This is a great place to eat in Jamestown. All the food I've had here has been delicious. All beer is bottled but the selection is pretty wide. Wing night on Tues and Thurs.
Excellent food, fantastic prices, and amazing staff. Service was exceptional, quick, and accurate. Cozy atmosphere, good live music. Attentive bartenders and great prices. Good location and worth a stop.
Such a great place for just about everything! Great food, drinks, atmosphere and entertainment. You'll never be disappointed when you're there for any reason!
Friendly bartender who made good margaritas. The wings were nice and crisp. The location is clean and conveniently located.
Pizza logs were really good! Cover was only $5 and the band was fun. Overall I had a great time
Great food, excellent service, and friendly clientele and patrons. Was treated like a regular by everyone
Nice local restaurant and menu with lots of choices, good daily specials, good service. Lots of TVs in the bar area to watch sports. DJ setting up on a Saturday night.
Lisa the bartender was amazing! She recommended that we try the Long Island Chicken wings, and she was right. They were delicious. Thanks Lisa!!
How did I not know about this spot. My husband and I love trying new places and this is TOP of my list!!! Food-Amazing Drinks- Good Atmosphere-Great Staff- Amazing
Great fish fry. Great service as well. We were just passing through Jamestown but I highly recommend Shawbucks for travelers and locals alike.
Lovely place with delicious food right near the National Comedy Center. The Italian sausage and smoked Gouda arancini are amazing!
Had never been there before so we wanted to try it. Food & service were both great. We'll go back.
Local watering hole vibe, great food and celebrity paraphernalia all over.
For people that is out of town, please stop by this place for clean and spacious bar. There are two bar in this place! The live music is awesome!
Shawbucks is the best place to eat in town, never had a bad meal there. The best French onion soup I've ever had!!!
you have to try the to house salad dressing 🤤🤤🤤
Dinner was very delicious. The side salad was very good due to the variety of greens. I had the eggplant roulette and it was Oh so good! The sauce was very nicely seasoned, and the pasta was al dente; just the way I like it! If you really enjoy seafood, you will love the lobster ravioli. It had large buttery Scallops and large Shrimp in a creamy tomato sauce and of course tender raviolis.
Me and my husband had a date night here and my brother in law djs karaoke. Its spacious here and is an elegant atmosphere. I saw a family bring children for dinner and anywhere there is a bar I would normally be concerned however there was no ignorant drunks and it was pretty much quiet. Both waitresses who tended to us were great and helpful. The food was amazing!!! The drinks were perfect!!! It was an overall awesome experience. My brother in law is a great dj and would recommend visiting shawbucks on Friday nights from 9 to 2 for karaoke night. Its a great place to be and their food and drinks are inexpensive and generous in size. Thank you shawbucks for a pleasant evening and we plan on having a date night here every week.
AMAZING! The atmosphere, service and food were the BEST! From the minute you are greeted at the door to the moment you walk out, they are on it!! Everything is spotlessly clean and the ambiance and energy is awesome! Can’t wait to go back!
And had been a little over a year since last time we had come here to eat. It looks like they have put some more work inside this bar/restaurant. I would encourage anyone who is is downtown to stop and eat. Food was great.
Two really good meals- pot roast and chicken bolognese- and very nice waitress Debby! We had one drink and took home a dessert ....
Great bar and dinner menu. It's worth a trip here just to chat with Danny Thomas, the bartender. Delicious complimentary popcorn available with quality drinks. Food is very good.
It's a nice quiet place to go to dine in or sit at bar have a few drinks if you drink responsibly and there's even bands and dancing there at night.give it a try it's a good place to bring family or alone😁
Decided to go here after a day of touring the National Comedy Center-which also happens to be across the street. Best choice we've made. Dinner was great as well as service.
We had a party of 12, and Summer did an excellent job waiting on all of us. The food was excellent.
We last minute came to this place after visiting The Comedy Museum due to it being walking distance and it was a 10/10. Our waitress was very kind and the food was incredible, all three meals.
Dee Dee was absolutely wonderful, as was the penne pasta and upside down meatloaf!
So glad they are back open. The mussel appetizer is a meal and so delicious, and I missed it something fierce this past year. Salads and our entrees were perfect. Service was friendly and prompt even though she was newly hired.
I never give 5 stars but shawbucks blew us away. First, the resturant was techincally closed for a event when we arrived but the owner made a private space for us. Second, our food was incredible. Grilled wings are great! Fair price for dinner, dessert and drink. One of the best road trip spots ever!
Bartenders n waitress were awesome. Nice relaxing atmosphere. First time in Starbucks sin e it has been remodeled very classy and inviting atmosphere. Nice job. This town has needed a place and atmosphere like this.
We walked in late, got very personable service, they were willing to customize menu options. A waiter will bring you food, but a server will try to ensure that all aspects of the experience are as good as possible, and we had a server. I had the wings, and the roast beef. The roast beef was perfectly seasoned, blended superbly with the flavored seasonings in the mashed potatoes. With the wings, he did a custom pan frying, meets traditional wings, blending the buffalo with the garlic and butter wings. They were perfectly crispy on the outside, moist and flavorful on the inside. I don't drink, and I wasn't there for the live music--never been into a club type scene, But I have nothing but good things to say about Shawbucks.
Went for my sons birthday food was delicious and large portions. Reasonably priced. Our waitress was wonderful the atmosphere great they make you feel right at home.
Kurt and crew do a wonderful job of making your experience at Shawbuck's memorable. The food is excellent, the place is clean and well decorated. They know what they're doing and have been a Jamestown staple my entire adult life. There's always something fun to do there.
Shawbucks never disappoints. They have some of my favorite wings around. The pan fried are in a league of their own, and the normal deep fried are cooked to perfection. Pot Roast and Chicken Ala Delicious are great, too! The bread you get with them is amazing!
I’ve been here many times and never had a bad meal. I’ve brought my family here as well and it was hit. Fav order so far - Calamari app and a side salad. The wings are great as well. Service is always great.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in Jamestown. The food is all great and the prices are not bad. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Haven’t made it for a late night but the dueling bars I’d imagine would keep the drinks flowing. Get the mussels as an, they are amazing.
Absolutely fantastic. My husband's steak was perfectly medium rare, and his risotto had no business being that delicious. Our appetizer smothered fries were great and they were HOT and fresh. I got the Cajun hot & garlic wings, and they were majorly crispy. The waitress was kind enough to wash our baby's binky that had fallen, too. 10/10 would go back again. I would go back there again and order everything on the menu even if they served it to us in a well worn shoe.
Outstanding food and service. Perhaps the drinks are pricey. Not much open in the area. Great french onion soup and desserts. Pot roast is top! Generous portions. It was only 7:30 pm but I would return in a heartbeat.
Great night, dinner with French onion soup, soup was delicious. Stayed for band and drinks. Pina very good!
I hold Shawbucks/The Press Room near and dear to my heart because this place was a big part of my young adulthood and life as such an avid music fan and foodie. This is THE place to see bands within an hour radius. Through the years they've consistently had the best lineups and best dance area. I'm updating my review because what was already an AMAZING place has gotten even better throughout the years. I last reviewed them in 2016 and have had 25 Yelp confirmed check ins since. I've been to Shawbucks/The Press Room AT LEAST 60 times since 2016, but I'm bad about remembering to check in on Yelp. Let's start with the amazing owner who treats bands and staff so well. He genuinely loves and takes pride in his business which shows. Bartenders hustle! Wednesday before Thanksgiving We Speak Canadian had the bars, tables, and dance floor PACKED shoulder to shoulder. Bartenders were ontop of it and wait times were very reasonable. No favoritism at all, everyone was served promptly. Even bouncers and the owner helped clear tables, the stage edge, bathrooms, and random places people leave empty drinks. This is a safe place to see bands that tolerates zero nonsense. Security are very active and present. IDs are checked and rules are enforced to maintain a safe comfortable venue. Even metal shows aren't too rowdy. Food is absolutely amazing! Best mushroom gravy meatloaf of my life. Amazing sword fish filet. Mind blowing risotto. Great wings with a great sauce selection. Solid chicken fingers/tenders. Fresh crisp salads. Great dressings. Perfectly made cocktails. Large beer selection. Friendly fast waitresses. Very clean place! No sticky bar floors, menus, or tables. I highly recommend them for food and going to see bands live! Side Note: I got teary eyed when DJ Fish's daughter got on stage to announce We Speak Canadian. RIP DJ Fish, he was such a big part of Jamestown's music scene and a wonderful man. It was cool to have him honored like that. He's missed.
Great food wonderful service and friendly staff Fantastic prices A definite must when in the area
Sports bar atmosphere - food was excellent - salad was well made with tasty dressing ... and a good helping of both. Entree was plated nicely ... salad served on chilled plate and entree on warmed. Silverware is good quality and napkins are some of the highest quality available. Service was ftiendly and top notch. Honestly, everything was several steps above what you'd expect from a sports bar! Kudos!!! A nice experience - I plan to return! Note: consider calling for reservations ... it's a busy place!
Listen. Let’s talk wings. I’m from Atlanta and had no clue wings could taste this good. I got the pan fried Long Island wings and when I saw them I didn’t know if I wanted to make sweet sweet love to them or eat them. After a quick internal debate, I decided I’d eat them to not scare the other patrons away, but I did sneak one out in my pocket for later if you know what I mean. Literally the best wings I’ve ever eaten. Crunchy tangy, perfection. Washed them down with a couple of Southern Tier’s and I was set. Bartender was awesome, waitress was awesome, atmosphere was great. Nothing to complain about here. Get these wings and thank me later!
I got the butter garlic boneless wings and they were delicious! My friends and I really enjoyed the food, people, music, and environment!
We had an amazing time and food was delicious. The pork chop was one of the best I have ever had. Thanks for the great time.
Great fish fry with an old friend Big enough to split. Very polite and entertaining staff would recommend
Went with another couple it was packed we got right in and where servered in a very short time .. Food was AWESOME. ,,,Had the bone in pork chop with bacon jam and Real mashed potatoes.. So good. We also had the fish fry which was picture perfect and was cooked perfect. . Great friendly staff and a real value for the money. Which I thought was very reasonable for the quality of food .. Hugh servings..
I'm in town for the Lucille Ball Festival and enjoyed an outstanding meal (Upside Down Meatloaf) with great atmosphere and very attentive staff. 10/10
Walked over from our hotel to have a late dinner The waitress Debra was so friendly and helpful Food was really good and plentiful. Had mussels to start that were probably the best taste combination we have had. Followed by Caesar salad that was devine. Had wing special but no room to eat. A couple of bites and they were very meaty and cooked perfectly. Highly recommended and hope to be back whenever we return to Jamestown.
I had the seafood pasta as a special treat and it was amazing. We went in around 9pm while there were only a few people since it's after usual dinner and before the night life aspect gets busy so it was very quiet.
Had a great experience at Shawbucks in Jamestown! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the food was delicious at very reasonable prices. A big shoutout to Natalia—she was an outstanding server! Friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right throughout the meal. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Shawbucks is a great spot to grab a bite and enjoy good service.
Our son had a Track meet in Falconer. We stopped in for a bite to eat. Our server Debra was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu and any questions we had. I ordered the chicken wings pan fried with the long island sauce. Oh my, they were so good. My husband had the fish fry. We would definitely come back.
Wide open pub with table seating and bar. We ate at bar and had conversations with locals. Quite enough. Walking distance within downtown. Meal was great-not typical pub fried food. Highly recommend.
The pasta Bolognese is amazing! I love the creamy white balsamic dressing on my salad. Fish fry is great too!
We were in the Jamestown area for the weekend. Stopped in for a casual dinner and were pleasantly Surprised by the friendliness, great food and kudos to our server Debbie. Would recommend.
Great place to stop while in Jamestown. Highly recommend their pan fried wings. 4 stars only because I was let down with no draft beer and I wish they had a spicier than "hot" wings sauce. Just being picky, great place.
Convenient restaurant/bar near the Jamestown Ice Arena and its neighboring hotel. Drinks are reasonable, and the food gets the job done. Staff is friendly, and the service good. Overall, it's not bad, and it may be a good place to have smaller events.
Met with friends for drinks and light fare. They are preparing an outdoor patio for summer patrons right across from the Comedy Center--should be a great addition.
A very good meal with good service by waitress. Only problem was several very loud customers at the bar .. as there's no sound barrier between the bar area and the dining area..I would suggest a glass barrier between the areas to minimise unwanted boozy talk..not everyone wants to hear/share in loud, boastful 'bonhomie' while enjoying an evening dining out. The restaurant is centrally located which is great when staying at accommodations in the city while touring.
Stopped here with a group of six while on vacation. We made reservations and glad we did. This place gets busy. Our waitress Debbie was fantastic, and it seemed she was taking care of the entire place by herself!! Food was great, plenty of it, and prices are crazy reasonable. They have a kids menu, and the night we were there, a dj was featured at 9 pm. We didn't have room for dessert sadly but those looked great too. Steaks were good, pasta was delish with lots of garlic and a nice variety of veggies, relaxed atmosphere, and lots of parking on street or in the lot. Will be back
Good service, friendly. We just had sandwiches and boneless wings (snackies). Cool place.
Late night for us getting into town because of the construction on the highway. I was glad to see they served by the bat after the restaurant was closed. Great service
We were in town for a hockey tournament and this was across the street from the rink. They had karaoke one night and a band the second. The space is large and suitable for what it is. There was some dancing etc. The main bar was busy both nights (upper), so we found it to be quicker at the lower bar (to get service). At night they do keep it dark. It is more of a club than a restaurant. We did get some late night food. The pizza is small and seem to be on a garlic crust. The wings (Cajun) were above average. Given the other options in the area (Especially late night), this was a solid choice.
Just stopping by Jamestown and went here as it was across from my hotel. Went on a Tuesday night and it was not too busy considering it was six thirty. You need to wait to be seated but the nice hostess said I could take a seat at the bar right away. The friendly barkeep got me a menu and started pouring my drink lickedy split, a damn decent gin and tonic. I ordered the calamari and it came out fast considering there were several groups of two to four people all getting dinner. Calamari was good. Nice and crispy with some aioli and marinara for dipping. All told the bill was more than fair for an appetizer and two cocktails. Under twenty five bucks!
A nice place to have a drink or some food. They have good entertainment usually too. We went to see the band Afraid of Human perform. There was quite a large crowd and the bars were definitely understaffed. Prices for drinks are kind of pricey. It is a nice venue for small intimate shows though.
Love this place food tasted amazing but my steak severely over cooked asked for rare came out medium well both times I was here other then that 10/10
Really underwhelmed but I don't think people should come here for food. The bruschetta was good but you feel like you at a night club turned restaurant by day.
good place to get good food a good entertainment but the bartenders switches their prices around when you're buzzed up LOL seen it a few times
Good food ,slow service
We held our 55th class reunion there. We were promised the entire place as a private event. The restaurant double booked the place with another reunion. The fancy hors d' oruvre were skimpy for the prices we paid. Certainly not adequate for our group. We had to fight at the bar to get a drink order as there were walk-ins from the comedy festival. We had to tell strangers that the food was for our event as these people who were from the other reunion kept coming over to take our food.
We ordered 2 hamburgers, a Pepsi & a grey goose martini. Checked over the bill & was charged $13.25 for the martini!! The bill stated the martini was a double, which it wasn't, double not ordered & hardly filled the glass. The waitress said that it had to read double on the bill because of the input into the computer??? We paid our bill, but would never return or recommend.
Food was really bad, over cooked Italian rice balls, boneless wings over cooked dry, hard and too much spicy. They need new kitchen staff.
Went to dinner here last week and had about an average experience. For starters, I want to start with our server. I forget her name, however, she was a really good server. In fact, she was the only server on the floor. While we were there our server had 3 tables with 6+ ppl each, and 3 two tops, which is a lot for one server. She did her best and she did a pretty good job at that, so kudos to her! There's only so much one person can do. Secondly, I got a med/well bacon chz burger, which was right on point for the temp, I was happy! My fiance got the chicken delicious dish which was basically chicken alfredo. My only complaint abt that dish is they are charging $22 for the dish and are using frozen chicken. In my eyes that's unacceptable. I know shawbucks is a popular place, it's just sad to see that they could do so much better. All in all, Shawbucks is a decent place, I would go back.
No need to go! There wasn't a live band, but the music was up so loud that I had to scream at the top of my lungs to be heard by the bartender and by the people I was there with. How deaf are the employees that the music needs to be that loud? Not like anyone was dancing! And for a Saturday night, there was maybe 20 people in the whole place. I think the world would be better off without this bar. Also, a well gin and tonic (not name brand) is $6.50 when literally every place else in town is $4.00 for well, $5-6 for top shelf. Absolutely NOT the place to go in Jamestown!
Been going there for years and have always had a good experience. Checked online menu tonight before going there for current prices and it showed $19.99 for 18 wings. Went there, ordered 18 wings and was told they only come 5, 10, or 20??? Ordered 20. Got the check...$28.99 for 20 wings?! If 18 were only $20, how the hell is it $8 more for only 2 more wings?? Especially when wing prices are selling retail for MUCH less than pre covid levels. Probably won't go there again... especially since they don't even have Southern Tier brewing 2X stout any more that they always used to have and the brewery in only a few miles away!
I have had the potrost before it was delicious. But tonight me and a friend ordered it. It was like prison food.the meat was all shredded and on top of a pile of mashed potatoes. Thear was 4 tiny carrots that looked like they wear the bottom of a bag that was old and dried out mabby to tiny onions and that was it .so disappointed won't be go back any time soon 😪
Pretty bummed about this experience. Came here as it was advertised on Google as a sports bar, and while there were 10+ NCAA football games going on, 3 of the TV's were replaying an old Sabres game... Also, there are no beer taps here, only bottles and cans. I'm sorry for saying, but I don't get it? Nice people though.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We reserved a table for our Christmas party and the service was horrible!! The food was NOT AT ALL worth the money. The owner came over to out table and told us she didn't care if we ever came back. I am appalled at the owners actions and all 8 of the people at my table will NEVER come back.
We ordered 2 simple mixed drinks (rum & coke and vodka & cranberry). We were given tiny glasses filled with ice. We had to pay $11.50. That's $5.75 each for basically a tiny cup of ice. If that horrible price wasn't enough, for the refills we told them 1/2 the ice. So this time the bartender said they were $12, but then changed his mind and said they were $13. So 2 tiny glasses, 1/2 ice were now $7.50 each. Obviously we will never return and most certainly do NOT recommend.
Can’t really give this place even one star… walked in and waiter passed us three times without offering to seat us- so we left. Went to El Jarocho and had a fabulous dinner!
Staff is rude. Definitely a place where if they know you they wait on you , if not you will stand waiting for someone to help you as workers just walk by including manager. Many other places around that has better food and service. Dont go here.
The service was very slow. Over 10 minutes just to get a glass of water. I ordered a beef on weck, should be easy. Beef was dry and tough. Roll was stale. No a’jus. Fries were freezer burnt, cold and tasteless.
We went there for dinner because it was easy ( right across from our hotel) The bartender walked by us with food and said someone would be right out….. he walked by us three more times …. After waiting there for a while we left the restaurant. Found the Mexican restaurant around the corner and felt instantly welcomed.
Had the French Dip. Was the worst I have ever had. Au jus tasted as if an entire shaker of salt was emptied in it. The beef was likewise much too salty. Even the French fries were soggy. Would have sent it all back but it was takeout. Friends enjoyed their meals but neither had French Dip.
My lovely bride and I were here last night, we wanted to try something new. Well I was not impressed with the service nor the very salty food. I had the meatloaf and a side of risotto.. Everything was way to salty. My wife had the salmon and hers also way to salty..The waitress, brought us our food, and never came back to check on us or see if we needed anything until it was time for the bill, and even then we took our bill to the bar to pay.. I would not recommend eating here..( side note). We watched another waitress hand out water glasses and her fingers grabbing the glass from the top ring, definitely use a straw if you're going to order a drink.....
Place sucks so boring ! Need more upbeat people and better music! Not up to standards. I am high class and expect the same
