We made last minute reservation yesterday for 8 people. Over all for thanksgiving night with limited help they were good. Starting about service; was ok For thanksgiving night Food ; best parts; Octopus was amazing Mushroom truffle dumplings were amazing Shishito peppers and sauce was amazing. Unfortunately!!!! ::((( for sushi plates I can not say same thing I don’t want go detail and say what was it wrong with sushi, just they have to work on that. And the last atmosphere; Without laud, low profile music I can say amazing, please reconsider your music choices
I've been wanting to go for a while but hadn't had the chance and I don't regret it. There's a great atmosphere, all the decor had a Halloween theme, the food was great and the service was also very good, the drinks were spectacular.
We had such a great experience! The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. Everything came out quickly and was beautifully prepared. A special thanks to Agusto for the outstanding service — very professional, attentive, and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Salvaje is one of those underrated gems that becomes a true last-minute night saver. Last night, my friend was visiting from out of town, and I had a reservation at Gekko for the four of us. Things went sideways (more on that in my Gekko review), and at 11:15 PM I suddenly needed to find a place to eat. Salvaje came to mind right away. I called, asked if they could possibly fit in a last-minute table for four, and the hostess kindly said yes. We rushed over. Even though it was the end of the night, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth—and even switched effortlessly to Spanish, which made the communication so much easier. The food was outstanding. The menu is three pages long and focused on Japanese cuisine, a safe heaven for sushi lovers. The drinks were not only delicious but beautifully creative, and the tres leches dessert vanished from our table so quickly I didn’t even get a chance to snap a quick photo. In Miami’s dining scene, where bills often skyrocket, here you get exceptional food and service at a far more reasonable cost. Add to that the exotic décor, the fresh air, and the fine views. This place saved my night and I couldn’t be more grateful.
We absolutely loved this place — definitely a 10/10. The food is exquisite, the service is excellent, and the staff is incredibly attentive. The atmosphere is very pleasant, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal in a comfortable and welcoming setting. We’ll definitely be coming back!
I believe this is the best deal in Miami for brunch…. The brunch menu offers a wide variety of options, food and drinks and everything we tried was delicious. I especially loved the creative twists on classic dishes.. the drinks are huge and delicious. If you go ask for Stefania she was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations. Truly great service! The view of the midtown was beautiful and the music was on fire.. Super Recommend
Such a great place to have a cute date night or something casual with friends, hubby and I went by a friends recommendation and we enjoyed every minute there. Had a few of appetizers and meal and it was delicious but the drinks are the star of the show for sure.
A Culinary Gem in Miami – Salvaje Salvaje Miami was an unexpected discovery through a blog, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the recommendation. This rooftop Japanese restaurant is an experience in itself, combining exquisite cuisine, live music, and an electric ambiance that sets the stage for an unforgettable evening. From the very first bite, it was clear that Salvaje takes culinary artistry to another level. The miso soup was hands down the best I’ve ever had, presented beautifully and packed with deep, comforting flavors. My vegetarian noodles were nothing short of spectacular—perfectly balanced, rich, and satisfying. Meanwhile, my partner enjoyed an equally impressive non-vegetarian meal, featuring flawless bao buns. To end on a sweet note, the chocolate mousse was a revelation—silky soft yet perfectly structured, holding its shape until the moment my spoon glided through it. Beyond the food, the service was impeccable, with our server offering thoughtful recommendations that elevated our experience. The atmosphere—vibrant yet sophisticated—made it all the more memorable. If we had more time in Miami, we would have returned in a heartbeat. But one thing is certain—Salvaje Miami is now a must-visit for us whenever we’re back in town. ⭐ 5/5 – A Vibe, A Feast, An Unmissable Experience! ⭐
110% on the aesthetics of this place from glasses the drinks come in too the decor and the furry chairs. Service is quick and the waiters were very attentive. If you feel chilly while there request a blanket and they will bring one. Try the lobster dumplings you wouldn’t be disappointed.
German is amazing! So nice. Rooftop bar tucked away in midtown with great Japanese fusion. Good views and great service. First time. Inside the Hyde hotel where a lot of folks are here for work. Hidden gem! Will come back
Salvaje Miami is a trendy Japanese fusion spot on the rooftop of Hyde Midtown. Known for its stunning city views, vibrant vibe, and creative dishes like truffled dumplings and Wagyu fried rice, it’s perfect for a stylish night out. Cocktails are bold, and the Sunday “WILD BRUNCH” is a local favorite. Great ambiance, with good service - def a fun night out!
I’m a returning client and will definitely be coming back. Personal likes: - tuna tartare (comes in 2 pieces, super fresh and delicious) I’d re-order if we haven’t ordered “half of the menu” - rainbow roll - skirt steak - sea bass and of course DRINKS are amazing: well crafted special drinks presented in interesting glassware. The place has bar to sit, music to enjoy and great view for sunset, the also offer hookah Excellent place to go meet with friend or to talk business
What an amazing dining experience, aesthetics are very nice! All the way from the start, the lobby gives you Tulum vibes... when you go into the patio (the have outdoor and indoor dining), they have this beautiful decoration that makes you feel like you’re not even in Miami, like you’re in paradise... and the presentation for food and drinks is impeccable and very creative, not to mention the flavor, which is out of this world! Service was okay, nonetheless the server did try his best to make our experience the best possible.
Best edamame I've ever had and some of the best sushi and flavors I've had in Miami. Cool decor and great rooftop view!
Great dinner spot with amazing views. The menu had such tasty options, highly recommend the Spicy Salmon Roll, Spicy Edamame and Duck Fried Rice - super delicious and worth every bite! Cocktail drinks are made strong and served creatively.
Salvaje Miami is truly an exceptional dining experience. From the moment we arrived, the quality of service was impeccable. The hosts and waitresses, especially Sarah, went above and beyond, providing outstanding customer service that made our visit even more special. The food was nothing short of superb, with every dish delighting our senses and exceeding our expectations. We chose Salvaje Miami to celebrate a significant family milestone, and it was the perfect choice. Everyone in our party, including my mother, had a blast. It’s clear that Salvaje Miami takes great pride in offering an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommend!
This place is really good! I went for my anniversary and the waitress was really good. Sushis are delicious Drinks are amazing Views spectacular Location is a must! ASK FOR THE DUMPLINGS 🥟 🔥 Will defense recommend to go at night. Price is really good for location and food. I will definitely come back.
Absolutely the best dining view in Miami! This was an extremely special experience! We were seated at an end table closest to the window overlooking the city. The atmosphere in here is warm and inviting. The dance show was really fun. It’s a real treat to order drinks and get such amazing out of this world decorations. The food was tasty and fresh but the drink menu was the most memorable! This is definitely my top 10 best dining experiences in Miami.
My friend and I dined here for sunset hour! I didn’t get try to the dishes but we had amazing drinks. During the week they have sunset hour between 6pm-8pm $10 drinks which you can’t beat. I got the pornstar martini and it was so good. With the view of the sunset in the background and the aesthetics make it amazing. I would like to come back for the brunch as I only got to experience this in Panama and it was amazing! Give this place a try!
Amazing!!! Food, drinks, atmosphere, service, music 5/5 stars. It started a little bit hesitatingly because we had a reservation and they didn’t have the table ready for us, but the hostesses were very apologetic and serviceful. Every single plate that we ordered was fantastic, especially the dinamite rolls with the truffle butter. The drinks were also very fun as they were served in exotic cups with edible flowers. The DJ was very hype and his music made the entire place light up. Great place and I definitely recommend if you want to get a taste of Miami in its purest form.
Everything we ordered was delicious. My favorite was the lobster dumplings! Will definitely be back.
Amazing!! Probably the best brunch deal in Miami! The service was impeccable. Our amazing server Estefany was just a joy. She guided us through the entire menu and her attention to detail was perfect! Thank you Estefany! YOU WANT THIS BRUNCH TRUST ME!!
Hello!!! Visiting for the first time with my mom and a friend, we had a nice and lovely tuesday night dinner at the bar served by rockstar marco. We ordered four different kinds of sushi, just great!!! My mom had grilled octopus with avocado which were also fantastic For drinks sparkling water, prosecco, and spicy margarita. See yall soon salvajes!!!
Salvaje screams Miami chic. Rooftop, sexy people, music, dancers and drinks!! We did brunch here before and returned for dinner on this occasion to celebrate a birthday. However, I was disappointed that all we got was a happy birthday greetings from our hostess when seated and nothing was done when our dessert was served even though I made a special request with my reservation. On the bright side, the food was delicious. ✅ Cocktails ✅ Great atmosphere ✅ Reservations recommended
Wow I loved this place. It is so beautiful and the vibe is great, the waitresses are super sweet and always try to help you find you the best option, they are super knowledgeable. The cocktails are just on point very well done, although pricey but I’ll say worth the price. The food is undeniably delicious and well presented. The dancers are so nice and fun. I will definitely come back.
This location is awesome with a great view. Very nice ambience and the people are very hospitable. Nico was awesome and serviced us the best vodka & strawberry shots. Henry has a wonderful personality & made excellent brunch suggestions and the food was perfectly cooked and tasty. THANK YoU guys !!! We will be back
Augusto is the best! Really great service. Amazing atmosphere for birthday.
If you enjoy food, yummy drinks and an amazing view of the skyline, this rooftop restaurant is for you. The prices are not the most economic, but it is Miami and they are comparable to what you will find elsewhere. We had the rock shrimp, which was excellent and crispy, the truffle dumplings were delicious, but the highlight of the night was the steak. It was perfectly cooked, juicy and balanced. I’m not too much into heavy sauce and I have to say the appetizers had a bit too much for my palate, but that’s just a personal preference. The flavor was there! The drinks were fantastic!!! I could go just for the cocktails and the view.
We had a great experience. The ambience at the restaurant/rooftop bar was great. I really liked the drinks - all of them served in unique custom glasses (or bowls)! Also, worth mentioning that drinks are delicious, quite big and quite strong (i.e. you don’t pay $25 for a cup of watered down drink). There are dancers coming on both sides of the bar every hour or so, which is very entertaining. All staff is wearing beautiful custom leopard uniforms and is very professional. The place has bar, tables, cabanas, a lot of plants that make you feel like in a little jungle. The food was enjoyable as well.
The most beautiful place to view the sunset in Miami! After hearing from friends and reading reviews I was a bit apprehensive about following through with my reservation, but I am so glad that I did not let that deter me!! Customer service was great. The gentlemen there opened every door and they also gave us great seats on the far side with the best view. I only had a couple of appetizers and drinks, but everything was great! I especially liked the Japanese tacos! The atmosphere is beautiful, even without the view. I would go again in a heartbeat!
A truly amazing experience and service. The food is superb. We ordered the truffle dumplings and fried rice, along side other dishes. The salmon sashimi was son fresh you could still *smell the saltwater*
Great vibe at this rooftop restaurant. Fabio took excellent care of us and made great food and drink recommendations (order the porn star!). We loved the sushi, especially the Salvaje roll and rainbow rolls. It’s a great time of year to dine outside in Miami and we loved our night out here!
Food was amazing. Everything we ordered on the menu was delicious. The lobster dumplings were beyond. The cocktails were strong and delicious. Service was fairly quick. Staff was friendly and helpful. Located on top of the Hyde park hotel and overlooks downtown Miami. For brunch they have dancers come out and they play good music as well. Would highly recommend
If you’re looking for a rooftop in Midtown Miami, this is a good option. You should not have trouble getting seated or just sitting by the bar. On the weekends they have a brunch with a DJ.
I'm going i said the 1st time I had a bad experience but in the 2nd time everything was amazing. Service was perfect in both times. Luis did great on our service.. thank you.. I recommend the sushito peppers and Manhattan drink are amazing to share until you get some sushi pairing with the smoked passion fruit margarita. The macha cake was amazing 100% recommend to try it.
This place used to be my top favorite for evening happy hour foods and drinks. The last time I was very disappointed by the quality of the sushi. Fish was definitely not fresh this time. They made the sushi with bare hands, no gloves and no hygiene whatsoever. When we talked about it they wore the gloves. I hope next time it’s not like this so I can change this review into the one I would have put in the past. Overall, I still recommend you come and try this place as it would be a nice experience.
The food was very good! We got a few of the share plates and the Fujiroll (Yumm). The drink “Be Wild” was spectacular, I would order it again. Service was okay, we had to wait a long time to be seated because the host was doing 100 things at the same time. However, our waiter was very attentive (I did feel forced to leave extra tip even though it was included). The show was no great. I understand we went on a Monday but there were only two girls dancing (not great, sorry).
Do pick Salvaje for your Miami rooftop Japanese restaurant experience! You won't regret it. The ambiance is on the exotic side with fabulous decor as you enter. There is so much to look at all around you. Many photo ops are available. We were seated in the middle of the rooftop and still were able to enjoy the view of Midtown. Our server was Camilo, and he took good care of us. He knew the menu well and made good recommendations to us. We each ordered the skirt steak with potato and salad, and it was brought to us on a personal grill. We loved it. The avocado slices were delicious, too. For drinks, we tried the Sea of Love ($22) and the Colada Salvaje ($22). Both were excellent! As other reviewers have mentioned, we also felt uncomfortable by the Salvaje rule or tradition, that we needed to leave within and hour and a half of being served dinner to make room for the next dining guests. You weren't exactly pushed out, but there were hints to that effect. The more guests, the more money made each day. We have never experienced this type of behavior at a Miami restaurant. Therefore, I had to deduct one star. There is valet parking as well as street parking. Wheelchair accessible entrance.
This restaurant originated in my parents hometown of Panama City, and I was curious to try the Miami location. We wanted to dine somewhere outdoors with a lively ambiance, and it fit the bill in that regard. The dishes were tasty enough, but not super memorable and the portions were very small for the prices. The only dish that I’m still thinking about and really stood out to me was their Coconut Tres Leches dessert. That was delectable and had the perfect combination of flavors and textures. The Matcha dessert was also tasty, but was missing the it factor that the coconut Tres Leches definitely had. The dishes that we ordered: Dinamita roll Salvaje roll Tako (Japanese Octopus) Nigiri Kampachi tiradito Sashimi variety Wagyu Beef fried rice Salmon crispy rice Truffled mushroom dumplings Chilean Seabass were all pretty good and had some nice flavors. However, nothing really stood out to me as a “must have.” I’ve had those same dishes at other similar/comparable restaurants that tasted better and/or were bigger portions. It’s a pretty large menu so it can be hard deciding what to order, but I think we got a good mix for our first time. For the cocktails, our server recommended I order the “Sea of Love” cocktail. I love Mezcal so I had to take him up on it. The cocktail had some nice flavors in it but ended up being way too sweet for me. I couldn’t taste any of the mezcal or tequila in it at all, it just tasted like a dessert drink/juice That may be a plus for some people, I’m definitely not one of those people. The rest of the table had a bottle of red wine. The service was standard. Not exceptional, however the wait times for the food were not long at all. There was a good flow, and that’s important for a good and smooth experience. Nice ambience, lovely decor, and rooftop views. It was a Monday night and they still had some entertainment (a dancer that performed intermittently) and the decor was enticing, artsy and festive. We are not in a hurry to go back, but would recommend it to those that want an outdoor rooftop dining experience with cool decor, a lively ambiance, and entertainment. Maybe we’d give it another shot for their Monkey Brunch one day. #Rooftoprestaurant #sunsetviews #sushi #goodambiance #deliciousdesserts #rooftop #entertainment
Staff 10/10 Service 10/10 Food 5/10 We visited this rooftop restaurant on a late Sunday night after attending an event in the area. Amazing view. Staff was very attentive. Ordered brussel sprouts which was amazing and branzino. The branzino looked amazing when the brought it out but after a few seconds, we could begin to smell the fish was bad. Just need to be careful of when to throw out the meats.
We returned to Salvaje because of the great experiences we’ve had before, but unfortunately, this time the food wasn’t quite up to the same standard. The flavors seemed off, and the quality just didn’t match what we’ve come to expect. On the bright side, the service was as friendly and attentive as always, which we really appreciated. We’re hoping this was just an off night for the kitchen, as we’d love to see the food back to its usual high quality.
Went for Miami Spice, wasn’t impressed. I think we would’ve done better by ordering off the regular menu. The food was mediocre. We had sushi rolls, crispy rice, lamb and sea bass. I would say the drinks for golden hour were delicious. The atmosphere was scenic who doesn’t love a rooftop.
I visited Salvaje in Venezuela and expected this one to be better or the same. After being in the other one, this one looks very poor in decoration and design. Waitress outfits are terrible. The dancers just clap and jump, but there is no real choreography or something more professional. I feel that this place is more for tourist. It is very expensive for what the restaurant offers in food, entertainment and infrastructure. The service is good and friendly. Nothing to be impressed. The flavor of the food is good, many of the dishes with a lot of oil. I understand the fry rice has oil, but once is served on the plate is too oily. I ordered the filet mignon which is a small portion. I ordered red wine and it was room temperature. Even red wines should have a certain temperature. Langostinos too much cream cheese and rice. I don’t recommend it. I didn't like the DJ's music mix.
I love Salvaje and it’s one of my places to go because of their consistency, great drinks, service and not that crazy prices considering it’s Miami. I could consider myself a regular for this establishment, been there over 20 times between happy hours, dinners, the brunch(this is a deal, unlimited drinks and food for $85) in the last 2 years since I moved to the downtown area. This review is more for the new Omakase experience, I feel something needs to be said. The experience set up is nice, 5 starts there. It’s at the bar and for only 6 people. Let’s get into the details. First off, lack of transparency as to what you are gonna get. There is no menu, every person you ask, doesn’t know or doesn’t want to tell you, probably because of what I’m gonna reveal below which will turn customers away from this experience if you are like me someone who knows what they offer as part of the reg menu. Second, the experience is ridiculously priced for what you get. I will explain in detail below. They have two options: one for $75 and another for $125. The only difference is the more expensive gets 3-4 more sushi (single pieces) than the cheaper version, but other than that it is the same. From both experiences you will get items from the regular menu for the most part. The experience is like a sample experience of their regular menu, nothing exciting. And to make it even worse, you get only a single piece per plate, yes I know it’s Omakase but given there is no extra effort here, you are either expecting something more unique or if it is the reg menu to be a bit more generous, they missed the mark here. For instance, you get 1 piece of salmon crispy rice (reg price - $15 for 4 pieces) therefore, the single piece you get as part of the 10 dishes you will get throughout the experience, costs only $4 off the reg menu. Or the dynamite roll (priced at $17 for 4 pieces, by the way it is made with imitation crab)), this is another single piece you will get as part of the experience. Every other roll is about the same, it averages ~ $4/piece. The experience starts with a sample of miso soup(1st dish), then moves to the sushi/sashimi from dishes 2 to 7( you only get one piece as explained above, so only 6 pieces total and some of them are the same sushi they have in the menu, I.e., crispy rice, dynamite, etc). I should highlight that the sashimi’s were delicious, kudos there. With the 8th dish, they give you a small cucumber roll to clean your palate. And dishes 9 and 10 are dessert. If you are “lucky” and there are other people dining who opted for the $125 experience, not necessarily part of your group, they make you wait until these people get their extra plates and then serve everybody together with the last dessert. This is no sense and the 2 desserts makes less sense. I’m not coming here for dessert, one is ok, but 2, no reason for it. All in all, I think there is a lot of potential and room for improvement here. What I’m certainly sure is that it is not worth the $75, perhaps $50 at the most given there is no exclusivity about it and the a single pieces you are getting from regular menu. This feedback is constructive and I hope they take the necessary steps to bring the experience to the next level or I don’t think it will stay for longer. And yes, I will continue going to Salvaje but not to the Omakase :)
We chose Salvaje Miami for a Friendsgiving dinner on a Wednesday night. Our party of nine was excited for the experience, especially since the restaurant was almost empty that evening. Unfortunately, the night didn’t go as smoothly as we hoped. We decided to split the bill by couples, but our seating arrangement placed all the girls on one side and the guys on the other. This seemed to confuse the staff, and the service quickly became disorganized. Food delivery was inconsistent—some of us received our food while others waited over 15 minutes in between to be served. To add to the frustration, I had to ask three times for my appetizer, which was mistakenly given to someone else at the table. One of the girls asked for a sauce for her sushi, but it never arrived. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and unsure of how to manage the situation. Despite these issues, the food and drinks I eventually received were quite good. However, given the high prices, the level of service and organization fell far below expectations. While Salvaje has potential, our experience left much to be desired. I’d recommend it for the ambiance and quality of food, but only if they can improve their service.
The atmosphere is very nice and the view is great. However, the food is VERY bad!!! I visited this restaurant to enjoy cocktails somewhere after dinner. After enjoying cocktails and desserts (cocktails are $22 + 20% service charge. I don't think the taste is even worth it considering the price, but I might visit again if I factor in the atmosphere, etc.) I was still little hungry so I tried the salvaje roll and it was by far the worst sushi I have ever had in Miami. Like gross... I think maybe the snow crab was rotten, but it tasted so bad that I couldn't even finish it, even though we shared it w 2 ppl. Given the atmosphere, I might go there just for the cocktails, but the food is an absolute waste of money. By the way, we paid 120+ for one sushi, cake and two cocktails.
I recently visited Salvaje Miami and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The portions were very small for the price point, and the overall value did not match what I expected. I tried the Miami Spice menu, which was underwhelming in both quality and execution — it felt rushed and lacked the creativity the restaurant is known for. For a place with such a strong reputation, I anticipated a more balanced experience in terms of food, service, and value. While the ambiance is nice, the dining itself left much to be desired.
I had a very unfortunate experience at SALVAJE on Saturday, October 11th. While the food was being served, a cockroach came out of one of the wooden boxes and crawled across the table. I immediately informed the manager, but unfortunately, he showed little concern and took no visible action to address the issue. I believe that a place with SALVAJE’s reputation and ambition should pay greater attention to hygiene standards and customer care. It was an uncomfortable situation that I hope they will correct for the sake of future guests.
I visited Salvaje a few years ago and had a good experience back then. That’s why I recently went back, recommended by a friend, but unfortunately, it wasn’t the same. We ordered the Miami Spice menu and the portions were surprisingly small. I’ve tried Miami Spice at several restaurants and it has never been like this. The drinks we ordered from the menu were basically just ice — they were gone in seconds and definitely not worth the price. At the end, the bill automatically included a 20% tip, which I found excessive considering the service was not the best. We were four people, and one of us received their appetizer after the main course since we had to remind the waiter; otherwise, it would never have arrived. In conclusion, I honestly do not recommend this restaurant. It’s a shame, because I really enjoyed it years ago, but today it’s just not the same. This is my opinion, I just wanted to share my experience and I hope it’s respected. Thank you
I ordered a soup and didn't like it. They told me they couldn't remove it from the bill, which I didn't have a problem with. I ordered sushi, and it took them 20 minutes to bring it. To top it all off, the waiter brought me a container to take the soup home, even though I told him I didn't like it. He was very rude to me. Not recommended at all. He was a short, skinny, bald little guy with glasses.
