Went during the late lunch hours, and we got excellent food and excellent service. They have a Lunch Express menu that is smaller size and also cheaper than the dinner menu. Dinner menu was available if you wanted a full size meal. I visit the area a couple of times a year and always go there.

My kids and I where out to play and stopped in for some lunch. The reception was warm and inviting. The server was very helpful and attentive to our needs. The food was amazing. More of the reason I am posting is the customers that where seated next to us. They were horrible people. It was 2 ladys and a baby and where constantly complaining. The conversations they carried was loud and where just vile subjects. Through all this the waiter was nice to them and I even though I was gritting my teeth. Outstanding place and outstanding customer service skills.

I've moved out of California and, unfortunately, there isn't a Rodrigo's anywhere near my near home, so, whenever I find myself back in my old stomping grounds, a trip to Rodrigo's is a must!! Everything was excellent! Immediately after being seated we were given chips and salsa. Shortly after our Server came and took our order. Our food came out quickly and hot. Everyone was very attentive and polite. Will definitely return.

My husband and I love eating here. We have come here for years and never had any issues. The atmosphere is comfortable, the chips and salsa are great, and the food is delicious. My favorite is chile colorado and chile relleno. My husband usually gets a chile verde plate or wet burrito. We also enjoy the Fajitas and churros. Food is always fresh, and the staff is always friendly. Usually spend about 65 for 2.

Had a family early dinner on 7-22-23 while we sat at the bar table. Service was excellent, friendly and fun. Food quality was great, especially their beef Flautas! Supreme margaritas were superb. Bartender had a great personality, we had a great time. Air conditioning was working good on a very hot day, very comfortable.

This place, which I fondly remember as Don Jose's as a child, has fantastic food. Our servers have always been knowledgeable and friendly. The chips and salsa are difficult to stop eating. The best part is that they are bottomless. I haven't had one dish under par here.

I have been coming here since the 90's when it was called Don Jose's. The staff had always been friendly and welcoming creating a great atmosphere. The food is delicious and the bartenders make stellar drinks. Even the chips and salsa are great. Big open area for large groups as well. Highly recommend!!!

Always excellent service and delicious food! My daughter had the chicken strips and french fries, but they do have enchiladas, and other better options, she's just doesn't eat many things lol. I had rigos special (two beef or chicken flautas...I get the shredded beef) ...so good with rice and beans, and my hubby had the chicken Sonora (grilled chicken, rice, and tortillas)... which was delicious. I also had a strawberry margarita... rodrigos are always so yummy! Remember to sign up to be a member for free.. online or in restaurant. Every month you get a coupon buy one entree get one free with purchase of two drinks or $10 off $25. Such a deal! They have happy hour specials and mariachis on certain nights.

Food is still good but the higher prices with an 18% tip makes this spot a less likely to go to if I'm depending this money

I have been going here since I was a teenager over 30 years ago when it was Don Jose’s. The food is still great, same flavor and portions. Our waiter has been working there for 32 and he said the cooks and staff have barely changed. This was my first time stopping in, in several years only because I don’t live in the area. Not disappointed at all.

I was looking for a Mexican food restaurant to stop for lunch and to kill time before my tax appointment in Ontario. I stopped here and was very impressed. The staff was very nice and attentive. I ordered a taco and cheese enchilada combo off the lunch menu for only $8.99. A ton of food that I couldn't finish! It was very good. I would eat there again if I'm in town.

Update: 8/18/25: Everything was terrific! The host was a Hispanic man, very gentile and gracious, and seated us right away. Our water, Manuel, was excellent. He checked on us regularly, was friendly and happy to serve and interact with us. Everything came in a timely manner and oh my goodness, it was top notch! We could tell they only use the best quality ingredients. The chips are light and crispy and the salsa delicious. The Classic Margaritas were smooth, better than we've ever had. Even the chicken taco was exceptional. Thank you for the great experience! Previous: Our waiter was terrific! He actually put the dishes thoughtfully where they would go and was very attentive and considerate of what we might need. And of course, the food is always exceptional. The 3 item combo is a good deal... 3 meals' worth st least! Can't beat it...well except for the fajitas! That's at least 4 or 5 meals! Our home a away from home. 🙂

Went impromptu after church with a large group. Everyone was so welcoming and our waiter was excellent. Food got to us quick and was pretty solid. Definitely have a great brunch special.

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for 44 years. We used to live in Montclair, and this was the only restaurant we ever went to before moving to Corona. Even after moving, we still happily drive in every week to enjoy dinner here. Not only is the food consistently amazing, but the entire staff is truly kind and welcoming. This evening, my server Tiffany went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of, especially since I was dining alone. Her warmth made me feel so at ease. I also love the friendly hostess, and the bartender always makes my favorite Coconut Margarita perfectly. This restaurant has always felt like home to us. With delicious food and genuine hospitality, it’s no wonder we’ve continued to come here for decades and we’ll keep coming forever.

We went here for my cousin's birthday with a set menu of options. My husband had the wet chile colorado burrito, I had the chile colorado tostada, and my mom had the fish tacos. Everything was delicious and the portion sizes were huge. The inside of the restaurant is dark, quaint, and comfortable and the service was great. We will be going back, but next time we might need to split a plate unless we want to take home some leftovers (which is very possible).

I love Mexican Restaurants with this type of architecture and decor. Really a throw back to my youth, going to old fashioned Mex restaurants with my parents. Staff was nice and food was really good. Albondigas soup, enchiladas, carnitas, beans and rice were delicious. My family really enjoyed it.

👍 the absolute best Mexican food I've EVER eaten from a restaurant ANYWHERE. I've eaten Mexi-food 🌮🌯 in Florida, Texas, Arizona, SoCal, MEXICO 🇲🇽; this was by FAR the tastiest and most well prepared food of all. Deliciously marinated and seasoned, rice and beans were even well seasoned. We got a healthy mix of regular food and seafood; all was great! Food was prepared on time and expertly packed with a good amount of extra sauces for everything. Even though they were busy with inside dining and a rush of takeout orders, the service was speedy but friendly! 👎 I have nothing bad to say about this place. 10/10

Margarita specials are worth the trip. Feel like food has improved since it was DonJose. Bar has decent seating but it's perimeter so it's really better for big groups.

The vegetables in the fajitas were delicious and the serving size was great. But this time the steak and chicken were dry. I've been here before and had excellent, tender chicken, and good steak. Next time I'll ask for the steak to be rare. The hard shell beef tacos were disappointing. The beans had a bacon flavor which I don't like, but others did. If I had never been here before this visit would have earned 3 stars but I'm averaging this with my last awesome visit that I didn't rate.

We loved Don Jose's! Glad to see that most of the menu has stayed the same. We we're there at their happy hour time. We sat in the bar room to watch a baseball game and were pleasantly surprised they had appetizer specials for $5. We got the 4 chimichinhitas. They were excellent and a couple of drinks for $20. We'll be back.

Visited during Taco Tuesday, the tacos were good, they added a decent amount of meat for 2.00 each w/ 3.00 Margaritas. Wish the shells were a little fried instead of steamed, then they would have 5 stars. The fajitas smelled great too! I will try that on the next visit. I recommend this place, and I will be back!

Nice atmosphere, great food and good service. Very clean and inviting. The only reason I gave 4 stars is it's expensive. Soft drinks are $3.75, which is a bit much for a glass of Sierra Mist. If you love Mexican food and don't mind spending $20+ per person, Rodrigo's the place to go. They also have an extensive alcoholic drink menu and happy hour drink specials.

Have been coming here since it was don Jose's. The interior has changed a bit. There is no longer a stage or dance floor. Came on a Saturday for dancing to find it changed and tables are in the middle. Still the same food and I suggest the deep fried ice cream. It's always the best.

They have a delicious Tortilla soup i really enjoyed.

This was my second visit here. The food is good. We had an amazing server. I would definitely recommend this establishment.

We were traveling and we topped in Alta Loma to visit family and they treated us to Rodrigo's. I ordered the Chile Relleno and Carne Asada Taco, which also included rice and beans. They serve very large portions. The food was delicious. I would definitely recommend them.

The Chicken with Shrimp plate was yummy, the bed of rice it was sitting on could have been complimented with a different seasoning or a different type of rice. The Chile Relleno.. BOMB! Food was great love their food. Waitress did a fine job. But couldn't take my Visa card was a prepaid Visa card? Everyone else could take it but they couldn't take it I guess it was our system for getting a tip they made it difficult do use it. So I left cash and no tip I offered them a $7 tip for a $28 bill and they couldn't figure out how to process the Visa card so my wife went out to the car to get the cash

We were a large party, maybe 30 people, and we're charged an additional percentage for being a big group, I was going to tip good anyway, but I wasn't warned about it, and I don’t like to be forced to do something without my consent. TOO BAD BECAUSE THIS PLACE WILL BE MISSING A GOOD NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS 🤨😬👎

Do not get their Chilaquiles. We had 3 orders of red and green Chilaquiles. They are just dry chips with almost no salsa, no cream or cheese. There is no love in that plate. Very disappointed. Service was really good.

I've been eating here since it was called Don Jose back in 1776. However, the quality of food and service has gone downhill considerably. Our last visit, on Mother's Day 2023, the food was OK, but not great. The chips and salsa were fantastic, as were the Margaritas. Unfortunately, they pretty much ignored us between dropping the drinks off and delivering the food. No refills on ice tea or soda for the little one. The killer (for me) was when the check arrived. They added 20% for a large party, which apparently they define as more than 4 people. Yep, 4 adults and 1 child is a "large party". I've seen and accepted this for 8-10 people or more, but 5 people? That just seems over the top. I never saw a sign or any warning on the menu, either. There's plenty of parking, so that's not an issue.

Rodrigo's (formerly Don Jose's) is kind of an old reliable for us for decent Mexican food. However, it's disappointing to see the cost of their meals has gone up significantly in recent years but the quality of the food has not kept pace. We still visit occasionally, but not as much as we used to because eating there with a family of five is easily going to cost you a hundred dollars. We can get better tacos at King Taco for less than that.

We got the 19.99 two entree with rice and beans. The meat was like eating baby food. I will say we loved the flavors but the quality was off! Would try it again but probably something grilled.

This place has been here a long time. It was known as Don Jose's when I was a kid, but the son has since taken over. It's OK Mexican food. I like my food a little spicy, but this was good. They have a little smaller menu than some other Mexican restaurants, but what they have a stuff people would like. They give you some chips and salsa when you sit down. The chips are thin and tasty. The Salsa is ok, like I said I like mine a little on the spicy side, but I love me chips and salsa regardless. They have a large bar area that you can get a lot of different drinks. The also do a breakfast, but only on Sunday. So may come back to try that out.

Service was ok. Food not so much. I expected more flavor. I should have cooked something better at home and this is what I get for being lazy. Lack of flavor, portions not to generous, limit of choices . No shrimp cocktail, no sopes, no mole.as these are mandatory to complete a Mexican restaurant menu. First and last time for us. Thanks 😊

Reason I'm giving a 2 Star instead of a 1 is because the waitress was amazing. I was disappointed in the food. I ordered a fajita combo of beef and chicken. Plate arrived with more mixed veggies and hardly any meat. Beans were from a can!! Maybe I had high expectations for a restaurant that says they serve real authentic Mexican food.

Biggest piece of $4! I have been to yet. Seriously don't waste your time or money. Food was not good at all. Service was ok. Tile floors were dirty and sticky. The food I ordered was dry, burnt. My food burrito had no sour cream and tasted like fish. The food once we received it the nachos where soggy and both burritos the insides where burnt and cold.

Don’t waste your time or money it’s not worth it. The food is sub par for any restaurant I’m not sure who the person making the food was. I don’t want to use the word chef or cook because those words don’t apply here, especially since they don’t even cook the rice. I’m not sure if today’s generation likes crunchy. Rice but I’m not into it. I would have however liked the crisp taco I ordered to have had some crunch to it but it was a cold soggy mess. Last time I checked a chile relleno was made with an Anaheim chile not a jalapeno. The prices for everything was not worth the low quality food you get. They’re trying to claim they’re carrying on the Don Jose brand. But it’s no where near same quality or value. As I said before go elsewhere for good food perhaps a street vendor and don’t even bother with a doggy bag as I wouldn’t do that to my dog or anyone else’s for that matter.

Fire whoever is in the kitchen !!! The food was horrible. To start the salsa was terrible, the fajitas were dry, rice was terrible, and tacos were gross, and the chimicanga was horrible as well. Everything was bad bad bad i couldn't imagine having to pay for that food. I just prayed I didn't get food poisoning. Better step it up rodrigos before you end up closing your doors for good. Makes sense why no one else was in there, they must know rodrigos is no bueno. Take my advice don't waste your money.

Not great at all. Food was bland and a small bug was in one of the burritos. It was replaced but we weren't given new utensils until almost ten minutes later. There was no real apology for the bug nor anything offered as compensation, not even the mushy guacamole. Also, pretty sure beans are from a can. 😭
