Get the 20 wing combo every time and really like the flavors they offer. The fried pickles are some of the best and a must go to if you live in Leander
Best food and wings I have had, since moving to Leander. Support local businesses!!!!!!
My review would be too long if I wrote how I truly feel. The staff is fantastic, the chicken out of this world. Please just go here. The end.
I love this place. Lots of wing flavors for choose from and the fries are to die for!
This was our first time trying out this place and it didn't disappoint. Family owned and operated, the atmosphere was fun and inviting and the customer service was top notch. The lady that helped us said it was only her third week there, however, she fooled my wife and I, cause she knew her stuff and we thought maybe she was the owner...nope she's the mother of one of the owners and her granddaughter couldn't help but smile watching her grandma do her thang and receiving props from the wife and I. My wife and I went with wings and fries, she got lemon pepper and I got the spicy lemon pepper. The flavor was finger licking good (literally) and not overpowering with spiciness, taste so good, I wanted to slap my momma. The food is made fresh to order, so it comes out hotter than the Texas heat. Oh, let's not forget, they have the slushy machines filled with that liquid courage that tastes so good it will distract you long enough for the alcoholic ninja to sneak up on you and slap you silly and keep you coming back for more....and you can take them to go too, even by the gallon. Yes, this place is kid friendly as they also have the non alcoholic slushys for the little monsters we love so much. We will definitely be back again. The Thirsty Chicken has now been added to one of our favorite wing places to go. Sorry, the food didn't last long enough for a photoshoot.
Friendly staff, great environment with good music, and always great food and daiquiris. Best wings around hands down. Get em naked or in a bird bath (sauced), you can’t go wrong. Outdoor patio with 90s hip hop playing. Games available for adults and kids. Bring the family, have a birthday party, or just enjoy great night out.
Finally we were able try their chicken wings! When I tell you they were delicious... I mean absolutely DELICIOUS! Orders are placed inside the location and if you're dining in, grab table under their outdoor covered patio with multi televisions and fans. There is plenty of seating so you should have worry about it becoming overcrowded. I loved the decor! There was funny signage all around Now let's talk food... We decided to go with 20 piece wings which comes with there signature fries and fried pickle spears. Our four sauce choices: The Raging Rooster (Hot) The Twisted TailFeather (Spicy Lemon Pepper) The Dirty Bird (Spicy Garlic Parmesan) El Pollo Loco (Spicy Margarita) The sauces were amazing! If you enjoy something a little spicy try the El Pollo Loco. It can highly recommended and didn't disappoint. They do have options that aren't spicy if you have low tolerance. For drink they have variety of beverages to include non-alcoholic and alcoholic. Their daiquiris are the shining star! I ordered Flockaccino and it was really good! I highly recommend check them out if are ever in the area. It's great place grab some delicious food and drinks. Oh and did I mention they have board games!
This place was GREAT! Really cool local spot with friendly staff, tasty food, and cold 🥶 drinks. TONS of flavors of chicken AND daiquiris (non alcoholic as well). They also have beer, soda, etc. Unique flavors of wings and tenders are available, like hot cheeto (AMAZING). The fries are some of the best I've ever had. Great fried pickles and deserts. Can't wait to come back and try more!
We went to the Thirsty Chicken for dinner and it was amazing! I shared a “What the Flock” box and it was more than enough food for 2 people. The wings were perfectly cooked and all of the sauces and dips were great. I have to highly recommend the spicy garlic Parmesan sauce, it was the best wing sauce I’ve ever had! The fries are great (get the Cajun seasoning!) and I loved the pickle spear as well. It was a cold and rainy day, but the patio was cozy and had a large heater on. I’m looking forward to trying the daiquiris the next time I visit! I had no complaints, these were the best wings I’ve had in a very long time.
Food was 10/10, maybe a bit expensive but I know it’s locally owned so that’s probably why and the wings were a good size and tasted like never frozen quality meat. Service was great they were so friendly.
This place so fun love the food and patio. Went in last night before going to the bar Maggie’s next door and almost regretted leaving the fun patio. Sometimes the food takes a long time but I don’t mind I’m there to have a fun time and relax. I took away 1 star on the food for that reason only. Definitely a Leander favorite thirsty chicken.
I really enjoyed my first experience at The Thirsty Chicken! We ordered 20 wings with 4 different sauces and all of them tasted delicious. The wings were quite large and very juicy. The Cajun sidewinder fries were great and their dips were tasty too. We did not have any drinks there, but it is a fun atmosphere that I am sure would be the perfect place to sit back and relax with a margarita or daiquiri. They only have outdoor seating, but there is a covered porch area with heaters/air conditioners and TVs that make it comfortable whether it’s hot or cold outside. Overall, I highly recommend this place. Wings are usually very pricey, but these were a good value for the amount of food we received.
They do chicken in so many ways, its hard to order and if you drink alcohol the daquiris are top notch. Always a great time!
This is a great place for tenders, wings, and sandwiches! I had the tenders tossed in spicy garlic Parmesan and they were pretty much perfect. My order was made fresh and still came out pretty quickly. The seating is under a covered “soft curtained” patio which is fine for winter/spring but will be hot in the summer. The owner said they are hoping to have the patio enclosed and air conditioned in the near future. I will be back soon to introduce the wife and kids!
Are you even kidding me!? SO good - lemon pepper wings have me feeling like I'm in heaven. Never going to Wingstop again. Super cool vibes inside- although we just did an order pick up. Will def be back... a lot
Easily my favorite chicken joint in the area and my first choice if craving it, the daiquiris are a plus! Great choice of sauces I personally enjoy the new dirty bird (spicy garlic parm) the most but the quack quack (Asian heat) is good as well. I love their style of fries and goes really well with the plunge sauce (also one of my favorite sauces ever!!! Personally better than a certain sauce from a certain chicken tender franchise). I also love that they give you a fried pickle with your meal, you never really see that elsewhere! The Incredible Hulk is a powerful daiquiri and one will do the job, however the other options are pretty good.I got to meet the owners and family and they are great and just want everyone to have a great fun time at their restaurant. Sunday night they have a karaoke night and will have to check it out in the future. Glad this place is in the Leander area!!!
Let me start by saying I absolutely hate ordering wings to go. It’s never packaged well and it gets soggy. This is something I never have to worry about at The Thirsty Chicken!! Their wings and tenders stay warm, they don’t get soggy and they are just down right damn good. I’ve never dined in here, only to go and I absolutely can’t get enough!! Tonight I ordered the spicy lemon pepper and the spicy margarita flavors and they do not disappoint!! The Cajun fries are delicious as well. Pluckers and tumble 22 better watch out, they have nothing on the thirsty chicken!!
Hands down some of the best wings I've had in the Austin/Leander area. The Thirsty Chicken really delivers on flavor and crispy, juicy wings with a great selection of sauces that are seriously addictive. The Quack Quack is my go-to, but you can't go wrong with any of them. The vibe is chill, the staff is friendly, and it's an all-around solid spot for wing lovers. Definitely worth checking out, make sure to try all the dipping sauces!
WHEN I SAY THE CHICKEN OWES ME NOTHINNNNGGGGG. That's what I mean! The food was delicious, craveable and made FRESH MADE ORDER! I got the medium and the asian heat. All flats of course with house sauce and ranch . The pickle surprise was seasoned well ! Chef's kiss ! The staff was friendly and inviting. Customer service was on point . Lastly ,the atmosphere is a whole vibe ! Thanks for the jolly ranchers too!!!
We came here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon with 2 kids (5 & 7 years old) in tow at 4:44 PM. We came in a little overwhelmed by the menu and didn’t know what to order for our daughters and ourselves. Ginger was super sweet and broke down the menu for us. She helped guide us in ordering a fun chicken lunch with adult daiquiris & kid-friendly daiquiris. 😜 The food and drinks and outdoor dining ambiance were all so good and so much fun! Our family loved it! (Would imagine that bringing kids here is best when it’s an off hour and earlier in the day and before the evening rush).
Their food is awesome! Great place to stop for a drink and a quick bite with outdoors seating
I love coming to this place for their lunch special. Staff is amazing, personable, and friendly. The food never gets old… I literally could eat it every week. Their flavors are the best and the overall atmosphere is very inviting and unmatched!
So good! I absolutely love the daiquiris. So many flavor combinations and so many menu options. The environment was fun and had tons of outdoor seating with covered patio option as well. The music was great as well lots of good old school hip hop songs made it a cool vibe. I wasn’t around for the karaoke but I heard that’s a fun time there as well. One thing I did think was awesome was the wings came with a fried pickle not just a regular pickle. & the fries were rly good and unique which was cool. My ONLY complaint would be the wing sauces need to be a bit more flavorful, we tried 4 diff sauces and they were all pretty average; I’ll be back regardless for the drinks though. 🤪🐔
Alright, I should have given this place a review such a long time ago when my husband and I first started eating here. I blame this on the food coma this amazing place gives me lol. Their chicken has SUCH good flavor and blend of amazing spices. The breading on the chicken is *chef’s kiss*! The wings order comes with a fried pickle slice spear and spiral fries. This last week I had a chicken sandwich and I seriously haven’t stopped bringing it up this week to my husband. It was a spicy lemon pepper chicken sandwich and I literally told the chef “you better stop whatever you’re doing before you take all my money” before I left lol. The wing flavors we’ve tried are Twisted Tailfeather (spicy lemon pepper), The Kickin Chicken (Med Buffalo), and the Raging Rooster (Hot Buffalo). Their daiquiris are SO GOOD, my favorite is the orange creamsicle mix. Last but CERTAINLY not least, their staff is so much fun and so nice! They are so attentive and provide great customer service!
Best wing place around! The Garlic Parm is our all time favorite wing flavor! We also love the atmosphere and to sit on the patio with the kids and have a casual dinner, play some of the games they have, and watch sports.
Brand new chicken restraint in old Town Leander. Kinda has a Louisiana vibe. Dozens of flavored daiquiris available. Regular wings and breaded tenders, big thick curly fries. Large number of sauces and dips available. Very good flavor. Covered patio seating with some Televisions but no true indoor seating. Give it a try.
This place is so good. SO GOOD. I’m so glad we have this in Leander. I went there the first time and my order was lost so I left but they were so gracious about it and made up for it on my second trip. I got the Cauli tenders and they were out of this world. My sis got crispy naked and the garlic parm. Bomb! The ranch is homemade I think bc it’s so flavorful. So good!!!
This place is definitely a hidden gem! The chicken is crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside, the Bird Baths (wing sauce) are really good (I love the Buffalo Hot), and the fried pickles… whooooo!! Also, if you get a daiquiri, I suggest you start with a 16oz because they are pretty strong!
Art is amazing!! Some of the best customer service i have received in a while! He deserves a raise for real. I dont know what yall pay him but its seriously not enough. I was having trouble with uber and app delivery systems which i know is not his area of expertise or job to help me with but he did anyways and helped me find a solution 🫶 i know that may seem simple but today its hard to find people in service jobs that will go out of their way to help you and not just say “contact uber” (which i did do and can say their customer service is horrible) or “idk what to tell you” etc. EASIEST 5 star ⭐️ I have to update my review sadly.. this place used to be my favorite wings place and idk what happened but all the sauces and dry rubs are changed and not the same and not as good. The lemon pepper is now awful, and the quack quack sauce is not even close to what it used to be, id say not even the same sauce. The wings are never crispy anymore and are almost like grilled chicken… i really hope they undo the changes they have made or if its a chef issue bring back the old chef. The first time they came out weird and in my experience “wrong” as they were not close to the normal experience and flavor i get there i figured this must be some kind of mistake, but its been 4-5 times now and im left disappointed every time which sucks when its so expensive. Used to not mind the price but i dont think ill return unless they fix these issues.
Great food and music. The sauces were great. My fiancé said they have the best lemon pepper of any restaurant she has been to. We did wish their Bad and Bouchie Brownie were more to it than just whip cream. And their churros are their fries with cinnamon sugar with a drizzle of caramel, chocolate, or strawberry.
Love this place! Great vibe, delicious food, and a homemade ranch that will make you slap yo’ mamma! Definitely foresee myself here more when it’s warm. The only drawback was the wings are a bit small for the price, but perfectly crispy and the flavors are wonderful! Also some of the best fried pickles ever!!
Food is made fresh to order so came out hot! These strips are massive. I was debating on 4 piece or 6 because I’m a big boy and so glad I got the 4 because it was plenty! I got hot lemon pepper which is like buffalo with lemon pepper. Asian flavor was my favorite. The chipotle aioli has a kick and so good. Ranch is homemade and very good too! Definitely will return. I posted a pic of the box because it’s like a sleeve over a thick paper boat just for your knowledge.
Everything there is delicious, no matter what you get you can’t go wrong!!
Named one of the top five wing spots in Austin, Texas and it lived up to its name. My ex-girlfriend got the wings and I got the chicken tenders with Cajun fries, they were out of this world amazing. The host even gave us free waters on the house. The atmosphere was more classic feel for Hip Hop and R&B which brought me back to my childhood days with the neighborhood kids. It was a great experience with the food, service, and atmosphere. It is a little warm along with breezy with the fans.
Arthur was amazing and helped with my delivery issue! He went above and beyond! I love Thirsty Chicken. The food is the best and thier staff is amazing 👏 🤩 😋 If you haven't tried them you absolutely have too!
I've been to this location more than a handful of times the food is great recently came in I've been trying to call for over an hour nobody answers showed up understanding people are busy the lady didn't attend to me until after about 10 minutes I mean you're standing in front of her and then says if your placing an order your weights over an hour and with the horrible attitude I looked at her and said well I tried calling you over an hour ago you don't answer she said I'm too busy to answer phone calls and rolls her eyes. I literally looked at her and said you should have told me this while I was waiting 10 minutes that's very rude and I called you over an hour which is very unprofessional she smart and said too bad I'm busy I literally walked out and I said horrible customer service and wanted to notate that when I walked in you could smell what seems to be maybe sewer or poop maybe they need to get that corrected the food is great but the service on that lady is absolutely horrible. UPDATE: THE LADY'S NAME IS FINLEY Went back and the experience was 100% better changed my review to 5 stars
First time tryin this place since I was in town and let me tell you these wings were so damn good! I got the twisted tail feather (spicy lemon pepper) and the kickin chicken (buffalo medium) for the wings. We also got fried cauliflower which was sauced with The raging rooster (buffalo hot) and it was so good! The fries were something new for me I had never gotten wings with those kinds of fries.
Ordered a ton of wings. All of them were cooked great, the sauces I chose were tasty with a nice amount of heat. When I went to pick it up, the staff was super friendly and nice and welcoming. Nearly convinced me to order a couple daiquiris to go. Did get a sample and it was great! 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
Excellent juicy chicken. Great sauces. Fried pickle and chips were amazing. Took a good while for the food to be delivered, but it was worth the experience. Kinda cool location too, if you enjoy dining outdoors. Very eclectic and exciting vibe.
The Thirsty Chicken – Review ✅ What’s Good: - Fun Atmosphere: Casual, lively spot with a laid-back vibe — great for groups or catching a game. - Solid Comfort Food: Known for crispy fried chicken, sandwiches, wings, and pub-style sides like fries and mac & cheese. - Drink Selection: Good range of local beers, cocktails, and happy hour deals. - Friendly Service: Staff often praised for being upbeat and attentive. ⚠️ Things to Note: - Can Get Noisy: Especially during weekends or events — not ideal for a quiet meal. - Wait Times: Service can slow down during peak hours. - Limited Healthy Options: Mostly indulgent food — don’t expect many light or low-cal dishes.
Really delicious fried chicken with a huge variety of flavoring options! The staff was very friendly and took us through the different options on the menu. We got the Cajun, garlic Parmesan, and medium buffalo. The Cajun was the standout to us! Also, the daiquiris were delicious and transported us back to NOLA. We will be back very soon!
Every experience I'd had with Thirsty Chicken has been phenomenal! from ordering for just myself, or for an event at the community I work for, the service and hospitality has always been top tier. The food is amazing as well! We received so much positive feedback from the residents we hosted this past weekend. Definitely worth the hype!
My family and I drove in from San Antonio about a month ago for both of our son’s football tournament. We always try to find local spots whenever we go out of town & came across this one. The staff were extremely friendly, service was quick, & the food was great! We got the garlic parmesan, spicy garlic parmesan and BBQ. We definitely recommend!
First time for me here. I was looking for wings, they were so good. I had the asian ? It was that sweet spicy mix that I look for. They also has a BBQ and a buffalo. I will return. This was lunch. I would like to go for dinner to see this downtown area in the evening. They looked so good I started eating before I thought to take a picture.
Fun place for some good and quality wings. Staff was friendly and helped us figure out what flavors to choose. The Hot Cheetos ones is slightly sweet, I didn’t particularly care for it. All the other flavors we tried were pretty good. Our daiquiri was strong and they had plenty of flavors to choose from. I just wish they had indoor setting.
I visited this spot with my boyfriend, and we were thoroughly impressed! The chicken wings were exceptional, and the drinks were absolutely delightful. We tried the frozen margarita, and it was a perfect 10 out of 10! I highly recommend this place for its delicious food and great atmosphere. We'll definitely be coming back!
Definitely a fun experience. Staff was friendly and very informative. I loved the theme and atmosphere of the restaurant and so many things to choose from. The tenders were filling and flavors like their hot cheetos, spicy garlic, and quack quack were so flavorful. Cajun fries are a must!! And if you enjoy a sweet cold treat the white Russian daiquiri is yummy.
It's one of the best chicken places I have ever been to! I can not say enough great things about this place. The chicken 🐔 was very juice, great size, and amazing flavor. Their homemade batters are the best I have ever tasted. My favorite is the big red. However, that one always goes fast! Their fries are homemade along with their fried pickels. Speaking of fried pickles, it's a must-have! They are very generously battered of their homemade flavor. The prices are totally worth it for the size of the chicken, flavor and taste of the food! Everyone here is extremely friendly and helpful on the menu. The chicken theme environment is very welcoming and relaxing. They have board games and tons of fans outside. It was really fun reading all the chicken signs. Overall, this is a must go to place for chicken! Every time I am in town I have to come here.
Got for to-go. Ordered way ahead of time with the system saying a 45 minute to a hour wait. Within 30 minutes we received a text saying it was ready. Glee gave it a little more time just in case. Upon getting the food it was still hot and fresh. Everything was great. Son was spot on, spice was perfect. I personally did not like the fried pickle but my kids did. So a big win win. Great job. We will be coming more often.
Why do y'all charge extra for plain boneless? I ordered a kids meal for my 1.5yr old and was charged $2 for no sauce. How does that make sense? The rest of the food was good. They also told my husband the order only included 2 drinks, when the receipt said 3.
Gave the new place a try today. Picked up a to-go order. Wings have good flavor and cooked perfectly. However, they are a little on the small side. Steak fries are really good. Fried pickle spear is excellent. Staff and owner were friendly as can be. Only small issue was they forgot my spicy ranch :( Other than that no real issues and would recommend.
A group of us stopped in for lunch on a Friday. You order and pay at the counter, then they announce your number when your order is ready and you pick it up. Choices include wings and chicken strips, sauces, fries, sodas, and adult beverages. Alcoholic drinks include canned beer and numerous frozen drinks including daiquiris, margaritas, and many more. Dining room is small but outdoor patio seating is available and extensive. They have heaters and clear plastic to enclose the outdoor area in case of weather. Restrooms are provided. Food is tasty and generous portions with friendly staff to help you. My tenders with BBQ sauce were delicious, tender, and not over dry/ overcooked. Chicken sandwich is substantial. Folks agreed that the food was good and they would recommend this place. Parking is available but minimal out front, expect to just find a spot on the street. Signage is very modest, only on the building itself....
Garlic Parm wings were really good. The owners were super nice and personable I ordered one make your own pineapple.mango daiquiri that was really good. Ordered 1 which gave me a nice little buzz. To cut some of the sweetness the waitress advised me to cut syrup in half which I am glad I did. Forgot to take pictures of wings. The atmosphere was very comfortable and inviting. It was a neighborhood pass and paint night which is a cool idea. I would definitely go again and participate in some of their other events .
Cute place. Shaded and exposed outdoor seating. A little warm on a 95 degree day, but so were the hot wings. The thick cut curly fries were unique and filling. They have alcohol and non-alcohol slushie drinks. The Cheetos wings cost a dollar extra per wing. I really didn't enjoy those that much because they were incredibly salty. Great concept though.
Placed a take out order but Loved the atmosphere and vibe at this place nonetheless. Sauce collection was great and the service was outstanding. Staff helped us make the choice since this is our first time visiting the place. Wings were good though some of the sauces were on the sweeter side for my taste. Pickles were crunchy and tangy. Packaging was good and They accommodated our request to pack sauce on the side which worked since trying out for first time.
I have mixed feelings. Food was excellent and they were really nice. But annoyed they forgot the kids drinks and have long waits (obviously during busy times). It wasn't worth the long wait to get the drink they forgot, but I also had a lot of food to take home.
The very small restaurant is outside dining only. Parking is 5 spots no handicap. Frozen Daiquiris. Chicken sandwich chicken wings chicken tenders. No Bleu cheese ranch or their sauce of mayo and Worcestershire. Which throw some Bleu cheese crumbles in ranch and you've got Bleu cheese. The very strange shaped potato wedges but they are really good. The medium buffalo sauce is very mild. Parm/ garlic wings are really tasty. No Cash. Credit or debit only. Which for old Leander I find it strange and not customer friendly.
Ordered the Thirsty Chicken through UberEats. Felt average to me overall. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t the best I’ve had. I got the Chick which was the 3 piece tender combo. I ordered the chicken as the naked hen, spicy original crispy skin. It wasn’t spicy at all. The chicken tenders also seemed a bit burnt to me which made parts of the chicken dry. The breading easily slipped off as well for both the chicken and the pickle. Parts of the chicken breading felt wet lastly. The chicken sadly was not the star. I enjoyed the pickle and the fries were really good. I liked how much potato they packed. Perhaps will try again and get a different menu item in the future. Still worth a try!
Went today with my family for an early dinner, got the hot Cheeto wings with fries and a strawberry daiquiri. The fries were so good! Crispy and seasoned well. The daiquiri was amazing as well, small pieces of strawberry which I love! However the hot cheeto wings were such a disappointment, loved the look of them but not the taste. Not a sweet and spicy type of person so they were definitely not good to me. Will go back though and try the buffalo wings next time.
We've been customers for over 1 yr. Little disappointed with our order. Wrong flavor/order. It was too far to drive back. We also requested extra crispy, but were not done. In addition , order 20piece and only got 1 drumstick from the full order. Most likely we won't return as customers.
Took 1 hr to get our food when it said it would take 20-25 minutes. I wish they would have been transparent and let me know how long it would take to have my food ready. The chicken came out burnt and my chicken was black with green sauce. You lost 2 customers and i’m out $60 for bad food. We used to love this place but the quality just went downhill. They get you drunk so you can’t taste how bad the food is. Good thing they took and hour because i sobered up and was able to actually taste the food. The service is fantastic but the rest is just terrible.
First time trying this place . I tried to talk my wife out of it due to the price . Just for my 10 piece wings with curly fries was 26.00 dollars . I've been craving some wings so She told me to just try it . She ordered some fried pickles . We made a online order . Was there at the exact time it said it'd be ready and it was . Score . She started on hers first and was shocked at how spicy the pickles 🥒 where . only being able to stomach a couple of them . I started on my curly fries . They looked like fresh cut spiral fries . Extremely soggy to where they where almost mush like in a pile . They where seasoned just right just not a crunch in site ... I headed off to my wings . Medium buffalo flavored . All the ones on the top where completely dry and I'm not a ranch or any other sauce dipper . I figured once I was able to get to the very lil sauce at the bottom it would get better but after the 3rd or 4th one I was searching for a drink due to all the salt . That's all I could taste . SALT ... On my 5th and 6th one I was able to get a lil sauce on them but by that time I was forcing myself to eat these almost 30.00 wings . I was able to get 6 in me and the other 4 I was going to save for tomorrow but I think I'm gonna send them to the trash with the fried pickles ... I hate leaving bad reviews esp for a local small restaurant but there most definitely needs to be some improvement in the food quality for the price ....
If all you care about is hanging on the patio and drinking ridiculously strong frozen drinks, this is your spot. The wings were small and over cooked. Flavor not very good, but I have had some amazing smoked wings, so I am biased. Fry’s were the best part of the meal and the frozen whatever I had was so strong, I was drunk after 1! And super expensive!!75$ for two people?? Then you want a 15/20/22% tip on top of that for just filling my order and me walking up to a window to get it? Won’t be back, not their fault, but with Austin and everything it has to offer 20 mins away, why come here? Staff was nice tho.
I’ve heard my friend hype up The Thirsty Chicken like it was the second coming of fried food, so I finally caved. Walked in ready to be wowed… and was greeted with all the enthusiasm of a teenager being forced to do chores. I mentioned I’d never been there before and was excited to try a few things, but honestly, it felt like they couldn’t care less. The vibe? Flatlined. Seriously, this place had all the energy of a hospital waiting room. Then came the real kicker 30 minutes for five wings. Five. I’m not sure if they were hand raising the chickens out back or just forgot we existed, but I was about ready to give up. When the wings finally arrived, it felt like they threw them into an oil pit and prayed for the best. They were overcooked and absolutely drowned in sauce like someone said, ‘Who needs balance when you’ve got buckets of sauce?’ And the fries? Cold. The chicken? Lukewarm, if we’re being optimistic. $17 for this? I’ve had better meals in the frozen aisle. Honestly, the Dr. Pepper was the MVP of the night, and I’m not even exaggerating. Because I have a habit of giving places a second chance (for some reason), we tried again. More wings. More waiting. This time, Parmesan wings that tasted like they were seasoned with sidewalk chalk. It was honestly impressive how bad it was. Look, I want to like this place. It’s got some fun flavors on the menu, but the execution is a total disaster. They need to figure out how to make food that doesn’t taste like a punishment and how to serve it in less time than it takes to binge-watch a TV show. Until then, save your $17 and hit up literally any other spot for wings. Areas of Opportunity: 1. Speed It Up, Already: 30 minutes for wings? Either they’re raising the chickens fresh or there’s a serious problem in the kitchen. Speed it up before customers start fleeing to faster options or bring a tent for the wait. 2. Learn to Cook, Please: Overcooked, soggy wings and cold fries? You’re running a restaurant, not a sad high school cafeteria. Step up the quality control or get out of the kitchen. 3. Care a Little: Your staff looks like they’d rather be anywhere else. Train them to actually engage with customers or at least fake it better. Enthusiasm goes a long way in keeping customers around.
ultimately, the food is great, but expectations are not set reasonably. a big part of this place is that it is not a “fast food” place, and the quality is evident. however, upon ordering a rooster meal (fifteen count wings and one serving of fries as pictured), we were told it was going to be a wait of 20-25 minutes. we waited almost 50 minutes for this food. the time is not the issue, i’m happy to wait for good food, but being told it’s going to be 25 minutes less of a wait than it was? definitely leaves a sour taste unfortunately. also, it’s an enjoyable place to sit outside, though more could be done to clean it up. the concrete flooring is extremely dirty and the tables feel similarly. being outside, such makes sense, though some kind of washing could be done more often to make it more comfortable. overall, i will probably still be coming back for the fries that you really can’t find anywhere else. ordering online might be a better recommendation, i will be trying that next. if you do want to go in and have a nice night, just mentally double the wait time!
This was a local staple for my friends and family for the past four years. The first few times it hit the spot and was on point but then quickly became hit or miss. One night it was amazing and the next it would be disappointing. You just never know what you're gonna get. The food and service has declined here recently. The last few times it's been consistently disappointing. We ordered wings, fries, and cauliflower wings on Saturday night. The fried pickle spears weren't great, soggy and tasted like they were cooked in old oil. Fries weren't as crisp and tasted like old oil as well. The batter on my cauliflower wings was halfway cooked, still raw batter in some parts. Also there was chicken mixed into my cauliflower. Unfortunately the last 2 times prior to this I had under cooked cauliflower wings as well. I loved this joint because I could get food and hang out with my non vegan friends and family. It's just not worth the price of the ticket anymore to continue to get food here with the Russian roulette of not knowing if it will be good or not. I think the wings for my husband and kid were ok but the fries and fried pickles were the same quality as mine. When my husband went in to pick up the order he was ignored by the girl at the counter who was stapling the silverware packets together. She looked up and asked if he needed anything and he said he was there to pick up his order. She said ok and went back to stapling without looking for his order or asking the kitchen for it. Finally 5 minutes later someone else came up and asked what he needed and got our order handed over to him. He said that's probably our last time ordering from here unfortunately.
Looks clean, fun and the employees seemed nice. Gotta say, it's a first for me to ever go to a restaurant that's not located in the middle of a massive city centre that doesn't accept cash. I might understand no cash for massive orders. But a completely cashless chicken restaurant? How bizarre. Wish I had known before I took the time to come down here to try it.
Absolutely terrible experience. We ordered 40 wings at 6:00 PM, and now it’s 8:10 PM—over two hours later—and still no food. There were only three other groups ahead of us, so this kind of wait makes no sense. I asked for an update 20 minutes ago and was told, “10 more minutes.” My wife followed up again after another 20 minutes, and they rolled their eyes and gave the same excuse—“3 people ahead of you, 10 minutes.” That’s a lie. There haven’t even been that many customers in here all night. This place is a mess—dirty, disorganized, and completely unprofessional. The daiquiris? Flat-out disgusting. Tastes like someone poured rubbing alcohol over melted popsicles. If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid this dump at all costs.
Used to be a big patron and been here quite a few times, really loved the food the first couple of times but as of late the quality took a deep dive. Always out of something, sometimes food will be extremely overcooked and has been soggy more than once, and takes a looong time to come out even when there is nobody else in the place nor a bunch of online orders. Customer service is also VERY hit or miss, they could be decent but more often than not you will always feel like an inconvenience. Definitely not what it used to be, give it a try if you want to gamble $30 for a subpar dining experience.
I had high hopes for these wings. The Rooster: 15 Piece Wings Buffalo Medium and Garlic Parmesan had good flavor but very chewy skin. The Buffalo Fried Cauli Bites looked half eaten and soft. Because this was a delivery, I assume that the food lost some of its crunchy factor? But how can you charge $9.20 for this basket of cauliflower?
We’ve been here before and had a much better experience, so I’m not sure if they have a new cook. I ordered the Garlic Parmesan and Lemon Pepper wings this time, and unfortunately, both were a letdown. The Garlic Parmesan was drenched in sauce—way too much—and the flavor was off. The Lemon Pepper wings were overpowered by the seasoning to the point where I couldn’t even finish them. It was just too much. On a positive note, the cashier was very friendly and welcoming, but I left disappointed with the food this time around. Restroom was clean.
The quality of both the service and food have declined significantly in the past few months. I used to spend a lot of time here and always felt welcomed by the employees, but recently that is not the case. In my experience tonight, I was made aware beforehand that there was no fries but I’d have to pay full price for the meal, which I appreciated and I agreed to. But not only did I not receive a discount on my meal (that was half missing), I was also up-charged for cajun fries that I wasn’t receiving??? I paid $13.50 for two chicken strips, a fried pickle, and a water, and the meal came out burnt. One of the employees was just plain rude, and the atmosphere is now dull and unhappy compared to how it used to be. Honestly wouldn’t have cared if I wasn’t made to feel uncomfortable upon walking in. Probably the last time I eat here.
My husband and I gave the Thirsty Chicken a chance when looking for a new wing place. We ordered our food, and really loved the taste. On August 11th, we called the restaurant to confirm if we ordered the Chick (5 wings), but paid the extra $2 would we be able to get 10 wings one style (flats or drums) the person we spoke with said yes, and we placed our mobile order. Everything was perfect. On August 16th, my husband and I were craving wings, so we ordered the exact same order as before; only this time, no additional wings. We went back to the restaurant requesting our missing wings, only to be told that the extra $2 we paid was for the style (flat/drum only). I politely asked the girl why it said 10 wings next to the $2 price tag, to which she said "I don't know why the app does that. It'll say extra $ for 5, 10, or 15 wings, but you have to order the bird box that already has that number. in this case, you would have to order the hen". While I'm not about to sit here and pitch a fit over $2 (extra $1 for my supposed to be 10 flats, and extra $1 for my husbands supposed to be drumsticks), I do find it very odd that the ordering website is set up this way. It feels like a scam. The wings are good, I won't lie, they are good; but if you can order one bird box, and pay slightly extra for additional wings only, you shouldn't then been be told "nope! that applies to something else. Basically your out of the extra $2 you paid". So sad. I guess our hunt for a good wings place continues. If the Thirsty Chicken updates their website to not scam people out of their money, maybe ...MAYBE we'll come back. Until then, the hunt continues.
As someone who has ordered from here pretty much every week since they first opened, I am very disappointed at what has become of this place. My issue is that this place no longer honors its own coupons. This place distributed coupons that say "for Pick-Up and Delivery", and yet today when I tried to place an order for pick-up, I was told I cannot use the coupon unless I am dining in. If that's the case, then why the hell would you write "for Pick-Up and Delivery" on the coupons? That's literally the opposite of dining in. It made me feel lied to, and the manager I talked to on the phone was extremely rude about it, which is the major sticking point for me. Extremely misleading, and I hate dining in there as all of the seating is outdoors and it is muggy and hot, which is why I prefer to just pick it up and take it home. You have lost a very loyal customer today. You guys would have been better off never issuing these coupons, as I had no issue paying your regular prices, but if you are going to lie and be rude to your customers, then I will eat elsewhere from now on.
Update: The response back from the restaurant concerning the order being ready 15 minutes before the pick up time is somehow my fault? "You’re sorry I didn’t see the message that my food was ready 15 minutes early?" Really? You say the food "usually" travels well? That might be true for a five minute trip home, but what about the fact that it sat on your counter steaming in a tied shut bag for 15 minutes before that? And yes, there are several things you could do to ensure the food is not ruined before the order is picked up, after sitting on the counter for an additional 15 minutes. I owned a restaurant supply company for 50 years. There are a lot of things you could’ve done differently. The cheapest and the first thing you do is not leave it on a counter, tightly tied shut in the plastic bag to steam. If you have to secure it before being picked up, leave it under an heat lamp, and only close it before it leaves your establishment. Take a clue from other successful chicken places. They put their food in a paper container and then in a bag……. THAT IS NOT TIED SHUT. Rarely do I throw away $50 worth of food. I threw this away. I’ve been trying to get to this place for two or three months and was looking forward to my dinner tonight. Unfortunately, it was pretty close to the worst I’ve ever had. Granted, I probably made a mistake by ordering it to go. I arrived at 8:45 which was the pick up time. Checked my text messages when I got back to the car from picking up the order and it appears the order was ready at 8:33? I’m sorry, but if the restaurant is going to have an order ready almost 15 minutes early, they shouldn’t put it in a tightly sealed bag. I immediately opened the bag to let the steam and moisture out before I left the restaurant. Grabbed a tender for the trip home and it was a steamed soggy mess. Tried the pickle and the breading just slid off of it because it was also steamed. Same with the Fry’s. They really need to find a way to hold the meal under a heat lamp or something instead of putting it into a bag to steam, especially if it’s ready 15 minutes early. I’m sorry, but the meal was a complete disappointment.
*Edited review to note that the boneless wings are actually tenders, not wings*: We decided to try this place out due to the cool atmosphere and it being close to home. We ordered our food to go and the wait time was about 35 minutes. We ordered a couple pina coladas and listened to some live music while we waited so we weren’t too concerned with that. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We ordered boneless wings and the cauliflower bites. When we got our food home, we quickly realized that the order was incorrect. Some of the wings were not boneless and everything was soggy and tasted like it was cooked in old grease. The breading was completely off of half of the chicken, the cauliflower bites were drenched in sauce, and extremely soggy. This was disappointing, especially considering the price. We were looking forward to trying based on such great reviews we had seen. Sure hoping this was a one time fluke!
