Honestly 10/10, the food was so tasty and worth the price, the staff was so friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant inside is beautiful and clean. I’d recommend this place to anyone passing by Midhurst, and I’m excited to come back again
Fantastic steak, perfectly cooked, great quality meat, generous portion size. Other meals looked and apparently tasted equally delicious. Friendly but not obtrusive service. Nice surrounds and decor, pleasant atmosphere. Look forward to the next visit!
First time visit today for my wife and I. We were not disappointed, the food was excellent and very tasty. The young chap who served us was also friendly and excellent. We had the Bruchetta Alla Romana and Cannelloni from the set menu which was good value. Also had Fungi All'Aglio and Stinco Di Angello all were superb. The Pinot Grigio was also super. Reminded us of our local Italian restaurant in Emsworth Nicolino's and was just as good.
It's definitely our favourite restaurant in Midhurst! The service is fast, friendly, and professional. The food is authentic Italian, I just can't decide which dish to order, risotto, pollo, lasagne, carbonarra, boognese or pizza etc, It's all so good. The pizzas are possibly the highlight of the menu. Wider with thinner crust is the way to go. Parking is limited to side streets, or around the corner behind the post office is a public car park, free after 6 pm.
Good Italian restaurant set within the lovely village of Midhurst. Serving excellent food, good menu choices, and excellent and friendly service. If you live or just passing through Midhurst, then I can highly recommend this restaurant
Really enjoy coming here the food is excellent and the staff are very friendly always happy to see you nothing is too much trouble. We come all the way from havant. we have been coming here for a while. We love it 😀
Good food, friendly restaurant.
It is a charming restaurant, its impeccable service and delightful staff. The cozy and welcoming environment is great. Overall, the dining experience was truly delicious. The blend of classic British countryside charm combined with the flavours of Italian cuisine created a perfect harmony on the menu. Great for the whole family. The food was 👌🏼, I will definitely be returning soon.
Went there for the first time and we will definitely be back. Very impressed with food, had starters, mains and dessert (tiramisu to die for). We felt welcomed by very nice and professional staff. Highly recommend 👌
We are regulars at this restaurant both for eating in and for take aways. We have eaten many of the dishes on the menu, our favourites being lasagne and mushroom risotto. The food is always delicious and we have always had a great meal. The staff are brilliant, friendly and offer a great service, they always go over and above to fit us in if we haven’t booked.
My partner and I went for dinner at Fratelli mid-week, we have just recently moved to Midhurst and wanted to find a nice Italian. The food was 10/10 and reasonably priced, the staff were lovely and it is obviously a popular place as it was quite busy! I was also very pleased that they had a separate vegan menu, that's always appreciated. We will definitely be coming back :-)
A beautiful restaurant with a very cozy atmosphere and a friendly staff that offers dishes for all tastes! The lamb was perfect as well as their pasta!!
I come here frequently and the standards are always amazing. Food is consistently wonderful and the staff are always so kind and serving. I would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Midhurst 😁
We had an amazing meal last night for my parents 50th wedding anniversary celebrations. Food and service was excellent, and the staff were very accommodating and let us bring some table decorations, balloons and a cake. Whole heartedly recommend!
Absolutely loved this restaurant. Lovely Italian food and very professional staff. Was there for lunch so a tad quiet but I'm sure dinner would be more atmospheric. Would be cheaper if you didn't have wine but for us it's necessary
Randomly came across this place on the drive down to our caravan with the kids and so glad we decided to stop, the food was lovely and not expensive, the staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Will definitely be suggesting stop here again on our was to Selsey.
The best Italian pizza Great taste, traditional Italian cuisine scents that take you on a journey through Italian culture and the staff very hospitable and kind we had a great time💯🇮🇹
I came here today for lunch with my mom. Food was very tasty and freshly cooked, we had both main courses and desserts. The oven baked chicken pasta is a must try! Very nice atmosphere and pleasant service.
Great food atmosphere and service, kids love it here
Really nice meal, good childrens menu and they served my daughter really quickly which was really appreciated by us. Would go back and recommend.
A group of 8 had a superb lunch dining experience yesterday, for which very many thanks indeed. The restaurant was warm, the staff efficient and very friendly, the food absolutely delicious and the portions generous. All in all, a 5 star experience - well done.
Fratelli is a stylish Italian restaurant in the town of Midhurst. My husband and I had dinner there this evening whilst staying in Midhurst overnight and we were certainly not disappointed. The staff were welcoming and attentive but discrete. And the food was excellent, all washed down with a superb Italian Classico. We both agreed it was the best Italian meal we’d had in a long time. My carbonara was creamy and very tasty and my husband had saltimbocca which he thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, we couldn’t fault the food or the service. Our only regret is that we live so far away and shan’t be able to return in the near future but we can highly recommend that you do
A great restaurant with a lively atmosphere. I really appreciated that tables had plenty of space and so it did not feel cramped. The food was plentiful and delicious
Lovely restaurant. Amazing value £19.95 for the three course lunch menu. Lots of choices and delicious homemade food. Highly recommend.
What a find. Food excellent. Very good service by friendly staff. Lunch menu very good value for money.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff but didn't quite get the orders right for drinks or food.
Lovely place, amazing pizzas and pasta, good service, the chef is looking experienced and respectfull because the food is coming out of the kitchen in the best way
We dropped in early on a Saturday evening with no reservation and they found us a table and were really welcoming and wonderful. The food and wine was excellent, we really enjoyed ourselves, would recommend!
Quite busy even on a Wednesday evening (good sign, we thought), they still found a space for us and were welcoming and friendly without being intrusive. Good portions and prices, well cooked food, and excellent gluten free menu too. Would definitely come back.
Was able to get in last minute, amazingly friendly and welcome. Food was absolutely delicious and was enjoyed with the accompaniment of an amazing vocalist.
Very busy, but the waitress was still efficient and charming. Food was fab with great vegan and gluten free options.
Lovely place the food is brilliant it is home made food. The best Italian food place in Midhurst. Wonderful food. People who run it are very lovely.
We had a lovely meal in fratelli's, the food was delicious and the wait staff was attentive and welcoming. We had the cannelloni and the saltimbocca alla Romana which was absolutely perfect! We will definitely be going back.
We had a lovely meal here. Really good carbonara and bolognese, and delicious dessert too. Friendly wait staff. Would recommend!
Superb Sunday meal with the family in ancient Midhurst. Excellent quality food and a lot of it. Pizza, bolognese and prawn linguine were all very good. Good service and a thoroughly comprehensive menu.
Such a lovely restaurant in Midhurst. I've been singing for them during Oct & they've treated me so well. Very friendly, lovely food & great vibe. Highly recommended
Such a lovely evening at Fratelli - fresh food, fantastic wine recommendations and highly attentive staff. We will definitely be returning - thank you!
We had the best time at this restaurant whilst celebrating our honeymoon with our 20 month old daughter. The food is fantastic but what sets this place apart is the fantastic, family friendly service. They went the extra mile to make it a great experience, with thoughtful touches like offering to cool our daughter's food a bit first. We can't say how much we appreciated your kindness and welcome, thank you!
We received a warm welcome and the restaurant itself looked clean and contemporary. The ravioli was delicious. The garlic bread was exceptional (possibly the best garlic bread we've ever had!). The let down was the linguine al sugo di astice; described as Silky linguine in a luscious lobster sauce, roasted cherry tomatoes, king prawns, garlic, white wine and aged parmesan. There were no cherry tomatoes, the garlic and white wine were definitely lacking intensity because it tasted like a basic tomato sauce had been used instead. I expected more for £18, especially because I would never order any seafood dish with a tomato sauce. I didn't make a fuss because we were with our daughter who has just moved to Midhurst and I didn't want to embarrass her. It's a shame as I'm not sure I would return now and am disappointed as I thought we'd found a nice restaurant for when we visit. The service was excellent. There was just the right amount of attention in a timely manner and genuinely friendly. The merlot was good and as described and the drinks list was extensive. A mixed experience overall. Maybe the chef ran out of the lobster sauce or thought they could get away with producing a lesser dish for some reason? As someone who is fortunate enough to eat out a lot (see my many other restaurants reviews) they were out of luck this time.
Missing many basic service skills - not clearing starter cutlery, leaning over to get to other side of the table when serving and clearing, not clearing glasses/bottles and being behind bar on their mobiles. Staff took our jackets and they put on a shelf near the toilets. Overall polite but did not seem experienced for a restaurant. Not convinced a Sunday roast in a Italian restaurant is traditional however menu seemed comprehensive. Food was good, seasoned and tasty and reasonable value. Dessert - Banoffee pie was lovely.
A decent, but nothing more, Italian in Midhurst. The service is good and attentive but the food did leave a lot to be desired for. The prawn risotto that we ordered was very basic and did not taste as a well made risotto rather more like a bunch of things thrown together with rice. Canneloni was also average and slightly plasticky in texture. Overall a distinctly average experience despite the friendly service and pleasant decor.
We booked for our Anniversary as we have been before and had a great experience. Unfortunately this was not repeated. The waitress was fantastic and very attentive and coped well despite being on her own. When the food arrived my salmon was raw as I cut into it. The waitress apologised and a fresh meal was cooked for me. However my husband then ate his meal alone as did I when my replacement arrived. Not quite what we had in mind. There was no compensation not even the offer of a complementary drink. I have previously worked in hospitality and the very least you offered for an issue was a free drink. Sadly we shall not be returning and until today have rated this Italian restaurant very highly. Once again praise to the wonderful waitress.
First visit for a couple of years to see if it had improved but it is still the same average food for a lot of money. Some items were overcooked and the pizza was substandard more suited for a supermarket economy range than a restaurant. The service was good is a little forced and the wine and beers were good but it is a shame the food was so poor. If you want decent Italian food it is still the case of needing to travel to Chichester or Petersfield from Midhurst.
We used to really like visiting here but have not had pleasant experiences on our last two visits. We’ve found a couple of the staff to be particularly unfriendly and the food seems to be a bit blander than it used to be, although still ok if you want some basic Italian food. We’ve removed from our places we pop to for a treat because of the patchy service
Came here for dinner, ordered mains along with a bowl of olives to share, no olives ever came out after waitress had asked twice how many portions we wanted. My partner ordered a calzone, the waitress asked whether he wanted Italian style but couldn’t see a choice on menu, my partners calzone only had ham and mushroom in it. When we asked the waitress she said she didn’t know what was in it and then said not her problem as not her restaurant. We spoke to the guys behind the bar I asked what should be in the calzone and one said read the menu, so when I explained we only had ham and mushroom and ham wasn’t even stated in the filling they apologised said they were busy and chef must have forgotten, offered a desert we waited over 20 mins for desert order to be taken but in the end gave up and asked for the bill. No one then came to take payment so walked to the bar was then told to wait as the girls would take payment, was then told to go to back of restaurant as machine was on charge! Got there then was told their machine was faulty but already knew it was because it was on charge. Won’t be returning
Unfortunately failed to meet expectations. Cabernara was poor quality. Pasta was from the packet. Seafood pizza had no topping, no seafood. Garlic pizza was dry, not great. It's an expensive restaurant, the quality and the service isn't there. Wouldn't return there again.😢
Food was not authentic, atmosphere was ok,young staff were trying there best and were polite and friendly. Lots of stuff missing from the menu, one of the worst dining experiences. Can't believe they are over 4 stars. Very misleading
Just had a pizza and salad and within 30 minutes of arriving home my wife has been violently sick and nauseous…….. please avoid this restaurant at all costs this is a basic food hygiene issue and NOT alcohol related!
Updated review — 27 December 2025 (1 star). Last reviewed in March 2025 — awarded 5 stars across all areas (5 Star). There have been noticeable changes recently: a new menu, possible changes in management, and a decline in food quality. Having visited this restaurant many times over the years, it’s disappointing to see standards slip so quickly. Something has definitely changed, though I’m not sure what. I also can’t find any recent reviews from mid‑December 2025 onwards, so it would be helpful to hear whether others have noticed the same shift. Sadly, it feels like the end of one of our go‑to spots in a town that doesn’t have many restaurant options 🥲
Extremely disappointed. We booked table a two months or so in advance for the first night of a weekend to celebrate a special Anniversary , we were 8 covers inc two young children. From the time we arrived the front of house team appeared to be understaffed , disorganised and under pressure. We arrived at 18:15 , 5 mins after we did manage to place a wine order, however by 19:00 , despite our very best efforts to get some table service, the wine had not arrived, the food order had not been taken and the waiting staff unfocused. Looking around the restaurant it was clear that the situation was not going to improve that evening ; there were more diners arriving , many of the occupied tables still to order , with a seemingly inexperienced , and clearly very stressed front of house team no knowing how to manage the situation We regretfully cancelled, leaving Fratelli’s to eat at our hotel. The quality of the food at Fratelli’s unfortunately remains a mystery.
