Recensioni di H&H Bagels New York
H & H bagels are the best in NY! I would trade all the new trendy, fancy bagel sandwich places for a simple H & H bagel with scallion creme cheese ANY day. They are open 24/7, their bagels are ALWAYS fresh and their spreads are all great. I have never had them be out of any kind of bagel, no matter the day of the week or the time of the day. They are extremely accommodating if you need to place a large order in advance and I have even called the day before for a next day order of 50 bagels! I do wish they had a little bit nicer of a seating area...there's a lot of dead space towards the front that could go towards a few more tables or at least some more chairs! Don't be phased by the long lines that sometimes go all the way out the door and down the street! It moves very quickly!
What a great bagel. I had the pumpernickel breakfast sandwich and really enjoyed it. Ate there twice, I may have to have them send me some. Good and fast service, I'd go back and when I do I want to try the bacon cream cheese with and egg! Back in the big apple and H&H never disappoints! Everything pumpernickel, egg salad and bacon. They never skimp on giving you plenty. A great place to grab a quick bite to eat.
As a bagel-focused establishment, this was perhaps my favorite of the NYC bagel tour. Grab bagel and go kinda place with great coffee. There was a line but it moved quickly. Could go a little lighter in the amount of lox and cheese on the bagel, so you can get your mouth around it all and get the taste of the bagel, that would be my only critique. Otherwise ingredients were great and overall well done!
New to the area, like H&H Bagels as they are just the right bagel! We are from Bay Ridge Brooklyn and these bagels here at H&H are just as good if not better!! The service is quick and friendly. Thank H&H for making sure we found a great place that serves some awesome bagels!!! The staff is extremely helpful!
Great bagels. Large and hearty. They don't skimp on toppings like sesame seeds. The egg and cheese on a bagel was super filling. Highly recommend the scallion cream cheese. They are well staffed so we were in and out quickly.
This place brings back a lot of memories of being a wild and crazy twenty something living in Manhattan and waking up with hangovers. And then going to get my Sunday morning bagels to make myself feel better. H & H is part of my history. And I loved those lazy Sundays getting my bagel, cream cheese and lox. With orange juice. The think I like about this place is that they over-stuff the bagel with the melt in your mouth lox and cream cheese. The bagels have a light crispy outer coat, and a slight sweet taste. They overload it with cream cheese here, so if you like light cream cheese, let them know. It's a good bang for the buck. They are not chintzy. There is nothing like NY bagels. I have lived in Los Angeles, Phoenix, London and when you leave NY you leave behind that delicious scrumptious melt in your mouth taste of NY lox and bagels. They just don't do it as good as NY. I lived on the upper east side and this was a regular place I went to on my weekends. It's very popular with the locals. This place can get crowded and it's a hit or miss whether there will be a long line. It depends on the time. This place will always be part of my memories of my 20 something years being wild and crazy. I love this bagel place.
I love this place. Lol, got lost the first time looking for it cause of limited signing. Very good sandwiches especially their sausage egg and cheese (best damn sausage tastes like fennel in the seasoning) I say go early (opening-9 am) for the freshest stuff and they run out, fr. The counter people are pretty nice and sweet everytime I pop in. Coffee is meh and pastries are ok-ish. Anything bread or bagels are on point. Every spot on UES has their niche they do well and they do breakfast well.
Classic bagel shop which also makes great breakfast sandwiches. Prices are fair, the place is busy but the employees are quick, attentive, and helpful. There are a good amount of spreads to choose from. Personally, I like a cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with walnut raisin cream cheese.. I might go get one tomorrow actually..
Outstanding nyc bagle H&H has been doing it right for years There are lots of bagles out there But if you want to taste the original flavor and appeal of a true ny bagle .than treat yourself. This is fact, not opinion.
Not my go to bagel place on the upper east side but I have come here many times with friends and family for bagels if we are on second avenue. Weekend mornings the line is out the door, but it honestly all runs pretty smoothly. For the many years that I have been living on the Upper East Side and have passed by H&H bagels in the morning, the line has continuously been out the door, and that right there in my opinion is a sure fire sign that business has always been booming. I have always enjoyed the bagels from there and if I lived closed then I definitely would go there more. Along with that the coffee there is pretty good as well. Definitely recommend if you are in the area and looking for a classic NY bagel.
My friend and I visited NYC from Ontario and wanted to get bagels to walk with in Central Park so we found this place through google maps. I’m so glad we did! I tried the everything bagel (not toasted so he made sure to grab me a really fresh one) with tofu chive cream cheese and OMG it was so good. My friend is hard of hearing so there was a misunderstanding with her order and the guys there were incredibly sweet about it. Great experience and I’d highly recommend them!
I have ordered from here many times via Grub hub. The food is always amazing. The strawberry cream cheese has real strawberry bits in it and is absolutely delicious. I also really love their asiago bagels. 10/10 would recommend
One of the better bagels in NYC. Our old building stuff used to order bagels for everyone from here every Saturday morning. They were amazing and the couple of times we went there ourselves, service was excellent.
Great bagels. This place tends to be crazy inside, especially on weekend mornings. They are wildly disorganized (shouting orders / inconsistent lines / et). That being said, it doesn’t matter. They never mess up orders and it just works. The bagels and sandwiches are great. Coffee is serviceable. 5*
This is my first time in New York and I'm asking myself why I waited so long to visit this city. So my first NYC bagel had to be from here. Everything bagel with lox, mmmmm! I only had three days to explore not near enough time. This was definitely worth the cab fare!!! (New York cabbies are a kick!)
One of the lovely Manhattan Bagel shops. Pretty bare bones- not much sitting. But authentic bagels. They gave me half and half when I asked for milk in my coffee.
Picture is from the first time I ordered at H&H about 6 months ago. I've been back many times since then (have ordered bagels with just plain cream cheese, as well as the BEC sandwich) and haven't been disappointed even once. Lox bagel is ~$18 with tax and tip. Service is super nice and quick too. A neighborhood staple!
Amazing food more then just bagles but the bagles are great top grade NY.
H&H was extremely busy when I went during the morning of a weekday. Even though they were busy, I was able to order and receive my food very quickly. I ordered the bagel with salmon, and it was really good. The salmon tasted great, and it was the perfect temperature. I would definitely recommend and go again.
My Brooklyn residing cousins shipped me bagels and cream cheese to Virginia from you guys this weekend after my mother passed away. Everything arrived beautifully, and perfectly packaged. They bagels are literally amazing and the ultimate comfort food during this time for my family. Thank you so very much!
Very basic, no frills bagel place for takeouts. Definitely needs an upgrade on the decor but it is a great solid New York bagel place and the people are efficient.
I have missed NY bagels something fierce being on the West Coast now! My Director recently went back and brought bagels back! They were so good! I love how lite and airy they were even after toasting. My coworker didn’t believe that it was still going to be chewy even after toasting. Delicious.
This was the perfect NYC breakfast to have after a long walk in central park. The bagels were all well made, toppings tasted fresh, and they were generous with the schmear. There wasn't a long line at 9am on a weekday morning. Service was friendly and prices are high but to be expected for upper east side.
Good SEC bagel sandwich. They use sweet Italian sausage cuts which provide a great flavor. If you get a bagel with cream cheese, they slather a huge dollop of cream cheese in it. Decent coffee as well. I see why H&H is a popular neighborhood joint.
To be honest, the main reason I came here is because it was on The Office. I got a Hot Italian Egg & Cheese on an Everything Bagel. I thought it was going to be hot Italian sausage, but it was actually regular breakfast sausage with buffalo sauce. I still enjoyed it though. If you go to NYC and you don't get a bagel, did you really go to NYC?
If you put yourself in the mental mindset that the stores next-door are probably high fashion and rent for probably $35-$60,000 a month then you can understand that a bagel sandwich will be expensive in this neighborhood. This is a 13$ bagel sandwich. It is fantastic and delicious. If you want your sandwich to come out how you originally intended, steer clear of the mean looking Hispanic woman. Sometimes a you can judge books, let the person behind you go ahead…if it weren’t for her. 5 stars
No frills bagles and everything.. you can peek and see the freshly baked bagels brought in as you wait to order. This low key establishment offers all of the bagel classics. There is limited seating indoors. Prices are right, great portions and the service is punctual as you would expect in these high volume fast paced garb and go bagel places.
Why are there no bagel shops within a block or two of Central Park?! Had to walk for 20 minutes for several blocks to get to one of the bagel shops, namely H&H Bagels. We arrived on a Saturday early afternoon and thank goodness the rush ended so that by the time we had placed our order, a table freed up for us to sit and enjoy our sandwiches. H&H Bagels has about 3-4 tables inside for seating and you're on your own if those tables are full. We ordered the Steak, Egg & Cheese ($9.65) and H&H Club ($13.90). Both were hefty and delicious! Very satisfying, especially if you can split both bagel sandwiches with another and try both! Only thing that would've made it better would be enjoying it at Central Park or with a view of Central Park!
Quick, easy, a delight. Wanted a fast breakfast to-go near the MET and was directed here by a friend. The everything bagel and jalepeno cheddar bagel was such a strong start, the spread to bagel ratio knocked it out of the park. There’s a new spicy scallion spread on the menu — definitely recommend checking it out, and it’s actually spicy!! Refreshing prices compared to what I’ve seen for bagels, definitely a place I’d come back to. Everything bagel: 8.5 Spicy scallion spread: 9.8 Jalepeno cheddar bagel: 9.4 Plain spread: 8.7
Gav in social media was great. We received a re-order of half a dozen everything and half a dozen sesame with delicious scallion cream cheese and regular cream cheese. Please note with the freezer bags, there’s cream cheese inside. But there’s no indication. My son loves the bagels. Thanks so much, Gav. Toasts up perfectly.
2 of us split a BEC everything bagel and a lox everything bagel. Seemed about standard NYC quality. Also split a black and white cookie, which seemed average, and a chocolate babka, which tasted/felt more moist than it looked and had a liquor or mollases quality that was interesting.
The line was out the door when I arrived and I waited maybe 15-20 minutes until my order was taken. H&H has a larger assortment of bagels, cream cheeses, and drinks. I tried both a bagel with eggs and a bagel with veggie cream cheese. These bagels were both fairly tasty. One area of improvement could be their method of taking orders. Perhaps they should have an employee walk down the line and take orders so that way they could have them ready when the customer arrives at the counter. I have seen this done before and it does work very well. Hope these comments and suggestions help!
The bagels are decent, but the toppings we had were lacking in flavor. We waited in a huge line and there was an even longer wait afterwards. I don't really understand the line and wait system they have. They never let us know when our bagels were ready and we had to remind them twice that we had ordered. And they had no reference for our order so we had to tell them what we ordered so they could prepare it. There's a disconnect between the cash register and the food preparation. Really chaotic atmosphere with employees that seem to not really care. Someone told me, "That's just New York" but everywhere else we ate was relatively quick and chill. I don't get it.
A Sausage Egg and Cheese with half a link of sausage that has then been split in half again. The bagel itself is good. But it is generous to be calling like 10 grams of sausage a SEC. And the price for that sausage? $2.10. That's an incredible rip off.
Bagels are really soft and fresh however, I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese and was charged for it. I got my order and went to work. When I arrived I learned that my order was incorrect. There was no sausage in my order despite being charged for it. Their staff is a bit inattentive. I don’t recommend this place unless you are just picking up fresh bagels to go.
Of course H&H is iconic but this location didn’t live up to the hype. The store itself needs a major facelift (it was very depressing inside) as that location was used for shipping. How could they let the original location get like this?! I was genuinely shocked. The lady at the register was super nice though and can’t fault them for the shabby interior. It’s definitely a grab and go kind of place which is a shame as it’s an institution. My pumpernickel lox bagel was good but nothing really to write home about. I was told the other locations are much more aesthetically pleasing
Tables are not what they used to be. They also don’t put napkins in your order. You have to get them yourself.
Wanting to celebrate Festivus properly, I took the bus to the Second Avenue location. This location is so sparsely adorned, one wonders if it's about to close; you need to look inside to see if it's open. Staff was courteous and helpful. Egg salad on a bagel was $9.90; a half-dozen to go took the bill over $20. The egg salad needed salt. I wouldn't go again.
The bagels were really fresh.. although the everything bagel I got was flavorless. There was no roasted garlic flavor or roasted onions or even the tang of salt that one expects with an everything bagel. The corn muffin had no flavor at all. The wonderful corn crumble was missing. It definitely was more cake than corn muffin. The sandwichMy friend got was so packed full of cheese. When she bit it, the cheese stretched for miles, it seemed. She said she enjoyed it very much. That was an egg and cheese with salt and pepper on an everything bagel. She like me was disappointed in the bagel flavor but said it was really fresh. The service was mediocre at best. We asked for a toasted corn muffin with butter & just got a corn muffin. We asked for a specific flavor of ruggulah and got everything but the requested flavor. The store itself was dark and dismal. Had I not been brought in by a friend?I would never have gone in by myself.
Two times in a row the order was wrong and missing toppings we paid for. The food is good and staff is nice, but the order has repeatedly been wrong.
We ordered H & H bagels from NM, since our favorite NY bagel place, Bagel Biz, had temporarily suspended shipping. The shipping process went well, but the bagels were a major disappointment. The were anemic looking and not at all what you see in the photos on H & H’s website. They also were fairly tasteless. We’ve had H & H bagels in NY and they were much better than those we received.
What happened to the inside of this place? It is sooooooo terrible! Needs some major attention! The bagel was delicious but I'm not coming back. It looks like a dump from the 1970s... Fix it up asap! This is the UES !
Bland, boring avocado egg and cheese with egg shell and avocado stem for flavoring. I was thoroughly disappointed. At least they had free seats, probably because everyone avoids this place and you should too
Unfortunately not good bagels. They were too hard and didn’t feel fresh. I was not a fan of the vegan cream cheese here totally flavorless.
I’ve given this place several tries, and it has never lived up to the hype. Their bacon, egg, and cheese normally comes with American cheese, but I started ordering it with Cheddar cheese. It was $8.93. I thought that would help, but it didn’t. Their cheeses are weird. The everything bagels don’t have much flavor either. There are better bagel places on the Upper East Side.
I paid 10 bucks for a bacon egg and cheese on a poppy. It's not a new york bagel. They need a new recipe for the bagels, it just sucks. And for 6 dollars the ice coffee tasted like burnt coffee that u get when u drink the left overs in a coffee pot from the chock ful of nuts brew. $24 dollars later , here I am. Lol
When I moved to the neighborhood I was so excited to have a bagel shop around the corner. Sadly I would rather go to another borough to get bagels than eat a bagel from here. Genuinely dont understand the hype. They have NEVER gotten my order correct and I have gone in person to order. The bagels are tough and always taste stale. So many other great bagel spots in the area.
Just had a really gross bacon, egg and cheese from here. The bagel was stale and the bacon tasted like it had been sitting out. The egg was flavorless and smelled like plastic. To add insult, my bill was $15 for this disgusting sandwich and one coconut water. Steer clear. One positive is that the staff is very nice.
Like what happened to this place? I've eaten here frequently for years, the quality dropped off a cliff. I came back today to see if I should give it another chance, and for some reason my bacon egg and cheese has ketchup on it? Not only that, but it's dry and flavorless, just like last time. I'd might as well light my money on fire
Worst bagel I’ve ever been served from a bagel shop, would have asked for a replacement if I hadn’t taken it over to the park to eat. I get the sense my everything bagel had been sitting out all day at the bottom of the pile — very little seasoning on it, chewy in a tough, stale kind of way + imperceptible toasting. I get that not every bagel is going to be wildly fresh but wow, if this is what you have to offer in the everything bin, let me know and I’ll order something different instead of wasting $4.
Seriously awful excuse for a bagel. Idk how they still exist in New York let alone have such a well-known reputation. Maybe they used to be good back in the day but the bagels I had over the past few years were all bad (across h&h locations). Most recently they were so dense and lame my sister just threw hers out. Just go anywhere else. I’d rather have a Thomas’s
I ordered a bagel (buy one get one free on Uber eats) and iced coffee.....I received on bagel and no iced coffee....bagel crust was weak....not a good example of NY bagel
Mostly writing this to remind myself not to come here again. What once was my favorite bagel place in the UES, now provides small, stale, tasteless bagels. Got the whole wheat everything and the flavor of the bagel somehow overpowered the scallion cream cheese. There were also way too many scallions in the cream cheese but I’m just so sad about the quality of bagels. Guess I need a new go to bagel place, 😩
I’ve been to this place a few times to get the Taylor ham egg and cheese, and it’s been very good up until today. I ordered the same thing, and the “Taylor ham” was just low quality lunch meat ham, not even cooked. Reminded me of the ham in lunchables I ate as a kid. Also, the cheese wasn’t even melted. Very disappointed. On top of that, they forgot my girlfriend’s sausage on her bagel sandwich, which we paid extra for. I suggest checking your order before leaving the store.
When I first moved to the neighborhood H&H was the best bagel place - WOW it's gone down hill- run down - dirty& poor service plus the cashier is so rude - she acts like I am doing her a favor. I asked one simple thing and she rolled her eyes and me and did what she wanted. I have stuck by this place after the pandemic hoping it would improve and you know what it hasn't - prices went up while hygiene, quality and service went down! This place needs not just an attitude adjustment but board of health needs to pay them a visit... it used to have lines out the door and they would have a large amount of flavors now it's empty and they make less flavors of bagels - this doesn't bode well for someone who tries to support them and you get treated like garbage... if you want to good service and a good bagel there is a ton places in the neighborhood that is 100% better. If there is no line out the door on a Sunday morning....it's not that people aren't having bagels it's they are going elsewhere....
