Ordered the turkey club from the pub on howe and i have to say it was one tasty sandwhich

Pretty cool bar. Pool tables, pinball, and dot darts on the side. Decent beer selection. Jukebox was killer

Walking into The Pub blew my mind. I used to go to Sully’s 30 years ago. What they have done is amazing. Keep a bit of nostalgia (50ft handgarved bar) best around. Walk through the doors and it’s the place to be. Outdoor patio large room plenty of tv. Yet so comfortable. The wings are the best, nobody does it like they do. Consistency is key. Burgers hands down one of the juiciest ever. Dan won’t tell where he get um But you would be disappointed if you left without trying the Irish Egg Roll. It has corned beef, cabbage and other delectabls in it. And they roll them by hand. And that not easy but worth it Great Place to Go

This bar was awesome! It's huge with ample space... Outside seating... Great choice of beers... I had a Moscow mule... Great music you can choose yourself on a jukebox... I had the corned beef egg rolls... They were awesome... The lady I was with had a burger larger than her head! I will be visiting this place again for sure!

All I can say is.......$2 TACO/MARGARITA TUESDAYS.....Are truly AMAZING....I wasn't expecting much when I arrived but once the 1st $2 Margarita arrived it was served in a beer mug, not a 8 oz cup from the $1 store but a full sized 12 oz Beer Mug, and it was delicious. The $2 Tacos where there are a variety of Beef, Chicken, or Cod fish, were regular sized tacos, not the bite sized ones I was expecting!!! And they were delicious. After 8 Margaritas and 3 Tacos (I had eaten prior to arrival.....bad idea), my daughter and I awaited for the less than $25 bill. Total Mind Blowing. I used to despise Tuesday's.........Thank you Pub on Howe I am totaling loving them now.

I recently moved to Shelton, Ct from Westchester, NY. A few of my neighbors in the building I live in (The Birmingham) and my wife recently have been frequenting The Pub on Howe. I would like to comment about the restaurant by saying: a) The owner, bartenders, and staff are down to earth, very polite, and extremely friendly. b) The food and drinks are not only delicious but also affordable! c) The back room/pool area is so much fun to spend a few hours chatting with the local patrons at the restaurant or spending quality time with friends/family! Love this local Pub and will definitely be spending a lot of time & money here 😝

I am a chef by trade so I always look for the low points in the food execution, atmosphere, and service. I found none, the staff greets you with a smile, the atmosphere is old school pub, brick wall with rustic wood trim. It is a relaxed atmosphere, the service was attentive and on point without be intrusive. Our apps came out in a timely manner and delicious. The main course again came out as we were finishing our apps, everything was cooked to temp and very tasty! We didn't feel rushed which was a nice change from most places we have visited lately. The menu is pub fair, which is what we expected, they don't try to be everything to everyone by offering too much on the menu which means what they do offer is very well executed. All in all we highly recommend the gem, great find. We will be making this our go-to spot for Sunday fun-day!!

1st time here! Staff was awesome - especially Paul B at the door!! Super friendly! Place felt very welcoming. Regina in the kitchen cooked our medium buffalo wings to perfection! Nice bit of heat which left your lips "tingly", but not overpowering & the skin was crispy. Yum! Pool tables in the back rooms are a nice touch.

Great neighborhood bar was friendly owner and staff. Very good for the older crowd and young people as well. Not your typical Shelton bar where you have to worry about getting in a fight.

Used to be Downtown Danny O's... Not as Great as they used to be, but the potential is there. The bartenders are quick, polite, and easy on the eyes. The food is tasty enough to want seconds. And the drinks ... Well, the drinks are tasty as well, and they do their job nicely too. Come on down, and see if this Pub can be your home away from home... On Howe. ;)

I had a really good rack of ribs here for a great price. The waitress was very friendly and talkative. My only complaint would be that we waited quite a while for our food and it wasn't very busy. Other than that, we were happy with our experience.

Great place! did a fantastic job with the remodel. Chill relaxed vibe, pretty good local beer selection. Wife really liked her Mediterranean mule. Didn't eat but the menu and food looked very good. Will be back for sure

They slice it nice and thick, and combined with the sauerkraut, thousand island dressing, and crisp grilled rye bread, you will be drooling just looking at it! The sandwich comes with a couple onion rings on top, which was an awesome touch that along with the crinkle-cut fries and excellent pickle, will satisfy you every time. This place is very spacious, welcoming, and clean. There is an outdoor patio area as well, and they have a rooftop bar during warm weather too! Located right on Howe Ave in the middle of downtown Shelton, it's easy to find, and there's a free public parking lot across the street. I highly recommend a visit, you will be glad you went!

Comparatively speaking about pubs in the area, this one is a good one. Good atmosphere. Nice staff. Decent apps. I just can't find a pub that is comfortable like in the real Irish style around the area. All that complaining aside, the pub on Howe looks good from the street and has a vibe that you can settle into.

I went there for a drink and I ordered some food. I didn’t like the service at all. But food was okay. They didn’t have napkins around the bar area. They also served me food without napkins or knives and folks. The bartenders were not friendly. But the place is really nice and clean.

We went there for the first time. Tacos Tuesday is good for the price but the margarita is just sugary drink with less/no alcohol.

Typical bar food, great beer selection. Prices might be a little higher for what you get. Food wasn't bad but we were curious why it was so dead in there at 7:00pm on a Saturday. Looked like everyone was in Porkys when we left, so if you want a quiet alternative to the local favorite, try this place.

The food was amazing & the gentleman not sure if he's the owner or the manager was very nice & helpful! The bartenders on the other hand was exstreamly rude & the drinks were gross. Will not go back for drinks.

Worst service, tried to order a drink but then was accused of “having too much to drink” when I asked politely to fix the drink that was suppose to be a vodka lemonade, but was clear as water. Then was harassing me and my friends for bringing in leftovers from another place and came up to us and asked “how was dinner” multiple times. Then he told us to leave after standing up for ourselves when he kept hounding us, and then took my drink and told us to leave

Horrible horrible customer service. the “manager” is horrible. Had to stop for a friend who was having an emergency, the manager told my friend she can use the bathroom but has to pay for something. Friend calls me and asks me to come in and pay, I come in and explain to the other employee that “i’m here to pay for someone so they can use the bathroom” my friend comes back out and we try to decide what to buy cause we are only there for the bathroom we lost a few things off and ask what we should buy but when the employee heard that we were only there for the bathroom she said not to worry about it. which lead to the “manager” running out after us and screaming at my friend saying she didn’t pay and is banned for not being a customer. I tried to reach out to speak to a manager or someone else to have this situation cleared up and figure out why we were treated so rudely but only kept getting the same attitude back and accusations saying we were only gonna buy $2.50. no offense low paying or not having an emergency and getting treated by being yelled at for no reason even after we tried to pay and offered to just tip for letting my friend use the bathroom. {Edited: How is the government at fault for your staff screaming over a tiny situation when we offered to pay. Had 0 problem paying but instead have major problems with the bad treatment....great response...

Overall: do yourself a favor, steer clear. More detail: Rough, edgy, local scene. If you like playing the game of pool ultra-competitively, & you stick with a cocktail that's no more than 2 ingredients, & you're feeling frisky or perhaps fancy a confrontation, you found yourself your spot.

I’m absolutely floored over the unprofessionalism of the two female bartenders. These women are a horrible representation of this establishment and are doing the owner a major disservice. They will 100% cause this business to fail. Im a 30-year old woman and had just gone in to use the bathroom while my fiancé went to order us drinks. One of the bartenders (brunette older woman) entered the bathroom to tell me to “hurry up” because she was waiting to card me (I was in there for a matter of minutes). When I approached the bar and handed her my ID, she demanded another form of which I presented. I then mentioned (to my fiancé) that this was kind of aggressive and at this point, the bartender took major offense and began to yell at me about what I had said. She muttered to the other bartender that she was not going to serve us and then proceeded to announce the same message aloud in front of other patrons. She stated that the reason was because I had offended her with my comment. She threatened to call the police on me when I questioned why she was kicking us out. The other bartender (a blonde younger girl) simply raised her voice to tell the other woman to stop yelling. We voluntarily left only to be followed by patrons who left immediately to let us know how outrageous the incident was. This behavior is intolerable and absolutely horrendous. I’ve never had an experience like this in my entire life. It seems like these women are unsupervised and perhaps are used to taking the easy way out towards the end of the night. These are most unprofessional people I’ve dealt with in years. Please hire competent and polite staff. A few words of wisdom to the owner after reflecting on this incident: Based on the reviews, the emotional outbursts from this bartender seem to be a pattern. She was very reactive and vengeful. As the owner, I’m sure you’ve invested your life’s savings into your establishment and you should choose employees you can can trust to uphold your bar’s reputation when you are not there. This bartender seems to enjoy power- playing with customers and doesn’t care who she offends. However, I’m a local educator with many colleagues that enjoy going out for happy hour in the area. People talk about their experiences and it’s unfortunate to have had this one. I’m sure as the owner, this does not reflect your values but you should really consider the impact of employees like this. Danny O- This response does not surprise me but it’s a pity because you will continue to experience similar occurrences that will ultimately damage your reputation as a community bar. It is clear that you do not value your customers or care about their experiences at your establishment. At no point were your bartenders’ actions warranted and what was said was in response to the crass behavior that both your customers and myself witnessed. While the behavior was most definitely called out, I unfortunately did not use profanity and would think twice before making those accusations. I am coming to you from a first time customer standpoint; this is not a turf war. I’ve spent a large portion of my upbringing in Shelton but was flabbergasted at the behavior that you apparently support and allow to continue. I will spread the word about my experience here so that others might be spared of a wasted evening. Best of luck.

I was hoping to have fun on my 21st birthday here, not get rudely kicked out (along with my family) because "it wasn't the day after my birthday". It was 10:00 PM, 2 hours difference. Didn't even get a "happy birthday," but got a "you have to leave right now." Thanks for showing a Shelton resident that would have been a patron where to NEVER go.

I came to this bar after dinner with my girls tonight and we had leftover food from dinner and walked over since we were so close, we then were approved by the “owners wife” saying we weren’t allowed to bring our leftovers in as we were already sitting at the table. My friend opened a tab and ordered a drink it was wrong, no problem we go get it fixed as she’s at the bar the “owner” is standing there questioning her saying “oh must of had too much lemonade tonight” because it was suppose to be lemonade in the drink hence why we were back at the bar getting the drink fixed, then proceeds to come to our tables asking how our dinner was as if we weren’t questioned about the food several times already. We went there for a simple drink after dinner not realizing we’d be harassed over us having dinner before stopping at the bar before heading home. He then took my friends drink and told us to exit the building as we stood up for ourselves after this man talked to us in this disrespectful way. We went to this bar to simple enjoy the rest of our night and it was an unpleasant experience from this place tonight.

We asked if they were serving food/apps and the waitress just handed us the menu and didn’t say a word. We Got charged for things we didn’t even order. She Got everyone’s tabs messed up. Another staff member came around asking us not to vape inside when no one in our party was vaping. Waitress handed back my card to close my tab in the middle of a sports game as if she was cutting me off after only ordering two drinks and a couple apps.

Sad, I just move downtown a few days ago looking for a good stool to frequent. I’ll never come back, or recommend. Get ready to get ripped off if you come here

The security at the door doesn't know what real CT IDs look like. I came in with a friend and they claimed both our IDs were fake when they are, in fact, real. They even gave us a rundown on all the signs of them being fake IDs and we decided it wasn't even worth our time to argue so we left. It should be worrying for the management of this place that their front door security doesn't fully know what real Connecticut IDs look like.

My other friends won't join us here for the same reason. The staff represent the bar directly, and the inexperienced bartenders in this place are sadly running it into the ground. They even gave us a rundown on all the signs of them being fake IDs and we decided it wasn't even worth our time to argue so we left.
