This place left me speechless. The food was amazing. Everything was cooked too perfection

This small joint nestled in madera has to be the best mexican restaurant in this town. Compa Franks is by far the most authentic I've come across. In addition to the amazing Mexican cuisine they also serve Mariscos and Mexican sushi. Our first dining experience was amazing we ordered all the Fan Faves ,surf and turf style Fajitas , Auga chilies and a deep fried sushi roll. All of these dishes were cooked and prepared to perfection.The Staff was so friendly and the owner visited our table to make sure everything was to our liking including the tables around us. This type of dedication and Love for Cooking is very much appreciated. Thank you again Compa Franks for filling our belly's With the best comfort food Madera has to offer.

This steakhouse is a culinary paradise! The service was swift and hospitable, and the recommendations were spot-on. The steak, an absolute work of art, melted in my mouth. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with dim lighting that created an intimate atmosphere. Whether it's a date night or special occasion, this place delivers a remarkable dining experience.

Just returned from dinner. We are outside and had the sushi. It was very good but we can't wait to try the fajitas! They were always being ordered and they smelled so good! The staff is very nice. Give them a shot!

Food is rich in flavor and delicious. Service is fast for the the quality and very friendly staff. We go there every chance we're in town.

Food is top tier. The staff are friendly and the owner makes you feel welcome and even goes out of his way to ask how everything was and wish you a great day. Great place, highly recommended! Edit - my review hasn't changed, still an amazing place with great food!

This was the first time my son Henry and I visited compa franks. Off the beaten path here in Madera. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality not to mention the taste which was fantastic. I highly recommend. Friendly service. Waitress even took time to explain what the dishes were. Come one come all you won't be disappointed

This place was new to me a couple weeks ago. Walking in the place is clean and welcoming. The waitresses are so nice and very attentive. The Chilaquiles are SO GOOD I had to come back again. I brought more of my family and everyone loved all the food we had. The owner is so nice. He checked on our table to see how we liked our food. Everyone who works here seems so happy to be here. The food looks and is very delicious. Even my picky eater loved her cheeseburger and fries. This will definitely be one of our go to restaurants.

I had a wet burrito. It was a nice large portion. The waitress was not over baring or forgetful as it was very busy. It was busy but we weren't forgotten. Food came pretty quick. Wasn't super noisy so you can talk and hear each other when talking. And I can't just can't get over how busy they were and how professional, prompt, nice, attention to detail when drinks were needed.

Food and customer service was absolutely amazing. Everything was a 10/10👍!

This place is sooo good. My family went there today for the first time and we will definitely be going back. My brother called ahead of time to reserve a table because we were such a big group. It was nice to see that they were willing and able to accommodate all of us. The entire staff is super friendly and the food is excellent. Everyone ordered something different. You get so much food. If you have never been there you definitely need to go. You will not be disappointed.

That was the best hamburger 🍔 I've ever eaten! I got the Menace Burger and am very impressed. Lots of cheese w avocado on top. I had to eat it with a fork which was unique. I also like the mom n pop vibe here in Madera not feeling cookie cutter and corporate owned (I'm from Fresno).

I went off of the reviews and tried Compa Frank’s. Kind of hidden but worth the search. I wanted to try what I was told was popular. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito the I always order everywhere else. I was very happy with the polite service, order was quick and the bottle Coke with my burrito was excellent! Definitely recommend!👍🏽

The mocajete sauce is the best in California. Must try!!! Hidden gem slowly growing. Definitely reccomend. Any of the mocajetes 10/10. Oysters 10/10. Id assume this is a motivated family business. Saw them being very extra about service, food quality and cleanness. I will 100% be back. Highly recommend the fajitas or mocajete's.

Frank is the most welcoming owner! He really cares about every single plate that is served. You can catch him cooking up plates at all three of his restaurants. All run by members of his family - including his son and his wife! Five stars aren't enough!

Really good food! Would recommend for everyone to try it! Got the shrimp cocktail this time, i also have had the molcajete in the past . It will fill you up! Well worth checking it out! Delicious!

6/2/24 Update: It's been a while since we last visited. We've visited again & this time with my brother. We wanted to treat him. We've heard recommendations concerning the mex sushi. We tried it for the 1st time this time around. Let me tell you...YUMMMMM!!!! It didn't disappoint. Our kiddos had regular fries, nuggets & burger, fries. I had 3 tacos de lengua (tongue tacos), my hubby had the asada quesadilla & he chose to add rice with beans. My brother had the al pastor quesadilla on its own (though they added a mini lettuce pile). We got & shared a California roll among us 3 adults. Again we don't come often cuz the total tab was a lot for a family of 5 (See pic with receipt). This time around we got to chat, interact & meet the actual Compa Frank (owner). He is such a down to earth guy, super friendly, funny, makes you feel like family. He had a saying he'd tell every table in Spanish as he was going around, "the food we make is bad, but at least we make it from the heart. And as long as you leave here with a smile." 10/14/23: My family and I are so happy to have found this place locally. I've previously read in a review that it's a hidden gem, well I agree. It really is a hidden gem. The food is incredible. The atmosphere awesome! They have 2 TV's playing sports. We went on a Saturday afternoon. Their cuisine is Mexican food & Mexican style sushi. The food is delicious. When dining in you'll get salsa & chips. The salsa was okay, not much flavor. Not spicy at all either. They do have a children menu part on the main menu. It is a bit pricey but it's worth it. We ordered a main menu item & had rice with beans added. The total was pricey. We don't visit often because of the price but a once in a while visit is worth it.

One Word!! 🔥FIRE 🔥 My husband loves The FAJITA beef,chicken and shrimp 🍤 😋 The frank roll is 💣 Bomb And the Molcajetes opened my pellet with authentic flavors 😋 I love how they cut the flour tortillas..Also the corn tortillas are homemade, she makes them every morning.. Hats off to the chips and salsa maid just the we love it!! We will definitely be back..it's worth the 30 minute drive.. The waitresses kept our cups full..And thier smiles 😃 were on point!!😃 It's a family owned restaurant..We back again 2026 and more to add to this review !!

They need to adjust business hours. Driving from Fresno we arrived at 8:30 (Google indicated open til 9:00) but they were closed. I’ve been here before, I love the shrimp tacos… Best in the Central Valley. Also, their “pot” of hot shrimp, Asada, and chicken is sooo delicious! Staff is friendly… great hole in the wall place!

While the other molcajetes taste good, I find then a bit too salty and the TO GO version have way less topping that the one you eat at the restaurant BUT price wise still the same plus in order to put a bit less stuff they added the Nopal that for me ruin the whole thing.

They have very good ceviche and Mexican style sushi. They have really good flavors on there seafood tostada's. If you like spicy food our you have a hangover, this is the place to come to. The sushi is fried and flavorful.

Bought 8 tacos. Spent $28 plus tip and they were super plain. No Salsa on the side like we asked.. when I called they couldn't even make it right..could of at least say next time I got you on a free taco or something lol..

Got a michelada and the cup was filled with ice instead of beer tasted like water, kinda disappointing if you’re paying 12 dollars. Definitely not coming back.

Was very disappointed with this place!! I ordered a Chile verde burrito. It was a good size but extremely salty. I drank my drink completely before I was halfway through my burrito. Other people walked in that knew the owner & we feel they catered to their every need...even giving them complementary drinks!! Not once did the they offer us refills on our drinks.....untill we were ready to leave. I even told the girl, I wanted a refill earlier!! I was gonna leave my leftover burrito, but I ended up taking it home for our dogs to share!! If you know the owner, your chances of being waited on hand & foot are better than if your someone off the street.
