We had Monica as our server and she was awesome!
Food was really good. Service was great too. I would definitely go back again!
Awesome hole in the wall. Chile Relleno was incredible.
Just left, and the service and atmosphere was amazing. Very friendly beautiful individuals that work there. And the Salsa was on point!!!!!
Great food, I ate there 3 times while visiting a friend down the street
Great tasting food. Awesome setting right by the beach and good customer service!
Great el pastor tacos with guac. Don't eat inside by the windows. Lots of flys.
Excellent food, service, open air eating. Highly recommend!
Really good chicken burrito and fast service.
Baja and Grilled Fish Tacos were oh soooooo good! Servers were awesome! Thank you!
The day I got married, the days my kids were born, the day El Tarasco opened in Hermosa Beach.
Phenomenal. For years El Tarasco has been my go-to, and the only thing I really order is the El Tarasco burrito, just meat, onions, cilantro & the absolutely delicious green salsa, plus I add cheese extra. A few of my Thai friends rave about the carnitas, but I usually go asada, but both fantastic, can't go wrong. Also the chips and red salsa are great, the people friendly and cheerful, and the beers cold. Plugs too if need to charge phone or laptop. My favorite Mexican food in SoCal.
Delicious Mexican Food ! Our waitress Monica was amazing, they were a bit busy and yet she was quick with taking our orders and bring our food. Not to mention had a very friendly attitude, definitely coming back !
Service was awesome! Food delicious! Loved being able to sit outside and enjoy the weather!
I had a dry burrito and a bottle of larger. they was a nice lass serving on and food was great . 👍
Excellent food and service. Treated like regulars by Monica even though it’s our first time here! Definitely will be coming back to see her again.
Exactly what I wanted on friday night. the food was great, the service was wonderful, and it was a great price!! Will be returning
The recepies and the food are the same but i gotta say I was impressed, my meal was great. I even told the cook the food was excellent. Keep up the great work!
Not the best Mexican ever, but in such a touristy place, it definitely deserves 5 stars!
cheesy tamale, steak burrito deluxe, corpna Chelada, beef taco, quesadilla, Chile relleno. all excellent in flavor and service was good.
We loved coming to El Tarasco! The food is awesome and the service was excellent. Monica especially looked after us. We will be back! 😃
Great staff! Monica was amazing and really attentive. Totally recommend! Delicious food as well this place has it all🙌🏻
¡La comida es muy deliciouso ! Our server Monica was very kind and provided excellent hospitality.
Good food, good drinks, staff was friendly. We are outside and enjoyed the views and people
You can't go wrong with El Tarasco. It's good food, what you expect, and consistent. The staff are always friendly, and helpful if you need it.
We have been back here twice this week! The food has been delicious each time and the staff is some of the most friendly people ever! Last night Monica was our server and she went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable outside with our pup
This restaurant is fairly new to this area but if you like Authentic and Delicious Mexican food, this is the place to be people!😉 BTW, when you decide to give it a try, please ask for Monica. She is the awesome server who is both friendly and attentive. Two qualities that you look for at any business but lately, they are are hard to come by. So, as a Mexican ftom GDL, I promise that you won't be disappointed😉
the food is really fresh and tasty, I had deluxe burrito with roasted veggies, chips are fresh and crunchy and salsa nice and spicy - will defo be back
This place was amazing! We ordered a wet burrito de carnitas from the Happy Hour menu. And let me tell you, it was the best plate I've ever had. The burrito is big and filled with delicious ingredients. The servers were very nice and friendly. I enjoyed my experience here.
We decided to stop here after out lovely day at the beach. Im SSSOOOO glad we did. Mexican food isn't my usual go to, we decided to mix it up. I love the overall atmosphere of the restaurant, it still has the local "hole in the wall" family friendly restaurant. We got a variety of food from combo plates, enchiladas, California burrito, fried fish, and a hard taco kids meal. All the food was amazing!! My whole family loved it! We will definitely be back when we are back in town on vacation. Also had a good watermelon margarita
Stopped in off the sidewalk for the $3 Coronas. We had chips on the house with delicious salsa. Ended up staying for soft tacos which were great. Come on in, street parking is free until the Holidays!
Recommend the california burrito and orange bang. The california burrito was solid. I also called for a 16 oz orange bang and got complimentarily upgraded to 32 oz and got some tortilla chips for free. Only thing is when ordering through a call, you should state how much salsa you want - I got one (which is a bigger container than the ordinary small container) but recommend two. This was partly mb
Living in the South Bay for 55 years it's the one and only best. As a kid my favorite Jr. Super Deluxe was $2.75 and now only 5x more at $15.50 (50 years later) and still a great value. The outdoor seating option is great in downtown Hermosa Beach just a short stroll to Hermosa Beach Pier.
Best salsa in La along with Campos Tacos. They are a similar style of Mexican food if you ever had them. Although, I go to El Terasco for their amazing shrimp burritos. Never disappointed so freakin good especially mojadooooooo
Had the pleasure of having Monica as our waitress! I brought family here and had never been before. Monica made the experience a 10/10! So happy she took care of us.... she was on top of everything and made our experience great!
Amazing burritos that were super large. We hit up the $11.50 wet burrito special on a Saturday. They have only bottled beer, but that appears to change soon. The added outdoor pato is nicely appointed. The street noise was surprisingly low.
Polite and friendly, great outdoor spot. I wanted some late night tacos and enchiladas and I was very happy with the results here!
Our waitress Monica was extremely friendly and enthusiastic, she really lit up the room and made my visit to this restaurant a 10/10. The food and service were both great and quick. Definitely will stop by to eat here again when i’m in the area & i will specifically be asking fo Monica! (:
I’ve only been here once but it was great. There was a bit of a wait because it was cinco de Mayo and there were 3 Mexican sisters singing and playing the violin, the bass and the guitar. My husband and I had a great time. Food was also good we had sopes.
Superior customer service. Monica was friendly and knowledgeable. My husband loved her recommendation for his burrito. Nice outdoor seating. QR code on the table for contactless ordering. The portions are generous. We’ll be back the next time we are in town.
Absolute GEM in the City of Hermosa Beach! Excellent food. Awesome outside patio to enjoy your food and the wonderful ocean breeze. I had the chorizo breakfast plate. Good authentic beans, rice, and real chorizo not the fake stuff! Our waitress, Monica I believe, was very attentive and nice with great customer service. It is only a block or 2 from the pier and beach itself. I WILL BE BACK! Love this place👍
The breakfast burrito chorizo and eggs was very nice also Pier Avenue all up and down Hermosa Beach is amazing it's a beautiful Sunday a little bit overcast but nonetheless you should come out hang out it's a very family-friendly atmosphere you'll notice plenty of people bringing their families having stuff to eat and there's electric vehicle parking up and down and they take coins and credit cards there's also plenty of businesses for health Wellness Beauty plenty of restaurants to eat and drink some hot yoga Fitness I even come over here and I do my laundry so it feels like a perfect area
We showed up on Taco Tuesday and loved it! Try the shredded beef tacos.
Very good food, huge portions, pretty authentic. Had Fish Taco and Shrimp enchilada Friday special, sat outside with the three dogs on their nice patio; perfect.
I ordered the Egg and Cheesy Quesadilla with a mimosa, and it was the best breakfast I've had since I've been in LA during my week stay! Monica was a nice and sweet waitress! As someone who eats a lot of Mexican food in the Bay Area, I highly recommend getting a bite to eat here 👌🏿
Super Deluxe Burrito with shredded beef was amazing and too big to eat! Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was good. Not crowded either.

Wow, was told by family that El Tarasco had killer burritos and they were right. This is a local must go to! The original one has been around for over 30 years and even the branch offs are amazing! When we went nice staff little to no wait time. And food was brought out quick. Great portions even leftovers.
I had the jr super deluxe wet burrito with chicken as my protein choice. The burrito was everything that I had hoped for. Great sauce, fresh ingredients and tender meat. The service was top notch. I was welcomed with a smile and exceptional customer service. The atmosphere can't be matched. It's located close to the beach, the day was perfect. Not to hot and not to cold. Everyone passing by seemed to be enjoying life. Thank you for a relaxed and peaceful experience while dining in at your restaurant.
Best Carnitas we’ve had, adorable place with outdoor seating and very friendly staff . Ate there 2 days in a row !

Good food, drink and service. Have nice patio seating and indoor. Parking on the street outside can be a challenge.
Here on a Tuesday evening during happy hour. Tacos were good. Shrimp ceviche is also tasty. Great location and staff was very attentive to us. After eating we walked down to the strand and along the beach. Great place for a casual date and evening.
Good food and I loved the salsa. Chips were pretty unique too. I had the chicken fajitas that were good
Not a gourmet cuisine but down to earth simple traditional Mexican food. Service is basic but friendly and genuine. Prices are fair. All in all this is a good restaurant for casual fast dine out.
A family owned and operated chain that's been in the South Bay for over fifty years, El Tarasco keeps it old school and simple. Nothing fancy here, so don't expect elevated L.A. food. Great flavors, no tofu or quinoa. Just good Mexican family recipes.
Great Mexican food restaurant. We got to sit outside which was really nice. Great service. Salsa is really yummy. They make good margaritas although They don't do blended. Didn't love that their tortilla chipses basically like a small corn tortilla that you have to break up but overall it was good food.
We enjoyed it, the food was tasty. Service was good. Took a little bit longer to receive our food than expected. Unfortunately my burrito couldn’t hold together, it started falling apart after the first few bites. But it was tasty. My brothers California Burrito was a bit greasier than we’re used to at Mexican restaurants. I had the Chicken Burrito. Prices are reasonable.

The service was great, very friendly. Clean and nice place. The food was a little underwhelming, though. Under seasoned, got chicken tacos and it was basically a solid chicken breast in a taco. Just interesting vs other Mexican places.
Average Mexican fare. Decent prices. Does not have a full liquor license.

Food is passable, if youre into texmex this is the place. It is actually good than most of the other mexican food places around the area (sad... i know). This is considering price and flavor. I havent found a good mexican place around this area and ive lived here for 10years. The 3 places i recommend is taco bell, this place, and ensenadas surf n turf grill on sepulveda.
I’m puzzled as to why there's an extra $0.65 surcharge for using a credit card. Dining at places like this feels a bit like a wallet raid.
The food was good. The service was ok, they seemed understaffed. The food was way more expensive than it should be, $77 for two adults and a toddler. They also don’t have tequila margaritas, which is a huge bummer.
The portion size has decreased significantly and the prices have continued to go up. For instance a meal no longer comes with 2x tortillas and a small side of rice is $4.50 - the kids meals do not come with sides, the $4.50 side of rice was for our 9 year old because the quesadillas alone would not fill up any 9 year old. This is a recent change in lower food volume, and at $20 for a meal it is not worth it. We won’t be going back, which is too bad, I’ve been enjoying El Tarasco since the early 2000’s.
Service with a smile! I enjoyed the outdoor eating area. Our server was positive and great with providing options about the menu. Our food was hot and fresh. There is dinning inside as well as outside. The salsa and chips was tasty. Not salty! A refill of Horchata is delivered fast.
Having grown up with El Terasco in MB I've been going for years and also to the Redondo location. So I had to try this place, large interior space with. A roll up door makes the inside feel like outside, also a patio for outdoor dining.. We came here for dinner and I remember the burritos to be huge, my carnitas burrito was way smaller than other locations... the food wasn't special like in the original location...

Ordered the flouta plate only to receive what looked like some microwave-quality taquitos... Won't be going back...
Got two of three orders wrong. Fish taco was an oil slick, same with quesadilla. There were some bright spots; good size and style chips and guacamole with a touch of lime. But overall, there are cheaper options in town.
Did not have a friendly or happyish server but did have a super nice food runner, rice and beans were not good, pretty good tacos though! Wouldn’t go again, wouldn’t recommend.
Awesome location. Fantastic service. Bland tasteless meal. Need more flavor to the meat and beans.
Que no mamen,,,they charge you for tortillas, i know its hermosa and wanna rip off rich locals ,food its just below average nothing special
Places feels understaffed. Left 20% tip when placing pick up order. Staff couldn’t even be bothered to provide utensils. Customer service and food was mediocre.
ordered a 2 tacos plate, poor quality, no flavor, no spice, very bland, if you want ultra flavorless this is the place, positive thing it's low price, I will not be back
Good food but do not order takeout. I Tried a third time ordering take out here giving the other 2 times the benefit of the doubt. They have taken 45 minutes every time and messed up my order every time. The front house staff here is clueless… keep the cooks replace the servers.
Walked by on a Saturday afternoon, ordered 2x basic shredded chicken tacos. They charged me $9.00 per taco!!!! Are You kidding me???!!… The charge to my card was $18.88. I will not be coming back here again.
For the food we'd give a higher rating. The 2 star I give it today is for the service. Granted post pandemic staffing is short but signs need to be put up saying they're short staff. Another thing as a result of the pandemic is take out. They were putting together the take out and not addressing the patrons in the restaurant. We'll go to the Redondo location next time.
The wet burrito was very mediocre. I got the one with chunky beef, thinking it was steak. But it turned out to be shredded beef.

Inauthentic, cheap a.ericanozed Mexican for really high prices. The wait staff is unseasoned to say the least but nice. Had to go inside twice and ask for drinks and service after being told to seat myself. The patrons were absolute trash. Little League parents finished their meal and dinner while the team hung out informally but loudly next to us, not ordering at all. When parents did finish the coach or at least a dad put his butt in my companions face to talk to another parent far away from their table or other open sidewalk oblivious to our existence. Rude people. Bad service but nice. Poor food. Expensive.

Spend more time gossiping than to take an order. Food wasn't even worth the wait.
The service might be painfully slow (even when the restaurant is empty), but at least the food is average. And how does a Mexican restaurant run out of rice!?!?
The worst of all El Tarascos... Absolutely no meat in my chunky beef burrito. Taste nothing like the other ones. Never again. The one at Rosecrans is the best one! Disappointed.
I went there tonight and ordered the California burrito and chips and guac. I was so surprised that the food WAS AWFUL! I have eaten there before and it was good, but this time it was so bad that I ended up throwing everything out. The food was bland, the beans were dry, the chips were old and the guac was rancid. Super disappointed. They went on my yucky list.
Blandest Mexican food I have had in SoCal. Their mole sauce tastes like Prego spaghetti sauce. The margaritas don't have tequila. Try any other place.
Ordered a Shrimp Cocktail and the cucumber was Bitter, told them but theirs replay was not bitter.
Service is dismal. Ordered a beer and was asked for drink order twice after. Never received them.. Finally left after 20 mind and went to Rosa's.. definitely better choice.
I deliver to this restaurant on the regular. They tip less than 5% sometimes $2 on $80 orders. Just find that ironic for a business whose employees rely on tips.
This was one of the worst experiences I've had at a restaurant. The place was pretty empty inside for starters and the waitress just handed me my menus and told me to seat myself. They bring chips and salsa to my table fine they are good by the way. Then it all went downhill. First, the margaritas are terrible. The watermelon one tastes like cough syrup. We exchanged them for regular house margaritas, again horrible!! I believe they added some kind of carbonation to it as there were bubbles coming from it.. We didn't drink them. Now our food comes. I order a two taco plate with rice and beans. The potato taco had no seasoning and was very bland. The salsa on the taco looked like canned salsa. There were no fresca cheese, cabbage etc.. straight iceberg lettuce. No bueno. The chicken one was the same, no seasoning, no taste just bland chicken with smart and final cheese, iceberg lettuce and canned salsa. And to top it off, my rice was cold!! I would add that at least the black beans were good! I don't see how this place is still in business. They need an upgrade with the dishes... Not good at all.. Won't be back
Small & overpriced taco tuesday, my friend accidentally said on the side not knowing they charge for all toppings on the side. it was confusing, waitress was good, but their policy cost me 30 in onions cilantro avacado, and other stuff we dont eat. sigh, glad to be near la where street tacos are huge and toppings included, worst prices ever., it was embarrassing,. $56 for 5 street tacos, 2beers, the rest is over priced toppings, Fish tacos were tasty, chicken beef steak, just everything is is mediocre and lacks $4 an oz side option appeal.
Today I went to Hermosa Beach for the first time for the festival. Not familiar with the neighborhood, because I love Mexican food I wanted to try El Tarasco. I ordered chicken burrito. It was the WORST mexican food I have ever tasted. Salty, wet and it felt apart on the first bite. It was gross and I hated. NEVER again. If I had a choice I would give the restaurant ZERO star.
Very bad restaurant, the food is not clean and the service is not good. When you order your food, you will get it after an hour 🤦
I’m a hermosa beach local and go to El-Tarasco often. This branch however is closest to my house and I’m is always served from the same waitress (I won’t state her name here to be nice). Today we couldn’t get much service because she was having a family event at the front of the restaurant. Always terrible service, but today was cherry on top. She did not give me and my partner water the whole time I had my meal. My partner had to go in twice to ask for water and still no service. She gave her other tables water immediately when they sat down without an ask all smiley and giggly. We will never go to this branch ever, the service to even get my check was a hassle. We could’ve walked out and still no service, terrible terrible service. On top of that the food tasted like dry biscuits because my neck was trying hard to not chock on my food.
Horrible food and horrible staff . Ordered a fish burrito... They brought out a macacha burrito. They brought out a 'fish' burrito that was almost 90% rice. They never returned to ask how the food was. I waited over fifteen minutes for the bill. They brought it and threw it on the table. I waited for their return. I finally had to go inside to pay. We treated rudely by the cashier when I complained about the food and service. Ask I was leaving the cashier flipped me off and waved at me ...
Absolutely garbage “Mexican” food. Paid $30 for the worst shrimp fajitas I’ve ever eaten in my whole life. Shrimp had absolutely no flavor or seasoning and was overcooked. The rest of the plate was just as terrible. Stay away from this establishment. Might as well go eat at Baja Sharkeez since they have more authentic Mexican food than the filth served at El Tarasco!
After 2 years of being a client at this location, the food quality went super down, i always go with my mom and sometimes with my family, but this time i asked for a soup and for my mother a pork tamales, the soup has a bad taste and the flavor was like with a lot of limon, to my mom the waitress didn't asked if she wanted with salse or without salse, so i don't know what is going on with the food quality or the waitress's customer service, but it is bad now.
Ground beef in the burritos, sour cream tasted more like yogurt than anything very chunky, the fish tasted like quiona, and the torta was very very greasy none of my party finished there food would rather miguels jr.
