I just recently came to la Marina and my bartender was the best! Mayra is an outstanding bartender here at la Marina! She is so friendly, attentive, and incredibly skilled. She crafts amazing drinks with precision. She has great energy and her service made the night even better. Highly recommend asking for her at the bar, definitely coming back soon!

Great food bar side service could be a little better but awesome food

Been coming here for years and never disappoints! Food and drinks are top notch! Everyone is very polite and welcoming. We ALWAYS sit in the first bar and when Mayra is the bartender everything is just 100x better, she is on top of everything, great service and great drinks!

This is an amazing place to come with the family and enjoy a good meal. The bar is fantastic! Mayra Villa is my favorite bartender she makes us incredible delicious cocktails, always remembering our favorite orders and making us feel right at home. Let me first start off with the bartender. Jonathan’s level of attention is on point. Delicious street tacos and the recommendation of drinks are much appreciated. Everything he made was fantastic. He definitely knows how to make all sorts of drinks. Highly recommend stopping by and have Jonathan at the bar attend to all your needs.

Food so good and filling! We've been coming here for years and love the remodel. Staff was excellent, friendly, checked on us often and got our order perfect. Pina colada on point, I always have one when I go. I also had the breaded chicken breast stuffed with grilled shrimp and Monterrey cheese, topped with a green sauce, maybe tomatilo, not spicy, and a little more Monterrey cheese.So good!

It was absolutely amazing! There is karaoke, with great Spanish songs that just take me back to my childhood in visiting Mexico. The food is so delicious, I definitely recommend the nachos with beef, they have beans and lots of cheese and each chips have their own perfect amount of cheese so that you don't have to worry about them not being evenly coated. The Mexican dish part of the menu that is separated from the all seafood dishes was so good, it had chicken, beef and shrimp, and let me tell you that shrimp was so good it was a shame they disappeared so quickly but there was still some chicken and beef. It comes with a separate plate of beans, rice, pico de gallo, avocado and sour cream. The margarita was so yummy, I recommend the mango-rita I absolutely loved it! Definitely will come again!

OMG where do I start....so I planned my wedding reception there during the Karoke time and it was better than any venue you would have rented in Dallas the servers were fun and engaging, prompt, and all of my family and friends had a great time. The Bartenders danced with us and made everyone feel welcome, it was clean and made my evening effortless! I would truley do it again for any other occassion. Ms. Judy was a jewel in helping me get arranged and quickly responded and answered all of my questions during my year of planning (bet she glad this is over😀) but we go here on regular nights to unwind just didnt expect the callibor of service I received for my wedding this day will never be forgotten O and the DJ Mr Oscar AMAZING..keep my family on the floor young n old #theGOAT..Thank you MARISCOS LA MARINA SEAFOOD N GRILL...THE CARR'S

Don’t sleep on this location! I didn’t have to wait long for my food! There was a live mariachi singer! And my food was delicious and hot!!! I received excellent service and had a great time treating myself and my daughter! (We did go when it was a bit slow)

This was my third time coming back and I still wasn’t able to try the Chargrilled Oysters. I did ask before trying to order them if they could explain to me how they are prepared and why I couldn’t get this item and the server continued to try to only offer me the raw oysters instead. I did enjoy my red salsa with chips. The salsa was very flavorful, however I couldn’t say the same for my other items. I ordered the Tostadas with shrimp which I will give a 4.5 out of 10 for that item. It was bland and just seemed like it was missing something. The service I would also have to say needs some help. I noticed that tables that came in after me were asked for their orders way before I was asked however I did also noticed that if you ordered alcohol you were interacted with very often. It took 12 minutes before my server came to take my main order and 18 minutes for my main course to come out. I ordered the Carne Asada which I will give it a 5.6 out of 10 but once again it was also bland along with the rice that came with it. It’s not a bad place to eat at I just feel that flavor is lacking for certain items on the menu. I also feel that some items the servers may need to go over a little more especially when a customer comes in to ask questions about something that they want. Today is 7-21-2023 I want to say that this place has done a terrific job of changing up the menu and making everything taste so amazing. The throwback Fridays are the best and the DJ plays all the hits that you can thing of. Let me tell you those $1.99 margaritas are nothing to play with. Definitely come out to get you one or two because honestly two will do the job. The ceviche is my favorite make sure you come get some of that as well.

Great experience! I had the fried whole catfish and bacon wrapped shrimp, and both were delicious. The catfish was crispy and well seasoned, and the shrimp were juicy with perfectly cooked bacon. Everything was hot, fresh, and full of flavor. I’ll definitely be back!

One of my favorite places to go. Good food and drinks, reasonable prices, and quick preparation time. I love their ceviche! I also love the tilapia... I always request that they take the head off for me because I don't want my food looking at me on my plate lol they always cut it off with no questions asked!

Me and my siblings went here and had a pretty great time enjoying live music on a Saturday night. The floor was never empty when the band was on and the DJ was having so much fun that it brought our mood up to his level. We will definitely go back for the atmosphere alone. Next time, I need to go on an empty stomach to get to try the food better. All Im able to honestly review is the drinks and atmosphere. And I give it an A for sure.

This is one of my favorite Mexican food places. I've never had bad food here. We come her often. Cesars taco plate, shrimp cocktail, flauta platter are all delicious! Rice & beans are good along with the green salsa they give you with the tacos. Love the music they play.

The Desoto community is lacking on good restaurants. This place was referred by a friend and despite the lackluster appeal on the outside, it was really nice inside. The food, drinks, and service was really good. There's quite a variety. I'll definitely go back.

They have a variety of events throughout the week with different atmospheres and their prices were very reasonable in my opinion, I would definitely visit again the next time I'm in the area.

I don't have the words in my vocabulary to describe how awesome this place is. I had the Molcajete Marinero, and my wife had the trio fajitas. The salsa they serve as an appetizer is warm and delicious. The molcajete was fantastic as was the fajitas. It was a little loud in there but the Cowboys were playing so that's to be expected. I liked the fact that the door stayed closed so they could all enjoy their drinks and the game while my wife and I could enjoy our peace and quiet. Everyone wins everyone is happy. The employees were very attentive and accommodating, and the food was SOOOOOO GOOD. The salsa served with the molcajete was spicy but had SOOOO much flavor. I don't like things that are that spicy usually, but this was different. This was how spicy should be. Legit the best Mexican food I've ever had. Thank you all. We'll be back..

Very beautiful and clean. Family friendly with three options on where to sit: a quiet room with a Loteria decoration, a karoke room with lots of seats, and a bar area with dim lights. Everything was a bit pricy but food came out quickly. Only downside was we had to flag down our waitress in order to get drinks, food, or the ticket but it was a busy Friday night.

So this was my 5th time here. I’m 100percent not a seafood eater at all and yet, I absolutely love the food and the drinks here! There is the bartender who I absolutely adore and I have no idea what her name is but she remembers me, my drink of choice. This time I got to witness a birthday party and I participated from afar! Which I have a video of. I actually found the place on a whim tired of going to the chain restaurants which one was packed the night we ran upon this place. Now I actually prefer this establishment OVER the chain Mexican food restaurants. Every single time I come here, the food is delish drinks are strong and it’s like we always sit down next to strangers at the bar but when we’re done, we leave with friends!! The very next time I go, which will be this week hopefully, I’m gonna get the bartender’s name and share it with you guys, along with more pics. Go try the food, have a drink or 2, sit on the patio, have interesting conversations, take a picture at the Photo Booth or have your whatever kind of celebration there. They will certainly accommodate whatever you need with a genuine smile and lovely atmosphere.

My parents took me here for my birthday and I loved it. Very nice atmosphere. The art work, decorations are absolutely gorgeous. Service was fast, our waitress was okay. A language barrier had us repeating our order numerous times. The food was delicious. I had the steak and chicken Fajitas and it they were very tasty, especially the steak. The only thing wrong with my order is my fajitas came with no cheese. The kids menu is pretty good. My 4 year old ate ALL of her fried fish and shrimp. The margarita was good and strong. I will definitely return to this restaurant

I look forward to coming back to enjoy this tasty food especially with the renovations they are making… there will be a stage for live music and I am here for it. The service was great. Be ready for a language barrier because the waitress speaks broken English. We ordered a chicken quesadilla and received beef. We didn’t notice until after biting into it. Luckily it was good and we didn’t have to send it back. The salsa comes out hot. There was no happy hour and the unfortunately I was not a fan of the frozen margarita. Love how they make their tortillas fresh in house. Disappointing that all the TVs were not on

It's a nice place however, I walked in an thought it was closed because no one was up front or in the bar. There was a food delivery guy inside who told me they were open. Next service continued this way until we had to flag down someone for the check. The food was ok we had enchiladas. Very basic.

First time I went was awful. I gave it a second attempt and it was great. First time the waitress couldn’t speak English which made it hard for her and myself to understand each other also my glass had hard Queso on it so I left. Went back a month later for the second time and set in the bar area. The Bartender lady was great and food was amazing. We spent $51 for to plates, and sweet tea. We had fish with shrimp soup, and whole fried catfish. We went on a Sunday around 2pm made it right before the crowd.

The food and service were great! The only thing that I would say is just beware and check your receipts, we got charged gratuity, which they do have a big sign upon entering but we were a party of 2, our check was well under $150, and i saw no live music. We were also charged a 3% fee which i am guessing is the credit card fee, but we paid cash and it was already included in our bill, it was only like a dollar so of course we didn’t say anything but if you are paying a bigger bill cash just check. Overall not mad about the gratuity being included since the service was excellent I just think it’s a little sneaky beware.

Oysters were small, not cleaned as well as they should be before served. Beer was cold. Had the shrimp cocktail , small what is expected to be in size but was good. Trio was onsite but only old school classic songs available. Live DJ/Karaoke Friday nights. Plenty of parking. Restrooms were clean. Good ambiance. Tables were spaced out. Plenty of seating at full bar as well.

Was invited by family for a pop up concert series and got a chance to try the food. We ordered bacon wrapped jalapeños and a Vuelve a la vida Coctail. The jalapeños were good just too spicy for my preference. The vuelve a la vida had shrimp and oysters and I believe pieces of scallops. It was decent and saw other things go on the menu I would like to try next visit. Overall good music and good atmosphere very lively.

Very expensive not just because the price in the menu also because they charge you extra for the tortillas, for the salsa the add you the 18% gratuity even if a party of 2 , they also charge you for paying with credit card, which this days everywhere you can pay with credit card , I order a steak and the charge me for the salsa and the tortillas!!! That supposed come with ., the meat in this plate was good but everything else was overcook and the tortillas cold , our waitress was new and this is a Mexican seafood place and we ask if the have crawfish ( because they are in season) and she was clueless, I almost finish my meet but the time she bring me the salsa , it was Sunday afternoon and the place was pretty empty, If you like live music, terrible service and overprice drinks. Also, if you only use cash this is a place for you . for us. We try it once but most definitely well not come back, after spending $100 for 2 people is not worth it

Salsa is served hot which I don't like. Waitress was good, music was too loud. Rice was good, refried beans were so so. Need more options for fish, only have tilapia, catfish and red snapper. Expect better options than cheap junk fish. French fries were so so.

I go there a lot for their ceviche, shrimp cocktail and especially the Palomas. The barter the last time I went. Didn't know how to make it and then argued with me about it. Tasted awful. Grapefruit soda and tequila and salt. Didn't drink it nor tipped him.

A little skeptical about the tortilla chips it had pieces ontop. I really hope they dont put other people's left over together. I got the super mariscada, that is for two people. We loved it, really good w lots of left overs. My kids both got chicken nuggets, they where terrible nuggets but the fries where really good. This is about the only place I know that charges kids drinks separate from the kids meal. Was charged 6.99 plus 2.** for their drinks. The waitress was super awkward and so was the host.

6.5/10 Portion size for price...$21 for fajitas... I ordered beef enchiladas with crema... they brought out one, and then I had to wait on the plate... overall, the place looks really nice with everything...I would work on the service a little bit more. Me my wife and our son and his fiance went here for late lunch. It was not good. Two of us got sick. Nobody finishes our meal. I can't recommend this place. The food was over cooked and chewy. Mine was flavorless.

This places is really nice, well decorated and the music is nice. They do have live music at a certain time that's cool, sounds great. The waitress are ready to take your order but later she didn't come back until our food came out. But I do give them that others are there to help you if your waitress is gone or maybe busy. We tried 4 different plates and well we didn't not see what the 5 stars are for maybe it's for the atmosphere and service but food was im sorry not there. Steak Asado was kinda hard and lots of fat parts so we didn't finish it. The nachos are just 3 half chalupas, I thought maybe they didn't get our order right. The new Birria taco plate yeah nothing special it was not to my liking I think they do much better at food trucks because this was not it. Those 3 plates i would give each 2 out 5. And our last plate was a seafood sampler the tostada was good, the shrimp cocktail was off that day we have had it before when it's good but that day it was off and also come with a fried fish and shrimp that was good so a 3 out of 5. The chips are good and the sauce is awesome that's a good 4 out of 5.

The mendoza was not very good, no flavor. Honestly tasted like tomato sauce. Tortillas were hard, chips were stale. Ordered a kids hamburger, I think it was under the heat lamp too long because the bread was hard in spots. My partner ordered the crab legs the claw wouldn't break right and the meat was stuck in the claw due to being overcooked. Not busy at all and service wasn't very tentative, ran out of our drink.

1st time here stopped for a late dinner. There were 4 of us who ordered all different plates. Two orders were wrong. Mine came out kinda cold. Service was ok. Deco and atmosphere was good. Can't say we will return anytime soon, unfortunately 😕

Female manager suggested that o e person in our was drunk, so they didn't save the entire party of 9. No inquiry, no talk, no nothing, just i think your drunk because you're louder than me. We've been to this place many of time but this female lead was disrespectful, dishonest and downright wrong. Hope we can get better service next time!!

Where to start as soon we arrived the hostess was unprofessional, rude. We ask to sit at a table y they sat us at the end of the restaurant in took them more than 10 minutes for someone to notice us. If took them 20 min to deliver our drinks, then another 10 minutes for someone to deliver chips I understand they were busy on a Saturday night, food was ok they could do better then it took them 45 minutes to deliver our food, NO ONE came to check on us if we need it anything refills or anything, food arrive they gave us the wrong order we didn't said anything we told the waitress that our orders were wrong she told us that what we order so we said ok. One of the manager came and talk to us and fix some of the problems. Ii had my meal, fried snapper, delivered. it was not seasoned at all. I added my own. I asked them to cut off the head and they didn't. I couldnt finish it with the head still on it. It came with fries. They were not seasoned either, and they were burnt. The rice was good though 😐

Our beers are on hechale. No salsa for chips. Legend has it they are still making our food. I do not recommend this place.

The service here was awlful. I ordered a Shrimp Tostada and told them I didn’t know the dish was cold and I didn’t want the dish. The manager on duty states their policy is only to take food back in the kitchen if it’s their mistake. Understood…no worries! I’m not going to argue at all about what great customer service looks like or even okay, but this display was less than an attempt to see if I wanted anything differently or to take the dish off as a courtesy. I understand it’s hard on everyone in a pandemic, but please do better in your customer service. The overall service not even mediocre.

My husband and I stopped for lunch. I ordered the lunch special 2 tacos rice and beans. He ask a different waitress because ours was nowhere to be found what a dish was. She spoke broken English and said papas she couldn't say what the enchiladas were he ordered it. It was potatos,salad, a cup of beans not refried, the enchiladas were onion and a crumbled cheese smothered in red sauce and a white crema and caso he ate it but he said it was not what he expected and we had an hour wait for our food service was terrible food was terrible just not a good experience

Horrible service, we got 3 meals one to go, but out the 3 meals one was not ok.. we ordered the ribeye and they serve us a small piece of thin meat more like a inside skirt we asked the manager to look at it and he said let me take it back to the kitchen comes back with the same meat and says chefs says its a 8 ounce and we can give you a discount... now we have a cold small piece of meat for 28 dollars smh... then let's talk about the waitress she only came to give us the check didn't ask if we needed anything or check on us... wasn't even aware of the meat incident.... save your money and dont come here Horrible service.

We put a deposit down to reserve Mariscos La Marina for our 20th High School Reunion. $1000 for Friday and $1000 for Saturday. We had planned the event with Judy Jasso, who volunteered to have our reunion there. We did a food and drink, discussed decorations, and how the set up was going to be. We made final preparations on the Tuesday before events. The day of the Friday event we find out literally 20 minutes before the event was supposed to start that it was canceled. Judy didn’t notify us of the cancellation, nor did the restaurant. We had to change the venue last minute, which caused chaos and confusion with our attendees. To add injury to insult Judy showed up to the event and said they had a gas leak and they fixed it and forgot to take the sign down. I asked her if we were good for the banquet on Saturday, she said yes we were.The next day, the committee members thought it would be best to go back to Mariscos La Marina to check on the venue and see if we were good for that day. When we arrived, there was no set up for the event. So we spoke with two managers and another employee who said the whole event for Friday and Saturday was canceled and that Judy made the flyer and put it up. We all tried to contact her in regard to the event but she would not answer the phone, mind you we put a $2000 deposit down for this event. Again, we had to find another venue last minute with 4 hours before the banquet began. Due to Judy’s lack of integrity, transparency, poor communication skills, and accountability it caused confusion and discord with attendees. We still to this day have not heard from Judy and the last thing I heard was that her phone service had been disconnected. She stills owes us back the $2000, but we aren’t upset, we just want the situation resolved.

Ordered on their website for delivery and they charged me for plates and only gave me à la carta portions. Manager never tried to talk to me when I drove up there. Bad management. Could do better with customer service for the price you pay there.

Me and wife thought we would try a new place, get theee start walking through the doors and get greeted by hostess who states only bar is open. We say okay that’s fine, we order the enchilada and quesabirria tacos, we found a bone or soemthing in our bean side and we deplaned to the waiter what we found and presented it, they brought another one but completely just ruined the appetite. Didn’t feel like finishing the rice or beans. Wife’s plate they burnt the tacos and they weren’t as good as what $18 felt like should be good. Terrible food. Waiter slaps us with a bill of $50 and has an automatic gratuity on it already for super loud music, as if we had a choice to listen to it. I explained to the waiter and the manager I felt like it shouldn’t be fair that their staff did not notify of the extra fees before we dined here, nor did they want to compensate with a discount or anything besides removing the beans from the plate. The manager Melisa heavy set employee brushed it off like there was nothing more she could do to accommodate the horrible first time experience and stated our bill was final. First and last time we will ever eat there and I see a few other reviews on here felt the same way. It doesn’t take much to go above and beyond especially when your guest find crap in their food. Poor management.

My experiences with this restaurant have consistently been negative, and the most recent situation was extremely frustrating. I placed an order online and was charged twice for it. When I went to pick up the order, I was told I needed to show an online receipt—but their own app does not provide one. Because of that, I was forced to pay again at the restaurant just to receive the food. Situations like this make it feel like customers are being overcharged with no accountability. Between this double charge and other past interactions I’ve had here, the overall experience has been very disappointing. Customers should not have to worry about being charged multiple times or paying again because of issues with the restaurant’s system. I hope the business takes situations like this seriously and improves the way they handle billing and customer concerns.

I visited this place last night and had a great time! Waitresses and service are top Notch..I had a 108.00 dollar tab...I tabbed out and everything was great..I noticed my drink had been accidentally thrown away...I advised the waitress and she was okay with giving me another half drink since that's all that was left...The manager Melissa heavy set woman with glasses came from the back abd advised they would not be giving me another drink because I watched the waitress throw my drink away...Obviously I was talking to the Waitresses and didnt realize she was throwing my drink away...This was the only sore spot of the night...The dismissive behavior of her was very appalling....Everyone else was GREAT! Thank to the waitress and the male host/manager...They were great...I ended up paying for another drink and then ended my night...

Order 12 oysters and they came out looking good as hell, but as I begin to eat one I bit a piece of shell, ok I spited it out no problem! Ate an another an geez a better shell. Told the bartender, she took the plate to the back cuz I wasn’t gonna keep eating it cuz I wasn’t gonna kill me myself! She comes back with the plate and Said her manager didn’t found no other shells in the oysters a they wasn’t gonna cancel them…so u tell me u took my plate back to the kitchen they played in my food n brought it back for me to try again! Even with me showing them the shell that I spit out on the napkin…‼️😡‼️😡‼️🚩🚩🚩🚩

Great food, great music. Aside from those things I wish I could say we had a problem-free experience. We received poor customer service from the point of us ordering our food at Mariscos La Marina Seafood Grill to the end of our visit. We had to ask for drink refills as we were not offered them even once, and we asked one of the waitresses for more chips for our chip & dip to which she agreed, but never came back to our table to bring them. We ended up asking the bartender who passed by and informed us that there’s a charge for more chip refills (usually free at most restaurants similar to this). We also experienced a long wait for our food and not once did any of the waitresses/waiters come by to ask if the food was okay or if we needed anything additional. The same waitress who initially took our orders & who we asked for more chips passed our table several times while assisting a table in front of us with a bigger party, giggling & talking with them, and never once looked our way despite us coming long before that party came in. We also waited a while for our receipt, and I made multiple attempts to wave over the same waitress mentioned earlier and even got up to approach her about it, to which she walked past me like I wasn’t there and eventually I caught up to her when she was trying to exit the bar. She ended up having a different waitress bring us our receipt and none of the waitresses/waiters even came by to follow up with us after payment, nor were we greeted as we were exiting the restaurant, just stared at by the staff. There was also a $13/$14 service fee added to our bill that we could not remove before payment, despite us desiring to not tip/tip very little due to the horrible customer service we received by this restaurant’s staff. This was my 2nd time eating at this establishment, to which I do not recall having such a displeasing experience the first time, but after this second visit we will not be returning to Mariscos La Marina Seafood Grill.
