Located conveniently inside Mitsuwa market makes it easy to drop by and get good bread and fun pastries here. My favorite loaf is their Boloniya, a super rich, buttery and absolutely amazing "Denish butter bread," lightly sweet like a pastry Danish, tastes like a croissant, with its Japanese origin. It's the softest Hokkaido milk bread in town. It is made with a roux included in the final dough following the Tangzhong method. It's much better when lightly toasted.
Matcha cake in a cup just had so much matcha flavour and different textures. Loved it.
- The best cream cornet in LA

Matcha soft serve was great! $4.50 for a large heaping scoop of creamy sweet matcha icecream with free toppings! You can’t beat that!!
Incredible pastries. Super fresh. Great customer service. Wish they would open a place like this in the valley.
Awesome selection and good prices, love the matcha frappes

Hamada Ya is a bakery known for its Japanese style savory and sweet pastries and sandwiches housed in the Mitsuwa Food Court on Centinela and Venice Blvd. The Hamada Ya bakery in the Torrance Mitsuwa Market is larger, but the one in Mitsuwa on the Westside has green tea soft serve in addition to baked goods. I can't stand the limited food offerings at the LAX terminal for Virgin America so I usually stop buy here to pick up sandwiches to go such as the egg salad sandwich or the pork cutlet "tonkatsu" sandwich. I also pick up sandwiches and sweets from here when I feel like having Afternoon Tea at home.

Love their breads and pastries. This is my favorite Japanese bakery in terms of taste. One small disappointment during my visit was that a staff member said they couldn’t slice the half loaf of bread I purchased. Full-size sliced loaves of the same bread were available, but the half-size ones were not. Since they have a kitchen in the back, I had assumed slicing would be possible, as this has been my experience at other Japanese bakeries in the Los Angeles area. Other than that, I had no issues with the service. I hope this feedback helps.
The custard here is the best I've had outside of Japan. It's super silky smooth, creamy, and has tons of vanilla seeds swirling throughout. There is even a diggity bomb layer of caramel sauce at the bottom that gets coated all over everything with each spoonful. In addition they sometimes have amazing seasonal items such as grapefruit yogurt tarts and coffee jelly drinks that are pretty much to die for.

You can taste the matcha in the soft serve. The crunchy cereal, mochi and azuki is a great compliment. A must have if you're having dessert in the area.
Staff was very dull, went to ask to buy water They had non. Very inconvenient - convenience stance

No espresso, no matcha. So we ended up ordering a strawberry boba drink. It tasted like strawberry Nesquik with ice and boba. It was not worth the price. We also ordered a strawberry croissant and strawberry cheesecake pastry. Both tasted like they were a couple of days old. And to top it off we dared ask for a couple of forks and napkins which the lovely woman gave us. Albeit, crumpled up, dirty and slammed on the counter like we were not actual paying customers. Therefore, the tip bucket was ignored and my tip safely tucked back into my pocket. Really miss the other vendor with takoyaki and boba drinks now. But sadly they closed up shop.
UPDATED REVIEW! I’ve spent money here and promoted this place but today they refused to give me my one free pastry because my stamps are not on “one” card. See image. You have to spend more than $10 to get a stamp as well. Seriously… Not a fan anymore👎 Chocolate donuts, Boston Cream, and Creme Brulees are our favs. With the boba teas!

Come on here all the time. The product is on spot delicious BUT the service OMG is awful! Almost 10/10. No greeting no smiling no soul those poor baristas or whatever they called themselves are very miserable! Tons of reviews on Google regarding this issue but seems as the owner may be a 100 year old jap that don't have ability to read this reviews. Anyway, you guys can do better! Both the guy and the women (both Spanish) have no personality and straight up rude. Hard to believe for a Spanish people that normally are so warm. Well, there you go, always be back since they have the best pastries in town but wishful that one day I'll be greeted with a new smiley face.
Great bakery and product but stuff who works there are the worst customer service ever . We come here a lot and always the same bad attitude from stuff … today the girl with red hair refused to sell us cream cornet ( it was outside of the fridge)I believe she was still organizing but it was like in front of her… so we asked how long we have to wait and she just mumble something “Like I don’t know “… they need to be more friendly and flexible with customers as they carrying really good bakery . So one star is for customer service and we’ve been going a lot there with the same bad experience
Usually come here for drinks and bread which is fine but today at 11am I happened to ask for ice and the man talked down to me. You can say no nicely? You shouldn’t change your tone based on how much money a customer is spending that day.
They mistakenly gave me an iced coffee when I ordered an iced milk tea. After taking a sip and noticing the error, they flatly refused to replace the item. Baleful, rude and uncaring customer service. Lots of great places to get better products and service. Try Bubble Boba on Ocean Park!
every single time ive been here they can't do any of the drinks that are on their menu. the guy whos always there also seems miserable to be there. the one time i got matcha there was a lit of grains left over and it was overall bland. the bakery items are pretty good but are overpriced
I tried going today for some ice cream 9/07/2021 5-520 pm. I am disappointed with employee. We got there around 450pm and assign was up letting us know that they would be back at 520pm so my wife and decided to shop at the market. Got back to stand 417pm and where patiently waiting. Employee was having lunch with friends and decided she wasn't done with lunch, so she got up and changed the sign and gave her self 10 more minutes. So we decided to leave with no ice cream in hand very disappointed. 😞
I dont care about smiling, but every employee here treats you like they hate you
