I dined in here with two others and we all enjoyed our meals. The service and food were both on point. I ordered the Monte Cristo and it was very tasty. Try the chips and queso with beef! I'll eat here again for sure. Update: I recently tried the Mardi Gras Pasta for the first time and enjoyed it. If you like a creamy sauce with peppers, andouille, and seafood you'll love it. Start with the Spinach Dip, that was very tasty.
We love to have lunch here as a family. We dont spend a fortune and my picky daughter real enjoys the food.
Last Monday my husband, myself and 5 friends had dinner there. Had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. The service and food was good. Try the ribs and the salmon! We left around 7 pm. Getting back to our truck we saw that our front tire was completely flat. Long story short, we didn't leave until 2.5 hours later. After various attempts to fill the flat tire, we still had a flat. I went inside the restaurant for help. And we sure got it from "becca" the manager. She took her jacket off and went to work. Becca helped my husband, 72 year old, a 100% disabled veteran Getting the spare tire out from underneath a 2500 Chevy truck, took the flat tire off and put the spare tire on. In her work clothes she was on the ground. What a great person!!!! She didn't have to do all that and many people wouldn't, but she did!!! Thanks to Becca we went home around 10 pm. My husband was not physically able to change the tire, neither myself or our friend cici that was still there , being a good friend!! Becca went above and beyond of her position as the restaurant manager. Thank God for good people like Becca. We are very grateful
Update: This place is fantastic!!!! Let’s start with customer care; it’s out of this world. There’s the occasional checking on the person each server is serving, but the managers even walk the floors and are super friendly. They even engage with your kids if you have one, showing them how to play the games on the tablet provided per table. Not only are their appetizers delicious, but their main dishes are out of this world, and the prices aren’t so bad. This is also the first place that’s made the best spinach dip for chips. The only place so far since I’ve been to Texas. No one has yet to beat it. This restaurant isn’t a hit-or-miss type of restaurant. It’s an always-hit it restaurant. Come and enjoy it yourself. I'm an active duty good fanatic. This is all I do taste and critique, haha Update: I thought all cheddar was the same and would taste amazing. However, this place beats all of the cheddar in Virginia. The croissants here are much better, and you taste sweets, not butter.
I had forgotten how good cheddars food taste because it's been awhile since I've eaten there. Well they made a believer out of me again. I tried the chicken tenders and ribs combo. All I can say is it was off the chain. Enjoyed every bite and it didn't cost an arm and leg for it. The tenders were tasty and not overly breaded and ribs were tender meaty and full of flavor. Matter of fact they were so good my 19 yr old daughter asked me if she could have some and I gleefully told her no way you have to get your own. Oh well it's ok to be selfish sometimes😅. Five star all the way🤩🤩
Cheddar's never disappoints. They have generous plate sizes for a fair price. The cheddar broccoli casserole is absolutely delicious! I always get the grilled white fish plate, but I'll branch out eventually. My husband had the rib & chicken combo plate with a "pain killer" drink.
Doesn’t matter I was waiting for my table the food was delicious. But I have to say this, I was suffering from low blood sugar and Chris came to the rescue and brought me some juice and sugar, which brought my blood sugar up. I really appreciate it, thank you! Also, Elisa in the front was very kind and our server. The food Awesome!!!! and I take another plate to go. I love the ribs and the telapia with cheese sauce and shrimp
The food and drinks are good for the price. The honey butter croissant rolls are everything!!! Atmosphere and servers were great but they are pretty slow when they are busy or have large groups.
Everyone was pleasant and attentive from the moment we walked in. The sweet server that helped us was knowledgeable and offered suggestions, which was great. Drinks and appetizers came out quick and then our food (huge ribeye--loaded! They put garlic Butter, mushrooms and sauteed onions on top...my goodness. Sides I chose was loaded baked potato and green beans. And mango Iced tea. Hubby chose the red beans and rice and broccoli. I watched in awe as he ate every last bite. As delicious as mine was, I could only eat half. That is because I was eating the appetizer-- cheese bites, these are addictive! Oh and the crescent rolls topped with some kind of sweet cream. They were so light and fluffy. Addictive as well. I had my leftovers thru my day today-- thank you for the outstanding customer service and wonderful meal. Will definitely be back!
We’ve been here a few times and it’s always good. This particular trip was last night. Not only was the restaurant clean and comfortable, the food tasted wonderful and the service could not have been better. It was my daughter’s sweet 16 birthday dinner. She ordered a steak and it was cooked perfectly. Our apps were fantastic. All the food was hot, flavorful and juicy!! Our waiter Francis was kind and attentive from the moment he greeted us. Quickly moving us to a different table per our request without making us feel like a bother. He was so friendly, quick, inquisitive and super thoughtful with the birthday dessert. He was outstanding. Another waitress her name was Lola, she was incredible as well. She was not even our server but she made a trip to our table just to give my grand baby some stickers. She made us laugh, she was super friendly and kept us in smiles while we waited for Francis to get the dessert ready. They made a good team. What a great night! We will keep coming back!
It was my first time here and I loved it! I had the steak & tenders and I was really impressed. The setting puts you at ease, the servers are really friendly, and it didn’t take long for us to get our food. If you’re looking for a nice place that’s easy on ya wallet, this is it!
Our food was amazing I’m so glad my daughter chose us to eat here to the chef thank you for preparing such a great meal for us it was here birthday and you guys didn’t disappoint that fried apple omg delicious
Boyfriend brought me here for my birthday. Service was excellent. Our server Jina was great with advising me on what to choose from as this was my first time coming. I ended up ordering the meatloaf with a loaded baked potato and steamed broccoli he got the Monte Cristo and we got the Cheddar's cheese fries. 👌..😋 and the crescent rolls 🥐 delicious on top of everything the price was by far the best I've seen in a restaurant of this caliber... Will be back and hopefully get Jina as our server the next time. She was great and wish I could have tipped her more. Jina made my experience 10 Times better with her smile and demeanor. Best server in Harker Heights
I've had Cheddar's before in other locations and wasn't impressed. This one changed my opinion completely. We sat in the bar area and the service was excellent. She was friendly, quick, courteous, and pleasant. The spinach dip was delicious. I kinda created my own dish by combining menu items and it was great. The steak was a touch overdone, but the flavor was good. Definitely worth a visit!
Great service while enjoying dinner with some friends our server did seem a little overwhelmed with alot of tables but did a great job at getting us what we needed. Food was great!
We were a party of 40. We had six tables, three waitress. The waitress on my table was lost, brought our drinks when it was water and because we asked for it. Didn't show at our table to ask if we needed anything else. I believe she was new , nervous or extremely shy. Besides that, our appetizers were delicious, also the food was good. The environment is really awesome and the other waitress at our other tables were awesome. Just spending time with our party on a difficult time is priceless.
Great food, we ordered pickup because the wait on the inside was horrible, stood for 10 minutes without anyone even showing up to seat the people in front of us and it wasn't that busy inside. The parking lot was a bit dirty, the front door was clearly broken, they were out of certain types of drinks. The food we got was amazing and just like their tag line was made from scratch. Even the chips you could tell were made in house. I would highly recommend picking up a dinner from here as it is really good food, the inside though needs some work with the staff and the maintenance.
Had a nice experience. Definitely loved the butter croissants. Had the salmon with the whiskey glaze. If choosing that plate, I recommend getting the glaze on the side, it was a little to much after a few bites. But overall was good and cooked well. I recommend trying the cheddars painkiller if you like a sweet cocktail (FYI it has coconut).
It was a little wait but thank God for the manager (Becka) she was able to go in the back and make things happen. I watch as she move through the restaurant from front to make to make sure customer were attended to. Great leadership skills and very prompt. Our food was amazing thank you miss Beka job well done tonight. I definitely will go back with my family.
This place is fantastic! The food here is always amazing, especially the Monte Cristo with a strawberry drink. My server, Tyler, was phenomenal. Upheld a standard of customer service that I wish everyone held: a great attitude, good smile, and awesome conversational skills. Looks like my new go-to spot from now on! Awesome job, Tyler!
I absolutely love cheddars. My daughter took me out for my birthday. Waitress was amazing. The only problem was my daughter's food came out cold and mine came out hot. They did manage to fix it but we didn't get to eat together. After the appetizers we were pretty full of so we took the rest of the food home. The manager was very good though and helped a lot.
Absolutely fantastic overall experience. We had Skarlett as our server and she was incredible. She checked on us often, very attentive and made our first impression memorable. Especially those croissants! Restaurant was clean, food was delicious & came out fast. We will definitely make a plan to return.
OMG, the onion rings are THE BOMB at only $7.99. You get a LOT of food for the money. The breading on both the Beer Battered Shrimp and Chicken Fried Steak was very light. Nice atmosphere, our server was busy but still checked in on us. EVERYTHING WAS DONE TO 👌 PERFECTION. (NO, Im not a paid reviewer, lol)
My husband and I dropped in on a Sunday afternoon and this was our first time visiting. The place had a waiting list so we decided to sit at the bar and it was a great idea. The bar server that took care of us was a young man with very curly hair. He was very prompt to notice us upon sitting down at the bar area. Brought us our drinks in a timely manner and took our order without any problems. Our appetizer came out in a timely manner and as well as our main course meal. The food was the right temperature, generous portions and tasted absolutely great. We highly recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
Friday evening between 5 and 6. No wait. Ruby provided the best service we have ever had in the area in 3 years!! She was THE BEST! The food was just as outstanding. Everything we had was top notch! I was weary because of all the negative reviews recently but they knocked it out of the park ALL AROUND! Update: Everything was amazing again. Bambi is great as well!
i went on friday and let me say, food was good yeah but service was outstanding. first walked in and the host (a hispanic looking girl with glasses) was so so nice!!!

Stopped by on our way to Dallas . Food & ambience was good. But I would like to point out an amazing waiter (Juliann) that hat we had. Made our experience great!
Food Was awesome I had the chicken fingers with a peach tea. The waitress I had was really friendly and always check in on us to make sure we did not need anything. The ambiance was ok.

Waitress accommodated special requests and was very friendly. Oh those hot crescent rolls butter and touch of honey were awesume!! steak was ookef perfectly as requested.
The food here is 'mostly' scratch, but they do breading and fried really well. The server couldn't hear our order, so they didn't bring both appetizers and instead of 'Country-Fried-Chicken' they brought out Chicken-Fried Steak. I wasn't a fan of the latter, but none-the less it was well crafted for someone who might order it. I'd like to go back during lunch when it isn't so busy and give it a second chance.
Food was good. Love the onion rings. Server was friendly. The only reason they got a 4 was because I ordered the Texas Tea and they said they didn't have the Firefly. I told em to use another Vodka. Server came back and said the bartender said that Firefly is not Vodka. I told em to read the menu and to Google it. It specifically says on the menu Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka. They may want to train the bartenders better. I'm not ordering a drink from a bartender that doesn't even know what alcohol they use!
Has a awesome experience visiting Killeen Texas from South Carolina with my brother and daughter I had 6oz sirloin with grilled shrimp over a bed of rice with Caeser salad , my daughter had grilled chicken Alfredo, and my brother had grilled salmon with shrimp over rice and broccoli casserole . We also enjoyed the pain killer and coconut mule. Our server was wonderful and I enjoyed the honey butter crossiants. Will definitely be back when I visit again
Food 5/5: The chicken alfredo was flavorful. The steak was a little salty for my taste, but I just had a nibble from my wife's. My pic of the Alfredo also has my son's kids chicken from his Alfredo. My father's lemonade was like a fresh sqeezed lemon but the waitress promptly tried to make it right with checking the machine, getting a second one then again getting a different flavor which ended up being fine. Service/atmosphere 4/5: it wasn't that busy at 4:30pm, but our waitress would disappear. Our drinks were empty for a while and there were pieces of trash on the floor.
First time coming back here in a couple of years, the entrance was very decorative the wait time is what really killed us was not actually waiting to get seated but after we got seated waiting for a waitress we got buttered croissants very good like eating a cloud I also thought it wasn't too packed it wasn't reality as we expected with Christmas being in 2 days enjoyed an early Christmas dinner.
One could say it was bad timing but by the time we moved here Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen was going through a remodel. (Well, the roof caved in and they had a lot of work to do to restore.) We kept hearing about it being a place parents took their children and that it was very comfortable. Something clicked today that said, "Let's try Cheddar's." It was lunch time and we were greeted warmly as we entered. The inside was very nice and welcoming. We ordered the queso (not pictured because I dove right into it), their half-pound cheeseburger and their Buffalo chicken wrapper with fries. Queso was great...yes, I apologize and will get a photo next time...oops, spoiler. The burger was thick and cooked the way I like. The Buffalo chicken wrapper was perfection. The wife thinks she can nibble on it for a few meals as it was a massive plate of food. The fries were great...as was (another unphotographed item) a small side of broccoli cheese casserole. The service was friendly and courteous...a great experience overall. I can see us coming back soon. There is quite a big menu to explore but we are up for the challenge. I am thankful we finally got to check Cheddar's out.
Good food. Love the cheeddar bites. Service was good but not great. Delay getting our salads then got our entries immediately after. We hadn't taken more than 2 bites of the salads. Waitress never brought a refill and once the bill was paid we had to hunt her down for a printed receipt.
My wife and I decided to try Cheddars since they reopened. Not much has changed, all the benches were full and we were told it would be a15-20 minute wait. While waiting, I'm seeing several tables open that could have seated a party of two, or up to four. We sat down on unused beaches in the bar area, but were told, by the hostess, that we were not allowed to sit there, while waiting, even though the area was not being used, even after explaining that both my wife and I are disabled and have trouble standing for 15-20 minutes. After being seated, our server, Nicholas, greeted us promptly and his positivity made the wait worthwhile. He took great care of us,, keeping our glasses full and engaged us as needed, to ensure our satisfaction. Food came out in a timely manner, was served hot, and had great taste. Though we did see the manager, she never stopped to check on the patrons. We will give it a bit and try another visit.
The food and ambiance are pretty good. We got the country fired chicken and the lemon pepper chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. The drinks are pretty good, at least the frozen strawberry margarita and pain killer. I also had the Texas sweet tea, vodka, but I wasn't a huge fan.
Update 02/12/2023 the service was much better and I was excited to see they brought back some of my favorite items! We waited forever for our food because of some mix up as explained. They were apologetic and nice about it. We're even accommodating. The Food came out delicious and just as we remembered. Hopefully they continue to fix their operations to limit these kinds of mistakes. Well the food seems to be mostly pleasing at Cheddar's, but I'm still disappointed they got ride of a bunch of original items. The reason for 3 Stars and not 4 is, because the service we received wasn't very good. The waiter had a hard time keeping track of what he was supposed to be doing and kept forgetting to set our table. It got to the point we had to ask him if he had a pen and paper, as friendly advice, it might make his efforts a bit easier. The tea was prepped with half syrup and half tea sweet enough to kill a diabetic in on sip. The Food was staggered with either inconsistent prep or our wait kept forgetting to grab the plates. Also most of the drinks my group tried to order they were out of..... With that said I have never had an experience like this with Cheddar's. It's always been satisfying so I'm taking this as a fluke and will be trying this location again. Upon better service I will upgrade and update my review.

Or server was disorganized, didn't take our order as we said what we wanted. The food ok. My med steak with garlic butter and onions came out well with no onions or butter and cooked well. The New Orleans pasta looked so dry; like it was sitting under a heat lamp. We had to ask for sides that were ordered. And when we asked for togo containers we were given something that could hold a slice od cake. Couldn't get the coconut mule that we wanted to order because the dispenser was broken. It took the server 3 times to get our drink order correct. Server didn't clear the table as we finished and so.the table was cluttered as we tried to find room when new plates were being served. Very disappointing night out.
For the price of spinach dip there is no way I get more salsa then I do spinach dip. I asked the waiter if it was correct and she replied with “ the manager said yes”. How is the amount so different from when you dine in versus carry out. I literally came here just to r spinach dip and I I got half of a 4 oz serving. This is a rip off. This was the last straw for me.
Rocky starting off, after being seated it took a server about 10 minutes to greet me and ask for my beverage. My meal was missing broccoli and rice. 🍚 The rice took a long time to be brought out as well. The food was pretty decent nonetheless, server was polite, 3 stars from me❗️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cheddar's is a place a friend of ours loves and recommended us to go, we had a group of 6 people. We ordered the chips with cheese for an appetizer. The chips were very hard, but the cheese had great flavor and was nice and hot. We asked if we could have an order of the croissants and were told it would take about 15 minutes for them since they were in the oven. They did arrive just before our meals were served about 30 minutes later. I ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs with chicken tenders. The chicken tenders were hot, crispy and very juicy inside. The ribs sadly were very dry and not great. The broccoli had no flavor at all. For a drink i had an Arnold Palmer. It did have very good flavor with a nice amount of lemon aid. Sadly, the service was very slow, and she did not show good customer service skills. My friend has no silverware and asks her for some, I and my wife also asked for a refill of our drinks as well as some more BBQ sauce and the sauce for my wife's Monte Cristo. She did bring back the two sauces. The silverware, my friend went and got his own. I asked again for the drinks, she did finally bring them. The food was not great; the service was disappointing. Cheddars would not be my choice to go enjoy a great meal. At this location it is just like all the other average resturants.
I have not been to this cheddars in over ten years. We wanted to celebrate new beginnings and my friends mother. 1. The wait was so long we got bored looking at each other. The server was nice and pleasant but we didn’t get a second batch of croissant until after we had paid for our food. Everyone loved there food and the only complaint was I didn’t get to meet the cook who prepared our delicious lunch. The facility was clean and practicing social distancing but I saw a lot of empty tables. Me personally I would rather sit at a table waiting than to wait outside of a restaurant for two hours. I cannot say that I will come back again but the food was superb and I do highly recommend this as a date night, family night, or just get out the house great atmosphere
Don't like to post less than favorable reviews however, I feel like the service industry has gotten comfortable with just showing up sometimes. To be clear this is not always and not everywhere, and not everyone simple things if you're going to be wait staff you should not have to be asked or prompted for logical and basic things. When your seat your customers you should ensure they are supplied with the basic requirements to enjoy their meal as anticipated. When I sit at the bar I don't need silverware unless I order a meal when I said in a booth it's assumed I'm going to order a meal in most cases. If I order a cup of coffee it should be delivered with a teaspoon and possibly beside the sides that go with a potential cup of coffee. I should not have to ask for a teaspoon. If I do have to ask for a teaspoon and I asked someone cleaning up a table hey could you tell my waitress I need a teaspoon you would think but that individual cleaning up the table could just take it upon themselves to say hey your guy didn't get a teaspoon for his coffee I got him one because I'm right across the way but no, that doesn't happen and it takes 6 minutes to deliver that teaspoon. And when it's delivered it's delivered with a laugh like oh yeah! But yet we have comments All Over social media if you're going to eat out and not tip 30% don't bother to eat out. I'm sorry, I disagree wholeheartedly. Don't get me wrong I'm not the guy that leaves a penny or a dollar. But you're not going to get my respect if you don't anticipate my basic needs when I'm at your service. This is part of your job. To be clear all that was ordered for this day for two people was a bowl of soup a meal to go and a cup of coffee for the other person what was delivered was two cups of water a cup of coffee a bowl of soup and a meal to go.
Ordered to go - wait was 30 minutes according to the website (which was fine) but I ended up being parked there waiting for 20 minutes longer than my estimated time. Got the food and at first they didn’t have all the drinks. So when he went inside to grab the missing drink I checked the food and one of our meals was chicken on a bed of rice with green beans. It came with literally a spoonful of rice - that was disappointing but I’d waited long enough I wasn’t gonna say anything and have to wait longer.
Called to see about a wait list. The phone hung up 3 times when trying to transfer me. I hit option 2, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't take me straight to the hostess stand. Finally asked who answered the phone if there was a wait. They said no and that I could come in and be seated. Get there and was told a 15-minute wait. Let the hostess know what happened with me calling. We waited outside, and some time had passed. We went inside and sat down, and then a few minutes later, she called my name, and the text notification went off. We get seated. We ordered everything at once. We get the bread, then chips and dip. The chips looked like crumb pieces. A few minutes later, the food comes out. I ordered Dijon Chicken n mushroom over rice, loaded back potato n southern style green beans. Green beans were not it at all. The baked potato was so small. Sour cream would have hit the spot. But it was ok. The chicken was bland besides the Dijon taste, which I come to know that I don't like. But it wasn't overpowering, so I ate one chicken and brought the other one home. If it were more seasoned, that would have been great. (My boyfriend said his food was good. He had the plate with shrimp and pasta). There were tables with dirty dishes just sitting there. People were waiting for tables. I had only been in here 2 times years ago, and they were good experiences. That night, I just wanted to eat somewhere different that I thought wouldn't have a wait. But overall, it was ok. The server was a nice young lady.
Visited Cheddar's at 11:15AM for early lunch. Seated promptly - but I made a mistake and said a bar area booth would be OK. Very loud patrons unfortunately. music was a bit loud also. Wife had the …
First off the the food was pretty good. Steak was tender, first time I've ever had broccoli cheese yum. BUT WE HAD TO WAIT 30 MIN FOR TWO WATERS AND 56 MINUTES FOR OUR FOOD. Which was only two entrees and 4 sides. When we did finally get our food our server forgot our utensils and no napkins, which she gave us, the napkins, when we were about to leave. Just overall worst service I've ever had. Just terrible. Never eating in again maybe takeout only.
First, the bar has a terrible odor and needs to be deep cleaned. Now the details, I walked in approx 5:15. I tell the host I’d like a booth in the bar area. The host says ok, then turns her back and wipes down menus so I seat myself. I watched the bartender and dark haired fair skinned woman talk for 10min, the dark haired woman looked me in my eyes and never offered service (I got the call button so the table kiosk was obviously blinking). They depart, still no service so I ask the bartender for the manager. As she approaches I just start laughing because in the words of FUTURE “ain’t no way, ain’t no f’n way,” the “manager” was the same lady having a Kiki good time with the bartender. She says “oh the section is actually closed.” I’m like, so you let me sit here, looked me dead in my face and didn’t say a word! Never again! The whole situation was ghetto!
I’m so disappointed with how cheddars has been. This used to be my favorite restaurant. Me and my husband went to eat last week on a Wednesday. We were seated by the hostess who seems to have an attitude ok no problem every one has bad days. Took at least ten minutes for ur server to come over and greet us. No worries we knew exactly what we wanted just needed drinks as we already put the appetizer in the computer. Another couple was seated and every server came to greet them. We got our appetizer still no drinks. This family not only got their drinks but also a bar drink while our server was no where to be seen. Even the gentlemen who was off the clock mind you asked if he could get us drinks. We thanked him and said don’t worry about it as our toddler was getting frustrated and just done being there. We had now been waiting from being sat for thirty minutes at this point. That’s a lot to ask a two year old. Me and husband ended up calling it quits with no drinks or sign of our server left a $20 to cover the chips we ate with no drinks and proceeded to leave. I guess the guy who asked if he could get us drinks got a manager because he ran outside to stop us and apologize. Which was great gave us a $40 gift card and my $20 back. Well I tried it again tonight. I’m so disappointed. We got the chicken tender family platter. All I mean all of the chicken is over cooked and chewy. That was it I’m sad to say I will never come back. This really was my favorite restaurant. I even worked at this exact one as a server in 2010. Everything else was really good came home warm but we really wanted the chicken tenders and for them to be so overcooked it’s inedible.
Please tell me why I did a pick up and my caesar salad was drenched in an abnormal amount of dressing? Who premixes a togo salad anyways, it welted the lettuce and I couldn't eat it with all that stuff on it anyways. This is so ridiculous. I called to let the manager know and she didn't even say to come get a new one or asked to put it on file to get a replacement salad on our next visit. Customer service has really gone out the window. This place is hit or miss so choose wisely.
My wife and our friends ate dinner here on a Tuesday night. They were not busy, and there was only four of us. Overall the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, and clean. We were greeted by an overly timid and clumsy host who even stepped on my shoe and almost fell over. Once seated we waited for a server for almost half an hour, when she finally showed up she was extremely flushed and complained about how busy she was. She took our drink order and again dissapeared, this continued throughout the meal. We barely flagged her down for one drink refill. 3 of us ordered steaks and they were all cooked correctly and tasted great, Although they were a bit cold when they got to us.
Food and service is getting worse and worse. Ordered salmon dinner, it was lunch portion, it was bland, broccoli cheese casserole was mostly cheese very little broccoli. Waited for refill on lemonade. Food is bland anymore and portions have gotten smaller. Its disappointing being there anymore. Oct 24, 2023 Francis was friendly. Overall good server. Workers most of them screaming. Place and food are not worth it anymore. Sad use to be my favorite restaurant. Salmon tasted fried not grilled. Portions are 2 tablespoons. Dinner portions before and now.
Food was underwhelming especially the burgers and the pasta. When my food came (bacon cheeseburger) the bacon was dry as well as the burger itself. The fries were the only semi-apperizing thing that my plate had. My partners food (new Orleans pasta) came cold, it was dry and there was only two pieces of sausage. When asked for no shrimp , they still proceeded to put shrimp in food. The atmosphere and employees are angels . Would only recommend for alcohol / desert get together. Overall would okly recommend for atmosphere not food.
We waited for over an hour for our food. People who came in after us were served before us. My food was barely warm. Not our waitress fault I am sure.
02/02/26- We tried this place again on a Monday & the waitress never checked that the steak was cooked thoroughly. We could hear alot of chatter from the employees who many seemed young or new. After complaining to the waitress that my steak was more rare than medium rare, all she said was she would tell the cook. That they were probably being trained. I had to pull off about 1 cup of tough meat to take home to my dog so it didn't go to waste. My wife even asked a simple question and before she could finish, the waitress was already shaking her head to answer "No". Drinks took forever to be refilled and the waitress once asked if everything is alright and was already about half way turned around by the time she finishes the question... She was in such a hurry. My steak was seared well but it hardly got to proper internal temp that even the butter wasn't melted on top when the waitress brought it. It never got cooked long enough to be a medium rare. Just a rare. I don't like to cause a scene but I did inform the young lady that had the cook prepared my steak right, she'd have received a tip. I didn't like to have said that but I felt a little bad and realized after her sarcastic remark that I could hardly understand, that she probably thought I was being a jerk which isn't the case. I typically tip and tip well but Monday had me questioning if we will be back. It also has to do with her rushing questions and then taking longer than necessary to notice our empty glass when there wasn't many people.
The onion rings look simply amazing. I had heard they were good so I ordered some for pickup along with a couple of burgers. After getting home with my food (20 minute drive each way), I discovered they didn’t give me the onion rings. Called the restaurant and was on hold for 16 minutes to be hung up on by a guy asking if he could put me on hold again for a third time (after I told him “No”). That ticked me off. Called back, held my wrath, and finally was able to speak with the manager after about 5 minutes. She was pleasant and said she would refund the price onion rings. The burgers were okay, had a good flavor. I guess I won’t find out if the onion rings are any good.
Very disappointing experience. The first table they sat me in was not clean and I asked to move pretending I wanted an area that had better lighting. Didn't want to upset anyone. I asked the waitress if she forgot about me after sitting about 10-15 mins to take my order. She grinned while saying she started doing some cleaning then realized I was here waiting. Most likely texting or just doing nothing bc there was food on the carpet and the adjacent table was empty and not cleaned the entire time I was there. There was no cleaning going on at this place. No excuse since it seemed like I was the only one in the entire place at 3 in the afternoon. I ate wondering if the kitchen was just as bad and if the food was safe to eat. I got a bit disgusted and asked for my main entré to go. Yuck! I'm not going back to this location again. No sign of a manager or anyone in charge to correct this.
UPDATE: We were having a family birthday dinner with 5 adults and 2 toddlers on a Sunday night. Since they don't take reservations, one member of our family got there early to get us on the list, because we had follow-on reservations at another venue for a family event. We were all seated just before 6 pm, the time we thought we needed in order to make our other event at 7:50, giving us an hour and a half to get our food and eat (we needed to leave the restaurant by 7:30). We got our drinks and ordered right away, but unfortunately, our food did not come out until after 7:10 pm. We rushed to eat, but my wife's pork chops were too salty for her to eat. Even our daughter's steak was overly salty. We did not have time to send the food back, although they did credit us for the pork chop meal. The server told us there was a large party on the other side of the restaurant that was slowing down the kitchen. The food was well below average for our meal. I got the Monte Cristo sandwich to try something different, and it was a big mistake. Overall, we were disappointed with our meal and were surprised how much of a different experience we had from past meals here. The server was fine, but the food services as well as the food taste were disappointing. There was not enough time to even talk with a manager, because we were already late leaving for our follow-on event. ORIGINAL REVIEW: My wife and I were out shopping and stopped at Cheddar’s in Harker Heights on a Tuesday for lunch at 12:30 pm. We have been at this location several times over the last couple of years and the food has always been good, as it was for this meal. Compared to similar restaurants of this type, the prices are also reasonable. We started with the Homemade Onion Rings, which are served with ranch and Cajun dipping sauces. This was a large tower of onion rings that could be shared by a party of 4. The onion rings were cooked right with a crispy coating and were not overly greasy. We both enjoyed the onion rings, and I really liked the Cajun dipping sauce. The server brought us two Honey Butter Croissants to try. Wow! They were light and fluffy, and we loved the honey butter drizzled over them. My wife got the Philly Cheesesteak with fries. It is a large sandwich, and it was good, but there could have been more seasoning or maybe some mayonnaise to give it more flavor. I got the Full Rack of Baby Back Ribs with a loaded baked potato and cole slaw. The rib meat fell off the bones and the flavor was good, except that some of it was a little dry. The ribs were meaty, and it was an extra-large portion. If you are going to get ribs outside of a BBQ place, this is an okay option. Overall, the food was good, and we enjoyed the meal. Our server, Liz, was very friendly and attentive. It was not crowded during lunch and because of the reasonable prices, it is a good place to stop and grab some food.

This cheddars is horrible their service is horrible and take out is even worse . Tonight I waited on the phone 20-30 minutes just to order . This is not the first time they have don’t that . I get there tonight my food is cold , order is totally incorrect . Charged me for croissants and told me they would take 30 more minutes. Then Manager told me I couldn’t get a refund .
I usually order from this restaurant alot and have always have a phenomenal experience, however when I decided to call in an order today the lady who answered the phone was very rude. I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and decided to just go ahead with the order. Called at 4:30....I arrived at the establishment at 4:53pm and called like I was instructed to do to let them know I was outside and what spot number I was in. A different lady I spoke to whom seemed nicer told me someone would be out in a few..... 5:25pm a lady finally comes out to collect my payment mind you I only ordered one entree and one side. Customer service was very rude and not up to par. It shouldn't have taken that long with me and one other car waiting for someone to come out and acknowledge the people waiting outside. Understand being short staff (I don't know if they actually were short-staffed) but at least common courtesy would be to come out apologize for the wait..... just a common acknowledgement and not even that was given for and then when the lady came out of the order she had a bit of an attitude. Will not be coming back to this establishment very unacceptable. And now I'm home looking at my order and it was very sloppily put together. I usually always no mattwr what leave a tip...im glad I didnt this time. 17.83 down the drain. *the thing on my fork is a fry I think* didnt order fries. (Alfredo with no meat* croissant..and a side salad)
Ribs were dry, over cooked, food wasn't hot. The watriess didn't do anything. The ribs taste at least 2 days old. Fries cold, bake potato I asked for loaded. Only got che🤣
We normally always have a good experience there, but today we sat there for 10 min with no one helping us or greet us. Good amount of ppl but not packed, no waiting time. After that we just left
I'm not a big fan of Cheddars, but one of my kids chose it for their birthday. I ordered country fried steak and man it is nasty. It came out hanging off the plate so I knew I'd be having it for leftovers. I cut into it and quickly noticed it was mostly breading. I had a few bites and felt like I had eaten a bowling ball. The breading is spicy (?) the steak was mushy and the coating was so thick and cooked improperly that the breading around the steak was raw. Took it home thinking maybe I could fix it in the oven. Nope. Just really nasty. Our waitress was really sweet and the service was good. Just don't order the country fried steak 😩
Sales reps beware!!! Not timely or professional. I ordered a to go order for pick up at 11 o’clock to take to a business meeting. I was still in line and my order was not ready at 11:20. I spoke to the manager to let him know I would now be late for my meeting, he told me It’s because I had an 11 pick up time but they open at 11 so I ask why they had availability to do an 11 o’clock pick up then he said it’s because someone in front of me ordered salmon to me. This was extremely unprofessional and I will not be ordering From them again
If I can put a 0 i would they stuck us at a dirty table then brings us over cooked and under cooked cold food dirty knifes horrible waiter manger claims they didn't have one 4 us then why sit us then tryed to over charge us gave us nasty service an food an didn't offer to make anything right messed up my husband birthday never again
4pm on a Saturday with a half empty restaurant and people are being told 30min plus wait for a table. This poor experience is due to very poor management. To watch a manager walk by groups of people waiting to eat and not address why there was a wait. He want on to speak about the hostess going on a break. Don’t waste you time with this location there is nothing at Cheddars worth the overly long wait durning a slow time of day.
Don’t go on a busy day like today Mothers Day. Didn’t mind waiting over two hours cause I really wanted salmon. It was dryer than normal, the potatoes seemed old. I called and let them know how the rolls were served and a lead told me to come in and speak with a manager. I’m not going too. Instead I’m sharing the experience, cause this was vastly underwhelming.
This was our first time. Not a good impression at all. We sat down. Waited 5 minutes till a server came to ask us our drinks. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer and decided that we already knew what we wanted so we ordered the 16 oz steaks as well. We got our appetizers and our drinks with no napkins. Then we waited an additional 10 minutes before we even got napkins and I had asked for extra Ranch and that took them about 20 minutes. Then before we're even done with our appetizers they bring our steaks. We ordered salads but didn't get them until after we got the steaks. And guess what we still didn't have? Silverware to eat our steaks with. Then they brought out the salads still no silverware. We then told the waiter we wanted to speak with a manager. When the manager comes up are steaks are sitting in front of us and she asks us what's wrong with our steaks and why we aren't eating them. Told her it would be kind of hard to eat without any silverware. Even after telling the manager it still took an additional 10 minutes to get silverware. My husband got up and went to the bathroom and came back hoping there'd be silverware. They took our steaks back and then brought us new ones but we're out of baked potatoes. Just seems like they did not care at all about the waste of food or the waste of our time waiting to eat with our food sitting in front of us but no silverware. The manager called the entire meal except for a draft beer. All in all horrible service horrible customer service horrible food. Don't go to this one try another. Pictures below show all of our food on the table with no silverware! Our steaks were being redone because they got cold waiting for 15 almost 20 minutes for silverware on top of the time we had already waited for silverware alone.
Went today (4/3/25) to get lunch with my friend, we were set in a darker cooler area of the restaurant. My friend went and asked the hostess if we could sit by the window since it would be warmer and brighter. She was rudely told no that it wasn’t possible, when my friend pointed other people had window seating, the hostess stated it was a large group and they had to be seated there. My friend asked for her name (no name tag) and again rudely was told she didn’t have to be told that. The manager got involved because he overheard and told us we could move where we wanted, the place was so empty, I didn’t understand the problem. Our waitress came and was super sweet and took our order and everything seemed great, as we were eating, I was listening and talking to my friend and all of a sudden I see this roach behind her head. I tell her don’t move because I know how afraid she is. Of course she jumps and freaks out. A bus boy is near and he tried to get it but I told him we needed proof. The manager is close again and he sees it for himself. Of course he was nice and comps our meal but we just want everyone to be aware that this restaurant isn’t being sprayed obviously. Eat at your own caution.
Walked in around 3:15PM on a Tuesday, so naturally it goes without saying the restaurant is not even close to busy and seating shouldn't take 10 minutes. Nevertheless it did take 10 minutes to seat my wife my child and myself at a table due to them cleaning the table for us. Well I posted a picture of the table beside us that stayed filthy the entire time we eat our lunch and never did get cleaned, along with food stains and smudges all over my food menu. The fried were overcooked and tasted like they were cooked in week old oil. The bacon looks like it sat out for a year then they threw it into the microwave. The staff was super friendly, but I will not visit this location ever again. As soon as I grabbed the grubby menu it left a bad taste in my mouth and I couldn't enjoy any part of my experience at this Cheddar's location. Management should take just a little pride in having a clean restaurant. Especially during the week during slow hours..
Me and my daughter normally order here bout 3 /4 times a week lately the baked potatoes be too hard same as broccoli and yesterday it hard and not seasoned order fish and chips the fish was hot fries was cold , on 4/4/24 I had an order for pick up it says it was going to be ready at 4pm I arrived 4:07 didn't get order until 4:40p potatoes and broccoli was hard that day i called the manager he said he can make it right by refunding or a gift card with a lil more than the ticket, I choose gift card he would email it same day, I assume he forgot to email it because I never got it so I called following day and a different manager is there and wasn't aware of the situation and I tried to give him ticket number but he said he didn't need it so he emailed me one I'm just going to take a break from here for a while it was my favorite place
Cheddar's has absolutely LOST our interest. This used to be my favorite place to dine and have a steak, but that all changed when my wife noticed hairs wrapped around her knife right after she cut up her chicken salad. The manager did say she would comp our whole meal for the evening, but also tried to argue the fact of how adamant she is with the staff about the silverware. If that was the case we would've never ran into that problem. Very unimpressed with Cheddar's. The food is too good to display this lack of service. Need to do better. We're afraid to go back. The front door is also broken so it slams and kills your ears while waiting to be seated.
I just arrived in killeen texas for the firdt time was taken to this restaurant the service was fantatsic the atmospere pleasant. Everyone was really nice from host to the servers. The only reason we tipped. Now on to the food. The food really really horrible and over cooked. The ribs were extremely dry. Everything was drenched in salt. The two people that were with me also had food drenched in salt. I informed the waitress who talked to the manager who gave her a card for a free appetizer to give to us. We paid our bill that was over 100.00 and left. The Cook on January 21, 2026 should not be a cook and the manager needs hospitality training. The manager never came out to address the situation but instead dismissed us with a coupon card for a free appetizer for next time. I've never experienced food drenched in salt like that. It was a crazy experience 😳
Crossaints cold, barely any honey butter. We were a group of 5, food warm. Eventually different homes and we all got sick with severe diarrhea. I haven't been at this restaurant in months, because food is not hot, drinks return for lack of taste and alcohol. Not going back. Started visiting on 2012, not ever again..
I’m not sure what happened tonight, but our service was extremely disappointing. Our waiter, a bleach-blonde gentleman, started off fine, but things quickly went downhill. When we asked about croissants, he responded by saying, “I can’t guarantee anything because we’re so busy.” That already felt dismissive. After that, he never once checked back in on our table. He didn’t ask if we needed anything, didn’t offer refills, and didn’t follow up on our food. When our meals arrived, everyone at the table received their food except me. I was still waiting on a cup of soup and a side salad. I watched him hold about a 7 minute conversation with a different table discussing TJ Max all while we needed assistance. I only received my order after getting the manager involved. From that point on, our waiter completely avoided us. He wouldn’t make eye contact, barely spoke, and only used gestures like a thumbs up instead of communicating verbally. It honestly felt like he shut down. Throughout the rest of the meal, my family needed refills and additional assistance, but no one came to check on us. We were essentially ignored. This experience was frustrating and disappointing. Customer service and basic communication go a long way, and unfortunately, that was completely lacking tonight. Management seriously needs to address service standards and staff accountability.
I visited Cheddar’s for a 74th birthday dinner with my family today, and what should have been a simple celebration became a completely unacceptable experience. Our server referred to my cousin as “Pookie,” which is not only unprofessional, but also tied to negative stereotypes — including a well-known drug-addicted movie character. That is not her name, not a term of endearment, and certainly not appropriate for a professional environment. Being addressed like that in public was offensive, disrespectful, and beyond inappropriate. When we informed Manager Rebecca, things only went downhill. She offered to comp the meal, but the problem was never financial. It was about basic respect and proper handling of a serious concern. She assured us she would “take care of it,” yet we watched the same server continue serving other guests as if nothing happened. Instead of demonstrating leadership, she switched our server and chose to send an African American server to our African American table. That decision felt stereotypical, tone-deaf, and created even more discomfort. When I got home, I called to get the server’s name for my review. Suddenly, no one seemed to know who I was referring to. I asked for Rebecca, and she refused to come to the phone — even after THREE call attempts. I spoke with Mia and Dearius and could never get the manager on the phone. At that point, it was obvious she never intended to address the situation. She simply said whatever she needed to in the moment to quiet the issue. There was never an apology from the server!! Let me add cold food and orders were mixed up. That really let us know it probably would not be addressed. A birthday dinner should never end with this level of disrespect and frustration. I will be emailing corporate, because the way this was handled — and then ignored — is unacceptable and unprofessional. Cheddar’s needs serious training on cultural awareness, customer respect, and accountability.
My wife & I went here last night and it was ok at first. We were sat to eat by a nice hostess and then things got weird. There was a commotion in another seating area. Loud screaming and confusion. Kinda gave my wife a scare. We then ordered our food, my wife(pregnant) ordered a spinach dip and I ordered a shrimp pasta. As we sat and waited for our food to arrive, the commotion started to creep folks out and they started to order their food to go. We did not. Our dip arrived and it was delicious, until my wife got to the very last bit and found a piece of wood in her dip! This made me very upset! I had to go retrieve the manager myself. When I did, Chris was his name. I asked him how could this happen? This could have been a very dangerous situation for my wife or our unborn child! He offered to remove the item from our ticket and replace it for free. At this point my wife was already feeling unsure about eating anything else that came from the kitchen! We love this place and were very disappointed in the nonchalant attitude from the manager about the situation! We will not be eating here anymore. They lack in food safety and food quality. We still paid $30 for food that we didn’t trust eating. This is not ok!
