Referral came from an Winnipegger now living in Puerto Vallarta. Easy access by city bus (8 peso per person) or by cab which is 50-70 peso depending on where you are staying. Staff does speak English. Menu in Spanish and English. Ordered appetizer, surf n turf and shrimp dinner and a couple drinks all for 1100 peso. Awesome deal and great service. Food was very tasty, the steak was very tender. The shrimps were huge. Really the only complaint is that the food is very rich so careful what you order. Oh, by the way, we will definitely be going back for dinner on Friday and then to the airport to return home.

This is one of my favorite restaurants here in Puerto Vallarta. It is family owned and operated. Father, mother, two sons and daughter all operate this fabulous restaurant. The dad is the chef and he is amazing. My wife is vegan and he always cooks her something different and new that she always loves. They, in my opinion, have the best filet mignon in town. It's a bit up from the beach but is well worth the walk to get there and experienced this wonderful place

Make it a point to come here when in Puerto Vallarta. You can cut the fillet mignon with your fork. Bloody amazing meal every time I have been there.

Celebrating thanksgiving away from home - the staff , from the person that welcomed us to the waiter, the bartender and - to make it more special - the chef welcomed us and made us feel at home and that was just the ambiance! The food was amazing, we all took turns to taste each other’s dish and OMG everything was delicious and plentiful! Warning: this is a cash only establishment!!!!!

Super cute family owned business! A few blocks away from the beach but the walk is worth it. My boyfriend and I both had the filet mignon, really tasty and especially loved the cheesy potato. We were looking for a fancy dinner and we definitely found it! Will definitely be back on our next trip to Puerto Vallarta.

This restaurant is Amazing!!!! I had the seafood combo in a lobster sauce and it was incredible! It was mahi mahi, octopus, shrimp! Wow!!!! The margaritas are so fresh also. Fernando is the best server! I will be back in a few days to try something else! Wow. 5 stars!!!!!

Based on a recommendation we tried Chenando's and we were sure glad we did! A cozy clean space with two "zones", the first more of an open air setting yet quiet while just off the street, you then pass thru a set of double glass doors where you enter the conditioned space. Being from a colder climate we opted for the latter. We were greeted immediately with enthusiasm and seated at a table which commanded a view of the bar and glimpses into the kitchen. A Caesar salad was crisp and fresh while an order of Guacamole accompanied by fresh warm tortilla chips, and three salsas was spot on. A couple of Margaritas, a beer and the clear leader of the pack Sangria were brought to the table. The menu is diverse yet not overwhelming. Mahi Filet, Peppersteak, Shrimp Crepes and Sauteed Pulpo were ordered. Prior to delivery a warm garlic toast was brought to the table and then dinner. The pulpo was the best I have ever had, tender, flavorful, simply amazing. The Mahi filet (Dorado) was amazing as well, while I felt shriimp crepes was an odd combo it settled well on the palette while the peppersteak was cooked to perfection. Dessert was offered but a cot was not so we opted to make the walk home satiated and vowing to return! Lest I fail to mention it, the service was phenomenal and when we asked our Masera to let the Cosinaro know our expectations had been far exceeded we thoroughly enjoyed a subsequent visit from the Chef himself. One of if not the best experiences in 12 annual visits to PV! Bien Provecho!

We had only been there once, in January, and loved it SO much that we went back last night, mid March. The staff and owner remembered us being from a town north of PV. We have to say, it is a small place with GREAT food, we felt like family both times!!!!! Highly recommend!

Charmant petit restaurant pour un repas loin de la cohue où on peut s’entendre parler sur une douce musique de smooth jazz. Très agréable. Nous avons goûté au Fruto del mar, Seafood Combo, au burrito et à la crêpe aux crevettes. Tout est vraiment très goûteux, les fruits de mer et poisson juste bien cuits. Nous y retournerons certainement.

La comida está deliciosa, camarones, pulpo, callo de hacha, filete mignon lo que elijas lo vas a disfrutar, sólo aceptan efectivo así que hay que ir preparado, el personal que atiende es muy amable, servicial, atento y siempre están al pendiente de lo que necesitas, incluyendo al chef, el lugar está un poco retirado, pero bien vale la pena el viaje.

if you’re in puerto vallarta, this restaurant is a MUST. To start off, the family who runs it is the most welcoming and always so generous. When it comes to the food, you will never be disappointed. We went here a few days ago for my birthday and got a bunch of pasta dishes that truly blew all of our minds. the portions, the fresh ingredients and seafood was to die for. Didn’t even take the time to take pictures cause everything was gone within minutes. We will be coming back here many more times during our stay. Go to this restaurant!!

Incredible food!! I had the best fillet in years and my husband had the Shrimp pasta with lobster sauce-this was liquid gold. This restaurant does not disappoint on any level as the service was equally as good. We will return with our friends-The advised us to save room for their Flan - I was full but my husband wanted to try it- we we’re both impressed -was the best we have ever had any where.

I’ve eaten here twice and it’s great food. No food demon at this place. I had dinner here and week ago. It was a bit pricey but the food is great. I ate lunch here and it was way better in price and the food and service is great. Too bad it’s closed on Sundays, my friends and I have drinks and lunch out every Sunday. I would have given atmosphere 5 stars but the flies are terrible this time of year. Seems to be like that when the doors are open and no air conditioning.

This was a special birthday dinner. Two of our party had the pepper steak which was outstanding. Two of us had the seafood medley which was also very good. For dessert, we had flan which was some of the best we have ever eaten. All in all, a very enjoyable evening. We will be back!

If you’re walking by and wondering what this little spot might be hiding inside walk in! Had the jumbo shrimp pepper steak and a salad and wow although I’m not usually a fan of pepper steak I decided to try it as it was one of the most expensive things on the menu and wow! It was amazing my wife enjoyed the sangria while I got a whiskey on the rocks price was well worth it. Our waiter and the chef were so friendly and we left full and smiling thank you guys!

My partner wasn't feeling well, and it had been almost 9 hours since we had breakfast...I needed food. The concierge at my hotel suggested that, for a quick bite, I walk to a restaurant that he marked on my map. It was only three minutes' walk away. That restaurant was shuttered and closed, despite it being only 8pm on a Saturday. So I went next door and found Chenando's. The prices looked a little steep, but I was hungry and ready just wanted some soup, which was on the appetizer menu. Despite the heat, I love soup and find that soup in Mexico has never let me down. I went in and was seated immediately with a smile. I only brought a little cash with me, because even though this area feels very safe, I was a solo lady walking alone, armed only with intermediate Spanish, at best, at night, in a new place. This place did not take credit, much like almost every other place in Puerto Vallarta. I asked if they could make the tortilla soup with chicken, since I wanted to get at least a little protein, and the waiter happily obliged. You guys. Omg. I come to Mexico at least three times a year, trying out different cities. This might have been the best meal I've had in all of those trips. It was easily the best tortilla soup of my life. The chunks of avocado were so soft and had absorbed the flavor of the soup. They melted like butter in my mouth. THEN there was the bread! I don't even know what it was. Sort of like Hawaiian rolls, but toasted. Freaking awesome. If I wasn't so full from the soup, I would have stuffed all three giant pieces in my face. I could only do one. They asked how it was and I announced that this was the most delicious soup of my life. The two other tables had couples dining who enthusiastically agreed that the food here is next level. One couple from the Netherlands said they come here three times a year. From the Netherlands. To eat here, specifically. Yeah, I could see that. Altogether, my bill was 155 pesos, just under $9 USD. Hell yeah. They even gave me chocolate covered raisins with my bill.

My husband and I had the most wonderful evening at Chenando’s in Puerto Vallarta. It is a small restaurant in Zona Romantica, lovely decor, great service and magnificent food. My husband loved fruits of the sea in a delicate garlic sauce. All of the seafood was fresh and succulent. I had the sautéed mahi filet in lobster sauce with rice and fresh veggies. It tasted as though it just came out of the sea. This restaurant is worthy of a serious look by true food lovers.

They understood and accommodated my dairy allergy and replaced everything that normally would have had butter with olive oil, including the bread. excellent restaurant. the food was amazing and the service warm and professional. this restaurant is located in a more quiet part of zona romantica. it has a limited number of tables, we went during the week and was not crowded. furniture is simple and nice, the ambience is comfortable. the octopus was out of this world, by far the best I have ever had, and I come from a beach town. not a hint of chewiness, cooked with vegetables, just perfect texture and plenty of flavor. huge portion too. I would strongly recommend it. the server was super nice and very attentive, can't wait to go back

So delicious and the portions are more than enough. Fernando is great. Family owned business and very affordable. Pepper steak and shrimp Alfredo was AMAZING. Lobster wasn't is season so they didn't serve it. They only serve fresh and local. Never frozen seafood.

What an amazing meal! We had the Seafood stew (Shrimp, Octopus, Scallop and Fish) as well as the Seafood Pasta (Octopus, Shrimp, Scallops) and it was super fresh and very flavourful. Portion was huge so we had enough for lunch the next day. Also served with some very tasty garlic bread. Very friendly family run restauraunt and just a few streets away from the high traffic area.

This place should be way more busy it’s not off the malecón but walking extra blocks it’s way worth it. The food is wonderful from the size portion to the taste and it is well prized. It is definitely my new go to place for filet mignon. If you are on vacation or live here go make it out there. The staff is great and friendly service was excellent! Update: they are opened again for high season guys so worth it. Food is excellent and prices are unbeatable!!

I rarely write reviews. But, this place is worth talking about. I've never liker tortilla soup in America. But, this place made me a believer. The flavors of every meal we ate was flavorful and robust. We had the guacamole, tortilla soup, pepper steak and seafruit. All amazingly well cooked dishes. I dare you to try this place and prove me wrong.

The shrimps were huge, fresh, and delicious. The vegetables were lightly cooked and crunchy. The filet was a little tough but haven't had steak in Mexico that was tender.

We had peppercorn steak and our guest had the fillet mignon. Both excellent meals, both with double baked potatoes, veggies and garlic bread. We had two glasses of cabernet and one flan for dessert. Sauce was divine. Service was sublime. Can't wait to try other items.

They don't take Visa, but let us order and I walked 20 minutes and back to an ATM Food is excellent. The seafood plater had a delicious sauce, perhaps the octopus is slightly over cooked. The steak was excellent. Prices , cheap by US standards, expensive by Mexican standards. 3 adult beverages and 3 entrees, with 18% tip. 2000 Pesos. Cheap, delicious, big meals, friendly staff.

We went to this restaurant because it was recommended and had high reviews. The location of the restaurant is out of the way. Food was good but prices were a bit high for this restaurant.

Nice service but you come to a restaurant to eat... The grilled seafood mix had shrimps undercooked and octopus overcooked with really nothing in the mix cooked to perfection. And my wife's fish was overcooked as well and with little flavor. Will not come here again.
