Food was delicious. Staff was very friendly and price was great. It was out on a side street but I strongly suggest it. We ordered an eight piece family meal for two. More then enough.

Good food. Friendly service. We loved it before the remodel. Now it's all new. Still the great food and service. It's nice to have somewhere to go that isn't burgers, chicken, or Mexican food. Costs less than lunch at McDonald's. We spent a lot of time with British expatriates so we acquired a taste for fish and chips with malted vinegar.

Gotta say when I first entered there, the staff was very welcoming and provided wonderful service. The food is amazing and would recommend this place to friends and family for future visits. Keep being awesome guys!

Very sick restaurant. The concept of combining both fried chicken and seafood is as swag as it is unique. If you want some good food, this is definitely the place. Leagues better than Burger King and Popeye's, that's guaranteed.

Very good customer service and 2 thumbs to the cook best southwest salmon tacos I have had compared to other John Long Silver and my husband plate was packed that he could not finish it and he usually finish it. Amazing dish loaded with big pieces of fish and chicken and French fries. Just need little more attention on cleaning the dining area. Yet other then that was a very good expirance highly recommend. Was greeted by a pleasant young woman. Place needed a good cleaning. When we sat down to eat the crew was laughing so loud that it was distracting to talk to my family. They were joking about something and started making gagging/vomiting sounds that made all of us at the table lose our appetites.

I was at the drive though yesterday 10/7/23 and the gentleman took my order and was patient since I haven’t been there in years. He was respectful at the window and the food was super hot and fresh! I don’t know why I don’t go more often! Keep up the good work!

Great Salmon grill and shrimp plate, if you are in a budget but still trying to eat kind of healthy, this place is good option plus, they have cute vintage vibe kind of cool like a special charm, their employees are really nice, we only missing a beer we will be regulars, love their hushpuppies

It had been a while since we visited a LJS location that the food did not taste like old grease. THIS LOCATION IS WONDERFUL. No bad taste here. The portion size was perfect, not like they cut back to save costs like the other locations apparently have. Highly recommend this location.

Picked up some chicken planks for Football Sunday, drive thru. Very polite and friendly staff! Food was fresh and hot and takeout order was correct. I felt bad, I rushed out to pick it up and took no cas with me. I did mobile order in advance and didn't think of a tip until after the extremely polite service:( I'm going to have to double up the tip next trip there in a few days:)

Haven't been to a LJS in probably 30 years and all the greatness I remember was magnified by 10! The chicken was so juicy! The fish was delicious and in true LJS fashion, tasted almost like the chicken! 🙃So flaky and delicious! The girl in the drive-thru was so friendly and personal.

Food was made fresh since I went late in the evening… Theresa was super friendly. She apologized for the slight delay since they were making it so it would be nice and hot. All my condiments were in my to go bag and I will definitely go again. Thank you!

I gave it 5 stars because my friend and I enjoyed the food, the service and the atmosphere. We both ordered the same thing. $6 plate. However, she used the vinegar to put on her shrimp, whereas I did not. It was at the lowest and had just enough in the bottle in order for her to finish her meal. However, she became extremely ill with hours. We both now realized that she would not be sprinkling her shrimp with vinegar from Long John. I will reiterate my friend and I enjoyed the food, the service and the atmosphere. It's still a 5 stars resturant for us.

We rarely eat at Long John’s, when we do its usually through the drive thru. We dined in tonight and I’m glad we did. Food was fresh, restaurant was clean and best part was the service Cereza provided. She had a smile the whole time and the friendliest cashier we have had anywhere.

Battered fish lovers, this is for you! Unlike many restaurants, the fish here is consistently tender and flaky, and if you are dining in, you don't have to wait around the counter to pickup your food when it's ready. They will bring it to your table. That's well above most fast food restaurants, excellent maybe, Chick-fil-A. I can't vouch for other food items though.

The service was really good the food was amazing the location reminded me of how It used to look like when was a kid back in my hometown overall I can say that I'm really happy with my experience I can't wait to come back

Today is Ash Wednesday, and the restaurant was exceptionally crowded, with no available seating. It was quite warm inside, which was understandable given the number of patrons. Despite that, the overall experience was excellent. The food was fresh, served hot, and arrived promptly. The staff was attentive and consistently checked in to ensure we had everything we needed, including refills. Both the service and the quality of the food were outstanding. I will certainly be returning.

Went through the drive thru and was not disappointed! From the young lady that took our order, Alazay, who was extremely nice and personable to the fresh hot food we received! Definitely recommend coming here!

Is it me why did they changed the fries don't like the waffle fries over fried & dry, coleslaw was bland, fish coating was bad, was surprised tis has never to me before always like going to this location for some fish and sides,what a disappointment ☹️

The fish was good, FF's not so much. They have waffle fries which when cold are tough and chewy.Staff very nice. It looks run down. Needs updating , painting and refinishing.

Good food. Took about 30 minutes from placing my order to getting it and leaving. I ordered a grilled shrimp plate with rice and green beans. 6 hush puppies. One krab cake and 4 pies. Staff were friendly. Building can use an upgrade though. There is no screen to double check your order. Could use some lines on the drive thru to make it look orderly. When we first got there I thought it was closed cause there's no open sign.

The people there were very polite they didn't have tartar sauce which I found a bit odd but the food was good just greasy. Definitely Long John silver's style food though

It had been awhile since I had eaten at Long John Silvers because it was being remodeled. The place looks really nice on the outside, I went through the drive thru and I have to say they were very efficient . No waiting what's seems to be an eternity in line and the food was hot without any mistakes. The only thing is the food was a little too greasy. Don't get me wrong I know it's going to be greasy and I love that but this was a little to much. Could have just that batch of overly greasy food. Next time I'll get the grilled tacos ..lol

I love the food just that I time they gave me a raw chicken. Thankfully it was mine and not my kids. Brought it to there attention got a new plate And the manager went around making sure everyone else was OK. It was handled nicely. Just sort my chicken was raw

The staff is always very friendly, fast, and courteous. I limit my visits now to when I have a coupon because of their prices and my limiting the consumption of deep fried food. I prefer to use the drive through because the store smells inside like sewer gas is leaking in. I see on Google Map that they are next door to a sewage treatment plant, but I never smell any odors outside. Hey LJS, no $1.99 fish and fries, no see me.

Food was great customer service sucked. Ordered 3 combos and got one ketchup, one tartar sauce, and a packet of lemon. I asked the rude lady for more and she asked how many and gave a ugly stingy look like they were all hers. This location has been going up in price in the past year. Now the combos don't come with a drink!!! Will no longer eat there, I rather drive 10 miles to enjoy good service from LJS.

Well, I'm not a big seafood/fish eater, but I always enjoy Long John Silvers. Service was good, restaurant was clean. But...the building needs some TLC. Main door needs to be repaired. Woodwork and trim is rotted.

Long john Silvers is back and the restaurant is smaller than it used to be. The food honestly is not the same . Personally it makes my stomach hurt. To each is its own.

Love the food I really do because it's so delicious and would love to keep Long John Silvers going. But this rude worker name Melinda G was so rude yelling at me and cutting me off when I asked for extra sauces. She had tattoos on her neck.

This location is very stingy with their fries and condiments. If you substitute a side for fries they just add about 2-3 extra fries. For condiments, give them a number or get nothing. The franchise owner must be a dark, old, stingy person that has the manager scared out of her mind. And forget about coupons, if you save money they save money, expect a smaller portion. The food is cooked fresh though.

Tried the salmon tacos they were drenched sauce, cabbage was welted, was not very good. On top of that the fish smelled bad. Fries had Soo much salt. Chicken strips and hush puppies were good. Too bad they didn't have sweet n sour sauce or any sauce to go with them. Not a good visit at all. They used to be really on point before. I don't know what happened.?

WORST food ever. For one, The reason I hate drive thru, they got my order wrong. Second fries were cold and seems like they were from the lunch hour. Third, the chicken, two small pieces to make as a one piece, and also they were tough and dry. It will probably be a year for me to go back again. TERRIBLE!!!!!

THEY HAVE WORMS IN THEIR FISH!! I ordered the 12 piece family meal. I asked for half fish & half chicken. Well my fish had a worm in it! I immediately called & talked with a lady who said she is a manager, she apologized & said she would replace the 6 fish, but i asked her if she can just replace them for chicken instead because I don't want to risk finding another worm in the fish. She told me that will work for her & I can pick up that day or the next. I went the next day but she wasn't there so I spoke with some guy who said he was a manager & supposedly the girl manager I spoke with didn't tell him anything. He was refusing to replace the 6 fish for chicken & said he's been a manager there for "MANY" years & has "NEVER" seen a worm in any of their fish. He started interrogating me asking a bunch of questions and not letting me finish my answers. He asked, "how did you even see it in their, why didn't you bring it back immediately, who did you speak with again when you called about it, did you post it on social media?", and so on. I felt as if he thought I was making the whole thing up. He asked me to send him the pictures to his phone and I did. Then he told me "well i spoke with my boss & he said to only replace 1 fish for chicken, and honestly, we don't even know if that's OUR fish you could have gotten it from somewhere else. We get a lot of people who try to get their food free." I was so appalled by his reply! I'm not broke to the point I want free food! I just wanted some worm-free fish that I paid for! His interrogative actions and responses were beyond unprofessional! All I wanted was what the first manager (which was the lady) promised me. She was very nice and apologetic, but that male manager who claimed he'd been working there for over 5 years was VERY rude. I don't see how, or why anyone would make HIM a manager.

Without fail I've never left happy. Over priced for nothing. They always ask you to pull up after paying and it takes minimum of 12mins or more to get your food. Came today on 12/30/23 and the girl with a buz cut walked up to us only staring at her phone and texting at around 7:45pm. Never looked up once while passing the food over.

Should have turned around and left as soon as we walked in, the place had a sewer smell, but we ordered food anyway, got our food both meals were old not fresh appeared to be left over microwaved fish and chicken, the breading was chewy, and disgusting tried to eat it because we were hungry, but could not take anymore, went to the manager and showed him (I will say I was not polite sorry for that) but the manager offered to give us a fresh meal I refused as I was disappointed in the first meal that should have been fresh to begin with. Sooo disappointed in the quality of food. Ordered a fish sandwich and wanted to say “where’s the fish?” I couldn’t “Find Nemo” Honestly the tiniest fish strip, all there was was bread and pickles! The small basket of waffle fries - I could count on one hand how many pieces were there. The salmon “bowl” had a tiny piece of salmon on top of a thin layer of wet rice. The fish and chicken platter had no taste. All the food tasted BLAND and oily. The only good taste was the drinks. Sorry no pictures , was too embarrassed to take any. Save your money because it doesn’t come cheap, and No, I didn’t ring the bell, should have an option to take it down! lol

I grew up eating LJS..it was reasonable & not too bad for fastfood..but now for the money their charging they should make the food worth it.. fish is greasy & the fries are stale.. once ok but twice hell no.. then they give u a look when u ask for fresh fries.. I'm sorry but that's it not going their again.. people before u leave with ur food check ✅ it.. unless you like throwing ur money away...

I ordered the 3 piece chicken meal. No drink. I was surprised at how small the chicken tenders are and the waffle fries were very dry. I was also surprised at the price. This meal was not worth the $12 that I paid. Disappointed. 😒

It’s with a heavy heart that I update my 5 star review to a 1 star. I grew up eating the food and had some very fond memories of this place. However I visited a week ago and was blown away with how bad the food has gotten. The food quality has gotten so much cheaper for one. The once great fries have been replaced with some cheap waffle fry variety. The chicken and fish on my last visit were soggy and wet not perfectly crispy like before. Even the hush puppies are worse. They were once golden brown and had a nice crunch on the outside. Now they’re some weird light brown color and they’re mushy as well. The food wasn’t cheap either. Save your hard earned money. Go someplace else for dinner and thank me later.

What's up with the MINI chicken planks!!! The chicken looks like chicken nuggets! Nothing like before the new restaurant! I was in Rio Grande City and their chicken planks were decent! I'll drive to another City before going back to Harlingen again! I ordered online, got to the drive-thru lane, and my order wasn't ready. The car in front of me who took about 10mins to order got all their food and left. I was asked to park and given the excuse ( it's because they have two separate orders rows inside the kitchen). How is that fault? You don't have curbside, so I picked up my order through drive-thru. It's frustrating! Our food was horrible, wait time crazy, staff doing okay, just slow. Sorry, I won't come here anymore. Thank you

Went through the drive through. Order taker kept talking over us as we ordered and was talking so fast we could barely understand him. Got to the window and paid but wasn't the person taking the orders. Horrible drive through experience. Should send them through Chick-fil-A to see how it's done.

The person taking orders before the drive through skipped my vehicle and it seemed like he did it on purpose. He took all the orders in front of me and behind me after I passed him. As I got near the window I honked to him and he said I have to keep going and get my order taken in the window. I this was sad seeing the customers in front of me receiving their food quickly. I told the lady in the window my order wasn't taken as she thought I had already ordered and was gonna charge me for the food for the car behind me. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! NOOOOOT!.
