Authentic Italian cuisine in London, best pizza ever! I had an amazing time with my friend, special thanks to Svitlana and Vanessa that made me feel like home, definitely coming back to try the other dishes
Authentic restaurant offering tasty food from the puglia region of Italy. The meat is perfectly flavoured and cooked. Tender and well raised cattle. Service was exceptional and good decor with music. My only criticism is that the portions could have been a lot bigger but otherwise 5 out of 5 for the food.
Pulia Italian restaurant London Bridge. Lovely little find. Authentic food from Puli region of Italy. Fantastic food great service, friendly staff. Good value foe money. Will definitely be back.
This little gem is situated close to the Golden Hind. I came on a hot summers day to find an oasis of calm down for very reasonable set menu for lunch from retropectoral bean soup, and had a selection of Italian cheeses for dessert, along with a glass of pepper and a double espresso Place has a wonderful vibe. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food was a real joy.
Passed by by accident and decided to stop for lunch, it was a great surprise. Great ambience, great staff and great food. You can really feel the ingredients are of the best quality, and you can see the amount of detail overall in the preparation of the food. Exactly like eating in the best restaurants of Italy. Our waiter Marina was amazing, as well as her manager, great friendly and pleasant service. Will definitely be back.
We visited Pulia recently (August 23) as a party of 6 (including children). We really enjoyed our meal and the food! It was beautiful, delicious and well presented from starter through to dessert. Whilst the sweet choice first appeared limited, out food was excellent and we all loved it! We will definitely visit again when we’re next in the area and hope the restaurant prospers. Well done Pulia and thank you!
Cosy atmosphere, friendly service, and great food. Had the foccacia, agnolotti, polpette, and polpo with the house wine, closed with tortina and pasticciotto. Everything was splendid - will be back to try other food on the menu ✨🍝
A lovely place to have a lunch or a dinner on Borough Market. The autentique Italian food from Puglia. You should try the octopus, the truffle burata, and the zampina.
Wooowwww!!! I had such an amazing luch here!!! Food was delicious and I strongly recommend to visit this place From the soup to the dessert, everything was PERFECT!!! Congratulations!!
It is a very nice and cosy spot. Food portions are good and service is great. Very welcoming environment and is a perfect dinner spot. Prices are reasonable for the location and value for money. The restaurant is also very astethically pleasing.
I had the pleasure of dining at Pulia near Borough Market, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing meal. We started with the Acqua Panna and indulged in a variety of dishes, including the Margherita Pizza, Orata con Verdure, and the Torta al Limone. Each dish was a testament to the quality and simplicity that Pulia promises. The Orata con Verdure was perfectly cooked, with fresh vegetables that complemented the fish beautifully. The Margherita Pizza was a classic, with a perfect balance of flavors. The drinks were equally impressive. We enjoyed the Pulia Silene, a delightful choice that paired wonderfully with our meal. The espresso and cappuccino were the perfect end to our dining experience, rich and flavorful. Special mention to the server, Ciro O., who was attentive and provided excellent service throughout our visit. The chef deserves accolades for the meticulous preparation and presentation of each dish, truly showcasing the essence of Italian cuisine. Overall, Pulia provided an exceptional dining experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy authentic Italian food in London.
Very modern and trendy interiors in the heart of Borough. You won’t find traditional Italian dishes here. Expect a contemporary twist on the classics. All light and freshly made. They also had their own brand of wine! We were a bit alarmed when we got our pizza as it was super thin crust and looked slightly underdone. However the taste was very good and we enjoyed our ravioli too. Their white wine was a delicious accompaniment. The area is filled with lots of chains and “insta famous” places so this Restaurant feels local and quaint in comparison, which we found to be a welcome change!
It is possible to give them 6 stars? That is my new fav restaurant, 5 star staff, food quality over the excellence, great service and vibe.. Highly recommend! Thank you Ciro e thank you Luciano! For ever grateful
I went to Pulia yesterday for a business lunch, I have previously worked in the area for 3 years but never stumbled across this place. It is placed just behind all of the tourist food attractions in Borough Market and well worth the extra few steps. I have spent a lot of time in Italy and this is the best Italian meal I have had outside of Italy. Beautifully presented, simple high quality food not trying to be 'trendy' or over clever. Highlights were starters see pics attached a quality sausage pasta for main...and the pouring of coffee onto the Tiriamusu was a nice touch. Are there cheaper places for lunch nearby? Yes of course...are there trendier places? Yes of course... However are there better places to go for quality fresh food made with care...id say No. I will definitely be back again.
This restaurant has an outstanding variety of Italian dishes. Best and tastiest 'Polpette Pugliese' I've ever had in London so far!!! In addition the beef ragu was superb. Drinks were also delicious. Such an attention to detail from both kitchen and front staff. Specially many thanks to Ciro who gave us an amazing service. We'll be back soon.
Lovely little restaurant near Borough Market. The staff are attentive and the low lighting and pretty decorations create a nice atmosphere. The ragu pasta was fresh with a lovely rich sauce, and the wines from Puglia were also very good. I'd recommend this for a date night or catch up with a friend!
What a lovely place! Friendly, relaxed, and really excellent food. The fabulous Marina helped guide us to some excellent choices from the menu. I especially enjoyed a creamy anchovy pasta dish. We're pretty regularly in this part of town: we'll be back to Pulia for sure.
A really authentic experience which brought me back to my recent trip to Puglia. A great menu, great service and lovely restaurant. I recommend the sausage Cavatelli, and no meal would be complete without a Pasticciotto!
The truffle pasta was delicious, with real white truffles. The staff were very friendly and accommodating even though it was a busy Saturday. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
I highly recommend the gnocchi with pecorino cheese! It was really tasty, loved it. The staff (Vanessa and Ciro) was very friendly and fun was well.
Last night at Pulia was amazing. Met with friends for pasta and had the one with beef - my mouth still waters just thinking about it. Staff was efficient, friendly and easy to talk to. Definitely will be back to try the octopus next! Thanks to the chef and kind service (:
Just two longstanding friends enjoying a very long leisurely lunch yesterday. Service was fantastic, enjoyed our food and no pressure to leave - thank you.
Had a great time here and the food was delicious. I went with my family and recieved amazing, friendly service from all the staff members and the food was delicious. We tried many different items on the menu as there was quite a few of us so were able to taste and see the quality firsthand of many of the dishes and we were not disappointed by any of the dishes! Service was friendly, efficient and generally a great all round atmosphere. Will definitely be recommending!
We had a delicious lunch here. Highly recommend this restaurant! Vanessa was a terrific hostess and waitress.
Had an amazing time here. food was fresh and tasty, and everything felt thoughtfully made. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. It’s a lovely, relaxed spot that I’d happily go back to.
Really enjoyable experience. All for ve in f us enjoyed our food and the service was friendly and efficient. The sharing platters were particularly good.
Place is quite nice, the pasta and pizza were amazing. Didnt enjoy the meat that much but it was alright. Dessert was great as well. Price was okay, not too expensive with big servings. I just wish they have containers for take away.
The staff are wonderful and the service was excellent. Five out of six dishes were excellent but not cheap. The liver starter was very poor - tasty but gristle ridden chewing liver. The room is large white and featureless. Accoustics are poor and echoy. I found it hard to relax in the noisy room but a careful selection from the menu should provide a tasty meal at a price.
Cute spot for nice Italian fare - the ingredients are fresh, the portions are sizeable and the dishes and the flavours are spot on. Good service and well-located, just moments from Borough Market.
Very nice and authentic Italian food. This place is behind borough market and can be easily missed off the beaten track. Has a very clean and warm feel to it. Staff were attentive and service was good. I tried the gnocchi and it was delicious.
Nice food with very small portion, oh expensive in that way. Great place near to the Borough Market. Better to book it first before heading there. Staff is really pushy. They welcome u warmly but after that push u to get that place empty. Not good for group of friends.
Food & service was good. I ordered the lamb, which said medium on the menu but it was well done. Only given a 4 star rating as there was only 1 toilet (not enough for the size of the restaurant)
It's the perfect place where to go if you miss Puglia's food. The dishes I tried were very good and the atmosphere brings you straight in a topical Puglia's restaurant. Maybe just a bit expensive but the place and the food compensated the price.
We went here after a neighboring restaurant was closed due to unforseen circumstances. The environment is busy and bustling, not quiet and cosy. Great for groups and social couples. They have some fresh and lovely pasta dishes and a focasia with burnt wheat which looked amazing. Tasty meatballs and the aubergine in olive oil was surprisingly tasty. Recommended.
Nice restaurant, very friendly staff and great service. The food was okay but maybe we didn't order the best dishes.
Second time for me here. I like this place because the food although not exceptional, is good enough. The staff is lovely and above all they let us enjoy our dinner without the rash and pressure to leave you feel in other places, so my friend and I had a very relaxed dinner. I will definitely go back again. Thanks!
Bit of a weird place. We got a pizza, which was a good size for the prize but pretty mediocre tasting, and a portion of pasta, which was too small. Atmosphere was off, it felt like we couldn't really talk because it was so empty and the staff were almost too attentive.
The Place is cute the location recalls some traits of Puglia seemed to be in an Puglia trullo for some aspects and for others in an pulian trattoria . But let's move on to the food . Food quality by London standards very high and value for money excellent when you calculate that we are in London brige in a tourist area . But the menu is not at all from Puglia and there is very little of puglia the disappointment we had in desserts where there was tiramisu typical of Trentino la caprese and pastiera typical Neapolitan desserts . So we set aside . two words about the service nice and courteous guys maybe only positive note .
Food was good; bruschetta was smoky and so it had a unique and original taste but it was quite salty. I got the orichette which was filling and had a balanced tomato sauce but felt a little too Al dente for me. Service was bizzare, nice and friendly people but they took a knife away whilst still eating - almost mid slice - and so felt quite aggressive. Also they asked to take an aperol spritz even though some was left. Felt a bit pushy and caught us by surprise to say no. Willing to give 3 stars as they were friendly and food was good. If staff were surly would make 2 stars
Nice atmorphere and the staff were lovely. Sadly the food was a bit bland and the portion was too small. I got 6 pieces of tortellini.
We recently visited this place, drawn in by its promise of authentic Italian cuisine. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations. The truffle pasta, (£23 pound mind you) which should have been the highlight of the meal, was overcooked and mushy, lacking any flavor. The seasoning was minimal, leaving the dishes tasting uninspired. You cannot serve overcooked pasta in Italian restaurant. Octopus salad as well lack flavour. Nothing special at all. Beer served tepid. Service also left much to be desired. The staff appeared uncoordinated, unsure of which guest ordered which dish, leading to confusion at the table. A more attentive and organized approach would significantly enhance the dining experience. Additionally, the pricing felt steep given the subpar food quality and service. I feel like this place turned into a tourist trap with bad food and high prices.
Menu was extremely limited/boring and food was pretty bland. Everything needed a load of salt and pepper and was still only decent at best. I don’t think this is particularly authentic Italian - I’ve had better meals from Pizza Express/Ask Italian. Wouldn’t bother ordering anything beyond drinks and nibbles here but service was good.
Very cute pseudo Italian restaurant in a nice part of south east London. Surrounded by gazillion other restaurants and right next to famouse Borough market. The restaurant has nice modern vibe and very good service, however that's where positives end. Every single item we ordered except for brocollini side was just plain, tasteless or missing flavor. Margarita pizza - plain cheese pizza from school cafeteria, octopus with chickpea puree 5/10 - badly done, plus note to the chef - chickpea doesn't work with octopus at all. The beef stew in white sauce (never seen that in Italy 😆) , basically boiled meat in thin gravy, void of any seasonings 1/10 The stewed calf liver, also very odd item for an Apulian menu, poorly executed pieces still had gristle in'em 2/10. The waitress probably noticed me telling my wife how bad the stew was, so she came over to ask if I want something different, ordered pasta with truffle. It was overcooked but the sauce was not bad 5/10. In summary, the chef or the owner should definitely travel to Apulia and see what's up. This food not only bad, but has no relation to the beautiful yet simple cuisine of that region
Pasta was cooked perfectly. However, the selection and options are limited. The quality of the burrata and olive oil was not that great, seemed like supermarket quality. The fish did not taste fresh and it all has a very strong fish smell and taste. What really let us down was the service, it took over an hour and fifteen minutes for the food to come out. Really disappointed, would not recommend.
The decor and vibe of the place is imacculate. Gives the feeling of dining in the Mediterranean in a beautiful kitchen. The staff are really nice. HOWEVER, the food is so basic. Not worth the price and tasteless tiny portions.
The staff were lovely but the food was terrible. We had the pumpkin tortellini and the squid ink pasta. The tortellini was thick and dry there was no sauce. The mixture was very cheesy and you couldn’t taste the pumpkin. The wine and service was great. However, I would not go back - there are much better places for value and quality in the area.
We visited this restaurant with high expectations but, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience due to the customer service provided by a specific staff member (this does not reflect on the entire team). When we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty, with only one table occupied. We politely asked to sit at table three with a baby trolley, as I have a four-month-old baby who needs to sleep nearby. The staff member gave a visibly negative non-verbal reaction and told us the trolley shouldn’t be there. I explained our situation, but there was no understanding or willingness to accommodate a very basic parental need. The restaurant was literally empty. When our food arrived, the main dish consisted solely of meat—nothing else. While we accept we may have misunderstood the menu, the lack of any sides was surprising and poorly communicated. We complained and the she asked if we wanted something else We also requested bread, which was served dry and clearly not fresh—just toasted leftovers( to hide the fact that was not fresh) which was very disappointing. We complained but she made us pay and didn’t really care or acknowledged. What made the experience worse was the overall lack of empathy or basic customer care from the staff member in charge ( not the overall staff). If this person is the manager, we strongly suggest a change in leadership. Someone who doesn’t understand or value customer needs—especially from families with young children—can quickly destroy what’s left of a restaurant’s reputation. There’s potential here, but without better service and more thoughtful management, it’s difficult to recommend.
Very bad experience as the waitress is slow and distinguish her service to me and my parents with very bad face. She looked unhappy to serve us and wait until very late to serve us water. I asked to pay and she gave me an arrogant face. Food is just so so and very limited menu, she treated other tables much better. Is it because we are Asian? What is she so proud of?? I was going to refuse the 12.5 service charge, but I was too kind to ignore her service as rude as she did to us. Never recommend, especially Asians.
Beyond disappointed with this restaurant!! The food is truly awful! I ordered a tuna salad to start. The tuna tasted off, the tomatoes must have been cut days ago and kept in a tuppa ware and I just could not stomach it, worrying it would leave me with food poisoning. The ravioli to follow was edible but not enjoyable and my friend's pizza looked dry and leathery. We were the only people in the restaurant which should have sent alarm bells when the other restaurants in the area were buzzing. Absolutely no atmosphere...
I am writing to share my disappointment following a visit to your restaurant today with two friends and a baby. We chose your place because it seemed quiet and suitable for us, especially as we had a baby who was about to nap. Around 1:00 PM, we entered and noticed only four other customers — the restaurant was nearly empty, unlike others in Borough Market at that time. After we arrived the other 4 customers finished their meal in left the restaurant. At the whole time in the restaurant was only us 3 there to served. Upon entering, we were greeted by a woman in a black suit who appeared to be the manager. I was holding the baby in my arms, waiting for him to fall asleep so I could lay him in the buggy. However, she insisted I move the buggy away from the table, claiming it would block the passage for other guests. I politely explained that the restaurant was nearly empty and that I would not be able to eat while holding a sleeping baby. Her response was not only unhelpful, but she rolled her eyes at a colleague behind the bar, which I found very unprofessional and disrespectful. Another staff member took our order afterward. I ordered the cod fish, while my friends chose the beef stew and the pasta. When the dishes arrived, we noticed there were no sides accompanying the cod or beef. We enquired about this and were told by the same manager that “this is how we eat in Pulia.” We acknowledged that perhaps we should have noticed this when ordering, but I’ve dined in many Italian restaurants and have not encountered this before. I asked politely if she could provide a side dish. She offered either bread or broccoli. I chose the bread, but what was served looked dry, as if it had been left out overnight and then toasted to disguise its staleness. To make matters worse, when the bill arrived, we were charged for the bread — something I had only requested because the main dish had no sides. My colleague questioned this, but the manager’s response was again rude and dismissive. Her attitude throughout our visit lacked basic courtesy and professionalism. We left the restaurant very dissatisfied, especially with the way we were treated. We had chosen your restaurant in good faith, hoping for a pleasant lunch, and instead felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. And I regret that I’ve paid the service charge. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and consider reviewing how customers are treated in your establishment.
