Nice pub with good food and friendly staff. Price is reasonable for the amount of food you get. Parking is a bit difficult though.

No reservation for Sunday lunch but easily accommodated as a walk in. Good friendly service. Beef bourginon was delicious as were the fresh vegetable sides. Highly recommend 👌

Lovely pub food, with really delicious dishes and excellent service. Their little garden in the back is so pretty and perfect in the summer! Didn't stay at the Inn, so can't comment on the rooms.

We absolutely loved this stop. The food was all delicious. We got the fish burger, Italian chicken burger, grilled shrimp and prawns, and halloumi fries. Definitely recommend stopping here.

A nice place for a family meal. I'd say it's more expensive than most, but the food and service is good. Parking is easy too. The burgers were great and everyone finished their plates!

Amazing food, great service. We were in the area to visit a family member and found this little gem! Sunday lunch was delicious and a lovely portion size. Try the Greek orange pie if you get the chance, I have never tasted anything quite like it!! We liked place so much we returned the following day. The menu has something for everyone, we had the crispy belly pork and seabass, there wasn't a crumb left! The specials board starter of tiger prawns with garlic and chorizo served with toasted olive bread were divine and the garlic mushrooms just as tasty. I can't recommend this place enough! I would recommend booking at a weekend as it gets very busy.

I recently took my Mum for lunch and it was fabulous. I took a while choosing a place to eat and couldn’t have been happier with the Derby Inn. We arrived around 2:45 and the friendly waitress advised me that the kitchen closed at 3:00 but not to rush deciding from the menu. I had their king prawn and salmon skewers and my mum had the sea bass. Both dishes were exceptional and absolutely delicious. The chef even came out to ask how our food was which is unheard of these days. Very impressive considering the kitchen was virtually in the process of shutting down for service. I suppose if I cooked food that good, I too would be proud to show myself. Friendliest of staff too. Highly recommend!!! Many pubs complain about lack of customers whilst charging extortionate prices for average food. If only they chose to produce food and service to this standard. Thanks Derby Inn team!!

We come here regularly because it is halfway to Newbury where we have friends and it's a great place to meet being just off the M 3.

A lovely refurbished pub, food was imaginative, very well prepared and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.

The minute you walk in the door of this pub you know that someone professionally knows what they are doing. Attention to detail. Proper hospitality, and needless to say - beautifully kept beers, good choice of wines by the glass, attentive friendly service, and good food. Leo and the team are excellent.

This place is incredible, it has a fantastic mixture of dinning and drinking. The food is amazing from the starters to the deserts. I’ve been many of times and I am never afraid to change my order as every single food on the menu is just cooked to perfection. My kids also loved their food but more importantly they loved the staff, the staff are very friendly and warming, Leo the gentleman that runs it is one of the nicest guys I’ve met and he was the reason I started going there. He worked at another restaurant a few years ago and because of his great service he provided, me and my wife had to follow him on his new ventures. Honestly if you need a good affordable lunch, date night, family dinner or even a drink this place is a must. Thank you Leo and the team for being amazing!

A great place to celebrate 🍾 ones birthday! First time I have seen belly pork on the menu, and cooked just as it should be. 👌 Great size portions and the gravy on the roast meals, best I've ever tasted when eating out. This chef knows his flavours! Great place inside, lovely atmosphere and the table staff were really nice.👏 I will be going back again.

We have been before and returned last night for a family meal and catch up. As all our previous visits the food was excellent, our party had a variety of dishes and all of which were great tasting and quality. The service much like the food is also spot on and relaxed and friendly, couldn't ask for anything else Looking forward to our next visit

Had amazing meal, so much choice and every thing we had was cooked perfectly. The staff were so friendly and courteous. We will definitely come back. Couldn't fault it

Just excellent. Rarely leave a review but occasionally somewhere leaves you with a feeling that you have to. Attentive and absolutely on it to ensure you have a great meal. We have two children (5 and 7) and they instantly recognised the need to have dinners out asap for the children. Tailored every order to suit and food was perfect. Even whispered 'puddings' to avoid any reaction from the children which was a nice touch. First time here for a while and will definitely be back and recommending. Thank you to everyone working on the 21 Jan 2023

Unusually we didn't take any photos, and such a shame. We had an amazing meal celebrating a birthday on a Monday evening. The service was so friendly, accommodating and attentive, a lovely, friendly experience and to top it all off...just FAB food, we shared a couple of starters of Fried Brie and Chorizo with fresh bread, two of us had the prawn risotto, a Greek pork skewers and a seabass on greens. All were super generous, tasty, fresh and delicious as was the puddings! We will certainly be back very soon, the steak night sounds equally tempting.

We visited this week and the food was really lovely. The homemade ice cream is amazing. Molly the young lady who served us was so friendly and made absolutely sure we had everything we could possibly need. A really wonderful experience

A great place to come for a Sunday roast! A lovely warm welcome as soon as we entered the pub. We turned up quite late on a Sunday and Joe kindly offered us a table. The food was fantastic, perfect portion sizes and the quality was superb. The service from every staff member was above and beyond. Highly recommend!

Came here for lunch today and lobed the food. I had the greek chicken skewers. Nice flavour and moist but deserts were the best sticky toffee pudding and the biscoff ice cream was super rich. Definitely eating here again

This is a great pub in walking distance of the canal and the farm. Beautiful building typical of Odiham/North Warnborough, with a nice garden. The food here is especially good, highlights for me on my latest visit were the halloumi burger and the apple crumble.

Lovely place - really friendly and helpful staff, wonderful decor and atmosphere and very tasty food. Loved the fact that there was a selection of pies of the day - we each had a different flavour and they were all very tasty. We went on a Friday night so the place had most tables turned over to the restaurant rather than the pub, but even though it was busy service kept up very well. There are guest ales on tap as well as some standard favourites and the menu is a mix between interesting pub food and Italian. Will definitely be going again!

We had the Derby Inn burgers and they were great, even swapped skinny chip for excellent fat triple cooked (I believe) and a lovely pint of Green King IPA helpful and friendly service

Just had my first ever delivery from here and it was incredible! I had mushroom risotto which was the best risotto I've ever had. My family also said their food incredible , lasagna, chicken in mushroom sauce and veg tagliatelle. All really tasty. Delivered hot in good time from just eat. Would definitely recommend.

Delicious meal again. Strongly recommend this pub - food and service excellent. 10/10.

Went here for dinner with family and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The food was incredible, I had the Greek Prawn Saganaki and Chicken Gyros, bot cooked to perfection. Succulent chicken, juicy prawns, and the service by Priscilla was fantastic. She was so kind, friendly, and attentive, as were all the staff. The apple crumble was delicious although piping hot. And all the other desserts and meals on our table looked incredible. The sirloin steak was cooked perfectly. None of us had a bad word to say. Delicious through and through, will definitely be going back.

We'll definitely be coming back to The Derby Inn! My family and sat outside on a sunny day, and it was such a lovely setting. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout. The menu was fantastic - everything sounded so good, it was hard to choose! I went with the Greek chicken skewers, and they were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the homemade ice cream too. One of the best restaurants I've been to in the area!

Had lunch for the first time here today and sat outside in the garden. Wonderful home cooking. Had meatballs, Moussaka and marinated chicken followed by home made Greek dessert and home made ice cream. Absolutely charming waitress, friendly bar staff and met the chef. Our food was delicious having chosen authentic Greek cuisine options on the menu and there are plenty of other good pub classics on the menu too. Well cellared pint of Old Speckled Hen rounded off a perfect lunch. Already arranging to come back for supper soon.

Here’s a glowing review for The Derby Inn: The Derby Inn is a hidden gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, cozy atmosphere that feels both timeless and welcoming. The decor strikes a perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort, creating an inviting space for patrons of all ages. The staff here are incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every visitor feels like a local. Their menu is fantastic, with a great selection of both classic pub fare and creative dishes that showcase the chef’s talent. Every meal is prepared with quality ingredients and served promptly. I highly recommend trying their signature chicken chewers – crispy, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. What truly sets The Derby Inn apart is its exceptional drink selection. They offer a superb variety of beers, ales, and local brews, along with a surprisingly extensive wine and cocktail list. There’s truly something for everyone, and the bartenders are always happy to recommend a drink based on your preferences. Whether you’re popping in for a quick drink after work, a hearty meal with friends, or a cozy evening with family, The Derby Inn is the place to go. It’s the kind of pub that feels like home every time you visit, with a relaxed vibe and consistently outstanding service. Highly recommended!

Amazing country pub and restaurant with roaring fire on the go. We have just had the most amazing meal there, all freshly cooked, good portion sizes and great value for money. The waitress was very good; friendly and welcoming. A great experience - would really recommend

We booked this pub for lunch as we were walking in the local area. We had booked and had a seat in the bar as we had dogs and a child. We had an area which gave enough space and the floors were stone so perfect for the dogs. The staff were very friendly and took our order. They had options both in the menu and the specials board. I had the burger which was tasty and the relish it came out with paired well with the chips. A nice venue, great pit stop if you are wiling or cycling locally. Only improvement could be the coke that was a bit weak and tasteless.

A lovely historic location with a great ambience for a Sunday roast. The food was excellent for most of us. The only problem with one selection was more because of choice rather than the recipe itself. The service was good except for the end when we were finishing our main course. We had been at our table of 6 for a little less than 90 minutes when we were asked by the waitress to hurry up and finish because of an overlapping reservation. Quite rude and unexpected that diminished the experience a little as first time visitors.

L
Laura Turvey

The menu was very mixed and interesting, they also had a good specials board. The food was well cooked and delicious however I noticed all the 3 starters that my table ordered were different yet came with the same bread which for me was a bit dry. The desserts were good with the exeption of them using aerosole cream instead of proper whipped cream for the eton mess. Drinks were nice if a little pricey.

We enjoyed our stop there. It was easy to find with a nice outdoor space to sit under the sun and our dog. The place is dog friendly outdoors and at the bar area. The service was good. The food was good but the sweet potato fries were a bit burnt. The pork skewers were on the small side too. Overall, it was a very nice experience for us and our 🐶.

We came for Sunday lunch today. I don't often eat a roast dinner out so I opted for the chicken a la creme, but my boyfriend had the lamb shank roast. My chicken was well cooked and there was a decent portion, but everything was pretty bland. I put a lot of salt and pepper on, but it needed some flavour. It wasn't bad, but not as good as it looked. Boyfriend's lamb was nice. The star of the savoury was the saganaki shrimp starter...yum! I had sticky toffee pudding with custard and homemade biscoff ice cream for pudding and it was fab. I'd go back to try other menu items and more desserts. It is very expensive, but the service was very good.

Service was excellent. Came for lunch. Menu has an interesting Greek influence with some typical greek dishes and some more traditional British pub ones. Portions were very good. Prices on the higher pub end one.

Good food and location was great, just a shame we had to chase our drinks and bill multiple times.

Came today for roast but sadly food very bland ! Roast potatoes not roasted ! We came today as we have been before had the most amazing roast . Not sure if you have changed chefs but definitely not as good ! Gravy tasted like oxo, roast potatoes very pale and undercooked , no seasoning on anything ! My husband had fish and chips very small portions , and again very bland ! Was very busy were we were seated at the bar area , so service not great, not there fault as they could not get through ! Just a shame we were not seated in restaurant Such a shame as we recommended our friends to come due to our past visit !

Disappointing Sunday lunch. The venue is excellent, albeit parking is a problem. The staff are great and decent beer. But the food was not up to standard (and not especially cheap either)

M

Went for a meal for 2 starters went down OK chicken wings can't really go wrong with those. Went on to the mixed grill pork was slightly chard the thick chips were dry the steak was very nice but the thing that gave it 2 stars was the lack of care for the customers. The music was turned up to a point I couldn't hear my wife talking, then it went down, then up the bar getting abit animated not really a place I would revisit for a meal for 2.

Came here for a Birthday and Anniversary celebration which i had referred to on the booking, nothing was said or done about this which i found poor, it doesn’t cost anything to say Happy Birthday/Anniversary from a member of staff or a simple candle in a pudding with a Happy Birthday/Anniversary message piped on a plate. Food was okay, i’ve been here multiple times before and loved it yet today was below par, food was luke warm and took an eternity for mains and even longer for desert to come out, even though it was a Wednesday evening and there was our table of 3 and two other tables of 2 and 4, that was it. Very disappointed, as had traveled a distance to come here for a celebration and unfortunately didn’t feel like that from the staff, service or food.

Came here twice , months apart and both times just ordered a quick snack. First time, under cooked chips . Second time tasteless Tempura Prawns. Won’t come again and it’s was much better it this time (March) not good. Ordered buffalo wings with a bbq sauce, chunky chips and salsa and some mayo. The wings were tiny, definitely not worth £8:50 !! (See photo), there was no BBQ sauce, some of the chips weren’t fully cooked and the salsa was horrible. Food came out with no mayo so had to ask again and I asked about the BBQ sauce and the waitress said “ did you ask”? She went away saying she would check and didn’t come back. The £10:50 Tempura Prawns looked good but were utterly tasteless. “Served with salad” aka 4 bits of watercress. Tartare sauce, also tasteless. Come on…more imaginative pallet please. Girl behind the bar was moody. Host was pleasant. Crap!!!! Will think twice about coming a third time!!

"HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE". Booked this place for a Sunday Roast before carrying onto our stay at The Four Seasons Hotel. From the very start my wife's choice of meat for her roast was brought over wrong ...it was corrected to the beef option reasonably quickly that she originally chose so thats fine. But upon my wife eating a couple of bites of the beef it was a constant battle trying to cut the rest of the beef, it contained a huge amount of gristle and full of hard fat and the rest had hardly any beef left within it. We eventually had to call the waitress over ...once my wife showed it to her and trying to cut it in front of her she agreed it weren't right and should not have even been put on the plate by the chef in the 1st place. She eventually brang over a bacon wrapped chicken breast about 10 to 15 minutes later as the beef option had put put my wife off of eating it, but the remainder of my wifes dinner had sat in front of her getting cold while the bacon wrapped chicken was being cooked, so she eventually had a hot bacon wrapped chicken breast and a stone cold remainder of roast dinner !!!!!! ...to add insult to injury all they knocked off the bill was the dessert. I will add my beef option was also as tough as an old boot but I said nothing and battled through it, but I wish I had have said something now, it was totally unacceptable ...and not cheap either !!! But this is the worst ...to top it all off from approx an hour to two hours after the meal we both had horrendous stomach aches and frequent toilet visits for nearly 2 days (lucky for us we always pack Immodium when we go away just in case) this really spoilt our extremely expensive 1st time stay at The Four Seasons Hotel. There was definitely something not right about that beef. We will never return there or recommend The Derby Inn to anyone ...other than to recommend "AVOID AT ALL COST".
