Ciao Pizza

Delicious hoagies (subs) made from homemade rolls and excellent deli lunch meat, fresh vegetables and toppings. Original Italian pizza was great too. Great service and customer relations. Easterners will appreciate Ciao’s food; westerners will enjoy it as well. We are from PA & were searching for good Italian style homemade subs/hoagies for dinner while vacationing here in Newport Beach. This was my husband’s favorite meal of the week we’ve been out here.

***Review was for previous owners, not current so this review unfortunately is not based on anything since 2024*** Ask for the east coast pepperoni pie. Having ordered this pie well north of 100x it’s always consistent made with the highest ingredients. Top it off with Oregano and crushed red peppers and you have a masterpiece. Best pie in SoCal. If you say pie and pep this is for you. If your looking for a side of ranch Dominos is right down the street. East coast mom and pop in Costa Mesa. Must have pie once a week.

We came here to have a drink while we waited to eat Ramen.. when we entered they were super friendly, we ordered our drinks and explained we here for a quick wine. They checked on us and ended up ordering cheese knots... OMG!!! AMAZING . Thus place is a hidden gem.

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place as we were about to get sushi across the lot. I’m so happy we saw this restaurant and changed our minds haha. We were seated right away, the service was amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious. There’s limited seating inside, but you can also sit at the bar. They have TVs playing all the games too. It’s a cute, lowkey spot. Parking was easy to find in the lot. Food review: They have some cocktails and beers to choose from. I tried the canned Paloma and added some lemonade to it cuz it was a little strong. It was bomb! Pizza: (5/5) We got the meat lovers pizza. It was definitely fresh! It came out steaming hot, the crust had a nice crunch and soft on the inside, the sauce was delicious, and overall pizza was super flavorful and filling. Lemon pepper wings: (5/5) These were bomb! They tasted like actual chicken… haha idk if that makes sense. But flavor wasn’t overpowering, freshly made, and had the perfect crunch to the chicken. I honestly would come back just for the chicken

Excellent pizza! The dough has a nice crispness to it. The combination pizza I ordered was one of the best I've had in Orange County since Norm's Pizza in Irvine closed down in the 1990's. I asked the owner, Jason, if he could add fresh garlic to the pie and he gladly did. The staff and owner are top notch and are more than willing to give you a great product and service! I highly recommend the pizza at Ciao and the choice of draft beers on tap are an added extra!

What a nice delivery driver! The food is spectacular and great portions. They also got everything in our order correct (even the extra dressing). I bought food for 6 and for only 56$ and we have leftovers. Amazing deal and amazing food! Order from them! I mean cmon, this pizza is beautiful and shows how much they care

Excellent thin pizza made from scratch. The pizza is nicely thin and foldable. Ray the owner is awesome. I love sitting at the counter and chatting with him. What ever you do, don't ask him for ranch for your pizza! They also have great Italian bread and make sandwiches with capicola and even hot pastrami. The garlic knots are better than the cheese knots.

Ciao Pizzeria Bar is a local gem! Jason and Armando, the incredible owners, make every visit feel special. Their “Create Your Pizza” option offers fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the pizzas are always perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is top-notch. This place is amazing. Don't judge it by the outside of the building. The owners care about the food they make. The pizza is best around. The pizza has a crispy crust and the ingredients are all fresh. If you think fast food pizza is good, don't eat here. Quality takes time. The sandwiches look absolutely amazing. Next time you want a good pizza or sandwich, come here and give it a try. Don't judge a book by its cover. The outside of the place doesn't reflect the quality of the food.

The garlic knots are amazing here as are the pizzas. Everything is made from scratch, very authentic. This is a restaurant ran by it's owner (Ray) and they are very friendly. You can tell they get a lot of repeat diners from the neighborhood. Lot of bay area pride also seen in the decoration. There is a TV set up in the cozy restaurant. It is located in a strip mall and parking can be an issue.

Fantastic margherita pizza, and the supreme was delicious too! Really top quality cheeses, and a friendly atmosphere. Bar selection is good too.

Toppings on the meat lover's pizza were excellent and the cheese was of good quality. The star of the lunch were the parmesan garlic wings. They were so good that I ordered a second helping which is very rare for me. The new owner is a very nice guy and very into sports, would be a great place to watch the big game. Easily a 5 star experience and I would recommend this place to anyone.

Good. Came here on a Friday night for the first time and I waited outside for about 30 min just for an order of meatballs and 1 slice of pizza. I understand they were busy but I was literally sitting outside right in front of the store with my order there ready. Meatballs were good pizza was better. I may consider going back but pre-ordering for sure.

I understand they were busy but I was literally sitting outside right in front of the store with my order there ready. Meatballs were good pizza was better. I may consider going back but pre-ordering for sure.

We got the margarita pizza and the Italian salad for take out. Salad was good but the margarita pizza had very little cheese on it. Slightly disappointing.

Horrible Spot, The owner has an ego man, I ain't the one who posts reviews but I had to on this one. Once I was waiting for my pizza and the guy kept talking to me like he knew me and once I got my food I simply asked for ranch and the dude got extremely mad at me, keep in mind there is a sign that says 1$ for ranch. He said " you gunna ruin my pizza" with the most disrespectful tone ever, I really don't let anything slide with me but honestly this pizza join is a joke. Grease all over the food and no wonder this pizza joint is temporary closed for a reason.

I've been here on multiple nights in case one was a fluke, but on each occasion I never received a refill on my waters nor a box for my pizza until I asked the 4th time. The server is happy to assist everyone else and even share some drinks with them (unprofessional IMO), and happy to ignore me. It's insult to injury when there are only two parties in the entire small restaurant and he says he "forgets". The food isn't worth the lack of service, and the pizzas are small, expensive, have subpar toppings, and dough so dry, it might as well be a powder caked donut. It's a cute spot but the charm starts and ends with the small brick aesthetic.
