I just ate Breakfast at "Cronies". It's a nice little Diner and the prices are good. A Breakfast for 2 People plus a 20% tip only cost me $25. I'm leaving "Cronies" with a full stomach. So, If your in the Hagaman/Amsterdam area and are looking for a good breakfast at a fair price "Cronies" is the place to check out.

Phenomenal food. I couldn't believe how amazing the proportions were. Had enough for not only lunch being there but dinner for the gf and I later on. We brought our 2 yo with us, he enjoyed his grilled cheese albeit he choked and got sick on a mozzarella stick. The open steak sandwich is so darn good. The fries are amazing! They also have some of the best mozzarella sticks ive ever had. Can't wait to go again. We loved it and our 2 yo loved it. Great staff. Such a wonderful experience

Family owned restaurant which serves large portions (that still include dinners that have all three food groups..unlike some restaurants where everything is A la carte) for great prices! Weather your dining in- picking your food up to go- or having it delivered, your definitely in for a great meal!! I have never tried anything on the menu I dont like. From burger baskets, to Italian dishes & pizza your experience here will definitely keep you coming back for more.

The meatloaf is almost as good as moms, the gravy is even better than moms. Best part about the meal was that the portion was enough for me to have the leftovers for breakfast.

Here visiting family, so that means a pizza tour!, my father recommended Cronies for some nostalgic childhood pizza that bares the same as the formerly Crystal Bar Pizza quite a few years ago. We travel the country and test out good pizza shops regularly, this pizza has gone into the books as some of the best pizza in the Country. We have been to NYC New Haven Boston often and this ranks with the best, very unique and noteworthy. This lil spot has a great underrated pie, forget your local favorites and give this place a try. You wont be dissatisfied.

I always love a good, hole in the wall, small town diner. Cronies doesn't disappoint. It has that been-there-forever, timeless, welcoming vibe. Almost everything on the menu is made from scratch, except for desserts. This time my friends & I tried the mozzarella sticks- yummy. Spaghetti & meatballs- plentiful & delicious. The lasagna-cheesy, meaty & more than my friend could eat in one sitting. And, I got the last available chicken parmesan dinner. Huge, tender, great flavor, served with a side of pasta, veg of the day, & a salad. Its large enough that I will easily enjoy 3 meals from it. We also ordered dessert: 2 of the chocolate mousse cake & carrot cake. Friend #2 enjoyed the carrot cake so much that she ordered a 2nd slice to go. The service is always dependable & friendly; just what one would expect in this little gem of a diner. We drive an hour each way because the price & quality can't be beat. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Where everyone knows everyone. (in town) Broke from my usual breakfast routine to visit Cronies, and I honestly got about what I expected. Friendly service, mom & pop tier breakfast, and a bill that was light on the wallet. Ordered the Cronies Super Breakfast, which included 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, home fries, choice of meat, choice of toast, and a coffee. All that for only $10.50, what a steal! Picked a rather poor spot to sit unfortunately, wanting to keep room open to larger parties I chose the only 2 seater table at the front, which placed me directly in the early morning sunlight. Cooking me like the bacon I ordered. Might want to tint that window or get some shades or something. Pancakes were super filling, and the syrup offered must have been either sugar free or low sugar, because it really had to slather the pancakes to get any sweetness out of them. The scrambled eggs were a little runnier than I usually like, but paired very well with the wheat toast. The bacon had the same issue of being less done than my preferred crispiness, but the home fries were spot on. Really wanted to finish it all, but in the end I was only able to polish off all but half a pancake and a few of the fries. Noticed most everyone who came in was welcomed in a very familiar fashion, likely regulars or people who live nearby and are known, unlike myself, but even still, I did not feel unwelcome.

The fish fry was DELICIOUS!! The stuffed baked haddock? Even better! We got everything in our order and the size of the portions were incredible. Very reasonably priced for how much food you get. Will be going back.

My mom and I love coming to Cronies! I always get the buffalo chicken salad and it is always amazing! I have tried the hot version of the salad and it definitely has a kick. I go for the mild now and it is just perfect! The waitresses are always so sweet! We also got an Island Pizza to go and I’d give it a 8/10! Lastly their prices are great! The cost of the salad, hot dog, side salad & pizza came to 28!

We’re new to the area and decided to try this place a few weeks back and have since eaten here like 4 times! Everything here is amazing. Meatloaf tastes just like my mom made! Fresh cut fries yum! my son and husband LOVED the grilled cheese. Mozz sticks are crispy and yummy. My brother in law said it was the best hot turkey sandwhich he’s ever had. The breakfast was really good too! I ordered the pizza for delivery tonight and OH MY GOD wow! it reminds me of Ralph’s pizza in colonie, just as good if not better! Food is amazing, prices are amazing and the waitresses are super nice! highly recommend

Nice family restaurant. Parking is tight. Their homemade fried and gravy are the areas favorite. I recommend that and their open steak sandwich. They are also sponsoring Orpys Pizza from the late crystal bar.

Big turnoff for us - charging us a big extra charge for credit cards. This is just a money grab, as it costs as much to deal with cash and checks for businesses as cards (just in a different way). Just price according to your business costs, and be glad for paying customers! Otherwise - We had good dinners - a good hearty sized burger platter and some fried shrimp (plenty). Some parts were a bit plain (canned cooked carrots as a veggie, or some old lettuce in the salad), but overall enjoyable food, pleasant service, and a casual atmosphere.

Used to love this place. Tonight had the worst chicken parm ever. Even took it back and ordered a hamburger. Which was enjoyable. When I complain to the waitress that the chicken is tough she actually just walked away and I had to find a new one.

I get take out from here a few times a month. A lot of the time, we order steak sandwiches because they usually are pretty good. However, the last time we ordered a steak sandwich, I got the containers home and when I opened them, what we got was half of the steak sandwich rather than a full steak sandwich. Normally, the sandwich is made with an entire sub roll, stacked with meat cheese, onions, peppers etc. This time however, we were served the same toppings, but on only one half of a sub roll. It's like they took one sub roll, split it in half lengthwise, and made two open faced steak sandwiches out of it. However, we were charged the same price as we would have been for a full sub roll. (Same size roll both times) I'm not sure if they thought we would not notice, but it was very noticeable.This time, I let it go, but if it happens again, I will be calling them out on it.

I gave 3 stars as the food quality is inconsistent. Some days it is good, other days it is bad. However the homemade rolls that come with the dinners have always been bad. Are supposed to be stale and crumbly?

Ordered take out breakfast egg sandwich. The roll was toasted black . I couldn't eat it. For lunch we ordered turkey sub. They toasted the roll? And burned it. Was not supposed to be toasted. Got a steak wrap and was good.

Terrible and disappointing. The waitress was not accommodating. The menu stated for breakfast eggs any way that you like cooked so I asked for poached eggs and the waitress looked at us funny. She didn't know what a poached egg was. She said wait let me go back to the kitchen and asked and came back out and said no they don't make poached eggs. I said how about boiled eggs and she looked at me funny again when my boyfriend says hard boiled eggs? She looks at us funny and says let me go back to the kitchen and asked and comes back out no. I said fine forget it I don't want any. My boyfriend orders his breakfast, even though he suggested we leave ( he's diabetic and needed to eat something) and she kind of looks at me and then she says would you like a piece of toast and I said no. I'll just have my cup of tea and ( I'll go to Dunkin donuts) I told my boyfriend. The waitress comes back and says that she would check on some fresh fruit for me I said okay. She never came back with any fresh fruit or said anything about it or said anything to me while she served my boyfriend. She did make a point to mention that she didn't want to go back in the kitchen and ask another question because she didn't want to be a bother. She's the bother to the customer because she's uninformed on the menu. I had to ask that they don't cook things in butter and she's like well they just put things on the griddle. I'm like that's fine but they don't have to cook it in butter or she doesn't know that answer either and she's not going to ask either because then she's being a bother. That's okay because I'm a restaurant reviewer and you just flunked.

They do not put the satisfaction of their customers before money. They need to learn, the customer is always right! It may be good if they read the book entitled "Give them the pickle." They have lost me as a customer!!

Went here off a recommendation from a hagaman native for a special family date night out. Sat in the back closet to the kitchen as we have our 1.5 year old with us. Was there for an hour before receiving any food for our child which we put in that order first thing. Witnessed a loud unprofessional kitchen fight the trickled out into the dining room very close to our table. Employees then chatted with us about the incident after taking their smoke breaks to calm down and compared the situation to an episode of Hell’s Kitchen. From what we experienced I couldn’t agree more with that comparison. Gordon Ramsay check this place out! When we received the food it was piping hot with oil dripping from the highly undercooked thick French fries. We asked if they didn’t mind putting it in the fridge to cool down. Then when it was brought back to us I noticed 2 hairs on the plate. That’s when we knew we didn’t even want to wait any longer for our food. I spoke with the owner who was far from forgiving for the bad experience and offered nothing to correct their mistakes. I’m disappointed and headed home to cook a late dinner for my little one. I will never go to or suggest cronies to anyone ever.

The quality of the food (due in part to it’s constituents) leaves much to be desired... here’s a fun game to play if you ever find yourself in the position of patronizing this business; order any dish off the menu and count the number of ways in which corners are being cut to yield a higher profit. Herein lies the issue; if the standards for basic staples are so low the average joe would not have it in their own fridge because it’s so processed it barely qualifies as a food item, why then would they pay someone to make them a dish using it? And if such items are commonplace in your home, then I kindly suggest you skip ordering something from here and take the money you save to purchase food of higher quality and subsequently expand your palate. It’s amazing what one misses out on when cost and familiarity are the only things being taken into consideration. I’ll end on the note that I’ve heard good things about the pizza.

Stopped in for breakfast and though the pancakes were large and flavor ok it was other issues. It appears that maintenance is wanting and the floors had dirt around table bases and along the edge near trim molding. We won't be visiting again!

Tonight was my first time eating here and I dont think I'll be back. It was a 45 min wait for pick up. I ordered a calzone with ham and broccoli. The ham wasnt cut up at all. Fill pieces of lunch meat ham piled on top of each other and the sauce wasn't warmed at all. My lady ordered the eggplant parmesan. It was a mess in the container. Her French fries we soggy and burnt.

Ordered a 6 cut pizza online for a pickup the estimated wait time was 15 minutes. I figured it seemed a little bit to fast to be accurate. I waited 30 minutes and ended up arriving 36 minutes after the order had been placed. I walked inside and asked to pickup my order. The employee seemed frustrated and said you cant expect a pizza to be done in fifteen minutes. I explained that I agree with that statement which I why was proactive and showed up when I did. She then proceeded to tell me the pizza would be another 40 minutes. I was frustrated but I said okay and went out to my car to proceed to wait. After waiting and debating on weather or not to cut my losses and just go get food else where I put my car in reverse and started backing out. The employee came running out with my pizza and gave me attitude and was extremely rude basically throwing the pizza into my car through my window. Drove home and the pizza is raw in the middle with way to much cheese in the middle amd none on the edges. Total waste of my time I should have drove away and got fast food which is what I now have to do. I do not recommend doing business with them. If I had a customer that ordered food and my estimated wait times were not accurate I would at least call them and give them an advance notice. I would take notes on how to act like a professional and I would fire wherever is making those god awful pizzas 🤣🤣

Worst customer service ever. Had meant to call a different Kronys. Had a staff member here laugh at my confusion over the phone. Hung up on me. Then when I called back to apologize the next staff member was rude and stated there was no manager on site. And the owner wouldn’t be in until after hours. Have never been treated so rudely 100% do not recommend. Do not support people who are trained to be rude to their customers.

Let’s start with ; diced tomatoes over a Vodka Rigatoni Dinner? Served with a side of green beans…..lol, I’m sorry extremely random. Secondly, vodka rig was flavorless besides the over powering taste of pepper/redflakes. Huge disappointment, bread rolls? Hard and cold. Ice Burg lettuce? Literally white and brown, stop ….okay, let’s get to the atmosphere - Spider webs/Cob webs - everywhere - spiders literally coming down from above the tables, and the response from the waitress was “Look, he’s going back up. If he were coming down I would have moved him for you but you’re fine” ???? Let’s talk about how my receipt didn’t specify what I paid for, so I called to get an explanation charges and the lady was rude, condescending, and annoyed that their receipt didn’t just showed “Adjusted Sale Item” . Needless to say, one and done.

The phone girl was very polite. Ordered for pick up. Drove home and opened this. Burnt fries and no chicken or hot sauce in my buffalo chicken wrap. Granted when I called I asked them to omit the ranch dressing that comes in it. I’m extremely disappointed and still hungry.

Ordered takeout. 2 subs, fries, mushrooms and onion rings with sauces. Got home, no sauces, fries were somehow black yet raw and there was a dime stuck in the sandwich. When we called they pretty much called us liars. Will never be back again. Good luck if you eat there.

I spent about 15 minutes trying to figure the menu out online, which wasn’t possible, and then just decided to walk the couple minutes down and order something simple from their menu that wouldn’t take too long. Lights on, open sign, door unlocked, but they had already closed the kitchen down and couldn’t offer me anything. I get it, it’s a Monday, a holiday, and I’ve been a chef for over twenty years, so I know how nice it is to close early. But now I don’t have any options for a late dinner after traveling. I would suggest staying open until your listed closing time. I would have loved to get some fries with gravy or a club sandwich. I wasn’t planning to order a pizza or pasta dish. A big disappointment overall.

If I could give zero stars I definitely would! The waitress we had was rude! Breakfast was by far the worst I’ve ever had I ordered French toast with ham and was given shaved ham for a sandwich. I asked switch it to a ham steak I was told there’s nothing “we” can do about it you’ll have to order a whole new meal… this was my first time and my last time coming there!

Ordered a pizza 1/2 pepperoni, 1/2 olives and peppers. Get a pizza with toppings on everything. Call back after making the drive out there for the pizza to get home it’s the wrong order. Then they offer to deliver it to me. And then say it’s too far but I’m welcome to waste my time and gas to come pick up another one, and bring the wrong one back (not unreasonable for wanting to ensure the pizza was wrong) Then when I say I’m not coming back out there after the talk of delivering it. They say no problem we’ll credit you another pizza. You can’t even make this one right. And then deliver it like you said you would. Then the guy backs out. And you want my continued business. Get out here.

Gravy was chunky. Fries were oohy gooy and some were al dente. Chicken Nuggets were fish texture. Burgers tasted like a mouthful of dirt. And.. the sad part was the salt had no flavor.
