In Izamal, this is the place to eat. As is often the case, these places near the market stalls offer the most authentic Mexican cuisine. Don't miss it… Just like this pretty little yellow town, so calm and peaceful, so different from the busier Valladolid! In short, a little detour that's well worth it.
The lime soup and local tacos are excellent.
We had a great experience here. A busy food hall with lots of vendors. We ordered tacos with pollo and tostada. Tasted great with the salsa provided and the ladies were very helpful. 256 mxn for 2 x cokes, 6 tacos and 3 tostada. I was initially concerned I might get Ill from food at the market but don't let this put you off. Food was great and no illness.
Delicious, fast service, the mamacita who took our order was lovely! We recommend the cheese and roast beef salbutes! The chia seed lemonade is also very good! Enjoy your meal!
Really good foor for reasonable price. We got the food within 5 minutes and it was delicious. Ladies there were so nice, they did explain us everything and helped us to choose what we want.

Delicious food for a cheap lunch
Salbut (salbute) with different stews. They are exquisite: stuffed cheese, stuffed black, and roast turkey, to name the most popular. Their menu also includes panuchos, tortas, lime soup, tripe, and more. The fresh waters are equally delicious and extremely refreshing. I recommend the lime water to accompany this delicious dish. It's part of the experience of visiting Izamal.
Delicious salbutes and assorted panuchos, as well as the delicious chaya sgua with pineapple at a super affordable price. You eat much better in flavor and seasoning than some restaurants there where you would spend triple the price.
Don't miss the venison salbutes!!! The best.

Excellent black filling
Loncheria is located in a closed-off market square. As we passed by earlier, there were quite a few locals there, so we decided to eat here. We managed to communicate in Spanish, using a translator. We ordered tacos and drinks. The tacos were okay, the best being the roasted ones. We've had better, though, hence the four stars.
If you want to eat like the locals, you can't miss this place! The salbutes were delicious; we tried a variety of flavors that delighted our palates. The only downside was the peacock meat, which was unfortunately tough and not very flavorful. Of course, everything was served quickly and prepared fresh.
Recommended, something traditional and simple.

The lady who served us was rude, you can only order 3 and she gets upset if you ask for a plate to share, the place is dirty
The food was good, but the service was terrible. It's not the customer's fault they don't have enough seats. We arrived, ordered our food, and everything was fine. After a few minutes, a family arrived and they were seated next to us, but the family was very large, about six people, so the employees started rushing around. I hadn't even started my meal yet. They took my tortilla warmer away, then they started taking other people's orders right in front of us instead of walking over to where we were. In short, they didn't let us enjoy our food properly. I really don't recommend it.
