I don't really throw out five stars very often, but this, this is 5stars. Walked in and was immediately greeted and felt welcomed by the (I'm assuming) general manager, Toddrick. He was very helpful and explained everything to me considering it was our first time. Very reasonable prices too! The salad bar to start was phenomenal, everything on the line was fresh and there was a lot of options in terms of toppings and dressings. Next was bread and pizza and that's always a nice filler, bread was hot n fresh. Soup was right after, and there was 6ish options so nice variety! Baked potatoes, tacos, spaghetti and even ice cream. A little bit of everything, for everyone. Also my water was ice cold and very tasty 🌊🧊. All in all a great experience, I'd love to come back.

Big wonderful salad bar with everything you can imagine! Fresh and clean and well stocked. Pizza, baked potato bar, homemade soups (I love the vegetable beef, it's just like my grandma used to make) spaghetti and Alfredo as well. Don't skip on the blueberry bread! Great service and the owner is always there to greet you as you walk in. My whole family loves it!!

I have been going here for 15 years and never had a bad experience. Continuous excellent service, and the place is always clean & sanitary. The food is always fresh, with lots of healthy variety. I must say the manager is extremely hard working and runs a tight ship! He is always helping his staff with any and everything! We will continue to come here frequently. We love our SOUPER SALAD!!

It's a buffet, so you get to make your own plate, but they have a server that comes and checks on you and takes drink orders. Ours was a sweetheart. Food is always good and fresh. Highly recommend smothering a baked potato in their broccoli cheese soup.

I went here all the time as a kid at a different location. I stopped here during a road trip, 10/10 exactly as I remember it. Good variety of soups, salad fixings, and of course ice cream and strawberry goo. I would highly recommend stopping by. Cheap too!

This is my mom & Is favorite restraunt to go to together for our mom and daughter dates! We went a few days ago and the food was awesome! The fruits and veggies tasted so fresh. Bread sticks had a great garlicly taste. So many options! We really enjoyed. My favorite part is the little cake pieces with the strawberry topping! YUM! Our waitress was attentful and I saw her carry so many dishes on one arm that was impressive. I wasn't a fan of the Mac and cheese but everything was yummy. It was super packed and loud but they are popular for good reason so that's understandable.

This became one of my favorite places to eat from the first visit. Everything about it feels homey and welcoming and the food has never been bad while I've been there. Each employee seems to genuinely enjoy being there as well which helps the atmosphere

Upon arrival, you pay at the door and sit wherever. They bring you drinks and silverware. Great place to eat salad until your content. They offer soups that vary on season. Offer additional items like tacos and pizza, but there are not many choices on those. Chris is our amazing server.

The bread selection was good and complimentary of the soups they were serving. How can you go wrong making your own salad? They had the freshest ingredients, and they were mostly cut to an appropriate size for a salad. The salad toppings were abundant. I wish they had used more pickles in their Thousand Island dressing. Overall, I love this place and will be back over and over!

We had been in Lubbock for 2 weeks for a medical issue with a family member. Had no time to go out anywhere to eat and we were tired of heavy take out. Door dash gets expensive. we all decided on something simple and fresh. Was 100% impress with this place. Salad was always stocked, dressings were always up to brim. soups looked warm and fresh as well. Loved the little extra touches for the kiddos like Pizza and bread sticks and desserts too! place was very clean. Staff was friendly as well. Didnt get the gentlemans name that was at the register up front who went out of his way to show us how the line operated cause we told him we werent from Lubbock. He was very friendly, had a smile on his face and very attentive to the everyone that walked in. 5 stars to all!! This place is great for a “healthy” meal choice. Until I add a ton of ranch to the salad and other things they have to offer. But it really is a good choice for a healthy meal. They have several soups that are really good. They also offer a couple of pizza choices.

Really tasty cafeteria style restaurant with very attentive staff. The salad bar has loads of fresh options as well as pasta salad, tuna, salad, etc. Hot foods include not only an array of soup (tomato, tamale, cheese and broccoli, vegetable, Italian, meatball) but also baked potatoes with Fixin’s, spaghetti, a couple of styles of pizza, and a hardshell taco bar. Great place where you can eat healthy and eat heartily. Staff are constantly circulating through the dining room to provide extra napkins, top up your drink or clear away plates. They also keep the salad bar restocked and wiped down. There’s a senior discount and it’s also very child friendly with high chairs. Definitely a great family place to ea!

We left the house wanting to try a place that we hadn't been...all the while, and nice salad, some clam chowder, and a taco were all burning in my mind. Turns out, this one one of the best, if not the best decisions that I made all week! The atmosphere with the big band and swing music set a festive tone. The service was absolutely top notch, and last but not least, the FOOD! I like to think that we're eating healthy while at the ole S or S, but the shear quantity of deliciousness was off the charts. It is a welcome change of pace. I like their blue cheese dressing with extra crumbles on top. The lettuce and all the toppings were extremely fresh. The serving ares were very clean with staff restocking, cleaning and taking care of you at the table often during lunch. They are busy but it flows well. Try the strawberry shortcake for dessert.

First, I'd like to recognize the black gentleman that was working the register. He is always polite, kind, welcoming and sets the stage for a pleasant experience. He is genuine in his concern for customers and always makes me feel as if I'm their most important customer, which I'm sure he does for all of his guests. We ate here for Father’s Day and our server was Kellen, he was very attentive to our drinks and was quick to clear empty plates. The food was delicious, the buffet was clean and the ingredients looked well maintained and not like they had been sitting forever. The bathroom was super clean and well kept. My mother and I had lunch there today. The waitress was awesome, as was the food and food choices. If I had a complaint at all, it is that the "taco bar", had no lettuce or tomatoes. It did have Mac n cheese, which I found odd.

Great choice! Building your own salad is the best option for anyone, especially when my daughter's trying to eat healthy. We definitely enjoyed our own salad. We sampled two types of pasta. The fettuccine pasta was quite dry, but the tuna pasta salad was really great. It was creamy and super fresh. The pepperoni pizza square didn't have a lot of pizza sauce on a thin crust, so it was really good. The beef vegetable soup was okay. I think the company used imitated meat because it definitely wasn't beef stew meat or ground beef. However, the chicken enchilada soup was really good. We also ate plain crispy tacos and mac n cheese shells, which was very cheesy and creamy. Lastly, the watermelon slices were ripe and sweet.

Amazingly, exactly the same as 15 years ago when we visited. Pretty fresh veggies, but sliced super thick and large. Tomatoes were mealy. Pizza had been sitting out for awhile. Tomato soup was good. Clean.

Great concept - very good food - POOR execution. I made a 1st time visit to the Lubbock store this evening (at about 5:30pm). I entered and NO ONE was up front to greet or orient me to the restaurant. I wandered towards the trays and plates and was stopped by an employee who curtly said "we can help you back here" (by the register) - again - 1st time visit, I had no idea of the process. I volunteered that to the employee and rather than welcome and orient me, she just led me back to the register, took my money and offered NO further guidance!! I again told them I didn't know the process and figured out on my own that they serve the food. I got my food, chose a table, sat down and no one had told me where the silverware was - an employee pointed me to it and as I was getting it, another CHILD employed there (WAY too many YOUNG kids working there) tried to intercept me as I GUESS it was HER responsibility to get me the silverware. As I ate my meal, she made NO effort to visit to see how things were, whether I needed more napkins, etc. When it came time for dessert, I stood by that area for at least 3-4 minutes before an employee bothered to come from the back area. The restaurant was NOT swamped - one child (employee) was even so busy she had time to play with her smart watch. Needless to say, I left NO tip. Again - the food is good (very good for the price), but your employees are NOT well trained, POORLY motivated, and in general NOT an asset to your business. I'm a traveler, so I won't be back to this store, but I would HOPE you have higher employment standards than what I saw at this store. Only 1 employee stood out as efficient, above and beyond and a "worker" - he was a young, thin black man. The rest are honestly WORTHLESS.

I ate there today. I wanted a good baked potato most of all. The potato was stale. I shouldn't have eaten it. I couldn't eat the vegetable soup because of that seasoning they put in it. The watermelon was mushy. Everything else was normal to be expected from there. When I get my water the way I want it with the lemon, I don't want her to keep adding more water to it. That's a nuisance. I won't go back for a while.

For the price this restaurant charges, I think a drink should be included but the food was really good & our server was fantastic, running his tailend off but handled everybody. They really could use more people to hand out drinks & silverware. Customers shouldn't have to sit & wait for someone to bring silverware.

It's salad. I don't know what I expected from a salad bar but it was a salad bar. They had some different varieties of soup, none that I could really eat because they were all not diabetic friendly at all. The only reason we chose this place is because of the salads. Honestly, I get better salads from the selection at different stores that are pre-made. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't the super fresh and great like I thought it would be.

Wasn't very impressed with my visit. I quickly realized nothing was actually cooked here. Warmed up, that may be. Cooked, no. When we (wife and i) first got there, the spring mix for the salad was empty. They had iceberg and spinach. Iceberg is just crisp water. Raw spinach in large amounts does not react well with my digestion. So I made do as it is a buffet. I figured I would start with other stuff and come back for a massive salad. It never got refilled. As we went there for salads, this sucked. The pizza was just warmed up, not cooked there. If you have ever had Circle k pizza, this was very similar. I'm guessing the same factory made both. Thr taco meat came out of a bag. If you know, you know. I've eaten a lot of cheap food through the years, and this was more of it. All the soups were canned. Again, if you know, you know. I was a Batchelor till I was 42, trust me. I really don't know how this place is a thing, but Taco Bell has been doing the same for a very long time, so I guess. For 2 buffets and 2 waters, it was $25. We could have eaten a lot better for that much. I'm not trying to trash it, just explaining what you will get. The 3 stars are fair for what it is. The actual salad bar is what you should expect at somewhere like a steak house that still has a salad bar. It is all basics. Chick fil-a has better salads. I had been wanting to try it for a long while, and I did. Itch scratched. No longer on my list, so at least there's that.

A lot of reviews mention Fresh Food. Can't get any more fresh than fresh greens and veggies. An establishment named Souper Salad wouldn't be very successful by providing wilted lettuce and brown veggies. My first time here, establishment lives up to it's name Soup or Salad. Don't expect much else....some pizza and pasta. I always heard it was a great buffet. WRONG! It's literally Soup and Salad! 😆 I'm not upset with the establishment. Everything is great. But it's a bit pricey for soup, salad, conchas, and carbs. #CarbCentral I'm mad at myself for buying into the hype. 😬

I can't understand why anyone would like this place. I asked my elderly Mother where she wanted to go for her Birthday. I can guarantee neither one of us will go back here. I ordered the salad with chicken. I got a half cooked chicken patty and it was cold. In remembering the days of Sweet Tomatoes, we saw this place on a trip out here and decided to give it a try. Soups and “ground beef” were poured out of hot plastic bags. Breadsticks were stale. Spaghetti noodles were soggy and over cooked. Pizza was cold. Soft serve was more like ice-serve. My kids even said the best thing there was the soda, and they eat typically anything. I’m not sure why this place is so highly rated other than the fact that most of the customers are over 80 and their tastebuds are non-existent.
