Open 24hrs it never fails! The food is always great and the waitresses are always welcoming! Come and try authentic Nicaraguan food from one of the oldest restaurants in Miami!
My visit to Yambo Restaurant was truly a highlight of my time in Miami, offering an experience that far surpassed even more expensive dining spots! From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt like a warm, close-knit community. There was a wonderful buzz of people laughing, talking, and genuinely enjoying themselves, creating an unmatched vibe that was incredibly inviting and authentic. It truly felt like a place where locals gather, and that added so much to its charm. The food at Yambo is simply outstanding. Every dish I tried was packed with authentic, vibrant flavors, tasting incredibly fresh and homemade. It’s clear they take immense pride in their cuisine. I was particularly impressed by the generous portions and the sheer deliciousness of everything. For the quality and taste, the value is incredible; we spent around $36 for our entire meal, and it was hands down the best food we had in Miami. It easily outshone places where we spent over $100. Beyond the food, the service was fantastic – attentive and friendly, making the dining experience even more pleasant. The convenience of their 24-hour pickup front is also a huge plus. Yambo isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience, almost like a little museum with so much to see. I would honestly come back to Miami just to eat at Yambo again. It's a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious, authentic food and an unbeatable community atmosphere. Highly, highly recommend!
After a night riding in miami we stopped here to eat and it was delicious!!! There is so much to see that it’s like a little museum. Their pick up front is open 24 hours so convenient. Service was fantastic.
We spent around $36 for all our food, and it was by far the best meal we had in Miami—better than the $100+ spots we tried. The atmosphere at Yambo Restaurant felt like a close-knit community, with people laughing, talking, and genuinely enjoying themselves. The food was flavorful and authentic, and the vibe was unmatched. I would come back to Miami just for Yambo. Highly recommend!
Multiple visits every time I am in the area. Comforting home made taste, good value. More of a serve yourself venue then seated and served. Locals line up at lunch. Selections of chicken, pork, beef, and veg. Food tastes flavourful and fresh made.
I ate here years ago. The food is ok and they serve large portions.
Without a doubt, best carne asada in all of Miami! Thank you 😍
lovely food!! flavoured meat rice was lovely, as well as good variation. not much for vegetarian (beans and cheesey sauce and rice) but was very much delicious. plantain was excellent. really cool decorations and a good vibe. staff was helpful and kind, accommodating to our english- speaking.
This is a most go place in miami, to experience the taste of Nicaraguan cuisine, at Yambos you wont find just food, you'll be emerge in a little Nicaraguan culture bubble and as you eat meal your eyes will be mesmerized by all of the odd but interesting artifacts around you. This place is unforgettable and part of Miami's historic business community and has represented the Nicaraguan people with their excellent flavors for decades, I highly recommend this spot.

This is hands down the best fritanga in all of Miami. The carne asada is succulent and well cooked and hefty sized compared to other places around Miami. Gallo pinto’s ADDICTING and perfectly seasoned. I recommend the plantains and even though I don’t eat much dairy, I can’t avoid getting the fried cheese. If you’re in the area you MUST try it. Ps. They currently just raised their price by a dollar for the plate, but it’s still the old price on Uber Eats if you set it for pick up.
This is my favorite place to eat when I go to Miami...They are open basically 24 hrs. which is great because I'm a night owl...the prices are very reasonable too...all the food is good never had anything I didn't like...wish they had someone that spoke English though as ordering is kinda hard and there are some shady characters that hang out around here at night.
Cool old Nicaraguan place. Good food, big servings.
My favorite place to eat, anytime, any day, always the best!
Not the most luxurious place. Okay not luxurious at all and I probably wouldn’t eat here but take your food to go and get ready for some bomb.com Nicaraguan food. I eat traditional gallo pinto with charred grilled strip steak and sweet plantains. I have been coming here for 20 years give or take and this is home staple when I land in Miami. Pictured is a “manuelita” cinnamon and cheese filled pancake.
This is the absolute best place to eat in little Havana with a perfect variety. Be sure to grab a fried cheese with your meal!I drive from homestead for this place. Writing this post is making me go now, this place is awesome the line pretty much speaks for itself.people line up to get these yummy eats. This is an amazing piece of Nicaragua here in Miami.
Best Nicaraguan meal I've had in a long long time! If you've got two, three, up to six people in your party and you want a taste of everything tasty and Nica, get the bandeja... a heaping platter of fried cheese (yummmmmm), gallo pinto (rice and beans), tajadas (fried plantains), maduros (sweet plantains), cabbage slaw, taquitos, empanadas, succulent meat, chicken, pork, boiled yuca, two types of sausage, and crema. Top it off with a cold Milca soda or chilled cacao drink and the amazing dessert pio quinto (pudding with a nutmeg soaked pastry), and I swear you will be satisfied for the next week!
Food was amazing. Waitress very tentative. The dining area was very cool.
My first fritanga experience was at Yambo many years ago. I keep going back.
I was introduced to this restaurant from a coworker of mine while in lunch break we took a drive down to grab a bite to eat. We get to this small but very home style restaurant & I was amazed with all the different statues & articles all around it. So my friend ordered me the same thing she was eating. Carne Asada Gallo Pinto Maduros & Cacao to drink. I'M HOOKED🤗😁😁😁 That was in 2009 & I'M IN LOVE WITH THE PLACE THE FOOD IS AMAZING🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I JUST ORDERED ME SOME TONIGHT 9/15/20 through UberEats my son couldn't make up his mind but after seeing my plate I had to call in another order for him😆 We Love us some Yambo y'all👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤And that Cacao drink is MY FAVORITE OMG I LOVE IT & I LOVE SOME NICARAGUAN FOOD❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing good wholesome food wife loved her plate a good nica food AKA nicaragua food. Very good fresh and always a pleasure they have great selection of food and drinks and everything is great if your looking for some good mom's cooking you can't miss this place just look for the Yambo sign can't miss it!! Be back soon
Better then ever! Service was great! I used to eat here once a week when I still lived in Miami. Btw born and raised.. Its been well over 5 years since i last eaten at Yambo. Probably 10. This place is a mile stone. I consider Yambo to be a historical Miami location. Took an xtra plate home on my 3 hour trip back to the west coast.
Best Nica Spot to eat at of you're looking for authentic nica food.
Not a fancy joint, but I love coming here. Minimal parking but I walk here. Convenient hours and great food. Outdoor and indoor seating available, but I typically order to go. After hurricanes hit, this place opens. There are other similar restaurants in the area but I typically go to Yambo because they have been consistent for years.
A classic spot along the Flagler corridor, you've gotta go here for the wide array of food options, whether you're looking for a quick bite to eat or a full meal. You'll feel like you're traveling a little bit back in time when you check out the incredible history lining the walls through the photos and advertisements that still hang. Our favorite is the empanada made with plantains, filled with cheese and other flavors - delicious!

One of the most nica restaurants in Miami. Looks festive and the buying experience is cool\nBecause on one side is the food and on the other are the drinks
Amazing Food, Amazing Staff. Love the decor !\nThe melon and orange juice was fire! That fried cheese though. Came all the way from Houston and this is the first place I go to.

i have tried this place twice. the first time i ordered the carne asada with gallo pinto and the chicken taquitos. the carne asada and gallo pinto are AMAZING especially the second time i ordered. however the chicken taquitos i felt were nothing like this gallo pinto and carne asada and was boring in flavor. like it was just bad. i feel like this place could make better chicken taquitos or maybe a better product overall. the vibe of this place is absolutely phenomenal. it feels like home. the fried cheese and maduros in my second visit were also very tasty. i definitely recommend this place but i also recommend is changing those chicken taquitos.
I enjoy international food. Was surprised to see the prices on door dash, read reviews and decided to try. I got to hotel in Miami after 11p and food was delivered quickly by 12:30. It’s AMAZINGLY GOOD! I ordered the Carne Asada. No sauces or seasoning needed and my steak is perfectly charred, nothing Iike the reviewer who experienced a fatty steak or subpar food. Had to leave a review for those looking to try something different. The plantains, the fried cheese (never had), are all good! Oh and there is plenty for me to finish up if I don’t make it to breakfast in the AM! Great portions for the cost. Really don’t think it can be beat for non- fast food.
For Nicaraguans, this is the place to visit. The food was pretty solid although pretty limited as there were some items my family and I wanted, but they didn't have it like they used to when we last been there some years ago. The atmosphere was nice as it had lots of Nicaragua memorabilias from pictures, paintings, etc. The service was slow, but understood as there was only one person working the tables when we were there. So overall I had a solid time at the restaurant and may go back but not anytime soon.
Loved the place and the food was really good! The only reason why it doesn’t have 5 starts is because the menu doesn’t have any prices listed so it feels like they could be charging you anything they want, the waitress wasn’t the nicest about the topic so I wouldn’t go there unless I’m ready to deal with that.
Wow loved the efficiency and the quality of the food! We ordered via UberEats and not only did the food arrive earlier than expected but it was warm and delicious. The quantity definitely matched the quality. The food was well seasoned and well portioned. The kids absolutely loved the chicken tacos and gallo pinto!! The wings were extremely crispy and the Maduro nice and sweet. Definitely recommend this place! Oh and please try the fried cheese.

Great little find. Fresh cooked delicious meals made from scratch. This place should almost be a tourist attraction with all its decorations. If you are hungry this is a great place to stop. Massive portions. Only a 4 star as no one spoke any English but they do have an English menu and were accommodating to my limited Spanish. I can definitely recommend the food if you love Latin American food. Chicken, pork, beef, beans, rice ,plantains, empanada's etc.
Yambo is quintessential and a classic to the Miami food scene. This fritanga always delivers. The portions are massive and the prices are economical given the amount of food served. My advice is to come in and look at the dishes before you order. My friends ordered the carne asada and didn't have any complaints. I ordered their special of the day which was a pollo guisado (chicken in a sauce with potatoes and carrots) it was delicious and the whole plate only cost $6 and it came with 2 sides and a coleslaw salad. I was floored by the price and quality for the price. It doesn't surprise me that Yambo continues to be a Miami staple for fritanga.
Probably the best rolled tacos(taquitos) that I’ve had. I live in TX on the border of Mexico so I’m well accustomed to Hispanic food. I ordered 2 servings of chicken tacos, it was well seasoned, perfect temperature, and ready before the pick up time! It’s a cute little restaurant in downtown Miami, parking was free at the restaurant. The only potential downside is I’m not sure if they speak English 😅 you have the option for indoor or outdoor seating. My Oder was thru Uber eats with self pick up.
We have been to this restaurant several times in the last few years and always order the same thing, which you can see in my photo. Why, you ask? Because it is a perfect keto meal and costs less than $20. That's unheard of in Miami. Yambo is a small, older Nicaraguan restaurant in Little Havana that has been in business for many years. It was recommended to us by friends as a casual, never remodeled popular place with the locals. It is almost like a mini-museum with all the various collectibles on the walls , ceiling, and tables in the dining room in the back, which is where we like to sit. There is outdoor seating in the front by the entrance. We order the Carne Asada with fried queso and coleslaw each time we go. Low carb and low calories. Perfect keto. Being a foodie can cause weight gain, so this is the place to eat well and not gain weight. The food is fresh and delicious. Alcohol, beer, and wine are available at their bar. Yambo is open 24 hours and is doing deliveries and catering. There are about 8-20 parking spots and wheelchair accessiblability in front of the restaurant. You may have to drive around the block for a parking spot. We recommend this place.
Frankly, this location is not as bustling as the Pinolandia 24/7 Fritanga down the street. With that being said, Yambo is a Nicoya staple. The indoor seating area and bar feel like you are in a fritanga back home. The prices are unbeatable, buckets of 6 Toñas for $30, a sampler plate that feeds a whole table. Where else can you say Selena Quintanilla and Hulk Hogan enjoyed some central American food? I like stopping in with family or out of town guests for the ambiance and colorful decor. If you are looking for faster service, try Pinolandia, but if you want an authentic sit-down experience, come to Yambo.
We were waiting out the baseball traffic and stumbled into Yambo. Had a tiny language barrier that made service a little slow but we got through it fine. I had the steak. It was a little over done …

Food was nice. I really liked it.. good flavors, very artistic ambience. Portions are good and big. Food didn’t delay. Lovely place.
Food was could have use a bit more flavor and meat needed some tenderizing. It was my first time having fried cheese and I do have to say it was delicious. Flan I would not recommend it’s not home made and not fresh. Ive had better flans save your money. There was only on staff member to take the our order. Language was an issue even do I speak Spanish. I asked for salad and asked if the salad had tomatoes and if it had Romain letters she stated yes since one of our parties does not eat cabbage. Then her plate comes out with just cabbage. I asked the staff member again do u have salad that contains tomato and Romain letter and any Caesar dressing and she then stated no all I have is cabbage and that what our salad is and means in the menu. Obviously she didn’t comprehend what I was asking for. They serve can sodas no fountain soda if your in to that. I would have given better starts but the staff and a bit of lack of taste of the food made it a 3 star place. Overall it’s a cool place to visit they have runs of decor in the wall that makes this place unique and interesting to visit.

It was okay for Nicaraguan food. They charge $60 for an appetizer but only offer plastic cutlery. Also their cabbage salad had no flavor and they use purple cabbage, it looks like a pre mix.

Ladies didn't wanted to cook an item for us, told us that they ran out of it, but someone made an order with that item from the inside and she cooked it after she told us that they were none, we told her why she was saying that there were none to us but she was cooking for someone else's order. She gave us an attitude for almostv10mins until a guy (assuming that was her boss) told her why she was arguing with us, he was there next to her hearing everything from the beginning. She cooked the item and kept giving us pissed off faces. I don't know why they hire ppl with no manners. The food that we order was ok, not the best one or worst one that I've eaten. All the food that they had on display looked all dried up, like they were cooked from the morning, I was there late night.
The prices have increased every year while the quality and quantity of food have stayed the same. Unfortunately no longer a spot that's great for locals, I've been coming here for years for takeout.
I could order more food to go, but the waitress was more attentive to her cell phone 📱than the customers. Also menu doesn't show prices,🤔 better ask for prices before ordering. Waitress warn us if we paid with credit card a surge charge of 7.5% will be added to our bill. Crazy! 😵💫
Food was awesome. I understand this is lil Havana but no one spoke a word of English and they told us the food came out to 40$ but I got a charge on my card for 55? The lady ringing me up definitely charged more to us since we couldn’t speak Spanish lol she also didn’t turn the device to pay to us she kept it to herself but for other customers let them do it themselves so automatically suspicious.
Good price but the restaurant needs to improve
It was a fun experience. This place is nuts. I’m not talking about the food, but the decorations: Crazy fun. I spent my visit being absorbed by all the stuff on display here. It’s very distracting, but in a good way. Pure maximalism. This is a Nicaraguan joint, so carne asada is what I wanted. The food was tasty, as expected. And the plate was HUGE. My plate was a combination of carne asada, sweet plantains, rice, salad fried cheese and a piece of avocado. I was not able to finish it, but it was good. The meat was a little dry but tender, good flavor. I liked it. A big letdown was the servers. Maybe I went there on a slow, day but the server was not very helpful. She was interested but lazy. She wasn’t letting me order what I wanted, and it was right there. This thing aside, I see why people get very fond of this place. I’ll try it again soon, to see if anything changes.

I’ve been coming to Yambo for years whenever I’m in Miami visiting family, and I usually look forward to the food. Last night, I ordered carne asada, some drinks, and nacatamales before driving back home to Jupiter (about 90 miles north). When I got home, I was so disappointed to find that while I received the gallo pinto, plantains, and salad, there was no meat in my order. Of course, it’s partly my fault for not checking before leaving, but really—customers shouldn’t have to worry about whether their main dish is missing. And this isn’t the first time this has happened. To make things worse, I tried calling the restaurant and the phone number didn’t work. The nacatamales were also a huge letdown this time around. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves organization and quality control. I will be back next time I’m in Miami, but I plan to speak with a manager directly. This type of mistake is unacceptable, especially for loyal customers who drive a long way to enjoy the food.
We visited Yambo Restaurant and found the carne asada to be good, but the rest of the food and overall experience were underwhelming. During our meal, we overheard waitstaff speaking loudly about calling ICE on customers. This was extremely unsettling to hear, especially in a Latino restaurant and coming from a Latina waitress. It made us feel very uncomfortable, and we chose to leave shortly after. Unfortunately, the atmosphere overshadowed the food, and we would not return based on this experience.

Definitely not like it use to be the food wasn’t good and the service was even worse. I don’t think I’ll be going back to this place. Very unhappy employees with a terrible management. I felt sorry for the workers there.
I used to go to Yambo a long time ago a lot. I hadn't been there in years. I ordered what I always ordered. The food quality went down terribly and their price almost doubled 21 dollars in change for a plate of food it wasn't worth it. I definitely will never go back there again.
Food is ok not great but there is people that hang around asking for money and i wich it was food but is not . Today is September 8 5:30pm so I came this one's more. I try gallo pinto and cane asada with tajadas. Carne asada was good gallo pinto wasn't hot like it should be. La tajadas was all broke in a paper bag . I just wish ,I should took a picture of all. Anyway . I sat down to enjoy my food. Got the table . And got bird shot on it. She for got gave my folk and condiments. Anyway all finished went to bathroom there was no paper so I went ask the said that manager wasn't in yet , so you can use the women bathroom. So I dis all I wanted is to was my hands and gest what there wasn't any soap to wash my hands. Just water thanks.
The employees in the Cafe are very rude, they have an awfull attitude,But in front of the owner they behave like angels
If it wasn’t for my friends coming here, I wouldn’t. They had a filet of fish the other day and we ordered it, loved it so we came again. We ordered the fish again and asked her about it and they said yes we have a fish, but it takes time. we asked if it was a filet, and they said yes. When i went to go pay, they charged me $30 for a dish that i paid $14 for last time. I paid $42 for both of my foods and i thought maybe it was a different catch and that’s why it was so expensive. So i asked why it was so expensive when the last time, i paid $14? and they said no, because it’s the whole fish. said i didn’t want the whole fish and they said okay no problem, but you already paid for so we keep the money. I found it super unfair that the only expensive dish in the fritanga spot was $28. Like come on, you should say something. I work for a restaurant and as a server, you have to mention when things are market price. the fact that they just said yeah it’s a filet. I asked to cancel because I’m afraid of eating a bone from my food and they couldn’t have the courtesy to explain a dish to a customer. Worst experience i’ve ever had in a fritanga place, man.
Unfortunately it wasn't a good experience since we ordered "Chicken tacos" that are more like taquitos. The chicken was bad and smelled bad, What I did hate the most was that when I told to the waitress about it, after a while she came back telling me that that's the flavor and the smell of their tacos and definitely I had to pay for that food. Honestly I didn't care and I didn't eveb think about the money. It was the fact that they were selling food that can make someone get really sick and in top of that they didn't want to take responsibility at all. The waitress definitely could be more gentle and understandable at least saying "I'm so sorry" instead this is how it is so there is no refund. After 15min she finally came back to me saying I was right, the chicken was bad. I cannot imagine how many people ate that chicken that day.
The family and I went for Father’s Day and the experience wasn’t great. The food isn’t authentic and are cutting corners, tacos without the cooked salad that does on top, refrigerator cold salpicón. Plastic utensils, menu wi/o prices. Pinol, the most traditional drink isn’t on the menu. The decorations are 50% Nicaraguan, and the rest is Mexican, Cuban and other countries. If you’re looking to have authentic Nicaraguan experience, this isn’t the place honestly.
I went there during the afternoon, itit was probably around 1 PM. The lady behind the counter put the food in a to-go box and since it was raining I decided to sit at one of the tables they have outside. I noticed that the roof was leaking and all the water from the rain started failing in my food. I had barely eaten any food maybe I just had one spoonful so I walked up to the lady behind the counter and explained the situation to her and I asked if they could possibly replace the food since I haven't had any food yet ; she said no but I could go and sit inside the restaurant and eat the food that I had already bought. Since the water from the roof fell into my food I did not feel safe eating it so I ended up throwing away almost all the food. Now I am a regular customer, I have been there at least five times in the last two weeks. At this point I don't know if she doesn't care about her job or doesn't care about the customers but if a customer paid for the food and something unsanitary like this happens to the food then they should be replacing the food especially when they know that Customer has barely eaten any food. And especially when you know that you are dealing with a regular customer who brings Business; it is very wrong. And that was my last visit to their business.
Everyone here had an attitude and didn’t want to work. It felt like we were there during closing time when I asked at what time they closed they said 24hrs. Will never come back.
I ordered carne asada, but the rice was completely uncooked.
This fritanga used to be good but it is now probably the worst fritanga in all of Miami. Eat at your own risk. I bought 2 nacatamales and one of them was rotten. It smelled so bad I don't know how they could sell something like that. The meat in the Carne Asada also had a weird taste and smell (not my first rodeo since I'm Nica). The only good thing was the queso frito, tajadas, gallo pinto, and the salad. Upon paying, she asked if I wanted some chile, and I said, YES PLEASE. She still forgot to put any in the bag. Unreal. If you're Nica like me, you know you want your chilito with your food. Service was ok but slow. I have been to this location since the 90s, but times have changed. I will never return to this establishment. Way better fritangas or Nica restaurants in the area.
This place has gone downhill. This is my fourth time visiting Miami and this place had always been my go to place! I love the latin food in Miami but this time, it was cold and the woman taking my order had soooo much attitude! Get with the program lady! You have all these dishes and no labels, no prices, no system of ordering or nothing. I'm asking questions and you're literally almost rolling your eyes at every question. When customers choose your establishment over other restaurants, you should show the bare minimum level of customer service. Not every one is familiar with your dishes or lives in a country without many different Latin food options. I'm from Australia and there are ZERO Nica restaurants there for your reference.
I spend hours doing Uber eats to go buy me a Carne Asada. I went to YAMBO when i taste it was garbage the gallopinto was hard ,and the carne asada did not have any seasoning , I regret buying it from this place because the others fritangas were closed late at night . This place eas everyone favor back in the days years ago , no wonder is always empty.
I love Yambos. I am a Miami native been coming here for over 3 decades when plates were 7-8 bucks. Yesterday Sunday we made our usual stop when around the area. I was very disappointed with the service upfront . I always ask for French fries due to histamine issues and the lady upfront advice they weren’t any fries mind you I been coming here for 30 years and they never have them ready as they are always cooked when ordered . It was very annoying since first time in 30 years I get denied fries. Secondly when we received the slaw salad which is always on point it was not well seasoned it was missing vinegar ans salt when we asked the lady upfront (same lady that refused the fries) said that they stopped adding too much vinegar because of the many complaints … same salad that has us coming back for 30 decades … I feel it’s important for long time customers to give their reviews to management because sometimes an employee lack of customer service skills will cost u customers specially those that have been loyal to your business ..this is why I’m giving you 1 star … as I read some Of the other reviews and it seems most of the review is advising and complaining about the employees.
Fraudulent charge on credit card from them. I was told the food was one price (including taxes) and then the credit card statement had a 10% higher amount when I checked it later. They appear to be charging a 10% fee without even telling you they will charge you more if you use a credit card. Use cash if you must come here
