Excellent food, the chili relano was one of the best I have ever had. The owner's are great to talk to.

Came down from the Dallas area to visit Big Ben. This place was amazing. The food was wonderful. Different from the TexMex in Dallas. We loved it. The staff were so nice and welcoming. Definitely try this place when you're in the area.

Not a fancy place, but the food and service were excellent. The chili relleno was amazing and very unique. The large combo platter was a great deal. Highly recommended. No alcohol served.

For me, this is one of the best restaurants in Marfa. Small restaurant and very rustic furnishings, but it has flair and the food was extremely tasty. The price is actually quite reasonable for Marfa. Soft drinks around 2 dollars and a burrito plate 13 dollars. Chips beforehand were free.

The #1 combo (enchiladas and taco) was amazing. Great food and friendly service.

Stopped in here on a chilly late January afternoon for some lunch. It is quite cozy inside. I really wanted to order some enchiladas but another customer talked me into getting a cheeseburger. Both my girlfriend and I ordered double meat cheeseburgers with everything on it. Absolutely amazing. The burger was huge and they only use fresh ground beef never frozen. So much flavor. Not sure what type of french fries they use but they were the best I've ever had. We got to talk to a few locals as well as the owners. Everybody around here is so friendly. I can't wait to come back and eat here again.

My visit started with very nice chips and just about perfect salsa, that had just a little bit of bite, but shouldn't scare off even the timid. I ordered the chicken fajita burrito, it was about as perfect as you could ask for. It came with homemade guacamole and sour cream. It really hit the spot. Angel took care of me, and the service was on point from start to finish. Definitely would love to come back here.

Exactly what I was hoping for when I was ready for a Tex-Mex combo plate in Marfa. Skip the hipster joints and make your way to Angels and get the number two!

Loved it! Had two lunches this week and as I paid up on day two they were asking me about me. Day one had the Chili relleno (recommended by a colleague, and day two the enchilada plate - with the green sauce (recommended by another colleague, who warned me off the red sauce - whose heat depends on how mad whoever makes it is.) tasty, generous, friendly/homey.

I’m so glad we tried this place. Some of the best TexMex we’ve ever had and very friendly. Get the red sauce!

The BEST chile rellenos I’ve ever had! I stopped here on a road trip to big bend and I’m thankful I did! Such a gem!

Small but don't let that fool ya! I got the smothered chicken burrito, Christmas style, with red and green sauces. Great taste. Loved the seasoned rice! Prices a little higher but larger portions so no complaints. Will definitely be back.

What a great place!! We loved Donna - so friendly and immediately treated us like family. You could tell many of the patrons were regulars and there was a loyal following. We were able to walk in and get a table right away and the salsa was some of the best we had while we were there (spicy though!). Highly recommend!!

Great spot for legit food...one of the best smothered burritos that I've ever had! And amazing for the price. Big portions and great service. This is the kind of hole-in-the-wall spot you want to stop and try while traveling through west Texas!

We loved the Machaca and the hospitality of owner Daniel Silva….definitely worth the stop when passing thru Marfa!

Some of the best, freshest and most authentic Mexican food ever. It’s a tiny neat and clean shack. Friendly service. Salsa is amazing . Both red and green sauce are fabulous. The chili replenish was the best one I’ve ever eaten. Clean plate club!!!

I struggle when I visit Marfa (typically once a year) because I see the undeniable beauty of some of the higher-end businesses and then I see what taking NYC and putting it (and an awful 'Prada' installation art piece as you drive in, which is frankly, shameful) in a small Texan town. If you Google Marfa these days it won't talk about its rich heritage and people, it will focus on the artsy types who have invaded and taken over, causing locals to not be able to afford to live in Marfa, their home town, any longer. For the years I've been coming I have seen Marfa lose some of their best restaurants but fortunately ANGEL's remains. It has everything REAL and nothing pretentious. There is something disquieting about going into Marfa and seeing all the ritzy things that were brought down from CA or NY and forget that Marfa existed BEFORE those rich people brought their toys. Angels is such an original. You get what you see. It is the real unvarnished Marfa, and we loved it. The staff are locals and they're real hard working people, it's intimate and unvarnished, it stays open late and it's got DELICIOUS MEXICAN FOOD. If you want to go to Marfa to see before the invasion and meet real people then you gotta go to Angels. I had Mexican flag enchilladas which were delicious - just delicious - I hope nobody ever makes Marfa so unrecognizable as to forget its roots - because they're the real diamond in the desert.

Friendliest 700 square feet on earth 🌍 Food is authentic big quality homemade Mexican. Family run by great folks. Had dinner there 2 days in a row on my visit to Marfa and every person in the place took the time to say hello.

Best enchiladas I’ve ever had. Best salsa outside of Mexico. Great place to go in marfa to avoid the rapid and unstoppable tide of Austin overtaking the city. Really set me right after a week of bad luck in Terlingua

When looking for Mexican food after our arrival in Marfa, Marfa Burrito came up but it's closed for dinner... Angel's is close by and we decided to try it out Yes, we can get great Mexican dishes in California but Tex-Mex is a different beast altogether. Definitely the sauces have more of a punch which is highly appreciated by the two of us. Combo plate and beef / chicken botanas are very different from what we're used to. Mannn, the sauce is awesome and combining the red and green pepper ones makes for tons of flavor. As dessert we had a half order of sopapillas that were sumptuous and delicious..... 9/10 on the food. Service wise, nice staff - it's a simple setup and it worked out fine at the end. Lastly, the place is equally simple and rugged which is fitting for Marfa, Just the right food at the right time for two tired travellers.

I went six months ago in may and I still think about this food frequently. I eat Mexican food all the time, BUT THIS IS SOME OF THE BEST!!! The owner and people there are so sweet. I would definitely reccomend Angel’s!

We loved it! Very good Mexican food. Definitely recommend. Prices were good, portions are good sized. They even make their own chicken fried steak! We also had tacos and enchiladas. I loved the Christmas sauce (half red, half green). The green was a little cheesy and sooo good. Red salsa had the perfect amount of spicy. They were busy and still provided good service with very little wait. Great addition to the area. Will return!

Delicious, hearty and flavourful food with great friendly service! We had the guacamole, Asada plate and Spanish steak (I learned it is a chicken fried steak with a cheesy green chili sauce) - everything was yummy! The salsa packed a spicy kick! Prices are really reasonable for rather large plates. Place just opened 2.5 months ago and the folks really serve great food with love! We were just passing through Marfa and looking for a late lunch at 3pm. Most places were closed but Angel and her family were there to welcome us with a great little restaurant! Must try! Will be back.

We got the cheese enchiladas and the portions were a good size especially for the price. The cheese was so good, the green sauce was very yummmy. Their complimentary chips and salsa was spicy but very flavorful. Would totally visit again!

Absolutely wonderful little restaurant! Look for it next to the Dollar General. Authentic, Mexican food. The most amazing salsa served with tasty chips. Food cooked to order and served hot. Gigantic portions. We got half chile verde half asado that came with tasty rice and refried beans. Also got the beef enchiladas with half green/ half red sauce with an egg on top that also had rice and beans. The staff was very nice and attentive.

Really good Mexican food! My partner and I shared the chicken fajitas and that was more than enough for the both of us. Guacamole and salsa were delicious. A few tables inside so you may have to wait for a little bit at peak rush hours. One of my favorite restaurants we stopped at on our West TX roadtrip!

Kingwood Wine Group

We stopped in around 1:20 on a Tuesday. There are only 7 tables inside but we were able to get one! Angel was doing everything except cooking and was very pleasant. We loved the house made salsa served with chips. We ordered the bean and cheese nachos as an appetizer. They were served hot and fresh with melted cheddar cheese, which we prefer to the cheese sauce some places use. I had the #2 plate with green sauce chicken enchiladas and a chili relleno, served with rice and beans. The green sauce is made with green chilis and cream of mushroom soup. Everything was delicious. My husband had the #3 plate which was the same but added a taco. We had enough food left for one of us to eat again!

Nice local eatery that is away from the trendy locations. I had the combo with enchilada and taco. Great place of you want honest Mexican food done right with attentive service. Don't expect a fancy meal with their simple decor and bathrooms out back. But I would come back for a quick bite.

Unbelievably great food, super attentive service and fun casual atmosphere! We are going back in the morning and I’ll post more pics! Angel’s prices are super low - especially for the huge amount of food she serves. We had the asado and chili rellenos. Couldn’t even eat 1/2 of our dishes. Our new go to when we are in West Texas 😍🥰😍🥰 Do yourself a favor and treat yourselves to some fabulous Tex Mex food at a place that actually stays open during the times when people are hungry. No days off for these guys. They WANT to earn your business!

Small restaurant that serves excellent Mexican food. I ordered a combination fajita plate. The soft tortillas were outstanding. It was tasty. The combination burrito was interesting. Service was efficient. The door is on the left of street side.

This tiny little place had great food! My husband loved the salsa (I'm not a big fan of salsa in general). We ordered a combination plate with two enchiladas, one red and one green, a taco, and beans & rice. The green enchilada was my favorite! It wasn't spicy, and it was sort of creamy. The red sauce has a little heat, and it was very good, too. Great taco. You can choose beef or chicken, soft or crispy. Beans had a great flavor, too. Very small place, and it fills up fast. If I'm ever in Marfa again, I will eat here!

Food was amazing and staff was friendly. Chips and salsa were great. Also had the green chile salsa. Cheese burger baskets had crispy fries and a juicy seasoned perfect burger. Only request would be for fountain drinks rather than can sodas.

Friendly staff. Small place. Longer than normal wait for food. Food was decent, but nothing to write home about. The salsa that comes with the chips was good. A bit off putting to see their main fridge and freezer sitting next to the dining area.

Tiny unassuming restaurant with welcoming vibe- at least from everyone except the older lady with short gray hair. Lady was unhelpful and unwelcoming as you can get without insulting patrons. She seemed like she didn't want anyone to be there. Food is great. Salsa was the best I had in Marfa. Flavorful and not watered down like most other restaurants. I had a breakfast burrito and felt compelled to come back because the food was great and so was the service the first time around. Well, not so much the second time around. Unfortunately I doubt I'll be back. The lady might have been tired or frustrated, but so can everyone else that might come here for dinner. We're all trying to get a bite of home cooking with good service to FEEL like we're at home- as you're ultimately paying for it. But just from that interaction, I'd rather get a cheap burger from DQ, at least there you expect garbage food and garbage service.

It was the most uninspiring Mexican food we've ever eaten. Beef fajitas was so tough, we could not chew it. Tortillas were thick, floury and half cooked. Maybe the chef had a bad day... Drinks were not refilled, we were not checked upon. It's a small shack with limited seating. Really did not enjoy the experience.

The chili relleno tasted exactly as one would expect an 80 year old in Boca Raton, who has never made Mexican food, tried to make Mexican food. Then brought it out the next day to warm up for her grandchildren. Only she didn't warm it up in the microwave enough and the rice was actually cold.

Really wanted to like this place given the generally good reviews but unfortunately it was not a good experience. The woman working was friendly but looked like she was fighting for her life taking orders and waiting tables, chips tasted old, rice was mushy, beans tasted canned and enchilada sauce was reminiscent of sauce straight out of a red gravy packet like my grandma would get at a dollar store to cook. Salsa was good though and the woman did not charge my boyfriend for his plate because he didn’t eat it so that was nice. Unfortunately, would not recommend this place.

Had a poor experience at Angel’s tonight, even though we were excited to eat there. The service was very slow and inattentive, and the food came out very late. When it arrived, the food left a lot to be desired. I love mexican food and have eaten it my entire life in texas — so I was surprised at the quality given the high ratings. The fajita beef was totally dry and the rice was significantly over salted. The enchiladas were the best part, but even they weren’t better than Rosa’s Tortilla Factory. All in all, I wouldn’t go back — too many better options.

Avoid this hole in the wall. Never been treated so rude. Came in for lunch, was told to sit at a table. Waitress showed up and told us we couldn't have that table. They don't have a clue. We left and grabbed a burrito elsewhere. Much better service and food.
