We went here this evening with a group of 12, They accommodated us no problem service was great food was great prices are reasonable! I recommend.
They were very nice I asked for extra lechuga on my burrito and they loaded it up the burrito was about the size of a baseball bat and the hot sauce was delicious and I asked for a lot of it and they gave me enough for the next couple nights even it was really an enjoyable experience coming out of the way place I think if you just went there and never been there you probably might not like it but if you tell them exactly what you want and tell me you're willing to pay for it I think you get exactly what you want and you're very happy local place I'm sure they know most of the people they cook for I'll go back God bless you all..
Love everything about this place. Great service. But super expensive 😔
My absolute favorite Mexican restaurant! 🌮✨ Frijoles never disappoints—everything here is so fresh and authentically delicious. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the friendliest, happiest servers who truly go above and beyond to make your experience amazing. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and my whole family LOVES coming here. I cannot rave enough about the incredible flavors and quality of the food—it’s like a taste of Mexico in every bite! If you’re looking for outstanding service and the best Mexican food around, Frijoles is the place to be! 💯🔥🌶️
Good food. Our server was great. Good experience.
I had a shrimp taco, and a carne asada wet burrito with the green sauce ( salsa verde). Both of them were fresh and seasoned to perfection. The salsa and chips were fresh and tasty. The waitress was also very welcoming, and appeared to like her job. It was my first time here, and I will be back!!
Some of the best chilaquiles I've had. Get them with the chipotle sauce, and ask for extra sauces (they bring them out in smaller plastic bottles) for your breakfast - it's so good! I can't speak for their other food, but this is my go-to whenever I'm here (like 2x a month lol) Also, they have delicious cafe de olla.
I used to come here more often than now. I can tell they've upgraded a lot. The last few times I've had to remind my server my drink a couple times before I got the entire order.
THIS PLACE HAS REALLY GOOD BREAKFAST BURRITOS. TRUST ME I BEEN HERE 2 TIMES ALREADY AND I AM GOING TO KEEP COMING BACK.
This restaurant was a surprise. I have never been there. I was just doing a Google search, and this restaurant was nearby. Me and my mom were hungry. The dining area is not very large, but the atmosphere and service were quite great. I will be coming back when in the area. I am from Palm Springs, CA....
Best food!! This food was amazing. I went there on the 18th of December yesterday right after I got off the plane. It was amazing food and I ordered a regular size burrito for very cheap and it came out giant. Definitely would go there every time I get off a plane here, and definitely recommend it!!
Super delicious - great vibe - full bar - lots of great tequila. What more could you ask for?!
Food was average. This is the only Mexican restaurant I know which doesn’t serve complimentary chips and salsa :(
I went in looking for a certain soup to Aid a cold I was dealing with. I had Caldo de albóndigas. Very good they have different sizes. I had the larger size so I took some back to my room. I definitely think it helped with my cold. There freshwater of Jamaica was delicious as well. The service was great the young lady kept checking on me and refilling my water. Very good experience highly recommended.
This a great little hole in the wall spot, let's be honest most of the best ones are. The food was amazing, service was a bit slow because they were busy. But that's expected, server was super nice. Horchata was delicious, enchiladas were delicious, the mango Michelada was also very very tasty. I would definitely eat here again.
This place is great! Great food and great service. Do yourself a favor and get the Birria Tacos, you won't regret it.
Fast, great food and drinks at reasonable prices. Full bar and real diabla sauce. I had 2 house margaritas and the shrimp al la diabla. Happy.
Found this place on google close to airport. Was really concerned when we arrived. Very small hole in the wall place. Every table in the place dirty. (Although they just had a party in the patio area that left at 6) we arrived shortly before. They cleaned a table for us. The service was exceptional and the food was fantastic. We were really surprised and pleased with the service and food.
Absolutely without a doubt the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, the environment feels family owned and you can see them cooking it up from your table. Would come here again 10/10
Food was delicious and tasted just like family cooking! Kind energy from staff and the photographer Vlad was super nice to chat to. Definitely going back for the great food, good vibes, and lovely atomosphere!
Had a great meal here. Close to the airport for a quick preflight meal. It has very nice seating inside and out. Outer seating is still covered and enclosed to avoid the sun, wind, cold, etc. Food was great and a lot of contractors eating there, you know they always frequent restaurants with great food, service, and convenience.
Frijoles is very consistent with quality and service. There's a lot of veggie options but I always end up getting the mole chilaquiles and café de olla because they're perfect. As for COVID, staff was all wearing masks and they have a permanent patio that's cute with TVs. Highly recommend for anyone looking for solid Mexican food. Updated April 2022: Went for dinner and had the mole enchiladas which were also perfect! My guy had the birria tacos and loved them.
Super good beef chimichanga. I ate here with some colleagues from work and it did not disappoint. I would recommend to a friend. I plan to return if I'm ever back in town. I have to apologize, I was so excited to eat my chimichanga I forgot to take a picture. Service was friendly, food came out fast and it was an all around good experience.
A really cute and delicious place! It’s easy to miss but so worth seeking out. It has bright and colorful Mexican inspired decor, and has a welcoming vibe. I ordered the chipotle shrimp plate (the Tuesday special) with rice, salad, and corn tortillas. The sauce was amazing and a fair amount of food for the price. The one downside is that the parking is very cramped and small. You might have to find some street parking nearby.
Best service ever. Food was great. Must come if your near LAX don’t miss out.
We had chips and salsa, and 2 birria wet burritos with consume. Happy hour is until 7pm Monday to Friday. Great service with a family feel. Will be coming back ❤️😍
I heard the food was tasty here so I gave it a try and I m glad i did! The carnitas wet burrito (green sauce) was excellent! Delicious and will most definitely return! I work by the airport and I'm always being asked for where to get good food near by. Will be recommending this place for sure!
I love this place. My BF and I come here when we can on our weekends off. The food is amazing, the service is excellent and so friendly. Really fun place to go eat. I love the inside as well. The decorations inside are comforting and beautiful. I can't speak highly enough about this place. We were back today 4/6/25 and as you can see.... my birria tacos.... are almost gone. So good. Never disappoints. Excellent service and friendly staff. Micheladas are so good too.
Wife never fails to pick out fantastic Mexican restaurants. Bless her. This place did not disappoint. Birria fanatic so it’s a must have when it’s in the menu. These were fantastic. The meat was juice the consume was flavorful and everything blended just right. Whatever my wife ordered was good too I didn’t even pay attention was too distracted by my dish. The churro and sauces were perfect finish. Will be back. Thank you 🙏
Everything I wanted in my first ever California Mexican food. Margaritas on point, not sweet and made perfect. The patio has music and a small breeze that makes the atmosphere so comfy. Birria tacos are spot on and make sure to grab a tamale!! Service super welcoming and inviting! Cannot say enough about the enchilada red sauce- very smooth and perfect amount of spice. Need a dinner idea?? Don’t sleep on this one!
I ordered a carnitas wet burrito. It was delicious. I will return for other plates and give you updates, but I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a good authentic Mexican meal. Staff is very friendly and accommodating too.
This is my new favorite place this year! We always it in the "Jesus" room. The staff has become like family and greets us hugs and they know our order. If we want to try something different, we have to tell them coming in the door. It feels like coming home. I haven't had anything I don't like up to this point. My favorite is the breaded fish tacos. The beans and rice are 🔥
Located close to LAX welcoming everyone across the world, a cozy spot to visit for anyone craving a piece of authentic Mexican cuisine. There is everything you need - easy parking, a big choice of food, desserts and drinks, vegan menu available too! I came here on Sunday morning during the dodgers games and I was able to see the game too! As for the food now - I ordered carne asada with cheese enchilada which came to be awesome. Best enchiladas I have ever tried. Melting in my mouth, satiating my craving desire for a lot of cheese. The atmosphere is like at your grandma’s house. The longer you stay, the more you appreciate it. Icons, crosses are in one of the rooms of the restaurant serving as a design feature. Low ceilings which makes it even cozier. Beautiful spot, definitely recommend
Sharing and expressing my delight with the exceptional dining experience I had recently at Frijoles Mexican Restaurant. The food was fantastic, and the ambiance was perfect. I had the Frijoles plate I was particularly impressed by the attentiveness , even during the busy lunch rush. My waitress, Carmen, was outstanding. From the moment I walked in until I left, she was energetic and always smiling, assisting both customers and her team. I highly recommend Frijoles Mexican Restaurant.
We stopped at Frijoles Mexican Restaurant on our way out of town, and it was the perfect final meal before heading home. We had the birria tacos, bistec plate, a couple of beers, and a mango margarita — everything was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot. The service was friendly and attentive, and the location is super convenient, especially being close to the airport. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for great Mexican food and a relaxed atmosphere before a flight or just in general!
One of the privileges of SoCal is the amazing Mexican food options. After 5 years of conducting many food trials, Frijoles continues to take the #1 spot for FAJITAS. Compare to the others, I am not sure why is it so yummy?! It’s fresh ambrosia! If near El Segundo, you won’t regret making this your food stop.
This is a great little spot we found while traveling to LAX. It reminds of some of the local roadside spots you find driving through Baja. The food was delicious, the prices reasonable, and the portions well worth the price. We are family style so we shared the fish taco plate, machaca and queso birria tacos. It was a wonderful dining experience and we are looking forward to our next trip to L. A and visiting Frijoles.
Came to Frijoles during a layover and we instantly felt like home. I live in Indiana and don’t get to savor GOOD Mexican food, and this was just the place. My friend and I had the aguachiles and birria tacos. SO FREAKING GOOD. It’s a family owned business and can’t wait for others to enjoy this place. Thank you, Gilbert!!!!
This was a good restaurant! Good service and all just a little pricy for me. A bean and cheese burrito was almost $20.
This place was close to work, hole in the wall looking but food and service was on point. The michi's were ok... But the food was awesome.! I got thw al pastor quesadillas, they were gooey n oil like they are supposed to be! The habinero hot sauce was icing on the cake. It brought the heat that was missing and definitely rounded out the flavors for me... Definitely would be back with additional co-workers.
2018-07-08 Place is easy to find via G Maps. Parking was free and easy. A little cheesy looking outside and inside, but its ok. You come in un an air-conditioned room with some tables. There are also some tables in the patio. The patio was interesting. It is surrounded by plants to separate the busy traffic outside. The ceiling has some kind of covering decorated with sombreros.. Lots of food choices. Food is delicious, but i am pretty sure you had better. Prices are great. Service is great! See a sample of their menu in the photos. If this helped you in any way, please give a thumbs up! Have fun!
Neighborhood Mexican eatery with patio seating as well as indoor seating. Takeout is available as well. They have daily specials and on Sundays, it’s cheaper torta. We got chips and salsa to start and then I ordered the wet chili verde burrito while my friend got the fajitas. The food was filling and hearty. My burrito came with rice and beans inside, while the fajitas had the rice and beans on the side along with your choice of flour or corn tortillas. We both had leftovers for the following day. There wasn’t a ton of meat in the burrito but a generous amount of salsa.
Came in on a Saturday around 1pm. They were quite busy. They have parking in the back of the establishment. I tried the Wet Cachondo Burrito 🌯 and had their cucumber water. The burrito had fish and shrimp inside. The burrito was huuuugeeee and fulfilling, and service was attentive. the home made FLAN 🍮 is to die for ‼️‼️‼️Definitely will come back to try other items. Very welcoming place.
Food and atmosphere was nice! Need more workers! Could have made more money from us if offered things like chip and salsa etc….. But overall a great quiet place to eat!
The food was good. I got birria tacos, was good but the juice could use a little more flavor. My grandson got a new York torta that was really good. My daughter got 2 tacos that was good. You pay 2.50 for chips and salsa (I think it should be complimentary). The soda is by can or bottle (they should work towards the fountain). It is a little pricey. The waitress was good. I would go back.
Ordered a burrito with sauce and cheese on top. Excellent customer service and really friendly staff. Tiny interior but lots of seating outside. Very decorative and colorful restaurant. Decent pricing. One issue is that the tortilla became very soggy and mushy just after a couple of minutes. This may be due to it being very fresh? I don't know but once it was soft and mushy I didn't finish the meal. I recommend not getting the sauce poured over your burrito. Otherwise food was pretty decent. If getting a Togo order then ask for extra tortilla chips as the portion is very small.
For a restaurant called frijoles, you would expect their beans would be the star of the show... They were not. Food was OK, attention was OK for lunch rush. Portions were fair but the taste was lacking in all 4 dishes we ordered. Horchata was also OK. We really liked the atmosphere and decor. Parking was small but got there just in time.
Portions were large. Food quality was pretty good, but way overpriced. This is not an upscale sit down place. $20 dollars for a veggie burrito is too much. Service was too slow and each of our 3 dishes came at very different times from each other. The one that took the longest was out kids meal (quesadilla and fries). The kids meal is the simplest and also if they think about customer service at all they should make it first since children get impatient more quickly. Regardless the other two meals were 10 to 15 minutes apart so each of us ate alone. :-p
Consome was horrible tasted like tomato sauce, the waitress didn't listen to anything we said , seem like she didn't care , wouldn't come back with here AT ALL ..
Mixed review. Went before flight out of LAX thinking I had plenty of time. Service was terrible and slow, took 10 minutes to even get a menu. Price is very high, 19 dollars for a breakfast burrito. The place was empty on Monday morning and it took 25 min to finally get my order... The burrito was very good but not sure it was worth the trouble.
Do not go here!!!!!!! I’m sorry but the servers ignore u and the food is mid and they took for ever. They also were rude when I asked if there was rice and beans and they pointed out one grain of rice and one singular bean in my burrito. Also THEY ARE DRINKING ON THE JOB! I witnessed a guy working there chug a can of beer and throw it on the ground. Overall, I would NEVER go here again.
TERRIBLE STAY AWAY. The carne asada wasn’t grilled, it seemed boiled and was very low quality (rubbery and hard to chew). The service was incredibly slow with a nearly empty restaurant. They brought out the wrong order at first. When it finally arrived, they didn’t put cheese or pico in the burrito as advertised. This cost $18 plus $1.75 for fries inside. I asked for more water, didn’t get it. The sauces were bland/tasteless. Asked for a discount, they subtracted $2. So now I have to charge the whole transaction back with my bank. Saw some roaches too.
I don't recommend the Civiche de Pescado. It's made with bottled lime juice and ground fish. It doesn't taste good or fresh at all, and overpriced for the quantity they provide. I asked for water three times, but they didn't bring any. The resteraunt was cold. I would have expected it to be warm, since it was cold outside.
The customer service from the waitresses was very poor. They were inconsistent, dismissive, and visibly irritated when questions or concerns were raised. I was given conflicting information about chips and salsa, and when I had an issue with my order, the response was cold and unprofessional. I ordered carne en su jugo, which contained bacon, but the menu did not mention this. When I brought it up, the waitress seemed irritated and acted cold, offering no apology or explanation. I reordered a cheese enchilada, and even that came out poorly, with extremely watery sour cream. The attitude alone ruined the experience. I would not recommend this place.
The waiter neglected to serve our drinks. While the other patrons received their beverages, we were not served ours. Despite being informed that we had already consumed two plates of rice, black beans, and enchiladas, the waiter proceeded to the counter without serving our drinks. After paying for our food, the waiter informed us that he had forgotten to serve our drinks. Consequently, we departed from the establishment, having experienced a disappointing initial encounter.
I called a day in advance to ask if they could accomodate a large party of 11 at 7 pm *on the patio* specifically. They told me no problem, they would reserve it for us. When we arrived they had reserved an area in the front room. I politely informed our waitress that I requested the patio, and was it still possible? She agreed but not before insisting that the front room would be better. I told her that my reservation had specifically requested the patio because we had two people celebrating a birthday. Myself and my niece and that was where we hoped to celebrate. She told me that either the patio had not been noted in the reservation or she had accidentally over looked it. She made the patio happen while we waited... sort of, she cleared some tables then asked me if we wanted the tables pushed together. Yes, we want the tables pushed together! Why would someone call to make a birthday reservation if we were just going to be seated as the tables are pre set all apart? As we sat we got to breathe in the smell of cleaning fluid that they use to clean the tables with. We got to wait a long time for them to take our order. Amazingly, after ordering, the food arrived quicker than I expected... except that they served my 85 year old Mexican mother two burnt tacos. My 84 year old father who had ordered a Torta de Birria was seved Birria Tacos. My mother sent her order back and they did fix it. But when my father wanted his order corrected the waitress insisted my father ordered tacos even though I'm certain he didn't. We looked at your menu in advance. He planned to and I heard him order the Torta. Correct your mistake. He acquiesced because he did not want to wait and had at least been served birria. I was livid, this is not how you treat the elderly. The man who paid our bill did not get what he ordered! We never were given or asked if we wanted refills on our drinks. My niece and I were given free deserts and they sang to us for our birthday. So there was at least that. But frankly by that point it was hard to recover from so many fails at basic service expectations. We gave our waitress a more than generous tip which in my opinion she did not earn. Parking was also its own issue. As I had arrived a worker walked behind my car and stood there to make a phone call while my engine was running and while my tail lights were on keeping me from finishing my parking job. When we were leaving a worker pushed his mop bucket into the driveway blocking another patron from leaving. The woman in her SUV waited patiently until she had to honk to get him to clear the way for her to leave. And a rude patron parked so as to take up two parking spots instead of one in what is already a small parking lot. If you are 1-3 people looking for some cheap and fast food, this place could work for you. If you are asking for good service with a good vibe environment, don't be fooled by their charming decor, or its religious oriented interior. The servers here clearly pick and choose who they want to treat well. And that night we were not it. Its not ethical to expect good money for such blatantly bad service. I had seen bad reviews for this place written here so I had visited just by myself a few weeks prior to check it out. And I did have a good experience then. (But it was just me and it was during non peak hours.) So I trusted them enough for my second visit to give me and my niece a positive birthday experience. But I regret that decision wholeheartedly. I'm sorry I put my family through this. If I had not toted my whole family with me I would have left at the first signs of poor service. I DO NOT describe this place as family-friendly. We are locals. We were looking to find a family spot we could frequent ever since a place nearby Cafe Cancun closed. We came that night wanting to check it out to possibly become frequent customers. Thanks for letting us know that isn't called for. I chose you over El Torito because I wanted to support a smaller business, but in this case that choice served you better than me or my family.
