I ordered the churrasco steak but it was lacking the black beans, rice and sweet plantains so I ordered a second meal to get those. The potatoes really need more flavor, very dry but everything else was delicious. Our server was awesome and the food was well worth the visit.
Sammy is AMAZING and the food was perfection. The steak was tender and full of flavor. The eggs were cooked perfect, and Cuban toast was buttery goodness. The coffee was full of flavor and creamy. Will be visiting again when I'm back in town.
We told our waiter that we needed assistance on selecting our Cuban dishes and he was extremely helpful. Our food is was delishious. I would definitely go back again.
Very cozy old school set up with super views inside and out. Staff very friendly. Great food that won't break the budget.
The thickest Cuban I've ever had! It was jam-packed with juicy meat, and the cheese oozed out with every bite. My fiancé got the ropa vieja and it didn't disappoint either.
Loved it - the coffee is amazing and my black bean, rice, plantain and fried egg breakfast was delicious but most of all I loved the Cuban toast - order no 9 you won’t be disappointed - Sammy’s a great host
Amazing! Our server was so fun and talkative, made us feel at home. Food is very affordable too. I didn’t get his name, but if you get the guy who looks like Johnny Depp you’re gonna have a good time, maybe he’s David? Brought home a pastelito to eat on the beach later.
The Cuban Breakfast plate and Cuban coffee was amazing. Staff was working hard, few small mistakes, forgot toast and juice, but I can't even begin to hold that against them because the quality of the food was delicious.
Cuban cafecito was so, so good that I ordered a second one. I ended up here after seeing its name repeatedly in best places for cafecito in Miami lists. Strong espresso with lots of sugar, glad I chose David's Cafe Cafecito to try the Cuban coffee everyone talks about. We moved from a table to the bar in order to see the coffee queen in action. Sammy was won-der-ful.
Amazing food and service. Tried the catch of the day and it was very fresh. Very friendly service too.
Seen this on a vlog. Cool spot. Definitely a local joint. Customer service was great. That damn Cuban coffee.....yeah....a must have. Nice a strong, espresso like
A truthful flare for the Cuban cuisine. If you are looking for a great Cuban coffee or a nice place to relax and have a a great meal I highly recommend.
This restaurant is a beach staple by now. So happy to know they are still around making great food. They are now located on Alton Rd. Totally worth it. They offer get breakfast specials as well. Enjoy!!
Great shakes, service and prices. The food is lovely, the Cuban sandwiches to die for. Very authentic Cuban food set in a diner in South Beach.
This is the best place for Cuban food in Miami. Every time I come to visit , its a must i eat here. Its so good to always see the same faces working there each time I visit.
Authentic all day Cuban cuisine on Miami Beach. Great Cuban coffee and food with prices you won't find anywhere else on the beach coupled with a family-like, friendly atmosphere = a slam dunk. Menus are in English and Spanish and if you're still unsure, just ask and the staff will make suggestions. Adrian, Laura and the whole Gonzalez family have been at it on the beach for decades which is why the locals all flock there. Plenty of seating and easy, free parking in the strip center parking lot right off of Alton Road at 9th. And if you haven't met Sammy, David's Cafe Cafecito's very own "Agador Sparticus," you're in for a treat. Sammy is life imitating art for Hank Azaria's character from the 1996 hit movie "The Birdcage." A can't miss stop for anyone visiting Miami Beach and looking for an authentic Cuban dining experience.
Amazing food, flavor and customer service, Thanks! _Am a regular customer :) I gotta have breakfast everyday, sometimes I rush out to work and don't have time to cook So I'm glad Davids Café delivers :) Try "Davids breakfast burrito" mmm so good, I get it scrambled with American cheese oppose to white cheese, it comes with salsa and sour cream, and those delicious lil red potatoes :)) The café con leche is good and the juices are too Yes, the OJ taste like its freshly squeezed woot woot! Authentic Cuban food that does delivery!!! That's a super plus!! Cuz I get tired of the same ol same same ol food choices for delivery Sometimes a girl needs some arroz con frijoles acompanado con un Bistec Ooooo LOL Enjoy.
The food was absolutely amazing! I loved everything about it from the cuban coffee to my steak and egg breakfast. The home fries were also one of a kind! The food is affordable and great quality as well as great customer service.
They've moved from Lincoln Road to Collins Avenue and now they're on Alton. They'll move to wherever it takes to offer you low-priced, high quality, and amazingly delicious Cuban food. Very popular spot for breakfast, lunch and late night dinners >12am.
A Miami Icon, a place i grew up around as well as my father. It was sad to see the Lincoln Rd location close down but, after finding out they moved here i was honestly relieved. Absolutely great prices for Iconic and cultural Cuban food. The coffee is where it is at. Looking for a delicious Colada? Look no further. Really love the restaurant and the people in it. David’s Cafe will always be my goto brunch spot hopefully for the rest of my life and the children i have get to see this place too.
This was our first stop when we got to Miami and it was excellent! What a way to start our weekend. The food and the atmosphere were perfect! I enjoyed every single thing I had. The fresh squeezed orange juice, the café con leche, and the Cuban bread. I had the Desayuno Cubano it was delicious. Eggs with rice and sweet plantains! My wife had eggs and home fries. I can't wait to come again. This will have to be my first stop each time I come to town!
Went for breakfast while on vacation in Miami Beach. Food was great and inexpensive, paid a little bit extra for the speciality coffee and Cuban bread which was definitely worth it. Staff was very friendly,; service and atmosphere were great!
Delicious food, my first Cuban Cuisine experience. Come here, you won't regret it. Manuel was a great server and Leity was so awesome as well. I got the Ochocinco special, but I want to try the popular steak dish next time I come to Miami!! 😋 Can't wait to go back (Follow me on Instagram @ErikHuOfficial & comment/message me :) )
Awesome little breakfast spot. Classic Cuban breakfast for a great price in a great location! Cafe con leche is delicous and reccomend their Perico breakfast dish, which has onions and peppers cut up with eggs. Their tostada, cuban toast, is delicous as well. Reccomend 100%
David's Cafe Cafecito is an institution on Miami - South Beach. Adrian re-opened the family business on Alton Road, the coffee and menu retaining the history with a business modernization. Important for us locals - Adrian was among the last to close during Hurricane Irma, and the first to get the doors open - even with plywood sheets covering the windows. An oasis for those of us who had to or chose to "ride out" the storm, we got hot meals and air conditioning while our homes and condos had no electricity. Phone charging everywhere inside even if cables had to dangle down to the tables from the ceiling. The cuban menu and kitchen is simple but correct, the fresh pressed juices perfect, unbeatable coffees, and how can you go wrong with breakfast menu available all day?
Best authentic Cuban place ever. Home away from home cooking. Definitely highly recommend this place to all. We endured the best service with Samy. Great hospitality . Diana&Santos
Was recommended by our bartender ( 4got 2 get his name ) at Wet Willie's, was so glad we asked! Food was awesome, Sammy was cool af! Have the steak n eggs!
Wait staff were all very friendly and quick. Made the experience memorable for our whole group!! Great prices and huge portion sizes. Authentic Cuban cuisine!!! A must go to for Cuban breakfast in Miami!!!
Want to have a lunch away from the tourist crowd? Very inexpensive lunch specials every day of the week. Was very tasty cuban cuisine. Simple, but really good. Service was super friendly. Life is a bit slower here. And interestingly, they have an ATM inside the restaurant.
Service was great! Great table servicing and very polite. Our server taught us how to order in Spanish and the food was delicious. The cafe con Leche was the best I've ever had. Will recommend to anyone visiting Miami.
The cuban coffee was excellent here. Also there guava and cheese and the guava pastries were top notch as well. No seating available, or if there is, it was very small. Service was fast, people were polite. We stopped here on an early Saturday morning on the way to the airport. We were from out of town, so we thought we would try it. It was definitely worth the stop.
This place is great! The food is delicious and the coffee is phenomenal. Also the staff is very friendly and attentive. Specially Sammy, he is great! This quickly became our regular weekend breakfast spot. Love it.
If you’re in Miami you have to have a traditional Cuban breakfast. This place is great. Steak and eggs was amazing and Cafe Con Leche was the best. Staff is super friendly and fun. Grab and iced coffee to go!
Highly recommended the outside that looks like a normal Diner but on the inside it's an classic Cuban Diner. I had a lot so far is Prescott up on the Friday specials and it was delicious the brand is also very tasty the staff is very friendly and funny and everyone works very hard. come check it out!
The food was really great specifically the cuban sandwich. Service was great as well not only from our server but also from another server who was a male that was wearing large beads around his neck. The wait time was almost non existent. Overall very satisfied & I am looking forward to stopping here in the future when I visit Miami again. Edit: I also forgot to mention how cool the aesthetic was. It has pictures of Cuba everywhere with old cuban currency on the tables. Very cool.
Great place, Awesome staff and so friendly. The fish soup was Amazing, Extremely reasonable prices for authentic food. Definitely recommend this place! P.s. I couldnt believe someone rated it 1 Star so I looked at Sarah Johnson's ignorant 1 Star review a few clicks down. After looking at her profile, 8 reviews 7/8 are 1 star and 6 of them refer to someone cutting her in line. It's apparent you are on your phone while in line and purposely letting people go ahead of you so you can complain. Lol. You shouldn't be allowed to review any place.
Great food and lovely servers! I loved the coffee as well. The service could be more prompt, but it's the same all over Miami so visitors should expect to chill there for a while.
Best spot in South Beach for Cuban food. Cafecito, breakfast, cuban or medianoche sandwiches and more are all superb. Great owners and a family business that makes you feel welcome. We send our clients that visit there to try something local and authentic. Check it out!
Muy rico café! Es un lugar agradable, pintoresco, y muy bien atendido, vayan si quieren pasar un buen momento probando múltiples variedades de café.
Good little spot, friendly staff, quick service, good amount of items, great prices and good portions. Very tasty Latin cuisine. Not too far from ocean ave and near other places to try.
We came here for breakfast!! Good prices and great portion sizes. Waiter was really kind.
7.12.19 - the first time I came to miami beach I ate at davids care ii and had their Cuban sandwich. Found out that they moved and was visitjng fort Lauderdale so I had to eat here again. Was not disappointed with the Cuban sandwich. Just the right amount meat to bread ratio. The sandwich was just like I how remember it from 2006. So glad I came back.
Had the Cuban breakfast which comes with cafe con leche which was delicious! The Cuban breakfast came with white rice and eggs, maduros and toasted pan. Next time I’ll make sure to ask for it to be buttered.
This is an old school Cuban restaurant. That means the food will be delicious, and the service abysmal. Don’t visit or order if you are in a rush, and don’t expect everything to be exactly as you ordered it each time. That being said, the prices are very fair and the portions generous. When you order online, call right away to make sure they got your order. Again after a half an hour to make sure they give it to the drive. Again after 45 minutes to make sure it’s “on it’s way”. Again 1 hour after it should have arrived to make sure it’s “very close”. Coño, se que andamos en tiempo Cubano pero aquí se pasa.
Excellent soy cortaditos! Very well made and not scaldingly hot like at some other places. Not the cheapest ($2.45) but I guess what else can you expect on the beach (and I'm so happy they have soy milk). Decent food and generous portions.
I get the feeling that this place is somewhat of an institution, as both before and during our trip to Miami, numerous people (both locals and fellow travellers) recommended we visit. From the moment you walk through the door, you immediately get the feeling that this isn’t your typical tourist trap café. While there’re no jazzy napkins or arty wall decorations, you can sense the Cuban routes from the outset. A menu blended with traditional American comfort food and Cuban classics. Our only criticism was our waitress, she was unhelpful, grumpy, and at times rude. The saving grace being the amazing Sammy, who kept us entertained, advised us of places to visit during our stay, told us about some of the famous diners of days gone by, and even posed for a picture or two, he’s a credit to David’s Café Cafecito.
Fantastic sandwiches! The Cubano, authentic is they come, is a given and so are the Plantain Chips. No sauce for me, just platanos. Guy working was clearly busy but got it all out! Nice job.
Nice Cuban sandwich. Old school traditional Cuban restaurant sort of hidden in plain sight. Coffee and fruit drink window can get busy. They need a better name for this place.
I went for lunch at David's Cafe on a Sunday and had food from their daily specials. I had 'caldo gallego' and 'lamb a la gallega'. Both dishes were really good, proper homemade quality and specially the lamb was to die for. The meat fell off the bone, it was really tasty and the price:quality ratio was very adequate. The only thing I didn't like too much was the 'ham and cheese empanada' because it was deep fried (which I wasn't expecting) and a bit too greasy for my liking. The waiter insisted to speak english to me (I'm from Spain) and my Argentinian friend despite him being Cuban and speaking better Spanish than English. We found that rather comical. Service was good overall though. The actual place was nice and clean, nothing pretentious but I quite liked the atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place for lunch if you're after proper good-quality homemade food.
A true 4.3 stars. David’s is a great stop if you’re in the mood for some early Cuban morning mama’s cooking. Their coffee is concocted in a smooth manner and has that taste I crave with my Cuban cuisine breakfast. I ordered both the menu items “Sandwich de Huevos y dos ingredients” and the “Desayuno Cubano: arroz con huevos fritos, maduros, tostada cubana y cafe con leche”. The Cuban bread on the sandwich was nothing short of spectacular. Perfect egg to bacon to potato ratio on the sandwich. With or without ketchup on it, still great. Desayuno hit as well. Rice was not too dry, though I've had better rice. A very comfortable and enjoyable bite. The pricing is reasonable and I walked out a very happy customer. Highly recommended local joint. Farewell, and till next time - CC Rockefeller
Great food, ok service. I couldn’t tell if they were giving us the typical Miami Beach don’t check on your costumer service or they didn’t have enough employees. There was only one waitress working and they were moderately busy. Food was my favorite for Cuban style breakfast. The complementary bread wasn’t good though.
Amazing Cuban-themed restaurant on the main stretch of Alton. You might not notice the entrance from the street as it is a little tucked away. Prices are low and taste is high. Perfect for hangover breakfasts and very filling lunches. I have to knock off a point for how slow service can be and the state of the drinkware. On two occasions I have received a water glass with dried milk on the inside. Was promptly fixed when I mentioned to my server, but a little disheartening in comparison with how great the rest of the experience is.
Loved this place. Love the atmosphere. Never overwhelming when I order food. Of course the food is delicious! I always order the medianoche & plantain chips with the dipping sauce! If you order they use Uber eats & Dasher. Lastly, the staff is awesome and one of the best customer service in a long time. Great job!
It took a looong time for our sandwiches to arrive after ordering. Our server was super nice, but had really dirty fingernails, I hate to have to say. There ended up being a lot of people who came in for lunch, which tells me people love this place! The food WAS actually delicious!
Despite being one of the only groups in the restaurant, we were surprised that the service was a bit slow and at times, confusing. Most of us ordered coffee and I enjoyed my Café con leche, but others were disappointed that the "American Coffee" was a small mug of what tasted like Folgers with no refills. The espresso/Cuban Coffee was strong and rich, with a hint of chocolate. The portion sizes were fair, the Breakfast Burrito being the most popular among our group. I ordered the Cuban French Toast and was delighted! I believe they are made with yams or sweet potatoes, and very tasty. I would visit again.
I would say it's nothing better than average. They have a pretty decent menu but it's a whole lot of the same thing with slightly different ingredients. There are about 4 chicken sandwiches with different toppings. The quality of the food was decent. The speed of service was good but I wasn't very satisfied with my server. She acted annoyed that I was asking for recommendations and for more detail on specific items on the menu. The prices were the most appealing aspect of the restaurant. Relatively cheap. Overall it was average. I might eat here again, but probably not.
David’s. I still miss the ladies at the window of the Meridian Avenue location. I used to just walk over in the mornings before going to work. The lunch counter back in the day had a feeling. It felt so right. We came in one day and ordered a tostada and cafe con leche, felt some sticker shock when I saw the prices. I blame it on taxes and rent. But it keeps me from going more often. Went another time to have Sunday breakfast. Breaking from our usual go-to. The vibe from the wait staff was stressed rushed and impatient. Will be going back to Oliver’s for Sunday breakfast instead.
Its took well over 10mns to even get acknowlweded. Kids running around and screaming. Caffe con leche great taste, had steak sandwich and the fruit salad. Fruit salad had a fresh taste. Their is room for inprovement.
The food was good. The employees were friendly. It was a little hard to communicate because i dont speak spanish well enough. There was an alarming number of fruit flies.
The food is normally good. Sometimes it gets so busy they take forever to even approach customers. If you're staying or work in the nearby area, delivery is the best bet. If you go in person, only park in their dedicated business parking spots. Otherwise, YOU WILL GET TOWED.
We went here as a group of 5. They have set meals for breakfast, and options to order sides etc. We each ordered our choices, which were supposed to come with their own drinks, coffees, juice etc. Our food arrived before the drinks. We then asked for our drinks again, everybody’s arrived but mine. I then asked again, still nothing. I had to ask 3 times to get my coffee, which eventually arrived after I had finished my meal, and the coffee did not taste good. The service in this place was not great at all. However, I can’t knock the food, the food was actually really good. I ordered the vegetable omelette with home fries, and also some pancakes. Everything was very tasty including what my friends ordered. The only thing that let them down was their service, which is why I’m giving 3 stars only.
Not good as expected. We saw the espresso machine then we asked for 3 Americanos. Inmediately the waitress brought 3 regular coffees and he said "I prepared the coffee in the machine and I collect it in the thermo" :p
$10 for cold croquettes and 1 colada. Be careful eating in, they even add a donation to Mt Sinai hospital without your consent (every time)...I guess they found the loophole to a tax break!? Over priced in every sense, quality is lacking in their food! Giving that 1 extra star because there is one friendly waiter (the others are rude and seem annoyed for even placing an order). I get this place is a Miami staple, but it's dirty, over priced and offers the most basic food. Don't recommend.
The juice was average. No cheese on my boyfriends order, despite they had it on the menu. My fries were raw. Asked for a new batch and the waitress avoided eye contact with our table ever since. Had to asked for the fries again and then she yelled in Spanish to someone right behind me that I wanted a new order "because I thought they were uncooked" Between the actual order and the moment it came, she had me out the raw friends on a tiny plate with my own hands..and by then the rest of my food went cold. There's also a fry trap right above the window. Very disappointing. Don't come here.
I asked for some croquettes, pastelitos and milkshake The first ones were cold and weren’t good. The second ones didn’t taste likes the typical “pastelitos” and we’re cold as well. The clerk forgot my order (she was eating something in the kitchen)
Good customer service from the servers (two gentlemen); however , the food has been a dissapointment each time I return. The same dish tastes different each time you go- sometimes tasty and other bland. Empanadas were spoiled - ham was sticky and smelly. Muffins are served either still frozen or smoking hot from the microwave . Cortadito is more like a whole colada with a drop of milk . I understand this place has its history in the area and the servers are great... But unfortunately, the food quality has greatly declined in the last time.
Sunday brunch after a short bike ride. At the beginning everything was great when they gave us coffee without even asking, but after that, the service became terrible. The waitress was stressed and as if the place was full, but no. The place was 60% of its max occupancy. She didn’t take the time to listen to us or answering any question we could have. The order was wrong. We got a plate full of bacon we didn’t order. She said we ordered, and I told her “we are vegetarian, sorry. We don’t eat meat.” Then, when leaving, we asked to the waiter about this really good French toast, and he said “I’m sorry, but I don’t have time to tell you how to make French toast” very rude. In conclusion, the place is nice, a bit noisy. Service terrible and food ok
I came in and sat at the bar. Nobody greeted me or took my order. I tried getting one of the servers attention but it didn’t work. After 15min or so of nothing, I got tired of waiting and left. I just wanted a coffee :(
It's a cozy place, yes, but with bad quality food and coffee and the service was poor and slow, my chicken empanada tasted like it was rotten, it was sour!! It has an amazing location and a great concept, but maybe they're taking everything for granted that this place is already successful and stop putting enough effort, you can do it 100% better
Just showed up @ 9:22 PM, the restaurant closes @ 10pm, as soon as I got out of my car an employee comes OUTSIDE of the restaurant and tells me that they close in 20 min, but that the kitchen was already closed... asked him “so that’s a no then?” And he replied by repeating what he had told me previously... I work in the biz, I understand you want to get out there ASAP after a long slow shift, but if I owned a restaurant, I definitely wouldn’t want my employees turning away a customer that’s been a customer for quite some time... Unfortunately, I won’t be dining at David’s ever again.
This is an honest review in the hope that "David" will read. We've been to South Beach about 5 times and each time we've had the pleasure of eating at David's. The food and atmosphere are authentic but something happened. They closed down and reopened but with this visit to the new location, a lot was left to a bad taste. David, nobody wants to eat at a dirty place. Even if the food is good, a dirty establishment will kill everything. When we arrived (late afternoon) we chose an empty table by the window. Soon we discovered that the table wasn't cleaned yet (that happens sometimes) so we moved. The table we moved to was also dirty as my hand squished some type of left-over food that was on the table. This one was dirtier than the one we left so we returned. The girl who took care of us, just came over and handed us the menu. We were surprised that no effort was made to clean our dirty table; so we asked her to first clean it. She wiped the table down with this disgusting yellow rag. I say disgusting because it smelled "abombaou"...in other words, it smelled like a wet rag that was used many times but never washed. So now we were left with this smell all over our table. Sitting at the window, we couldn't help but notice that all the food crumbs that were swept off of the table with the dirty yellow rag, fell to the floor. David, go look at it yourself. Look at where the glass and the floor meet and look at all the food stuff. The bathroom (women's) was filthy. My wife said the toilet seat was broken and the mirror had this crud all around the edges...like maybe somebody just cleans the glass and nothing else. Sorry to write such a bad review. As I said, this place used to be a great place but after what I saw, I will never eat here again. We took a taxi just to get to David's new location because we remembered the food was good. Not anymore. There are many other places that will get my business. David, get your place cleaned up. Clean the tables with a squirt of 409 or something, not a re-used nasty rag.
This company is indebted to their vendor for more than $738, for work my client performed, and they did not pay for. Our client, as well as our office, has reached out to both the owner and the business directly, trying to resolve the matter, and every letter, email, text, and phone call goes unanswered. I would not recommend doing business with this company or this owner, if they do not pay my client, who is to say they will pay anyone else?
I'm glad to see other folks like this hole in the wall/dirty place!!! My daughter just moved to the area and we went for breakfast, OMG we walked out and the waitress chased us down trying to apologize for not acknowledging us a good 20mi. In other words BAD customer service and cannot comment on the food because we had none! Will never go again!!! What a disaster that place! 1 start cause I had to give it something
Very disappointed in the bland food and terrible service. There were very few customers in the restaurant and the three waitresses that walked by didn't ever ask if we needed water in our emptied cups. I've lived in Miami 21 years and know Cuban food. Media noche was over priced and very small with only a small pile of potato fries. The bread was burned on the outside and soggy inside, not like media noche sandwiches are supposed to be. Also there were three tiny slices of pickle on the whole sandwich and there was no mayonesa. Burger came with fries weren't hot or cooked, nor did they have flavor. The burger was mostly bread with a very small piece of meat, smothered in lumpy lettuce. There was also a large open container of sauce that was laying on the counter from before we arrived and was still laying out when we left. Because of the open window, there were flies. The waitress walked by many times, and we had to get her attention to get the bill. Most of the time the waitresses were standing around talking or just standing staring into space. We had to wave them down to get water, to ask for sauce, and to get the bill.
Worst place in south beach, when looked for 1 hour good cafe, went there, very rude personal. I asked can I order? He said yes, I said ok, this coffee...and he said order it there if you take only coffee. I said no, I want sandwich too...(?). He said have your sit, I take order than. I sit down, look at him, he looked at me. Than he start to put water in full glasses of other quests, than came to me I asked for sandwich and maybe you have latte? He said - yes, this; and run away! I look at him, he asked something from other part of restaurant, came again. I asked will you take order, I asked about coffee ? Or you just ran away? He started to explain menu and I said no, I will go to other cafe. And just in other side of road there Taste Bakery Cafe with really delicious things! Never go again to the David’s Cafe
The place is very nice, the service was terrible. The waiter came to my table 5 times but I never got the chance to order because he was more interested on gossiping with other clients. Left without eating after waiting 30 min
Our waiter lacked the basic human decency. She was very rude to us. She took order for just one of us and walked away. We told her that coffee is good. She walked away without even acknowledgening us. She slid the food on the table and walked away looking the other way. Even after all that we tried to be nice and left a tip since the owner sensed the situation and tried to mend it... We read so many good reviews about this place and left with such a disappointment. It's not only the food which makes a restaurant great. It's the people who work there. I hope it doesn't happen to others...
I hate giving this place 1 star. It is my local Cuban Coffee spot. But I took a friend that was visiting for the Super Bowl here for lunch and got the worst service I have ever had in Miami. The waiter was rude and dismissive. We each ordered a cafecito and a water to go with our meal. We never received a refill on the water, the waiter never checked back in with us. After waiting for 20 minutes after we done eating for our check, I asked another waiter of he could bring it. He ignored me. I finally had to yell across the restaurant to ask my waiter to bring my bill. He still took 15 minutes and avoided us. The food here is good. It serves better service so that people can have a better experience of the restaurant.
I went to this place for dinner, and I was petrified! The hygiene standard is to low. The server has no manners and he’s customer service skills are the worst, besides that he had an unpleasant odor. Who wants to pay for a dinner in a restaurant where the server has no hygiene? The food wasn’t the best! The Mariquitas were fry with fish oil, the congry rice tasted horrible, and the salad was musty and no dressing was provided. When I grabbed the salt almost felt due to dirtiness of the bottle. This place is nasty and unpleasant, and the most important thing is; people that come from others country to know the Cuban food will be disappointed. This is far away of what Cuban food is. This is an insult to the Cuban intelligence.
We arrived in town pretty early and needed to grab something to eat while we waited for our rooms to be prepared for check-in. Being here in Miyon many occasions, we would visit “David’s Cafe” when it was located off Collins Ave and had an Amazing Experience!! Well NOT THIS TIME!!! We arrived a little after 11am and really wanted to have Breakfast, and was presented with sticky, yuckish breakfast menus. The waitress finally came over to take our order, and as she was taking our order she never gave eye contact, and was looking elsewhere. Well, of course the food was delivered all wrong, missing items, and served with items we didn’t even order? When we brought it to the waitress attention, things turned and service got so much more worst!! She came back to our table a few times and greeted us as if we just sat down? So weird!! She then brought bacon out to my brother who didn’t receive it in his original order, and the bacon looked old, not fresh, and looked days dried out! We were very disappointed in the service compared to the older location. Not sure if ownership or management has changed, but this is definitely NOT the David’s Cafe were use to visiting. Food & Service was No BUENO!!
Horrible food ....the bacon was kept under a lamp, dry and tasteless. I returned it and the server brought more of the same. Slow and indifference to the customers. They also add a $.25 charge to your bill for the Mount Sinai insurance collective ...use to love David's when they were on Lincoln Road ...typical when the owner passes away so does the quality. Never again!
It was the worst Cuban food we have ever had and we have always lived in Miami Beach and loved Cuban food. The service was also bad. No bread was given. The meat was tough and the chicken had no taste. The bill was $40 and it was money not well spent. barbara
I have no idea how this place is over 4 stars. Maybe there is something we didnt see. I would give cleanliness zero stars, service two stars, and food two stars. When we walked in for early breakfast, no other customer were present and four employees were around. No one greeted us, so we sat ourselves. When someone finally came and brought menus, they didnt ask if we wanted drinks. When a waiter finally came back, I ordered one plate and my fiance ordered a blueberry muffin that she never received. The waiter must have forgot one of two things we ordered because the muffin we didnt receive was not on our bill thankfully. Lastly, they must not clean the bathrooms daily because there was piss on the floor, which makes me question how often and well they clean the areas we cant see.
Worst coffee I have ever tried. They have a espresso machine and don't know how to use it. The service was poor. In other hand, The place looks beautiful. If u have a name with 2 time coffee, u should know better how to properly make them.
Food is always good but David you need to get friends to go as guest without your staff knowing and let them give you a review on how they treat your customers. I had a bad experience recently with the new guy with the round hat you hired I didn't eat my food just asked for the bill and walked out on how disappointed he got me. Sadly I'm done eating here for good and word of advice. If your not in top of your business your gonna have to close down I suggest you fight for what your dad faught for and not let it go down....
I picked it up, then I picked it clean the floor but NOT the spoon. the same cloth that cleaned the floor clean the table of chopping the bread. the little organized place in the kitchen area. The only thing I loved about that place was the waitress who treated me very well. I pass all the days out there and I wanted to try that place but I do not come back anymore. in Supermarket president is better and above all more economical. very small toast
