Really enjoyed Valentines dinner here last evening. Make sure to make reservations. We got lucky with street parking but also make sure to be there early to park properly. We had the beets, rib eye, and pastry rolls. The bread is amazing and the ambiance will transport you to the Mediterranean. I can’t wait to come back
We came to listen to jazz here on Saturday night : FRANK MARTIN with MICHAEL O'NEILL QUARTET. We’ve never been to the restaurant before , nor did we know about the jazz until the day off. Both music and the food were out of this world. We got the chefs tasting menu which I highly recommend, I think every appetizer and dish that the chef picked was outstanding. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Musicians were amazing! All four of them : the technique, the music selection and the fun! To add to that, the restaurant decor, attention from our servers and the beautiful energy all around. We’ll be back for sure!
We tried the chef's menu for dinner, which includes fried cold/hot appetizers, main courses, and desserts. There are options for vege, meat, and seafood. The grilled octopus is my favorite and very flavorful. The fish tastes a bit plain at the beginning, but after we packed and reheated at home, it got better. Lamb is find and pretty standard taste. Appetizers are good to try. Overall nice dining experience!
The food on multiple occasions has been excellent. Consistency, technique, and quality are high. I recommend the $100 tasting menu because it allows you to sample the food and mix and match between the three choices - veg, meat, seafood. The chairs are absolutely the worst though, and they are not matched to the table heights.
Went with family for dinner. Orhan our server was great and made excellent recommendations. We wish we could try everything so we’ll definitely be back. If you have never had this food be excited because it tastes amazing and is healthy. We got the mixed grill for $224- expensive but worth it. You definitely get enough for 4 or 6 if it’s kids. The chicken was not as great as I wish but it was delicious, I really liked the red meat. Didn’t try the fish but will next time.
Absolutely amazing meal with both strong and subtle flavors. Incredible Turkish bread right out of the oven. The simple garlic yogurt is worth the trip all by itself! Superb grilled eggplant and peppers, and kebabs too. The tomatoes taste homegrown. Real chocolate covers the profiteroles. The wait staff don’t hurry you, so you can relax and flag them when you’re ready.
Meyhouse in Palo Alto (California) is definitely worth the hype and the hefty check you'll get at the end if you don't watch what you're eating. The servers are really good...they cater to your every need and they are constantly there is guide you to order, explain each entree and suggest menu items to suit your taste buds. Pretty cool interiors too. All in all, a luxury premium experience that will satisfy all your Turkish / Mediterranean cravings. We were there for an occasion so we decided to splurge a little. We ordered the "LITTLE LITTLE IN THE MIDDLE" for all 3 of us. It's basically a Chef's tasting menu but a pretty unique one at that. It included some items that were not even available on their menus. Trust me, it was really filling and we were a few pounds heavier walking back to the car! Worth it at $95 per person? That's for you to decide.
As someone with Balkan roots, dining at Meyhouse & Meyhouse Jazz Club felt truly special. The food and atmosphere beautifully reflect the soul of Turkish cuisine, blended perfectly with California’s modern and upscale vibe.lSpecial thanks to Taha and Eren for their excellent service and genuine hospitality. Highly recommended authentic, elegant, and memorable.
We had an unforgettable Turkish dining experience at **Meyhouse**! We kicked off lunch with the *Kopoglu*—oven-roasted eggplants and tomatoes on yogurt—bursting with flavor. Next, we sampled the *Girit* (Turkish sheep’s milk cheese with pistachios) and the *Ahtapot* (roasted octopus on fava butter), both of which were as unique as they were delicious. And let's not forget the freshly baked bread, served with a complementary dip, which was so soft and addictive, we couldn’t stop tearing off pieces! For the main course, we savored the *Cemenli Tavuk*—chicken breast marinated in yogurt and fenugreek, paired with fluffy rice. We also had the *Levreck*, a perfectly cooked Branzino served with a generous side of greens. The combination of flavors was both novel and comforting, leaving us craving more. When it came to dessert, we were absolutely spoiled. My son devoured the *Profiterole*—cream-filled pastry puffs drizzled with chocolate and topped with pistachios. My daughter went for the *Sutlac*, a Turkish rice pudding with a perfectly browned top. My husband and I shared the *Kunefe*, which was simply divine, especially when paired with vanilla ice cream and pistachio crumbles. Every dessert was a standout, each one more irresistible than the last. The service was impeccable—prompt, friendly, and our host made us feel right at home. **Meyhouse** is a must-try for anyone craving a memorable Turkish meal with heart and soul!
Delicious premium Turkish food for a premium price. The service was outstanding, and I have no complaints. The only thing I would nitpick on is that we got seated on one of the side tables, and I felt like the middle is a better vibe. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the fresh Turkish bread was so good. Normally I don’t eat tableside bread since it fills me up and it’s usually not the best quality, but this bread was freshly baked and oh so delicious. We got chicken, lamb, steak, variety of appetizers and a couple desserts as well. I think the Turkish desserts at Oklava is better priced and tastes better, but other than that, I would order everything else in a heartbeat. The service was outstanding too, my party and I had a later reservation and we were so busy enjoying the food and each others company that we didn’t realize how late it had gotten. But we didn’t feel rushed to leave and the staff was so courteous. Although expensive, I think your money is better spent here than some other competing restaurants in Palo Alto.
We had a great date night here. The service is 10/10 and the food was delicious. We got the roasted red pepper spread, artichoke with shrimp, grilled octopus and the dumplings with beef. We got the baklava for dessert. Everything was amazing. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. I grabbed a 5:30pm res for 2 on a Friday a few days out - all the other slots were booked.
Meyhouse is an upscale Mediterranean restaurant with a beautiful ambiance that’s perfect for a special dinner or celebration. The service was warm and attentive, and the food was both fresh and deeply flavorful. We tried the chopped salad which was good, but skippable. The eggplant with yogurt from the mezze selection is an absolute must; the flavors truly blow you away. The muhammara dip was also excellent. They serve complimentary bread that’s dangerously delicious and very easy to overindulge. For the main course, the branzino was soft, juicy, and perfectly cooked. I would highly recommend. We didn’t have room for dessert, but the künefe here is excellent and definitely worth saving space for. A wonderful spot for a refined Mediterranean dining experience.
Excellent meal, quality food and good service. We started with strained yogurt and spicy peppers with their excellent bread. Then we shared the octopus with favas and this too was wonderful. For mains my partner had the Levrak (Branzino) and I had grilled pink grouper skewers. My salad, grilled peppers, tomatoes and onions were a delicious and healthy side. The grilled seafood, too was very good and healthy. Service was very good and the atmosphere is upbeat and upscale. A very good dining experience.
Meyhouse in Palo Alto offers a generally pleasant dining experience, though a few aspects could be improved. The online reservation system made booking a weekend dinner easy, a good thing since the restaurant was bustling upon our arrival – definitely reserve ahead of time! The interior is modern and upscale, with high ceilings, an open kitchen, and a spacious dining area. We were promptly seated, and our server was informative and helpful, guiding us through the menu, wine list, and specials. One area for improvement was a suggestion made by our waiter. He offered some options for splitting dishes with my friend, which we appreciated. However, he failed to mention that these suggestions would incur extra charges. We hadn't solicited these suggestions and assumed he was simply being helpful. Discovering these extra charges on the bill felt a bit deceptive and detracted from the experience. Beyond this, the service was attentive, with our table cleared after each course. We shared two hot appetizers (Türkmen Manti & üç Börek), two entrees (Pirzola and Lokum), and one dessert (Knafeh). Our dinner started with complimentary warm bread and an amazing dressing. The appetizers were generally good, with mild but well-executed flavors. The dishes showcased fresh ingredients. Turkmen Manti was the clear winner from our 2 appetizer picks. The garlic yogurt and paprika oil really elevated the flavors. Our entrees, Lokum (tenderloin slices) and Pirzola (bone-in lamb chops), were cooked to a perfect medium, juicy and tender. The lemon mashed potatoes were smooth and rich. The Knafeh dessert was a highlight – crispy, not overly sweet, warm, gooey, and light, a perfect ending to the meal. Overall, it was a good dining experience, deserving a solid four stars. However, be aware that Meyhouse is on the pricier side, and while the food is good, the price point may not be fully justified for everyone. Also, be sure to clarify any potential extra charges associated with server suggestions to avoid surprises on your bill.
Beautiful atmosphere, unique and delicious flavors, and good wine. Our party of 4 ordered a ton of appetizers, a few entrees and desserts for ~$115 per person. My favorites were Atom, a simple but full flavored yogurt dish and the vegetarian dumplings. Second time I went with a party of 4 and we ordered a normal amount of food for $60 per person. Atom was still one of our favorites. Only caveat to this restaurant is that the service is not at the same tier as the food. Short staffing always seems to be an issue. When we went for lunch on Monday, we weren't assigned a server so the hostess took our order and we spent the rest of the meal asking to order drinks, asking to order entrees, asking where those drinks were, asking where the bread we asked for went. It was pretty painful. During our second visit during dinner, the restaurant was full so our server was helpful but busy so we spent a lot of time flagging them down to order more food, for extra bread, plates to be changed when the entree came, etc.
One of the better Turkish restaurants in the Bay Area - the food is good and ambiance/service great. I was here on a Sunday for dinner and the place was pretty crowded. We had the octopus and artichoke for appetizers - both were fantastic. Main was branzino and grouper - well prepared and fresh. Not a huge fan of the side salad. Pricey.
Huge, well decorated restaurant with friendly service. I would like to see a Turkish meze platter choice of different apps to try all; was missing on the menu. Their shobiyet dessert is great. but they should add more baklava choices since they are in house, like just walnut baklava. Also, the onion/lemon plate that comes with each lahmacun must triple in size to be adequate for one lahmacun; was skimpy. Otherwise great taste. Pides also tasted great.
