The atmosphere was wholesome and welcoming. Ryan was very nice and polite.
The food is the best!! The service is warm & welcoming.
Let's face it, in a town of transplanted Manhattan chefs (yes plural) how good can Japanese cuisine by Fujian Chinese owners be? Answer: AMAZING. One of the consistently best restos in Hudson and rivals the flavors of the best Japanese restos in Mannyhatty at a fraction of the price. All the sushi and the specials rolls have been flavorful and well executed for YEARS. I have dined in Japan and at the best Japanese restos in Manhat and Bklyn, and say Wasabi can contend w them on the staples. Love Tony and Sharon, who never age.
I haven't been to too many sushi places but I really enjoyed the lunch specials. Found a new lunch treat in Hudson.
As always, the best Sushi restaurant in the Hudson Valley. Never disappoints. There's a reason I've been going there for thirteen years.
Great sushi bar and cooked foods. Never misses a beat. Also best green tea and red bean ice cream.
The portions are great, the food is fresh and delicious. I love this place!
I always enjoy this place. They always let me know what is fresh and if it's not...they don't serve it. Friendly and delicious.
Great sushi place. Great atmosphere and the staff are amazing. I just wish they were open inside!
Stopped in quick for a Godzilla roll and a cup of miso soup. Always friendly staff, quick service, and great food. :]
Wasabi is always good. The part I don't like is when they automatically add a tip to crediy card payments. It isn't posted anywhere that a tip is automatic.
The best sushi in Hudson is right here
exstreamly fresh sushi made in house with all fresh ingredients made by top notch chiefs very friendly staff and a lot of choices all you sushi lovers must try this small hidden gem they also have specialty cuts of fish that are very hard to get from other places such as uni
My ultimate favorite place. Love getting my shrimp and vegetables tempora lunch box...
Always love it here. Great selection of sushi and the staff are welcoming.
Awesome food and good atmosphere.....my girl learned how to use chopsticks which made it awesome....staff is pleasant as well ....
The food is amazing, as well as the people who work there. The price is great for where this restaurant is located.
Food was fresh and very good. Service could be better. The value for what you get was also very good.
Best sushi I have had locally. Delicious every time.
Always great sushi/sashimi here. One of my favorite restaurants!
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. In ambiance, food quality, professional service, cleanliness. Thank you for a delicious and memorable evening.
Consistent quality for years. We eat very little raw fish but the miso soup, seaweed salad, spider roll, California, tempura, soba etc are always satisfying and delicious. I they reopened dine in. Yay. I
I think it's fair to call Wasabi the most underrated restaurant in Hudson. They have an awesome lunch special that might win the award for best affordable lunch option in town, and the service is always pretty good. They have an attentive though not too attentive wait staff who are always very friendly and accommodating. Wasabi has become one of my go-to dining spots in Hudson.
The rolls are fresh and delicious and the veg dumplings were so good!
This uptown Hudson restaurant is everything you'd expect, delicious sushi and creative mains, perfect service and a great value. For lunch, it's the fastest and healthiest choice when there's a time crunch. My favorite go-to in Hudson, everyone is happy when eating at Wasabi.
Great food, friendly staff, water feature provides a nice ambiance.
My fave sushi spot for many years. So always fresh and consistent. Friendly staff, quick delivery of food, and large affordable menu!
Great spot and amazing fresh sushi! We ordered takeout but I sat inside the restaurant while it was getting prepared.
Very nicely Surprised by a great quality of sushi. Hidden gem worthy of checking out. Never disappointed.
Stopped in for a quick lunch. I ordered the Sashimi lunch and my husband ordered a California roll. This was my 2nd visit ever to Wasabi. Absolutely reccomend!! Quick service, great food, and very friendly. Cannot wait to go back!
We have been to Wasabi regularly for years.. always fresh ...lots of options...always satisfied when we leave...Great place to eat...
What's obvious amazing but of course in these particular times there is no inside dining. But you can call your order in although difficult to find the full menu online. You can get everything to go. And it is just as delicious at home as it is in the restaurant.
Seriously the best Japanese restaurant in Columbia County. This place serves the dopest assortment of Maki, Nigiri 😍 and Sashimi. They also have a large menu of large, delicious Japanese entree's, and even have specials weekly. If you're in Hudson and you want 🍣, this is where you go or you're doing it wrong.
taste good and made with love, cheap price for hudson and i love the interior design is so fun
Great fresh sushi for a decent price. Staff is always friendly. Wish they had better beer options.
Food is always excellent and fresh; service is good; owners Sharon and Tony are extremely friendly and welcoming. Good variety of fresh fish and plenty for non-sushi eaters.
Always yummy food, fast service and nice atmosphere.
The quality of the food has never disappointed my family and I. Every time I order their chicken teriyaki, the experience is always great. Very attentive and willing to answer any question about their menu!
First time here, coming all the way from Manhattan! Food was amazing, especially the 'Calamari Special'. My favorite was the Seafood Udon! And also, the restaurant itself was beautiful, and the atmosphere was cute and cozy! 5 stars, indefinitely.
This is my favorite sushi ever. Highly Rec the pleasant valley roll, angel roll, and explode roll. Their salad has an amazing orange dressing I wish I could buy and the miso soup is great. Everyone who works there is extremely polite and kind.
Wonderful restaurant! Great quality food, the sushi and sashimi were very fresh and delicious!Good service, unpretentious and nice vibe. Very reasonably priced. We ended up there by accident but really enjoyed our evening and dinner. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
I admit I order take out sushi from here usually once or twice a month. It’s convenient to my house and the sushi is the best in the area. Always fresh and the staff are all super kind and friendly. They just recently opened for dine-in again and the atmosphere is pleasant and cozy. Highly recommend for all you sushi lovers!
I have been going to Wasabi for the last 11 years while working in Hudson. The sushi, lunch box specials, and other food has been excellent. It is always well presented and the prices are very reasonable. The sushi has generous chunks of fish that taste fresh every visit. The Wasabi and ginger is what you would expect at a higher end sushi restaurant. I have always felt great after eating here. Of the hundreds of times I have visited they've never gotten an order wrong. The staff is very friendly and the expediter is always eager to converse. Thank you Wasabi for all the years of sushi and I wish you much success in the future.
I was so tired that I accidentally ordered a sashimi plate instead of a nigiri plate. No matter—they brought me a bowl of rice, free of charge, and no, I didn't even have to ask for it. It's this level of mind reading that's lost on the newer generation of servers. Well done, five stars.
Our go-to local Sushi spot, in Multiple occasions. Fast friendly service with quite good quality fish and rice. It has the right atmosphere, too. A score.
Excellent lunch meal. Chicken katsu was perfectly fried. Delicious! Lunch box great deal, lots of food.
Great little restaurant. This was our first time here. Got the deluxe sashimi plate. Cuts of fish were thick, fresh and a nice variety. They do not rush you here at all.
After entering this welcoming restaurant, I was politely greeted by the server named Ryan who provided excellent customer service throughout the stay. Food was phonomenal and was beautifully presented. 10/10 definitely will be coming back!
Some of the best Japanese I've had! The food was clean tasting, not oily and very fresh! The green tea ice creme was a nice desert too!
Japanese is my favorite cuisine and these guys do it right! My miso was on point, beef teriyaki cooked just right, meat was not too dry, and just the perfect amount of everything for a lunch box. Salad greens were really crisp too; loved that it was clean 👌🏼👌🏼
Wasabi is our number one choice for sushi in the area. Not only is it affordable but the food is always delicious. We normally just take food to go but have eaten in once and that was a great experience as well!
I was only in New York because of my ex, but the one thing that was good about the relationship was he took me here. I would literally crawl across country to eat here again, because this is literally the best. I dream about this sushi, and still remember it two years later. I wish I could rate it MORE stars!! 12/10 would literally die to eat here again
We tend to over order so it was a bit pricey for lunch. Worth every penny! Sushi was perfect, delicious & served quickly!
The food is good and the prices are great. The service is a little slow but it’s okay. This place is great.
Wasabi is our go to for sushi! Consistent, great quality, and delicious. Casual and cute interior.
I visited for the first time after hearing great things from friends, and it did not disappoint. The staff were welcoming, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and relaxing. A wonderful experience overall!
My wife and I ate our first meal since moving up to Hudson here. We loved the place... the food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent.
I’ve been coming to Hudson for 6 years and this is the best dinner experience I have had. The sushi is great: fresh, creative, delicious. The staff are friendly and hard working. The atmosphere is quiet and chill. Would absolutely go again! Pro tip: the veggie gyoza tastes like pizza! The special rolls are out of this work. We got, volcano, Godzilla, red dragon.
I’ve been going to Wasabi since I started eating sushi. This place has always been welcoming and absolutely delicious! The service is great and they make you feel at home. The food is so delicious and the presentation is beautiful too. High quality sushi and tons of amazing options for everyone, the chicken katsu is a great option for those who don’t love fish.
I’m not very adventurous when it comes to sushi but my go to order here is a California roll with cream cheese and the city roll. Both are pretty simple but never disappoint! I’ve also tried the vegetable and shrimp tempura which was good but wish the shrimp was a little crispier. This time I got take out and it took about 20minutes on a Saturday night, not too bad. I’ve dined in as well and find you get your food pretty quickly.
Best sushi in the area. Great staff, and solid food to back em up. If raw fish isn't your thing there are plenty of cooked options from the kitchen. The lunch specials are a solid deal, soup and three rolls for under 15$, can't best that. If you have a pallette like mine you can easily spend two hours and a good chunk of change here. (Featured in the pic is Uni w/ quail egg). Cheers!
Only real drawback was that the dining room was closed. The food was double plus yummsville. Delish rolls and sushi 🍣 that made me wiggle and giggle with deranged delight.
Great old standby. Best Japanese/Sushi in Hudson. Vegetable Yakisoba with an Avocado Roll is our weekly take-out order.
Consistent sushi is always a good thing, and that's exactly what you will find at Wasabi. Cute atmosphere and run by owner operators intent on food service.
Delicious Japanese food set in a pleasant atmosphere. A little on the costly side, but worth the trip. Sometimes the service could be a little more attentive. And sometimes it's absolutely perfect.
Good sushis. Price reasonable. We have been going there regularly so they know what we like and anticipate our requests. Nice
Nice little spot to get any kind of sushi you can think of.
The food is average. The service is usually pleasant. With respect to atmosphere, it’s dismal and I usually want to eat and leave as quickly as possible. Also, they don’t adhere to their posted hours and close the kitchen before 10:30 on Saturdays.
After fighting with the difficult street parking situation, I finally made it for a late lunch in this small restaurant. Luckily, there was still a place left at the 5-seat sushi bar, adorned with one of those plastic photo place mats, paper napkins and waribashi. Since the one server was a bit busy, the manager quickly left the prep area, and politely greeted me. The bound menu he presented me had a few too many photos for my liking, but I was glad to see a large selection of both nigiri and sake. I looked around the bar after I ordered a few nigiri and a couple of maki. The decor was a bit different - with about a hundred empty sake bottles suspended from the ceiling, and a strange waterfall/water feature splashing over in the corner. As I enjoyed my pleasant soup, I noticed something I almost never see: the sushi display cooler (photo) did not have the usual plastic tubs containing pre-mixed fillings. This welcome revelation was reinforced as I watched my sushi chef prepare one of my maki, by chopping up the salmon and mixing in the other ingredients right in front of me. Unfortunately, this newfound interest in his work now saddened me when I watched him open a bought-in, sealed, chilled box of pre-cut tamago slices. I can see that the actual kitchen is really small, but it is still big enough to cook eggs. But these insights are why I always sit at the sushi bar. The main arrived, simply, competently plated (photo). The rice was well seasoned. Both maki were pleasant, a slightly spicy salmon with small chunks of fish still visible; a bit more so than the eel cucumber maki. The hirame was excellent, the best of the nigiri. The tamago was the least of the presentation, but it was not bad, although bought-in, as I previously mentioned. Also, unfortunately, as occurs too often in the region's sushi bars, none of the nigiri had the added step of placing wasabi under the fish. What is the name of this restaurant again? I was very happy with my visit, and I will return again. Most of the minor problems could just be personal preference. But with a few fixes, it would be worth the 50 minute travel on a regular basis. 2019 07 18. S27.
Would have been much better if we could have sat inside. Drove 20 minutes and expected in door dining because it said dine in when we looked it up but got there and it was only take out. Food was good but had to eat in out car so that was disappointing
My special roll was lame and dry, really no flavor and cost me 15bucks. Pass on the Godzilla roll if you go. The veggie dumplings we're good though
I've been here many many times, but tonight the service was terrible. Items ordered were forgotten, no one was offered a refill on their beverage, and the server was indifferent. The food was good as usual.
Went here with an old college chum I've know for 30+ years. My first time to Hudson. I just ended up getting about three rolls of various flavors. Not bad for a quick bite to eat. My only regret is not ordering another beer and they closed down at 2:30PM and kind of chase you out. Also got kind of a weird aroma when walking past the kitchen to the bathroom. Other than that, it's fine for a bite.
I was really looking forward to the Calamari Tempura appetizer. Very sad to find out that it was frozen calamari rings!!! No tentacles so definitely not genuine calamari. Rubbery and just awful. The seafood soup and rolls were very good.
Good food and good portions. Miso soup and salad are included with your meal. Friendly service. Nice place but after the pandemic they are not open for dinning in. It's take out only which is good, but I do miss dinning in.
This must have been the smallest maki rolls I have ever seen. Was barely thicker than the middle finger of my six year old daughter. Maybe tops 15 ricegrains were hugging eachother inside of the seaweed paper. Also teriyaki the same as aged tofu. Deep fried everything. Luckily not the tiny maki rolls. 😅
The online menu appears to have been crafted by a 4 year old toddler.
Very standard fare, not what I would call a great sushi place, just eh...
Very disappointed that the quality that was previously excellent has really gone downhill. Ordered hot sake. Sent it back as it was unpalatable. Godzilla and Pink Lady rolls half the size they were 2 years ago. Same or higher price. Service nonexistent. Had to go to sushi bar to place another order though there were only 2 other tables occupied. Never again. 60 bucks and my friend and I left hungry. Neither of us are big eaters..
Used to be one of our favorite places. Used to go here about once a month. Lately, our experiences have just been getting worse. Poor service, rude waitresses and the foods just not too good anymore. Sent back my chicken teriyaki tonight and the waitress insisted it was fine. As a fellow waitress, if someone says they don't like their meal, don't fight it, just kindly take it back. Not sure if we'll be going here again any time soon.
The second dinner in two months, and the disaapointment continues. Sushi badly composed, Sashimi well cut but barely cool, Futomaki I had to explain, then poorly constructed and unartfully presented. And the Tempura. Shrimp with wet panko clinging, served in an ugly American dessert dish, with nothing but soy, no Daikon radish dipping sauce to be found. Really depressing. Sushi, Sashimi, since the 8th Century is a spiritual, aesthetic art form. Here the emphasis is the Americanized...the "Wacky" roll, mayonaise, cream cheese...really, really sad.
We have ordered from this place multiple times over the past year. Each time the quality and service gets worse. Today we ordered the sashimi platter, as we were eating realized the sushi was fishier than usual. And then there was a parasite worm that wiggled its way out of our salmon. We called Wasabi to let them know, and the person on the phone said there was no way this could be true and that it might have happened because of heat in our house? Honestly, never again. Wish we could put videos up, we have a clip if it swimming.
HONESTLY not worth the money, no flavor, not fresh, super small portions, spend over 50$ NOT including the tip and left completely unsatisfied, and STILL hungry🥴
I found a hair in my food and was treated like I was lying when my hair wasn't even the color of the hair in my food. Then the waitress asked if I wanted the food boxed up telling me it was still good. I was dumbfounded and said no I am fine I do not want it anymore. Then the owner came over with an attitude implying that I planted the hair in the food because it couldnt have possibly got there, they are wearing hair nets, and none of the staff have that color hair. Then they tried to tell me they were charging me for the food that I barely even ate and gave me an attitude until I left. No apology or anything. Bad service never comming back.
What kind of sushi restaurant wouldn’t take off the price from the tap when a customer complains about their shrimp isn’t fresh and doesn’t want to eat it? They insisted they got the shrimp on the day and it’s fresh. But there could be a bad one among many and it tasted sickening. Good thing they don’t have any competition in the hood. Food is too sweet and the customer service was just horrible. The owner served the miso soup with his thumb in it and refused to replace it. To be fair the waitress was kind but the owner doesn’t seem to understand hygiene and what customer service in retail means.
Bro deadass got mad that we payed for our meal but couldn’t tip since it was more then we expected. Got up to both our faces DEMANDING for a tip because he served us sake and wine even tho we ordered them ourselves and paid for them as well. He also got mad at the mess our daughter made a little mess that we tried to clean up before leaving. Not going to return here with the attitude they give
My friend and I went in this afternoon with my service animal, she had her vest and badge on and of course was well behaved. We were promptly greeted by a man who worked there, saying "no dogs!" I explained she is a service animal, and I was happy to present her credentials.(not a legal obligation. I offered this.) He claimed there was a "customer complaint" and I did choose to let him know he'd walked straight up to us from behind the bar area, and had not spoken to a single customer. He then changed his story to a customer complaint from "before we got there".... okay....would like to point out - I've never been to this establishment with my dog, she could not have had a customer complaint, and she has only EVER had compliments on her behavior in public.... I let him know refusing service based on a dog who performs a service for a disability is illegal, and as we left he tried to placate us and asked if we wanted to get takeout...
