Recensioni di The Brooklyneer New York
Server was great. Nice atmosphere, even if it’s a bit barnlike. Pub grub was tasty. We had planned to go somewhere else, but they were open and welcoming here. I would deduct a star for them putting alcohol in my friend’s no-alcohol drink but, in our case, luckily it wasn’t an issue.
Great happy hour place. Held an after social event at this location for roughly 30 plus individuals and they were accommodating. Good drink prices. Nikolas is the man!!
The owner, Billy, was really accommodating of us hosting our pre-wedding drinks here. Very welcoming and our guests said they loved the spot as a perfect pitstop, between the church and reception venue. Will definitely return.
I made reservations for 7 people at 8pm in August. The staff was super friendly and great to talk to. As women we felt safe, the drinks were great, and we loved the vibe! There was outdoor and indoor seating. Wasn’t too busy. We will be back!
Great spot for an after work drink. Happy hour is what you come for, cocktails are what you stay for. Get a seat at the bar and talk with friendly staff. Wide selection of beers on tap and lots of other options - just what you would expect. The staff are experienced and will happily advise on the menu
Great spot to grab a drink after you find out Houston Hall is closed. Read their reviews, this happens often. But you’ll be better off at the Brooklyneer instead, where the bartenders are friendly and the guac is top notch. Definitely hit this place up if you’re looking for a casual and unassuming spot in the area.
The food and drinks at The Brooklyneer were pretty good! The prices of drinks themselves were a little high I felt, but food prices were decent so overall it wasn't a crazy bill for a group of us. There are waves of crowd size at any given time, it's either empty or packed, I have yet to experience an in-between. The big negative here is the table service. Drinks took a half-hour to come out, going straight to the bar was within a minute or two every time.
The tacos here are delicious (I'm partial to the pork) and the staff are all friendly. Lots of great beers on tap. The cocktails weren't my favorites, but then again, I'm super picky. Still, the food was surprisingly good -- all locally sourced -- and the prices were totally reasonable. I look forward to going back!
Good vibes in the beginning. However, going there for years at this time, the service isn't well. They take their time and give you passive attitudes when you call them over. Some bartenders do have their favorites. When it's busy forget it, 20 minutes waiting for a drink, minimum. Mix drinks are good but sometimes it isn't worth it
A former shell of its pre Covid glory. Only IPA’s on draft and Budweiser as the only bottle/can option. Date ordered white wine and the one bottle they had was warm. The bartender said it was on the house which was nice but he knew that it was a ramshackle operation. A shame because it used to be my favorite neighborhood bar. Not sure what the deal is but hope it passes on to new owners soon.
Offensively dishonest. They haven’t been open in months, despite their posted hours suggesting otherwise. This goes beyond ignorance - it is malice aimed directly at anyone seeking to enjoy a succulent Pilsner Urquell prior to a show at the Film Forum. A place so horrible that even the address itself is tainted by its association with this phantom, yet cruel establishment.
Reserved part of the bar here for a friends birthday, the bar is a nice space and kept clean. However, we were told we’d be given aux for the night but they had a DJ that was extremely rude to our group refusing to take requests and yelling at the group for asking, even when we were the only group left at the bar for the night. Would recommend The Brooklyneer overall.
Poor bartending services. Had to remind the bartender 3 times to get my drink and ends up spilling it because hes not paying attention. But that is not the worst part. The worst part is one of the bartenders assaulted and hit my friend in the face. Please fire this man for hitting a customer. His name is Nicola.
Zero stars. Really suspicious and weird experience. The bartenders are rude with horrible customer service. They let a homeless man into the bar who came up to my table and harassed and started fighting with us and the bar did absolutely nothing to help young girls who were being threatened. Then to top it all off they tried to scam us!!! Came up to us out of nowhere and said they tried to close my tab?? I've never had a bar close my tab voluntarily... it was early and we were unwinding after a work day not planning on closing up yet. We asked to get the receipt and see they charged us for 4 extra drinks!!! $550!!! The bartender started arguing with us when we told them about the mistake. They were so rude "I'm sober and you're not". We knew what we drank and they tried to take advantage of us. We insisted we knew exactly how many rounds we got and they said they'll have to get the boss with attitude. She returns a few minutes later and slams the receipt on the table with our correct tab without saying a word and storms away. Now we think everything is fixed but NO they charged my card and my friends card!! Thank god my bank flagged it and declined it. DO NOT GO HERE!!! worst service I've ever had at a bar.
I came here Saturday with my coworkers after to work to unwind and several things occurred, the worst being the waitress being rude while attempting to close out our bill before even asking us if we were finished, it was fairly early (12 they close at 4) and we’re at a table vibing not sorting signs of leaving, exhaustion or emergency to go. When we looked at the total ($555) we realized we were overcharged a round of drinks. After bringing it to her attention she began to give us more attitude, suck her teeth then say she wasn’t the one who served us and how she and the other bartenders are sober and so that proves the total was correct. We were not drunk, extremely pleasant and in good spirits just confused and not wanting to pay for drinks we didn’t consume 😅. After several attempts on our behalf to settle this mistake I finally asked to speak to her manager, she stormed off again and brought back the corrected total $442. We paid and left, my card was charged and she attempted to also charge my coworkers card but her bank declined due to fraudulent suspicion. I never thought I would be almost scammed like that, especially since we usually have a great time. Made me wonder how many times have I been actually intoxicated and overcharged.
BE CAUTIOUS USING YOUR CARD HERE. Upon ordering the woman serving our table told me that the ordering machines placed on the tables do not work. She insured me that I would not be charged after I paid and we are still responsible to pay the bill after the service which was fine. My husband paid the bill with his card and left a tip. A few days later I noticed a charge on my card from that business. We reached out to the business and management claimed they would look into the issue but we haven’t heard from them since. Today I noticed the same charge PLUS added gratuity this time. It’s such a shame because the drinks and food was great, but businesses should not scam customers like that. If you choose to come here, use cash. If those machines “don’t work” why are they still on the tables???
