I've eaten at each Akashi dozens of times and I think I can officially declare it as my favorite sushi restaurant. The Alex #2 is a must - I get it 100% of the time I dine there. The Coconut Grove location is a little larger than the South Miami location, mostly because dining extends to the outdoor courtyard (not that there's much seating there either.) Service is always good - nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about either. I will say, out of the dozens of times I've eaten at Akashi, there was only 1 time that I got a sub par roll and it was at the Coconut Grove location. Maybe it was a bad day, maybe delivery took to long, I don't know but it definitely did not hinder my love for this restaurant!

By far one of the best Japanese restaurants I have dinned at in a while! Definitely authentic food and sushi. The salmon teriyaki dinner plate is a must try, along with the Alex #2 sushi. I love how the delivery is no Hassle. No need to sit and give them the card number, the driver comes with the machine!

Best sushi in miami. Ask about the goudi roll. Its not on the menu but wow it should be!

Un restaurante japonés pequeño y muy agradable con mesas al aire libre ubicado en Coconut Grove en un pequeño centro comercial. Cuenta con una gran variedad de sushi. Los platos de muy buen sabor a precio razonable. Ideal para acompañarlo con una cerveza de origen japonés. Excelente opción para almorzar. En la zona el estacionamiento es en la calle y a la hora del almuerzo o en la noche hay que tener paciencia para encontrar lugar para estacionar.

Encontré este restaurante por casualidad un fin de semana, cuando todo estaba a reventar. ¡Pero me alegro muchísimo de haberlo hecho! El servicio es muy rápido y directo; no entiendo por qué hay comentarios negativos sobre empleados que son "matones". Encontré a todos con los que interactué muy amables y serviciales. Tienen una hermosa terraza al aire libre, muy pintoresca y limpia. Este lugar también tiene precios muy razonables para la zona, y el sushi es más abundante de lo que parece al principio. Recomiendo ampliamente este lugar y definitivamente pienso volver.

He comido en Akashi decenas de veces y creo que puedo declararlo oficialmente mi restaurante de sushi favorito. El Alex #2 es imprescindible; lo pido siempre que voy. El local de Coconut Grove es un poco más grande que el de South Miami, principalmente porque se puede comer en el patio exterior (aunque tampoco hay muchos asientos allí). El servicio siempre es bueno; nada del otro mundo, pero tampoco nada de qué quejarse. De todas las veces que he comido en Akashi, solo una vez me sirvieron un rollo mediocre, y fue en el de Coconut Grove. Quizás fue un mal día, quizás la entrega tardó demasiado, no lo sé, ¡pero sin duda no afectó mi amor por este restaurante!

¡De lejos, uno de los mejores restaurantes japoneses en los que he cenado en mucho tiempo! Definitivamente comida y sushi auténticos. Debes probar el plato de salmón teriyaki, junto con el sushi Alex #2. Me encanta que la entrega no sea complicada. No es necesario sentarse y darles el número de tarjeta, ¡el conductor viene con la máquina!

Both the sushi and prices are great. The location is near other places and shops of interest as well. The only drawback is the parking; it’s not single lot specific and is metered in most, if not all cases (I had to use metered parking). Make sure to keep the parking meter fed, or it’s a roughly 40 dollar ticket.

The sushi is top notch here. They focus on the rice which is the foundation of food sushi. Place is small and fills up quick so you have to get there before the rush.

This Japanese Restaurant in Miami is located both in Coconut Grove and South Miami. The food is good and the serving portions are fair-sized, though the ambience and decor are nothing special. We visited the Coconut Grove location, which has an open-air area with a view of the main street teeming with tourists and locals. This is a nice place to see Harley Davidson motorcycles, one or a few Ferraris and the dogs strolling alongside their owners.

It's about the same as Chinese sushi, though with worst presentation. Pieces of sashimi seemed to be cut with a full knife, and not consistent. When I arrived at 6:00 rap music playing should have been an indication. It may be good for Florida, but it's not Japanese.

Fresh sushi, very tasty rolls, but lacks presentation, is on the expensive side and service is hit or miss. It is a nice place to eat outside if you are in no rush.

Maybe in it’s day this place was good but now nearing the beginning of 2018 it really doesn’t live up to it’s reviews. The rolls were extremely Americanized (ie. no raw fish, cream cheese, imitation krab etc.). The atmosphere was awful it felt like I was walking into a bar that so happens to sell sushi (there were 2 neon lights for bud light and some other brand). There was more filler used than fish and they cut the sushi extremely thin so they could advertise that the sushi was 10-14 pieces when they SHOULD be 6-8. When I asked for eel sauce they gave me “eel sauce” which tasted like pure maple syrup. The only reason I’m not giving this place 1 star is because the dumpling were delicious and in the very few pieces of fish I had they were of solid quality. Very disappointing.

Not the best sushi restaurant to eat at save your money and eat at a better place. Also, if someone in your party is not going to order they will charge you an extra $3.50. Rather go to Fresh Market and get better sushi there. The service is also trash!
