I’m a fan of the Frank Guagenti Milano Cafe. He’s a sweetheart of a man and treats every guest as if they’re family. The family recipes have been used for generations of happy meal-times for their own family and they invite you in to be a part of it as you dine here. The staff they retain has always been top notch. Good people. The quality never changes and it’s always excellent. Try the simple homemade meatball in secret family recipe red sauce or the fettuccine Alfredo that’s so buttery and creamy it just makes you happy. Highly recommend this wonderful family restaurant.
Our server Beth was absolutely amazing. She was very friendly and attentive. At one point we witnessed another server say "I don't want that table" and Beth assisted without hesitation. Everything for us eas absolutely perfect. Our Valentine's celebration was outstanding, the food was out of this world as always! Definitely 1 of our favorite place to travel to. Thank you for always being consistent and delicious.
Milano’s Café is our go-to for family gatherings, and they never disappoint. We’ve hosted multiple events there, and every time the food is incredible and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The family-style Italian is the best way to celebrate — platters of meatballs, Italian chicken, fresh salads, pasta… all generous, all delicious. Everything tastes homemade and comes out hot and perfectly timed. No one ever leaves hungry.Beyond the food, the staff treats you like family. They make hosting effortless, which lets you actually enjoy your guests instead of worrying about details. If you’re planning a luncheon, celebration, or just want great Italian comfort food, Milano’s is a gem. We absolutely love it.
The service was excellent and I cannot say enough about the food the salad was so good got the house dressing which was delicious. To the buttery flavor of the Alfredo sauce. You can not go wrong eating here.
It feels like a walked into a time machine, back when they cooked food with real extra virgin olive oil!!! Real old school Italian food. Nothing more to say but it was fantastic, this was the veal parmesan. I am looking forward to making my way through the entire menu.
We just had the thanksgiving carry out meal. The turkey was perfectly cooked. Sweet potatoes had the right amount of sweetness. The potatoes were the most flavorful I've ever had and the pumpkin pie was perfection.
I've enjoyed Milano Cafe for years; food is always great, staff have always been nice. I've never had a complaint and can't think of any family or friend who has. Absolutely worth a visit.
Always a great meal, good service, and affordable lunch options. A salad and half sandwich for under $10 is the reason to make Milano Cafe a first choice.
Every dish we had was high quality. The staff were confident and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is comfortable and familiar.
The best dinner I’ve ever had from a small town restaurant EVER! Not to mention the service 10/10 not one item was sub par. Highly recommend!
This has been our favorite restaurant for years. We have never had a bad meal or bad service and we love eating here! This past weekend we used them to cater our daughter’s wedding. The food was phenomenal and we got so many compliments on the appetizers and the meal (especially the Pork Piccata!). The staff was professional and efficient and made sure everything was exactly the way we wanted it. Whether dining in or using their catering (which we have done multiple times) we highly recommend Milano Cafe!
I just used Milanos to serve my wedding and they were fabulous. Very easy to work with throughout the whole process. They had a wonderful meal for us to pick out what we wanted and on our wedding day the serving and food was wonderful. I have always had a great expirence eating there and am so glad I used them for our wedding I couldn’t recommend them more!
Great experience here. We had the family room reserved for a group of 20 and they did a fantastic job taking care of us. Food was top notch - we had steaks and chicken Parmesan. Price was a little high and it took 45 minutes to get our food, but the atmosphere was great and Brittany was an excellent waitress.
It was lovely! The atmosphere was calming, the food was amazing, and I will definitely be coming back. Our waitress was so nice & polite, always there right when we needed her! The food was so nice & authentic with a lovely earthy taste, the bread they have is so mild but sweet with the butter on it. And everything came through pretty quickly too! Definitely stop by when you have the time.
The quality and taste of food at Milano Café was exquisite. From the appetizer to the dessert and everything in between, my tastebuds were amazed with all the amazing flavours their Italian food had to offer. It took me a while to order from the menu as I personally could have eaten eveything listed. The staff were amazing and professional. As for the restaurant itself, it had a slightly dated interior but fear not, as your mind will be on the food. I totally recommend this place.
A little pricey, but its really good. I ordered the cheese ravioli and it was amazing. I also got a side of soup with it which was great as well. For dessert I got a piece of cheesecake. The sprinkles were a little much but it was still delicious. The waitress was very nice and the atmosphere was great. I will definitely go back.
Step into the old world gangster time Era setting of Fine Dining where the steak is near perfection, the salmon is awesome, the porkchops are smothered, and the wine selection is great.
The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 is due to service being slow and not very attentive. Other than that the food was very good. We had the Italian appetizer with mozarella sticks, Portobello sticks, and fried calamari. It was very good. The white sauce that tasted like it had horseradish was better than the marinara. The "stuffed" garlic bread was okay. Just a half of a sliced baguette with some cheese in the middle. The poppy seed type dressing was not creamy and more vinaigrette based than I was expecting. The salad was crispy and fresh though. My scallops were HUGE! It was a Friday special and so good! My husband had the pork chops and they were so big and juicy! The risotto on my scallops was good, but slightly chewy. Cocktails were good. Overall, 4/5.
Although a bus boy gave us water, we waited 10 mins for a waitress to take our order. When she did, we ordered the portabella sticks (tasty, good amt & dip was yum) for an app. My son ordered the ravioli, it was undercooked. I got the lasagna. It did not have ricotta. It was okay, not great. The sauce was a nice gravy. Our dinners came with house salads & we asked for ceasar dressing, which was delicious. For dessert, he got the carrot cake, which he liked & I got the tiramisu, which I enjoyed.
I love this place. Best food and great owner. However, we just had the poorest service there last night. Server was so messed up, when I first ordered my salad, I asked for extra dressing, didn't get it tell we left. She was not on time with anything. There were four of us. That's about a $200.00 bill. Guess she thinks tip are not earned. We will be back but she won't be our server.
Ordered a meatball panini and fried portobello mushrooms for lunch. Ordered at 11:00am was told it was going to take 20mins. I show up at 11:35am my food wasn't done thats fine. But then I kept getting told its almost done. I don't get my food until 11:55am 55mins after I Ordered it. I was upset but still okay just a couple minutes late coming back from my work lunch break. I'm eating it at my desk and find out it's burnt. That just put me over like I can deal with the restaurant having a bad day or behind but after all that and it's burnt like come on. It sucks because they really do have amazing food I think that's why I was upset enough to write a review.
The pizza was terrible. My main issue was the crust, which was honestly the worst crust I have ever had (crunchy in all the wrong ways, tough to eat) but the rest of the pizza wasn't great either. It was also very expensive. I had a Totino's frozen pizza (which cost $2) from a toaster oven the night before, and honestly it was on par if not better than the Milano's pizza. Maybe the rest of the food is OK, but the pizza ain't it. Service was alright, the dining room was crowded but I can't hold that against the restaurant. The atmosphere was about what you'd expect, nothing to write home about.
Use to love going to this place it was top notch best of the best. Went there and took 5 minutes to be greeted to be seated, wasn’t even that busy. Got seated drinks were ordered and brought right out but that was about the extent of the night. Ordered pizza took forever, came out overcooked ordered extra sauce there was hardly any sauce. Had to flag down a busser to get ahold of the waiter to even get refills even though he said he would bring them and kept going past our table to other tables trying to sell his 71 Harley on what he thought was top prospects. Observed cooks coming out in to the dining area wearing pajamas, doesn’t seem very professional for the type of restaurant this is supposed to be. Ordered dessert hoping it would be better as it use to be very good. Disappointed in that as well, ordered the chocolate cake and a brownie came out. I use to think this was the best Italian restaurant in Lima and Olive Garden was trash but now it’s apparent I was wrong and it’s the opposite. Oh and I was pitched the Harley sales pitch as well after the waiter was done in the back at the bar constantly talking to other staff. The atmosphere has changed dramatically no music doesn’t feel like authentic Italian doesn’t seem like anyone cares anymore. Needs an overhaul or someone watching over the show, or close the doors this place sucks….
