We had an amazing dinner experience. The dishes were absolutely spectacular—full of flavor and beautifully presented. But what truly made the night unforgettable was the service from Laura, our server. She was incredibly attentive, kind, and knew the menu inside and out. She recommended drinks that paired perfectly with our food, and every dish she suggested was spot on. I would definitely come back not only for the food but for the outstanding service she provided. We were thrilled to stumble upon this delicious gem when traveling through Katy, from Houston to San Antonio! Everything, food, atmosphere, service was exceptional! My husband and I are from Arizona, where Chimichangas abound!! When we moved to Texas, we were sad to find that Chimichangas are very difficult, if not impossible, to find! Most Mexican restaurants don't even know what you are talking about if you ask for one. Then enter Jimmy Changas!! Their Chimichangas are amazing!! The salsa and verde sauce served with the chips was a pleasant surprise!! It brings a whole new meaning to the phrase, "double dipping"!! The inside atmosphere is the perfect combination of modern whimsy and kitsch. Highly recommend this Mexican Foodie Restaurant!!

Above average! Family friendly and plenty of seating. Service was excellent. When families visit restaurants management must remember service is our 1st impression. The food was great from order to delivery about 10-15 minutes. The Jimmy Changa rotisserie chicken was tender and the quesadillas were delicious. No complaints and of course no meal is complete without dessert the sopapillas were perfect not greasy nice and fluffy!

The rare 5 star makes an appearance. Ive been coming here on and off for years. It's not convenient for me but man will I continue to drive out of my way to eat here. It's a chain. We love Jimmy Changas! We’ve been eating at this location for about 4 years and have come to know some of the staff. Our favorite is Roger who has become like family to us and always provides us with exceptional service and is always very pleasant and professional! Hands down the best customer service we’ve ever received at any restaurant! The food is outstanding! Really love the ahi tuna tacos. We get the ginger cilantro dressing on them and it’s a delicious combo!! If you like fajitas try the El Capitan which is one of the secret menu items! You won’t be disappointed!!

We had a very pleasant dinner tonight at Jimmy Changas. We had the pulled pork quesadillas that were delicious and were stuffed full. We also had the Rio Grande combination plate, which came with a fresh taco with seasoned meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, a cheese enchilada, very tender fajitas, tortillas, beans, rice and queso. The Ribeye Street Tacos were fabulous. The meat melted in your mouth. The service was quick and attentive. We definitely recommend Terrell and his group!

The restaurant was great and clean. The smell when you first walk in is the best and the food is even better! I ordered a chicken fajita bowl and I rate 10/10 it was flavorful! They also have free soft serve ice cream at the front! Though.. I don’t recommend sitting outside because there are bees and birds that try to get to your food.

I haven't been at this location but twice. The food was great. The 2nd time still great. Our server Javier was very attentive, each time he came by he made sure to ask if we needed anything. Kept our drinks refreshed and the food came put well on time fresh and hot. 🤗🤗

We had to add another table because we were not able to fit at the 2 provided but otherwise great experience and what I am use to. Great job Or food was off this visit, but that is not the norm, so still giving 4 stars. We had the chicken enchiladas with pablano sauce. Also the marisco enchiladas with chicken added. Ordered the Prickly Rita for the first time and it tasted like soap so won't be ordering again. Again not sure if it was bc the food was off this visit or if this is the norm. Food has always been great but if this was our first time here we probably wouldn't go back. Service was great and she was very polite and prompt. Hope this was a one off on the food.

This was my first time visiting this place. I thought this was one of those places where food was tasteless and cheap. I was wrong. Their food is fresh and delicious. Our waitress was superb! And the ambiance is another level. Their concept is a Mexican (Tex-Mex) restaurant, but they paid attention to the details and did a great job of not appropriating or insulting the Mexican culture. I ordered the Pollo Marisco ($17.99), and it was delicious. I must say this: I regret ordering this plate because it had a LOT!! Grease and cheese. That makes it delicious, but I left thinking about the calories, etc. Again, it is delicious. Great dish presentation and handmade tortillas! I definitely would return to JC and recommend it to friends.

It gets pretty busy on Friday and Saturday nights for dinner but I was seated quickly with a very warm, welcoming greeting from our server Farren who was fantastic. I've never had bad food or service here. The drinks are really delicious as well. There is a bar for Adults, nice dining environment, a kids playground outside on the patio with seating and a free ice cream machine to make a cone after you eat. Other dessert options on the menu if you still have room. Always clean in the entire restaurant and a consistently great experience.

My new favorite Mexican restaurant in Katy. The service here is the best in town hands down. Our waiter, Edgar, was super helpful and always checking on us as was other staff. And the food was tasty. I had a fajita beef chimichanga which was stuffed with cheese and skirt steak. My wife had the grilled chicken and daughter had cheese enchiladas. All the food was tasty, and with attentive service and good prices you can't beat it. Great job Jimmy Changas! Will be back for more.

Jimmy Changas is our favorite restaurant to go to with our grand kids when we visit them in Katy! Once again, we had an AMAZING experience! I do want to highlight my entree! I chose the Grilled Shrimp Salad with the pineapple mango tostada, cilantro vinaigrette dressing. Perfect flavor combo! It was DELICIOUS!!

Stayed at a hotel next door and walked over with grandkids. Caden was our server, and he was AMAZING! Ask for him if you want great service, I'm sure the others are good too, but he was excellent! The food was great and didn't take long. Kids just wanted nuggets but they lived them just as much, especially because some were in the shape of hearts. I had a chunky monkey drink with Marisco bowl and loved it. Hubby had enchiladas with a margarita and enjoyed it too. Great family-friendly place!

Good local spot to have dinner at and if you have a energetic child like mine you can dine outside where they have a small play area as a distraction. Also, no big deal but one of the plates that was served had a fairly decent chip in it, see photo attached.

Loved the free chips and salsa. Great place with little kids. It has shaded outdoor playground, big space and looks clean. We can eat and watch the kids at the same time. Food is good and server is attentive. Will definitely comeback. **Kids menu comes with ice cream, they love it.

We eat here so often that some of the staff remembers us when we walk in haha. Always great service, good food, great margaritas. Only negative has nothing to do with the restaurant itself but with parents that don’t control their kids running around acting a fool. So don’t hold it against the staff. Jefferson was an amazing server. We had the combo fajitas with corn and flour tortillas. The fajitas were very tender and flavorful. The margaritas were also well prepared!

My family and I went for my dad’s birthday for dinner and had a very nice experience! Our server was kind and our food came out quickly, I really enjoyed my burger there and even though I couldn’t finish it, it still tasted real good. I didn’t really like the BBQ sauce that came with it but that’s a personal preference. Other than that, I recommend trying this place out if you’re in the mood for tex-mex.

The waiter Richard was very polite and knowledgeable . He recommend the Mexican style Enchiladas and wow the best I ever tasted in a long time . We had an awesome experience! We’ve been twice as we visit family in Katy! It is a great restaurant with great food and awesome service. We love coming here to spend time with our family and enjoy the food. We specifically loved our waiter Elvis! He was amazing to us and only made our experience so much better!

I'm lowkey mad I enjoyed a chain restaurant so much! This chimichanga was the best I ever had! I substituted chicken for the steak and loved it! They make their own tortillas, which is always a win! My server was very attentive and was able to get me in and out, as I was running to a meeting. I'll definitely be back when I return to Houston!

This is a great place for families of all ages, as well as date night. On the outside patio is a play area for children to enjoy and be loud and rambunctious, without knocking your plates off the table😁 Free ice cream makes dessert easy, while the Changa Platter makes appetizers easy. My favorite, the Vera Cruz. Often imitated, never duplicated. Attentive, helpful and friendly staff make you feel as if you have the place to yourself. Sopapillas are a hit with everyone. Plenty of parking.

I ordered online for pick up the next day. The check in was easy, they were early and everything was packed, they didn't miss a thing! This order was for a client and its perfect with so many choices. It's called a snack tray, but it was a great choice for an office lunch. Aubrey brought it to my car and went over everything with me. Includes beef quesadillas, chicken eggrolls, tamales, stuffed peppers & more. Lots of flavor in everything. Jimmy Changas Katy just catered my wedding. They were extremely professional and service was AMAZING. They were the only vendor that gave me no stress. They took care of everything and were so affordable it’s crazy. They even made special enchiladas for us that we get every date night. It's always great tasting food at Jimmy Changas, never had a meal that is cold, always nice and hot, drinks are delicious always. Service can be a hit or miss, we've had a few servers who are a bit slower than usual, usually we order our drinks before we are halfway through, just because we know an average alcoholic drink takes about 8-10 minutes to arrive at our table. However we go once a month and never are in a hurry, so we patiently wait for our drinks. The environment is always friendly, staff is pleasant and in 3 years we have never had a bad experience in this location. Plus free ice-cream treat on your way out seals the deal. Overall 9/10. 🫶

Yummy Tex Mex. The stuffed avocado was phenomenal. The Bahama mama mango drink was tasty, and the environment was great. There’s a playground for the kids to play on, too! The queso was delicious, and our service was great. We had a party of 18 that one waiter was juggling, and he did a phenomenal job!

Food is really good here. Chips and salsa are spot on. Service is good for how busy it normally is. Kids outdoor play area is good distraction for them while you wait. Only drawback we have found is the outdoor seating. It is first come first serve and you seat yourself. Based on the honor system. Some people think they can stroll right up and grab a table people are leaving even when others are sitting around waiting and have been for 40 minute as or more. They need a system to track this better and keep people honest.

I wanted to brag about her, so I was a little disappointed when she forgot our silverware (which she did address immediately). Overall, it was a really good meal and a very pleasant experience.

I used to come here pretty often, but haven't been in awhile. It gets busy after 5pm on a weekend starting Friday, so usual time for me was lunch during the week. Decided to come in for a quick early dinner and we liked the food, drinks, and our server. The restaurant is broad and spread out, there is a high table/bar area, outdoor seating, indoor tables and booths. For Tex-Mex, Mexican friends of mine give thumbs up to the quality of food 👌🏼 Only thing is if we can have the Margheritas 🧉 in the same size, same cup, we would be drinking more of it.

Food and services were very good for our large group (16) but they were less than cooperative when we tried to give them heads up for our arrival . They started that they had a policy against reservations and could not ensure that they would have space for us. Told her perhaps to book something with the corporate office. The organizer pushed ahead with the event (where I would not have). We arrived at a nearly empty restaurant on a Tuesday night and had a good time. With all the places closing their doors you would have thought we would be greeted with open arms when we called ahead.

This was my first time going yo Jimmy Changas. When first walking in, it was pretty and welcoming. The waitress Amelia was very sweet, and helpful. The food was good, but the Taquito was AMAZING! The Sopapillas were really good as well. The only reason I gave a 4 star was because the wait time was sooooo long. It felt like it took forever. We got there around 4:30 and left at 7:15. The last approx. 30 mins were us just talking but rest of the time was waiting whether is was on drinks or food. Way to long, but would try again. We could have just gone on an off time.

The restaurant serves high-quality Mexican cuisine. The atmosphere is cozy, with beautiful decorations and plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. There's even a small play area for kids. The food is served quickly, and the staff is enthusiastic and attentive. Plus, you get free ice cream after your meal! I ordered the kids' crispy taco, Pollo Marisco, and Ribeye Street Taco. The portions were just right, and the food was quite delicious.

While in the area shopping, this establishment was highly recommended on google. So why not try it. I had the street tacos (ribeye) along with a perfect patron frozen margarita. My server was Val and she was great. I learned about the awards program they have. I highly recommend registering if you eat here often or Gringos (sister establishment). I'm always at gringos and never knew of this program. My food was good nice and hot. I'm so in love with the green avocado salsa. It pairs so well with red meat. The refried beans was so flavorful, I could eat them allday. I'll definitely return when in the area.

For a TexMex restaurant it was ok, better than Lupe Tortilla but not by much. Food is a little pricey, rice was overcooked, beans were bland and nachos were soggy. Service was ok, our waiter kept forgetting our utensils, ran out of water on serval occasions but that was the best of all three. Atmosphere for a TexMex restaurant you would expect some TexMex music but like Lupe Tortilla it just was not gonna happen. Would we return? NO I guess onto to the next restaurant in the Houston area.

If you have allergies, skip this location. I have a milk allergy. I read menus carefully and still ask if dairy is in or on the dish. I ordered pork pastor bowl. I specifically asked about cheese. Server stated that there was not. When our meal was served, there was cheese on my dish. I handed the dish back and politely stated that I'm allergic to milk and there was cheese. The person who brought the food from the kitchen took it to the server who said that he'd send it back. No apology. My family finishes their meals. We pay the check. The server tells me that it's almost finished. I asked for it to go as my family had finished their meals. He said no problem. 10 minutes later...30 minutes after sending the dish back, I received the dish to go. No apology. No comp for our wait. Other locations have been very attentive to this detail. Not impressed.

Don’t get me wrong. The food is just fine here. Nothing amazing. Nothing horrible but with so many Mexican food restaurants in the area there is no way I would wait for a table here. Had the fried avocado with chicken. Was ok. The avocado wasn’t really ready so it lacked some flavor. The sides were standard. Again. It’s not bad.

This place is ok. Honestly, I think this experience may be isolated. They were not busy but seemed extremely rushed and definitely treated the customers as such. The waiter would speak to us in passing, never truly checking on us and brought the check without asking if we wanted anything different or more. It was a weird experience. Overall, the atmosphere was cute and quaint. I enjoyed being able to watch the tortillas being made fresh. Food was hot, evenly seasoned and delicious. The only thing needing work is the service.

Even requesting something as simple as a sauce took several minutes to be fulfilled. In comparison, Gringos (which is owned by the same company) provides better service. I spent $72 on a family meal that did feed my family. Normally when I order the fajita bowl casserole the pan is so full it leaks out before I get it home this time as you can see from the picture the gave me a thin layer of nothing. This is ridiculous how expensive this food was and my whole family could not eat. I would have done better going to chipotle. I definitely need a do over.

Food amazing, bartenders amazing, management suck!!! Wife and i walked from the hotel in the same damn parking lot to have dinner and watch football. 4….DRINKS into the game and we were told we couldn’t have any more drinks. Management said 4 drinks is the limit for everyone…. Don’t go here if you want to watch games and enjoy more than 4 drinks! Won’t be back!

As a Tex-Mex Member, it was disappointing experience today. We arrived at 3:50 p.m., only 10 minutes before their 4 p.m. Super Bowl closure, and the hostess seated us without clearly informing us the kitchen was about to close. The service felt rushed and unwelcoming, and we were basically told they wouldn’t be able to serve food. If you plan to close early for an event like the Super Bowl, communicate it clearly and consider creating special offers (like margarita specials) to turn it into a positive customer experience. Unfortunately, we ended up leaving and going to another restaurant. Better communication and creativity with promotions could make a big difference.
