Boris is an exceptional attendant. He interacts with people and ensures that they are always take care of. His attitude and demeanor is always calm and consistent. When I go there I always look for him and see if any tables are available in his area. Please give this man a shout out and some recognition. Food was hot and fresh and plentiful (except fried fish but that goes quickly), food area cleaned and maintained. The only thing negative I can say about this place is the restrooms need a THOROUGH cleansing, maybe an overhaul. It stinks and I feel grossed out when using the facilities. I’ve used truck stops that were better maintained. I get it no one likes to clean the restrooms especially after someone else. Edit: returned a week later the restrooms were noticeably cleaner.

My wife and I rarely eat at Golden Corral, but we decided to drop in. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food, service, and cleanliness. Edgar was our server, and along with the value, will have us come back much sooner than later.

I haven't been to golden corral in years. It's better now than I remember. Service is great. Amanda attended to us and was so sweet and helpful. And the food was excellent. My husband said the steaks here were better than other places to get steaks. Sooooo good!

Early afternoon on Sunday it's crowded but worth the wait in line. Plenty of fresh food. Be aware of the youngsters running wild. Also, be tolerant of people breaking line to join a group.

This is my go to golden corral in the state the food is always hot and fresh when I go I usually go around lunch time and gotta say the highlight for me is the little slider burgers white castle would be jealous only thing is I'm not a huge fan of the dessert options they can be kind of bland which is ok because I usually fill up on protein and don't have any room left for it

We went here for thanksgiving dinner since just two of us. There was a line but the service was quick and we enjoyed all the holiday dishes without having to cook.

My husband was the reason I went since I'm not a big buffet person, but I am so glad I did! Lola greeted us at the door and provided the most excellent restaurant customer service. She made us feel like family with her friendliness and positivity, even our baby got excited interacting with her. After we got seated, our server Nancy was absolutely wonderful and efficient. We were checked on frequently as well as the tables around us, and she even helped me find a salad dressing when neither my husband nor I could find it. I know one Google review probably isn't enough to persuade management into giving them raises, but I hope y'all consider it. They both have created very loyal customers, and I can't wait to come back for above-and-beyond service and the best fried chicken and chicken fried steak in town!

I went to Golden Corral and WOW!! I was honestly a little scared to come because of my last experience a while back, but I’m so glad I gave it another chance! I had the steak, mac and cheese, a dinner roll, made myself a fresh salad, and for dessert I tried the brownies, coconut cream pie, and carrot cake. EVERYTHING was soooo good!! The steak was a 10/10—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, and the desserts tasted homemade! My server was awesome—super friendly and on top of everything. Great service makes such a difference! Golden Corral definitely redeemed itself. I’ll be back! 🙌🍽️

It had been YEARS since I had been to GC. The food was surprisingly very good. The catfish is some of the best I've had in town. I would definitely recommend giving them another try, if like me, you hadn't been in ages and remember it being run down and less than appetizing. We will be back.

Our waitress was phenomenal but so the food tastes like it has no seasoning. If you go when they have steak, the guy cooking it will always give you the most well done, over cooked piece, regardless of what you ask for. The options are nice and it's a nice place to bring your family. I'll definitely return but the food needs some help.

This is definitely the place to go if you are hungry and want to fill up! The food is good and has a lot of varieties. Just don't expect perfection. One of the stews I tried was far over salted. Some of the vegetables over cooked in an other dish and the chocolate ice cream had a strange taste but I had no belly ache after so I will say I left a very happy customer and my teenage son was actually full!

Golden Corral had free buffet for veterans on Veterans Day. Most of the food was really good but they were cooking steaks and the steak I got was overcooked and too tough to eat. With it being all you can eat buffet I just went and got something else. The rest of the food was really good and I did overeat. The service was fantastic. The servers were very friendly and my drink never was empty.

All the food was hot and all members of the staff were working very hard to keep everything clean and stocked. We had an amazing waitress who made us feel right at home. I scored the atmosphere low because this facility looks very well used and could use a facelift. Service and food was amazing though.

The only thing I didn't like is that I travel over 2 hour's literally to eat with my mom and there's certain hour's they run the grill for steak and on certain day's. I believe I went on a Friday around 2 and there was nothing in meat wise.

I honestly only gave a 4 star review cause of our server Erica honestly she was a really hard worker and so kind!! She deserves every table, from asking us if we needed anything constantly to just being a good person overall! Especially compared to other servers around us she really stood out, but as for food while it was mid par at best and not many choices at all! I had not been to Golden Corral in about 13 years and I had been thinking about it for a few days so invited a friend to go with me. We were greeted by Lola at the front who was just lovely and I would give her 5 stars because she did her job wonderfully and was just so sweet. Our waitress was Amanda and she was also awesome and sweeter than pie. Kept our drinks filled and checked on us throughout. Most everything was great but some of the food was maybe a bit more chewy(cut to ask steak) or soggy(cooked broccoli and carrots at the salad bar) than I think should have been the case. I enjoyed coming to a place I hadn’t been to since my grandparents passed and I think my experience does leave open the door to come back in the future. I do recommend this Golden Corral.

Back in my days as a wee Lil lad I would come here often. The breakfast was amazing with the fresh waffles and on-demand omelets, I would load my toppings for the omelets! The lunch and dinner selections are also good with a good amount of variety like pizza or steak or even some catfish. Gets 1 star knocked off due to price increase but no new selections to make up for.

We came here during a holiday, so it was extremely busy, but overall, the staff seemed to handle all the people well. Most of the food was available despite all the people and the food serving areas were clean. It only took a few minutes to get steak. I did hope that the server could have come by more often. The refill water tasted much better than the original water given by the door after you pay. The ice cream was a nice treat too. For our first Golden Corral experience, it was quite good.

It really let us down this time! The food was not good the steak was burnt and rare on the inside. Wings were old. Just over all we were not impressed! Kids were screaming and people that were eating there were just rude.

I have been a long time customer of Lubbock Golden Coral , I like many others have their favorite servers who treat us well . But a new lady manager decided to shake things by moving servers around and tweeking their schedules .I talked to her on the phone and I got the very real feeling she was not being honest . she told me that they requested the change really who request shorter hours ? They will end up running off their best help and we their loyal customers will follow. I hope I can get a hold of corp office to give them my opinion. I heard a rumor that a new buffet is coming to Lubbock although I will miss Golden Coral.

It is my one last desire that Golden corral bring the hot fudge brownie dessert. I am fully convinced that this dessert brought people together of every Creed, color and nationality. This dessert alone could have ended racism. Just thinking about this dessert hot fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream brings tears to my eyes. I hope that people in this comment section will agree. I dont go there much, but never had a problem. I got the teriyaki chicken and it was extremely salty, their ranch dressing tasted like mayonnaise, mac and cheese was really greasy. Our waitress was sweet, and the staff kept it clean.

It's a hit or miss some days. We love it, especially miss Amanda. She is the sweetest! The dude on the grill flat out refuses to work at times. My parents come here every time they go to Lubbock for my dad's doctors appointments. When they stopped in on June 23rd at around 1:45pm the cashier told them they did not give military discounts to veterans, as stated this is not their first time here and have always been given the discount. The cashier said they only give it to active duty military which is false. My dad is a 100% disabled veteran who did not deserve the rude attitude from this cashier. Other than that the food is good as always and the server as well.

The salad bar was mostly empty. The waitress set a dirty plate on the table an inch away, from a plate that someone at my table was eating from to pick up napkins from our table. I don't mind her picking things up but do not set a plate from another table down from where we are eating.

I can remember when there was a time that Golden corral had amazing food and the amount was pretty reasonable for all you can eat Now the food comes out of bags If you're going for steak or meat forget about it! The steak is fat! The roast and everything else is flavorless! Save your money and don't eat here!

The food quality and service has dramatically improved in the last year, but I wish they could wash the plates and silverware. They started putting the silverware in little paper bags presumably to stop people from picking through it to find clean ones, but more often than not the forks still have food attached. The bowls and cups are still completely wet when they come out. The plastic plates have deep cuts and chips with food permanently encrusted in them and every third or so plate looks like it came straight from the dirty pile. This has been an ongoing issue since the management change and has only been getting worse.

The cashier was very rude. I was told by a staff member i could get cash back for a tip and that they also had an atm. The staff member said i didn't have to use the atm and then the cashier told me i would have to buy something else besides the 40 bucks i already spent to get cash so no tip for the server due to the cashier. Staff was talking about how nasty the food was while we were filling our plates. I had to get a refund for the extra 7.99 I paid for lobster that never came. It was the worst golden coral I've ever eaten at between 3 different states.

I was visiting Lubbock for an appointment and figured I'd try this place out. Unfortunately I will not be returning. Many of the dishes were not clean. I had to pull a few plates off to find some with no food stuck to it on both front and bottom. The bowls by the desserts were no different. Food wasn't worth the $29 for me and my kid. It ranged from Over cooked, burnt, no flavor to cold. . Our server was the only nice thing about the place really. Will not return here and warned a Friend who is staying in Lubbock for a couple years to avoid this location.... Terrible food, bottom of the barrel people there, and the worst one I have ever eaten at. Also, I hope you like windex in your food because they are more worried about the glass being clean then the food being poisoned.

My server Carrie was great. On the other hand I had to pull a hair out of my mouth from the salad, my server brought it to the managers attention. He didn't come talk to us at all, my server reported back that the manager said he would have a meeting with his staff tonight about prep. Spent 43$ for my appetite to be ruined. Not only that they were not using FIFO and just dumping fresh food on top of old food. Their stacks of plates were filthy. Poor management skills.

When I showed the coupon to the cashier, she just said “I need to see your ID”. No eye contact or anything l, just rudely asked. She called, who I assume the manager, to the front. I guess they don’t get the birthday coupons often because he took out his calculator to see what he had to subtract off the total. But not once did he look up or tell us anything. But we went ahead and paid for the other 3 buffets after they figured out the total. But still had to deal with rude attitude. Not even a thank you after we paid. Just a sign here and here’s your receipt. At the table our waitress just seemed annoyed when we asked for refills. The food selection wasn’t the best. I remember them having so much more but the spaghetti noodles were slimy and sticky. Like they had been in water forever. The grilled fish was dry. The ribs were dry and flaky. The rolls were hard. It just wasn’t what we expected. It seems like no one cares and it bothers them when you ask for anything. Use to be a go to spot but this was just an awful experience.

Dishes were dirty in several different locations. The plates near the salad and where you get your plates for buffet and silverware was dirty. I talked to the manager on duty and she told me she would check them but she didn't go check to see if they were dirty and when I was leaving I went by the plates near the salad and they still had dried food on them. Gm was a short fat rude #sshole for starters. Food not being temped,and or frozen within reach of customers. No gloves used.didn't see prep times on food.more than half of the staff either using foul language ,even in front of children.or talked about inappropriate or explicit things out loud. My husband and I had dinner at Golden Corral 7-20-25 Sunday around 8:15-8:30pm, I am allergic to shell fish went to the soups they had the label wrong above the soups so I figured I was eating broccoli and cheese it was clam chowder instead, talked to manager all she said they didn’t tell the waitress to change the label. I have my epi-pen with me always, my lip started tingling and getting a little difficult to breathe but my husband got me home and took a Benadryl if I didn’t feel better he told me we can go to the hospital. 2/26/26- This was my second visit at this golden corral location with my boyfriend during lunch hours. Here’s a list of things that went wrong. 1. No Veterans discount (only active military) 2. Selection of meat was mostly pork and bbq chicken (no steak til 4) 3. Found that out from the rude old man cooking the pork steaks where I didn’t see him change his gloves or wash his hands. 4. Plates and silverware were dirty 5. Last but not least, my boyfriend currently has food poisoning which proves they are causing cross contamination. DO NOT GO HERE! There is a review on here from a chef that exposes the raw pork and chicken with pictures. Save your money!

On the Golden Corral website it states that all locations have a veterans discount and this restaurant did not honor that and told me it was “by location”. Food was hardly edible and not a great selection. Have given this location a try a on at least three different occasions and each time was not a good experience. Will not be returning to this establishment in the future and finally decided to leave the horrible review it deserves.

Raw pork steaks, raw fish and raw chicken. Ruined my appetite. I did pull a manager to the side but all she said was okay. I am a chef and deal with food daily so seeing this is very alarming and everyone could get sick. I would never come back here again due to 1 the manager not caring and 2 the food still being out on the line not bothering to even look at it or temo it. The chicken was cold and bloody. The pork steak was raw the fish was raw. So please reconsider and will be reaching out to health department.
