Lovely date spot! My partner and I came here on a weeknight for dinner and the staff were so courteous, the food was delicious, and we had a great time! The decorations inside are so intricate, and overall the restaurant has such a fun vibe. Would highly recommend the enchiladas with mole and flautas!

On our way exploring downtown Philadelphia we stumbled upon this restaurant. The ambiance is great and service was good. They had us seated quickly and made sure our food came out fast especially since we had 4 kids with us. As a vegetarian, the menu presented a lot of options and ensured we were super satisfied and full to the brim. The vegetarian tostada was amazing. In addition their house made guacamole and hot salsa were really good too. Kids enjoyed their quesadillas and the enchilada was okay (could have been better). Overall very happy with the spot and would recommend.

This was a wonderful experience. We reserved a table for CCD Restaurant Week. The item menus had great choices to choose from for a three-course meal. The food was delicious, especially the tacos. Our server was very helpful and attentive to our needs during our visit to the restaurant. The atmosphere was colorful and authentic. My eyes glazed over the black and white portraits of various people of Mexico 🇲🇽 I will visit this restaurant again, soon. Gracias, Las Bugambilias!

This place is a gem! I live in the neighborhood, visit often, and have tried various dishes. Each one is delicious, showcasing a perfect balance of flavors and quality ingredients. The chef's creativity and dedication to culinary excellence are evident in every bite. I recently had the pleasure of experiencing excellent service from our server, Alex, during my visit on January 9th. Their attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and prompt responsiveness truly enhanced our dining experience. From start to finish, Alex demonstrated professionalism and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. The recommendations were spot-on, and Alex even spoke to the chef to confirm whether my extra addition to the order would be flavorful and appropriate for the type of dish I was ordering (it would not have been, and they were right). In addition, it was my birthday, so they included with my meal a delicious slice of cheesecake, free of charge. I highly commend this place for its delicious food and great service, and look forward to returning for another enjoyable dining experience. Kudos to an exceptional server and fantastic food!

This is my new favorite place to have Mexican food in Philly. The place has really good food and drink options and I was impressed by their service. I tried the Bugambilias Margarita ( guavava) and virgin pina colada in drinks. Both were good. The staff was super helpful with our questions and helping us pick from menu options. In the appetizers we had Chips and Guacamole. Those were good, not the best Guacamole I have had but it was good. In the main course I picked Molcajete pollo. The dish comes in a stone platter which is really hot, served along with rice. I can recommend that to anyone visiting this place. The quantity is good to share between two people. The place has good ambiance. Restrooms were clean and the place is accessible. I visited on a weekend and the place was busy. Limited seating was available outside. Street parking might be available, depending on the time do the day.

Our friend’s pick this place for our night out and it was a great choice. The atmosphere was really nice. The food was authentic and delicious. Their specialty drinks are a good choice. If you want great Mexican food and a fun night give them a try. You won’t be disappointed. 😊 🌮🎉

We had a very good meal at Las Bugambilias in Aug 2025. On our menu was guacamole and pico, tamales, al pastor tacos, and an enchilada. Our favorites were the tacos and tamales, and while all of the food was good, we did feel like some components could use additional seasoning. The margaritas were completely customizable - liquor, favor, rim. We visited on a quiet night, so the noise volume was low, and the environment was welcoming and well decorated. Our server, Maria, was kind and attentive. Overall we’d definitely recommend and return!

Decided to stop to try the food. Got caught by the happy hour sign thinking it was for the restaurant as a whole. So when we got greeted by the hostess we gave our total and they sat us down In the dinning side. Whe. We asked about the happy hour, they said it was only for the bar side. We were not the only ones who went through this awkward conversation as another couple came in and also asked about the happy hour and were told it was for the bar side only. Recommend hostess ask guest if they want bar or dinning side and state that happy hour is exclusive for bar side only. Simple service communication. On the food and drinks side, everything was good and well seasoned. The chicken mole was good, but the chicken was a little overcooked so it was dry. Don't bother getting the chips and salsa, not worth the money in my opinion, salsas were two 1 oz cups and there was nothing to brag about.

The service was horribly slow, she forgot about 1 of the 2 appetizers we ordered, only refilled water, but she was very nice and friendly. The FOOD WAS AWESOME!!!! I can not say enough about the food. The flavor, portions, and appearance were on point. The slow service is the reason why I didn't give it a 5 ⭐. If the food wasn't as good as it was and it was great I would have given it 1 or 2 ⭐. I will/would eat again... maybe it was just slow service due to the server.

Called in to order 2 quarts of mole; was told it would be $10/quart ($20 total). The mole is good. What wasn't good was that after traveling across town on a bus, they told me my total was actually going to be $37. I didn't have enough cash to cover the difference, so I had to pay by card (and eat the credit card surcharge - new total: $38). After hopping on a bus back home, I realized they had only given me 2 pints (half of what I ordered). I went back and they fixed their error, but talk about an awful introduction to a restaurant I was excited to bring my family to when they visit.

With no malice in my heart I must ask how does this place stay in business. I have been to numerous Mexican restaurants around the Philly area and there have been places that I didn’t particularly like but this place was just sad. The horchata was watered down and flavored by what tasted like fake cinnamon candies. Every entree we got was flavorless even lacking the basic level of salt that any restaurant should be able to do. If you are reading this ignore what must be 100s of fake reviews and go to anywhere else for dinner.
