Tip: If you're looking for a place to dance, La Mesa offers a vibrant Miami nightlife experience with salsa, merengue, bachata, and timba music.
My family and I celebrate at my daughter's birthday there yesterday after church. The atmosphere was amazing though they only had the brunch.Menu available when we requested the full menu they catered to our request. Furthermore they went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant experience. Even more amazing and to God be the glory we left a present behind.🫣 We were calling the wrong location and the manager Jose Rodriguez, got in touch with the Doral location and assured us that the present was being stored for us.For pick up thank you for everything and your honesty!!!
Wonderful time celebrating my sister’s birthday! The food is very good!! I only ate a few bites, but wow! Super impressed! The bar was slammed in a good way. Our waitress was amazing and so kind. The music was so much fun, as were the performers and musicians. We were all up dancing! Will definitely return!
I want to thank Luis and his staff in making my daughters fifteens dinner a memorable one! Luis went above and beyond to make sure everything was coordinated and perfect for this special day! Staff was all very friendly and super attentive. The food and drinks were amazing & the music + the place was definitely a vibe! Thank you again!! We all had an amazing night! 💓

This place is perfect for a nice night out for drinks, food and ambiance. Went with my family for a concert and we had the best time. Yiansy was so nice and charismatic when she served us. Would recommend 10/10
The best brunch in Doral. They have live dj & also a dancing show around 2pm. Food was good, lobster Mac & cheese my fav 🔥
An incredible place to have fun and embrace yourself! The food was delicious, the music was fantastic, and the customer service was top-notch. Highly recommend! @milesdreamlife 🇨🇴

Delicious Food and great atmosphere. I highly recommend this place. Today is my first time and of course that I’ll come back. The service was absolutely amazing, Isabel and Marisabel made our experience incredible. Keep the great job that you’re doing girls! Thank you so much!
This place is amazing, they have a presenter from Levis Production that is goes from good to exceptional great, the music from DJ segura is for all from reggaeton to salsa and even pop, is very safe and all the staff and waitresses make you feel at home. definitely the best location in Miami.
Wonderful hidden spot. Give it a try. One drawback was the $60 cover to hear an unknown artist but besides that, the service is top notch. Let's see if the rest matches!
The energy here during brunch is incredible. The lovely atmosphere and superb menu variety set the stage for a memorable meal. The staff's hospitality is exceptional.
I had a girls day brunch with my friends. We had a blast. The environment was amazing and everyone was friendly and enjoying themselves. The aesthetics of the restaurant is very nice. I was able to take lots of pictures.
Appetizers are amazing the main course it's good but not like the Appetizers. The mix drinks are well made average price is $14 for a drink but thats miami lol. Definitely will come back maybe drink beer or show up drunk already 🤪 lol. $10 valet parking. But the service is GREAT. thank you LA MESA for a wonderful night.
I have lunch at the cafeteria area 3 out 5 days of the weekdays weekly. Irenia and Nayla treat me so good that I feel like I’m in my house every time. They are always asking me if I need something, if the food was good, if I need more water, it is just amazing, and that is the secret that keeps me coming back week after week. I have also brought my wife and friends to have lunch inside. Also, I haven gone in different occasions for business lunches.
12/13/24 Update: Lunch specials for $11.99 are awesome. Typically they offer 3 different dishes per day which include 2 sides and a small dessert or coffee. Really good deal for the quantity of food and quality. Our waitress was excellent. We will be going back soon, specially since the lunch specials are such a great deal. Give them a try. Pros: Delicious food, ample parking, waitress took our order quickly, ample sitting area. Cons: A bit slow to bring out the food, specially when the place wasn't packed. It had a normal sized lunch crowd, nothing too big. I will definitely be going back to try other items on the menu.
From the aesthetics, to the food, to the music, and to the server Elizabeth. A 10/10 recommend. If you go here, make sure you ask for Elizabeth she will make sure you leave the restaurant feeling more than happy. I came here for my grandparents anniversary and it was the best! Top notch! ❤️
Place is beautiful. Service is extraordinary. Food was delicious and presentation was WOW. Elizabeth is #1 server and Ariel was excellent. Friendly staff. Belly dancers were engaging and exquisite and can’t forget DJ Segura played a wonderful mix of English and Spanish hits. Will definitely return!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Great place for a fun group celebration. Went with a group of 12 to celebrate a birthday and everyone enjoyed their dishes. Portions were generous, especially the picanha for two. The cocktails were inventive and tasty. The server was attentive and friendly. We appreciated her thoughtfulness when she advised that she thought we were ordering too many appetizers, but we had several teenage boys in the group, so too much food was not an issue, lol. The house band La Linea was fantastic. Very talented, and they played all the hits you would expect. They created a fun party vibe, and most everyone ended up on the dancefloor, which was full but not crowded. It seemed every table was celebrating a birthday, and the staff did a nice job with singing, signs, glowsticks, etc.
La Mesa exceeded our expectations! The staff's politeness added a special touch to the fantastic dining experience. The food was superb, drinks delightful, and the music created the perfect ambiance. Professional groups kept us entertained, turning the night into a dance-filled delight. Clean bathrooms and speedy valet parking were the cherries on top of this reasonably priced gem.
Yiansy was our server, and she was great. She was attentive, kind, and always checking that our drinks weren’t empty and that we were enjoying our food. A selling point for me when trying a new restaurant is their service, and her service was good enough to bring me back. The only thing I didn’t like was how loud the music was playing. It was hard to converse or hear the other person's voice over the music. Food was 10/10!
First time at this place was excellent!! Live band, great dancers, everyone enjoying themselves and it felt short and we were there for 4 hours. Every now and then they have live music on the weekends, you have to check to see who's playing, cover charge 20 for man, ladies in free, beer a little spensive but overall great place
More often than not, I usually write reviews for bad experiences. However I was very impressed with the quality of the food, cleanliness and the friendly service here, which is not typical of most Cuban restaurants in this area. Food was great tasting without being overly greasy. Moreover, the prices were very reasonable. Keep up the good work guys!!!
The best restaurant, server Ana is amazing….. I recommend this place 100%
I am the leader of a large group of salsa dancers, and we go to La Mesa Doral every Sunday for Matinee. We enjoy the best music in Miami by DJ Cabrera, the ambiance is fun and pleasant, there is no fee to get in, free parking, you cannot ask for more! The best of the best!
Sure, here's a sample review for a waitress: "I had an exceptional dining experience thanks to our waitress, Leticia Her attentiveness, friendly demeanor, and knowledge of the menu made our evening enjoyable. She was prompt with service and ensured all our needs were met. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for outstanding service."
Awesome place with great Cuban food. I found their food very tasty. From their coffee and croquetas to their full menu. They offer plenty of options as well as daily specials. The place is extremely clean. They have a bar with a great selection of wines, an open area for dining with huge televisions, and a cafeteria for quick pick ups. I found the staff very friendly and I look forward to coming back! (Don’t forget dessert! They have a great selection)
Very nice atmosphere, we went for a comedy event and it was splendid. The food and drinks were delicious and nice portions. Will definitely come back!
I rented the restaurant for a corporate party. The management was extremely helpful and flexible. The food was delicious, the service amazing and the band was a true icing on the cake. We had the best time ever!
i had my company holiday party here and it was amazing the service, ambience, and the service the manager was great to work with and my server yiansy gave my employees the best service ever! we are so pleased will be returning!!!
✅️✅️✅️✅️✅️✅️✅️ I rate it a 10. The service was amazing, in love with the atmosphere 😍. We got LA VACA “ROLA” 1.5 Ibs of perfectly grilled Miami-style skirt steak with white rice and French fries. We also ordered parrilla for 2 but it's alot of food, I could say 4 people could eat out of it. Don't forget to order some cocktails, they are delicious and very refreshing for this summer.
If you're looking for an authentic Cuban dining experience, this restaurant is an excellent choice. The food is outstanding, with rich and traditional flavors that truly capture the essence of Cuban cuisine. The service is top-notch, with attentive staff making sure you feel right at home. The prices are very reasonable, offering great value for the quality of the meal. The family-friendly atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for sharing a meal with loved ones. Definitely a place I'd recommend and return to!
Everything was really good at this place. The artist didn't stop singing for like 2 hours, food was great and service exceptional.
Leticia was excellent. Super attentive and on point. Food amazing and the Natilla is to die for. Thank you for the outstanding service
I was there on Sunday, 10-13-24 to celebrate a birthday. The place is absolutely perfect. From the music, to the crowd the to the perfect drinks. Parking is terrible so I recommend you take an UBER if you're headed there in the evening. There is one particular bartender, dark beautiful skin with short black hair who mastered multi-tasking countless drinks!! Impressive to say the least. She made me the absolute BEST Blue Long Island Iced Tea. I wrote it on the credit card receipt.... " ERES LO MAXIMO"!!
La Mesa Doral I had the pleasure of dining at La Mesa Doral, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism. The service was outstanding, thanks to the attentive and friendly staff. Leticia, our server, went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, while Dayker, the bartender, crafted amazing drinks that perfectly complemented our meal. Luis and Benito, the managers, truly know how to create an inviting and well-run dining atmosphere. The food was absolutely excellent—each dish was prepared with great attention to flavor, presentation, and quality. Every bite was a delight, showcasing the skill and dedication of the kitchen team. Beyond the service and food, the atmosphere was fantastic—a perfect blend of elegance and comfort. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing dinner or a lively evening out, La Mesa Doral delivers on all fronts. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for top-notch service, exquisite food, and an unforgettable dining experience. Five stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
La Mesa Doral is an incredible spot! The moment you walk in, you feel the vibrant Latin energy — great music, beautiful decor, and an amazing atmosphere. The food was delicious, full of flavor and perfectly presented. The drinks were just as impressive, especially the cocktails! The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything went smoothly even though the place was busy. It’s the perfect spot for dinner, drinks, and a fun night out with friends. Highly recommend La Mesa Doral for anyone who loves great food and a lively vibe!
We recently celebrated my sister’s baby shower at La Mesa and had the most amazing experience! The food was Delicious and the service was spectacular. Letty our server was beyond amazing! She didn’t skip a beat and made sure we had everything we needed and some! I highly recommend having your Next family function here because they were amazing with our group! I will definitely be back!
Hi..!! yesterday we had an excellent night!!! Great food and an amazing atmosphere!!! But the 5-star award definitely goes to YIA — the girl who took care of us! She was super attentive and charismatic, always checking on us. Her service was excellent! Hope to come back soon, and I really hope she’ll be on shift!

Very new establishment serving Latin food with cafe window. Seems to be open for breakfast to late lunch. The place is much bigger than it looks with 2 distinct sides, to the left is a casual counter & few tables set for quick bite. To the right is a nicer, wood warm decor with good size bar, beer & wine I think. Service is nice & friendly. Slim parking.
I didn't like the music, even though the singer and the band were good, but the repertoire, based on Luis Miguel and other boleros, wasn't suitable for a night of partying and fun.

First time going on Satu, 12/10/22 total of 4. We had an excellent waitress her name Elizabeth! Drinks are costly,, we had the shrimp with lobster it was good but food not too warm. The only thing I didn't like is that a service charge they claim is for the back end employees but in reality is the server actual tip. So you end up giving additional if you want. Every other restaurant I've been they've mentioned is the actual tip for your server, it's just the wording how is interpret. The manager is very serious maybe that's his personality but not for a club where there's people entering all night. He stands at the door all night, locating tables for people but never a "ENJOY", SMILE, ETC. We're so use managers passing how we are doing in other restaurants, club they do, he's missing alot of action. I read the samething in other reviews this is an excellent place by management is awful. The band and Dj are AWESOME! Kudos to them who makes people want to continue to stay all night. Bill was $536.00.
Be sure of check opcions, prices and get the ticket before you leave.
Went for matinee on Sunday for some dancing and Cuban music. Great concept for those that won’t or can’t party until 2am. 4 stars because parking was difficult
I was there last Saturday. Everything was fantastic except for the A/C , the place was full of people and th e temperature fill like 78° . This is not acceptable for a restaurant.
The place is nice, no matter what a welcome sign with a huge orthography error ( per server info it is intentional... I still do not get the joke). The food was.good.but nothing exceptional, maybe at night ( with shows) is much better
The food is good for a Cuban restaurant but the music on Sundays for the Matinee from 5 to 10 is great. Good food, great salsa, merengue, bachata, and dance music and lots of dancing!
This place is NOT in Doral; It is somewhat close, but not quite the city of Doral, FL. Place has a cool Vibe; it is a Restaurant/Lounge/Bar, depending on what time and day you go. They have special events and such. The food & Drinks are great and prices are decent, but could be a bit better. I'm giving it a 3 star in service, and 4 stars overall for the restaurant, because I have been there 3 times already and the service was good the first time around. The other 2 times, the waitress did not check up on us and we had to continuously ask for them to come to our table for service. But in the end they were pleasant, and courteous; They just need to be more speedy and attentive, specially now a days where the place does not get packed as before. Also, on our last visit, the attendant, as you walk in, instead of saying "Hello or "Welcome" firstly, he just went ahead and asked with a serious face in Spanish "Do You Have A Reservation"? Which was awkward for me and my guests. Nontheless, there's ample free parking, clean facility, good music and DJ, cool Vibe, hip, young, and modern. I recommend this place, once service gets better 👍🏽
A secret spot honestly. The building doesn't stand out in its surroundings. The cuban food was authentic as well as the service. I don't know if live music happens often but there was a band when we were there. I had one small issue with the bar not taking requests for drinks but that isnt a reason not to visit this place
Overall good experience, good food, on the salty end I must say but not too bad. The drinks were good. I only have 2 complaints, valet parking does not post the prices I was surpised to be charged $13 when i was told the valet was $10. I guess there is a credit card fee because the runner did not have change I had to use the card. Ask for the food receipt and check it, I was charged for an extra drink.
Ok so let’s start off with there is only valet parking available for $10. We went on a Saturday night and there was a $10 cover charge that is not posted anywhere as far as I could see but it’s on your bill when you go pay. So not sure if it’s charged all day or just certain days/hours. There was a 20% gratuity automatically included. Next I wanted to seat at the bar and have a drink while I waited for the rest of my party but was told by the server of our reservation table that I had to seat at the table and order from there.. Why? What if I was alone I could not seat at the bar to drink and watch the show? So I sit at my table order my drink and the wrong drink is brought so I returned it. The food was good and the music was good. There’s no free glass of water of any kind provided. Now end of the night I go to valet stand hand the attendant my slip and he proceeds to say “how much tip are you leaving me?” What? Very unprofessional and the thing is my car is next to the valet stand so he didn’t have to go get my car. Needless to say probably won’t be back anytime soon or at all.
The place is nice to have fun and dance, but needs some improvement on the food they serve. I will try another plates next time. Recommendation: adjust your menu names to reflect exactly what you are offering.
Let me start by saying this restaurant is more like a disco place. Loud music high top tables. The staff is not friendly at all. Our waiter took a long time to come to the table to take our order, never mention is name and was only interesting in what we were going to order from the bar. I ordered Calientica it was good, strong and nice flavor. The food was good. Miami cachapa was frozen in the middle but the shrimps was delicious. My husband order the churrasco with double mash potatoes. Churrasco had a good size portion, the mash potatoes was made with real potatoes, a little too salty with a strong garlic flavor. The dessert came to their rescue. Delicious pastelitos bread pudding and a very creamy ice cream. Best of luck.
For those wanting to experience a club vibe, this is the place. The food does something to be desired. Flavor was okay, and the food came out cold. Also employees standing falling asleep in view of customers, not a good look. Place has potential, but management needs to work on it.

Valet parking is obligated. There is no parking space available. Even the spaces from the public store are part of valet parking (as per the employees of the valet parking company). I am not sure about it, but what can you do. The food is ok. Do not order the "Tabla de la Mesa" is you are thinking is a nice plate with cheese and more, because it is not. The rest, it is ok. It is a place to eat and dance with latin music.Oh, the quality of the drinks dependson the bartender. Do not orderthe dnrink called Old Fashion. It is really bad.
My intention was to have a relaxed and quiet lunch. However, they play music at a high volume that does not allow for a conversation. It disturbs the harmony that there should be during a meal. As a night club it's fine. But not for lunch. I left scared by the music. Atmosphere 1 star, food 4 stars average 3 stars
Cuban place. Prices are expensive Nice music even though they repeat the songs several times. Pastery were tasty but to small portion. Liave band good. Valet parking is mandatory.
Each person in our party was charged a $20 cover for entertainment, which felt excessive and not clearly justified as the performance did not seem to align with such a high price. Furthermore, a mandatory 20% tip was added to our bills, which, considering the level of service provided, felt unmerited and forced. Overall, La Mesa failed to deliver a dining experience that could justify its prices or the automatic gratuities. For those looking for a smooth and enjoyable dining experience, you might want to consider other options where the service and charges are more balanced and deserving.
A typical Miami customer service experience for a takeout order. I placed an online order and went to pick it up, only to find out they didn’t have what I ordered. They blamed "Uber," though I’m unsure what Uber had to do with it since I placed the order directly through their site. I didn’t receive my order and was only offered a substitution of meatballs or palomilla. What’s worse, they didn’t bother to call me beforehand to confirm if I wanted a substitute for the lamb I had ordered. Instead, I was left with the option to either wait indefinitely for palomilla or settle for the meatballs, which frankly weren't worth it to me.
Food was good. The paella was excellent, the tuna tartare was just ok. They put a sweet sauce that didn’t go with the tuna and was lacking taste. We asked for 2 bottles of a Cabernet from CA that was very good and when we asked for the 3rd bottle they said they didn’t have it anymore and they brought us a wine from Spain that tasted horrible. They forgot to bring the sides for the paella. By the end of the night we asked and then they brought them. The musical group was not that good, the recorded music was much better. They don’t really have an area to dance, you have to dance by the tables.
It was a party place, very loud. There were two birthday parties going on, and it was loud enough that we couldn't have conversations. Wasn't really to my liking. I prefer more casual eating places. The food was okay, expensive, but the servings were large enough to share. So if you go in knowing that, share your meal.
06/29/2023 I was told about this restaurant with live music during the weekends, big restaurant location special for any celebration. Service was acceptable, but some details I saw that really sorprice me not for good. The principal things brought to my attention are the overcost on any meal of the menu. In my consideration, I'll not give a second try to this spot.
I was extremely disappointed with the performance by BAMBOLEO. This was, by far, the worst band I’ve ever seen! For a $30 ticket, I expected much more, especially given the venue's history of hosting talented artists. The music was chaotic, and it felt more like they were screaming than singing. Many people in the audience left early, which speaks volumes about the quality of their performance. It was a complete waste of money for me. I can't understand how they are performing in a nice venue where more skilled musicians have played in the past. I would not recommend this band to anyone. My husband is a teacher musian we know what we are talking about .

The food was not bad , the service wasn’t too bad either up to the problem came over , when they tried to over bill the whole table , we were 14 persons in total and every single one of us had an over bill , we claim to move all the extra items from the bill and it came with some others add it , we kicked it back again and they move the extra items but the total amount kept the same , I remembered my times in cuba when wherever you go you had to paid fines on your bill , also if you go to the bathrooms you had to pay the service , exactly like in communism country , I do not recommend this place
There was a homeless in front, the DJ was average nothing special to pay the $32 dine in fee for a restaurant next to cement truck station and Wendy's. I will not be back. The mimosas were the only thing that gave this 2 stars.
This place has a really nice vibe, live music, pretty ambiance, and good food. However it is EXTREMELY overpriced and they try to get you to pay more for absolutely everything. They won’t serve you water in a glass, you have to purchase water every time you want water. The appetizers are reasonably priced but the rest of the plates (cuban dishes) are 30$ and reaching as high as $100, for regular cuban dishes- nothing fancy. There’s no reason a ropa vieja or a chicken should cost that much. They also add a 20% service charge that according to the server, does not include tip. And let me not forget, you have to also pay $10 for valet. All the overcharges are a shame because not everyone can go to dinner often and spend 300$ for normal food. OH AND they charged us on our food bill a cover per person…. Which they don’t tell you about. All of these sneaky ways is how they get your bill to skyrocket. Ps. Check out yelp for honest reviews. When you go in, they ask you to put a positive google review (you get a free champagne bottle).
This place is lame. The atmosphere is cool, but the food is way overpriced and there's almost nothing on the menu to eat. Also, the staff is kinda average.....
I had high hopes for La Mesa in Miami, but unfortunately, my experience left me quite disappointed. While the ambiance was undeniably stunning, vibrant, lively, and perfect for a night out but the food and service fell flat, especially considering the price point. Let’s start with the appetizers. I ordered the “Table for the Table,” which was a $42 platter. For that price, I expected something special a spread that would showcase their best offerings. Unfortunately, it was far from impressive. The selection was average at best, lacking creativity, and certainly didn’t justify the steep cost. It felt like they simply arranged some basic items on a plate and charged a premium for it. Moving on to the entrée – it looked absolutely beautiful in the pictures, and I was excited to try it. But when it arrived, it was a complete letdown. The flavors were bland, lacking the depth and seasoning you’d expect from a place with such a vibrant atmosphere. It was a dish that promised so much but delivered so little. To top it all off, they charge an entry fee – something I wasn’t even aware of until it was added to the bill. I assume this was for the entertainment, but given how underwhelming the food and service were, it felt more like a hidden cost than a justified expense. In summary, while La Mesa nails the ambiance with its stunning décor and lively vibe, the food is overpriced, especially the appetizers, and the quality simply doesn’t match the price tag. The entrée was flavorless, and the service didn’t make up for it. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be returning.
I was in this place yesterday arriving in Miami fleeing the intense cold, I followed the recommendation of Google live music and good food at first I was perfect and close to the airport. The wine was horrible, bitter, the food mediocre, I think a sandwich from the neighboring Wendy's would have been exquisite, the music was better but it did not meet expectations. And the best thing when you ask for the bill they charge you before giving you a detailed receipt of what you consume. By the way, for being Miami I expected the charges included and of course additional tip

FYI - I would like to make it clear that 5 of the first 8 good reviews Cafe Kabana has on google are from their employees. - I have been waiting 2 years plus for this place to open up. My daughter went in for the first time to pick up lunch for us and she was blatantly IGNORED BY EVERY SINGLE STAFF MEMBER there. My daughter walked in and said hello with a smile on her face, only to receive mere silence. She stood up inside right in front of the counter for about 5 minutes; she was never acknowledged, no eye contact was made with her, and the only one who did, walked away without saying a word to her. Menus were passed to other people around her, while she was still there; standing up to get someone to acknowledge her. Mind you, I spoke with the owner about 3 times to let him know how anxious I was to finally see them open the doors... and all that for nothing. I will continue going to Wendy's for lunch. With me you have lost a multitude of customers. If I had a choice, I would have not even click on one single star... Cafe Kabana does not deserve any at this point. I just hope their attitude towards their customers gets to change SOON. First impressions are prime, and they failed on this one.
Very unprofessional and arrogant staff. I made a reservation through Open Table and upon arriving they said the restaurant was closed for a private event. I had no issues with that, my problem was when the manager said it was impossible that I had a reservation, basically called me a liar. I showed him the Open Table confirmation and he just said he would call them to update their information. Very rude and arrogant demeanor, not even an apology for basically calling me a liar. 0 stars given if possible!
Our recent visit to La Mesa was with issues that made for a less-than-enjoyable evening. From the moment we walked in, the service lagged considerably. It took an unusually long time to receive our drinks and even longer for our food to arrive, testing our patience on a night out meant for relaxation and enjoyment. Adding to the frustration were the costs associated with dining here.
Not a good experience. At first it seemed they were accommodating us but turns out it was just to make money. In the end they basically kicked us out by bringing over the check without even asking for it while i was still consuming drinks because all the tables had been reserved already. We were told we could stay and pay the entrance to listen to the music and it wasn't like that. Plus they charged a 20% dine in service fee. Are you kidding me! That's not including the tip. Also the tables were very small and the chairs so tiny and uncomfortable. The waitresses were all gathered near our table all talking loudly and gossiping all the time we were there. Very uncomfortable situation and absolutely do not recommend this place.
Worse place you can think of no parking fpe customers only valet fpr $10 cover charge always ,worse servers and at the end even ask you for the tip, when they dont deserve it, I had to wait foe a water for my drink they never bothered to take my order of food no way I would go back, and over priced
Absolutely terrible experience. Food is ok. But really it started when we got there with a super cold greeting then the manager happened to walk by and I asked him about the band, super rude. I asked for a table and he said I could just go to the bar. Went to the bar with two big TVs and asked about the Copa America game and I was told rudely to talk to the manager. Mind you this is the same manager that was rude to already. Tried to flag him down, he would look right past us. He absolutely saw us you could see his eyes stop look at us and act like he didn’t see us. Avoid this place unless you like to be mistreated. I would recommend Chabella down the street. Better service, great food.
NEGATIVE reviews are CORRECT, the food was so so, I asked for water in 3 occasions and never get it, the attention from waitress awful. And what to say about Valet parking, I told them to charge an amount and then overcharged with 4 more dollars, I realized when saw my bank account. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM.
Where do I start? My friends and I came here on spring break for brunch. A nice, relaxing brunch is what I had in mind. First, we roll up, and some guy starts talking to us in Spanish. He did not seem to speak English, like at all. Apparently, we had to pay for parking. Which we did. Anyway, when we got inside, this place was turnt. Like, it's a Sunday morning/early afternoon... why are you guys so lit already? The music was blaring, the DJ was doing his thing... there were like 15 customers in there, spread across 4 tables. They were probably at 1/4 capacity. Why the club atmosphere? They charged me $3 for fake Italian water. It had a picture of Italy on the front, and said Florida on the back. I wouldn't have been mad if it were just fake Italian water, but they charged me $3 for it. Most restaurants, when you ask for "water," give it for free. But no, not this place. My food (chicken and waffles) came out about 15-20 minutes after all my friends got their food. Once I got my food, the portion looked small for the price. But whatever, it looked tasty. Then I bit into it... I swear, their chicken is identical to Jimmy Dean microwavable frozen chicken. Then they have the gall to bring out a check with mandatory gratuity. So, in summary, I spend $23 (not including parking) so I could wait ages for a Jimmy Dean frozen chicken patty whilst my ears rang from the obnoxious club music. My friends liked it much more than I did. One of which ordered a few beers, another had bottomless mimosas. I'd imagine that their enjoyment was directly related to their intoxication.
servers are extremely rude and unprofessional, chewing gum while taking your order. everyone in my party got their food at completely different time and absolutely no one ate at the same time. server tried charging an extra $5 for bottomless mimosas when it’s displayed everywhere as $25. They tried to charge me an extra $10 when the bill was supposed to be $33 and the server said it was for “taxes” when i knew it wasn’t true. She started catching an attitude and telling me to relax when i was completely calm. the manager came and fixed the recipe. also forgot to mention she was about to charge me for an $85 bill that wasn’t mine. Food was extremely bland i thought i caught covid by how bland it was. would never recommend and i wish i could give 0 stars.
The chairs are not comfortable, we had to change the cocktails 2-3 because they don’t have alcohol. Menu do not mention it will be 20% service charge, if you didn’t check the bill they will not mention it. Their is another extra fee 10-15$ for each person to cover the music band, it was not mention at all. Even all that they will still ask for extra tip. The appetizer was ok but the meat was horrible. I respect the hustle but bring value
terrible experience, order 2 drinks and 1 toston relleno with appetizer and pay $68 dollars plus 20% plus tips plus valet parking this plase is a joke; And let's not talk about the sound, whoever designed the audio for the place has no experience, anyway, thank you, whether the experience is bad or not.
Absolutely Avoid: A Disappointing and Deceitful Experience My recent visit to La Mesa was, without a doubt, one of the most frustrating and overpriced dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this establishment prioritizes extracting money over providing a quality experience. First, let's talk about the parking scam. They advertise "free parking," but upon arrival, you're immediately strong-armed into using their mandatory valet service, effectively conning you out of the supposed free space. This deceptive practice is a huge red flag right off the bat. Inside, the bizarre and uncomfortable tactics continued. In the restroom, there was an individual blocking access to the regular soap and paper towels, instead dispensing them themselves and then overtly demanding tips. This isn't a service; it's an invasive shakedown that makes a simple trip to the restroom feel like a negotiation. The "entertainment" was equally disappointing. We were hit with a $20 per person show charge for a performance that was anything but entertaining. The "funny guys" were completely unfunny, delivering stale jokes that fell flat. It felt like a forced expense for zero enjoyment. And then there's the food and drink. The portions were ridiculously small for the astronomical prices. We paid an exorbitant amount for what amounted to little more than appetizers. To top it off, a single bottle of vodka was an outrageous $300! This level of price gouging is simply unacceptable. In summary, La Mesa is a masterclass in how to alienate customers. Between the deceptive parking, the uncomfortable restroom attendants, the uninspired and overpriced "show," and the minuscule, overpriced food and drinks, there's absolutely nothing redeeming about this place. Save your money and your sanity – go somewhere else.
Posting this as I sit here without getting any service. I came here taking a little detour to hopefully have a cocktail. When i came inside the restaurant i figured i’d grab a seat at the bar, oops, they don’t have any chairs at the bar. I then went to one of the servers asking if I could get a table but i just wanted to have a drink. She said they couldn’t sit me at a table because it was just me… okay? Strange as the place wasn’t necessarily busy, i asked about a little high top table and she said i couldn’t sit there either. Interesting. She then told me that i could take a sit by some couches if it was just me. I didn’t really want to but i did. And here i am some 20 mins later no one has approached me, even though they told me to come here if i wanted to order something by myself. In short i didn’t get my drink and i’m walking out as we speak, terrible service. They don’t know hospitality.
I’ve always enjoyed my visits to La Mesa Doral usually for birthdays with friends and those experiences have been fantastic. That’s why I decided to bring my family here for Mother’s Day and even made a reservation months in advance to ensure everything would go smoothly.Unfortunately, this time was a major disappointment. No one attended to us for a full hour after being seated. When a waitress finally came over, we asked for mimosas for the table something we’d seen others enjoying but she told us they were out of stock. Minutes later, I saw another server preparing mimosas for a different table right next to us. Spending over $400 on a celebration that felt ignored and undervalued was incredibly frustrating. It’s unfortunate that what should have been a special day turned into such a poor experience. I hope management takes these issues seriously so other guests don’t go through the same.
Group of us went. Valet guy caught an attitude because we left “early” and didn’t tip him $5. Went as far as to saying that people like us needed to get shot for doing things like that.
We went there to share with some friends and the “standup comedy” wasn’t funny at all. Pretty saggy. No attentions from the servers and we decided to leave. They ending charging us $37.50 for only 2 drinks previously ordered (a beer and a calle 8). Not recommended.
Review for La Mesa – Friday Night Visit I had a very disappointing experience at La Mesa this past Friday night. To begin with, the cover charge was $20 per person, plus an additional $10 for valet—so before even stepping inside, you’re down $50 per couple. For a restaurant (not a nightclub), this pricing is excessive, especially given what followed. The service was extremely poor. Our server was clearly inexperienced and took an unreasonable amount of time for basic tasks. The bartender also seemed untrained; my drink was nearly undrinkable. The drinks overall were badly made, and certainly not worth the prices charged. To make things worse, a service fee was automatically added to the bill—which I found completely unjustified considering how terrible the service was. The food was average at best, nowhere near the level you’d expect given the high prices and pretentious presentation. For the area, this kind of pricing and service level is unacceptable. As someone who works in the hospitality industry. I was honestly embarrassed on their behalf. Charging people $20 to walk into a restaurant only to receive subpar service, bad drinks, and mediocre food is outrageous. I would not recommend La Mesa to anyone looking for good service, good drinks, or a good overall experience. There are far better places in the area that actually value their guests.
The concert ticket said it will start at 7PM, it didn't start until 11AM, the valet representative bullied everyone to pay valet even there was ample parking, la experiencia fue horrible, no les aconsejo visitar.
