I bought wings from Wingstop really disappointed, but I decided to try Popeyes since it looked really good. My experience on a drive-through was kinda slow, but the wait was not the issue. I wanted to give a really good review since I already had my bad experience with Wingstop. The manager was so kind & the employees were also kind as well. My family was happy of the way it taste. It wasn’t cold, but it was delicious. Totally recommend coming here again for wings.!!!

The whole crew working at 1:30 was great. Very helpful and some of the nicest employees I've met at a Popeyes. As long as they're working I would be confident sending any of my friends to eat there.

This location always seems to have piping hot chicken even late hours. FOOD got 4 stars rather than 5 because Mac and Cheese seemed was old and bland (like it was sitting all day long or few days old before I bought it). Popeyes has got their fried chicken down to a science. It is consistently really good. The chicken sandwich (my son's choice) is also another winner, as well as, the sauce and pickles that comes with it. I ordered a two piece combo that automatically comes with a fresh biscuit. I chose red beans and rice as my side, and added a jalapeno to my order. Everything really delicious, I just wish the beans had sausage, which is how it is usually served in Cajun restaurants. My only real complaint is, I wish I would have ordered a four piece combo instead of a two piece.

My order was taken incorrectly. Had to go back to get it fixed. Manager compensated well enough. Missing 1 star for that. Make sure you check your order before you leave.

Good when you have business at the Chase tower, but the chicken strips are super thin. Friendly cashier and fast service. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. Good location on 10th Street also across from an IBC branch.

There chicken sandwiches were delicious. There fries were nice and crunchy. But there sweet tea was not sweet at like I like it. That I was disappointed on. But other then that the sandwiches were good.

Fried Chicken was awesome as usual. I ordered extra gravy for the Cajun mashed potatoes but they only gave me a little tiny extra and I paid for the extra I didn't get my money's worth.

Awesome workers make u feel like home the only thing is that they should put a sign that says dine in customers are welcome, because not all popeye's are opened to the public. That's the only reason it got a four star.

Overall it's an o.k franchise spot. Good location. Not too deep in the McAllen center. Certain items had run out like sauces and chicken burgers. But it might be a different experience for the person reading this. It's Popeye's style chicken and it's yummie!

Popeye's is one of my favorite fast food joints. The chicken was delicious as usual but the beans and rice didn't taste the same. Service was fast and friendly. Restaurant was clean and well decorated.

Tried to order for pick up Was told I didn't have to just walk in. Still waiting 10 minutes. Wasn't even asked if it was a big order. Is 50 pieces too big? Other than that Popeyes chicken is awesome

I don’t know if they have trouble with the microphone on drive-through, but I had to continue to repeat myself the whole time throughout my entire order. They weren’t the friendliest, but I may have my standards really high from ordering chicken sandwiches at other franchises. I wish they would sell the corn again. It was my second favorite thing on the menu besides the spicy sandwich.

You can always count on one thing at this popeyes. They're going to mess up something on your order. Be prepared to go back inside or be disappointed when you arrive home. Other than that the food is decent. I think they have been hosting Cannabis Festivals here because the workers are always stoned out of their minds. 3 sad stars.

The tenders were served cold. We had to ask for hot ones. We had bit two of them and those were not replaced!. The staff didn't say sorry or anything like that, and they exchanged the product in a not so friendly attitude.

Always like the spicy chicken there. On my last visit, the fries were cold and the chicken sandwich was warm. Management gave me a free pie to make up for cold food.

Spicy chix, it doesnt have same taste before, 2019 or during covid-19. Need to bring back its original spicy chicken, red, a kick of spicy, tender, and absolutely delicious.

The tenders were dry and the size of nuggets. I wasn't impressed. To add to further insult, I'm given the incorrect quantity of less than paid for. When I address it I'm offered no apology but an extra nugget (tender) for the inconvenience. Might reconsider coming to this location in a few months.

The chicken was amazing, but the pasta from the macaroni tasted like it was over cooked in dirty faucet water.

I would give the staff better training. When you place an order and the person you're with says "I'll have the same thing", the order is pretty transparent. We waited 15 minutes, in a non-busy location to get 2 completely different orders. By the time our food came, we let the cashier know about the mix up & rather than correct it, he laughed and said, "No. That's what you ordered." By this point, we'd given up, ate & left.

Food is really good I always loved this fried chicken how ever the service is really poor the don't ask you if you wold like some condiments like ketchup, BBQ sauce etc, and they don't even have napkins for the customers to reach you have to be asking for them at the counter if they fixed these simple things I gargantee their business will grow. Ordered 3pc tender combo, disappointed to realize that Gravy is not a dipping sauce option anymore… offered to sell me a small bowl of it for $4. 2nd issue was the nugget i received, app support offered free side as comp but I think my Popeyes days are done. So many other great places to eat in the valley and you’ll spend the same $11 or less.

I was going to give a 5 star rating because I asked for fresh tenders and was told they could make then fresh but had to wait longer. I agreed on waiting. I oredered the 10 pc tender (3 spicy and 7 mild) family meal with 2 sides for $20.....they only made the mild ones fresh....the spicy ones where hard and dry. The mash potato and biscuits were good but the fries were super hard....had a burn taste. My little ones couldn't eat them. 😞

Honestly i was disappointed.. The spicy chicken sandwich is not spicy the sauce is spicy but not much. They should make it spicy like the chicken tenders. The bread for the sandwich wasnt good either it tasted bland. Nd i got my son a corn on the cob nd it wasnt buttery it had no flavor. I rather pay for chick-fil-a...its way worth it..

I'm only given 2 stars today because the chicken looked and tasted like it set under the heat lamp too long. Also the fries were not fresh. They were soggy. The side dishes and the chicken sandwich I got we're very good. Just an FYI when chicken is your main dish in sure it is always fresh.

We normally like going here but today was a mess. We went inside but nobody took our order. We waited about 5 minutes and were the only ones in line. They were only focused on serving the drive-through so we decided to walk out and use that instead. Got our food within 5 minutes. They forgot the straws which I reminded them of, no ketchup with the fries either. Hopefully the next time will be better.

Chicken was very overcooked, not fresh at all, very dry and flour season batter on chicken almost burned and hard. Fries were also dry and overcooked. Will never go there again. On a good note, cashier was friendly.

I ordered a 3 piece white and the 2 wings looked baby chicken wings. My chicken was not hot. You could tell it was under a warmer for awhile. Not impressed at all.

First, my older from of town drove through the drive pick up. Two the individual who took the order didn’t speak a word of English; no problem, the valley practices bi lingual; however I asked that our two combos be put in separate lunch bags , she agreed said no problem. As we drove up to the drive through we were approached by a manly woman, that wasn’t a problem; the woman behaved in a cold careless manner, of course we aren’t always in a great mood at the drive through. At this point there seemed to be a misunderstanding because the rude woman at the window, when she insisted that I pay two separate orders or ring to separate orders to my debit card. I was not under standing the reason for the separate process. The masculine appeared to express frustration and asked me to keep driving through. I clearly asked her to explain what had happened, because I do not understand . The hefty manly woman went on to explain with an attitude and said is was the girl who took the order who was at fault and closed the glass window. Not the worst part until we arrived home only to find my beans and rice was missing, which should’ve been a problem but I was really looking to eat my favorite sides. I placed a phone call to the restaurant and they me to pick up with receipt later , I made arrangements for the following day, but I did express my concern for the lack of courtesy of this person, I’m thinking she holds a managerial position at Popeyes chicken. I eventually picked up my bean and rice side, needless to say, it didn’t taste like I expected. I do appreciate they redeemed my receipt. Thank you for allowing me to express my opinion.

I had lunch the other day and ordered two chicken breasts, but they were the driest chicken I've ever had. I went once and decided to try it again, but don't waste your time; the chicken is overcooked and the prices are high, not good at all.

Made me wait over half an hour in the drive thru while dozens of cars behind me got their food first, then when i finally got my food, soggy fries, flat drink, and cold chicken. If i hadn't been halfway back home, i would've gone back in and thrown the food over the counter.

I ordered 10 piece chicken and it was dry. Without a dought it had been under a heat lamp for too long.

3/27/2022...Ordered 10pc and 6 biscuits.. The chicken was horrible, appeared to be day old warmed up chicken...biscuits were horrible as well.. hard as a rock.. Since I live a few miles away and gas being so expensive, I did not want to go back. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Horrible.’ They don’t know how to read an order. Also, missing straw for the drink, missing part of my order and missing utensils. It’s always something with this place that’s why I only order every 6 months hoping I’d get better but instead, it gets worse!

Ordered food for pick up, wrong order, missing items and when called to correct issue workers took no accountability for their mistake. This place is not worth all this trouble…

I ordered 3 PC combo. It looked I got the tiny tot meal. The piece of leg and thigh were the size of my thumb. No wonder when you order a combo everything fits in that tiny box.

I ordered 3 spicy chicken strips. The quality of the strips was Horrible. The food was cold and the strips had about 80% breading and 20% actual chicken. Never ever get chicken strips from Popeyes, unless u like deep fried breading with some chicken

I love Popeyes! But this location is terrible. Chicken tastes nasty, like chewing on a dirty mop. Hope I don't get sick. It's no wonder their drive thru was empty at lunch when all other area eats are packed.

I went today around 6 ish to get some food and the Bigger lady in charge was absolutely rude she should not be a manager she treats customers with no respect .who ever hired her should really do some evaluation on her work ethics never returning here again

Tenders look like they were made several weeks ago and they didn’t even want to acknowledge it.

This location has been my go to for chicken. I even bypass Church's chicken down the street. I went, ordered a chicken sandwich combo and ghost pepper wings. I didn't mind waiting 10 minutes for the wings but when I opened the box they looked like they had been dehydrated. Not appealing at all! I looked for my fries and they were under my sandwich thrown on the bottom of the bag like trash! I had to drive all the way back, super hungry and asked for a full refund. I will not be going there again. No apologies, just my money given back!!

Went by at drive-through. They told me to wait which I did. I waited there for a long time but eventually I seek for their attention since there was already a long line after me. The server still said to wait. Finally, when the lady asked for my order, her way of asking seemed irritated. When I got to the window, the server just took my card and gave my orders without saying anything and gave me the orders with attitude. The worse thing was seeing no costumers inside the restaurant! I don't know what is the reason why they kept the drive thru costumers waiting and given attitude!

Ordered a two piece chicken combo.. the cashier hands me the order not in a bag with the spoon and one napkin wrapped with what appeared to be masking tape through the holes from the box.. I get home of course the napkin tears apart..No straw was provided for the drink..the biscuit was hard as a rock and no condiments were provided either after I asked her for ketchup. Guess they want their profits to be high.. last time I buy from them...No quality service.

So normally I’ve never had trouble with getting my chicken dropped so that it’s super well done. However the manager because I’m sure that’s who he was because his shirt was different literally told me no after I spent 40 dollars at this establishment because I wanted just one of my spicy chicken sandwiches dropped longer. Gave me all these reasons about how the food is fresh and that he was worried about the quality of the food. How they just opened and all these other excuse. When I mentioned that that wasn’t the issue and that I liked my food over cooked because of texture he basically didn’t care about what I wanted and was spending my money on. I was very disappointed with this experience as this has never been a problem anywhere else I eat. I won’t be back that’s forsure id rather spend money on what I’m actually going to eat and like not on what the opinion of someone who isn’t my mouth or stomach feels about the way I choose to eat my chicken. Smh never again!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Not sure if the employee at the drive thru was having a rough day but he seemed annoyed that he had to take our order, giving sighs and ughs while ordering. Fine whatever, used to it at other places. At the window he made it very clear he didn't want to be there. However, there was a spider in my daughter's drink! He changed it but did not apologize and looked annoyed that he had to do that! I don't ever expect the best customer service but this was unacceptable.

Please do yourself a favor and dont order here. The food was nasty the chicken was uncooked. The biscuits tasted nasty too. No wonder they only have like two locations left in Mcallen. Also, if you have coupons...take them to Churches they will honor them.

The service was so bad, we got off to order and there were 3 people in front waiting in line for their orders. It took them 20 minutes to get our order but it was because my husband told them he wanted his money back. Mind you the other people that were in front were still waiting when we left. Workers were so slow and one was even listening to music and dancing away instead of getting orders ready. Way to go managers.

Worst mac and cheese I've ever had taste like plastic ! I rather have the dollar mac and cheese box from the store. I ordered the two can dine box the fries and tenders were just fine. Biscuits a bit salty but honestly all in all the fries are the only thing worth the drive oh and customer service was good.I really was craving popeyes and they let me down with this horrible mac and cheese I couldn't even eat a spoonful hence the picture.

The food is good, but the service is horrible. Lady at the window is rude. Rolled her eyes and made a face because I had asked for ranch, and buffalo sauce, and she had only given me the ranch. If you don't likee your job, don't work there. Very unwelcoming atmosphere.

Worst service ever!! i used to like going to this location because there was nobody ever there and now it makes sense why nobody eats at this location. I drove up to the speaker and the person on the speaker asked what i wanted. i told them i just wanted a classic chicken sandwich plain with nothing on it. i didn't want the combo. When I drove up to the window i reminded the young guy to make sure it was plain 3 times because they have made that mistake in the past. i got the sandwich and i took a bite of it and it had dressing and pickles. i drove back around to the window and told, i think a manager name Nora that it was not plain. She said she needed the bitten sandwich back so she can log in as waste. i have been in customer service for 25 years and 10 of them were in restaurant and i have never heard of this. i told her it was against health code to take any food back once its been touched, she yelled at me to give it back or she wasn't going to give me a another plain chicken sandwich. For anyone that works in restaurant you will understand when i say this is a cost manager rather than a sales manager. i was there at 4:41pm on Monday Jan 30. Receipt #11533 for $5.40, So for $5 you just lost a loyal customer and more because i am going to let everyone i know not to go to this location. I would like to bet that nobody will do anything about it or follow thru with this complaint, which will tell me this is not a manager culture but a regional issue.

DISGUSTING FOOD, I went to this location for the first time. They have NO IDEA how to season the chicken. The chicken is BLAND no taste whatsoever. I ordered the 10 piece meal which included 2 sides. I ordered French fries. The fries were not fresh so I requested please give me fresh fries. I believe the manager a lady took my request. My fries came out not even 1 minute after and they were double dipped in grease. They just took the fries I returned and put them in the grease for a couple of seconds. The fries looked extremely brown and they were full of grease. They were like grease filled pockets. I returned the fries 2nd time and the manager told me that she made them fresh. I told her they were not fresh but double dipped. She gave me an attitude and she spoke to me in an angry tone . She took then back and threw them in the trash. Once the fries were done about 3 minutes later. You could tell the fries were fresh golden brown and airy and crispy She now told me her workers gave them the fries and she thought they were fresh. Biscuits were hard and dry and our blueberry cream cheese pies tasted old and they were hard to the bite. Stay away from this place waste of your money and time.

Order a 16 piece tinder meal and got charged for a 16 piece chicken meal. Food was cold and not fresh at all. No red beans and rice! Management was rude about the whole situation and refused to fix order. 😒 sad to see a good restaurant going BAD!!!

I drove from Palmview to this location since it was the closest. I ordered the 12pc family meal and was missing my biscuits. Aside from that the pieces of chicken I received were horribly small for the price I paid. I spoke to the manager and she said she could give me credit for the missing biscuits but that she had no control over the chicken they serve because that is what they received. Overall bad experience will not be going back.

DO NOT MOBILE ORDER FROM THIS LOCATION! This is the second time in two years that I order from this location and I always end up with missing items. I ordered a 16 piece family meal that is suppose to come with 3 sides and a box of biscuits plus two boxes of shrimp à la carte and a side of slaw. I got only two of my sides, NO BISCUITS, no slaw and only one box of shrimp. I asked the girl at the window TWICE if everything I ordered was in the bag and she said yes because it was sealed. I still had a feeling it was light but trusted her. I only went to this location because I needed to get to the expressway to drive to Mission to take the food to my in-laws to feed them. I get there and no surprise there are items missing. When I called them, they were completely incompetent and did not even offer a refund. They just said I could drive all the way back to pick up what was missing.

I’ve given this place way too many opportunities and every time I go something is wrong with customer service! This time no napkins and I had to ask for pepper and ketchup on the side. (Mind you, it’s drive thru- you would think they’d provide at LEAST the napkins) Ohh, and mustard is sold at 30¢ I wouldn’t mind paying for it but it’s the honey mustard 🤢 so yeah, NO! Went yesterday night for takeout and ordered a 10-piece spicy meal with mash and biscuits. They only gave me nine pieces of chicken, which was old, cold, and dried out. The mashed potatoes were also cold. By the time I got home and realized the mistakes, I was too over it to drive back for more cold food. I just had to throw it all away. I was very disappointed, and while I usually like Popeyes, I'm sorry to say I was not happy with my order.

Worst Popeyes ive ever been to General manager by the name of Daniel spoke to me with no respect. Told me he was very busy and basically told me to to hurry up with what I had to say because he had no time for me. Went thru drive thru the night prior and ordered a family meal 50+ dollars to get chicken that I wouldn't even feed my dogs. Chicken looked like it had been sitting there for hours. Was asked to wait for fresh fries and the fries where cold and soggy. When I called back to complain it took them 45mins to answer the phone then was told I took to long to return the food and was not refunded the total amount. Will not ever return to this location. Photo below is what I received for 50 dollars. Would you eat this? Reached out to corporate office received one email and nothing after that.

Went to this location about a week ago and our visit was ridiculous. We tried to place an order for the chicken tenders and we were told that they only had spicy available, there was no Mack-n-cheese and no mashed potatoes. This was ridiculous because it was around 4pm and they are completely out of the most popular sides. Someone either didn’t order enough supplies or they didn’t want to make it. We would have waited for them to make a fresh batch but they just straight out said we don’t have any. Needless to say we took our business to the location on Nolana where we didn’t have any trouble at all getting what we wanted.

Horrible location. Don’t understand basic common language and give you incorrect order. Upcharged for a large drink and never asked for it. Pieces of chicken were all small and old. Never received my side and was not told they don’t have any sweetener for an unsweetened tea. Called and asked to speak to a manager and the young lady was “like what do you want me to do”? Well, I don’t know I don’t work there you do and is that any way to speak to an upset guest? What happened to common sense and apologize for the incorrect order. It’s not that hard or difficult to make things right. There was no one in drive thru lane and there were maybe two tables seated inside. Unacceptable and inexcusable for the amount I paid for an incomplete order. Stay away from this location. Spend your money elsewhere.

to start off i rarely leave reviews, but this restaurant absolutely needed it. my boyfriend and i ordered online and went to go pick it up. once we got the bag we checked it and saw that they had only given us one sandwich instead of two. we drive right back and let them know and waited a few minutes for the sandwich to be made. after going home and ate we started to feel really weird after a little while. i want to say about half an hour later we both felt sick to our stomachs and had nausea all night. i’ve never had an issue like this with this restaurant, but this time was the absolute worst.

My wife and I had been craving Popeyes for the longest time and finally got around to making the trip across town to get some good chicken and I had been wanting to try the New wings they had. Boy was this the biggest mistake ever made since pulling up to the drive thru we were treated with the up most rudeness from the manger who was taking the order in drive thru my wife proceeded to get the #5 3 piece tenders with fries I ordered the 12pc ghost wings honey BBQ and garlic Parmesan with a side of fries now this whole time the manger was being rude kept telling me if that was it while I was still placing my order I had to repeat both order more than 3 times so we get to the drive thru window and the boy at the window takes forever to come and attend me then finally he opens the window after 13 minutes of waiting and proceeded to tell me my order well it was all wrong all down to the quantity and flavor of wings and the sides so I had to repeat my order for the 4th time then he proceeded to close the window I’m like omg here we go so I waited for another 5 minutes for him to come back and re ask me what my order was so this is now the 5th time repeating my order finally after 251/2 minutes we get our order and with our watered down drinks we get home and proceed to sit down and eat looking foward to a decent meal but to no avail the Parmesan wings are drenched in what seemed to be 40 gallons of sauce took a bite and had to fight the wing to just get the meat off of the bone the were crispy and old so I said has to be a fluke so I go to try the honey bbq ones well I open the honey bbq wings and wow there was hardly and sauce on these it was so scarce like water in the Sahara desert so I took a bite of this one and omg it tasted old and had a funky smell to it so all this time my wife is watching me with a smile on her face and she says well at least you could bite into yours cause she couldn’t even bite into her tenders so much for calling them chicken tenders should’ve called them crackling tenders they were so old stale and hard I could’ve used them as nails to build her the shed she’s been wanting the only decent thing were the fries not even the watered down coke.. like really Popeyes how can u let people like this run ur restaurant it’s a shame to serve a hard working person such mess and disgust like come on

Ordered all white chicken but they didn't have any so I got thigh & leg for a 3 piece. Took order back told 20 minute wait for 2 breasts & wing, ok. 2nd round 2 breasts & a leg! Took back for a wing 3rd round. Tasteless fried chicken! What?! Popeyes is over, worse fried chicken ever. 2nd order breast was half the size & Dry, old piece, just toss in trash. Probably using old oil from taste & after oily residue in mouth, YUK! Check your chicken when you order. Drive thru kept coming in restaurant about missing items too.

I love Popeyes but today I ordered their 3 piece chicken tenders. I was so disappointed on the quality. The tenders were so small and not worth the price of $11. I won’t be coming to Popeyes for a while after this experience. I’ll take my money elsewhere.
