We enjoyed Homers Kitchen table. This was our 3rd visit over the last month. Really good home cooking style food. The small fried catfish with sides was plenty and tasted good and served warm . The okra was good. Slaw was tasty. My friend got baked chicken with side of green beans and a baked potato . The chicken was great but the green beans were a little off in taste for us. Nothing bad - maybe just a spice they use. The baked potato was really good. We also got a tilapia to go with a few sides. Reported to be very good per my dad . As far as desserts - cheesecake and coconut cake were good. Cobbler was average.
Homer’s rocks. I appreciate quality home cooking, and service, and Homer’s checks both boxes. The food is as hoped for and my experience with the services of Sky, Amanda, and Autumn has been pleasant as these ladies work very hard. Oh, and don’t forget the apple cobbler.
Homers is a fantastic place to eat. The waitresses are friendly and readily available. The atmosphere is comfortable. In my opinion, they have the best fried catfish in AR!
I am from Australia and have travelled around the world, I have eaten at really high end restaurants, but NOTHING come even close to what I had here. The fried chicken with white gravey and mash potatoes and cucumber salad, could possibly be the best thing I have ever eaten! Super friendly staff and the service was real quick. Amazing job, this is worth flying halfway around the world for.
If you want nice down-home cooking with daily specials - this is the place. You can even get a 4 or 5 Veggie plate where you can pick from all the veggies they cook. About $12. They have a Taco Tuesday, they have tamales on certain days maybe Thursday. Lots of TV's, big bar. I sit at the bar to eat lunch - love it. Wait staff is super super friendly here. Outdoor seating as well.
This restaurant was the top choice for my family for the weekend we were in Little Rock. The southern style menu is on point, and the atmosphere is great. The prices were very reasonable. They also have a children's menu. We were impressed with our waitress, Melissa. She was very friendly and engaged with us just the right amount. She made sure we never waited for refills and even made recommendations from the menu. We enjoyed our dinner and were very happy with our pick.
This was the first time we had stopped at the new location and we were glad we did. Love the new place and especially the patio seating. Every table had a little vase of fresh flowers. We arrived about 11:30 thinking we would beat the lunch crowd.Wrong! Parking was scarce, but we were seated immediately. The place was packed. My husband had a plate lunch of hamburger steak, lima beans and turnip greens. He said it hit the spot and no complaints. I ordered Chris's Cheesesteak and it was perfect. Full of tasty beef and just the right amount of onions and green peppers. Yes, it was messy but that's what napkins are for! The only glitch was that our meals did not come out together. My hubby was finished by the time my food came out. The server automatically discounted our drinks which we thought was a fair trade. We will be back and would definitely recommend for a home cooked meal or to watch a Razorback Game.
I really liked Homer's West... It is not fine dining by any means but they do what they do very well. The service was awesome they took care of me. I had the 3 peice southern fried chicken meal which was really good. They have a huge selection of sides that I have never had or even heard of... Purple hull peas??? But I did have the pickled beets and the cucumber salad which were delicious. I had a fried pie with ice cream which was really good (never had that before). The experience was awesome because of the service plus the food was delicious.
Great service offered in the form of traditional Southern hospitality in this family-owned eatery. Delicious American fare based on the two dishes we ordered. Homey decor coupled with reasonable prices. We got there at 11:00 on a Tuesday and it was not busy but filled up quickly by noon with folks at entrance waiting in line, so be aware. A bit noisy when busy. Free parking.
Great comfort food and the menu offers plenty of options for everyone. Also, the food came out quick and was delicious. They did make a mistake on the meal that came out for me but corrected it without me saying anything and I wasn't in a hurry anyway. It was totally worth the wait as my Cheesesteak was fantastic! Would definitely make that a favorite stop of mine for lunch if I lived there. Only reason I didn't give service a 5-star is the waitress was a little curt; she was very busy but was still attentive. It wasn't bad service by any means as she's the one that spotted they brought out the wrong dish and she quickly corrected it.
Food was good. Not omg great. Service was good. Had mushroom Swiss burger. Could have used a touch more seasoning to really make it great. Overall not bad.
The only reason I couldn't give a 5 star review is because I didn't like the handling of my rolls for my to go order. Food fantastic but the gentleman that packed the rolls didn't use gloves or tongs. My only complaint, otherwise a pleasant experience.
Split decision today. Service was excellent From the moment we walked in. Hostess and serve were amazing. And the girl who delivered our food was so friendly. The food was a little disappointing. Jalapeño cornbread had an off taste, like the oil was bad. One bite and we were done. I really wanted fried chicken and mashed potatoes but they only have chicken fried chicken breast, so I gave that a try. That was a miss for me. The chicken was bland and dry and everything on my plate was not quite hot. I’m not a fan of skin on mashed potatoes, but that’s a personal preference. My daughter ordered the catfish, which came out piping hot. Made me think my plate sat while they made hers fresh. Kernel corn was good, Mac and cheese ok. All in all I’d go back and try other dishes but the chicken and mashed potatoes was a big miss for me.
Unfortunately, this place just didn’t hit the spot today. The roll was undercooked and doughy, I had to throw it away. The country fried steak tasted more like a Salisbury steak tv dinner that was just heated up. The gravy was okay and the fried okra was good. I asked them to fry it crispy and they did. Overall, it wasn’t worth the $15 and I was pretty disappointed.
The food has no flavor. Everything was just okay. The cheese dip was so runny you couldn’t keep it on a chip. The Mac and cheese was like reheated kids menu. The burger had no seasoning and the hot chicken sandwich was the mildest buffalo. They have sweet potato fries which were good with ranch. They need a proper drink menu. There are fun specials and a dessert menu but don’t think it would be worth it to go back. The patio has nice atmosphere.
I've heard this place is similar to Cracker Barrel. I can see that. It's not as good. The chicken fried chicken was a bit dry, the cheese dip was bland. But four people ate for less than fifty dollars, which makes up for a lot. I also had a cucumber side salad which was actually really good. Service was great. Atmosphere was a bit flat.
I was one of many that was on a big order for a work lunch, ordered the chicken Fried Steak(No Gravy) and it came completely covered in gravy, asked for a loaded baked potato I got a plain potato and a couple cups of butter. Which completely messed up my lunch because I cant eat gravy. and got no cornbread.
We were looking forward to this as our first visit. After at least 20 minutes after being seated I had to ask the hostess who our server was. Another 10 minutes to get drinks. The fried pickles were great! The bread never came out till I had to ask another server for the bread promised. Burger was decent but the server never brought the requested condiments. The fries were cold. The plates that came with the bread were dirty so we ate on our napkins. The server rarely stopped by our table and could only pass blame off on others for the wait and other issues. After requesting the charge for the cold fries to be removed from our bill we waited another 15-20 minutes to get our check. Thankfully the manager took off the appetizer from our bill. We are hopeful for another opportunity with a better outcome.
Our family spent many hours and dollars at the "old Homer's" restaurant prior to the move to this new space. The food was always good and service at the "old place" was SUPERB! I cannot say the same about the "new place" - our latest experience started out bad - ordered iced tea with lemon, please. Tea came out - no lemon. We asked again but still no lemon. Waitress said she had been working there since April but I would have sworn it was her first day as she appeared quite frazzled. She got both our orders wrong and even when we called attention to it nothing was done. One of my sides was have to been cole slaw - I asked her three times all to no avail. Had a "to go" order, I said just put with that, please. Nope, not there either. No refills on drinks were offered even with both of us sitting with empty glasses - very unusal. I also miss their cornbread muffins - the "replacement" bar type cornbread is not good! As to the decor it is OK but not "homey" and the straight back booths are very uncomfortable. We knew the Franke's personally and were thrilled when Homer's announced they would be moving to that vacant space. We will continue to patronize Homers because it is closer than the closet Cracker Barrell - just wont go at a time when they might be overly busy. (the above meal occurred late afternoon Saturday - they were not busy when we arrived but were getting there an hour later when we left.) (As to the waitress - tall, extremely skinny, long stringy hair, friendly enough but obviously forgetful. did not give her name) All that said, we will continue to patronize Homers - just will careful when we go and what we order.
Good food but they do not serve chicken fried steak. They serve a preseason breaded cutlet. On the menu it is correctly identified on the menu as country fried steak.
Well unfortunately I decided to order the hamburger steak and mash potatoes with the brown gravy. The steak looked and tasted like a frozen patty and the mash potato’s were not good at all. Oh and I got the roll, it was fine. But what made the experience horrible was the waitress. When she tried to make a joke about me not eating very much of my meal a laughing about it well that made me tell her it was horrible tasting food. I said the hamburger steaks seemed like it was a frozen patty and she raised her voice at me defending the food. That was very disrespectful in my opinion. I guess the customer is not always right anymore. Needless to say me nor my co-workers will not be back and we are in there a couple times a week.
