I LOVE coming here, food always hits the spot! One of the few Grandy's left standing, I don't mind the 26 min drive. The dinner rolls are warm and airy, the meatloaf is my fave. The employees are always seen cleaning and sanitizing the dinning room and bathrooms. Staff is friendly and attentive. Bonus points for the Dr. Pepper products.

yummy comfort food! they cook the chicken tenders and nuggets fresh when you order them. In the past I got frustrated when I was told I had to wait 5 minutes for my chicken. But, now that I know they cook my chicken fresh and not that it just wasn't ready I appreciate the wait. I would rather wait for fresh and hot food than get less good chicken immediately.

This is a beautifully remodeled Grandy's locationThe food is exceptionally fresh and extremely hot.The place is spotless inside and out. The manager Dwight Owens is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. While I was eating there I saw him come out and Thoroughly check the buffet as well as verified temps and then I looked up a few minutes later and the dang store manager was out sweeping the parking lot. That was extremely impressive. I would highly recommend this location. I try to eat the buffet at least twice a week!!!

One of my favorite diners for the old school home cooked meals. I had the pot roast and gravy and cherry cobbler. The meat was so tender and juicy. I had a hard time seeing the menu and one of the associates took the time to read the menu to me. I wish I knew her name. She deserves and award or something. Awesome customer service skills!!! Most definitely will return.

It grandys. When you don't want to make it at home you come here. It was pretty good. Very nice staff. Older man and young guy working were very nice.

Good food but it's always slow behind the counter for some reason. Breakfast buffet also looks bare when it gets busy, wish they had more of a breakfast variety. Manager is super sweet and is very attentive to customers and knows everyone, if it wasn't for him we wouldn't come back.

Was asked to show id for my debit card purchase,but it was cool because my identity has been stolen twice. Manager answered all my question as to why he was very professional. After sitting there i noticed he asked everyone just the same no matter how old or young(fair)i will return the biscuits and sausage AWESOME.

Nicely remodeled with few changes, very familiar, but colorful and shiny again. No more televisions to watch, but makes sense, can't compete with cell phones! Enjoyed my favorite chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes (both with white gravy) and fried okra. Saddened to see that livers and gizzards have been dropped from the menu!

So glad to find this Grandys! This is a great chain and there aren't any in my part of town anymore. This one in Garland is very nice. Breakfast buffet was good, service was fast and very friendly. Building is clean and really well maintained.

I used to work for Grandys decades ago in another state. . I used to hook up the leftovers for a nice dinner at closing time. I recently thought a meal from here would be nice and there are so few left but a friend discovered this location and told me . I haven't had food from once since the early 2000s. It pretty much tastes the same surprisingly. My only issue was the rolls were not soft. It was about 20 min before closing time so im sure these had just been sitting. I always used to take the chicken fried chicken with seasoned rice on top smothered in BROWN gravy with baked beans. It was good. My order was correct. No issues.

Good food but u have NO OPTION TO NOT HAVE GRAVY ON THE CHICKEN FRIED STEAKS. IF U DONT WANT THEN SWIMMING IN GRAVY AND GETTING SOGGY U HAVE NO OPTION. PLZ FIX THIS!! JUST ADD 1 OPTION THAT SAYS NO GRAVY I SYEAD OF ONLY WHITE OR BROWN. OR AT LEAST DONT MAKE THE CHOICE REQUIRED! THATS JUST STUPID.

We ordered chicken fried chicken with white gravy mashed potatoes and corn. Pot roast sting beans and corn. Came with 2 rolls. The food was warm, and the service was nice. A little dark around there by the drive thru. Prices were reasonable, too.

This location was almost completely empty upon our arrival. No wait for service. Food was made very quickly. The macaroni &cheese is made with creamy cheese and not the powder kind. Needed salt, as it seemed to have none in it. The fried chicken was delicious. Not too crispy, but just crispy enough.

We have been coming to this grandys for two years- EVERY DAY - we order the same thing- I get my grandson a GRILLED CHICKEN SANDWICH before picking him up from GHS and take him to the field house for practice. Since the Owner has NOT been at this location since November their services has gone down- I line to keep our business in Garland helping out our local merchants. TODAY- February 16 I was very DISAPPOINTED - like I stated we ORDER THE SAME THING WVERY SINGLE DAY/ so today my grandson went without lunch because according to the ‘manager’ it was the ‘first day ‘ so I took the breaded chicken sandwich back and all the manager did was take out the breaded chicken and replaced it with a grilled patty AND he put back the breaded chicks

It was ok. The food is just as i remembered. The chicken was very dry because it had been sitting under the heat lamp for awhile. I asked for a cup of ice water and was given plain water. My son said the 🍤 was good

I haven't been to this restaurant in quite a long time because I rarely eat fast food. This visit I was ordering through the drive-thru and I asked the employee if the southwest grilled chicken was really hot and spicy. His exact words were "I have no idea ma'am, it's grilled chicken and it's got spice on it." I ordered the roasted chicken instead. It was disappointing that the employees didn't even really know the menu in order to sell the food properly. We haven't eaten yet so if it isn't any good I'll have to edit my review later! LOL

Woman manager always seems to have a bad attitude. Doesn't care about good customer service. All customers are important whether they come through the drive thru, inside to eat or come in to pick up an order.

Nothing to brag about. I can say there rolls and they were delicious, I had the chicken fried steak with gravy, corn and Mac n cheese. Cinnamom roll was okay. Thank you for what you do!

I got the fish and shrimp. The shrimp was about as big as my thumb and over cooked. The Cole slaw was not good. I was so disappointed. I usually get chicken fried steak every Thursday and we like it ok. I will never get fish or shrimp again. I love the people that work there♥️

Not what it used to be. Food is not as good as it used to be. Chicken nuggets are a third of the size and dry and stringy. They used to be great. Dining area is barron and boring. No salt or pepper or Napkins at tables. Place needs renovating. Prices are high for the stringy amount of food you get. Remembering how it once was and how it is now, I have no plans to return.

Website says closes at 10 pm. Hadn't been in a while, I traveled from my location, which is a little further then I normally go to eat something. But I wanted to get a chicken fried steak dinner. When I pulled into the parking lot, it was empty. All the windows are dirty. Looks like it's an old location went inside no customers l in there, but me and was told that they only do Uber Eats pick up but no dining in. Oh. Well, I won't make it back here again..

Have been going to this drive thru, maybe 10 times a year, for 10 years. Always for breakfast. Sometimes they aren't open as early as their posted hours say they are. Great tea and rolls... gravy is hit and miss and the eggs and bacon are best early. No employee ever looks like they want to be there. lol

My niece wanted to eat here during her recent visit for nostalgia reasons. It was okay but I try not to eat a lot of fast food anymore. We got the chicken fried steak and if I ever go back I would get chicken instead .

Grandys used to be one of my favorite place to eat, haven’t been in a year because my Steak basket was raw and cold , here I am little over a year and thought we would try again , beans looked a day old,, steak was hard and seemed old too. Dwight needs to hurry back.. because this food sucked .. wish i would of took a picture of beans that were not touched before I trashed them, called to complain l and the young guy says , i dont know what to tell u, didnt even apologize.. told him I would right a review he simply said ok. This shows the lack of caring for the business.. Sorry Dwight we will not go back..

We used to go here a lot. We have not been here in a few years. So we decided to come back. We were very diappointed that the breakfast buffet was gone. We had to wait about 20 minutes for food and it was really notworth the wait. It was luke warm at best. We will not be coming back again.

Customer service is great, food is terrible. Watery gravy, Mac and cheese cheese tasted expired, only thing good was the corn. Whoever prepares the food needs to be ashamed of themselves, it literally comes outta packages.

If you are very hungry for a good fresh meal at 7:00 on a Friday night, keep driving till you get to almost any other chicken place. The chicken was fried in oil that should've been changed a week ago. It was very crunchy because it had been warmed over. The Mac & cheese was probably good a few days ago when it was cooked. The cole slaw was better because it was tasteless. The bread was ok even though smashed flat. I first thought it was 1 roll. All this for $8.00

The service is very good as well as the size of the chicken pieces. The fried chicken tasted like it had been cooked in very old grease as well as the okra. The okra was also very soggy. Cole slaw was uneatable. Wont be going back.

Ordered 3 of the Tues steak dinner specials. The price has gone up, but the (notably the vegetable) portions have gone WAY down. SAD & insulting. I should have taken a pic. They are using junior sized scooper! 👀 So small that my 7 y/o grandson would have been mad. Suggest you check your portions size before you leave. #ripoff

They used to have the jingle fast food that doesn't taste fast. Mostly fried foods that are bland and have no personality. No customers and once we sat down and had the food we could see why. No service, the teenagers running the place very unmotivated. What a sad dining experience. I can see why this place is closed and opened and closed and opened so many times.

I ordered a chicken strip meal. It was really bad The strips were mostly the crispy coating on the chicken. Very little actual chicken. I found only a couple of small bites of chicken in the strips. The (obviously instant) mashed potatoes were thin & watery. Fried okra was ok. I've eaten here many times over the years and this was the worst meal I've ever had at a fast food chicken place.

Went in for breakfast for Father's Day. Cashier OBVIOUSLY did not want to be there. Food was cold. The cockroach my grandson saw that ran across the floor pretty much ruined his appetite. The fixtures were obviously the original fixtures from when the store opened back in the 70's, and they looked their age. There was some kind of crud at the bottom of my coffee cup when I finished my coffee(it wasn't coffee grounds). Hashbrowns were soggy, overdone and greasy. They may do a bang up dinner, but go to McDonalds next door if you want a half way decent breakfast. It was just not a pleasurable visit. Thankfully it will be our last. And if you are interested, even though the Google profile says they have an all-you-can eat, they do not.

We went on a Sunday around 3pm. We got a 3 piece white, a kid's meal chicken strip, and a cinnamon roll. The chicken was old and had been sitting for awhile. I blame myself because the chicken was in sight and appeared to be old. I ordered it anyway. The kids meal strips were good. They are cooked to order. My wife wanted gizzards but they no longer have them on the menu so she just got a cinnamon roll. They never brought the cinnamon roll. When asked for a refund, the young guy behind the counter told her that they couldn't refund just one item on the ticket, they would have to refund the entire ticket. The manager came and was able to refund just the cinnamon roll. I gave 2 stars because my little brother really enjoyed his meal.

Decent food, but orders are consistently wrong and staff show a notable lack of care, though I suspect that has more to do with management. Unless its a busy time of day for them (and its rare for it to be busy), expect your food to be wrong or poorly made.

The food is great but the two late night guys lock the doors and turn off all of the lights including at the drive thru. Felt super sketchy and they made me feel bad for bothering them to order. Good food though.

I would not recommend their pot roast. My pot roast was disgusting. My pot roast was hard to find in all the gravy on my plate which was not good either. I basically had no pot roast at all and the sliver of a pieces of shreded beef that i did find was not good at all. Potatoes were old, carrot were ok. Ended up throwing my whole plate away. On another hand their fried chicken breast was moist and good. And their dinner rolls were good.

Food has gone down hill. No seasoning very bland vegetables.

I went at lunchtime, thinking that the food would be hot and fresh however, I got these crustiest burnt fries you could ever taste clearly Redipped three or four times. And of course, my gravy thrown everywhere amongst my corn very disappointing We have a war going on. I'm trying to enjoy all my meals. We don't know what the future holds

Place was empty at 6:30 pm and makes me sad cause this grandy’s has been around for over 30 years. After they took the breakfast buffet out I knew they were doomed. I was excited to eat the chicken nuggets meal but when I got home disappointment set in. Sad to say… it’s time to close down especially with the young workers running it down… This is what I brought home.

Food was great. But store needs a good deep cleaning. Men's room smelt like every thing in the was urinated on. On the dividers it look like mold or something was growing on the metal. We will stick to the Grandy's by Town East Mall.

Received poor quality on one meal,wrong grave on a second and never received a peach cobbler in and receipt for the perchase. Called and complained and was told to come. Back and they would take care of it. Went back and was told to have the receipt or there was nothing they could do. I stated we never got the receipt. They would not take care of anything.

Surprised they open this place back up. It needs to close and stay close the food is terrible customer service sucks. I got food poisoning from this nasty place. Reported to Garland Health Department

Was really disappointed in the quality of the food here. Sausage was raw in the middle. The steak in my biscuit hard as a rock and the biscuit was crumbling in pieces. Nothing was edible. I had to throw it away and go to McDonald's.

This location is always out of stuff, and they’re incredibly slow. It takes them at least 2-3 mins to even speak to you at the drive through. The older two employees are very nice and apologetic. The younger hispanic man with curly dark hair has zero manners and hardly listens, you have to repeat everything like 2-3 times. When you get to the window be ready to wait. Once he comes up to you, there is no hello or good morning, he just sticks his hand out waiting for your payment. He doesn’t say thank you, or sorry for the wait or anything really. Aside from always being out of things, the quality has gone down, and they’re seriously taking 10 mins or more to get you your food. They aren’t busy enough for things to be taking this long. Probably done going here for breakfast.

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had at aby Grandys. The food was CRUSTY like it's been under the warmer all day or was from yesterday! Then when I called back to talk to the manager for a refund because the food was inedible, the cashier says I'm the only one working. Un FREAKING acceptable!

I went to pick up lunch for my coworkers and decided to go inside since I had several orders & wanted to make sure it was correct. The cashier was very rude. I asked to speak to the manager. She said "he is busy" & preceeded to make several drive thru orders & then when someone else came inside she took his order. Never once letting the manager know I was waiting to talk to him. I eventually got in my car & drove to the drive thru window to speak to the manager. At which point I explained that all I was trying to do was get lunch for my coworkers and did not appreciate the way his employee had treated me. I asked for her name and he told me I will take care of it. I asked him several times and he finally said Flor. Which I am not sure I believe. I told him I would be including it in my survey. I have gone there many times before. And even when they messed up my order I returned. But I will not be returning again. Blatant rudeness is not acceptable in the service industry. If you hate your job so much then quit. Don't ruin someone else's day with your bad attitude.

This is the worst place I have ever been to/ I will never go back and I am going to tell everyone I know to stay far away. First off the restaurant is very old and run down. The bathrooms were disgusting. There was no soap and toilet paper all over the floor/ Then we went to order the food and we were ignored by the staff/ We stood there for 5-10 minutes before any one even acknowledged us. The manager finally rang us up. He was very unpleasant and seemed very angry. Maybe he just hated his job. The food was gross. The biscuits were hard, the bacon was burnt, the eggs were nasty and runny, the ham looked bad, the fruit was warm, the grapefruits were mushy, the french toast was under cooked, and there was no syrup. We had an awful experience! There was not one thing good about our experience. I take that back the sprite was good. It was the worst $20 i have ever spent! I am surprised the health dept. hasn't shut this place down. Someone is going to get sick. Go someplace else.

They need to be shut down asap , first off first plate was pot roast and rice the rice was so cold and when we told the lady seem to be manager, she literally put her finger in the rice pot with bare hands so that she could see if it was hot or cold, second plate was a grilled chicken plate the chicken was hard and thin the fries was so old the chicken seemed to have been probably old days before chicken the cook was in the back eating the food this place needs to be shut down the only thing that was good was the dang rolls

This place used to be great. The new management is terrible and the food quality has gone down dramatically. I asked for fries and somehow ended up with baked beans, the chicken was over cooked, the servings of chicken are smaller than they used to be, and the okra was soggy. I miss the old team that worked here. They cared about quality and now not so much

The sweet girl at the counter was clearly not trained well. She was confused, unprofessional and sloppy. She was sweet and was really trying though so I don't blame her. The food was inedible for me and I left my full tray (except the bisquit which I salvaged). The mashed potatoes were flat out cold. The okra was OK albeit chewy on the inside and some of the fried "run offs"/edges were rock hard and not to be bitten into! Overall, this was an unpleasant experience and I will not be returning. Ever.

It's so sad to see what this place has become. It use to have good management and customer service! We came every weekend and was always greeted into a warm friendly environment. Now the staff is unprofessional and the food is disgusting. We didn't finish our food because it was the bad. Luckily we found where the old staff and manager moved to and have switched. Back to awesome food and a great staff!

Horrible service the Hispanic lady from the drive through Is so rude and with the worst attitude by 9:30 she doesn’t want to serve. And one occasion our food have all the frosting from the cinnamon roll all over the food! What’s the point to work in a restaurant if you gonna be so rude? I hope the owners do something about it

Shame on Grandy's for what they provide as a 40 dollar Thanksgiving dinner. I got the equivalent of 8 slices of turkey lunch meat, and two sides that were in pints..I had to drive back to get the turkey they neglected to put in with the meal. I paid for four extra rolls..I got four total. Let's be honest..when have you ever seen a granny's with patrons.

Bought 2 Cinnamon rolls. They were hard as a brick. Put them in microwave but still were hard and stale. Make sure to check on how many days old.

Do not go to this one they never answer the phone. They never have chicken ready. If you order a family meal you have to wait 30/40 minutes the other day they were shut down due to technical difficulties.

Ordered food for my elder aunt so not sure how the food is (smells good) BUT the service was AWFUL. (And that’s being generous) I came to pick up my order from the drive thru and made eye contact with 3 people who weren’t doing anything besides being on their phones. When the girl finally opened the window she didn’t address me she just looked at me. Then when she finally brought my order she just said here you go. Just rude and can tell they hate their job…but that’s not my problem. The star is only for how the food smells but service is so garbage

NEVER AGAIN!!!! Food was horrible. Eggs were dry, so I asked for fresh eggs, those were still nasty; sausage and bacon looked and tasted old, hash brown was stringy, steak and biscuit were just ok.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM THROUGH UBER EATS!!!! I am SO disappointed how this location has gone down hill. EVERYTIME I order from here through Uber Eats they ALWAYS screw up my order. They either forget a meal or give me the wrong meal. I currently do not have a vehicle so I spent $75 on dinner for me and my family and they couldn't even two double steak meals right, they gave me single steak meals instead. I was nice the first couple of times but now I'm pissed. That is a lot of money to not get what you paid for. And they NEVER answer the phone. I tried calling ahead of time to make sure they didn't screw up and then again after I received my order. Whoever is running this place is doing a horrible job. I don't know if it's a bunch of kids up there working and not paying attention but it's ridiculous.

This place is Dirty, first of all! These lazy employees need to learn how to deep clean correctly! Windows, tables, doors, bathrooms, and sooo on ! Customer service needs work. The food was old and dry. My wife was served old chicken and had a very foul smell. I understand why the lobby and drive thru were empty.

4th time stopping there. Always after 9pm. Lobby and dining room are always closed. They act like customers are an interruption to their day. Tonight spent 15 minutes waiting on them to finish the customer in front of me. Their excuse was that the previous order was a $70 order. Then didn't have 2 chicken fried steaks ready. Total was about $10 with tax. And making a walking customer have to use the drive through. This happens every time. Also Google maps says 10pm closing time. Nope they were closing at 9:30.

Went here today around 11 o’clock and when I tell you, the food was nasty as hell baked beans was cold the bread it was hard as hell like it’s been sitting since yesterday chicken fry steak taste it was cooked yesterday. Only thing was good was the sweet tea. 21.17 I spent on some shit I could have cooked at home.

We had terrible food that was cold, hard, and old, sweet tea was old and sour! We got our food and we're given 1 roll each that looked/felt like bricks. My mom went to ask for a fresh warm roll and they told her we're cooking them. We wait 10 mins and I go ask and the lady hatefully hollers we are proofing the rolls! We threw the entire order in the trash and left! All they had to do in the beginning is tell us the didnt have bread and we would not have ordered! I'm unsure how this place is still open?!?

I was there at 9:35pm yesterday in the drive thru line, you know expecting to get my chicken fried steak and warm mashed potatoes and the fixings etc etc. Well, I was there for 10 minutes and no one ever took our order in the speaker. Open sign was still on, but you know, I guess they didn’t want to work that night. Horrible no-service.

Horrible experience, slow service to stop for afternoon lunch. Ticket said food ordered at 10:53, I sat until 11:40 for my food and still didn't receive it due to having to go back to work. Worse service when asked how much longer and being told 2 minutes and 15 more minutes going by. Date 4/21/25 time order 10:58, left at 11:40. Ordered my food from register 2 from a Kamilah. Worse place to stop for a fast food place in Garland.

I stopped by for breakfast this morning and was never greeted by the young lady working the front counter. Her back was toward me the entire time as she loaded the breakfast meats with no hair net or gloves. Braids were hanging to mid back/hip area(with no hair net) She grabbed a piece of bacon out of the holding container it was in and started eating it. She finally turned around and looked at me while chomping on the bacon. Walked off, tossed the remaining piece of bacon that was in her hand(I would have just finished it). Sounded like she ran her fingers under some water for a quick second then came back and ask how can I help you. I greeted her with good morning and told her she could finish what she was working on while I browse the menu. Her service was friendly in the end but I will not return to this location. Across from the Dallas county building. Yes I still purchased breakfast.

The cashier says the only food they have available is what’s out (pictured) after taking our order. She called her boss” and said she only had chicken. You mean to tell me you worked all day and didn’t realize what food you can serve??? Ridiculous. Used to love Grandys but now I know why they’re all closing around DFW.

I used to love this place as a teen. Came by today excited too try this place once more and im sad to say I'll never be coming back. The mac and cheese tasted sour and the white gravy tastes straight up expired. I would not recommend. We throw away the food and leave right away. It was so bad my husband wants to call the health department.

We don't live close but had to have eye surgery close to there. We looked up what time they would be open and the Web site says 6, so we planned for a week to get breakfast there the day of surgery because we had to be at surgery at 7 right down the street 6:45 they were not open. They wonder why people don't come? This is a good example. I haven't had a BET in years and it was a big disappointment they were closed.

This place needs to shut DOWN!! Food looks like it has been sitting out for awhile. It stank. Nasty. Leaks everywhere. Food was old and nasty. The stank outweigh the food. Food was either cold or tasted bad. First and last time coming here. You see this Grandys run!! Don't walk!

10/08/2024: Very cold okra and mashed potatoes. The dinner roll was crunchy and old. This place is too expensive to be giving out inedible food. Crazy how they haven’t closed yet. 09/17/0224: I order large okra, large mashed potatoes and two rolls. Waited 10 minutes for the two cars inc front of me to get their order then I got mine. When I got home I had no napkins, no utensils and my two rolls were missing. They are basically stealing my money when I’m missing items I PAID for. Idk why I give this place a chance. It’s bad every single time I come. Close down already and bring a golden chick. One year ago: Waited 8 minutes for my chicken tenders and got home only to realize they are raw. When I came back, the young man with the curly hair was very nice about it. Cuddos to him.

Pot roast was dry with absolutely zero gravy. Never in my life been served pot roast without gravy. They even asked in the drive-thru, brown or white gravy? Brown please.... Incompetence at it's finest.
