My husband and I dined here on 2/01 to celebrate my birthday. We had a wonderful experience! All staff we interacted with were knowledgeable and friendly. My husband and I shared the bread and charred shrimp as an appetizer. I chose to do the Devour menu and got the wedge salad and snapper. My husband got the lamb rack. Then for dessert we got the basque cheesecake and oatmeal caramel pie. Everything was delicious and we felt it was worth the price!
5/5 Stars – An Absolute Gem in Indianapolis! We recently celebrated a special anniversary at Provision, and it exceeded every expectation—truly one of the best dining experiences we've had in Indy! From the moment we stepped into the elegant, industrial-chic space on the second floor of the Ironworks Hotel, the ambiance felt sophisticated yet welcoming. The lighting was perfect, the vibe upscale without being stuffy, and our table overlooked the beautiful surroundings—ideal for a romantic evening. The staff was outstanding—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. Our server made fantastic recommendations and even noted our occasion, which led to a lovely complimentary touch that made the night even more memorable. The menu is creative and beautifully executed with fresh, high-quality ingredients (love the focus on local sourcing!). Portions felt just right for the quality, and everything was bursting with flavor without being overly heavy. If you're looking for a special occasion spot, a date night upgrade, or just an exceptional New American meal, Provision is a must-visit. Highly, highly recommended— we'll be back soon! 🥂
Absolutely LOVED this restaurant!!!! It was recommended by a good friend, so we decided to go to it last night for date night! Everything we got was INCREDIBLE! Our server, Adam, was so so attentive and knew the menu super well! The charred shrimp was my FAVORITE! I can’t say enough good things about this place — you gotta go!!!!
I was very impressed with our entire experience. The food was delicious & loaded with unique flavors that will delight your palate! The Service was great & the atmosphere is beautiful.
We tried the crab cake and the moshrooms w puff pastry and is really good! We love this place
Katie, our bartender, was wonderful! She made delicious cocktails and made good conversation, but still giving us enough space for a date night. We sat at the bar and had a great experience, as always!
Had a reservation for four and we all did the chefs tasting menu with the wine accompaniment. All the courses were delicious and seemed to get better and better as the dinner went on. Service was extremely friendly and accommodating. The only thing is I wish they would tell us more about the wine pairings and why they were chosen for each course. Overall a fantastic experience.
My wife & I found out about Provision through Devour last year (& we loved it) so I thought it would be the perfect place for her birthday get-together this year. I invited a small group of family & friends, that had never been there before, to join us. Since Devour is going on right now I figured that'd be the perfect time for them to see what Provision had to offer. The restaurant prepared a place for our group of 9, in a private section, by the stairs, so as each of our guests showed up.. we'd see them right as they entered.. a perfect way to surprise my wife with each guest, as they entered, because I hadn't told her that anyone was joining us. It was the perfect atmosphere for a perfect dinner. The restaurant is very elegant, our waitress was very friendly & attentive, & the food was everything that we remembered it to be. Everyone enjoyed their dinners & I'm sure will be back for more, on their own, now that they've tried it.. but we certainly won't turn down any invitations if they ask us to join them! We started her birthday at the Pacer game (PACERS WIN!!!) & ended our evening here so I'm pretty sure this was a birthday she won't soon forget. 🖤
My friends and I wanted to go all out and try a Chef's Tasting Menu, and this was the place we landed. So this was a different and unique restaurant experience I had never had before, and I am so thrilled with how it went here at Provision! Excellent food, wonderful services, premium wine pairings, and overall a glorious time. I was completely stuffed and satisfied by the end of the tasting menu- after the cheese, pasta, scallop, steak, lamb, dessert, and all the wines. Thank you Provision, for taking care of me and my crew last Thursday night!
Update April 19, 2014. Just finished an AMAZING dinner here. Wow. Food, service, atmosphere - everything top notch. Highest recommendations! Go here for a wonderful experience. I can only speak for grabbing a cocktail and appetizers at the bar, but we had a great experience. From the friendly hostess to the helpful and engaging bartender, we found the staff to be excellent. Great recommendations from our bartender. The appetizers we ordered were delicious. Great spot to meet up for conversation before dinner. The dining room looked great as did the dinner options on the menu. Looks like a good choice for a special night out.
Had two excellent meals during my recent visit to Indianapolis. I have a yearly medical appointment and always eat here and stay at the Ironworks Hotel. Had a steak the first night and a pork chop the second night. Both meals were well prepared and extremely tasty. The restaurant never disappoints.
Seriously such a fantastic restaurant for my wife’s birthday dinner. We came during devour Indy (recommend checking them out some time for this promotion) but we did the Chefs Tasting Menu. What an incredible 6 course experience. The portions are small, but very flavorful. It was worth the money in our opinion. The bisque was amazing and rich. Hamachi plates were beautiful works of art- fried capers and rice emulsion were just some tasty and unique flavors! Lobster risotto had more filling power, well made made and tastes great. Quail was good. Now, the Japanese Wagyu - comes with assortments of different salts to taste. Incredible. So tender, just amazing taste. And then we finished with the best beignets I’ve ever had. Such an amazing finish to an incredible meal. Update: did the tasting menu again, and it was different and just as incredible as the last time we did it. Cannot get enough of this experience that Provision offers
My husband and I visited for our anniversary and it was a wonderful experience! I love the atmosphere and decor and the service was great! As far as the food goes, I was very pleased with everything. Since this was our first visit, we decided to share everything. I really liked their Old Fashioned, very smooth, sweet, and warm and spicy because of the cinnamon stick. The charred shrimp with avocado and curry was delicious, the shrimp are huge and have that perfect char flavor. We also tried the oyster chowder which was vey good, too, creamy and thick, and filling! For the entree, we ordered the pork chop, and at 14 oz it was plenty for us to share. It was the only part of our meal that we felt fell a little flat. It was juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked, but compared to everything else we sampled, it just didn't have that "wow" factor. However, the side we ordered to go with it was our favorite! The potato-bacon terrine was so delicious, I would probably be tempted to just order that in place of a traditional entree the next time we go! The potatoes were perfectly cooked and it had that wonderful smoky flavor from the bacon. The red pepper sauce on top had just the perfect little hint of spice. The server said it's their most popular, and I can understand why! For dessert, we had the Indiana Sugar Pie with Turkish coffee ice cream. It was VERY sweet, so if you're not a big "sweets" person, I'd recommend something else. I personally liked it, I think paired with the coffee ice cream it was excellent.
Professional service and wonderful atmosphere. Greatest location ever if your staying in the Ironworks Hotel since we had cold rainy weather. Portions sizes are standard, presentation A+, temp of the food and timing of courses was spot on by our server. Very please with everything. Wine listing is large and plentiful. Get reservations or expect to wait a while. Will be back again
Great experience! From the host to the end of the meal, Provision provided an exceptional experience. All the staff was very friendly and accommodating and seemed to be genuinely interested in being of service. When you're paying as much as you are, that should absolutely be the case, but a lot of times, it is not. Fortunately Provision staff members are all knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions. The food... Tried the 6 course Chef's Menu to try a little of everything. It was a great decision! Every plate was beautifully presented and the tastes were delicious. There was nothing "basic" about any of it, but it still ended up that everything was familiar. Everything was super fresh and I couldn't have been happier with the meal and experience.
One day I’ll meet the creative team behind Cunningham group restaurants. Until then I’ll just enjoy the awesome experiences they provide you with each place. I was invited to try provision for a devour girls date, and was pleasantly surprised and impressed with how awesome this location was. Located in the upper level of the iron works restraaunt you will find provision. We were quickly greeted and lead to our table. There is a generous wine list, beers and fun cocktails to choose from. I ended up getting the botanical bubbles which is essentially a French 75, it was very delicious! The devour menu was a great choice because you got a bit of everything. Lamb meatballs to start which had this tasty glaze on top, the main course was tasty tortellinis with goat cheese. Dessert was a chocolate tart that came on top of potatoes chips. The salty contrast from the sweet chocolate was a delightful contrast. Cunningham group does it again! Can’t wait to go back
Stayed at Ironworks on our way from Cincinnati to Lake Michigan for vacation. Had dinner at Provision with my 15 yo son who wants to be a chef. We both did the Chef's Tasting Menu (mine with wine). We both really enjoyed the experience, and it was all delicious! The service and atmosphere were excellent.
My husband and I went here for an early anniversary celebration before heading on our anniversary trip. Our food was absolutely delicious all the way around. The mushrooms were recommended, but weren’t all that great. However, every other dish completely made up for it. Finally, on top of the food being delicious, our waitress was superb. She provided some of the best customer service I’ve ever received anywhere. She was friendly and attentive without being annoying! I definitely recommend and we will return soon!
We went to provision for our anniversary dinner. It was a great experience.. our waiter was very courteous, friendly and provided good service as well. the food was excellent, especially the crab hashbrown and lobster risotto. The ambience was comfortable and cozy.
Took my wife for her birthday and the food was awesome. This was our first time and I was amazingly pleased. Our waiter who was Michael was above and beyond what you normally get. I recommend that if you have not been here and are in the Indianapolis area please visit.
We went here for Easter brunch and their menu was tight. The steak was tender and well cooked, and the pork chop was smoky and juicy. Service was top notch as well. The staff are very friendly and really dote on you. I wish we could have eaten more meals here during our two day stay in Indianapolis, but we will definitely be coming back if we’re in town.
This review is long overdue. I've been here a few times, and never had a bad meal or service. If you're looking for great local food, and service to match. I highly recommend Provision.
Enjoyed the tasting menu. Delicious, flavorful and fun. Elk surprisingly moist and tender. Everything cooked to perfection. Wife had the wine pairing and loved it. A must return destination.
We sat on the deck on a beautiful day. Lovely! We walked in last minute and realized we were probably underdressed but it seemed like no big deal. I had the pork chop with blackberry reduction which was wonderful, but the real star of the show was the burger (!), with pimento cheese, "tater totters," and a homemade English muffin as bun. Folks, even if you don't go to a fine dining establishment looking for a burger, this one is amazing and worth a smirk from your fellow guests. I was jealous and had more than a few swipes of that pimento cheese.
Valentine's dinner! First course of starters included Tuna Tartare and the assorted bread basket. Main course: Steaks were PERFECTLY flavored and cooked. In addition to the steaks we tried the ham wrapped asparagus and potato bacon terrine. Dessert was a sugar cream pie with ice cream. It was heavenly!
Dinner was well spent at this nice restaurant. The ambiance was pretty chill. The server was so nice & the food was delicious. I’m definitely coming back for the Chef’s experience. Overall, would recommend 10/10.
We were avid Provision fans before our wedding so we were thrilled when we found out we could work with them for our rehearsal dinner. It was held in one of the Ironworks conference rooms and was an absolute delight of an evening. Tabatha and her team were so communicative and helpful throughout the entire process. Their food and drinks were incredible as usual, even one of our guests said “This was the best ‘wedding’ meal I have ever had”. To this day, their food is some of the best I’ve ever had personally. The service was 1000/10 and we are forever grateful to the amazing work done by their team. Tabatha and Team, thank you again!
A great experience on an impromptu date night! Received a gift card for the Cunningham Restaurant Group and decided to try Provision after hearing some positive feedback from colleagues. My partner and I enjoyed the Crabcake and beet salad as appetizers (both excellent sizes for sharing), before having the perfectly prepared Short Rib and Sea Bass entrees. Our server was lovely and on top of everything- thanks, Danielle!
I recently had dinner at Provisions on 86th Street with a few coworkers, and the entire evening was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we walked in, the warm and modern atmosphere set the tone for a memorable experience. Our server, Lori, was outstanding. She struck the perfect balance between attentive and personable—always available when we needed her but never intrusive. She anticipated what we needed before we even asked, making us feel truly taken care of. The food was just as impressive as the service. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, and it was clear that a lot of thought went into both the ingredients and preparation. Combined with the relaxed yet upscale environment, it made for one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Indianapolis. Whether you’re looking for a great spot to entertain coworkers, celebrate with friends, or simply enjoy an incredible meal, Provisions is a must-visit. We left already talking about when we’ll be back!
This place just does NOT miss. A fairly regular stop for us, but I'm tardy in giving credit that the CRG folks deserve. The food, service, and atmosphere all consistently deliver. Give them a shot next time you're in the area!
🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀 From start to finish, Provision at Ironworks is an absolute gem. The ambiance is elegant yet warm, with impeccable service that balances attentiveness without being overbearing. Every dish feels thoughtfully composed — imaginative flavors, beautifully plated, and using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Whether you’re there for a special evening or just treating yourself, it delivers on all fronts. I’ll be bringing my Developers there next. —CB
We went there for our anniversary and the food was excellent! She got the sea bass and I got a filet and everything was cooked & prepared to perfection. The service from our waiter and the rest of the employees was excellent as well.
Finally made it here and was excited to try it out. The smoked salmon amuse-bouche and tuna tartare were delicious but it quickly went downhill from there. The wagyu dumplings were extremely chewy and the pork chop was way overcooked (I ordered chef-recommended medium temp) and very dry by the time I finished it. Overall the flavors and service were good but two huge misses on the meal made me question the kitchen. Friday night service should be bringing their A-Game but that wasn't happening. Bonus: There was also a gnat in my drink.
Beautiful restaurant! We went for a friend’s birthday dinner and the food did not disappoint! Service was very good, but not stellar (as in..not a lot of personality displayed by the wait staff and they didn’t seem genuinely happy) We ordered a variety of food and some of the highlights were the crab cake, the pork chop, rack of lamb, snapper, Brussels sprouts, fresh oysters & tuna tartare. Some of the cocktails my friends ordered were superb! I’d definitely go back and try more!
Came here with my wife for my birthday. Right off the bat was greeted by the staff. Everyone was very cheerful and respectful. The atmosphere and decor was wonderful. The food was very good, however I wouldn't order the steak again, knowing that it's topped with veggies and a sauce that made it taste very sweet. Granted it was cooked to a perfect medium rare, but the toppings caused the steak to lose its texture and beefy flavor. The snapper was delicious, as were the brussel sprouts and potatoes.
It was good, yet what I chose from the menu seemed to me nothing extraordinary. The drink was good, and the salad was tasty but in very small portions considering the price. I didn't come back to the restaurant exactly because of this. The service was ok.
The appetizers, main course, side, desserts, and drink my wife and I ordered were excellent. The combinations of flavors for each dish were interesting and impressive. The chef's "first bite" was a very nice touch. Tater totters were a bit salty for our taste but still good. The wait staff was exceptional - anticipated everything we wanted before we asked and timed the courses perfectly. Our water glasses never made it below half full. Absolutely plan on returning.
I went to Provision and I could go again, it has an interesting proposal of food. We started with a mezcal drink "by the invitation" although I love mezcal it wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad either. We ordered an ancient salad, salty and sweet, very good by the way! And I ordered a main dish of scallop with gnocci which was ok, the gnocci had no flavor but the scallop did (I wouldn't order it again) we also ordered a burger which was very delicious! 100% recommended, this restaurant is a little bit pricey for some of their main dishes (I recommend you check portion sizes) and the service was very nice, the waitress served us 10/10.
The filet was ok, but I expected the quality that I would have gotten in a nice steak house based on the price. Our party was seated at a table that was too small for our reservation, but we made the most of it. The waitress poked me in the back with a steak knife while setting the table, but I don't think it broke the skin. Good times.
Went here for a birthday celebration for a family member and had a lovely time. We ordered the chicken diner (substituted the brussel sprouts for broccolini) with a glass of Moscato Blanc, which was perfectly paired and the pork chop with a port. Our server, Michael, was very nice and took care of us well. The menu is a little pricey but overall a nice place.
We went to Provision for dinner after our movie. We did the tasting menu. The dishes were all good for the most part. The duck was really tough & I got a large piece of gristle in my steak. They also don't have any non-alcoholic cocktails on their menu, which is always a disappointment. But the atmosphere was nice & our waiter was very nice. They were kind enough to substitute a shrimp 1st course for my husband who is allergic to oysters. They did attempt a mocktail for me but it was still primarily pineapple juice.
I went to the restaurant by myself because I had a $50 gift card. I ended up paying $95 in total (including the tip). So, it’s a very expensive restaurant. The food tasted great, I had a lamb rack. But the portion is just too small, hence 3 stars. And am not a big eater either. For a meal that cost $68, I would expect a bigger portion and maybe some leftover. But nope, I finished it and didn’t feel full. I have been to fine dining before. Never had this issue. The staff was nice and accommodating and the atmosphere is relaxing especially the patio. The fire is amazing.
Ok food but $$$. Their Charred Romaine was amazing. I also had their Seabass, which was okay except I kept biting into something hard (bone I assume). Not a huge issue, but for a $50+ meal it’s unfortunate. My sister ordered their steak & sadly it didn't live up to the price. Friendly & helpful staff + nice interior! Was it worth a try? Yes! Would I go back? Unsure.
Food and atmosphere was delightful. We loved the oysters and lamb. However we waited over an hour to be seated, with a reservation which was frustrating because we already had a late reservation, 8:45pm and then didn’t get seated until 10pm. We totally understand that people sit longer than expected but it seems like we were forgotten as when we finally walked to our table, there were several tables open (without covid signs). Our server was really sweet and kind and we ordered a couple of drinks out in the lobby while we waited which were great! I finally found a place in Indy that serves egg white in cocktails. Will totally come here again but will know better and check into the host stand more often and to sit in a more prominent spot in the waiting area.
Went here for my wife's birthday and it was just ok. The hotel and restaurant is beautiful. The atmosphere is very nice and what you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. The service was also excellent. As for the food it was just alright and we felt nowhere near worth the price. Cunningham restaurants are some of our favorite with Stone Creek standing out from all the rest. This place is nowhere near it in quality, value and overall experience.
This was our first experience at Provision. We enjoyed the nice atmosphere and overall experience. The food was subpar for the price. My partner got the special which was a snapper with pork belly and I got the chicken dinner. Both entrees had a very bland taste with little flavor. The sides were fairly small for shareable portions but did have much more flavor than the entrees. The drinks were strong and generously poured. The donut dessert was definitely a good choice and brought a lot of sweet and rich flavors. We were impressed with the presentation of the meals but probably would not return.
I was very disappointed in my meal this time. I have eaten here 3 or 4 times and it was always the best. This time I ordered the scallops and I asked for no duck no pickled raisins. It came with both. I sent it back and it took forever and then the scallops were over cooked and terrible. what a shame. I would think when a dish is done wrong by the kitchen they would immediately replace it as fast as the could. I waited a long time and then the scallops were only 3 and they were hard and rubbery.
It was a beautiful atmosphere, our waiter was nice, this was my first time. However the food is a no for me! Particularly because of two reasons. 1) the portion size 2) as a group none of us had a wow I’m coming back vibe. We spent over $2k and all of us were still hungry, no one left with a box. I have never left a fine dining restaurant still hungry with no buzz. I’m a foodie I look forward to the experience and indulging in great food. Although the taste was ok, the portion size was very small for the price. We had 3 drinks a piece and a few of us questioned did we have juice or cocktails. I’ve never seen such a thin piece of salmon. I looked at other’s photos and the portion size doesn’t seem consistent. We had a couple apps, the crab cake was ok. I also didn’t know animals were allowed inside, I didn’t see that on the website. I love potatoes, however the small dollop you see in the picture is all that was served. I just knew once I lifted the bone there would be more,NOPE! Sadly the only remark I had was, it was beautifully decorated!!
My first experience at Provision was definitely sub par. The food had unique taste, but it was soured by the service we experienced. Our waiter got our orders messed up, sent us the wrong food, and sent us duplicates of dishes. To make it worse, we found plastic from a piping bag in our food, and even the manager voluntarily apologized to us. I hope this is not the usual experience, and I will be open to trying Provision again. Perhaps it was a busy/stressful night for staff, but that left my group and myself on the unlucky end.
Overpriced and bland. They purchase low quality meat. Not a traditional steakhouse with hand cut or chef selected steaks. Risotto was not cooked right and Brussel sprouts were inconsistent.
