Recensioni di La Bodega Miami
I hosted my first Sip & Sew event at La Bodega Latin Cuisine on October 4th, and it truly exceeded my expectations! From the planning process to the day-of service — everything was seamless. The food, the coffee, and the presentation were absolutely perfect. Neil and Maricarmen were amazing partners to work with. They went above and beyond to bring my vision to life. The way they displayed the food and coffee was stunning and felt so authentic to the Dominican Republic — a beautiful homage to our culture. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and my guests couldn’t stop raving about the experience. I’m so grateful to have collaborated with such a wonderful team. If you’re looking for a place to host your next private event, I can’t recommend La Bodega Latin Cuisine enough! The food speaks for itself — and the hospitality makes it unforgettable.
I found this restaurant on google maps and it caught my eye how good the food looked and all the good reviews. After trying the food I can say it was so much better than what I expected. This restaurant served AUTHENTIC DOMINICAN FOOD. The food had great flavor, they gave a very good portion and prices were reasonable. I also enjoyed their passion fruit juice that was made from scratch. The service was good, and the people that served us where helpful and friendly. The restaurant is nicely decorated and it gives a enjoyable family vibe.
5/5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely incredible Dominican food and service at La Bodega in Jersey City! This place is a true gem. Every single dish we've tried has been nothing short of spectacular – seriously, there hasn't been one we didn't love. The passionfruit juice is a must-try, and I highly recommend the oxtail, lamb, and sancocho. Each dish is bursting with flavor and clearly made with care. Beyond the amazing food, the staff here is super helpful and genuinely friendly. They really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. On our last visit, they even surprised us with a complimentary piece of their coffee flan, which was absolutely delicious! Such a thoughtful touch. If you're in Jersey City and looking for fantastic food with a warm, inviting atmosphere, La Bodega is the place to go. Highly, highly recommend!
The best place in Jersey City to eat Dominican food. The service also fantastic and the please looks great. A hidden gem 💎
My boyfriend, our one-year-old daughter, and I had such a wonderful meal here! We started with the morir soñando—it was my daughter’s first time trying it, and she couldn’t get enough (a parenting win!). I devoured the carne guisada with arroz Moro and sweet plantains, while my boyfriend loved his pollo guisado with white rice and red beans. We even grabbed pastelitos de queso to go—so flaky and delicious! As a bonus, I snagged a few cute pins for my collection. As someone who creates content for local families (Hoboken Families/JCFamilies), I’m always thrilled to find spots that are both kid-friendly and this tasty. Can’t wait to come back and share this gem with our community!
While traveling through Jersey City on our way back to Connecticut, we came across a Dominican restaurant with a cool name that caught our eye. Curious, we decided to step inside, and the atmosphere immediately gave off island vibes, reminding me of home (my family is from Puerto Rico). We were warmly greeted and placed our food order. Having tried many Dominican restaurants before, I can confidently say nothing compares to the quality and flavor of their food. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by to dine in and enjoy their delicious dishes!
Came from Virginia to visit family and came across this place on TikTok. So glad I did! The food was amazing. The portions were big and the service was great. Definitely lived up to the hype. I’ll be back next time I’m in town!
Fantastic Dominican spot just down the street from The Heights Farmers Market. The staff were so friendly and took great care of us. I got salmon with white rice, beans and some of the chicken stew sauce drizzled on top of the rice with plantains and home made lemonade on the side. The restaurant recently has rebranded and remodeled and looks spectacular! Great atmosphere with ample seating in a light and airy space. This is a great spot to hit after doing your late morning shopping at the Farmers Market. I'll definitely be back soon. Even if you aren't usually adventurous, I guarantee you'll find something here that you love.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Super clean and the dacor is definitely modern and up to date with an old school domican feel to it. The little souvenir store in the back is an AMAZING touch if you want a momento from your visit! The food was definitely fresh and delicious. Was definitely cooked by an ACTUAL Dominican woman. The meal reminded me of when my grandmother used to cook for the family. Prices are right on par for the portions and the quality of the food. I highly recommend it especially since it's ACTUAL Dominican homemade food. Note to self : "You get what you pay for."
The food display was extremely good and everything looked great. They have a lot of options in the morning, so whether you are in the mood for breakfast or lunch, the option is there. - I have to honestly say they have the best Chicharron that I’ve had in a while. The owner was extremely nice and personal. The environment is relaxing with an open space layout. I love the display in the back, made me feel like I was at wella (grandma) house - I recommend the Chicharron. And they have this Dominican drink you should try. The mango con salami and cheese was very fulfilling. The food and portions for the price they have it as, was good as well
I was at the dmv and googled a place to eat lunch and let me tell you, this is the perfect place to get a bite at any time. It’s super cool in here even on a super hot day. The food is so fresh and none of it looks or tastes old, upon entering the energy is absolutely incredible. The owner greets you and even told us all about the history of the restaurant and how it was his wifes dads spot. once you place your order from the buffet you can sit where you like. My husband got the oxtail with mango and I got Tres Golpe with a tamarindo and morir soñando. The store is absolutely amazing the brick wall just adds a nice touch and the bodegita had me feeling like I was in a colmadon in DR. I got products native to my country and my husband checked out. Completely worth the visit and I can’t wait to be back!
I visit every other day to pick up a delicious cafe con leche and an empanada before I go to work. The flavors are unbeatable and the people so incredibly warm. Not to mention the prices! It’s a reasonable amount for a generous portion of food. It’s like my own grandmother served me a plate. So grateful to have them in my neighborhood. Now more than ever!! 🥰
Great food and great environment, honest , Dominican food gourmet style, without getting bankrupt.A great gastronomic experience at Jersey City hights, great variation of authentic Dominican food, also espresso,or cafe con leche, and some traditional Dominican sweet afterwards,Our servers, Neal and Genesis went above and beyond to help to have a great lunch experience at this great place. Good relation quality of food and prices, Highly recommend it, doesn't matter your background, this food is great for everyone!
Best pernil I've had in jersey. (I've never had better than the Bronx) sorry. I will definitely be returning to try some of their other dishes. Everything looked fresh and delicious.
Spacious, delicious, and heart warming staff. I'm still making my way through all the land animals, but suffice to say Dominican flavors here are fire. I kid you not, I could eat their rice and beans for lunch and that would satisfy. You can choose less savory sides to balance your plate... But not me as evidenced by my photos. The neighborhood is on the up and up and they're fortunate to have La Bodega close by. Thankfully my office is close by too 😅
They brought santo domingo to jersey city!!! Great place great employees welcoming smiling happy - great atmosphere, absolutely loved it. They are super accommodating and the food is fantastic!!!!

I tried their chicharrón and it was absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. To finish off the meal, I had the coffee flan, and wow—what a treat! Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!

La Bodega is truly special in every way. The food is hands down some of the best Dominican food I have ever had, reminiscent of the cooking I grew up on. My family had oxtail, stew chicken, empanadas and tres leche for desert. The decor is also super thoughtful & honoring to Dominican culture. This place checks all the boxes!! If you want a cozy atmosphere and real authentic food, this place is it.
Amazing authentic Dominican food with a clean and welcoming environment and great music. I stayed in NJ for three days for a tournament and went there two because of the variety and taste of the food! Exceptional and a must visit!!!!!
I never order Dominican food out because my family is Dominican and I’m particular about it. La Bodega exceeded my expectations though. They will have a loyal customer moving forward and I plan to bring family and friends. Everything my husband and I had was delicious! And the restaurant is beautiful. The service is impeccable. Neal, the owner goes above and beyond…something I appreciate as a picky pregnant woman. God bless this new restaurant. Excited for their future in JC.
My family and I traveled all the way from Georgia to experience the culture and food at the bodega. It exceeded our expectations. I had the rabo encendido and its was extremely flavorful and tender just as I remember it when my grandmother use to make it for us. My wife had the pollo guisado and she was amazed by the flavor and juiciness of the chicken. The food was amazing but what captivated our attention the most was the small spot in the back with authentic Dominican products, It was such a nostalgic experience. We ended up buying the Dominican Dominos and a recipe book with traditional dominican dishes. If you are ever in the area it is a MUST to stop by!
Good vibes, good staff and good food. Bring an extra stomach because or you’ll leave stuffed.
This place is amazing with very authentic music and food. The servers are very nice and outgoing. This place makes you feel like you are in DR living the best life. 100% would recommend visiting while in Jersey City.
I recently partnered with La Bodega for a company lunch, and the entire experience was seamless from start to finish. Neal was responsive and helpful throughout the process, ensuring all details were taken care of. Most importantly, the food was delicious and a hit with our team! Thank you, Neal and La Bodega, for making our event a success!
A Taste of the Dominican Republic Like No Other! From the moment I walked through the doors of this incredible Dominican restaurant, I was transported straight to the Caribbean. The atmosphere is warm, vibrant, and full of life — a perfect balance of traditional island charm and modern elegance. Every detail of the décor, from the hand-painted murals to the soft lighting and rustic wood accents, creates an immersive, cozy space that’s both Instagram-worthy and authentically Dominican. Now, let’s talk about the food — absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was a celebration of bold, fresh flavors. I also loved the selection of fresh juices. I had the flan for dessert and it was the best I’ve had in my life! This place is more than just a restaurant — it’s an experience. Whether you're Dominican and craving a true taste of home, or new to the cuisine and looking to fall in love, this spot delivers in every way. Highly recommend, and already planning my next visit!
Food was a good portion for the cost and it tasted good too. Could better utilize the space they have. But it's a simple nice atmosphere. For a nice stop, chat or solo eat spot. Would easily make it a reoccurring visit. It's good for a small group but I can see them accommodating larger groups of 10-12
Just ate today after a long shift at the clinic.. Great place for authentic Latin food. My husband and I just had a great dinner. The Chivo ( goat stew) was incredible! Everything we ate was delicious. Definitely a true gem in the Jersey city heights. It’s true authentic Dominican food and incredible staff. From the gentleman at the counter, to the lovely ladies that work there too. The restaurant is a definitely eye pleasing atmosphere especially the decor. Still the star of the place is the food. It was soo good I bought two extra plates home for my daughters. Worth every penny!
I stumbled upon La Bodega by pure coincidence after 20 minutes of searching for parking. What a pleasant surprise it turned out to be! I'm so glad I didn't give up. Once inside, the experience was wonderful. Carolina, the young lady who attended to me, was an amazing part of it with her excellent, attentive service. But what truly made the experience memorable was the food—it was absolutely delicious! Definitely will come back.
I recently visited this restaurant and had an incredible experience. The beef stew was simply amazing, bursting with flavors that perfectly blended together, making every bite memorable. The environment of the restaurant was clean and presentable, creating a welcoming atmosphere that enhanced the dining experience. The empanadas were fantastic. To top it off, the passion fruit drink was very refreshing, the perfect balance of sweet and tart. I'm thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food and the ambiance of this place. I give it a 5-star rating and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delightful culinary experience.
Best place ever!!!! Food was delicious and vibes was super cool I will definitely be back again thank you!!!!
I cannot sing La Bodega’s praises enough. 10/10 food, service & vibes. We tried their new menu and their spin on a classic flan was out of this world. The vibes were immaculate, it felt like home. They will be seeing me again soon.
I recently visited this place with my family for a meal, and it exceeded all of my expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. The atmosphere was cozy, welcoming, and spotlessly clean. I particularly enjoyed the latte and tamarind juice. The salmon, pork, and oxtail dishes were all incredibly tasty. I am definitely planning to return for another visit on one of the upcoming weekends.
I had dinner in La Bodega with my family recently and had a wonderful experience. The setting was calm and appealing, perfect for a great dinning experience. We received our dishes quickly and they did not disappoint! Staff was friendly, food was delicious, and my family was content. I look forward to visiting again.
La Bodega is more than just a restaurant — it’s an experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth, smiles, and a sense of home. The owners have created something truly special here. Their story is rooted in love, tradition, and Dominican pride, and that passion shines through in every corner of the restaurant. The staff? Absolutely incredible. Every person who works at La Bodega treats you like family. It’s the kind of place where you feel welcomed, seen, and appreciated — like you’re at a big Dominican family gathering. Now, let’s talk about the food. Wow. Every dish is a trip straight to the heart of the D.R. Whether it’s the perfectly seasoned pollo guisado, the crispy tostones, or the rich and flavorful moro, each bite brings memories flooding back. The flavors are authentic, comforting, and made with so much love. You can truly taste the heritage in every meal. La Bodega is hands down the best Dominican restaurant around. If you haven’t been here yet, you are seriously missing out. Trust me — one visit and you’ll be hooked.
Looking forward to returning. Classic DR dishes and the owners created a warm inviting place to share a good meal. New to the menus, an espresso flan! I cleaned the plate.
Amazing authentic Dominican Food, oxtail was amazing. Great customer service
La bodega is amazing, great food amazing people good customer service ❤️ they like family love em !
Best and the most authentic Dominican food I’ve ever had. Really tastes homemade and you get so much food for the money. Staffs are friendly and nice, treat us like family. Place is clean and welcoming. Will come back again.
This is my 2nd time going to La Bodega and both times the food was phenomenal. I ordered the Pernil the first time with rice and beans and a beef empanada on the side and the taste and portion was amazing. Today I ordered the oxtail stew and definitely a 10/10. One of the best oxtail dishes I ever had.
The food here is absolutely incredible. I'm legit a regular here because it's my favorite spot in the heights. The portions here are massive and the food is so wildly good. The staff is also so kind and helpful. If you're new to Dominican food they will guide you towards something you'll find delicious. Honestly it doesn't get more heights than this place because their family has owned the location for years. Thank you La Bodega for your amazing service and delicious food. I appreciate all the work and love you put into the food!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Bodega Jersey City, and it was truly an experience to remember. This restaurant and market are not just about delicious food; they are deeply rooted in the community. I tried their phenomenal fried fish fillet , and it exceeded all expectations. What sets La Bodega apart is their commitment to amplifying Dominican brand owners in their market. Learning about their journey and seeing how this establishment has evolved from a bodega to a restaurant and market is inspiring. La Bodega, a community hub owned for almost three generations, has truly become a community staple, and I can't wait to go back for more. If you're looking for a place with great food and a strong community focus, La Bodega Jersey City is the place to be.
There are many things I could say, but the primary reason to come back is the orgullo que se siente/ (the pride that you feel) of tasting and being in an environment that reminds you of home. The delicious food and the joyful people. What a delight. Loved the chimis and all the atmosphere. Willl be back!
I was finally able to visit La Bodega. My family of 7 took the trip down from Westchester, NY, for dinner. The ambience was warm, welcoming, and beautiful! We each got different meats along with rice, beans and maduros- the food did not disappoint! The service was prompt and friendly- we felt right at home. Absolutely retuning.
La Bodega is worth the trip from Dumont. The taste is authentic and great service. The best part is that they have a variety of items from Dominican Republic. Give it a try and you won’t regret it.
I hosted a private birthday event at La Bodega and my guests and I had the best time. The food was great and the helpful service was sincerely appreciated. From idea to execution the owners made it easy and simple for me. If you need an event catered, and/or would like to host a private event, look no further. Separate from this event and their lunch/dinner menu, I’ve passed by specifically for their avena (oatmeal) (which is the best comfort morning food you could have), and yummy empanadas when I’ve needed a little snack.
La Bodega is soooo good! My friends and I came here and we all had the best time ever. I know it was renovated and it looks wonderful! It’s been a while since I found a place nearby with GOOD latin cuisine. Can’t wait to come back!!
This was my first time at La Bodega and all I can say is that I’m sad I didn’t know about this place before. From the delicious Caribbean dishes to the AMAZING customer service they provide, this place should definitely be on everyone’s top 5 places to eat.
It’s been way too long since I last stepped foot in La Bodega in Jersey City, and honestly, I feel like I’ve been depriving myself of some Latin happiness. You know that feeling when you run into an old flame and suddenly remember why you fell in love in the first place? Yeah, that’s me thinking about their Oxtail with chicharrones, Chicken, Spanish rice and all their fixings. The oxtail? Fall-off-the-bone tender, so rich and flavorful. The chicharrones? Crispy, salty, and absolutely life-changing. And don’t even get me started on the Spanish rice—perfectly seasoned, fluffy, and the ultimate sidekick to all that deliciousness. I feel like I need to catch flight out to New Jersey as this is some food I am definently craving.
Place is fantastic Food is delicious, fresh. Lots of goodies from the Dominican republic. Highly recommend this place. Try the sandwich with a fresh natural juice, to die for.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely love this spot! The food never fails—always fresh, flavorful, and high-quality. There’s a great variety on the menu, so there’s something for everyone. The owner is incredibly welcoming, and the ambience makes you feel right at home. You can tell there’s pride behind everything they do. One of my go-to Dominican restaurants, hands down.
I have been meaning to visit but finally ordered for a small family gathering. From start to finish, the staff was so incredibly helpful. I placed the order ahead of time and things were ready & fresh when I arrived. They even helped me bring it to my car. It was also perfectly and thoughtfully packaged which is appreciated for takeout! The food was beyond my expectations and everyone loved it! Can’t wait to return.
Great food and friendly service! This is one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood to grab lunch. The beef stew is my favorite!
I've traveled to over 40+ countries.. I have fine dined and eaten at local spots.. when I tell you this is some of the best Dominican food I've ever had! It just taste like home.. doesn't matter where you're from you can taste the love poured into fr food. They are doing good 100% correct and I will send everyone there. Everything delicious- service A1.. Just a great authentic spot.. you must try.. With love- Dani The Great- capetown school / founder
I had the best experience dining here. The owners were so down to earth and the food was incredible. One of few spots around with honest pricing. The la yola sampler was out of this world and the flan dessert is a must get. There’s so many options for everyone. Decorated so nicely and warm inside with family history on the walls. They even have a market where you can buy things as well. Definitely going back here!!
The food is very delicious! The interior of the restaurant has a cozy Dominican family restaurant vibe; great for families with children. And the prices are reasonable! Anyone living in JC Heights - I can recommend giving this place a try if you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere with great good.
Dreams come true in America. Besides the beautiful people behind the counter you will get the friendly , grateful , service we all crave. Hmm how about the food? Food is reasonable , delicious and the finest you will find at a Dominican restaurant. The warmth of the food cannot compare to the warmth of the smiles from the staff. God Bless capitalism, risk, and success to this family business.
The food is fantastic. My partner and I both had the oxtail stew with rice and peas. The oxtail was tender and the rice and peas were so flavorful. Will definitely be coming back!
I went there for the first time today and it was great! If your looking for authentic Latin food I definitely recommend them.
If you are looking for best quality Dominican food, this is the place you must go. Clean restaurant, healthy food, delicious taste, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. All in one
I really enjoyed my food here and loved the atmosphere and employees. Looking forward to coming back soon. Loved the music too.
The history and the design of this place are beautiful. Everything from the murals and wall tell the story of the owner and her family. Bodegas are a staple of the community, but this particular one is has been community of Dominican community for 30 years and counting. I also loved how they paid tribute to their roots by keeping a piece of the original bodega. All the food here is fresh and delicious. This place was the first time I tried La Bandera (the national dish of Dominican Republic) it consisted of beans, chicken, plantain, and avocado. It was one of the most flavorful dishes I've ever had. The beans had a smoky melt-in- your-mouth quality that I love while tender juicy chicken fell right of the bone. I finished it off with refreshing tamarind juice. Every time I talk to my Dominican and Hispanic friends I make sure to tell them about La Bodega!
I recently ate here and had such an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious hands down the best Dominican food in Hoboken. Everything was full of flavor and freshly made. Our server, Amy, made the whole experience even better. She was super friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I definitely plan on coming back soon and bringing my family with me. Hopefully Amy’s working next time because her service was incredible! ❤️
I love La Bodega JC! Not only do they sell gourmet Dominican Food at an affordable price but their community presence is grand. They are a holistic restaurant that provides quality food and provide opportunities for the community to gather! La Bodega JC is a pillar to the JC community and I am so grateful! They allowed us to host a sewing workshop and their attentiveness and accomodation aided in the success of our program! Thank you La Bodega JC for your support for all of us new entrepreneurs!

I recently ate here and had such an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious hands down the best Dominican food in Hoboken. Everything was full of flavor and freshly made. I got lunch the other day to be honest everything in the buffet look fresh and delicious . I got 2 lunches with fried fish with mixed vegetables and it was very good. My only thing I do understand everything is expensive but it was a bit pricey for the neighborhood.
Resturant aesthetics are beautiful. I was craving pernil (only pernil) and came into this resturant with high hopes based on past reviews. I get there and the woman behind the counter is preoccupied on her cellphone. When she finally notices me she tries to make up by talking about some nonsense related to FanDual betting and Zelle, before I can even get my order out. Once I say my order (and before she starts packing my order), I specifically asked for only pernil with the least amount of actual fat and skin. I am not naive and know that pernil is naturally a fatty cut of meat, but I was hoping I could get more of the meatier pieces. While the employee is yapping about nonsense, I remind her about my request because I see her scooping a big piece of soggy skin and fat. She stops mind track and drains the excess oil and said that "its going to be hard because you got mostly meat". However, I see there are other meaty pieces still in the bin, but I don't want to go back and forth with her so I let it go. She also didn't know the price point of my order, so she ask "Neal" who is restocking shelves for the price, which seems like he made on the fly. The subtotal was $8.00, but after all the taxes, fees, and tip, it came out to $9.79. Please take a look at the attach pictures (one before I started eating and the other after I was done eating) and you make your own opinion. Some additional context to consider is that the day of this purchase the house special of the day was pernil.

Although the food here is somewhat good depends on what you order my main gripe is ... I went in for takeout and I spent over $40 with a small beef stew a little bit of white rice tue container wasn't even full and two pieces of chicharron de cerdo. As I saw her ring it up $24 for 2 pieces of the pork rings. Which I jokingly said " I could've bought two whole pernils for that amount and cooked them myself". Being from NYC im used to dining for alot of money but this is way pver priced and not over the top flavor. For them to be Hispanic the food and prices could be better. Ive become disappointed with this spot.
So hugely expensive, $16.00 for a half pint of stew on its own, crazy. Have a steak somewhere else
I go for an item on the menu. Not available. I ask for empanada with meat. Don't have it. Come on now...what kind of restaurant are you?
Terrible food. I ordered oxtails, moro and tostones and it was just not good. The rice was old and the oxtails had an underwhelming taste/ were burnt on the bottom and the tostones were really dry. I spent $42 and ended up throwing the food out. Had high hopes for a place with 4.8 stars but was disappointed after trying. Please do better
Ordered a sanche yesterday it was so salty and didn’t taste like a soup at all Then there pernil was like pulled pork The skin was so soft like it was not right the skin is supposed to be hard to enjoy it also the rice had no taste at all I’m sorry but I tried it for the first time and I believe it will be my last but to have 4.8 that is wild to me
