Recensioni di Naan Stop Isla Vista
one of my favorite places to eat in iv. the rice bowl and a la carte options are two of the most cost effective ways to fill up your tummy in this teenage wasteland. water is free, a number of sauces are provided. the garlic naan is tight, Samosas are noteworthy, and a number of vegetarian options are offered. my girlfriend and I enjoy this fine establishment and frequent it's premises.
Best Boba in Santa Barbara. You are lured in by the aromatic curries and the warm Indian food sitting in a warm display case. Surprisingly extensive menu for such a small place. The drinks have the best value and quality in the area.
I went for primarily just the bread but the teas are really yummy as well
Great authentic Indian food. Super delicious. Owner is very friendly and generous. Wide range of menu options and reasonable prices. My favorite place to get food in Isla Vista.
Fun pun alert! This place is awesome. If you're looking for something warm and cozy, vegetable korma and daal makhne are where it's at. Chicken tikka also great. If he's got lamb that going that day, you're welcome. The owner dude who is always up front is super rad too. He is always saying 'no regrets' ....you're darn right ;) Treat yourself and get a side of bread. It's so hot and just makes everything better.
Delicious and a great deal. I got a spicy chicken curry bowl with a very generous serving of juicy tender chicken for $6, especially considering everything in IV is waaaay overpriced.
People will complain this place isn’t authentic. It’s not perhaps, but we’re not in India and it tastes great regardless. If you like your food less spicy you’ll be happy here. Their daal makhani and chicken tikka masala are my faves.
Probably one of the best places in IV. Guy is INCREDIBLY kind and gives HUGE portions. Gave me an entire extra piece of chicken for free without me even asking! Love the food too.
So good and kind and gave us samples 😍😍😍
Delicious! authentic Indian cuisine run by a Ma and Pa. It's a must if you are in town!! Tender and tasty chicken masala with basmati rice to die for!!
Naan stop is fantastic! The people are super friendly and generous, and the food is absolutely spectacular. Best chicken tikka masala I’ve ever tried. This is your sign to go here
This place is always crowded with people. Their food is mild for people, like Indian spicy stuff but few of their options never disappoint me. Saag paneer and Panner tikka is always good. Chole bhature if also a good option.
Great food with a friendly owner. The restaurant was clean and they had seating outside in the sun. I had the spinach paneer and the most delicious eggplant 🍆
Love going here to go some food fairly priced Indian food. Staff very friendly and always welcoming. They will also let you try something before getting it and have a daily special of both veggie and chicken options.
Love Naan Stop, an old favorite. I used to come here all the time when I was younger. Had an opportunity to pick some up today for the first time in a very long time, and I must say that it is just as good as I remember. And now I feel like I have been neglecting this IV gem. One of the last of the old, long running restaurants. I truly hope that the gentrification of Isla Vista won't make Naan Stop go. I have loved every dish I've tried here.
This is place is really good, I personality very ignorant with indian food but I like to enjoy myself with comfort food and this place really kicks in for me. The food is great, the workers are friendly and thats all I can say from my experience. For a small indian place this made me a fan of indian food. Highly recommend to everyone to try it and enjoy
My favorite restaurant in Isla vista by far!
Best boba in IV and amazing food for the price! The owners and staff in general are definitely the friendliest in the area as well. Makes me feel welcome every time I go there for a bite!
Great food, great service. Can here during quarantine. Though I didn’t ask, the guy gave me a sample of every dish they had so I know which one I liked. I usually don’t eat Indian food but this one I do.
A great deal, lots of food for a reasonable price. It only got hotter with time as the spicy chicken marinated in the curry. Most of the bad reviews seem to be for Boba, and service. I havent had boba here in a while so I cant speak to that but the guy working behind the counter couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.
The Indian food here is very delicious. The boba is ok, but I don't think that many boba places here can compare to ones in big cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, or New York. I recommend the chicken tikka masala. It is quite delicious.
Love Tikka masala here. Favorite Indian food in Santa Barbara area. Good for takeout. Boba teas served here. Not too spicy. Reasonable prices.Street parking except weekend , can park in lot next door.
Definitely among the upper tier of inexpensive counter-serve Indian places I've come across. Tasty and well-prepared. I was especially impressed by the roti. A lot of Indian places I've been to have terrible, dry roti. The roti here is moist, tender and has a pleasant chew.
A fast food version of the standard Indian lunch buffets, you can order complicated meals, or more commonly you can grab a 1 item bowl or 2 item plate. All the standards are here, Chicken Tikka Masala, Vegetable Korma, Chicken Vindaloo, Chana Masala, Saag Paneer, etc. They do variaties of naan that are good and fresh, and the owner who frequently works the register is very nice. You can eat in, they have a sauce stand for the mint chutney, etc you may want, and some cramped seating for those stopping in for a quick lunch. There's a small shared parking lot as well, making it convenient for lunch even if you have to drive in from outside Isla Vista. Alternatively they do take out, providing separate sauce and rice containers to make it easier to transport, and have both GrubHub and DoorDash. The prices are very good, it's slightly on the less expensive side for a lunch in the IV area.
My go-to Indian place, setup as a student buffet. Be sure to check out the larger menu, can get custom curries, samosa, dahls, etc. Buffet is inexpensive, full menu a bit pricier, but worth it. Small dining space, but happy takeout. Beware driving in IV as students wander streets as if cluless to vehicles, especially watch out for random foolish bicycles expecting world to watch out for blind entrance on busy streets.
A great indian place to get food quick. I come frequently and I can't leave the place without also getting a vegetable samosa. I sometimes come for the chicken curry and other times I find myself getting tikka masala. There is never much of a wait and the seats are fine but I prefer to get it to go.
I am actually obsessed with this place! Their samosas are so delicious, very flaky on the outside and moist on the inside. I love the new veggie korma they have begun serving. I wish they would bring back the vegetable rice, but I have truly enjoyed every meal I've ever had there! I love the clever name and I am stoked about the boba tea - especially the Taro! SO good! love naan stop
Try the teas and sample the curry if needed. If you love curry, then all of it's good. Kind, welcoming, and friendly service
The Chicken Masala was fantastic, and paired great with their garlic naan. My opinion is a bit biased because I love Indian food, but overall a very charming little restaurant. Sami is usually running the register and is a very warm guy. His suggestions are fantastic if you don't know what you want.
Food is fire and the guy who’s always working gives large portions + a little extra. Shop could look at little better but I go to restaurants for the food not the atmosphere. I would post a picture but I tore it up.
Just now ate here for the first time and I am so mad I haven’t come here sooner. Immediately as I started my order, the man who I can only presume to be the owner gave me multiple samples of different chicken dishes to help me decide what to order. I was treated with the utmost respect and customer service, as he even threw in a free garlic naan, since it was my first time. I highly recommend.
Owner is super nice, gave me free samples of the different curries to try as well as a Taro drink before I made a final decision on the order. Food is good as well.
Great Indian food, had a lovely chat with the Indian owners originally from Birmingham (England). Just like a good curry from the UK. Plenty of vegetarian options.
THE TIKKA MASALA AND NAAN IS THE BEST EVERRR 1000/10000
Great place all around. Sort of a hidden gem in IV. Their garlic naan is the best. The owners are great as well, very friendly people and great service. Just had a sample of their green tea smoothie/milkshake and will definitely be back to get one. Don't be afraid to try the food too, you can sometimes get a small sample to try first and everything I've gotten has been good (:
Our Daughter recently started at UCSB,and I think the first food she found was Naan Stop.Wow am I so glad fate shined upon her and led her to Naan Stop. The food here is incredibly tastey. She brought our family here on Friday and showed us what she found.First off...Im loving it.So tastey. Our daughter has come here several times and I think the owner has been very kind to her.He has given her samples, even when she did not ask,I think in an attempt to have happy customers, and perhaps try and give her some new tastes, which can be found in indian food. There were four of us that sat down.It has about six tables inside the restaurant. There is parking behind the restaurant. If you pull in and park to the right, that seems to be a community center parking, with a polite and active patrol gaurd, which said I think technically the stuff on the right is community center parking. So he did say behind the back entrance there is parking.Ok parking aside...The FOOD!!! Three of us ordered chicken of the day,and our ucsb daughter ordered chicken ticka masala with an extra side of curry sauce...which might have been chicken of the day sauce. The food was ready pretty quick really. The food came in circular containers approximately 4 inches circular by 3 inches tall.Inside I found tender chunks of curry chicken with a very flavorful curry sauce over basmati rice. With my first bite,I knew this guy made a legit product. It was warm, fresh and flavorful. The meals were served with Naan Bread with butter and herbs wrapped in tinfoil served on the table. We realized our daughters smart move with extra curry sauce,as that fire warmed garlicky toastey Naan Bread dipped in any of the items such as Chicken Tikka Masala or Chicken Of The Day,is pure Nirvana...and that is no joke. The owner may or may not have sensed that his latest new customer, had now also brought her family here, but he brought out a WHOLE BUNCH of that toastey, garlicy, buttery Naan Bread to us free of charge. It was so welcomed by our family,as it was warm and crunchy and dripping with butter and herbs....wow that was some tastey eats. GREAT JOB NAAN STOP. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Indian food,or would like to try it. Just go there and play it out.It is good food.
One of the best Indian restaurant in town! Great selection of chicken plates for all kind of customers, those you love spicy food, or those you prefer mild. The naan bread was delicious and fresh made. We tried the garlic one , and we loved it. Naan Stop will definitely be our favorite place to eat Indian food.
Great Indian food from a great guy. Sunny always makes us feel welcome. The Tikka Masala and Garlic Caulifower are my favorites.
Delicious food and friendly service! Best Chicken Tikka Masala I've ever had
Best Indian food in SB. The tikka masala is outstanding along with other dishes including saag paneer and chana masala. Naan is made fresh. Friday nights they have the eggplant dish and that is a must. Best for takeout.
Great food and really friendly people and environment. The owners are very welcoming and are happy to talk and get to know you. Great Indian food, very authentic!
Doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is delicious. While you can sit down, it's nothing fancy and perhaps more of a take out kind of place catering to the student clientele. The owner is very nice and friendly.
ignore the haters. this is as good as it gets in IV. the food is affordable and they give great portions! i highly recommend the chicken tikka masala and saag paneer. the thai tea is also very delicious, goes well with the meals. dine in is not the best here as it's a small space, so you're better off doing take out.
We discovered Naan Stop a couple years ago and make sure to stop by every time we visit SB bc we LOVE IT. The owner is one of the nicest guys on the planet and is happy to provide samples until you decide on your favorite curry. The bowls are perfectly sized for a meal or even two if you're a light eater. The proportions between rice and curry are always 100% perfect, even down to the very last bite at the bottom of the bowl (I sometimes tear up when I get to that point, but such is life). I haven't found a bad piece of chicken yet either; they are all prime chunks grilled to perfection. You can't go wrong with the Paneer either, and coconut specials are also perfection so the hardest part is choosing just one! Pro tip: order at least 2 different curries and share w a partner.
I came here expecting low quality but cheap Indian food and was pleasantly surprised. The dishes are quite tasty and the lamb I ordered was prepared perfectly, which is not easy. The pre-prepared dishes are cheap and the regular dishes are still just below average price. Definitely coming back.
The hospitality here was great when we went. The food had naan stop flavor! So delicious and affordable. Great spot for vegitarians as it has many options to pick from so that you can enjoy your meal now and still come back later to try other new options and combinations. They provided samples and helpful information in case one has allergies or preference. I highly recommend trying this place. I look forward to coming back and trying more of their foods.
I have not nearly enough words to express what an incredible establishment Sunny & his family run here in Isla Vista. I’ve been visiting this place since 2016, almost 9 years later & I’m still driving all the way from Central Valley to get a plate of their delicious food. The quality & taste of their food truly stands the test of time. Sunny (the owner) is always greeting us with the warmest & kindest customer service. He offers you samples to taste all their dishes & also offers a “special of the day.” So you’re bound to find something to your liking on their menu! Pictured, is my usual order: chicken tikka masala, their “special chicken of the day,” toasted garlic naan, white basmati rice, & mango lassi. Their mango lassi is undeniably the best I have ever tasted, from any restaurant. And the portions for their food & drinks are a great value for their price. Sunny, if you’re reading this, it was a pleasure seeing & speaking with you again, & my family & I will gladly return in the next coming years! Thank you for continuing to bring comfort to the heart of Isla Vista!
A gem in the rough. wonderful food, large portions. Friendly service, samples. Traditional Thai menu that appeals to local audience. Great taste. quick service. Kinda like a panda express for Thai. Solid choice and nice option in IsLa Vista
Amazing food. Excellent customer service, traditional Indian food made the right way. I definitely recommend this place. The owner is an amazing person and works very hard to keep this place running smoothly serving incredible food. I will be back!!
Absolutely love the guy who works here!!! I would argue that this is the best spot in IV. The first time that I went, I had a great convo with the boss (I’m guessing he is?) and he kept giving me and my friends samples and big portions of food. Came back again today to buy some boba for my roommate that graduated. We had a good conversation and have gave us two free bowls as a congratulations!! Support this business as much as possible! The thai tea boba is amazing and his food is the first authentic Indian food I’ve ever had! :) Thank you! <3
I visited from Washington and had the best experience ever. The Vindaloo curry is perfectly spicy and with a savory taste. It’s mellow and calm atmosphere in this restaurant. The front cashier and workers are so kind. I will remember this forever.
Classy good Taro bubble tea kept me visiting them 3 times in a day.. Chanced upon their Saag paneer and just could not stop eating. Tried the chicken tikka masala and I was done for the day.. Good wholesome food, carried forward by an experienced food centric family. UCSB's favorite hangout for a good hearty meal..
Great pricing and friendly staff. Had a discussion about the music industry and art with the cashier. Friendly guys and great food!
The food is so so good, and the owner is realllly nice!! I usually get the tiki marsala and it’s the bomb, and I also got this frozen mango drink which was really good too
The food tastes like home... if my parents were Indian. They toast the naan on the spot for you. The cheese naan I got had melty cheese inside. The chicken tikka masala and the coconut sauce were great.

Everything was absolutely delicious. I am Indian and being Indian. I'm very critical of Indian food, but this food was absolutely delicious. Everything was 10/10 He even let us sample the dishes. Diamond in Isla Vista
10/10 would recommend! Excellent service and delicious food! The owner is very friendly, and I recommend getting the rice plate - you get so much delicious food: rice and your choice of 2 sides - chicken and/or vegetarian options. And you can sample anything you are interested in trying! Will definitely be coming back soon!
Tasty food and excellent service! Large servings, I barely finished my curry chicken and I eat a lot..!
If you love spice and flavorful food this place is for you! I cannot believe I just found this place. I was blown away by how delicious everything is here. Yes! I tried everything because the owner provided samples of EVERYTHING! From the chicken curry to the tofu curry they have a scrumptious selection of food. I love that they have vegetarian options with their plates like lentils, garbanzo beans, and spinach. How do they make spinach taste delicious?!! It's still a mystery for me! Will definitely be back!!
Amazing food, had a craving for some authentic Indian food and couldn't have picked a nicer place in IV. I had the chicken biryani and it comes with raita and a choice of curry from there selection. The biryani was amazing and the daily chicken curry was amazing as well. The guy at the front was really nice too
Best Indian food I’ve tasted in SB! Highly recommend the Puri (deep fried naan). It’s made from scratch.
Fantastic Food Fantastic Host ! Sunny is fantastic with the service very hospitable gentleman. Loved the food. We had chicken tikka, paneer, vegetable curry, chicken korma garlic naan My son doesn’t eat indian but he now insists on going there again and again.
Love this place! You can always try before you order, what I absolutely love. Amazing quality and kind service!
Delicious Indian food! The place is small and not a sit down restaurant. But I will come again for the food. All the dishes are ready to eat so no waiting time. I highly recommend this place!

This is my go-to for Indian food. I wouldn't call it amazing, but it's very tasty, pretty fast, and SO cheap. I always get the chicken tikka masala with plain naan and rice. Don't forget to try out their sauces! The green sauce is really tasty: mint and cilantro team up for amazingness.
This is one of my favorite indian restaurants in the Santa Barbara area for ordering a Chicken Tiki Masala bowl and a Mango Snow Bubble with Boba drink. However, I only go there when the UCSB students are on either school breaks or summer vacation because parking is impossible otherwise.
Great fast-food Indian fare at excellent prices. Lots of vegetarian options for those inclined. And their Naan is fantastic, as you might expect. Highly recommended.
Good variety of Indian food, service is a bit slow around peak hours so be patient, but the food tastes great! Highly recommend lunch special, great value!
When you walk in, stay to the right; this is where you will find the menu on the wall and order. I see people walking up to the register and trying to order, the setup isn't 100% intuitive but that's fine. To be honest, I did the same thing, but I figured it out while waiting for the register guy to ring someone else up. The customer service was good. I chatted briefly with the dude at the register. The two people running the front seemed nice. I ordered food from here a few days ago. It was amazing. It reminded me of another Indian food place in Los Angeles. Imo the place is a two $$, but for this area it's a single $. After being deprived of food for so long, this really filled me up nicely. The Earl Grey boba is not worth getting though; it's a real shame because Earl Grey done right can be a really outstanding choice for milk tea boba. The boba was cooked correctly, it wasn't raw nor was it overly soft and falling apart in the straw. The biggest bonus I would give this place is that they have a cute girl working there ^_^ (They would get 4 stars regardless of her being there or not)
Small room and not that much of a selection but the food is the best ever since Taja Malha and Indian Club closed. I absolutely love the Chicken Tikka Masala. The milk tea is also the best by far that I've ever tasted around here. It's not overly sweet like the other places that I've been to which is nice. It's also quite affordable which is a major bonus since I love Indian.
Really good food, new prices are steep. The restaurant is hot no air conditioning. Super busy. They need to hire more help. Some of the staff have no people skills or technological know how. That’s certainly ok but don’t make me feel bad because you don’t know how to work your pos system. Also forgot my naan bread.
Think Panda Express, but for Indian food. They have trays of pre-made food and serve straight from them. It's not gourmet, but I think it tastes pretty good, and it's not absurdly expensive! I like the chicken tikka masala, but the veggie options are good, too! If you don't mind paying an extra couple dollars, I'd recommend also getting either a samosa or warm naan. A word of caution. There are several menus in the store, so it's a little confusing to order. I (and the people working there) recommend you just pick something from the blackboard next to the food trays. I always just get a rice bowl. Simple and cheaper than most other options! Something I don't like about this place is the use of plastic and styrofoam bowls and utensils. Something to keep in mind if you're bothered by using disposable things.
The food quality has improved exponentially, ever since India Club (same owner) in Goleta closed down and the staff (along with the Chef) moved to Naan Stop. Great Tikka Masala, Dal Makhani and Saag Paneer. A la Carte is a bit more expensive than to-go-buffet, as expected, but is worth the cost.
GOOD food! We used to go here a lot during Covid. Wonderful owners and staff. Great place to hang and enjoy good food. Parking on the street or in the back lot. Easy to get to. Reasonable prices. Cozy. You can order to go, eat inside or out. Counter help. Worth the drive from SB. Located in the heart of Isla Vista, near UCSB.
This place has great food but is a little expensive. It also inexplicably does not offer a thali option. Thali makes so much more sense for eating Indian food – I don't necessarily want a heaping mound of just Tikka Masala, but rather a little bit of everything. Why not offer a thali?
I ordered takeout and didn’t know which chicken curry to buy. I was asked to taste test 3 flavors. My choice was very good for the very low price. The spinach with tofu was also interestingly good and delish!
I ordered the chicken tikka masala rice bowl. It wasn't creamy or sweet enough, but it was a good deal for the price. They also sell boba tea here, although I didn't try it. The naan was too oily. Unfortunately, this is the only Indian restaurant nearby.
Okay quick and mid Indian food. They keep their food warmed up in metal bins, don’t know how fresh but worse than food that is made at Indian weddings.
Employees are very friendly. Some of the food hit the spot. However, the Chicken tikka masala I ordered was very watery and should have been reduced further, and the 'chai' tea tasted like Lipton black tea with milk, and was missing the spices associated with the word chai. Despite dining in, the food was served in/with styrofoam and plasticware, and there was no option to recycle (which I found sad given how close the restaurant is to the Pacific Ocean which is accumulating plastic waste, and because several other restaurants in the area have served me food in similar fashion despite being in a state considered to be environmentally progressive).
Both hubby and I got a plate dinner :consisted of 1 chicken & 1 vegetable + rice for $9.95 ,enough to feed you. We chose the popular chicken dish and the "creme spinach/tofu -both tasty with true Indian flavors. I had an almond milk tea, sweet, very almond flavor, I like it and could have Boba too added, if you wanted. It seem too sweet for hubby and daughter. The sweet cheese ball dessert was ok, I had better but could be, it was late in the day, seem overly soggy.
Honestly, it was decent at best. My boyfriend doordashes and after so many times of picking up from them, I was really excited to try it. The tikka masala had literally no flavor to it, just tomato and it wasn’t creamy at all. Just oil based sauces is what it looks like to me. Also tried the chicken “spicy” coconut curry which I expected to be thinner but even that didn’t have much of a coconut or ANY spice to it. As well as the vegetable samosa being just one giant, bland samosa. Just sad with the experience. Hope the flavors become more balanced in the future. I know a lot of the herbs and spices are expensive to get.
I was going to give a 3/5, because the food wasn’t bad, and I thought maybe I just have high standards of Indian. But the Chicken Tikka wasn’t very spicy or flavorful, it was 10$ for a small container of Chicken Tikka which was their largest size. I have nothing against dark meat, but traditionally Chicken Tikka is made with white meat and this was dark meat, which is fine but not as high quality/is much cheaper. Less than 20 minutes after eating this my stomach started hurting and is still uncomfortable (and my stomach isn’t easily upset). Also, they use styrofoam which is just cheap and lazy and bad for the environment. However, I will say that the staff was friendly and it was a very easy in store experience.
WORST naan ever! The Naan was surely retrieved from the Orowheat outdated store. It was stale and actually I couldn't even tear it with my teeth -that's how chewy and stale it was. Crazily overpriced - orders of Naan is over $7 and $10 for a small Dal and $11 for a small Sag Paneer resulted in a $30 lunch - for vegetarian food and inedible naan. I've been to India, Dal and Sag Paneer (with a stingy amount of Paneer) isn't expensive to make! Don't pay it! Head over to Lily's tacos and for $4 a taco you get fresh veggies and meat if you want it.
I have eaten here before and the food was decent, not the best Indian food I have had but by far not the worst. Decent prices and portion sizes. However this time around, my experience was much worse. The food was scheduled for pick up at 1:00pm, and the restaurant did not confirm my order until 2:15pm. I understand that they were busy, but I did not know whether or not my order was received. When I went to pick the order up, the employee said that my order was canceled by Door Dash (it was not), even though I had received a message from Door Dash that the order was ready for pick up. After leaving without my order, and after a pretty rude encounter with the worker, I contacted Door Dash to ask why the order was canceled, upon which they said it was not. Ultimately, I did not get a refund from the restaurant, and was on the phone with Door Dash for 45 minutes trying to resolve the issue. My order was finally refunded, and it was determined that Naan Stop had canceled my order without telling me. Overall a very bad customer service experience, and will not be returning.
24$ for this ! would appreciate if the curry was a bit bigger in size normally this container is for side salad ie free not for a 14$ curry this is not what i expected! improve yourself dont rip people’s pocket
Only Go when the older gentleman is working the front. This old lady just gave me 3 small bits of chicken for $10. I’ve had 10 times better service with the older gentleman, please don’t let that lady serve anymore.
10/10 would not reccomend. My and my roomate went in and got boba teas and that same night both of us got food poisioning. When we woke up, the teas were completely seperated within two liquids: a peanut butter like substance and a clear syrup while the boba balls are coasted with a fuzz. Maybe we just got the last of the old boba but I probably wont be returning.
Soggy naan. Small portions. Food is heated up from frozen. And fyi the entrees don't come with rice. Anyone saying this is good probably just has never had good Indian food. I gave this place two disappointing tries. Stay away.
They use only styrofoam containers to serve all their food in, even if you eat it there. This concerns me because it is so much plastic waste that is not recyclable and harms our local ocean and wildlife. I would consider going there if they changed their containers and eating ware. Please change your styrofoam! Something that is bioregradable, environmentally friendly or reusable!
Worst customer service ever !! We ordered food through door dash & went there to pick up food after we received the notification that our food was ready for pick up. The lady at the front desk was completely clueless about online orders , first said she didn’t see our order then said she can see our order but can’t print it out then she said her chef is on break so she is not able to deliver our orders. She was very rude overall !! We will never order food from this place !!
This is the only Indian-ized restaurant in the Isla Vista area and, without competition, they seem to take the customers for granted. The customer service at Naan Stop leaves a lot to be desired. Urmil Pujji, the host, continued being rude to customers, often confronting them with her own questions/snide remarks even if they asked genuine questions. For a customer with a kid in front of us, who said her kid didn't like the tea she ordered and that she wants to order a new one (ready to pay again), she said she can't help it coz that's what they ordered. She was making comments about the orders our friends were making, telling them you can't carry all the food yourself, and that she won't take just an order of hot tea. When a payment wouldn't go through and the customer was asking what's going on, she asked, "Am I lying"? It is surprising that a business like this that's been around for 2 decades forgets that they need to be nice to the customers at the very least.
I used to love this place. Recently they changed their prices so that, instead of getting a better deal on larger orders, large to go containers cost disproportionately more than their smaller counterparts. 8oz Chicken is 5.75 12oz Chicken is 9.75 The difference in volume is 150% The difference in price is 170% Then they charge an extra dollar if you want Chicken Tikka Masala! They clearly changed their pricing to a more predatory model to take advantage of drunk college students. This is a sad cash grab from a great restaurant. I cannot recommend this place anymore. If you want to get a delicious Indian feast, go to Masala Spice.
We ordered 3 different entree which cost us $50. When we got it, it didn't come with rice or anything. I called the restaurant 3 times asking them why I didn't get rice and the guy rudely said that's just how it is and hung up on me. The lamb was over cooked and it tasted as if it was previously frozen and heated as if it's newly cooked. I absolutely question all the good reviews here. Giving this place 1 star is VERY generous.
Food was OK at best, but overpriced, and the staff was very unfriendly. The person serving appeared miserable. Water jug was visibly dirty. I think it is a strategy so you buy a soda can for $5 or something. Probably won't be returning. Have a great day!
They’re the rudest group of people. Tried ordering twice on Uber eats and they always cancel. When we called they say we’re not on Uber eats and cancel the order. Once we ordered on Uber eats and they said they never received our order while they cancelled at the exact same minute. Don’t know if this is a problem with Uber eats or the restaurant but they are extremely rude if you try to talk to anyone at the restaurant. Unhelpful and rude. I’ve never gone out of my way to put a bad review for a place but their attitude and behavior warrants a warning
