One of the absolutely best items on a menu I ate last night 8/5/22... DUCK CONFITE..slow-cooked Leg of Duck... butter poached in the oven slow & Low...you NEED to try great food... Service was equal to the food ordered...EXCELLENT...

I could not love this place more. The food is exceptional and creative and the staff is always lovely. One of my favorite restaurants anywhere.

The food at The Spy was phenomenal. Everything was truly delicious. Cocktails were lovely. We were a table of 5 and started out with appetizers to share. From their regular menu, we had the buffalo tofu wings, and the cauliflower crust pizza. These "free range" wings are crisp, light and flavorful. If you're not a tofu lover, these will make you a believer! The pizza was amazing, a crowd favorite. The creaminess of the mushroom sauce paired with red cabbage and peas was both decadent, yet delicate. From the specials, we tried the fried calamari and duck tots. The calamari was prepared with a Thai peanut sauce and sweet chili dipping sauce. Out of this world! I've never had calamari done this way and it was amazing. Fresh, lightly fried and cooked to perfection. The duck tots were another explosion of flavor and were the ultimate comfort food. Crispy tots smothered in pulled bbq duck, smoked Gouda and duck gravy! Oh my! For entrees, 3 of us had the short rib. The syrah, braised boneless rib was literally melting in your mouth tender! Paired with perfectly whipped potatoes and sauteed spinach, it was stellar. The other entrees did not disappoint! The regular menu pan seared duck breast over sweet potato hash with mixed berry shrub sauce and the special house duck confit with sweet potato hash and fig mostardo were all they were "quacked" up to be and more! We ended with dessert. The chocolate brownie sundae was everything you want in a sundae! A fudgy brownie with a crackly exterior, covered in rich ice cream with chocolate sauce and whipped cream to even out the sweetness. The special was an individual panettone coupled with a caramel sauce (I believe). It was gobbled up too fast to recall! It was a lovely evening. One of the owners, Brigitte, warmly chatted at our table for a few minutes and it brought the dining experience full circle. If you haven't been in awhile, or it's your first time, hurry over to The Spy! There is something for everyone including vegetarian and vegan choices. You won't be disappointed!

I rarely would write a review but I have to say that every bite was delicious even the leftover Caesar and beet salad I had the next day. I also told the chef as I passed by the kitchen . It was pricey for me but worth it.

Every single time we visit The Spy we feel so grateful that an amazing restaurant like this is so close to home. The owners and all the staff are super friendly and the food is great every single time. Love showing up and being surprised by the specials while also knowing the favorites will always be on the menu. Love this place!!

My wife, friends, and I had a great experience here the day after Thanksgiving. The service was incredible. Cauliflower crust pizza, short ribs, and mushroom bucatini were the stand-out dishes at our table.

My wife and I came across The Spy about 4-5 years ago. It's since been one of our go to spots in the area and often celebrate special occasions here. The food is always delicious and the service is kind and attentive. The owners add a great personal touch to the place.

Wow. Hosted a 40th birthday party here last night and I can't say enough about the owners, staff, food, and service. From beginning to end, stress-free coordination with George who is genuine, caring, patient, and helpful. They went above and beyond for us. Everything was absolutely delicious. George was responsive and delightful to work with. We will be back- do not hesitate to come here. What an absolute gem. Thank you George for making it a memorable evening for such a special occasion. ❤️

This is by far the greatest restaurant in our area. When ever friends or family come up to visit I make sure we take them to the spy. It feels like a home away from home. The chef and owner duo are a power team of talent and hospitality. I can’t rave about this restaurant enough. Each time I go there is a new fresh, seasonal and creative special from ramp ravioli to a meal served with a side of cookies. High falls would not be what it is without them. I actually feel giddy and excited every time I know I am going to get to eat at The Spy Social Eatery. Do yourself a favor and head there as fast as you can, they book up really fast during the warm seasons.

I don't typically review restaurants on this (or any other) platform, however I feel compelled to write a review about what our experience at The Spy. We have been fortunate to have dined there several times over the past few months and I just needed to state that Brigitte simply exudes warmth and hospitality. The negroni was delightful, as was the second one. The food was delicious, generously portioned, and offered a lot of variety. So grateful to have this little gem of a restaurant in our neighborhood.

I visit the Hudson Valley several times a year and this is my favorite place my friends and I always visit. The Spy has a full and delicious menu that is reasonably priced, a cozy and charming atmosphere and wonderful service. I recommend the watermelon and beet salad, tofu wings, mushroom and cheese stuffed ravioli. Super delicious!! I give The Spy 5 stars for this special evening!!

Amazing Food wonderful place. Severs are very attentive. The main reason for my review is to apologize for my behavior to the owner when I was a guest at a private party last night We had a disagreement that I don’t want to expose the details but I was extremely rude and disruptive and disrespectful to the poor woman and her guests at the bar. She was very professional in the way she handled me and I intend to stop back and apologize to her in person. I highly recommend this place for fine dining.and awesome service!

One of the best meals my parents and I have had in a long while. I was hesitant based on the stars, but the ingredients in their dishes looked stellar, so we decided to make a reservation. We were so happy with the meal we made reservations for dinner again later this week. We had the bruschetta appetizer, which had hens of the woods, ricotta, andcarmelized onions, and it was superb. My parents had the duck confit and I had the mussels, and both were stellar (I was tempted to ask for a soup spoon, the mussels broth was so good). The staff are so lovely, and I could not recommend this restaurant more. If I ever hear people mention coming to this area, it will be my go-to recommendation!

Absolutely beautiful renovation, exquisite decoration. Food was excellent. New American cuisine, all the dishes were well done. We visited on an off-night, but the quality was still high. Waitstaff were charming. Down to earth and young, but very genuine and solicitous. Our server was clearly a kid still learning, and to her credit, she told us what she knew and then got answers to whatever questions she couldn't answer. A great local restaurant, one that punches well above its weight. Highly recommend for special events, date night, dinner with the parents, and they even have a separate bar area that makes it good for sports/tv events.

Delicious! We had several appetizers for our meal and tried 2 desserts. All the flavors were perfect. Clearly fresh seasonal ingredients. The service was attentive and friendly. Cozy intimate atmosphere.

The whole vibe here is fabulous, from the shawls on the chairs to the herb butter to the attentive wait staff. The food was excellent. I didn't think I'd like the buffalo tofu wings, but I didn't know tofu could be so delicious. My Spy Mule cocktail was a fun twist on the classic.

We had just arrived in town after a long drive from Virginia. It was a Friday evening and we didn't have a reservation, but they kindly accommodated the three of us, and we enjoyed a delicious meal in a cozy, and tastefully decorated home. A cozy restaurant and bar on a hill. We just had a delicious, comforting dinner at The Spy. We started off w a fab pretzel and spoon cornbread with mushrooms followed by duck for my husband and meatloaf with carrots and mashed potatoes for me; accompanied by a lovely glass of Pinot noir .We finished w tapioca pudding and fresh whipped cream. On a cold night like this it was perfect. Great service by a delightful friendly staff and of course as we were leaving we chatted with the owner, Doris, who is always warm and friendly. She works hard with her staff to make sure that everyone is well looked after and graciously taken care of.

My husband and I ate here tonight and it was delicious. We had the grilled Ceasar salad, the short rib and the duck breast. And the flourless chocolate cake special for dessert. Everything was cooked well, the flavors were excellent and the service was friendly. Flourless chocolate cake was divine. We loved the atmosphere as well, with outdoor and indoor dining options. They also have a very nice looking bar that has seating. Would definitely recommend.

By the end of our visit, we were talking about returning! I'd highly recommend this restaurant-- I love to support local and it's even better when it's clearly worth the effort.

We then indulged with the apple crisp, the homemade cheesecake, and chocolate brownie sundae… the brownie was my favorite but it was a toss up! We will be back every time we come back to this area!

I have been coming to the restaurant for over 16 years . I love The Spy because they really focus on quality . Seasonal ingredients, high end cocktails and professionally trained staff. The owners are amazing people I have come to know very well over the years. George and Brichette are the best restaurant owners I know! They pour their heart and soul into that place. They make you feel at home are always truly excited to see you ! If you haven’t been , you must try! And o ya! You MUST try the Buffalo Tofu Wings . One of kind and shockingly delicious

Delightful experience here all around! We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of being serves by Brigitte who was welcoming and friendly. We had the beet salad and tofu wings to start, and then the chicken pot pie and steak frites, and everything was perfect! We left no room for desert which was a shame as the selection sounded awesome. Great selection of drinks, they have Maine Lunch on tap. Our fellow patrons at the bar were a friendly bunch and the atmosphere was relaxing. It's a bit pricey but I still felt we got value for the money. We'll definitely be back here!

Pumpkin ravioli could have used more flavor, seafood diabolo was excellent, the bread pudding was delicious, and enough for two!

This upscale pub and eatery offers fantastic outside dining in their large and comfortable screened porch. The menu is eclectic and vegetarian friendly. They serve the Impossible Burger, which is still hard to find in this area. The tofu buffalo wings are a local favorite which pair perfectly with a cold glass of Bad Seed cider.

Very cool spot. Like the location, decor, and ambiance. I'm a total sucker for any place with a classy, rustic dining room--especially one with a fireplace. Burger could have been a little better, but I really enjoyed the place.

The social is a gem hidden after the main row. Driving up an almost dirt road to find a little house surrounded by cars. The drinks are well made and honestly a big reason why we come back. The campfire whiskey drink is a must along with the margarita. The bread costs extra but is a must, I will say always ask for extra butter it is never enough! Dinner as far as we have found you cannot go wrong, order anything on the menu. I will say the grilled Caesar salad had great flavor but is hard to eat.

Love the fact that it reopened, and perhaps the night we went was in start up mode, so I'll return soon in the hopes that it's old glory of delectable rhythm has been restored.

Food was good but not worth the price we paid. Ambiance was nice but it was way too hot the day we were there. The staff is amazing and super nice.

We thought the environment and service were warm and lovely! We just hope they continue to develop vegan options, considering how conscious people are becoming of the environmental, health, and ethical concerns of non-vegan food. We loved the Impossible Birger, but why not have vegan dressing for the buffalo tofu wings and more cruelty-free options?

Very disappointing meal and customer service. From my initial call to make a reservation for a birthday dinner to the staff’s reluctance to seat us in a cooler part of the restaurant and the mediocre meal I will not be going back again.

Not a very kid friendly place... overly price and fairly prepared food.

Terrible service. Not child or family friendly restaurant. Bridget the owner is very rude and nasty, with an obnoxious attitude. She had a horrible attitude towards my wife and our little girl. left without even finishing the food. Never again will we visit this trashy establishment. Alex G.

Oct. 16 2021. Pouring rain . It’s Saturday night our reservations were for 5 pm. First seating time. We arrived 10 mins early. (Owner ? ) Female greeted us with “We’re not open. “We’re not ready “ We apologized stating we wanted to get to restaurant before weather became worse. Most places offer to sit you at the bar. Not her. We asked to wait on covered porch area where we were standing. That was ok until we got ready to be seated & she had the nerve to tell us to put the chairs back where we found them!! We are only 4 adults. We’re seated & she comes to table & rips the specials paper out of our hand ( only one paper per table) saying “this is wrong not that Burrata. “ Our luck we wanted that exact one. She’s gruff & unapologetic . No way to treat your guests. There was enough wait staff so what’s her problem? Food is nothing spectacular. My short ribs were tasty the spinach was only 2 fork fulls. Mushroom appetizer was chock full of thick bread little mushrooms on top. Desert came & wait staff forgot share plates which we asked for. We used our coffee saucers wanted to get out of there. As we left the bar was packed. Customers on top of each other. No masks under chins or hanging from ear while drinking & talking. There’s a COVID Delta variant out there. Any one care? Never going back . Go to the Eggs Nest across the street if you want to eat out. Owners friendly food & portions much better . Customers wear masks coming in & practice social distancing. My kind of place.

Does anyone know what good food and service are anymore? The food here was totally uninspiring, service was mediocre at best. Duck breast was overcooked and apple crisp was so undercooked I should have sent it back. I cant believe anyone would give 5 stars

On two separate occasions, the owner/manager(?), 'Bridget', berated and verbally abused me. She was so rude, so mean, that I was certain she couldn't possibly have been waitstaff, as ANY server would immediately be fired for such classless behavior. She was SO MEAN to me for absolutely no reason. When I got back to my car I literally cried. I've never had a stranger be so mean to me in my entire life. Don't go here... that horrid monster could make you her next victim

On two separate occasions the meals were awful and inedible. Presentation was Underwhelming and Lackluster.. Wait staff practically ignored us. Strange & Wierd combinations of Food. Strips of rare Duck breast over a pile of succotash. Steaks were tough, grizzly and veiny. Calamari seasoned with odd spices. Prices high for quality and Service. Not impressed.

The owner, Brigitte, is very rude and does not like children, no matter how well behaved. In fact, I am confident that all of the one star reviews here that she was trying to scare off these families from frequenting this restaurant so that she can have a childless atmosphere.

Food was good but service not so much. Got overlooked at our table and only got a server after I complained that guests who came in after us were served and left and we hadn't been waited on. Hostess was very rude and only agreed to comp an item after we asked. As a tourist this is one place I would never return to.

the server was a beautifully patient, understand and kind person. the ‘owner’ on the other hand, and i put ‘owner’ in quotes because there is no way this woman has been able to run a restaurant for so long. no wonder her turn over rate is SO high in the front of house. she is MEAN. i have no other way to describe her. she berates and yells at her staff in front of diners, and consistently messes up orders when she’s forced to serve because her staff won’t stay on to be treated SO poorly. the food was good, at least.
