The food is good and the drinks are amazing!!! The waiter/waitress will warn you about if the drink you're ordering is very strong- trust them. Good spot for big parties and groups of friends. Definitely recommend it and would go back again. Catfish was delicious (had it twice now), have been hooked since the first time we went. Portions are big. So many options for sides and they taste authentic. Completely forgot to take a pic- next time...

Just ordered from here for the first time tonight 5/17/25 and the food was DELICIOUS!!!! Pork ribs, potato salad, garlic mash potatoes, collard greens, mac n cheese, corn on the cob, cornbread and chocolate cake.....all were awesomely good although the collard greens had something in it that was a little grainy like sand. Other than that I really enjoyed the food and definitely will order from here again!!!

What a great BBQ joint. Food came quick and was full flavor. The Turkey burger and burger were juicy and filling. I love fries and this place was great. The Long island or Southern Spiked Ice Tea was strongggggggg. My Smokin Strawberry Lemonade was sweet.

I was invited to go to attend comedy night. There was a $15.00 cover and a two drink or food requirement. A nice mix of mature folks there to eat and laugh. About 7 comedians took over the mic to perform while we dined on bar b que and fries. I got the pulled chicken sandwich which came with fries and coleslaw. The food was decent, nice and hot when it arrived. You just have to get the attention of the waiter as he navigates the room. This joint is located in the heart of Southeast Queens. I had a good time.

Easily accessible from Queens or Brooklyn 1/2 mile North of Farmers Blvd. exit of 22 Belt Parkway and 3/4 mile East of the Linden Blvd. Exit of 678 Van Wyck expressway. Their homemade sauces are the keys to their success as well as their Barbecue Ribs, Chicken and grilled Steak, Salmon and Catfish. All their sides are of southern cuisine black eyed peas, collard greens and macaroni and cheese to name a few. Table service is quick and always available. Fully stocked bar and local sports are viewed from lunch or dinner until closing . Jazz night on Thursdays.

Spending the weekend with my bff before the breast cancer walk and she decided to order wings from Smoke pit. We pre ordered over the phone a total of 100 wings, pan of sweet potato fries, large collard greens and Mac and cheese. We were told 30 mins but it took about an hour because when we got there 30 mins later we still had to wait. No worries all was good. The food was great and I have no complaints. I did want to take a star away because they missed 25 wings but when we called they apparently already knew and told us we can come get the wings anytime. They were nice about it and we had more than enough for everyone. Overall I loved the food, place looked very clean and service was great.

I absolutely enjoyed my meal. I got the brisket sandwich and a half slab of beef ribs and cornbread. The brisket sandwich came with fries and coleslaw. Idk what kind of bun that was but it was sweet, delicious and complemented the brisket. Now on to those beef ribs 🤤🤤. This was my first time there and I don’t think I’m ready to explore more of the menu after those ribs. It’s was $15 but worth every penny! The meat was falling off the bone and the sauce they put on it was really good. I couldn’t eat all this food at once so I saved the ribs for the next day. Warming it up in the microwave really ruins the tenderness so you should just eat it all same day if you get it.

Great food , even better drink . I got a bit tipsy with one drink , the food is so delicious . I like the fact you could pick two side dishes ... the corn bread is soft and taste good . The seating here is great , plenty tables ,only time I had to really wait was for Valentine’s Day , but the service is good and the atmosphere has great vibes . It isn’t noisy and the food is great every time I go .

Had the catfish and shrimp it was good along with the macaroni and cheese with the collard greens. They were all good would recommend it to anyone and the coffee was good to not that instant stuff either!!! Next time will try the ribs they looked good.

I’ve came to this spot quite a few times, whenever I want some good affordable steak & don’t feel like spending $70 on Ruth Chris 🥵 I come here! They’re steak, mash & corn on a cob is my GO TO! Their drinks aren’t that strong at all because they water it down! But the food is great & service is good!!! My boyfriend also LOVE their wings! Sidenote 🤭 ask for the strongest drink & mostly liquor if you want to get drunk! But this place is a good calm vibe I love it.

I've been coming here for a while with my family food is amazing, specially the beef ribs. I would've given them 5 stars until I came in with my new baby girl and family, the baby had a bowel movement , I went to the bathroom and realized that there wasn't a changing table. ( YES THESE THINGS ARE IMPORTANT ) specially since it seems like a family orientated place. other than that, they're great.

2nd Post...Took my mom there...she order her usual, Pork ribs, collards, baked beans, and Potato Salad.....hmmmm, well I tasted the Potato Salad, and it was good...Not Great or does it have that Southern taste...Suggestion...check out Sysco Potato Salad...O Wow..that is delicous. Everything else was ok to good...And yes, she would order it again...if hungry and in the area of the establishment.

I really hope the owner of this establishment is reading this review. I am a fan of all of the food there on the menu, from beef ribs to burgers. But in my opinion, they need to work on one thing. And that's the macaroni and cheese. Way too dry for me to order a second time. If they can perfect macaroni and cheese, I would definitely say that they have a PERFECT menu. I hope they make that change!!!!

My only order, every single time. Beef ribs, baked beans and candied yams. That's it. It's their most perfect combo. The cornbread is delicious.

Whoever it was that cooked my ribs on 11/29/23 did a great job! They were tender, juicy, fresh and half a step from falling off the bone. Much improved from the last time I visited Smoke a few years ago. The mac & cheese was ok, it could use some seasonings in preparation; cornbread, small but very good. I will be returning to try some other items.... definitely will order the ribs again. I used the parking at the rear of the restaurant. Thanks for a great meal!

Seems to be a popular place. The gentleman covering the take out orders was courteous. He also seemed distracted but still did his job. I had the turkey burger and sweet potato fries, which I enjoyed. I tasted from a trio that my sister ordered (short ribs, chicken tenders, onion rings). I liked the flavor of everything that I tasted.

This restaurant is cozy, convenient and has lots of great dishes and desserts. There is also a bar. There is space to be socially distant and also a party room for private events. Don't forget to try the southern fried catfish and sweet tea !!!

The Fried Catfish were really good, chicken wings and roasted chicken were delicious. The ribs were ordered were OK. Am not sure if the potato salad and collard greens have been tailored for NYC market but both were watery and lacked flavor. The corn bread was tasty but had a very crumbly texture. Still a solid southern place in Queens that is reasonably priced with a lot of seating.

Not going to lie I had doubts about this spot but my fiancée suggested it so we went anyway and I was actually satisfied so it’s def worth the review so here to we go! The drinks hit heavy, Glad we took an Uber there that’s for sure. The food was on point, the pork ribs may not be falling off the bone but that type of cook takes a lot of time and effort so very understandable. The beef ribs on the other hand did break apart so easily and were juicy. The Bake Mac was delicious just as much as all the other sides. We even ordered an additional plate of pulled pork and even that was slamming. I would suggest adding hand wipes for sticky fingers.

There has been a decline in service/staff, I do see a lot of new faces. Staff needs to be more social, and attentive they forget basic things like silverware, checking to see if you need anything... Also the staff needs to be more mindful! They walk around rubbing their nose(two staff I noticed doing this) Thank Goodness neither was attending to me.

The prices charged were not the same as the menu prices. I brought this to their attention, and they said the meny prices were cash prices, we paid in cash and were not given any change. I found this a bit deceptive. Besides that the food was good.

The food was ok. Ribs should ALWAYS be falling off the bone and sadly, theirs were not. The mac n cheese needs a COMPLETE do over but the collards and potato salad were delicious. The ribs were tasty but nothing to write home about and the service lacks in abundance. One of the managers did let us know that they are currently hiring so they seem to be short staffed. Great decor, very woodsy and goes with the food but I feel they need a chef that specializes in these types of southern cuisines to make the foods more flavorful. The cornbread was just cake with no flavor. I never had cornbread like that, it was a shock to my system.

I normally love this place I eat here often and I typically get calamari and catfish and even bring guest who always tip. But I've been gone for a few months. However my recent experience there was slightly disappointing I walked in and seated myself, the waitress didn't exhibit good customer service, i even had to grab my own menus and when I ordered the young waitress didn't bring exactly what I asked for. I'd love to see a consistent group of waitresses and waiters who provide excellent customer service! Food was alright calamari could have been better burger was excellent.

Big eatery for NY, Food was delicious. Plates were small but I left full (and I eat a lot) 2 beef ribs (they call that a half slab) 2 sides and a water: $28 Their "special" is $15 for 6 ribs ONLY no sides if you want sides it's $22 (no drinks) expensive? I'm reluctantly giving this place 3 stars because I never got to taste the food. I strolled in 2 hours after they unlocked the doors, but it seemed like a ghost town – no welcoming committee or menu in sight. I sashayed over to the bar, where two guys were having a grand old time, but no one cared to seat me or offer a menu. Eventually, a gentleman appeared, but he was too engrossed in his phone to spot my pitiful state. After a couple of awkward minutes, I mustered the courage to interrupt his phone-a-thon, and he begrudgingly handed me a menu. I dared to ask if they could clean a slightly messy table I had my eye on, but the waiter acted like I'd requested a unicorn ride, suggesting I sit elsewhere. Disheartened but determined, I found another spot, after which I headed to the ladies room only to discover the bathroom floor sounded like I was peeling off tape with every step. I decided it was time to bounce – the service was more of a sad comedy than fine dining, and I couldn't endure it any longer.

Overall, the food doesn’t taste great. I had the beef brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich and New Yorker burger. The burger was bland while the brisket and pulled pork was mildly sweet/medicine-y. The fries that accompanied each were not flavorful either. The 4.0+ rating and 1K+ reviews surprised me since the food didn’t seem to match

The Pork ribs I got were super SALTY. The meat was tender buy I could not eat it. After 1 piece I had to stop. The rest of the "Half slab ribs" was thrown out because it was Too Salty. The others sides were just ok. Nothing exceptional. I will not be going back. There was a 7 year gap from my first visit to this one. Never again.

Food was terrible Mac was horrible ribs were dry and burnt and their Mac salad has no tuna ?! Who does that ?! Yeah I will be disputing this transaction because this is not what was advertised !

My rating is off of my 1st experience ever and sad to say it was poor service. One good side if your a regular you receive better service. I waited 20 minutes for take out while the waitress helped someone who came in way after me (but again he was a regular). So long story short if your a regular you're good!

All the meat we ordered (brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and pork ribs) was drenched in sweet sauce, making it almost impossible to taste the meat. Then the iced tea we ordered was also over the top sweet. There was no balance. My suggestion: order the food but tell them to keep the sauce off. It makes no sense why they do this because they have sauce on the table. Let the customer dictate the amount of sauce they want on their food! The sides (collard greens, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes) were good but the beans tasted like they came from a can. Not sure I would return. They claim that they smoke the food but there is no scent of wood inside or outside the restaurant. Not sure where they`re smoking...

I have loved this place ever since I moved to the area some 10 years ago. The food is excellent, but the service has dropped remarkably since the new owners took over. Sometimes you are seated at a table and have to wait up to 30 minutes for wait staff to take your order. Within the last two months I noticed something that is very disturbing. My order was listed on the menu they gave me at $26, however the bill rang up as $28 and my drink was also $2 more than what was on the menu. The first time I saw it I was told that the menus haven't been updated as yet. I pointed that they cannot advertise one price and charge another. The server gave me a discount to reflect the menu price. I went back recently and the same situation still exist, this time the server is telling me that only the manager can make a change and he was not present. The server suggested that I not give a tip as an alternative. I truly didn't want to punish the server, but this shows that the management of this establishment is taking advantage of unsuspecting customers who would not pay attention to this. I don't have a problem paying an increase, but to do it like this is truly highway robbery, and cheating both customers and workers. Fix this and fix it now!!

We have ordered from here numerous of times and were overall satisfied with our food. Unfortunately, our last order (12/09/2023) was poor. My husband bit into his chicken wings and came across a tiny metal piece. I called the restaurant and asked for a manager, but was told he was not in. The young lady took my name and number and I was supposed to get a call back. It never happened. I called the next day and spoke with a manager who basically did but believe us and tried to offer a free meal. We don't need a free meal, we need a meal free of debris that should not have been in our food.

I placed an order over the phone and included in my order was 2 sweet potato pies. When I checked my order before leaving the restaurant, I saw that the 2 pies were missing from my bag. I let the young lady at the take out desk know and she went to go get them. She took a long while to come back and when she did she only had the pies in her hand. I asked her if the pies still came with ice cream and she said "we ran out". I then asked her when she was going to inform me that I wouldn't be getting ice cream and she shrugged her shoulders as if she could care less. I didn't receive an apology or an offer to substitute the ice cream for something else. She offered nothing. It was at this moment that I put the tip money that I was going to give her back in my pocket. As a customer, I left disappointed in the fact that this young lady (who represented the business at that moment) didn't care enough about a customer to try and make this less than positive experience more positive. The issue for me is not about not getting ice cream. It is about the lack of customer care that I experienced. Like all customers, I spent my hard earned money in this restaurant and expect for my customer experience to be a positive one. Customer service training and implementation is definitely recommended! I sent this review as an email to the restaurant to let them know what my experience was. It's days later and I'm still waiting for a response....

I live in the area and have been coming to this establishment off and on, for over 5 years. I have noticed that the quality of the food and drinks has deteriorated over the years. The wings are extra greasy and almost inedible. I will say, the servers are always polite and I’ve never had an issue in that regard. I am a Hennessy connoisseur and I know for a fact; they add water to the bottle to make it last. The drinks are cheap and now I know the reason. I’d rather pay more and have 100% Hennessy. I’ve also had to kill a roach crawling under my table. I haven’t spent my money at this establishment since!

We went their for the first time. We was seated and 10 min waiting no-one came over to assist us. The place was not crowed. They are low staffed. I also received the wrong order. The food is okay not great just okay. Ribs,half chicken , collard greens,yams mash potatoes corn on cob coleslaw slaw is not good. is just okay. The service can definitely be better and no I will not be going back. We did not enjoy enjoy the food.

I ordered a Beef Brisket Platter from this place today and I am thoroughly disappointed I should have just cooked myself as it would have tasted a lot better and be more filling. It was less than half a pound of meat. The brisket had zero smoke flavor to it as the website boosts their smoked meats have. The potato salad was tiny in portion as well the laughable piece of cornbread they decided to throw into the take out bag. The taste of food was lacking. Zero smoke flavor as I stated before. The corn was literally just boiled in water. It had no seasonings or salt and not even at least buttered once out of the pot. the portion on that was also a joke. I had not maybe half a corn. I wasn't worth a full corn. I guess I needed to pay them $60 for a full corn on the cob. I have gone to fast food chains like Texas Chicken & Burgers and received a bigger corn on the cob and seasoned at that. The corn bread was tiny. The meat had no flavor without the sauce and the sauce was just sweet with no real flavor to it at all. The potato salad was oddly tangy and also lacking flavor. This restaurant's show of good Southern smoked foods is disgraceful. Even the chain restaurant Dallas BBQ's has better food and portion sizes for the prices they charge. I spent $30 for a meal that couldn't even feed one person. It was more a sampler than a platter. Now I am literally about to cook my own Southern BBQ because this one left me wanting actual Southern BBQ. I will never waste another penny in this place.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I spent $60 on Door Dash from this place TWICE. The first time they only sent me 2 out of 7 items I ordered. The pulled pork was dry and cold. It was disgusting. Today I ordered again giving them a chance to redeem themselves. AGAIN the pulled pork was dry and cold, the brisket is not real brisket. The corn is nasty, the Mac is flavorless along with the “ fake “ Cajun rice. They did not send me several items I ordered. The sweet potato pie does NOT come with icecream as stated. The only good item from this place is the cornbread and that’s debatable. I tried giving them a second chance and they ruined it. I will not be purchasing from here and I’ll be sure to tell others not too. I highly do not recommend.

I use to come here for lunch years ago and the food and service was pretty good. Now, I’m not sure if the Covid-19 pandemic is to blame but the service and food was horrible. I walked in and the Host stared at me and said nothing. I had to ask to be seated. When I sat I realized how stressed the Host was. He was acting as the host, waiter, bartender and food runner for take out orders. When I got my food, it was cold. I ordered Buffalo wings with Buffalo sauce and I received them dry. I had to ask for the food to be warmed up and the wings with sauce. I had wait 15 minutes to get the food back. I also ordered a Long Island ice tea and I got pure alcohol. No chaser! I worked as a bartender and I could tell no soda was added. I had to ask for soda to dilute it. I don’t know what’s going on but I will not be returning

I have been coming here for years and I have brought family and friends and have always enjoyed the professional service and attention, the food and the atmosphere, but today was the worst experience I have ever had at this place. The young man serving our table was also tending to the bar and he was more concerned with having conversation, laughing and seving up booze and flirting that. Taking our order. We sat there for about 30 minutes before anyone inquired and took our order. I was completely disgusted with the whole experience and will not be coming back. The food was not its best either. Very disappointing and seemed like none of the staff cared.

Came on Saturday night. Not much people in here. A lady sat us down. No one came to us for almost 20 min then she came back around and asked us if someone came. I said no. Instead of taking our order she went and got some guy. He seemed like he didn’t know how to talk. He just came over and said you guys ready. Have a hat on the whole time like he’s outside. I ordered beef brisket assuming it will be nice soft and tender with sweet potato and collard greens. The beef brisket came out burnt . The collard greens tasted like it came from the dollar store can and I’ve had way better sweet potatoes. Even if there was an option to not have the beef brisket bbqed i wouldn’t know because the server didn’t say anything! Horrible service. That guy with the head and string Trinidad accent needs to go! Unless he improve his customer service.

I normally don't frequent restaurants of this type, but I was invited by a dear friend to meet members of her family. I was sorely disappointed in the service and food preparation from this establishment. The sweet potatoes were overcooked and literally hard.. Probably microwaved and definitely not fresh. The green beans were overcooked, as well. There was no accommodating by the waitress at all. Finally, when one our guest had a long piece of hair in their food, we were taken seriously. Needless to say, it was not the best dining experience and the lack of a smile and good service did not help. There are some people who don't belong in a customer facing business and the staff at the Smokin BBQ Pit are in that category. Great service is what you should provide as a courtesy to guests, especially, if your livelihood depends on it!!!! I will not recommend this place if you care about good food and service.

Saturday June 22, I brought a slab of pork ribs. For $32 dollars the ribs were overcooked and very crunchy for it to be without barbecue sauces. The collard greens were spicy something me as a southern is not use to spicy collard greens. Is there a soul food place in Jamaica anymore everything cooked in restaurants has spice in it.

this restaurants customer service is terrible. Tonight I walked in to pick up an order I called in and was greeted by a young woman Who seemed to be professional up until checking out. I let the young lady know I was splitting the bill 3 way she then proceeded to tell me it was not possible when I know good and well it was when I’ve came to this restaurant many of time even in a large group and was able to do so. Instead of going to get help from a Manager because of her lack of knowledge with splitting this situation she became irritated while I remained calm through the entire process I paid and left From this point forward I will not spend another dollar at this restaurant. Great customer service is key for success.... They need better customer service.

Definitely not the place I remember years ago. Ordered the half slab beef ribs to go with sweet potato fries..... The ribs had no taste whatsoever, chewy and dried out, and apparently a half slab consists of 2 ribs 😐. The sweet potato fries were slightly burnt and soggy. The corn bread was decent but didn't justify $30 for the meal. I tried but never again.

I gotta show this place some luv. Smoke BBQ Pit has been around for as long as I can remember and the food has been consistently good. The vibes are live and welcoming, and the staff is nothing but patient and helpful. LOVE THE BBQ BEEF RIBS!!! Update***REVIEW ABOVE WAS WRITTEN 4 MONTHS AGO. I revisited today and something has changed. The food is absolutely different and not in a good way. I returned for a pick up of my usual beef ribs, mac & cheese, candied yams, and sweet tea and unfortunately EVERY SINGLE ITEM was off. Beef ribs were not tender at all, the meat was tough and very firm. The Mac & Cheese had an off taste and it wasn't creamy. The yams were also very firm and felt almost raw; the syrup was excessive with no cinnamon or nutmeg. The sweet tea tasted unusual. The whole damn meal was pretty much....unpleasant. Smh. Returning isn't on my agenda.

Bad experience I had today. Muslim guy I put in an order for drinks and he completely ignored what I said and gave me one of what I asked for. A margarita is supposed to have alcohol right ? Why give me just syrup and frozen mix, he was rude and doesn't need to be behind a "bar". The other workers there already know what to do with no questions asked. Won't be getting served from him again

I ordered a DoorDash order from this place and despite the fact that they ACCEPTED my order and then CONFIRMED for a dasher to pick it up once the guy arrived they were fully closed. I waited for over an hour for my order, correction…my pregnant wife waited for over an hour. Horrible business practice, why promote a closing time of 11:00 PM and confirm orders when you and your employees close down without having common courtesy to call and say you can’t fulfill the order or even cancel it.

I had a terrible experience with the catering order at at Smoke BBQ Pitt. They overcharged me by $20 and didn't even provide the full three slabs of beef ribs that I paid for. His excuse was that because it is beef and not pork, it is suppose to be less. The website catering price said $90 and I was charged 110$ plus tax. Very disappointed and won't be coming back. Not an honest business at all. The catering is disorganized and they don’t provide what is promised in the site.

My mother bought food from this place and the food had a band aid with blood in it .When we called to report it we were never accommodated for the inconvenience we are disgusted honestly do not eat here

The food didn't taste good. Ordered lemon pepper wings but they were very dried. Wasn't fresh. We also ordered other food burgers with fried which wasn't very tasty. The others order were fish burger with fried which they said was good. I can't confirm as I didn't try that.

Would love to leave a review on the food but unsure what it may be as we didn’t get served. This review is based solely on the service. As a party of two, with only a few folks in the restaurant -one may think to greet a pair of customers. However, not only were we not served water or anything, they took the order of other customers before us. As we’re sitting there waiting to be asked of what we’d like to order, the server took the orders of two tables (one being sat AFTER us). After taking the orders, the server went to assist other customers. All while we’re waiting to be served, and other employees just looking at us. Some customers were even shaking their head in disbelief. It was rather embarrassing. To save us the trouble of tasting their food, we left the restaurant. After reading the reviews, it is evident that their customer service is not even subpar. Tip for management: If you see customers not being served or asked of their order, instead of looking at the customers and standing behind … ASK FOR YOURSELF. I wouldn’t blame the server as he was being pulled from many directions.

for the place, it was cold tge whole time we were there, and we told the waiter, but he only agreed, but didn't seem to make any effort to fix it. for the food, the ribs were overcooked and undesirable. we also. tried the beef brisket, but it was terrible also, it tasted like something I could get at Arby's, which isn't good either. the only good food we had was the chicken witch was deeeelicious and so was the macaroni and cheese, but The potato salad tasted like it was out of the container and the greens were mixed with turnip greens which gave them a bitter taste. The brownie Sunday was yuck and unpalatable, and tasted like they heated it up in the microwave, because after a few minutes the brownie got hard and chewy, it was so bad I couldn't eat it and sent it back. others then the Sundays there was no other deserts ready, and lucky we checked are bill because he was going to charge us for it to. i will not eat here again.

I ordered 20 chicken wings very well done with lemon pepper and mashed potatoes. My chicken was undercooked and my mashed potatoes were spoiled.

Walked in wanted to eat with my child and I was waiting to be seated and a Spanish older couple came in the man in the orange turban sat the older couple first I just stated you didn’t see me standing here and I left you won’t disrespect me and get my money nah you will never ever get my money bye!

Call three hours before they closed to ask when’s the latest I can call to place an order. They told me 11. I called at 10:20 but claimed to be closed . This info was given to me by the manager. This is extremely unprofessional. The staff doing whatever they wanna do whenever they wanna do is bad for a business. I ordered my food last time at 10:30 PM and I have a receipt to show that and this is how I know you pick and choose how you wanna run your kitchen based on how you feel and not based on the hours that you have posted.

Food was pure trash! So disappointed because in person the food was amazing. Had the food delivered and they missed two of my side orders and the brisket was bs along with the hard chicken wings! Think the driver ate one of em but he could have kept the whole order. Smdh..

Been coming here for 1 year & today is the last day. Brown who is a bartender and manager is always giving me more alcohol then what I ask for. I would always tell him "light on the alcohol" and he'll do whatever he wants. I usually come in during happy hour which ends at 7pm & would ask for the happy hour drink instead he gives me the one thats full price when thats not what I asked for. Bathroom is disgusting and when its time to pay they demand a tip as if they deserved it! Smh please go somewhere else to eat!!!!

What box of Mac and cheese do you use. This is not southern BBQ. Just BBQ. Take out and eat in are different. Make sure you check your take out before you leave. This is fish and fries? Also the beef ribs are tooooo salty. The devil food chocolate cake is.....amen. oh ..and please think about the beef ribs. Half rack of beef ribs.. you get two bones

I recently ordered from The Smoke Pit, expecting a satisfying Southern meal based on their appealing photos and online menu, but unfortunately, my experience was profoundly disappointing. I ordered the fried shrimp, macaroni and cheese, and candied yams, and I wish I could say something positive—but the entire meal is now sitting in the trash, and I’ve lost my appetite altogether. The fried shrimp tasted alarmingly off. They were soft and had a spoiled taste, suggesting they had been left sitting for far too long. Fresh seafood has a certain bounce and crispness, and this sadly missed the mark entirely. The macaroni and cheese was even more underwhelming; it had the consistency of processed Velveeta and lacked any of the creamy, homemade appeal one would hope for. Lastly, the candied yams were a sugary, hard mess, with no tenderness or balance in flavor—just cloying sweetness and an unpleasant texture. Establishments like this shouldn’t put out glossy, carefully staged photos if they can’t even come close to delivering on taste and quality. As a customer, I feel misled, and I'm left with a lingering aftertaste that honestly makes me want to rinse my mouth out. I won’t be returning, and I advise others to think twice before ordering here. Certainly! Here’s a line you can add to the end: To make matters worse, I feel like I've completely wasted my money on food that was nowhere near worth the $35 price

WOW. RUDE. POOR SERVICE. When I arrived, the guy asked what I wanted, so I ordered. Then he wanted payment. I thought that was odd. So I piad him. He told me to wait. I then said I'm here to sit down." He seemed very obtuse and started laughing. i asked, "What is funny?" He pointed to his ears that were covered up from the towel that was on his head. So I sit down. He never speaks to me. Serves my food and takes off. Never gave me water. I never asked if I needed anything or if I was thirsty. VERY RUDE. VERY STRANGE. The ribs were average.

1st time here, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, the food came out with a squashed bun I sent it back to have a completely flatted bun sent back to me. Food was mediocre at best & the salt shakers etc were oily. Staff were unprofessional & made me feel uncomfortable. Very unprofessional nevermind unpleasant. The shorter Jamaican gentleman who was my server was the only decent thing about the experience. But I will definitely not be returning. If I could give a negative 10 I would!!!
