Haven't been in ages, hope it's doing well under the new management!
The renovation’s been settled in for a while now and honestly the place just works better. The lighting’s better, the air moves, drinks come fast, the whole room kind of flows now. It still feels messy in the way The Ritz always has, just…less falling-apart messy. Upstairs is where things really go sideways. It’s dim and plush and loud and suddenly you’re dancing with people you met about thirty seconds ago. The music gets people moving early and nobody’s pretending to be cool for very long. The crowd is very New York right now. Hot, chaotic, a little ridiculous, and fully leaning into it. By midnight it’s packed and sweaty and everyone’s yelling lyrics like they’re at a concert. The nice surprise is the renovation didn’t sand off the personality. If anything it made the place feel more alive. Still a great place to make bad decisions. Wear something with stretch.
Gente de todos tipos y sabores; recominedo ir despues de las 11 pm
Excelente lugar... 100% recomendable.
It’s always an amazing time at the Ritz! The vibe is always fun, music always on point and the new space is perfect.
Amazing space with amazing people. Great NYC experience!
This bar is legit the most fun spot to close down! The staff inside knows how to run a killer bar - 10/10 recommend
This place has really turned around with the new ownership. I love spending time here
The new Ritz is amazing and very crowded. The atmosphere is very friendly and the music is really good.
Just walked in. The place is awesome and people are so friendly. Such amazing pride experience
It's a place that I love for the music, the drinks and above all the atmosphere
The staff is awesome great vibe great energy
Love this place. Always fun, always friendly.
Favorite Bar to visit when I am in NYC!
Very cool….!!
I love this place, I love the music, and the people 🥰
Love it
The revamp is 🔥🔥🔥 - looks great
Everything was perfect
Fantastic
I love the Ritz best best drag shows in nyc!!!
Always a vibe.
Kevin was incredible and the most personable bartender we’ve ever had! As casino cocktail servers and bartenders, we all highly recommend visiting him and the fabulous happy hour at this location. The “Ritz” name, rainbow flags, and “369” addy trifecta made us walk in. Thanks, Kev!
Classic.
Threw my 30th birthday party at the Ritz and wow, what a night! Eric made everything so easy and was beyond accommodating. The staff was top-tier, the drinks did not disappoint, and the vibes were immaculate. A night I’ll never forget… even if some of my guests might 🤭 Highly recommend for any celebration.
Spontaneously wandered in on Thursday night late at night after checking out Times Square while visiting. It was Latin Night $15 cover to get in to Latin Night in downstairs & was well worth it. Good sized crowd everybody dancing & having fun all night long, DJ was excellent. A lot more people & fun than I was expecting to find on a Thursday night. Drinks were small was only downside but not a big deal to me.
Hosted my friend’s birthday at The Ritz and it was perfect from start to finish. The staff was incredibly accommodating and made the whole night feel seamless and special. The music was on point, the layout is great for groups, and the drinks were really good and affordable! Everyone working there was so friendly and welcoming—it genuinely elevated the experience. Such a fun, inclusive spot and an ideal place to celebrate. Will 100% be back!
Such a fun spot, great music, amazing crowd, and the kind of place that instantly puts you in a good mood. The new ownership is really bringing it to life. The drag shows are a blast, and I love that there’s something different happening every night. Definitely the go-to for a good night out!
Love this place, good music, they don’t stiff you on the drinks, and the vibe hits whether it’s happy hour or packed late-night. The dance floor’s always a blast, and the new decor gives it such a fresh, fun feel. Easily one of my favorite hangs right now.
The Ritz was recently renovated not too long ago. The new lighting in the back is amazing and gives the dancefloor an exciting vibe. The drinks prices are a little bit lower under the new management. There is no cover charge most nights. The drinks are made well and the bartenders are friendly and welcoming.
Truly an amazing experience every time I enter this establishment. I love the performances, atmosphere (the renovation is fierce), and the community it builds as a historical queer venue. Proud to be a gay man here living my best life!
Incredible drinks and service. Left my bag overnight and they were kind enough to keep it safe. Can’t recommend enough.
I'm so thrilled that this place got renovated and revived! It has become my go-to spot again in Hell's Kitchen for a terrific happy hour (served by cute bartenders). Friday and Saturday nights are amazing to come dance with all my friends. The crowd is beautiful and the vibes are perfect.
Week night pop in and it was still fun enough... Nice staff and atmosphere. IM SURE IT WAS ALOT MORE FUN ON A GOOD NIGHT! STILL HAD A BALL!
Great gay bar. I went on a Wednesday night. They had a nice Latin night. Sexy gogo boys, cute customers and strong cocktails. They have two-drink minimum if you use a credit card but they are super nice about it.
The bar is great and the remodel looks amazing… seriously! they did a fantastic job. The music and overall vibe were perfect, exactly what you’d want for a night out. Unfortunately, the experience was brought down by the chilean bartender, Nicolás. His attitude really took away from what could’ve been an awesome night. Great place, but the service needs work
One of my favorite places in Hell’s Kitchen! It has such a great vibe, always good music, fun people, and an incredibly nice staff. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a welcoming and lively gay bar in the neighborhood.
LGBTQ+ Bar / Club staple in NYC. One of Hells Kitchens first gay bars. Open late as well on weekends. Always a fun vibe every night has a dj and a drag show
Loved it. Vibes immaculate. Music great Queens and dancers on point. Had an amazing night.
Bartender was excellent, drinks were great, and to top it all off, I left my prescription sunglasses at the bar and they saved them for me!
This is an amazing place, the shows are amazing...the staff it's great and the atmosphere feels phenomenal....10/10
The Ritz is going through an amazing remodel with fresh ownership that is passionate about creating a fun, entertaining and lively environment! Very exciting and the grand reopening will be something to see!

I truly like that this space has it all Dancing, Great Drinks, and Entertainment! Like, you don’t know what’s going to happen they have Drag Queens, GoGos, and More! I highly recommend checking out the New Ritz!

Coole Bar
I feel like this would be a great spot on another day or late time, but at 10:30pm on a Monday there was only a handful of people and wayyy overpriced drinks.
It was empty @ 1am on a Friday night. I was surprised. 😳 I used to live in NYC and came back to visit for US Open and it usually was packed by 1am Friday and Saturday nights.
We decided to check out the NYC gay club scene, and social media brought us here. ATMOSPHERE: The long and narrow bar is very dim. The front section features a small bar with some seating. In the back was a small dance floor and an even smaller walk-up only bar. The music was good. No cover on Thursday nights. We walked in and walked out. It had nothing to do with the biz, but just me. Either I'm getting old, or am over the club scene, or was not having it that night, or a combination of all three lol. I'm now more into sitting down actually hearing and conversing with someone rather than standing around and shouting everything. OVERALL: Nice place if you want to dance. Go elsewhere for a more chill scene.
the diva at the door gave me such an attitude she ruined my night. i was sending the venmo for the cover which was no big deal and while it was loading she said "oh this must be really hard for you." mind you i was sober and in the process of doing it she was just impatient and so i held my arm out to be stamped and she stamped it once like normal and then wouldnt let my arm go and aggressively stamped my arm another 5-6 times. its pride weekend. im just trying to have a good time. ive been to the ritz a million times and its always fun. i love the renovations and generally havent had a bad experience but she was so unnecessarily mean.
Drink prices are on the high end and they have a minimum. Only went during the week. Nothing really worth checking out but weekends seem to be much more fun.

Came for RPDR viewing and live drag with a bunch of friends. The bar service was really good and attentive. Unfortunately, the TV projector wasn’t great quality, the live hosts were both super later, then kept talking over the show and turning the lights on and off which made it more difficult and chaotic to enjoy everything. They seemed to not want to be there. Perhaps it was just an off night. Sadly we didn’t stay long after the viewing party because the hosts just seemed really sloppy. I guess a plus was that they were giving out free shots to whoever wanted one. Not sure we’ll return anytime soon unfortunately.
They charged a 4% credit card surcharge at checkout, which is not legal and is already above standard of 1.5-3%.
I'm sad to see the place getting emptier and emptier. Today there were only 15 people ALL NIGHT... I wish it a speedy recovery! And it's not fair to charge admission to events like Treta, an event that's not of interest to tourists or locals.
The bartender told me two drinks minimum after I got the first drink. That’s absurd. People stop coming here for a reason. Just don’t go You should fire that bartender. Period.
This was my 3rd time here and often the environment is welcoming and feels safe. Last night it was very predatory however with men following my gf and I through the establishment and making uncomfortable advances. There wasn’t management properly keeping watch on the safety features at play and to make matters more dangerous, both my girl friend and I were called homophobic in the bar after leaving (due to the harassment) by the drag queens who were about to perform. We were heartbroken, as we sought solace here and have referred others here as well! We didn’t want to leave and planned to stay for the show, and were even coerced into staying in exchange for free shots if we tipped— which would have happened regardless if our boundaries were respected. <3 Being called homophobic and then walked outside the bar to the public with the scrutiny not only was a false accusation, but deeply disturbing considering it placed a target on us for the rest of the night where we appeared as single, “available” young women. It is dangerous enough for members of the LGBT to find truly inclusive environments— but to have our choices to leave a potentially harmful environment and get home denied become a scandal, I don’t think this is an appropriate place to go after midnight by any means.
The DJ was charging me $50 for one song. That’s wild. We’re in the USA, not Brazil. Mondays should have more variety, not only Brazil music all night. I liked it better before—they used to play more variety, with American artists too.
I went to The Ritz last night with friends, and the experience was pretty disappointing. The bar was basically empty, possibly around 10 people inside yet one of my friends wasn’t allowed in because he had a New York consular ID. He even showed a second government ID (expired but clearly valid for identification), and the security guy was still rude and dismissive. What makes it confusing is that every other club we went to accepted the same IDs with no issue. Even his NYC city ID card had been denied by The Ritz before, which just feels inconsistent and unnecessary. When I mentioned this in a previously posted review, the owners claimed we were involved in a “physical altercation” inside the bar or in the proximity of the bar for which we were denied access — which never happened. We never even stepped inside because we weren’t about to leave our friend outside. So seeing them make up a story like that instead of actually addressing the real issue was honestly pretty frustrating. They claimed to have camera footage which I’d be interested in seeing given we weren’t inside and went pacifically to a local Queens bar instead. I get that places have policies, but the way it was handled felt unwelcoming, especially for a bar that advertises inclusivity. Please do better I’ve been to this bar before and it’s usually great but this interaction and the after response from the bar management is not it.
I went with some friends but we only stayed for about seven minutes. On our way out, we were blocked by this guy, honestly, I couldn’t tell if he worked there or not—who kept power-tripping and demanding that I say 'excuse me' before he’d let us pass???
A place where racism and bad drinks reign. Never again. Reply to management: You can check your cameras again. Here is a recount of what happened. My friends and I came in for the Love island finale event. Some of the guests there thought it was cute to sit atop of us with their feet next to us. My friend handled the situation with grace. That happened twice. The guests were white and my friends were black. Those guests were not happy with my friend advocating for herself and kept being passive aggressive. There was hostility and disrespect. Now, for the bartender on shift that day. I had ordered three drinks of the special menu. The reason we chose that drink is because my friend is allergic to citrus and on the list of ingredients, it mentioned no citrus. I told the bartender about my friend’s allergy, they seemed to understand. I emphasized that no garnish is needed either. They brushed me off claiming they heard me. They proceeded to ask me if she was ok with lemon juice (I answered politely but as a server myself, that wasn’t an attentive service), they replaced the lemon juice with pineapple juice and proceeded to put a lime in the drink as garnish. I told them: no garnishes are needed, she is severely allergic to citrus. They were visibly inconvenienced, I suggested they give me the drink and make another one for her. They started giving me attitude and when they handed me the check, they didn’t acknowledge their mistake rather slammed the check at me and went on their merry way. I didn’t think I need to have a whole recount of events but the fact that you didn’t even think to come up with a better response, is very telling on who this establishment is trying to cater to. Inclusivity is just a front to disguise how poorly managed this place is. Also, the drinks are utterly disgusting: over usage of sugary syrups and mixers to hide the awful standard of liquor choices.
