I had an amazing graduation celebration dinner with some family that were in from out of town. Victor was an amazing server with A plus service and took really good care of us! We ordered a little bit of everything and all of the drinks and food was delicious especially the carrot cake. We were so hungry I did not get any real pictures of the food but I recommend trying the rolls, calamari, crab fried rice, risotto, lobster, king crab and carrot cake but everything else we ordered was just as good so you can’t go wrong with whatever you order. Thank you Victor and the rest of the staff for making our experience exceptional!
We came to celebrate my Godfathers 72nd Birthday! The experience was amazing! The staff extraordinary! They were kind and courteous the entire visit..we wanted for nothing. They kept us hydrated with the BEST WATER WE EVER HAD IN OUR LIVES! 🤣🤣 The food was to die for it melted in our MOUTHS. The drinks also refreshing..the bartender was on point..he was moving and shaken but never missed a beat. I can't say enough. For some.. it was their first time..they have already committed to being repeat offenders. Thank you for making our experience MEMORIABLE!
For many years I have enjoyed dining at this fantastic restaurant. Always greeted by beautiful and friendly hosts. The restaurant has a beautiful dining area as well as a sexy bar/lounge area. I love the soft dim lighting and the richness of the decor. We always love enjoying the cocktails in the bar while listening to a talented pianist fill the air with old favorites. The bar staff are always friendly, witty and fast, delivering consistently delicious adult beverages. While dining we are always thrilled with the level of service. Attentive and knowledgeable without being over bering. The menu offers a mouthwatering selection. The food is consistently plated beautifully and always teases your senses with the aroma and your tastebuds with the delicious flavors. I highly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed!!
The golden standard. I have been sampling various salmon delicacies at $$ and $$$ restaurants all over Houston. Truluck sets the standard hands down even compared to places that charge more. A buttery smooth, melt-in-your-mouth, medium rare seared New Zealand salmon is where the search ends. With high quality cut, there is no need for fancy sauce or much seasoning. One simply savors each exquisite, succulent bite.... The baked Alaska, which can stand on its own, is an icing on the cake afterwards (pun intended). Outstanding presentation by the bartender too. Service was excellent. The bartenders were friendly and very knowledgeable of the dishes and drinks. Dave and Oliver were excellent managers with unparallel customer service to all patrons. The place is always busy, and it may be hard to get reservation. Be patient, it's worth it! Or ask to sit at the bar. I 'll be back to check out the next time the live piano bar is in session
From the second we pulled up the valet was extremely nice and welcoming. Once making it to the front desk host we were greeted with a smile as well from our waitress. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We started off with the parmesan yeast rolls, followed by the shrimp and crab napoleon, a delicious and perfectly prepared NY strip steak, ending with a decadent baked Alaska (ice cream cake). Would 10/10 recommend and make a return trip as well. Great food and service.
The food, the service, the seating area and the privacy our server Eric was outstanding, the manager and all personal always checking on us. It was my husband’s first time and he loved it. I was there long time ago, but now I’m seriously surprised how much enjoyed the food and the place. Great place 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
What a wonderful experience, Mari our waitress did a fantastic job ensuring we had a great experience during our anniversary celebration with my wife. The main entree was excellent including the Lobster bisque as appetizer and baked Alaska for dessert. The atmosphere is beautiful with live music and perfect ambience..
Amazing Place Restaurant and Bar truly lives up to its name! The atmosphere is inviting, the menu offers a fantastic mix of fresh, flavorful dishes, and the cocktails are creative and delicious. The service was outstanding, with staff who made us feel right at home. Whether you're out for a special night or just grabbing a casual bite, this spot is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
Food, drinks, and service were amazing. The Steak had an amazing crust and was still cooked perfectly. The seafood was the same, great sear on the outside accompanied with equally delicious sides. We added the creamed spinach which was exactly how I like it, heavy on the spinach and just the right amount of cream. Drinks were on point with an amazing dessert and coffee. Will be back soon.
We had a magnificent evening for my wife's birthday. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The host greeted us by name upon arrival and our table was by perfect with views of the entire restaurant. Our Server Serena was very professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. The appetizers were fabulous and the entrees delectable. This is fine dining at its finest.
We are definitely coming back here again. The scenery inside was nice and my wife enjoyed everything about this place. Stuffed lobster was really good.
This was easily one of the best experiences I have had in Houston to date! I had the wagyu steak with mushroom and truffle risotto, my husband had the all you can eat stone crab and asparagus, we had oysters for appetizers, carrot cake and let lime pie for dessert, and an espresso to finish it off. Everything was amazing!
Outstanding high end seafood and steak venue. Wonderful setting, courteous yet unpretentious staff, fantastic seafood and steak with thoughtful vegan options as well. Competes strongly as one of the top quality seafood restaurants in Houston. It's pricey but if you want to impress your family, date, friends or clients, Truluck's will not disappoint. Highly recommended if you don't mind throwing down some Benjamins.
This place is wonderful. Worth it’s weight in gold. Hubs and I enjoyed our Anniversary here. It was a joy to experience. The food. The ambience. The service. Superb. The menu lit up once they dimmed the lights. We were gifted with a baked alaskan dessert that was set aflame with coffee after our meal. Wait…wut!?! Yes. It was DEVINE. The only issue I had was…the noise level was loud. A couple of patrons at tables around us talked “very” loud to the point we almost asked our waitress to ask them to tone down. We could hear the musician playing and singing from the other room which helped a tab bit but when he went on break, we heard entire conversations.
I wanted to keep this restaurant to myself, but I couldn’t. No complaints about this one. 10/10 on everything. If you haven’t been to Truluck’s, definitely make a reservation soon. Stellar ambiance, great lighting, amazing staff, & a great menu. I ordered several things. 1. The Parmesan yeast rolls was amazing. The rolls were baked amazingly, very soft, & goes great with the butter. 2. The Crabcake…. A must order! It goes so well with the tartar sauce. Cooked to perfection!!! Flavorful, very soft, & 3. Lobster Bisque. Another must order. So much can be said about the lobster bisque. Just order it! The chef’s doing magic in the kitchen. 4. Miso Sea Bass (full) was my main meal. It was served with crab fried rice. Everything about it was delicious. 10/10 for me!
What an experience this was! My fiancé and I decided to try this place for dinner last night. We love seafood and steak, so we went for it!! The moment you walk in the door, The hostess as well as one of the restaurant managers greeted you with such a warm welcoming smile. They were so kind & genuine. The ambience of this restaurant was absolutely exquisite. They has someone singing and playing the piano at the bar, but you heard it clearly in the restaurant. However, it wasn’t too loud. It was so nice! There are fresh roses on the table, the lights were dimmed, and the booths were big and spacious! Now, I have been to several fine dining restaurants, however I’ve never been to a restaurant that had lit up menus! I was SURPRISED lol now that was SO COOL! Our server was Hilary. She was the sweetest, most attentive server ever. Thank you for everything!! As for the food, I don’t feel like my words could thoroughly explain how phenomenal their chefs are. I’ve been in the culinary field for over a decade, so my standards are a bit high. However, all of my expectations were met! For starters, the bread, calamari, and wedge salad were wonderful! I have never had calamari like this. The vegetables were cooked to the perfect crunch! And, it came with two different dipping sauces which paired perfectly with the flavor of the calamari. The bacon on the wedge salad was a little too crunchy for my liking, but Someone else may have loved it. I ordered the scallops, My fiancé ordered the Texas redfish. We both added on a 7 ounce fillet. In addition to our meals, we ordered some mushrooms. The scallops were perfectly cooked, and so buttery! He was overjoyed with how delicious a his fish was as well. For dessert, we ordered the carrot cake. It came with an order of butterscotch drizzle and candied pecans. The carrot cake alone was excellent! Very moist and the cream cheese was yummy as well. I liked the carrot cake without the butter scotch, but he liked it with a butter scotch. So it’s really a matter of preference. Overall, this was probably one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in years. We will be back as soon as possible!
For lunch, I had the shrimp cocktail they were huge, the lobster bisque, was excellent! My entree was the Redfish Pontchartrain. Very good, flavorful! I had the Single Barrel Margarita, which was good but glass is definitely too small. Dessert was the chocolate malt cake, good and not overly sweet.
Wonderful birthday experience with long time clients. Stone crab was delectable. Crab cakes was full of crab goodness with every bite. Calamari had the right amount of saltiness with the right amount of spice. The potatoes were fried perfect, crispy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside. The sea bass was the best. Not super heavy But heavy on flavors.
Food and service was excellent! First time going to celebrate my husband's 40th. They were out of the special we wanted but was just as delighted with the server's recommendations. Prime ribeye was the best steak my husband's ever had. Miso seabass was cooked to perfection - thick slice and very flaky topped with a refreshing cucumber and lettuce slaw. Sides are very generous portions - lobster mashed potatoes are bomb! Received a complimentary birthday ice cream coffee choco cake. The best and I cannot stop raving about this place!
Absolutely LOVE this place! Every time we come, it is perfect. We celebrated for our Anniversary yesterday and were spoiled from start to finish! Darlene our server was on point, the food was cooked to perfection and the Caviar w/oysters was unlike anything I had ever experienced. It was amazing! Thanks so much TruLucks for making our Anniversary so Special AGAIN!
I love the low lighting in the place. It feels like a throwback. Service was top tier, which also feels like days past. The crab fried rice was sweet and subtle and divine. My steak was exactly as I wanted even better. It was seared almost crisp and juicy in the middle. We had so much food and I didn’t have room for dessert. Everyone was happy with their dishes.
Food was delicious, appetizers, main and dessert. Hillary (our server) was very passionate, professional and friendly. Not to mention that the menu had built in lights so you don’t need to use your phone light to read the menu. I highly recommend this place, and would definitely go back!
Although we are closer to The Woodlands location, we would rather drive down to Houston to dine at the Galleria one. The Westheimer location is longer established and has somewhat of a more old-timey, classic feel… And, we prefer that. It gives that elegant & romantic vibe that has stood the test of time for us. ***Plus, if you’re a crab lover like me, AYCE crab is offered on Monday nights (at the Westheimer location only). Recently celebrated our anniversary here. Our entire meal was outstanding, and table service was top-notch. We came in an hour before our early dinner reservation to catch Happy Hour at the bar, and that was perfect prequel. The bar menu had all kinds of delicious bites and fun cocktails, and bar service was also great. Everything WONDERFUL, from beginning to end.
We had a excellent experience at Truluck’s. The service and atmosphere were impeccable. The drinks were very good but a bit pricey. All of the food was very good with the only exception being the sauce under the crab cakes which had a too much mayonnaise. That said, I do highly recommend the crab fried rice and lobster mash. Otherwise just be aware that the costs here will add up pretty quickly so if you are cost conscious be sure ask your sever as you are ordering.
We had a great time. My husband brought me here for my birthday. The service is amazing. Our server was Hillary and she made sure we felt at ease and made our experience worthwhile. She was so sweet and kind and went above and beyond. The food was great. Ambience was nice too it could be a little brighter just a tad. The bread and butter they serve is out of this world. I got their scallops and shrimp and my husband got their salmon - both were delicious. The sides we enjoyed were lobster mashed potatoes, mushrooms, and lyonnaise potatoes! For dessert we picked the creme brûlée which we really enjoyed and our server made it special by putting happy birthday on it and wishing me as well. Great experience!
Valentine's meal was romantic and the food excellent. I know not to order the tomato salad because its literally a giant tomato lol. I'll try the redfish next time.
Truluck's went above and beyond for my dad's 80th birthday. This is his favorite restaurant and the staff there certainly lived up to his expectations. The food and drinks were amazing. We were a party of 10 and everyone raved about their meals. Thank you so much to the incredible waitstaff for making the evening so nice.
We had an amazing dining experience here celebrating birthday: Our server was welcoming, warm, attentive and patiently explained everything needed. Calamari was surprisingly lightly breaded compared to other places. It had a sweet kick to it and very very light sour flavor in the sauce. I’m guessing they are going for a thai flavor based on the sauce and basil leaves, green onions, peppers. Crab cake tasted like all other places except you get that naturally sweet freshness in every flake of crab meats. Stone crab claws are a must order here! Soooooo fresh and sweet we didn’t need any of the mayo sauce on the side, just a squeeze of lemon is enough. Blue crab stuffed lobster tail tasted as expected, great that they had spinach inside so everything doesn’t taste too heavy. Truffle fries could probably use more truffle seasoning as we couldn’t really taste much of it, and they became soggy after just a few minutes but I wouldn’t care about this too much. Lastly the flaming ice cream cake was a true blast!!!! It tasted way too good! I would recommend anyone here especially for a special occasion.
Just finished celebrating a birthday here!! Such a great experience. The manager Oliver was amazing and very accommodating! Our waitress Raquel and Hailey were amazing! We were a big party of 14! They were so patient and kind! They even put cute little stars on the table for decor! 10/10!
All the seafood was excellent. Super-fresh and you can literally taste the sea. But why didn't they get a 5 star on food? The sides/add-on were not a good complement to the main. For example, I love their crab guacamole, but the plantain chip were not crunchy. This devalues the entire dish. I saw a few people didn't even eat the plantain chip. If they would just air-fry it a bit so it's crunchy, this dish would be perfect. Same for the mash potato that came with the king crab. They are not bad, but just not good enough as it didn't make the main (the sea food) better. Overall, I think it's still a solid 5 star restaurant as the service and ambience is great.
Everything was delicious! I got the Bon-Ton martini at our server's recommendation, as well as the shrimp and scallop dish, and carrot cake to share. So good! And our server, Zach, was wonderful. I appreciated his recommendations, and he was incredibly personable and easy to chat with.
Newly renovated, gorgeous environment, and fabulous bar with authentic seafood menu (flown in fresh) and an expansive and high quality list of happy hour offerings. Best fresh seafood options in Houston. Highly recommend the lobster bisque, and stone crab claws (best in town). The menu is regularly updated with fresh offerings. Excellent, top notch customer service, bartenders, chefs, and waitstaff.
Very expensive and very good. Do not eat bread! It's so good, my husband kept eating it, and then didn't have any space to finish his amazing king crab. I have enjoyed scallops with cauliflower rice. Very delicious. We are recommending this restaurant to all of our friends, and looking forward to out next visit.
This place is superb! I give it top scores because from appetizers to desserts, quality and presentation was consistent throughout. Everyone enjoyed their selections, seafood, steaks, all excellently prepared. The French press coffee was the best I have ever had. It was thick and black but not bitter. It was the perfect finish to those decadent desserts. We were treated graciously by valet to hosts to servers. They were knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and made our occasion very special. Live music was also playing and a couple even danced to one of the songs. It added to the ambiance instead of being distracting or too loud. We were dining with kids and they were accommodating to them as well. I wish we had one closer to our hometown. we would make many more happy memories here!
We went to the location in Houston for the first time. We have eaten at a location in Ft. Lauderdale and were so happy with it and were pleased to see there was one near us now. Today was our 7 year wedding anniversary and the service and food was just wonderful. The manager Oliver really was the nicest man and great at his job! Our waitress Mel was very helpful and delightful and informative, a perfect experience. The hostess’s were also friendly and accommodating as we arrived a little early for our reservation. We are grateful to dine at an establishment that takes their business serious and wants you to leave happy!!
This is a wonderful restaurant to go to for celebrations or just a nice meal. Service is top notch and food is always amazing. One of the best places I’ve been to in Houston!
First time for me. Legit. In town for a biz meeting. Wish they had one in Arizona. But amaz8ng. My client, boss and I decided to split dishes- ordered the jalapeno salmon, filet, and sea bass. Wow on all 3. Sides included crab fried rice, brocollinis, mushrooms and loaded potatoes. Started with oysters and a few Rockefeller.. overall 5 stars. Service was amazing. Bill was too but well worth it.
What a treat. Our dining experience was amazing! The whole staff was very nice and Elizabeth took great care of us. There is not enough room on this post to describe how wonderful the food tasted. This treasure will definitely be one our dining destination forever. It was really 10 out 10 for us. My photos are not the best but trust me when I say the food will make you want to come back for more.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Truluck's and had an amazing experience. From the valet services, the front desk to the server, everyone paid so much attention to every single detail, including an anniversary card and wonderful dessert. I have to give a shout out to Jesuz, our server who made sure the food came out at the right time, allowed us to customize the oysters, took great pictures of us and treated us very special the whole time. The food was very delicious and flavorful, thank you to the amazing chef.
This is an incredibly delicious seafood restaurant, and you must try their stone crab; the portions are very good and the meat is fresh and sweet. It’s quite surprising to find such quality in Texas. Their lobster roll is also fantastic, with perfectly toasted, crispy bread. We also ordered the crab cake and the fried calamari salad, and their sauce has a slight sweetness that complements the overall flavors of the salad and calamari. I will definitely come back if I have the chance.
Food and service were outstanding. I must say the waiter got me to try cold seafood which would typically be a juxtaposition to my temperature preference. However the stone crab claws served chilled were incredible. I will definitely return to this establishment. Also once the waiter learned it was our anniversary he went well out of his way to ensure our night was memorable.
I'll keep this simple and short. This was our first time dining here and I have to say, it was by far one of the best experiences we've had dining out. Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly. Our server went above and beyond what any server would do at an upscale establishment. Hats off to everyone from the valet to the chefs. Trulucks gets two thumbs up for everything! We'll be back and you'll return too once you've shared this experience.
We were there for date night, belated Valentines day celebration. We've been to many fine dining experiences in Houston, Austin, Las Vegas so we have high expectations. Truluck really embodied what a high class restaurant should be, from the service to the meal and the valet parking. The waitress we had was very kind, friendly, helpful and enticing us with the dishes on the menu. The stone crab claw was sweet and fresh tasting. The oysters were delicious. We had the lamb entree and the seabass. Both were delicious and titillating. Although the meal was pricey, it was well worth it.
Trulucks is true luxury. The food is top tier, service impeccable and their recent remodel is GORGEOUS and brings a new ambiance to the space. There are too many great dishes to choose a favorite but stand-outs include their stone crab claws (love that they’re sustainable), oysters and miso sea bass. They also make a perfect steak and carrot cake worth dying for. They think of every detail - from the warm towel after chilled seafood to the cold fork for your salad - dinner is always a dream.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday yesterday at Truluck’s, and everything was absolutely wonderful. We had the Fresh Oysters, Lobster Tempura Bao, Cold-Water Lobster Tail, and Redfish Pontchartrain—every single dish was delicious and exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was perfect, elegant yet comfortable, and the service was outstanding. The staff went above and beyond to make the evening special, congratulating my husband multiple times and even surprising us with a complimentary dessert at the end.
My wife and I visited Truluck’s for a late Valentine’s celebration on 2/16 to avoid the crowds, and we had a very enjoyable evening. Our server, Hector, was attentive and personable, though he was clearly juggling another table that was unusually demanding, which occasionally pulled him away. Even so, he handled things well. Because it was a Monday, the medium stone crabs were buy one, get one half off. We shared four as an appetizer, and they were excellent—so much so that I ordered six more as my entrée. The only disappointment was the presentation: the appetizer came with separate plates, bowls for shells, and small forks, but none of that accompanied the entrée. While the distraction from the other table may have contributed, the food runners should have noticed and addressed the setup. In general, the runners lacked a bit of polish, though it’s possible the tight half‑booth we were seated in made service more awkward. Regardless, the stone crabs themselves were outstanding. My wife had the blue crab–stuffed lobster tail, which was also very good, and we shared a Caesar salad that was tasty but a bit small for the price. It had been quite a while since our last visit, and the remodel is impressive—the interior looks great. We enjoyed the intimacy of the half‑booth, though it was a little difficult to slide in and out. The restaurant now plays more upbeat music, which fits the refreshed atmosphere, but it was a bit loud for our taste. Overall, it was a very enjoyable evening with excellent food. A few small service and presentation details kept it from being truly exceptional, but we still had a lovely time.
This was my first time visiting Truluck’s and I have to say dinner was quite a delightful experience. I had lobster bisque, calamari, the Mediterranean branzino and for dessert, the world’s best carrot cake (it really was!). Everything was delicious and the staff was friendly. I’d definitely recommend for personal or business get togethers and can’t wait to return!
Amazing experience! My older brother and I brought our parents out to celebrate their 35th anniversary and we had one of the best dining experiences! Our server Zach is top notch - he was very friendly, engaging, attentive, and knowledgeable, he took care of everything and we never had to ask him for anything twice. He truly was the best!Hailey was also wonderful in serving our table she provided excellent silent service but always had a smile on her face. She moved around us clearing plates and resetting so fast and quiet that our conversations were never interrupted and we never had to ask for drinks our cups were always full and the food was delicious! During the meal - there was a little issue with my plate so Zach and the manager Oliver came by and made sure to handle it right away and went above and beyond to remedy the issue. Definitely TOP Service. They were so gracious. They made the celebration extra special with roses decorating the table as well as complimentary desserts, my goodness were they decadent - unfortunately we were so full we could barely take a couple bites but the chocolate cake, the carrot cake, and the baked Alaska were such a treat. We will definitely be back! I came here once years ago and talked about it to my family all this time and now they got a chance to experience it and they too are excited to come back for more special occasions 😊👌🏻thank you Zach, Hailey, and Oliver for making it such a wonderful experience! One last comment: if you pay attention you’ll notice the music is not loud at all, the sound that fills the room is the conversations going on at all the tables - I took a look around and did not see any tables near me with phones out. I think that’s the point of having the music low - people can actually have conversations. Hence the reason I forgot to take pictures of the food to include here - I only remembered to take my phone out of my purse at the end when they were bringing the desserts. Isn’t that beautiful. ❤️
Servers are attentive, friendly and well informed of the menu dishes and drinks. Food is excellent…we tried Rockefeller Oysters, Stone Crab, Prime Ribeye, Parker House Rolls, Mashed Potatoes and asparagus. All courses were well-plated, hot and tastefully seasoned. The steak was medium with a bit of red…the most tender steak we’ve ever eaten.
This was an absolutely incredible experience ! The manager Jay was so nice and saw we were waiting for a server and came over to help us . He comped our appetizer and side for the trouble and was very attentive to us . He brought over an incredible server named Hillary who gave us excellent service . The food was outstanding and the whole experience was first class . We would recommend this to all our friends based on the excellent service we got from Hillary and Jay and the wonderful food . A++++++ experience.
We out with my boyfriend for date night. Louis was our server and it was the absolute best service we ever had. It was immaculate. Drinks were delicious they took my favorite drink off the menu called the lively up but they were still able to make it for me. We started with the jumbo stone crab claws. We ordered the Ora king salmon, branzino with extra tomatoes, and the creamed spinach. They used to broil or bake the cheese on the spinach which was the best but I don’t think they do anymore but it was still wonderful. The baked Alaska was incredible. Will ask for Louis and the remodel was beautiful.
This place is always a pleaser. I've been to the one in Dallas, TX; Washington, DC; and now this one in Houston, TX. It never fails me. The food, the service, atmosphere, everything is always top of the line. The ambiance is so nice and the staff are welcoming, polite and extremely professional. Also they do this cool thing with a dessert for birthdays. It's lit.....literally! If you haven't been to any of their locations, it is a must do.
I had such a wonderful experience at Truluck’s! The seafood is incredibly fresh—especially the raw oysters, which were my favorite. Every dish I tried was delicious, and you can really taste the quality in everything they serve. On top of that, the service was excellent—so attentive and welcoming, which made the whole dining experience even better. Definitely one of my go-to spots in Houston for seafood!
We celebrated our anniversary here, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. From start to finish, the experience was truly exceptional. Our server, Rogelio, provided impeccable service—attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. Every detail was taken care of without ever feeling rushed. The food was outstanding, but the highlight of the evening was the Baked Alaska—hands down one of the best desserts we’ve ever had. Beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable, making it the perfect place for a special occasion. We left feeling completely taken care of and already can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!
Everything was delicious. The Parker Parmesan Rolls were worth the flight. The food was worth the return. Everything was prepared to perfection. My sister and I visted two years ago while in Houston and we couldn’t wait to return. It was worth the traffic we dodged to get there. We dined early afternoon to be sure not to leave without visiting again. The host was very friendly and our server was very attentive. I cannot wait to return again.
It was my first time coming here to celebrate my birthday with my husband, and it was such a beautiful and well-organized restaurant. They even put glitter on the table for a birthday touch. Such a cute gesture! Our server was very kind and attentive as well. I tried the king crab for the first time and it was absolutely delicious. Next time I would ask for regular melted butter instead of the citrus sour cream, only because the citrus can overpower the natural flavor of the crab, but thats personal preference. The crab itself was perfectly cooked and sweet. My Berry Patch zero-proof mocktail was refreshing and the flavors blended perfectly. I also highly recommend the lobster bisque. It’s rich, smooth, and full of flavor. It was the perfect appetizer. For dessert, they surprised us with a complimentary baked Alaska, and we also ordered their famous carrot cake, which is huge! We ended up taking the rest home. This is the perfect special occasion dining experience!
This is easily one of the best places to have a special dinner with someone you love. We shared our anniversary dinner here. It was the first time we had been, and I was sent by a friend to try out the stone crab. You cannot go wrong with this place. I think we have decided that special occasions will be celebrated her moving forward. The baked Alaska desert is other worldly.
Excellent dining experience. I come to Houston every few years on business and always go to Truluck's. The food is prepared as ordered, the service always excellent and the 🍸 delicious. The atmosphere is upscale and the vibe perfect for dinner. I had the filet and it was superb and my wife the miso glazed sea bass and it was magnificent. Drinks were martinis and old fashions and were made correctly. Dessert was the baked Alaska and it was as good as we have ever had and the presentation, as the photos show worth the cost.
As we were walking in it began to pour down rain and unfortunately we were soaked. The staff gave us towels & everyone was very kind. My best friend and I were there for her birthday & we were definitely the youngest people in there, often times when I am the youngest person in an upscale restaurant such as this, the service is not the best for whatever reason. Nothing could be more untrue about what we experienced tonight. The food was amazing. We had the Parker House style rolls & Calamri for an appetizer. I had the Petit Lobster Tails Scampi & my friend had the Blue Crab stuffed Lobster tails. Immaculate. They also blessed us with the baked Alaska, I believe, for my friends birthday. All in all it was an amazing experience & I highly recommend this establishment.
Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss you all are amazing!!! The food, ambiance, service, and anything I forgot to mention are a 10/10!!!! This was our first time dining with you, and you made our wedding anniversary that much special! Raquel, our assistant, was top-notch and a beautiful soul!! You all have the "white glove" service and know how to roll out the red carpet!! We will continue to patronize you for sure!! Thank you, and we salute you, my friends!!! Also, shoutout to Blanca for booking our special reservation!!! We had the chargrilled oysters, filet mignon, salmon, creamed spinach, stone crab, and fabulous drinks!!
The bar had a selection of higher end liquors. They need a broader selection at different price points and more rum. Food was good, but the stone crab claws were bland. It was my first time having them, so perhaps that's how it is. Use the sauce or request drawn butter. Shrimp and scallops were great. And the ribeye was tasty too. Over all, it was a great dinner.
My wife & I dined at Truluck's tonight to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I made a reservation this morning through OpenTable & noted the special occasion. From the moment we walked through the door, we truly were very well taken care of. The hostess, Sharon, was an absolute gem! She warmly greeted us & told us Happy Anniversary. Sharon walked us to our lovely table/booth & placed a Happy Anniversary card on the table along with confetti. She even switched out my wife's white napkin for a black napkin to color coordinate with our outfits! It was just such a nice little touch & it really showed her eye for detail. Our waitress, I believe her name was Hillary, was attentive & thorough. For my drink, I tried the house made Sangria. I enjoyed it & I do not usually drink. For my appetizer, I ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake & the Blue Crab Stuffed Lobster Tails for my entre. The crab cake was phenomenal. 10/10, would & will order that again! The lobster tails were very good as well, along with the sides. My wife ordered a Spicy Blackberry Margarita & the Maine Lobster Thermidor for her entre. She enjoyed everything! At the end of dinner, Hillary brought out a beautiful Baked Alaska & flambeed it at our table. She also boxed our leftovers & brought out two exquisitely delicious truffles for us to go. Our experience at Truluck's was truly 5 stars & we will return!

Wonderful service from the staff and crew, food was exquisite!! Lovely ambience, and music!
This is an elegant place for special occasions. From the valet, the hostess, the wait staff, food, drinks, and desserts, you will not be disappointed.
My husband and always enjoy a meal at Truluck's. The seafood is exceptional as is the service, and the dining area is elegant.
Love the happy hour menu! Great drinks and food at decent prices! The bar staff were attentive and made wonderful suggestions. Will definitely return for more!
I have enjoyed Truluck’s for the past 15 years in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Naples and now, Houston. This is a world class, premiere seafood and steak extravaganza. We took an early dinner, 4:30 PM, th…

Sat at the bar and had drinks—pianist playing. Dinner in a corner booth—delicious fish, steak and huge carrot cake dessert. Easy valet parking. Great for a quiet dinner.
The food was absolutely delicious! Best I've had and we just came from Galveston! The service was top notch and the crab cakes were to die for. I can't wait to come back!
Service, food, and ambiance excellent The Servers were attentive and timely. The food was just the right temperature The dining room is beautiful with a touch of red rose
Reservations were at 8pm, we were seated with high hopes. Our server was Luis, his service was absolutely terrible! He made us feel like we were a second thought. When my boyfriend asked for any off menu items he rushed through them didnt explain any ingredientsor make any suggestions. So us having a past being servers we tried to empathize as it was a Friday night, until we saw him giving the 5 top seated across from us as he was the hostess with the mostest! He was charming patient and thoroughly explained everything to them. It was obvious that he didnt take the same time and energy with all of his tables as he should. It was disappointing to see that you can patronize an establishment of this caliber and they don't provide the service that their prices would insinuate are included. I would go back but that server needs some serious training on how to treat all of you guests with the same respect and energy, as it can ruin a entire dining experience.
I took my wife here for her birthday. Made reservations on OpenTable which was a seamless experience. We were greated and seated quickly after arrival. The host sprinkled confetti stars on the table and provided us menus. Followed by a waiter who took our drink order and poured us water. My wife had the Viola with vodka and I stuck with my favorite, a classic, the Old Fashioned. We decided to get strait to business and skip the appetizers. We did however order a Caesar Salad which I asked for an extra plate so we could split it and they brought it out already split on our own plates and it was plenty! With fresh lemon on the side you can really taste the freshness of the dressing, and the anchovies! We tried to order bread but it never came. Note to Self: Don’t tell the servers you want to order something. (we weren’t charged) I ordered the Redfish Ponchartrain and added two Scallops. She had the Ribeye with the added Lobster Thermidor. Both of these dishes were so delicious! The table warmed butter for the steak is a great touch. The fish was spectacular and the scallops were perfect. We ordered Truffle Fries, Broccoli, & the Lobster Mashed Potatoes as sides and were not disappointed. The fries were fresh and crisp. The Broccoli was fresh and delicious with fresh squeezed lemon. Didn’t know I needed it. The star of the show is without question the Lobster Mash. The amount of Lobster was substantial. These never miss. For Dessert the restaurant provided their signature Baked Alaska with a flame show. Perfect touch for my wife who had never been or experienced this. Her first time trying a baked Alaska and she couldn’t get enough. Really, I feel like this dessert is not given enough credit. I let my sweet tooth get the best of me and went ahead and ordered and Affogato. Then the waiter mentioned a limited time Chocolate Cheesecake which I couldn’t resist so I got one of those also. The Affogato was delicious as always. A must really. The cheesecake I could see being something you will either love or hate. Very strong flavor profiles from the cherries and real chocolate. I loved it and so did my wife. This has always been one of my favorite places to dine and celebrate events. Prior this trip I hadn’t been in 6 years, when I celebrated my 30th birthday. I am definitely not going to let that much time go by without making a trip back. (The service was ok overall. We did feel we weren’t given the attention or same type of service other tables in our area were receiving by the same waiter but I imagine this could vary on each visit depending on server.)
Order - 2017 Keenan Cabernet Sauvignon - Parmesan yeast rolls - Dozen of Oysters - Wedge Salad - Miso-Glazed Seabass - Lobster Ravioli - Lobster Mashed Potatoes - Pan-Seared Broccoli - Baked Alaskan dessert Recommend setting up reservations. Especially when your girlfriend's birthday happens to fall on Valentines Day weekend every year. I booked our table a month in advance. Use valet as parking is hard to come by and why waste time looking for a spot! Great atmosphere and excellent service. No complaints on food either. Normally I order a steak and the girlfriend gets the fish, but our waitress sold me on the Lobster Ravioli. And I am glad she did! We did have left overs as our eyes were bigger than our stomach but the next day the food was still damn good! Recommend this place for anyone. Enjoy!
Fancy restaurant. Expensive, yes. Customer service, very good. The servants will explain the menu line by line if you ask them. Food tastes great, and it could improve a little bit. Dessert is tasty, but some are too sweet for me. It wasn't that crawded when we went there (new year), i was surprised. Overall, we had a great experience and will come again for a special occasion. Unless we win a billion dollar lottery, then we might go there weekly.
I’ve been here twice now and both times I was not very impressed. The service is great, but for the price point i expect the food to be really good! Both times my steak wasn’t cooked as requested and something on the table was cold when it should’ve been hot. Side note the au gratin potatoes are small cubed potatoes loaded. Not an au gratin at all. The meatballs are really delicious and the service again is great. I would like to note I came here on my birthday and the birthday dessert was beautiful and delicious. I’d come back for this alone.
Have been to many Truluck's across the country. This one had broken the king crab legs into sections for some reason. Over cooked. The fillets were less than average. Under seasoned. The baked Alaska always hits the spot. Service was spot on but the atmosphere had a weird vibe. Valet took up most of a parking lot which seemed odd. You have a parking lot why have a valet? Especially taking so many empty spots during the week.
Came here for an anniversary dinner. There is valet and limited self-parking available. The ambiance is as you would expect for a fine dining restaurant. Service was very professional from the host…
Nice place and great service by rose. Had the crab claws to start and then the lobster. Not cheap but tasty and the lobster was huge surprised me with size. Nice wine along.

Great atmosphere and playlist; unique backlit menus; excellent, personalized service; high-quality, fresh seafood. Our lobster tail (biggest we've ever eaten), crab claws, and scallops were cooked …
My husband and I have been going to this restaurant for many years for many of our celebrations. Our last visit was very disappointing. The waiter who was assigned to us fell short. Our various phases of food was provided, but during clearing of the table, to provide our entree, my husband's fork was taken and our table was never re-visited until the end of the meal. He and I had to share a fork, which allowed his food to become cold. The second thing which was disappointing, was that the restaurant was very loud. The waiter had to speak very loud so that we can hear him. It will be awhile before we revisit.
Dessert was ok. All the dessert options were huge to feed a horse. I prefer a small really well done than a huge tasteless. The cakes were okay, a bit heavy. The food is average but not impressive for the price you are paying. I won't probably go back there since there is nothing that really stayed on my head. The ambience is great. Love the live piano music, very chic. The server was a bit dry, almost arrogant, he didn't make us feel welcome at all.
HONESTLY. Disappointed with our trip here. Overpriced food. The service was GREAT. But the space was not for me. The room was too dark. They had a live pianist, and that was too loud. The food was underwelming. I would never go back here. I'm pretty sure only had a crab arm and left and got pizza or something after. Was a sad valentine's day experience.
The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and the service was pleasant although a bit rushed in my opinion. The lobster bisque was unfortunately cold and the sea-bass dish was just "okay" We came to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We did enjoy the lemon drops and selection of wine. Would I come back? Not entirely sure. Wasn't all bad but wasn't amazing either.

Disappointing experience at the bar on what should have been the first evening of all you can eat Florida Stone crab claws of the new 2025-2026 season. No more all you can eat Mondays at Trulucks! (even though their one of their managers responded to a previous review with, “Cheers, to many more all you can eat Mondays”). They gave me the price for medium claws by phone at 4:20 PM and then again, before I ordered for dinner service, during the evening. However, when I got the check they charged a different price for the 10 claws I ordered. I explained to the female bartender the price I had been quoted, not once but twice; she became rude with me. Earlier, she also never brought me what I had asked her for to have with beverage. I had to flag down the other bartender to get what I had asked for when it was clear she was not going to bring them. I spoke with management about the situation and they said they had received an email at 3:30 PM with a price correction. Although the manager gave me a discount as well as had adjusted my check, it is doubtful I will return to support this business after receiving rude service; pricing errors the staff member no effort to correct on their own. I used to come here regularly for AYCE Mondays but the manager also told me if they were to do the all you can eat option this season it would need to be $ 160 (last season it was $ 99).
Came for lunch, ordered the lux burger medium rare. Driest burger I ever had and cooked well done. So disappointed about this $21 burger. Never again.

I’ve been going to Truluck’s for over 20 years, and it has been my go-to place for birthdays, especially for their Monday all-you-can-eat stone crab claws. I made reservations for a recent Monday evening specifically for that experience. When we arrived, we were informed that the promotion had been discontinued and that “an email went out a month ago,” although I never received any such email. I asked to speak with the manager. He came to our table, offered an explanation and a brief apology, and gave no alternatives other than their new à-la-carte “buy one, get one free” option. Since this was a birthday celebration and the promotion was the entire reason for our reservation, we decided not to stay. While we were outside discussing our next steps, the manager came out to speak with us again. This is where the situation went from disappointing to unacceptable. He repeated that the restaurant had been losing money on the all-you-can-eat crab, but then added, unprompted, that they especially lost money “when Asian people came,” claiming they didn’t eat the crab, asked for to-go containers to take it home, and that some even put crab in their purses. When my friend responded, “That’s not what we do. And if that was happening, you could have stopped it or put up a sign.” His only response was, “What could I do - ask to look in their purses?” He said this to three Asians - myself, my son, and my friend. His comments were inappropriate, unprofessional, deeply offensive and racist. Stereotyping Asian customers as cheap or dishonest is unacceptable in any context, let alone coming from a manager and directed at Asian guests. The fact that the manager himself was Asian made the remarks even more baffling and disappointing. I’m still stunned he thought this was acceptable to say. He invited us to come back inside but by then the experience was beyond salvageable. What could have been an opportunity to make things right instead became the reason I will never return. Truluck’s had every opportunity to handle this respectfully, especially for a birthday celebration, but the manager’s comments ensured otherwise. I completely understand a business decision to end the promotion. What I cannot overlook is the offensive and racist comments and the lack of customer service we experienced. After two decades of dining at Truluck’s, this visit was sadly my last.
I attended my cousins’s birthday dinner party on Friday, 2/20/26. The was $100.00 per person, which 19 people, which included my granddaughter and the birthday person. I along with most of my family had looked at the menu online and new what we wanted to order for the $100.00, however, once there we were met with a very limited menu, three selections for main entree, & two selections for dessert. I ordered the salmon, which was very dry and extremely bland. I know what cardboard tastes like after taking two bites of this disgusting entree & literally spitting into my napkin. My nine year old granddaughter had chicken tenders and only took a few bites. She told one of my aunts the food was nasty. This was the review for most of us in the room. The waiting staff in the room were very rude. One waitress you ask for something was standoffish and would answer you with a sarcastic way. When it was time for the dessert to be delivered to everyone I wanted and after all were clearly bought out, I didn’t receive my dessert. I stopped this waitress to inquire as to the fact I had not received one and before I could let her know my inquiry she immediately stated “I know you have Key Lime Pie”, and she walked off. Another 15 minutes past and I stopped her and I told her to just listen to my question before you respond. I have not received my dessert. That is when she responded “Oh you haven’t”. She asked another waiter why my dessert had not been bought out. It was another ten minutes be for I received the dessert, which by this time I had to have them jut box it to go, as we were getting ready to leave. Needless to say it was late so by the time I got home at 11:10 p.m. I was not going to consume it until the next day. For 19 guests, which included my nine year old granddaughter & the birthday person, the bill was over $3600.00, for food that was not good in any way. Well the dessert was okay. Upscale, no way! The only part of this restaurant that was upscale was the ambiance. The food and service was no where near upscale. I can honestly say, I would never again spend one cent in Truluck’s after my experience.
