Recensioni di Café Triskell Long Island City
An amazing gem tucked away in Astoria. I live in Astoria and had for nearly a decade before hearing about this little place. Small, “hole in the wall” feeling, charming, undeniably authentic. The service was warm and attentive but not overbearing, and the food was beautiful and immensely satisfying. Delicious!
The french onion soup is delicious and all the crepes!! The space gives me Amelie vibes.
Food was fantastic. I had the escargot and rib eye and both were delicious. Service was a bit slow because there was only one waitress. Would definitely recommend!
Lovely neighborhood spot for delicious crepes (sweet and savory) and steak frites. Great French wines available at a reasonable price too. Good options for vegetarians and Gluten free
Very highly recommended. This place is definitely off the beaten path for most New Yorkers, but it's worth the trip and if you're lucky enough to live in the neighborhood then you should be a regular. This is my wife and my favorite date spot. Our first visit was on valentines day, without a reservation. The dining room was full but we were seated quickly at the breakfast bar overlooking the kitchen. It was perfect. The homey atmosphere, the funky French playlist, listening to the interactions between Chef Phillipe and Charlene (the maître d'), and the food. We've been coming back regularly since then. I've never had a bad meal here, but my favorites are the French onion soup, the aged goat cheese, pear and honey crepe, and the croque monsieur. Additionally my father has celiac disease, so eating out can be a real challenge for him. When my parents came to visit Chef Phillipe served us all a great dinner and he had no ill effects afterwards. All the crepes are made with buckwheat flour so they're naturally gluten free.
Wow! A breath of fresh French air in this area of Astoria, which is otherwise pizza and grills. This French cafe/ creperie offers amazing authentic crepes. I just Wish I wasn’t so full from the ham egg and Swiss cheese savory crepe, because I would have ordered a desert crepe. And the coffee is good too. Something that is important. Something original and unique. Ambience in the decor, music and the French chef Phillipe. Will come again during my short stay in New York.
Crepes are incredibly tasty - a bit of French in a quiet neighborhood- a true hidden gem Thank you Chef and staff
Everything is delicious, the service is always helpful and the place is charming and lovely. Also, the music being played is always eclectic and terrific, but it is never too loud for good conversation. One of my favorite restaurants in the five boroughs.
Coming here without having a dessert crêpe is like you were not here. Food is amazing of course... chef Philippe and his sweet partner serving all the tables at their best! Definitely the hidden gem of Astoria!! I’m one of their regular customers after my first visit... if I have that punch card, I would get my free crêpes or something!! DELICIOUS FOOD TO DIE FOR!
The savory and desert crepes were so good! Reminded me of crepes in Paris. And the lady waiting on us - where do you get the enthusiastic smile and attitude? Very enjoyable.
This quaint diner is one of my favorite finds in Astoria! Cafe Triskell has incredible French cuisine and the friendliest service of anywhere I've visited in New York. The chef's French onion soup is likewise the richest, most flavorful soup I've had to date (French onion soup is one of guilty pleasure options). During my last visit, I paired that with a roasted vegetable (buckwheat) crepe, which was plenty to split or for leftovers, and then satisfied my sweet tooth with the lemon sugar dessert crepe and berry compote. That light, crispy treat was packed full of sweet, tangy complimentary flavors that were masterfully balanced and didn't overpower each other. The chef doesn't allow substitutions, and after visiting several times, I've had no reason to request otherwise. During the summer, there is outdoor patio seating beneath strings of lights that is perfect for catching up with friends and enjoying a taste of France! Inside is full of artwork and interesting accent pieces, and the dining area, though small, is very inviting. I'm always excited to sit in the window seat next to the thick red curtains! Whenever I am asked for a non-touristy dining recommendation, Cafe Triskell tops my list.
Chef Philippe is the best😍 The frisée salad is my favorite!! The lemon sugar crepes are the best crepes I have ever had Also enjoy the duck l’orange, French toast and quiche.
I've never been to France, but I eat a lot of French toast. This is the best French toast I've ever had. Great little restaurant with amazing food and some of the best prices you can get for a lovely filling brunch. I'll be back.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. It's cozy, inviting and unique. The waitstaff is always friendly and attentive and the food is consistently delicious. I am very fond of the croque monsieur and the French onion soup. And for desert you can't go wrong with the sweet crepes. Whole heartedly recommend Triskell if you are looking for a good meal!
The best French restaurant in NYC I promise you. Ive been coming here since 2012 and this is my favorite restaurant in the world. I haven't had a place beat this place out yet. Ive traveled all over the world and lived in other states and countries yet, I always remember this place and tell people about it. The owner is a sweet heart and the chief here. So you are getting his heart on a plate. My next move it to do a YouTube video about the best places to eat in NYC and Cafe Triskell will always be number #1.
I honestly was debating to write this review as It’s already hard to get a table in this restaurant But the they are such lovely people at this place I just had to. My view on French food have changed. Half of the menu was sold out and I i now know why, I have to come back and try everything on the menu. Apparently considered best French onion sup in NYC I don’t doubt that for a second. We had 6 dishes and every single one was delicious. Very cute place, with great atmosphere and fantastic service. And the food..........yumm Can’t wait to go back and try all the other items...
This place has a lot of meaning for me! I have very good memories there. Besides my memories it is the best place to experience authentic French cuisine. You must try egg-florentine and their crepes! It is soo tasty! Must go place in Astoria!!! Highly recommended🫶
Highly recommend this place. It's a small French spot in middle of Astoria . Must say BEST French toast I ever had. It's just so fluffy and toasty at the same time it comes with a berry compote and maple syrup to drizzle on top .
Living in Astoria for a few years , very glad my friends and I found this place. Food, service is great! Highly recommend!
Standout French restaurant in Astoria. Tiny restaurant, under 20 seats. The brunch french toast and corned beef hash were excellent. Also relatively affordable compared to many brunch places in the area for this level of quality.
Fantastic little french cafe. The Onion soup is beyond amazing and well worth the trip from anywhere in the city. They offer a perfect selection of crepes and other delicious dishes. On the weekends they have scrumptious brunch options including a special quiche.
Had an amazing brunch at Triskell. Wonderful food and service. It was really nice to speak with the chef and learn about the place. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy friendly family atmosphere and French food. Would love to come back soon.
Blown away by how good the food was. Loved the escargot. Duck breast was phenomenal!
My favorite restaurant. Small menu but everithing is amazing. My favorite is the escargot.
A slice of France in Queens! I love the laid back attitude of Cafe Triskell. The food is delicious - the French Toast is a unique take and a special treat for fans of custard. The brunch special is also a great deal and includes a drink (or a 5+ charge for a mimosa). Service is a little on the slow side, but food is always served hot which is critical. Lovely neighbor spot.
Cute little spot exactly like a crêperie in Paris. Food was authentic and delicious both sweet and savory and I love the neighborhood/family vibe!
One of the best french toast i ever had! Definitely come back.
Amazing place! Everything about it is great , the vibe, the food, everything. Highly recommend!
This place is great, such a homey feel, fantastic food, relaxed vibe. The closest to a little French cafe I’ve had since being in France. Yes, the service isn’t your usual nyc pace, but it’s worth it and the food comes quickly. The chef is very cool and helps the servers, awesome place.
Been coming for a few years now ever since, my friend who is French recommended this place. It is my favorite brunch place. Small and cozy. Food is out of this world. My favorite is the Croque Madame, wife loves the quiche, my daughter loves the French toast. Tried their onion soup cause so many people said best ever, was not disappointed, soup was amazing.
Had the place to myself on a Saturday night. I ordered the French onion soup and a crepe for a light meal. Food was excellent (soup was right up there with the best I’ve ever had - the flavor of the broth is amazing) and the prices are reasonable.
Amazing place. Croque monsieur was the best I've had. French onion soup, the same. Duck a l'Orange was great, with candied and fresh orange. Lemon, sugar, berry dessert crepe had a slightly crispy chewy texture that made it almost like a pastry.
Love this charming French bistro. The escargot is amazing with a unique curry spice as are the savory crepes. The chef specials are consistently delicious. Nice wine pairings too.The servers are conscientious and warm and the decor and vibe is cozy and colorful. We keep going back 🤗!
An unexpected hidden gem tucked in a Queens street corner and a must for homesick frenchies on the quest for an authentic taste of home. The savory crepes (or galettes) are made with the traditional buckwheat flour and are perfect washed down with a glass of cider. Finish with one of their delicious dessert crepes for the complete experience. I'll be back for more... soon!!
Small, cozy, unpretentious French restaurant. The food is excellent - high quality and inventive. The service is friendly and attentive. We have been eating there for years. Everything is consistently delicious, and there is something for everyone, including kids. Our favorites are the escargot, mussels, frisée salad, chicken cordon blue. The kids love the croque monsieur. And the dessert crepes are uniquely wonderful! Also don't miss the homemade teas - the floral blend of cinnamon and lavender is fantastic!!
Very happy to see Cafe Triskell still going post pandemic as it remains one of the best French restaurants in all of NYC both for its authentic flavor and, at its core, being a spot for French comfort food. Don’t miss out on some of the best food in the city nestled in one of the best culinary neighborhoods in NYC.
Excellent french onion soup and escargot. Savory crepes were flavorful and filling, with a properly thin but robust enough crepe to hold up against the fillings. Make sure to look around the exterior awning of the neighboring restaurant to find this little bistro tucked in between, it's easy to miss but a shame to do so.
This place was so so good. It was described as French owners from Brittany who wanted to recreate a French cafe experience here in Astoria in Queens, New York City, and it did not disappoint. The outside, the interior vibe and kitchen, and then ultimately the butter and sugar crepes, which is the only thing we had room for on this food tour, was devine. So crispy, buttery, slightly but not overly sweet, and so comforting. Looked like it had a lot of local fans, and we will definitely be back!
Really cute and cozy French restaurant with a feeling you are no longer in NYC inside! The butter and sugar crepe was super crispy and indulgent, a perfect pick me up this afternoon to satiate a crepe craving. The espresso was delicious as well. Service is fast and attentive. The entire lunch and dinner menu looks amazing and I’d love to come back to support and enjoy their delicious food; I saw another diner’s French toast and wish I still had stomach space for it!!
Oh. My gosh. This food was so good! I don’t know what they did to it, but it’s better than it’s supposed to be. Lol. I had the French onion soup (amazing), a bacon and potato crepe with some Swiss cheese (delicious and actually called a galette), and a banana and Nutella crepe (stupendous, how do you make that even better than those from a Parisian street vendor?). Also, the waitress was so sweet and humored my rusty French. Lovely!
For over 2 years this has been my favorite place in Queens. It's also one of the best in the NYC area. Chef makes such amazing food and treats everyone like family. I highly recommend everything on the menu but the French Toast is everything. It's only on the weekends and it's worth it. Chef is also sensitive to gluten allergies so just call ahead. I came here often during the pandemic, ordered to go and ate outside and still, the food is amazing.
You haven't lived yet. Do yourselves a favor and follow my lead! Come, get yourselves a French onion soup, a goat cheese salad, two double shots of espresso (for you and your accompaniment) and then get an IPA to round it off and be naughty for fun. 😉 Our next course is a crepe full of ham and Swiss cheese, and a famous Croque Monsieur sandwich. Enjoy your visit, it's to be remembered! Tell your friends!!
We live in the area and Cafe Triskell is a go to for Brunch. Food is great and the vibe is lovely. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice relaxing morning! Thank you!
We visited here in 2023. 12. 23. We tried Cordon Bleu and Egg Florentine. Cordon Bleu was a little mild for us, but still exotic and good. Also, I love the sauce of Egg Florentine. It was perfect! However, the best part of this cafe was crepes. We almost lost a chance to try the crepe(tiramisu crepe), but the server highly recommended it to us. It was the best crepe we ever had. Even with no sauce, the crepe was so savory and nutty! If you chose this cafe, you should try crepe and onion soup!! Do not lose your chance to have them.
The space is small, so expect a wait—but it’s absolutely worth it. Everything on the menu is fantastic, and the French toast is on a whole different level. Truly mind‑blowing. 🤯
💵Cash Discount of 4% -> Take cash if you can to avoid the card processing fees. We went on a Saturday for impromptu brunch. The brunch menu included a drink of Coffee. Cafe Au Lait is a great choice overall. 🏅French Toast The broiche bread used for the french toast is incredibly soft and fluffy. It feel like a fluffy pancake that melts in the mouth. The compote provides a lovely tart and acidity to balance the rich and buttery toasts. Loved the presentation in the Skewer and the maple syrup/compote mini glasses were a fun addition to the presentation. Would highly recommend! French toast portion is huge for one so its great to share with someone to avoid a food comma. Eggs Nordic: The buiscuits were amazing, super airy and squishy. All baked goods here were the highlights. The hollandaise and eggs were great, super flavorful and well done. The topping on this dish has a ocean/iodine like taste that might no be for everyone but I enjoyed the addition of the flavour profile to the smokey salmon and rich buttery hollandaise.
This very unassuming restaurant, that you can barely see as you are driving by, has some of the best quality food for brunch you could ever want and need. You can tell the one man chef show puts his heart and soul into everything he makes. I had the Nordic Benedict. Let me tell you. The light and fluffiness of the, what I like to call "Love bun" rolls that the, not porched, but fried egg was laying one created an almost spiritual lifting experience. Smoked salmon, to me, tasted like house made gravlax. The perfect blend of seasoning for the Benedict. And the Hollandaise sauce, was golden and perfect. $20 I had a bite of the corned beef hash and potatoes, and it was also very tasty. The corned beef was seasoned right and it comes with a fried egg which makes the dish perfect. $20 However, the in house homemade French toast was the most interesting and awesome dish I have tasted in a very very long time. The 6 "love buns" on a skewer, were served with maple syrup and this berry compote, that make you want to slap something, was an amazing addition to the dish. $20 All of the brunch menu comes with coffee, tea or orange juice. For $20, I will be patronizing this establishment again and again.
I was craving a sweet crepe so I decided to finally visit Cafe Triskell! I'm so glad I did as well. This french cafe is extremely inviting, cozy, and charming. It wasn't very busy but then again it was three in the afternoon on a Saturday. I ordered a cinnamon and sugar crepe with a diet coke. The crepe definitely hit the spot! It was delicious!!! The service was also solid and the folks here were very friendly. I'll definitely come by again and have a proper meal next time. Pro-tip: This is a perfect spot for a casual date! ❤️
This place is a hidden gem!! The coffee is fragrant, the foods flavor is paired perfectly, the service is friendly. Definitely a must go to in Astoria. I will say the lighting is not the best but we did go on a rainy day so it might have been darker than usual. Also super affordable for what you get!!!!
Really good. Tiny restaurant, a bit of a hole in the wall. My wife and I walked past it many times and decided to give it a try given the high reviews. It did not disappoint. French toast was very very fluffy and flavorful. Wife’s eggs with smoked salmon was equally as good. We are definitely coming back.
We had a great time enjoying a nice brunch here. We sat inside, but there is outside seating as well. The food was great - I had the Eggs Florentine and my wife had the Croque-Monsieur. Both were fantastic. I especially want to point out the fantastic service by the woman who waited on us - Marcella. Very professional, courteous, and got us everything we needed in a timely manner. I'm looking forward to coming back here.
Amazing! Incredible! Pleasure bite after bite. This hole-in-the-wall is an absolute must! It is worth taking a trip to the city for. In proper fashion do not rush. Your food will be prepared in time...time is what it takes to make a master piece. Enjoy a drink and a friend as you take in the simple wonder of slowing down and enjoying a truly satisfying meal!
This is one of our favorite places to brunch. Our go-to's are the corned beef and potatoes hash and their signature French toast. The corned beef hash is simply delectable. The flavors are perfectly balanced between the beef, potatoes and the poached egg in hollandaise sauce. Their elevated take on the dish is definitely worth trying. The French toast though!!! They have a delicately sweet taste and still have a little crispness beneath the drizzles of the syrup. The thing about their French toast is that some of the sweetness come from the bread itself versus mostly of it coming from the syrup on top. They definitely have a flavor that is unique to their French toast. That is undeniable. All in all, amazing!
Hidden breath of France in Astoria. It was my first time trying the place and I am impressed. Very family atmosphere. The food is just great, the best French anion soup, the French toast and chamomile lavende tea were something special. I will be definitely back to try the rest of the menu.
Cute place. Use brioche a bit much making most breakfasts a bit heavy. Coffee was weak and server kept forgetting to bring milk requested for it. But everyone was lovely and the place has a verg nice rustic and cozy feeling.
We really enjoyed the food. I had 2 crepes - ham & cheese and Nutella, banana and whipped cream. My husband had the French toast. All delicious dishes, but we were not full at the end of those. There’s something weird going on with the espresso drinks - minus 1 star for that. I don’t think they have an espresso maker. We were the first ones there when we ordered 2 cappuccinos. They came out at lightning speed, not even warm, with no sound of an espresso machine being used in their preparation. They had frothed milk on top and some weak concoction vaguely resembling espresso below. Our server was kind to replace them with black coffees (which were hot) at our request.
We ordered the french onion soup, croquet madame and shared a nutella banana crepe and we were not disappointed. This is a super cute place in Astoria, service is great and it had a decent wine selection. Unfortunately, they were out of most of their red wine selections.
A no frills cafe with a good brunch menu. The Eggs Nordic were tasty. I'd say the portion size was a bit small for the price, but the quality of the ingredients balanced it out.
Haven't tasted anything on the menu that's disappointed me yet. I've only ordered the crepes here, but they've all been amazing so far. The thinness of the crepe itself is perfect - for me at least. The place is a little narrow and can sometimes feel a little cramped on busy days. The staff is very attentive and have had great recommendations. I only wish their pumpkin and apple cider crepe weren't a seasonal item - it's crazy good!
Nice spot for brunch in our neighborhood. French toast was so soft and yummy. Loved the Eggs Florentine and don’t mind going back there for it. ** A warning here that Mimosa is $10 with brunch the following ones are $15 we were misunderstood when the server kept on asking if we wanted another mimosas - ended up having 4 mimosa and only the first one was $10 😅
The Cafe is always full and you usually have to wait 30 minutes or so to be served here but the food is quite worth the wait. One of their popular dishes which I would also recommend for you to try is their French toast. It is sweet and fluffy with a side of home made fruit jam. You can't really go wrong with choosing a place like this for breakfast or lunch. My one critique of this place would be that they only have one server who is usually a bit overwhelmed by everything but does a very admirable job of doing the work of 2-3 people. We were seated in a far corner and she forgot to give us condiments for fries after she asked if we wanted some. Our bill also took a while, understandably since she was so busy. At any rate, I will definitely bring people here for brunch and eat here again even with that!
Hidden spot in Astoria! Really small restaurant run by one chef. I've been here for brunch a couple of times and each time I've had a good experience. The food is really delicious. I ordered the florentine benedict and quiche of the day and each dish was tasty. Pretty affordable too; I've heard great things about their dinner courses so must try that next!
It was ok… crepes weren’t great, service was subpar, the waitress barely communicated with us or made eye contact. The space was small. The french toast was delicious but everything else on the brunch menu wasn't great. We won't be back, it's not worth it.
The place is small and only one person serving. The food is great. If you have a baby there’s no space for stroller but we made it work. I felt as we were being rushed since other people were outside waiting everything was so fast.
The French onion soup was indeed fantastic, but the ambiance was not optimal. There was EDM playing so loudly that some component of the counter was rattling with the bass, which was very incongruous for a Saturday afternoon with only a couple tables occupied. It was also very expensive—we paid $56 for a chicken cordon bleu and a French onion soup with no drinks.
Ordered French toast, the texture is good: fluffy but with some chew. The sirup and jam make the toast oversweet (to French standard), especially with Kir. Some crème fraîche would be better. In general, the food is 4 stars. The menu is small to medium size. The service is OK, nothing very good or bad. The place is small and somewhat cramped. With clients waiting, I was under the pressure to leave as quickly as I can even though I literally finished my food within 10 minutes after it's served. I asked for the check while swallowing the last bite. I was hoping to sit for another 5 minutes to finish the drink, but the waitress asked me if I am ready and then looked at me from afar. If it's a cheap hole in the wall, I'd be OK with it. Given the price and the whole experience: the food, the environnement, the service, I think it's 3.5 stars. If the price is lower or the service/environment is better I would give 4 stars. I will, however, go back and give it another try.
One waitress for the entire establishment who cannot handle the 8 tables. There is often a wait because again, 8 tables. One chef cooks everything so anything you order comes extremely slow. They are often out of more popular orders within an hour or two of opening. Food is good, but not worth the other drawbacks. Would take my business elsewhere.
Been here a few times. The food is amazing but the service is so terribly bad. A long wait to sit, for water, for the bill, etc. There is one server for at least ten tables. We were there for over 2 hours and most of it was waiting for basic things. The French toast bread is so tender and delicious it’s worth going back. We always leave satisfied with the food but frustrated by our experience.
The good: Food, speed, music choice (happy lively 80s-90s music)! The fries were salted just right and the Croque monsieur was just the right temperature! Ham was ok. Now, the rest: The menu on google maps, Apple Maps, and Yelp is an “old” menu with $5 less on most prices. Once you get inside, there’s a QR code to a “new” menu with higher prices and a slightly different layout. And, I was overcharged on tax by a bit. I feel transparency is extremely important in what are the menu items — The QR code could link to the same on-google menu, for example.
Terrible service. Waiting 25 plus minutes for a seat was said would take 5 minutes. The tables were clear but no one cleaned them. The waiter sat a group that came in after us before us. Then said she would clear our table and didn’t. She removed the dirty plates and never went back to clean the table. Had us waiting an additional 5 minutes till we got fed up and went to the table and cleaned it ourselves with hand wipes. Made us wait an ADDITIONAL 5 minutes to come take our order. After seeing the people next to us and not approaching us. The table we were at, the ac kept dripping on us. I get maybe the waiter was overwhelmed working alone but this is a TINY place. 6-7 tables MAX. I give the food 5 stars, because it genuinely was delicious. That made us happy. Maybe we will try again when we see the place is empty.
Great food, cozy setup, but the service is just shocking. My interactions with a waitress: (After taking a bite and realizing there’s no salmon on my “Nordic Benedict”): “Hi, I believe we ordered a salmon Benedict, this is the florentine.” Waitress:(checking notepad in disbelief) “hm, let me check. Yes, you ordered salmon and this is florentine. But you already took a bite, you have to tell me right away! But guess what, it's the same thing, just spinach instead of salmon” ????😵💫 Few minutes later: “Are you ready for a check?” “Umm..we’re still waiting for the French toast..” (again, skeptical, checking with the kitchen) “oh yes, you ARE waiting on a French toast” The Orange juice was promptly put on the bill while it never came out, and again, with a surprise “oh, you didn't get it? Well, do you want it now?” I fully understand the struggles of the small business and always love to show support, but I ended up apologizing more for all the things that were wrong with the food/check. I really hope they learn to treat customers better.
Just go to cítrico cafe a few blocks away for $6 wines and much better food and service, I mean the place is cute, but wow the prices are insane. I am so tired of small spots like this charging soooo much money for the most basic of things. There are sooooo many way better priced restaurants/bars in the area. Try Napoli. Cítrico cafe and many more spots. The wine pours are not even 5 ounces and they have the audacity to charge $15! This is not mid town Manhattan. The food was alright. Very small crepe for $17. $60 including tip for a small crepe, an aperol spritz (which was awful), and a very weak pour of wine. So many better spots in the area that don’t charge these obscene prices. Server was alright. Place is very tight. Food takes forever. For these prices you would expect something much better. Save your money. I wouldn’t waste my time at this horribly overpriced place. Crepe was alright I guess. But did not leave full.
The restaurant is small and quaint. Food was okay. The quiche was good. Croque monsieur was not. The bread was regular white sandwich bread and there was no flavor. Service was slow. It makes sense since there was only one waitress and one cook during peak Saturday brunch hours. No milk alternatives for your coffee. Menu via QR code. Very hot and humid in the restaurant. The biggest downside truly was having to wait for water, to order, drinks, food, check, etc. I won’t be back.
Truly awful food and slow service. I can only presume many of the patrons here have never been to a good French restaurant, cause this ain’t it. Cheap plating, bland- almost flavorless dishes like the chicken cordon bleu, and barely saturated desert crepes that were a hit or miss depending on which section I ate. Save yourself the hassle and take the train out of Queens.
The food is good. The one star is for the service. I understand there is only one waitress in the restaurant but her service is extremely unacceptable. She ignores us for 10 mins after we sit down. No water no eye contact even we wave our hands multiple times. But she serves another table which come in later than us. She doesn’t remember our order so that makes mistake on asking my husband about the egg styles( she supposed to ask me.) the restaurant space is very small and the kitchen is not isolated, so the smoke is everywhere. Very bad experience. #StopAsianHate
Everything was actually great until my party of 3 went respectively home and 2 of us became ill. It was the only meal we each had all day and exhibited identical symptoms.
Used to be the best quiche I’ve ever eaten but they no longer have layers of fresh pastry dough. Now it’s soggy broccoli. Quality has definitely gone down after just one season. The crepe was also oilier than usual. Only saving grace was the butter sugar
Run down beat up hole in the wall. Let's get crepe-y not creepy! Everyone was seated before me. Did not like the server. When I got there there was no one. Food was amazing, authentic and beautifully presented. This place is so small "you got to outside to change your mind". "Can't swing a dead cat in that place" ... Those are 2 NY sayings for "ITS SMALL". You can't book your family reunion here...not even a basketball team...maybe not even a book club. It's a great date place, it's intimate...it's ugly and has bad lighting so it makes everyone look better.... Bring your date here. It's French, the food is delicious and it's cozy. A refreshing surprise. Eat your food and get out because there aren't many tables and people in Astoria like good food so let's keep it moving people.... go to a cafe or something afterwards!
We were there for brunch it was too loudly. Even I can’t heard my friend who is seat next to me. Eggs nordic I ordered for myself, salmon was very small piece. My friend ordered escargot was delicious.
We were excited to try this new place mainly for the crepes. We went in this morning in a group of 8 and were understandably seated on 2 separate tables since it’s a small place. The server promptly told us that they won’t be serving crepes today and only items from the brunch menu were available. While we were ordering, other tables were all served with crepes quickly, including a table of 4. Confused, we asked the server if crepes are available, her response is for a larger group, they cannot serve crepes for everyone. We were okay to wait longer but simply were not given the option. Also, $20 for this?
