I’m so glad I decided to stop here! Out of all the places I’ve visited during my two days in Madrid, this one truly stood out. Outstanding, we spent nearly 3 hours with friends here whilst our toddler napped. The food was incredible, great pimientos de padron and the service was fantastic. They were brilliant with our 3 year old when she woke up, super kid friendly, well worth a visit while you watch the city go by.

I recently visited La Junta, a bar with a great terrace and prime location in Madrid. While the setting itself is nice for enjoying the ambiance of the city, the experience was overshadowed by the attitude of the staff. Unfortunately, they seem to prioritize quick turnover over customer experience, which leaves a lot to be desired. As a local, it’s disappointing to see how tourism seems to be influencing their approach. The staff is not particularly welcoming, and there’s an unspoken pressure to keep ordering drinks rather than just relax and enjoy the atmosphere. If you’re looking to sit back with one drink and take in the surroundings, don’t expect to feel comfortable here. La Junta could be a fantastic spot, but the pushy service takes away from what should be a more relaxed experience.

Cerveceria La Junta was a wonderful experience. First, Tony our waiter was so accommodating, friendly and attentive. As was Diego. The food was absolutely delicious. Especially the octopus with spicy potatoes and the sea bass baked in salt. Sitting in the plaza people-watching and eating and sipping wine at La Junta was a true joy.

Our waiter made us feel so welcome and suggested wonderful food and drink. Over the course of two meals, we enjoyed their croquettes, prawns, shrimp tacos, sangria, and paella. Over the course of two meals, we stretched out our stays to follow our waitstaff's recommendations, all of which were stellar. The food was cooked to perfection, the sangria delicious and refreshing. Service was friendly and engaging, making us feel right home. We wished we could stay longer to keep coming here. Highly recommended.

Wow. I happened to be walking by in search of something unique, and this place didn’t disappoint. The service was on point - Tony was exceptional. I didn’t want to think about what to order, so I just took his recommendations. Everything was beyond delicious. The atmosphere is full of energy, and being a solo traveler, is so important. If you’re in Madrid, stop by and enjoy! I had the scallops and sea bass.

Atmosphere and food a solid 10/10, though a little expensive. There were no tables left outside so I sat inside waiting for someone to go and one of the waiters offered to get another table and prepare it for me to eat. It wasn’t that crowded, it was the perfect atmosphere for a city and it was precious, I loved it.

Camilo was super helpful and fun, when ordering he was very patient as our Spanish was very basic. Very fast and attentive. He recommended the Sangria over the tinto so of course we listened and it was so good. We ordered 5 things off the the raciones: the chicken skewer, the ham croquettes, the squid, the goat salad, and the meat tacos. Everything was amazing and fresh and perfect. He even grabbed us a table outside mid-meal and carried my aunts purse to help. Super good guy. Definitely ask for him if you go!

Ideal para comer o cenar de tapeo. Comida de muy buena calidad (no excesivamente cara para lo buena que esta y la ubicación excelente en la que se encuentra). Lo único regular es que te meten mucha prisa por marchar (nos dieron 1h para cenar). Recomiendo los tacos de langostinos, los calamares a la andaluza, la ensalada de tomate con ventresca y los huevos rotos con jamón! Adjunto el tíquet para ver precios!

Lo encontramos por casualidad deambulando por el barrio de Malasaña. En la plaza de San indefenso. El servicio inmejorable. Florián? El mejor barman que estos ojos vieron en años. PROFESIONAL. Estuvimos 2 h. No paró de trabajar y con precisión quirúrgica. Su colega Leo igual. Bravo! Ambiente agradable. Cómodo. Volveríamos? Pues sí. Mi gran amiga Bora y yo, hemos vuelto. "ColayBora" volvimos. Porque lo merece. Tapas variadas y mediterráneas. Vengan! Por qué no..?

Our first meal in Madrid, perchanced upon this establishment while walking around the neighborhood. A relatively new place, we were told that it opened about 9 months ago. Being novices ourselves, thinking that it was a tapas menu, ordered for dishes. Each dish was a full meal 😂. Got 3 delicious dishes, the traditional salad was fresh, crisp and the tomatoes were plump and juicy. The grilled beef was really good too, the fats were rendered properly and the sea salt heightened the flavors. But the star was definitely the oxtail stew, the meat was tender and falling of the bones. Just amazing. Didn’t quite enjoy the prawn tacos, although the prawns were fresh and juicy, the combination of the sauces were a bit funky and the prawns were not deveined, not sure whether that’s how they do it here. Service was fast and the waiting staff were friendly and made suggestions on what to order.

De vez en cuando voy a La junta y siempre muy bien todo. Ayer hemos empezado muy bien, nos atendió un camarero super simpático llamado Juan José, el trato majo y agradable. Pero en general el sitio ha pecado, en traernos la cuenta sin que la hubiésemos pedido. Aunque estábamos a punto de irnos. Había un amigo que aun tenia la última cerveza por la mitad y me ha parecido un gesto inducido por un encargado o dueño, hacia el camarero, que estaba impecable, pero la ha "ca..." al final con este gesto. Por eso doy 3 estrellas. Espero cambiar la reseña un día.

En plena plaza. El servicio es rápido y atento. La comida está bien, pedimos menús y la comida estaba bien. Antes de pedir nos trajeron una ración de paella.

La verdad es que la comida está bien pero sin más. Nada especial. El pan de la tapa muy duro. Los vinos están buenos pero lo consideramos caros. No entiendo como nos combran servicio 1,50€. Sobre los vinos a 6€ es cierto que nos pusieron jarras y no estaba mal pero ni siquiera preguntaron, cuando vimos vinos en otras mesas servidos en copa. Nos atendieron rápido, eso sí, aunque los pobres se nota que estaban muy agobiados. Los camareros evidentemente tienen 0 culpa y poco que reprochar pero ese precio para un solo plato y comer algo 2 personas lo veo abusivo.

Precio elevado para una comida bastante floja. Pagamos 50€ por dos platos y, al pedir café, primero nos dijeron que iban a consultar y después el encargado afirmó que no tenían café. Apenas estuvimos 45minutos ocupando la mesa. Falta de profesionalidad y poca coherencia. No volvería.

Hair on tablecloth, mayonnaise flat, chipirones not soft. Oil and vinaigrette for the salad in a prepacked plastic dish. Why not give the bottles instead of 3x the prepacked things? Salad and bread was good.

La experiencia negativa,para no volver. Nos encajaron entre la puerta y la pared en una especie de sofás que no se podían mover,éramos 6 personas y apenas nos cabian las piernas ,rozabanos con las piernas de los demás,en la vida me sucedió cosas semejante y la comida mal también,la tortilla de patata solamente sabía a cebolla y estaba mal repartida,con lo cual había trozos llenos de ella y otros sin nada,los bastones de berenjena super grasientos,las alitas de pollo medio crudas,lo único que se salvaba eran los huevos rotos con patatas y jamón....y el precio muy caro también,para lo que comimos,vamos,no volveré .

La verdad es que el menu ha dejado mucho que desear, los espaguettis a la carbonara llevaba alguna cascarita de gambas. La lubina que no lo parecia, era mas una perla a mi parecer estaba bañada en un exceso de vinagre, el codillo aceptable. El postre bien, como compensacion nos han invitado al café. Bueno no hemos salido muy contentos, pero el camarero ha sido muy atento y agradable y ha sentido qué no estuviera la comida a nuesto gusto

No suelo poner malas reseñas, pero lo de hoy día 19 de diciembre de 2025 a las 15.15 ha sido penoso. Pedimos ración de boquerones y los habían frito(poco) sin limpiar .Al tener la tripa estaban amargos aparte de asquerosos. Al informar al camarero y devolver el plato, se limitaron a retirarlo sin decir una palabra. Ni un 'lo siento', ni una explicación, ni un gesto de cortesía. Además nos los han cobrado El producto puede fallar, pero la educación es básica. No lo recomiendo."

The waiter (bald one) was an extraordinarily unpleasant man. Forced us to order a drink for each person after serving the first dish of food so that we had to pay more. He was also frequently rude and disrespectful. Scammy place and below average food for Madrid as well. Do not come, even in desperate times.
