I used to come here all the time when it was The Dam, and I do miss that place and the bartenders. But I must say that the space has been completely revamped and has a nice, low key and classy atmosphere. The food is great, including their grilled cheese and their charcuterie and cheese plate. Great selection of cocktails that are at typical Manhattan prices (well, about $3 less than someplace in The Village, which would approach the vibe of this place). So cocktails are $12, very well executed. And the bartenders are generally nice, particularly the good Scottish lad. The crowd and feel has changed since the days of The Dam, and I will cherish the memories I made there. But I am happy to welcome this new spot to my neighborhood. Excellent in my experience.
I love the Hamilton’s attention to detail and creativity. I would have never thought to garnish an old fashioned with a dried Peruvian sand worm, but it was brilliant! Kudos to the team at the Hamilton.
This bar is a unique find in the neighborhood… I feel so welcomed and appreciated when I walk into the door… The bartender Joe reads my mind and introduces me to new wines and spirits and it is the reason that I come back time and time again he’s really amazing. I love this place.

This place deserves more credit. It's well-situated with courteous employees. Nearly everything tastes carefully prepared. Team members add joy to the dining experience. The place ensures a good experience.

Johnny knows everything about whiskey, especially about the late founding father Hamilton, as I drank whiskey he recited the speech that made Hamilton a founding father. It was amazing

Bourbon lovers heaven! This bar is great if you’re looking to sip on some bourbons you’ve never heard of and chat with friends. They have a great selection of whisky and really friendly staff. Perfect date night spot!
Probably the best cocktails in the neighborhood.,we had questions about what whiskey would suit us and then Joe the bartender very knowledgeably explained to us which one would be perfect and he was spot on.

I love the ambience in this place. Joe the bartender it’s very friendly and really knows his craft. He makes some of the best cocktails I’ve had in a while. It’s a perfect place to catch up with friends or go on a first date!
I've never had whiskey before, because my mother always said it was an undignified drink for women. At the risk of appearing unladylike, I stumbled into The Hamilton with the intention of trying whiskey for the first time. As I was internally battling with my mother's judgement, a kind bartender named Ross noticed me looking troubled. He could tell immediately what my predicament was. I was surprised how intuitive he was. He assured me that women drink whiskey all the time, and it's completely normal. Ross allowed me to sample a few different kinds of whiskey, and I really loved how it made me feel! I'll admit, I did feel slightly more boisterous after consuming the samples, but Ross assured me that it was okay to express myself! At the end of the sampling, he fixed me an elegant cocktail, and I was again reminded of my feminine demeanor. I loved being able to let loose while sipping a delicate cocktail. Who says women can't drink whiskey??? THIS woman can and WILL! Thank you Ross.
Strong drinks and solid Whiskey selections — Ross (bartender) did an excellent job managing all of the patrons on a busy Saturday night. This is a very cooool spot for all the Columbia crew. Highly recommend!
Loved this place! Went for a late night bourbon and glass of Malbec. One bartender joint - very friendly and familiar ambience with great lighting and nice table options
Good scotch, good service. Large selection of whiskey and scotch, was able to try out a new scotch that I haven’t had before. Chill and old school vibes.

Small dark space - incredible whiskey selection and a couple great beers. Some really good cocktails as well. Space is very intimate but it was easy to find a spot. We had the penicillin and were pretty into it. Prices are normal. Great spot in the uws.
Absolutely amazing cocktails! Service is okay, but definitely not stellar. They'll take care of you when you finally get the attention. But they won't check in on you. Ambiance is exceptional! Def sexy and good for an intimate date or 1:1 catch up with a friend. My girly and I will def be back
If I get handed a $33 dollar drink - even if it’s already being discounted. And I say it’s the worst drink I’ve ever had. I would expect to be able to send it back instead of just be handed the bill.
