Every time I pick up food through the drive thru, every employee is super nice. It’s always very fast service and honestly it just has that small town feel that I love. Today I got a sliced brisket salad and it was sooo yummy! Don’t know what I’d do without my Chisholm Trail! (Ps: their biscuits and gravy are also delicious!)
Absolutely my favorite BBQ spot in Lockhart, TX. Great brisket, generous sausage rings, Amazing turkey, seriously, don't skip the turkey, and all plates come with 3 sides! The sides are easily the best selection and quality of the Lockhart, TX BBQ joints, and the meats are on par with any other BBQ Lockhart has to offer. Don't skip this place on your tour of the BBQ capital of Texas!
We went for the catfish and ended up ordering a sausage and a half chicken. With so many sides to choose from, we tried 6 different ones. We didn’t touch the meats until later at home. The kraut with pickled sausage was such a pleasant surprise, I got a large container to go as well. The food was plentiful, tasty, and very budget friendly. We still have plenty for two more meals each with these leftovers. Customer service was exceptional- the staff was friendly and attentive to detail. Will definitely be back and we’re excited to bring out of state friends to enjoy Chisholm Trail BBQ.
Great atmosphere food and service. I will eat there again. Brisket was good and sides were great except fir the potato salad. Had a funny after taste.
I ordered there Sausage platter and the Sausage was the best in Texas.
Ordered at drive in. Bbq sandwich was delicious. I just had beef and bbq sauce Meat was tender. Service was great. Definitely will go again if passing through Lockhart
This place is a landmark. I personally have been eating here for going on 30 years, and it is consistently good. It's it the best barbecue you've ever had? Probably not the best, but it is consistently excellent. Service? Everyone there is kind, friendly and likes where they are and what they do. Atmosphere? Yes, it has it. They revamped a while ago (a decade?) but it still feels like a small town barbecue cafeteria line that's been there since before you were alive. I love it, and any time I'm in Lockhart, you can bet I'm getting lunch at Chisholm Trail.
Best beef brisket in the city! Love the self serve option so you’re able to get as much / as less as you want for sides. Exceptional service and all the workers were really nice and friendly! Would recommend this spot to anyone who’s looking to try some of the best BBQ in the state of Texas!
The guy running the register or the window through the drive-thru today needs to take a chill pill but the girl that took up after him appreciate her professionalism she gave great customer service friendly attitude and great smile the food was awesome
Some of the best food around and Great service, the inside has been updated but no entertainment for guests.
First impressions- the smell is to die for when you first walk in the door. The atmosphere is welcoming. The food - if you take a plate, you are allowed to choose 3 sides self serve style from hot or cold sides. Then your meat. The food is delish. I will definitely bring the boyfriend here.
Chisholm Trail BBQ is the place to go! A hometown staple in Lockhart Texas, the crew at Chisholm Trail provide amazing food while making you feel like your part of the fan!
I went through the drive through and got a chopped brisket baked potato and a whole chicken. The potato was a hearty serving and reasonable price, very tasty. The chicken I got to meal prep, and idk if it’s standard for them to quarter it for you, but it made the meal prep really easy. Today I just ate it straight with some baby carrots, but I’ll probably make a salad tonight to go with the other quarters. I’m not sure that even if I had a smoker, I could actually make the smoked chicken less expensive than buying it done for me. Maybe. Like I could buy a roasted chicken from the grocery store and have it be less $, but it’s not as tasty. The amount of work that goes into it, the amount of very literal energy to cook it, and time/attention… It’s likely I’ll be doing this as a meal prep option again. Just an idea.
Excellent food, good prices, awesome peiple work here, eat bbq with the fam anywheres else in Lockart, im Frayed>knot
This place is the unsung hero of Lockhart BBQ. The quality of the meats is always great and tasty; no sauce needed here. The sides and desserts are always great and plentiful. Staff is always friendly and food is out quick. Prices are great and not overpriced, especially compared to other BBQ joints in town. The atmosphere is exactly what you want when you want BBQ - a hometown, warm welcome, family friendly joint. Chisholm Trail is Lockhart’s sands Texas’ best kept secret and literally where the locals go. Top notch. Forever customer.
Stopped in for lunch to celebrate me and my wife’s 28th wedding anniversary and we’re not disappointed. So stuffed! The brisket sausage and chicken was moist and smoked well. Top sides in my opinion were the red beans and green beans. We will be back.
Great BBQ spot, super nice service, great sides (fresh and diversity). Fajitas are superb.
Chisholm Trail Bar-B-Que in Lockhart, Texas has the best tasting BBQ I have ever sank my teeth into. Lockhart is the capital of the famous BBQ joints in Texas and this one is #1 in my book so far. The prices are reasonable and the fountain drink even comes with the plate! I highly recommend this BBQ location for your next meal!!
Full disclosure. I walked in wanting a salad and came out finishing a 2 meat plate. I have no regrets. LOL. I'm not a local. I traveled to Lockhart for work and came here based on recommendations from my co-workers. I'm big fan of going where the locals go. This place did not disappoint. Probably best bang for your buck. Overall the food was good. Brisket was moist and tender, and their bbq sauce went great with it. This place is a also good option for BBQ chicken if you're not feeling beef or pork. Also, you can't go wrong with the sweet tea here. The service was excellent. Walking in can be overwhelming, but the staff was super helpful and gave me great recommendations on sides. The atmosphere is a cozy, no frills type of place. Soon as you walk in, you'll smell the BBQ and it's everything you'll want to smell walking in a bbq restaurant. Now Lockhart has some big name BBQ places with really good BBQ. Don't get me wrong. But if you want to go where the locals go. Come here. You'll see come lunch time when there's a line.
The fruit cups for our school dance were fresh, delicious, and beautiful. Got so many compliments from all of our guests. Brianna was very professional and polite. She communicated when she was on her way and arrive on time. The presentation of the product was fantastic. The combination of the fruit, cookies, Candy and popcorn was delicious.
We stopped by this amazing BBQ on our way through town and it truly was great food. My hubby ordered the super sandwich and he really liked it. I got the brisket plate with some great sides, I highly recommend the macaroni and cheese. This is actually the first restaurant my hubby and I sat down in since the beginning of the pandemic and we felt good. The tables were clearly labeled where you could and couldn't sit. Next time we go through Lockhart, we plan to eat here again. I truly wish I could give more stars.
Great food; love the sides. The people that work there are very pleasant.
We were in Lockhart and wanted to get lunch. It was Sunday and we wanted to have goof BBQ. They have overall great reviews so we went here. The worst thing about the experience is that it is self serve. We have a large family so that complicates things immediately. The second part of that is that we hadn't been there so we didn't know what to do and no one greeted us and told us what to do. However, once asked they did explain. There was a little complication because we didn't have enough hands to get our food at once and we needed to pay and then go back but they weren't busy and let us do it. (We had small children with us). The sides for the most part looked good, the sides we got tasted good and the meat was delicious. The bread was not homeade that we received but they seemed to not have enough on hand because I did see a homeade loaf available. As with most places right now, they appear short staffed but trying to do their best. The cashier was helpful and kind and that was appreciated! We'd come back but I would highly recommend a greeting for each customer that enters and comes up to the line so that someone can help them figure out what's next or help serve their food if they're not going to be able to carry it/serve themselves. It would definitely increase the quality of service. The only other issue I have is the banana pudding was store bought and not traditional BBQ pudding. It was good but man it could have been great! Thanks for lunch!
Been working in Lockhart all week and have stopped in twice, got a 2 meat plate with brisket and Turkey.. it comes with THREE sides for only $12. Absolutely FANTASTIC BBQ, right up there with Smoliks as the best BBQ I’ve had in Texas. Where they really won me over was the fish plate! Best catfish and slaw I’ve EVER had. Same thing, 3 sides included for $12. I spend more than that at McDonald’s. Will be back every time I come through town.
All the food here is great especially the moist brisket and ribs. I highly recommend going early on Sunday to catch the turkey and dressing plates. The plate comes with dark meat turkey, but you can ask for white instead. There are 3 sides that come with it and the first is the cornbread dressing that tastes like someone’s grandma made. It’s delicious and I usually ask for double dressing plus mashed potatoes and brown gravy. The Mac n cheese, fried squash, fried okra or any of the other sides are always yummy too. The customer service is excellent and prices are very affordable for plates or family meals.
We had a good experience here. Passing through and wanted bbq. Would gladly come back if I had the chance. We ordered a family pack of Beef and sausage, which came with 3 sides. Added a 1/4 lb of ribs, a side of fries, 2 desserts and 4 drinks and stayed under $53. Would have been well over $75 at a chain place.... What stood out was the sausage. Clearly homemade. Texture was unique (crumbly, and not packed hard) and had great flavor. Brisket was good, but a little too lean for my taste (wife ordered lean, so I blame her 😁). Sides were great. Macaroni and cheese was very creamy. Baked beans had plenty of meat in it, with a good smoky flavor. Okra was lightly fried just right. Restaurant was clean, nice atmosphere. Staff courteous, and all wearing masks (as of July 28 '21).
Iv tired most of the BBQ places in town and Chisholm is by far the BEST! I drive 45mins from NB to here it’s the only place that has bbq that reminds me of when I was a kid. Love this place!
All the options are great! Go on a weekday, slightly off hours to avoid the crowds. Parking in back, across the little street. Food here exactly what you expect from serious Texas BBQ and it’s all good. Enjoyed the brisket, chicken, and some sides. Be sure you’re hungry, too, because portions are large.
I wanted to like this place just because the people were so kind and polite. I mean very very nice people, but I can't like it for just that reason. I have to like it for that reason and the delicious food! I mean my goodness the ribs were some of the best I've had in a long long time. You guys do a great job, keep it up! P.S. My puppy loved the rib bones!
1st eating here. ☺ This place gets busy, I'm thankful we were able to get great service. Josh and the other ladies were great help. We tried the brisket, chicken, sausage, beans, macaroni, 🌽. The Homade bread was great as well. Had some room for that peach cobbler.... oh yum!!! Thank you Rubi and Mike
The food here is fantastic. The portions are good and so is the price.
We were traveling to Lockhart and arrived around 7:00 pm. We were excited to see Lockhart Chisholm BBQ was open late. We’ve had many of the more well known places, and we’re excited to try something different. And WOW! Delicious bbq and sides with generous portions. My husband and I split a 3 meat plate and we couldn’t finish it. The marbled brisket was heavenly! We also had sausage (delicious), and chicken, which was just a little dry. Their Staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a hidden gem!
Gotta say their customer service is exceptional! A lot of bbq places don’t know what is in their food but Elliot let me know everything I was allergic to and could eat. The brisket was great!
No frills BBQ spot with great food served by friendly folks! The fajita here is unrivaled. Hands down some of the best I’ve ever had! You also can’t go wrong with the brisket and sausage links. I’m sure everything here is great, but I’ll have to keep coming back because I’ve been full for hours. Definitely stop in or swing through the drive through when you’re in town.
Picked up at the window and the service was friendly, fast and respectful. The brisket was flavorful and the sides were varied plus tasty. The cornbread dressing was my favorite.
We read that Lockhart was the best place for BBQ in Texas. We then read that Chisolm Trail BBQ was the best BBQ in Lockhart, if you wanted to go where the locals go. It is buffet style, and you can choose 1 to 3 meats and all come with 3 sides. The gentleman that came in behind us explained it to us and told the gentleman cutting the meat that we were newbies. They were so friendly and helpful, even someone as shy as me felt relaxed. The sides were amazing, with several choices. The pork ribs, smoked chicken, and fajita steak were the best I've had. Would return!!
Amazing food. I used to come here with my parents when over 20 years ago. This place holds such great memories for me. The food has been delicious and the staff friendly every single time no matter the time of day or day of week.
My #1 choice for Lockhart bbq. The sides here are the best in Texas, but then...the brisket. The brisket here is fan-freaking-tastic. It's how I describe it and that likely doesn't do it justice. Really awesome as are all of their other meat options. Catholic friendly during Lent, too. They have fish options. Come check it out for yourself. .
I had Chisholm Trail cater my wedding and it was amazing. Brianna the catering coordinator was amazing to work with and was able to assist in accommodating myself and my many guests with a gluten free diet. The set up and service was on time and very professional. Everyone commented on how good the food was!
Never disappoints! I appreciate consistency and that it is all tasty. I've had most of the meats, sides, and desserts, and I can't say that I've had a bad bite. More than that, for me, it's the staff that makes the difference. Always friendly with a smile. Always asking is this piece good? And they always ask can I get you this? Can I explain that? Just lovely.
I personally LOVE SIDES and they have them. We tried them all. My favs! Black eye peas, broccoli salad but there are 19! and their bread!!!!! Yum. Briscuit was good. Sauce is good. Sausage eh. great atmosphere
First time visitor! I thought all they had was BBQ. I grew up in a family BBQ restaurant with amazing food, so it’s hard to eat it elsewhere. But I found out they also have cafeteria style serving and their fried catfish is among the top 2 best I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Their sides were amazing… every side I had was well-seasoned which you often don’t get in a restaurant. Their customer service was top notch… down home friendly folks! Just wanted to let you know we had a great experience and I’ll definitely be going back!
We were stuck in town with car trouble. The mechanic next door said this place has the best Bar-B-Q in a town that is supposedly famous for best Bar-B-Qs. Naturally we had to try it out. We had no idea how the ordering process went, but they were so kind and helpful. It is self serve on the many amazing sides. They serve the meat from their multiple options of amazing meats. All the meats were so tender and so delicious. The sides were all delicious. The service was so nice and wonderful. Will definitely eat there again when we go back to pick up our car.
I cannot say enough about Chisholm trail BBQ. The food was hot and delicious, the customer service was amazing and it did not only raise the bar, they are the bar. They had every side any of my family could ask for. The portions of meat were very fulfilling. Thank you for making us feel at home. Next time I am in Lockhart, we will be back.
Welcome to one of the best barbecue joints in Texas. I first noticed this spot due to the long lines waiting to order from the drive through, every time I passed through Lockhart. You always hear about Lockhart BBQ, primarily because of the more tourist focused operations near downtown. But did you ever wonder where all the local Lockhart BBQ lovers go? They hit up the Chisholm Trail! As I mentioned, the drive through is always busy, so I usually take the time to dine inside. This is a cafeteria style ordering operation, grab a tray and load up on desired sides while placing your meat order. The folks here are very friendly and down to earth, and will answer all your questions. The best side in my opinion is their potato salad, which sets a standard for ingredients, texture and taste… the classic accompaniment for brisket! On this visit, I ordered a fresh chopped brisket sandwich with the moist cut. Pro-tip - Get a fresh chop so you can add your own amount of sauce, keeps the sandwich from getting too soggy! The ribs are great too! Next time you are in Lockhart Texas, skip the tourist traps and give Chisholm Trail a try for some true local color!

We’re staying next door at the Lockhart Inn and decided to try their Breakfast . So glad we did Brisket Taco and was excellent . Brisket just about perfect . Friendly staff . Highly Recommend!
Top notch service. Top quality food at reasonable pricing. Friendly, prompt service. Drive thru was long, yet the expediency was excellent.
Excellent brisket, moist and tender with great smoke. You get a choice of 3 sides ( hot or cold). Great coleslaw and a side you don’t usually see; carrot and raisin salad. We loved it!
Drop in for a family meal. The barbecue beef fajita well worth the drive. The potatoes salad had an herb or something that was off putting. The black eyed peas and macaroni was tasty. Everyone loved the homemade bread. All in all will return.
There is no service but the meat is outstanding. A better value than Blacks but still overpriced.
This is one of many bbq restaurants in Lockhart, but in my humble opinion it's really not bad. The others might get more press, but I really wasn't overly disappointed with any of the meats I ate. The turkey was just a tad dry and the brisket wasn't seasoned the way top bbq restaurants are with that famous bark, but it was moist, and heck whats bbq sauce for? The ham was pretty good though. The coleslaw was just average, but the macaroni salad was tasty. The price is way affordable over other bbq joints. Really you can't go wrong by stopping for a bite
We visited on Saturday afternoon. Service was great, and the food was excellent. The beans were a bit bland, but they were the only menu item we didn't love. And our table tried a lot of the items! I had the chopped beef sandwich. Hubby had chicken, brisket, and sausage. All delicious.
Food is good but there is better in town. We were doing a BBQ day so hit 4 bbq joints.
First trip. Was really looking forward to a baked potatoes but the fried squash helped me forget it. Brisket was ok.
The drive-thru is very fast and convenient. We ate at the picnic tables across from the restaurant. The brisket can be a little dry if you got the lean parts, but moist is a lot better. I like the cucumber salad. The sausage is also unique. It's made with big clusters of meat and is full of smokey flavor. The only complaint of our first visit is that we only got one small container of bbq sauce. You should ask for extra sauce if you love putting bbq sauce on everything!
I really appreciated the warm welcome! The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere felt homey and inviting. I ordered a plate of BBQ, and while the overall experience was good, I found the meat a bit under-seasoned for my personal taste. It might be intentional to let customers adjust the salt to their liking, which I can respect. Still, I can only rate based on what I was served. That said, the people and the vibe definitely stood out, and the food is worth trying. Looking forward to exploring more local spots! Thank you this was great 😊
I ate inside so I got the Chisholm trail big breakfast and for $11.50 it wasnt all that. Everything is under heat lamps and eggs where dry, the potatoes tasted weird and the beans bacon and biscuit were okay. I love their food. I should of got tacos instead. I dont like to leave bad reviews but it is what it is. Bill miller breakfast plate is cheaper and taste more fresh.
Good BBQ in a town with a reputation for amazing BBQ. Sides were great mac and cheese was not as aldente as I prefer, but also not mushy, perfect for probably 60% of people. Mashed potatoes and gravy were really good. I liked the sweet pickles. Ribs were moist, and had an old school salt pork flavor, membrane on which is not my preference, but it was rendered so not a big deal very moist. Brisket was good tasted like a plain SPG. I didn't care for the cook. Small smoke ring, fat soft but un rendered, meat brown instead of pink. My guess would be that it was wrapped a little to early, so lost a little on color, texture, and flavor, still plenty juicy, decent little above average BBQ, and overall a good experience.
Undeniably that good old Texas BBQ! The flavor was delicious. The ribs and brisket did not need the sauce too brighten the flavor profile, but because it was dry. I was tremendously disappointed by this. The black eyed peas had an overwhelming taste of garlic and I couldn't eat them. The Mac and cheese however was creamy and very tasty. The fried squash was a bit salty for my liking. If they can fix these issues, I will definitely be a repeat customer as the prices were very wallet friendly.
My husband and I both got plates. You get to choose your sides (3), and there are a lot of sides to choose from. I had the smoked turkey with potato salad, green pea salad, and sauerkraut. The turkey was good and so were the sides. The sauerkraut was delicious! My husband had the brisket with fried okra, mashed potatoes and country gravy, and the broccoli salad. This is ny far the best brisket we've had. The sides were good, but the broccoli salad was mediocre. They are, also, serving fish during lent.

Went here forc1st time. Great service, awesome atmosphere, food sub par. I love smoked chicken, I took one bite and spit it out. Tasted like a chemical. Potato salad was also not to my liking, but they replaced that with some French fries. I won't return but everyone has their own tastes.
I haven’t eaten here in a couple years as I switched jobs but I made the hour drive today to get some of that tasty brisket. As always it was great but the ribs were like eating jerky and as others have mentioned they have cut back on portion sizes. If it wasn’t for the 3 sides which were all delicious I would have still been hungry. Would I still stop here again yes since I love their cucumber salad and brisket but I will make sure to check my food before I get home next time to make sure I don’t have to eat plastic ribs for dinner.
An okay place the sides are pretty good i wasn't wild about there meats it was dry although they claimed it as moist.
Overall I’ll give it a 3 star for a BBQ restaurant. Food wasn’t anything special. More like cafeteria food. Brisket was good and moist. Pork ribs were over salted and dry. Sides were rather lacking. Mash potatoes was dry. Mac & cheese was fair. Coleslaw was not great. Noodle salad was okay. Chopped sandwich was not the best more like an average one (gave my brother heartburn) Service: Staff was friendly. 5 stars for the staff Atmosphere: looked clean and plenty of space and parking.
Stopped here on my way back home, went through the drive through and got a chopped beef sandwich, mac-n-cheese and a sweet tea. The food wasn’t bad but it tasted like it came from H-E-B or something. Maybe H-E-B copied them but both the chopped beef sandwich and mac-n-cheese was average. Also, I saw someone walk out with a gallon of sweet tea that looked like the Red Diamond tea? It was also average. The guy that helped me in the drive through was very nice and can’t speak to the “Atmosphere” of the place, cheers!
My husband and I decided to try this place out on our way home from Austin. He got the turkey sandwich and pinto beans. I ordered the chopped beef sandwich and macaroni salad. It took the drive thru attendant 6 times to get my order correct. She obviously didn’t understand English. The turkey sandwich had more lettuce on it than anything else, the pinto beans were overly salted, the macaroni salad was drowning in mayonnaise and the chopped beef sandwich tasted like ground up beef jerky with bbq sauce. The food was somewhat edible, however we will stick with Terry Black’s as they are still the best.
It's like a "Bill Miller's PLUS". I don't care much for Bill Miller's (except for they're mashed potatoes n' gravy and breakfast tacos) and that's why this place gets the "PLUS" status. It's open late enough for those who still crave BBQ after all the Big Wigs in town have closed and I must say, they do in fact have "thee" best beans. Thank you chisolm trial for being you and well......being there.
Food here is great no doubt, the guy at eje drive thru was super nice as well but they really need to work on checking their orders, EVERYTIME i go here something’s always missing, i drive from creedmore so its a pretty decent drive, went by today for a 2 meat plate with ribs and brisket, got home & realized my brisket was missing, they only gave me the ribs, pretty upsetting.
First time here we went about an hour before closing so I tried to take it all with a grain of salt. Didn't care for the glaring overhead fluorescent lights or the fact that they ONLY serve food to us in styrofoam. It all felt extremely wasteful. Plastic utensils, Styrofoam takeout for plates, and huge Styrofoam cups. However the service was friendly and helped me get through the buffet line and menu. My favorite thing was the sauerkraut and sausage. Baked beans were also delicious. Lockhart is saturated with BBQ so there will be more to review!
Brisket tacos and a sausage wrap. The chopped brisket was dry, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a bit. Drowned it in sauce it was still MEH. Not the best choice. Sausage was alright I guess.
Lockhart is the barbecue capital of Texas. If you’re going to have barbecue in Lockhart it better be darn good. I had the brisket which was OK didn’t have much of a smoky flavor. The turkey was very good. The salad and the coleslaw were OK and the beans were pretty good. Being in the barbecue capital of Texas, you expect the best and this was just average BBQ. There are too many other excellent barbecue places in Lockhart. I would not recommend this one. What I will give them credit for is a great place to meet and three sides for $13.99 which for barbecue is really good.
Tried the top 4 Lockhart BBQ spots today: Chisholm Trail BBQ, Black’s BBQ Lockhart, Smitty’s Market, and Kreuz Market, in that order. Chisholm Trail ranked 3rd for me. I got ribs (pretty good, but kind of tasted like turkey leg), brisket (bark was good, rest was a little tough and different consistency throughout), dark chicken (dry not much flavor). I wasn’t greeted or even acknowledged until it was time to order. I had forgotten I went two years ago. Chisholm Trail BBQ in Lockhart came recommended by some friends and it was a fine meal. The brisket was a little too fatty for my taste but the sides were good, especially the fries and potato salad. I’m making my way around BBQ places in Texas and can check this one off the list.
The meat was a little dry and overly smoky and the smoke was not a clean smoke so it didn't taste best. It tasted kind of oily The staff was amazing, very friendly and welcoming which created a nice atmosphere Has compared to any of the big chains like Terry blacks this is okay but not really worth the price they charge
Well, I can't say that I am a huge fan of their meats. The only thing that I even order here anymore is their baked potato. THAT I will admit is very tasty, and a great price as well. \n\nI've neve…
The brisket is great. Nice flavor. Pretty thick fat pieces. The sausage is greasier compared to other places I've tried. The potato salad was average, sorry to.say. just something an aunt would b…
It USED to be the go to bbq place because it was cheap and good. Now it is very expensive and ok at best. It changed for the worse...
Cole slaw was terrible, Service was not friendly. brisket real good except I asked for moist/marble cut and he gave me lean and moist (did not think I would have to check), sausage real good, but casing tough as leather. Ribs real dry. Won't be back . Don't bother. And EXPENSIVE
Felt like being interrogated for stopping for lunch. There was a sheriff and a table of law enforcement while I was there. The sheriff was peculiarly interested in none of his business and twice said "be careful" as in "don't cause trouble or we will arrest you." Was the least comfortable I have ever felt eating. The food was delicious, but was so salty and greasy is made me ill. The servers were all pleasant.
I just had the worst barbecue sandwich that I have ever had in Lockhart. I went through the drive-through at Chisholm Trail barbecue. I got sliced beef sandwich. It was dry and very chewy did not loo…

Surly meat cutter. Just went thru there, after getting the self serve veggies, waited at the meat cutting station for a few mins until the meat cutter decided to grace us with his presence. Once he…
Broccoli salad was sour. I almost threw up when I started to chew. My wife went to get more meat because her broccoli was putrid as well. They had the audacity to charge her and offered no refund o…
Broccoli salad was sour. I have a cast iron stomach but one bite and I almost threw up. I am still queasy writing this. When my wife told them hers was bad as well and she wanted a replacement of another meat, they charged her. Eat here at your on risk. Plus, everything was self serve except meat. Not a good idea.
Disappointed, messed up my teams lunch order. Completely forgot my meal. Called them to see what happened. They told me "Oh yeah it's in the microwave." So much for a fresh lunch. Next time I'll buy a microwaveable meal from HEB and save myself the trouble.
Order a 2 piece meat plates, with 3 sides and a piece of corn bread. The food was very plain no seasoning !!! Most horrible bbq I ever ate !!! Paid $36 for 2 people to eat.... Bought a half a lb.of brisket too!! Only had 4 slices of brisket this was so not worth it!! Couldn't believe a restaurant could mess up bbq!! I was very disappointed 😞!! Do not eat here !! 👎 Down !!! Looks good but isn't!!
If you want flavorless, dry BBQ then this is the place for you! We were not greeted, no one talked to us the entire process, and then we got overcharged for our plates and refused to fix it. My kids wouldn't even touch the mac and cheese which is usually their favorite because this one tasted so awful. The side salad tasted like it wasn't washed. I would suggest to NEVER go here unless you just don't have taste buds.
Sliced brisket sandwich had 3 pieces of meat full of fat. Also it was on a big cold soggy bun. Potato salad had no flavor and the beans were cold. I paid way too much for lunch. Would have been better off at Taco Bell or McDonald’s. And to top it off they wanted a tip from me!!! Had to stand in line to order, make my own drink and bus my own table!!!
Disappointed with the service in drive thru with Bon/Von whatever his name is . We have a dog with a heart murmur and we’ve taken him here since a puppy. It’s never been an issue with them giving me a little bit of scraps for free but this time that guy decided to tell them to charge me $6 for the tiniest amount that he’d probably throw away. I’ve grown up here and to see how one person can make a business seem stingy is upsetting. Pic will be posted of said scraps “worth” said amount
Food is decent if they decide to put beans in with their onions that day, the tea may or may not be sweet with a “tang” that’ll leave your throat sore the next day (it’s most places not just these guys, tea containers are hard to properly clean I get it). You’ll need to specifically ask when you order as well as at the window for extra bread or else you’ll only get 4 sandwiches with 4 links of sausage. I’m guessing they assume everyone just goes home and isn’t trying to feed their crew? Their newest venture is mini sauce cups, when you would get 2-3 of the usuals now you get 4 minis, so like 1 cup. They love bacon and you may not get out of their parking lot after lunch without being kidnapped
Food is served cafeteria style. However, the food was cold and old. The potato hash had no salt and was at least a couple of hours old. The okra tasted like it was fried in old/dirty shortening. The idea of serving homemade bread is good...but only if it is a bit fresher. I don't think I will be returning to this place. Worst $53 I ever spent...
