My brother and I rolled into the Goleta Chipotle late last night after hockey, just as the team was in the middle of a deep clean. Despite being clearly busy, the staff didn’t miss a beat. The service was still amazing—friendly, fast, and generous with portions. Grace, the manager, was clearly on top of everything. You could tell she was running a tight ship while keeping morale high across the team, which isn’t easy that late at night. Big props to Kelsey, Shanye, Julie, and Arsena for holding it down up front, and Miguel and Emmitt in the back for making sure everything came out fresh and hot. This crew gets it right, by far, my favorite chipotle location.
Leaning toward more an and American style dish differs from taquerias in that the food is more clean. Not that taquerias are germ dirty but natural greasy tacos from The meat is not present in the chipotle cuisine. The food is good just wanted to mention the contrast. Other than that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with his restraunt.
I really love coming here, the food is great and in large quantity. I will always ask for a bowl. Because I am not used to eat so big burritos 😅 ( I am french) Anyway, the staff was always great with us and very friendly, also it was open the 1st of January 2020... thank you so much !
Great quality food as always! The place seemed a bit short-staffed, but the team was clearly working hard to keep things moving. Cole, who served us, was super friendly!
I absolutely LOVE chipotle! You can say I’m their number 1 customer. 😂 Their service is amazing with lovely employees, prices are not expensive at all, and the best guac I’ve ever tasted! 🥰
They were super busy with school, getting back in session and the kitchen looked messy and trash on the floor but what do you expect. It was my first time there. So I had trouble ordering and got the bathroom code.
Out of everything: straws, lids. Soda fountain not working. Lemonade not full. Restaurant is messy. They don't give you a cup for water.
So every time I order by DoorDash, I get less food than when I actually go in person. My burrito was cold. I had a little bit of meat even though I asked for extra meat cause I knew they were gonna give me a little portion. They have a lot of college students working there, and I don’t know if they have been trained the right way.
Place is always a mess, food counter covered in sour cream and cheese. Says they open at 10:30 everyday, came by at 11:20 today and they are still closed
I placed an order through DoorDash. Our food came on time, but it was the lamest serving size. The Chipotle worker didn’t even put one serving size of each item. It literally looked as if someone had already eaten half the meals and then handed them over to be delivered. This happens quiet often (more than 4 times now) at this location for pick up/delivery orders. I wish I had taken a photo of the burrito, it was the size of my palm.
If you like paying $10 for a burrito bowl that's 1/2 the size of a few years ago, and sitting at a dirty table that hasn't been cleaned, this is the place for you! The tables are always dirty at this location I swear. That ment that my family of 4 had to sit at different tables because we could not find a single clean table to accommodate all four of us. The table in the photo was not cleaned the entire time we were there (about 20 minutes) Seriously Chipotle, just go back to making the bowls the size they used to be and have an employee do a cleaning sweep of your small restaurant every now and then. You can do better, you used to be so good, but now you are just as bad (and worse in some ways) as the typical big box fast food restaurants.

Probably the worst Chipotle experience I've had. This location is dirty and the workers provided a poor level of customer service. Approximately 10 staff members and it took 15 plus minutes to be served. With only two people in front of us.
The serving counters and grilling counters were filthy with dropped food scraps. The servers were pleasant but the cleanliness was wanting. I’ve watched other serving staff clean as they go but that wasn’t the case today.
I just went in for an iced tea on this visit, but I've eaten at this location before too. I've also eaten at countless other Chipotles often. Because of my vast Chipotle expertise, I can confidently say this is the worst run store I've been to and maybe anywhere in California. The few times I've been there they've been out of something I wanted to order. This time it was the tea, but I didn't know until after I paid for my drink. When I asked a crew member in a polo (I think that means they're a shift lead or manager) if they had more in the back he said no. When I then asked what to do about it, he suggested I get a different drink? Like what different drink. I told him I don't drink that other swill and asked for a refund, but that was such a hassle to him that I just left with my $3 cup of ice. Two stars because it's still Chipotle, but do better.
I love chipotle but this is probably one of the worst ones I’ve been too. Regularly out of things like steak, salad dressing, sauces, utensils. Inside is not very clean. Gets super busy during lunch times. Given all of this, it’s still the only chipotle we’ve got around here.

Beware of their online orders. Twice I’ve placed an order through their app and it was confirmed. However, when I arrive at the store at around 11:10 am, the doors are locked with a closed sign on the door. And this is after I’ve already been billed. Staff is around but doesn’t seem to care too much. Not sure what’s going on with management here. Wish they would be honest with you and just reject the order in the app. What a hassle and waste of time.
Lettuce was completely frozen, rest of the food was colder than it should have been, it felt like my burrito bowl had been in a fridge over night. Not acceptable for a $13 meal. When I pointed this out to the cashier she gave me a seperate bowl of lettuce. I thought she was joking at first. I tried to scrape the frozen lettuce off but it took the guacamole with it. Skip this Chipotle and go to Lily's tacos or Freebirds instead
Just tried going here at noon on a Saturday. They said they hadn’t opened yet because they were “running behind”. They open at 10:30. We’ve never experienced that before… so wild.
Absolutely ridiculous service and terrible issues with cross contamination. I am vegetarian with many meat allergies. I have ordered in person and online orders and have found meat in my food countless times even after letting them know of my allergies and requesting that they be careful while scooping and changing their gloves. The few times I have went back to complain, the employees claim that they don’t remember making my bowl and pass off blame. I understand that this location is primarily staffed with college students but they make it near impossible to eat here for a very large group of people. They have crazy issues with cross contamination and don’t take accountability. Please stay away if you have allergies for your own health.
Horrible service, Horrible Attitude. Every time I enter this building they are out of some item Portion sizes are atrocious, seems like the workers pay for the supply themselves the way they stinge out on everyone.
Best place to go for a poorly made burrito, with wrong ingredients, made by inept people, at an extremely slow pass!
They rice is literally always undercooked and it’s crunchy, I’m tired of eating undercooked rice and tired of going to the chipotle in la Cumbre when there’s one here closer to me
I love chipotle, have been to locations across the country. This might be the worst. Consistently wrong orders, legitimately wrong more often than not. Wrong ingredients, missing ingredients, added things not asked for. Expect at least one of those with your order unless you get lucky. It’s also pretty dirty and grungy in there, I’d be surprised if they passed an impromptu health inspection. This is also the first chipotle in my 15+ years of eating chipotle that has given me a tortilla on the side only to have it crumble into pieces as I unwrapped it from the foil from being overcooked. Tldr, dirty location and expect something to be wrong with your order if you get it to go.
This is my first time leaving a complaint on Google, and I don't take this lightly. Typically, I let poor service slide, but today's experience at this Chipotle location was beyond unacceptable. This is, without question, the worst-run Chipotle I’ve ever encountered. The inefficiency is so bad, it's almost comical—except it's not funny when you're trying to grab lunch during a busy workday. This location should be a convenient option for the many nearby corporate offices, but instead, it's a place where professionals waste their entire lunch break (and more) waiting for something that should take no more than 10 minutes. The staff seemed utterly lost, as if it were everyone's first day. They were confused, disorganized, and openly blaming one another in front of customers, which was embarrassing and unprofessional. I went in at 1:30pm, and despite a line of over 30 people, there was only one employee working the line! She repeatedly left the station, leaving the entire line waiting with no one serving food. Meanwhile, the cashier stood there, cracking his knuckles and staring off into space, contributing nothing. He should've helped restock food, make bags of chips, clean the extremely messy line....anything! The lack of communication between the front and back of the house was glaring. They were completely out of white rice and almost the brown, nearly all the meats except chicken, and fajitas were out. This wasn’t a one-off; it’s a consistent issue. Every time I visit, they are out of basic ingredients, and there seems to be no system for restocking or maintaining rotation. Management, this is a clear reflection of poor leadership. You need to take immediate action. Your staff requires proper training to develop a sense of urgency and professionalism. This location is a joke right now, and it's time to step up and fix it!
Super slow, workers look miserable and dont seem to really want to help eachother get the place moving, place is incredibly messy Food was good considering they were nearly out of everything.
The first time I ever went to a chipotle, I ordered from this location and they forgot to make my online order lol. Months later, went back and they forgot to add what I wanted to my quesadilla. The quesadilla ended up just being cheese and it was eh whatever. Every time I have gotten food here, it has been wrong. Wish I could rate it lower lmao
Typically when I order I don’t have any problems besides small portions. In store or ordering online, there’s always something up but it usually doesn’t bother me too bad. This time however, I ordered guac and they didn’t give it to me. I ordered sour cream and they didn’t give it to me. So either let me know how I get a refund or something because I’m not spending my money to get the wrong order.
Went here Saturday 9/28 around 5pm and the place was utterly disgusting. The dining area looked like a swarm had come thru and trashed it with food all over the floors and stuff on every single table. Only one person was sitting at a table and it was an employee on their break. At the counter was a massive amount of employees behind the counter but not one of them was dealing with the dining area. Not even the employee on break had the smarts to say this is dirty maybe I should let my manager know No manager to be found. Had to ask several people at the register and the mobile order area to clean the area. Someone finally came out who said sorry I just started my shift. The soda machine was out of ice, it had all been dispensed in heaps below the dispensers. There were no napkins and the utensils were out. Every trash can was overflowing. Who manages this place! They should be ashamed. I hope Chipotle corporate sees these reviews and shuts this place down! So many bad reviews, it never used to be like this. Seems to have started recently.
I ordered a burrito today for $12 and it was extremely disappointing — there were literally only three small pieces of meat inside. The rest was mostly rice and tortilla. It tasted bland and felt like a total rip-off. I’ve always liked Chipotle, but after today, I’m really frustrated and won’t be coming back again. If I could, I’d give negative stars.
Can’t even rate the food because the service is diabolically abysmal. If you like waiting 30 minutes in a line that doesn’t move 2 feet, this is the place for you. The line could be stretched out the door and around the block and the employees would still move slow as molasses.
I placed an online order around 12:00 for 1:00 pickup, I arrived at 1:03. When I got my bowl it was clear that it had been sitting on the shelf for at least 20 minutes as all my food was cold and moisture had leaked into the bowl material, causing the bowl to peel and chunks of material got into my food. The bowl was also only about 80% full. In the photo you can see that the food had cooled, clung to the bowl, and began peeling into my food.
So during these unfortunate times my car is in the shop right now getting fixed. Thus I am forced to order food from some places I like to eat from a lot via DoorDash.. Upon ordering my food today at 7:40 I receive probably what is the smallest portion of all I’ve ever received from chipotle. Knowing that I go there, to that same location in person and I’ve never received a burrito this small. On top of that I paid an extra $4.75 for some steak that was supposed to be in the burrito. Down below will be pictures of this LIT-size burrito. I have croissants sitting on top of my fridge bigger than this burrito. On the picture you’ll see items that I have next to the actual burrito, one a five dollar bill, another a mini Fuji bottle and then I decided to tagalong my remote control. Now you tell me does this burrito right here look like it’s $15.50. I was so shocked that I checked the bowl immediately just to see that there was more veggies and rice. I then proceeded to check my profile to see if I was labeled as a vegetarian on there because it is absolutely made no sense. My meal came out to $37 bucks. So you’re telling me what you guys think. I’ll let the people do the reviewing. Now for the good part, I wanted to leave a review on Google yelp, etc. exploiting the workers who made my burrito so I called the store asking for the persons name that made my food so I can put them on the review. Didn’t want to bash everyone, until the manager got on the phone, proceeded to say sorry, said I will get you a refund, kept saying sorry again, and because I wasn’t excepting his apology he hung up on me. It wasn’t as if I was dismissing his apology. I just wasn’t acknowledging it, didn’t say anything to it as I was livid….I told him I want my refund and the phone was still hung up on me. Honestly, a very poor Experience for a place that I really used to like a lot and went to frequently . so much that I looked forward it arriving in being something to satisfy me.
Not worth coming last hour before closing! They stop preparing food and serve tiny portions to make sure every customer gets little bit of food but then charge the full amount (plus most of the carb, protein and side items are gone already). Profit margins to the roof 📈. I didn't want to write a bed review hoping its just one time thing but been coming here at least 7-8 times already end every time before closing is the same. Totally NOT worth it, you wont enjoy your food, you wont get full, you'll get overcharged. Eat elsewhere!
This chipotle is the worst one that exists. It should not be open if they’re out of chicken, fajitas, sour cream, lettuce, and serve hard rice. I’ve never had a worse experience at a Chipotle and the customer service wasn’t great either. The workers didn’t even care. I literally spent $11 on an empty bowl.
Severely understaffed. Workers are always kind and do their best, but theres only two people working at 9pm. Management failure
Why is there only ONE person on the line, with 5 workers in the back TALKING! I am BEYOND appalled at this. I waited in line for an HOUR. Do better Chipotle.
Watch out; there was a shard of bone in my beef barbacoa burrito bowl. It was rock-hard and surprised me when I bit into it.

I don’t often leave negative reviews, but this place is rough and has been for some time. I’ve visited a handful of times these past few months and every single time the experience has me questioning why I keep coming back. There are never enough staff - 2 people during the dinner rush. Piles and piles of dirty dishes everywhere. Food coating the counters and floors. Some foods weren’t available because they weren’t cooked. Final straw was the food wasn’t even yummy today - slimy veg and super salty everything else. Don’t think I’ll be going back.
Took 40 minutes to order because employees were sitting in the back doing nothing. Had no beans or half the meats. Weakest portion sizes of all time. Gave me a drop of sour cream then when I asked for more drowned my burrito in it and charged me extra. No napkins, the entire restaurants a mess, I've never seen a group of employees do so little work but act entitled enough to give me attitude. This is the first time I've ever written a review because of how genuinely terrible the service was.
I don't believe this store could pass a health inspection. Every table was covered in food. We stood in line for fifteen minutes where the staff never attempted to address the clearly long line, there were 4 people on staff, so understaffing was not the issue. The woman was swinging a clearly dirty cloth from dirty water and flinging dirty water particles into the containers, then began scooping the dirty food from the line into the food containers. We then watched a guy come back with 4 new food containers and he dumped the full container of new cheese into the old container, which the woman staff member had scooped dirty food into, clearly contaminated. Which is against first in/ first out rules. At this point I didn't feel like potentially risking food poisoning and I left with my family.
I can’t lie I like chipotle BUT this store has been doing me dirty by giving us uncooked rice. Pieces of avocado shell in MY FOOD and the service omg it’s actually bad. Last time i went there the staff would give such an attitude w me and wouldn’t apologize for the lack of wait. Today this blonde man did apologize for the lack of wait which was understandable because he was trying to fix a cashier issue with somebody but the 20 min wait just to get myself food thinking i would get it in 5 mins. not just that but there were staffs just standing there looking confused and not asking the ppl in line what would they like to order. I love the food but I don’t love how it’s handled.
This is the worst chipotle I’ve ever been to. They are constantly out of everything no matter what time of day you come in. They have a separate stash of food for take out orders that they refuse to use for people in store. I usually end up leaving this Chipotle and going to the one on State just to get what I need. I would suggest that the manager orders enough food to get through the day. You are serving college students in Isla Vista, be prepared to be busy every day.
I would try to avoid this location; it’s *very* dirty inside (both the kitchen, visibly, and the eating area), the bowl size is 1/2 of what I would get anywhere else, and the meal I ordered 30 minutes ahead of time was fairly delayed. It seems poorly ran and inefficient, despite having 8 or 9 employees visible while I was there.
The past three times I've been there, they're out of everything. Missing the sofritas, missing cheese, missing corn salsa, probably missing more things that I just don't get. Or I ask for chips which I can clearly see many behind the counter and I'm told they're being saved for online orders so I can't buy one. I love Chipotle but I will not be going back to this location.
I never leave negative reviews, but this is specifically to the manager or owner: put more staff in the schedule. You had 4 people on staff on a Saturday afternoon. FOUR. That is less than the bare minimum. They couldn't keep up with making enough food for the line. Half of the ingredients were empty. Every single surface was covered in food. Dirty pans were piled all over surfaces. The dining room was a mess because every single employee was trying to keep the LONG line of customers moving. I'm certain you already aren't paying these poor folks enough and then you leave them short staffed so they're doing likely double or more the work? Awful. You're lucky they didn't quit and walk out.
I don't think I've ever actually been this disrespected to my face with the portion size of the bowl I ordered in person. With rice, beans, and meat it didn't even reach the inside line of the bowl.
Who runs this place? I usually don’t leave reviews, but this Chipotle has become consistently disappointing. I understand that they get a huge rush from UCSB students—traffic is expected, lines are expected—but the level of mess and lack of cleanliness is beyond what’s acceptable for any restaurant. When I walked in, food was everywhere—on the counters, on the floor, around the prep area. It looked like nobody had wiped anything down for a while. Ingredients were spilled and mixed together, which raised real concerns about cross-contamination. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen it at this location, but this visit was definitely the worst. What made it even more frustrating was the staff’s behavior. Workers were rushing around, dropping things, even throwing dishes, creating more mess instead of addressing it. And what seemed to be the manager was just standing in the back, on her phone laughing, completely ignoring the chaos out front. No leadership, no sense of urgency, and no professionalism. I love Chipotle, but this location needs serious attention. Cleanliness, food safety, and staff management should be non-negotiable. So many food violations.
I have been going to this location for a long time. Never really had any issues until the last year or so. It seems there has been a change in management. The lady manager who always seems to be there now is rude to the staff, and they all seem scared of her. Tonight they were out of steak, fajita veggies, brown rice, and lettuce. When customers asked if they could wait for more to be made, the staff said they were done with those ingredients for the night. Keep in mind, this was 7pm on a Saturday. I pieced my bowl together with the ingredients that were left. The guy in front of me bought chips at the checkout line. I tried to order chips, and the cashier told me they "were not doing chips anymore tonight." I asked if they were out, and she said no, but the manager told her not to serve chips anymore tonight. I saw bags of chips sitting on the counter. I told her I would not have come there if I had known. I stood back and watched the staff, including the manager, serve chips to the doordashers that were picking up orders. I did not make a big deal out of it, but I decided I will not come back here until they fix their issues. The place is also filthy.
