Open Kitchen is a casual bistro style restaurant in Bay Harbor Islands serving delicious meals, breakfast through dinner. The dinner menu changes weekly and offers pasta, meats, fish and vegan options. The owner is a charming woman who is frequently there. They have a variety of wines, our favorite being a wonderful Vermentino. Highly recommend.

Delicious healthy vegetarian lunch with Lentil soup, spinach empanadas, and falafel wrap. Every was beautifully prepared and tasty. The falafel was cooked and seasoned just right and not greasy. We sat outside under the awning and the service was spectacular. There's a wonderful culture happening here and paper straws to boot! Support these lovely people!

This is my all time favorite hidden gem restaurant! It is a small very cozy and casual space with inside and outside seating. It is located behind Kane Concourse in a very little strip mall. It is literally right in the heart of a neighborhood. The food is consistently good and the staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to accommadate you. They are open during the week for lunch and only once a week on Thursdays for dinner. If you get on their email list, every Thursday they will send you the menu for that night. I love everything about this cool, low key, cozy little restaurant!

Amazing offerings no matter what you are in the mood for. I have yet to order anything from this delightful small restaurant and be disappointed.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick bite the other night. We immediately noticed a difference compared to other establishments as Ines, the proprietor, was extremely inviting and gracious. The food and drink menu were extensive. The desserts were obviously home made. We are so glad we came upon this gem. We will surely be back.

Neighborhood gem and worth the drive to bay harbor. Great food and service! My go to spot Thursday nights when they serve dinner. The available wines are matched to the food choices, and they are reasonably priced. Service is also great.

I love this quaint place. My go to is their chicken BLT wrap. Their daily specials are always a good idea for $12 ! The ladies here are always so friendly.

This place is a gem. Delicious food, everything is freshly made by one of Miami’s most authentic and talented Italian chefs (I used to LOVE her former restaurant as well). Try the amazing soups! I even had them cater one of my events and it was perfection.

Lunch is ALWAYS GREAT at Open Kitchen. But on Thursday nights they are open for dinner 6:30p.m.-9:30p.m. AMAZING!!! Ines the owner is there cooking.Everything was delicious!

This is my go to neighborhood spot! The daily lunch special is always delicious and affordable at 10 bucks! They open for dinner once a week and highly recommend it, the chef always cooks a high end cuisine for dinner night & it never fails! Services is great! I came down to Bay Harbor for work for a few weeks. Out of every place in the area, Open Kitchen has the best food, period! I had the Mahi and grilled veggies a couple of times and it was probably the best piece of fish I've ever had in my life. I tried the Greek hotdog one day, was amazing. And I love their different lemonades they have every day. Service is exceptional as well. This place is truly a hidden gem in the neighborhood.

What a nice hidden Gem, off the beaten path. Wonderful food, great personal service and a relaxed atmosphere. My Wife had been holding out on me until today when she shared this quaint spot. Very reasonable prices and I will definitely return. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a reason why they have been around for fourteen years.

Great little place in Bay Harbor off the main road. Food is always good. They have a daily special and service is wonderful. Only issue is that it is small and seating is tight. Both indoor and outdoor seating but limited. Coffee is good also.

Had the fish of the day and a burger. Everyone was nice. Food was good, and very close to the hotel. Really liked the fish of the day.

Lovely little place if you're looking for an easy, nice quality sandwich (on warm French roll) or salad with a strong cup of European coffee. Just know that a small cup of coffee means an expresso, large a machiato. Most seating is on their outdoor covered long porch/walkway to a couple of small neighboring storefronts. Prices are reasonable. Drawback is close proximity to a school, because, when let out, the kids swarm to the next door mini-grocery and like to congregate near those eating 'til shoo-ed away for their numbers, not their behavior.

2/3 meals were burnt but the place has a lot of potential. They cater to your needs and have a great atmosphere. If the chef can fix the burnt issue this place would be perfect.

Ordered a burger & Snapper. Everything was good. Service was great.

We had breakfast at this wonderful café and really enjoyed it. However, we were shocked when we ordered an extra egg to go with our main dish, which already included two eggs, fish, tomatoes, bread, cream cheese, capers, and onions—all for $21. Imagine our surprise when the bill arrived, and the total was $28 just for adding one extra egg. When we asked if a single egg could really cost an additional $7, they confirmed that it did. We were absolutely shocked. Thank you, the food was delicious, but we won’t be coming back.

This was our first meal since arriving in Miami. Having read previous reviews, we decided to walk the short distance to Open Kitchen. The meal did not disappoint. We both had the cheeseburger.

I asked for no lettuce, tomatoes, or onions on my burger, but it came with all of it. After scraping all of that off, the burger was really good. Would have been 5 stars if it was prepared as ordered.

So disappointing. I came here pre-covid and loved this place. This time, I ordered the chicken palliard with kale and roasted sweet potatoes. The chicken tasted like it was taken from the freezer. It had a strange texture and was extremely salty. The kale was also salty and most of it was burnt and unedible. The sweet potatoes were decent; however, some pieces were burnt and they tasted like they were cooked the day before and just heated up. When the waitress asked how was the food, I told her it was very salty and that most of the kale was burned. She apologized shyly and walked away. Come bill time, the restaurant didn't offer a discount or even a free coffee to compensate. My plate was prepared with zero love. It was like cafeteria food, pre-made, heated up and thrown on a plate. Not even a garnish for looks. The best part about lunch was the pineapple lemonade. That was super tasty. My advice to management is to put a little love in it!

Overpriced

Four of my friends and I went into this establishment because we wanted a nice dinner. We were extremely polite and understanding throughout the entire interaction. Once I walked in to ask about seating, mind you, I made sure I wasn’t in anyone’s way, she gestured for us to get out of the establishment without using her words like the adult she is. She looked to be the manager but definitely didn’t behave like one. Once we left the indoor area (politely and immediately), we asked about seating again, and she ignored us and chose to speak to her employee. Instead, she said to us, “Are you sure you guys went to the right place? Did you check our menu and do you know what food we serve? Are you sure you didn’t mean to go to the pizza place next door?” I was absolutely appalled by their horrible customer service and by how backhanded that comment was. After this, she asked if two of us had tops. I understand that two of the five of us were wearing beach outfits, but we did, in fact, have tops we could put on (we voiced this), and we did later on. The fact that she didn’t mention the “dress code” before trying to redirect us and question whether we came to the right place was astonishing. It was an outdoor seating area near Surfside, so I did not expect such a rude reaction. Maybe she owned the pizza place next door and wanted more traffic, but that was not a professional way to handle things. I don’t know if it was a race issue because we were Asian and Hispanic, or if it was because we were teenagers, but her behavior was outrageous. Still, because we are kind and respectful people, we told her we understood and that it was alright, we could find somewhere else to eat. We then left respectfully. If you don’t want your wonderful evening ruined by entitled staff, you should support the pizza place next door with way better service. They also have amazing spicy extra virgin olive oil.

Absolutely horrible customer service. I came here on my break and both the kitchen chefs where sitting enjoying their break and the sign said open. This is not how a business should be run especially since I literally waited 15 minutes because they said they would be done by then and they weren’t. Waste of my time.

Place was awful. The lady didn’t know how to handle more than 3 customers at once. I ordered eggs and it came an hour later. Customer service is awful. Such a shame because it looks like they have good food the lady who made my eggs didn’t even know how to make a proper egg. I asked for avocado and she gave me tomatoes instead

Such a shame I got my food for delivery. My steak was burnt on one side completely, obviously hidden by flipping it over. Complelty inedible. Call the restaurant the lady can't talk to me broken English.

Sandwich had very little meat, and the roasted potatoes were extremely salty, soggy and burnt. My wife also was very disappointed in her meal. No effort was made by the staff to make it better. It was one of the worse meals I ever had and not affordable either. We ate the food simply because we were in a hurry and starving. Got a headache for the amount of sodium I ingested in one meal. This place used to be good back in the day (20187-19) but it went downhill real fast not sure if management changed. I had the impression that the food was precooked and then thrown on a hot grill just to warm up...Never again.
