We were staying in the area to visit Yosemite. There wasn’t many food options about, at least not what I fancied. But when in America you gotta eat BBQ. This place did not disappoint. Quick service, amazing food. Best bit for me was that I asked for a recommendation. And they gave us a taste of their tri-tip for free. It sold me I took the 3 meat platter! Food was really good! I’d go back!
We were so lucky to find this BBQ Restaurant adjacent to our hotel. The food is really good! The sign on the door says they routinely sell out prior to closing, and the hotel receptionist verified that "Go early before they sell out ". The inside is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but still with quite a few tables. We both shared the 'Three Meat Combo' meal for $25.00. This includes two sides and a roll. It was PLENTY of food for the two of us. The flavors were delicious, and I especially liked their barbeque sauce. This restaurant is self serve. Customers order at the counter and pick up the food after paying. Food is served on a metal platter, which adds to the authentic BBQ food vibe. The employees were all very friendly. The restaurant is super cute and eye catching from the road. The restaurant was VERY busy. If you like good BBQ food, check out this restaurant while in the Oakhurst area.
If you’re looking for great BBQ…this place is LEGIT! Brisket sandwiches, slaw, beans and fries - all outstanding! We didnt have to wait but it would be worth it if we did. This will be our go-to when visiting Yosemite.
This was a great place to eat some BBQ! I found the food to be awesome, however, if you're into healthy food this really isn't the place. great flavor and friendly staff made my 2 visits here very pleasant. If I'm ever in the area again, I will be sure to drag along everyone I'm with to eat here again!
To whoever this is reading: we have been traveling all over America the past 4 weeks. We have traveled over 7000 miles, seen 8 states and used countless dining places, but this... this is it. It's by far the best one yet. The first night out was so good, we returned the next day to experience it all over again. The meat is smoked (14 hours) and flavored to absolute perfection and the service is outstanding. Every single night is busy but the employees keep on smiling and take the time to serve you right. Yes, there is a line outside but please, it will be worth waiting for, I'll promise you! I wish I could give this place 6 stars.
We've been there on a roadtrip. Arrived early and had a blast. Super nice service. Brisket, Sparerips and sausage tasted delicious. Right after the first plate we decided to get for a second one. As Germans we loved the sausages.
Wings. And Mac. So delicious I couldn't take a photo quick enough. Also $13 for 10 wings and $25 for 20 is an insane price for wings in this economy, especially with how juicy they are. I'm usually disappointed in wings when they are all dried out but these were crispy and big. Highly recommend 10/10
The friendliest staff, every single staff member was so friendly and welcoming. The menu had so many amazing options and our choices were absolutely delicious. We got the Sasquatch with jalapeño Mac and cheese (which was truly the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had), and a pulled pork sandwich with twice baked potato casserole (my only disappointment was thinking the potatoes would come hot). Their Arnold palmers were delicious, not too sweet. Portion sizes were huge and we were stuffed for the rest of the evening (we ate at 430pm). They also allow dogs on their little patio! Thanks so much guys!
The ribs had great smoke flavor and great rub(perfect pull from the bone), brisket was very tender, nit dry, and sausage had great flavors(with a little heat). The pulled pork also had great taste, but this one was a little on the dry side(maybe by chance). The barbecue sauce was good, and I favor the sweet one. We had Mac and Cheese with bacon and the bbq beans for sides. Very good, and I would definitely recommend everything. My favorites were the ribs, brisket, and sausage.
Stayed at the hotel in front of the restaurant and decided to check it out based off the positive reviews . BBQ was really good, pit master really doing a great job, recommend the Jalapeño Mac n Cheese! Prices are average for BBQ, worth it imo. Would come back again, glad to support this local gem in Oakhurst while we were here. We noticed it got super busy on a Wednesday after 4:30PM so plan accordingly since there was line going outside compared to when we were here with no line. Pictured is the Meat Only Full Rack of Pork Ribs Half Pound of Brisket Medium Jalapeño Mac n Cheese w/Bacon
Takumi of BBQ - one of the best We come here with a heart of testing our luck and are full of surprises and joy. Overall, I recommend you come by if you are craving artisan food. Tri-tip This is not your ordinary tri-tip that dry as hell. Their tri-tip is the best I ever had. (same as the chef according to her, lol) Putting it near your nose, you will notice a meld and fresh wood smell. The gray edge area is full of flavor, yet the center is right on medium well but full of moisture. Overall the tri-tip is truly a gem we found. I would rather come here for tri-tip, than having Ruth-Chris or Gordon Ramsay’s steak house for free. The 41 baker (loaded sweet potato) The white sweet potato with meat and sauce is a symphony of taste. The chef said this is their most popular dish, I totally agree. The potato is at the right temperature. The center has good potato-like textures, which are mixed with meat, cheese, and spicy sauce. However, the edge part near the skin gives you a natural sweet taste of sweet potato. It balances the center part, making it a wonderful adventure. Slaw I have to compliment their slaw, it is sweet and fresh. I can taste honey, apple, and many fruity flavors. Which it makes a good resting place while you battle with those delicious meats. Beef brisket It’s delicious and full of smoke flavor. I would say it is tier-one brisket. It blends well with their spicy BBQ sauce. Overall I did not expect this when I first walked in. Each dish is well designed with good{front, middle, after} tastes, and well balanced in {sweet, salty, spicy, smoke} flavors. In Japan, a good chef will make a common family dish to the extreme, escalating the food to another level. And tonight (2/4/2024), I found a similar thing here, I am so glad fate let us walk in and encounter the Takumi (master) of BBQ.
One of the best BBQ place in town if you’re looking for large portions of quality meat with great value. Must try their signature “Pit Master” burger, includes beef brisket, pulled pork, chicken sausage topped with fresh cole slaw! Sides like Mac&cheese, creamy broccoli salad are also enjoyable. We also tried the limited Brontosaurus Beef Rib. It is slightly expensive but totally worth it. Definitely will visit again next time! Note that fries are sold separately and not included as sides.
My dad and I stayed in fish camp for the weekend and drove into Oakhurst a few nights for grub after days in Yosemite. Smokehouse 41 took the cake without a doubt. Got beef rib, tri tip, pulled pork, brisket, sides, and a blueberry cider. Fantastic. Staff was kind and helpful, happy to guide through the menu. Get there before 6-7pm to beat a crowd…
Hands down the barbeque I've had in California, that I can remember. The ribs were perfectly tender, the sausage smoky and flavorful, and the briscut delectable. The centerpiece of it all had to be my mom's baked sweet potato. I've never seen a potato so big in my life, and that was before it was loaded with delicious toppings. Ended up eating it for lunch the next day. Mmm. On top of that, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the prices were very reasonable.
Visiting from East Tennessee I wasn’t sure what to expect from California bbq. We went hungry and weren’t disappointed. We ordered The Mammoth and had tons of food. The meat highlights of The Mammoth were the tri-tip, brisket, ribs and the side highlight would be the loaded baked potato salad. I almost forgot about the sausage! Mercy that stuff was the best cased meat could be! There were four adults sharing this and we had a good amount of food leftover. I also ordered their house beer and it was really good short of an $8 beer being served in a plastic cup. If my only gripe of the whole meal was a plastic cup I think life must be pretty good. If you’re in Oakhurst you’d be doing yourself a disservice by not eating there. Don’t be turned away if the line is out the door. It moved surprisingly fast.
Saw this bbq house on the guide from hotel. Their meats are really tender and smoky! I also like the potato salads. Broccoli salad even has apple and crane berry, which really mitigate the oily taste of meats. I came here alone this time but I shall bring my friends with me next time when to visit Yosemite!
Some of the best BBQ I've ever had. The staff is great. You order and pick up your food, and the staff cleats the table. Excellent and highly recommend.
Stopped by this delicious BBQ place on our way to Yosemite, definately the best smoked meat I have had in a very long time. It was balanced nicely, the smoke wasn't overpowering, and the coleslaw compliment those meal. On that note it is definitely the coleslaw I have had, I will make my way back here the next time I am Fresno for work.
We came here for a quick lunch today and left so happy. The all employees were SO sweet and friendly. The food was so fresh and delicious, that we ended up getting more stuff to go. Thank you. If we ever there we will definitely stop by again.
So glad we found this place! I had a tasty half rack of ribs, great coleslaw!! My husband had the pulled chicken sandwich that was piled high with meat, moist and delicious. Good namesake beer on tap, and friendly staff. Highly recommend, wish we'd eaten here our first night staying in this town!
Go here. If you love BBQ, go here. The savory brisket and tri-tip that filled my sandwich was flavorful and perfectly prepared. I had the Sasquatch sandwich. It had the two meats topped with grilled onions and cheese sauce. The bun was soft and amazing. The side of potato casserole was the best. Although, the mac salad looked amazing as well. The entire staff were very polite and friendly. 🙌
Stopped here just after they opened on a Saturday morning. There was barely any wait to order and the food smelled amazing when ordering. The staff was all very nice and explained the ordering process. We ordered the mammoth which had 2 large sides and various types of meat. We also choose to sit outside since it was a nice morning. While waiting on our food to come out you could smell the food from the smoker which was absolutely mouth watering. Our food came out very quickly and napkins and BBQ sauce were readily available. We enjoyed everything we received with our order. The brisket and jalapeno cheddar sausage were absolutely amazing. Everything else was great but these two meats were our favorites. The beans were also some of the best we've had and you could tell they were also made in the smoker. This was the best BBQ I've had when stopping to eat at a restaurant. We loved everything about our visit here and plan to visit again soon!
Wow! The lines were long to get in, but the food is well worth it! It's a popular place for a reason, with true real deal BBQ. I would definitely eat here again. I was a little worried about the Jalepeno Mac and Cheese being too spicy, but even that had just the right amount of kick to it. Truly a worth while BBQ stop on your way to Yosemite National Park.
Stopped by here for dinner around 5:30 on a Friday and the place was packed. All tables were occupied and there were about 12 people in line to order. We ordered the pork ribs, brisket, tri tips with sides of coleslaw, beans, and cheese macaroni. Tender and juicy meats with plenty of flavor. Now I know why this place is so popular to the locals and tourists. Highly recommended.
We were very pleasantly surprised by the restaurant. It served first-class meat with a wide selection and delicious side dishes. You do have to wait a while, but we ended up sitting outside because seating inside is limited. However, I can highly recommend it and would definitely go back on my next visit to Oakhurst.
Great BBQ options and so tasty. We waited for quiet some time to order, and the line up was outside the restaurant. But the staff were pleasant and very efficient and tried to keep things moving along.
Smokehouse 41 BBQ is arguably the best BBQ in the entire state. They smoke their meats for +/- 14 hours with California oak and have some of the most flavorful and tender smoked BBQ you'll find. Get the 41 Baker, a jumbo sweet potato loaded with brisket and cheese. Service is great, atmosphere is awesome, it's the perfect pit stop before or after some Yosemite time. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates authentic BBQ.
When I arrived, I noticed a large crowd waiting outside. My initial thought was, "There won’t be any seats available." However, I quickly realized that half of them were there for take-out. So, the next time you see a lot of people in front of a restaurant, don’t just leave. There might still be seating inside. Frankly, the pork rib is the best I’ve ever had.
Slow cooked to perfect California style dry rubbed BBQ food. The meat melts in your mouth and the side options are amazing. I love the jalapeno Mac n cheese, it's not spice but it tastes like jalapenos. The twice baked potato casserole is creamy and delicious. 41 Baker is gigantic, make sure you plan for leftovers.
We are always skeptical about BBQ, as we feel that we can cook it best at home. We tried this place due to convenience and good reviews. Brisket sandwich and Pitmaster both delicious (Brisket cooked just right, and could have eaten a truck load of it). Pitmaster is the perfect sandwich to try a little bit of everything, and flavors went together well. Mac n cheese had just the right amount of bacon with a pop of heat. Beans were a different twist on what we were use to. Interestingly we really enjoyed them. 10/10 from service to quality of food.
Smokehouse 41 BBQ is located across the street from the Hampton Inn. You can smell the aroma of Smoked Meats across the street. Better get there early before the line wraps around the building, and before they run out some food. There is nothing better to drink with bbq than a cold adult beverage. Let drink & eat!!!!
I got the 41 Baker with brisket. It was divine. The food came out quickly and the dining room attendant touched my table a couple times (very attentive). 10/10 recommend. My only gripe, which isn’t significant enough to remove a star, is their fountain drink machine is currently inoperable.
This is our first smokehouse that we tried it in the states and it was such a treat, especially after a long day of hiking in Yosemite. We had the combo rib plate which was a good selection of pork ribs and other type of meat to try for 2 people to share. We had the tri-tip ourselves. Initially, the meat tasted pretty well made with good seasoning but nothing that was mind-blowing. Thank the heavens because this place provides you with two types of self-serve BBQ sauce. We drenched ourselves in it. The food was elevated a hundred fold. We had such a good time at this place. Service was efficient and friendly. We didn’t wait too long for our turn.
Holy heck this place is to die for! Everyone was extremely friendly from the moment we walked in greeting us, giving us info on food, etc. The meats were delicious, everything was made with very high quality ingredients and it was a good value considering how much food they gave! I got the pulled pork and jalapeno Mac n cheese and my husband got the pit master with the broccoli salad. I don't generally like coleslaw, but theirs was absolutely amazing, and both of their BBQ sauces were amazing. I'm also a pickle connoisseur and theirs were freshly made... We would have returned multiple times if we found it sooner and we're here longer. Don't miss this place!!!
During our stay at the Best Western in Oakhurst, CA, we visited Smokehouse 41 BBQ, a well-known restaurant in the area. The process is straightforward: after waiting in line, it’s your turn to order, and you can choose to take your food to go or dine in. We opted to dine in, and the experience was wonderful. The staff greeted everyone warmly and provided menus, ready to answer questions about the food options. We decided to try the Mammoth, which turned out to be an excellent choice. My kids absolutely loved it, and their enjoyment made the dine-in experience even more memorable. Great food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere made it a fantastic visit.
Following in the footsteps of capitalism saying that a product is worth what someone is willing to pay for it, I believe the same should go for food - rather than ranking food by price or Michelin stars, food should be worth what the diner says about it and is willing to pay for it On our trip to Yosemite, my wife and I decided to take a break from the restaurants at Tenaya Lodge, as nice as they were. My wife remembered seeing Smokehouse 41 as we drove through Oakhurst and we decided to give it a try The food reminded me of the bbq joints we had eaten at in Texas - the meat was available by the plate or half pound My wife took her first bite of brisket and sent me straight to the counter to buy more immediately in case they ran out. It was so soft and juicy. I still dream about that brisket and despite visiting bbq places in London, I have yet to find brisket like that here
I got the 41 Baker—a smoked, tender, sea salt crusted sweet potato that’s topped with butter, cheddar cheese, and green onions. I ordered mine loaded with brisket. I was really skeptical of the sweet potato but this was amazing. Drenching it with chipotle sauce and adding the Smokehouse 41 sweet & tangy BBQ sauce made it next level. I will be back for this exact meal again!
Surprisingly good BBQ place for a small town. Food is great. The staff is very friendly. The only thing that was slightly unusual is that they don't ask if the guest wants a fatty or Lean part of the brisket. And they serve food slowly so get ready to spend some time in line. But it totally worth it.
Everything that we got was really delicious. I forget what the plate was called but we all shared a mammoth plate with all the different meats. My brother also ordered a side of their Mac and cheese. Their smoked sausage was delicious, it had jalapeño and cheese and my picky 7 year old really loved it. Some of the best baked beans I have had in my life. I really enjoyed the potatoes and the tri tip, plus their sweet bbq sauce was really great! We went for my dads birthday and we had way more food than we needed, it was a great stop on our way to Yosemite.
The smoked Tri-tip and brisket here were absolutely top-notch, genuinely the best we've experienced anywhere in the United States by far. While the line often stretches long, the staff excels at streamlining the customer experience by proactively presenting options and addressing questions upfront.
From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent. The staff were welcoming, the place was clean and inviting, and the food was absolutely delicious. Each dish was well-prepared and full of flavor. Truly worth the visit—one of the best dining experiences we’ve had!
Incredible tri-tip, super yummy baked beans with meat, very courteous staff, very accommodating too, they cubed up the meat for our 5 year old. FYI Was busy around dinner time, big line for single bathroom, not many places for large families to sit if super crowded, but the food and staff are worth stopping in and trying out!!
Great bbq place, reasonably priced, gets very busy btw 6.30- 8pm so be prepared for 30 mins wait. Limited no of tables but staff very tentative. Order at counter and pick up food in a couple of minutes.
I had to stop by after seeing the reviews. Definitely glad I put in an order, it seemed really busy, and parking is a little tight here. The place smelled great, good sign number 1. I decided to go with the Trip Trip, bacon jalapeño mac and cheese, and some fries. The accompanying pickles and onions were a nice touch. Some of the other reviewers say that the Trip Trip was dry, which was not the case at all for me. It was moist, flavorful, and the BBQ brought it up to the next level. It was all very good. The spice/heat was nice, not overwhelming, and the texture of the bacon added another layer of taste. The fries were decent. The service was nice. Overall, give this place a shot if you're in the area. Just consider how busy it might be and plan accordingly.
Absolutely worth the drive—every single time. This brisket is so insanely good that I literally drive from Fresno to Oakhurst just for it. Perfectly smoked, insanely tender, packed with flavor, and cooked to perfection. You can taste the time and care in every bite. I’ve had brisket in a lot of places, but this one is on another level. If you’re even thinking about stopping here, do it. Once you try it, you’ll understand why people go out of their way for it.
I have a gluten and a dairy allergy, and the staff were knowledgeable, helpful, and most of all exceedingly friendly. I could eat almost everything on the menu which is a rarity for me. I especially appreciated their level of care: they used new gloves, a separate area, and clean utensils to prepare the food. I got the brisket and tri-tip, both of which were delicious. The broccoli salad was the best I've ever had and the beans were lovely. The highlight, though, was the house made dill pickles. They were unique with a fantastic flavor of pepper, vinegar, and fresh dill. My family assured me the mac and cheese and potato casserole were also excellent. A perfect place for allergy havers and non-allergy havers alike!
If you see a line it’s worth the wait. It’s faster than what you think. We had a big party of 18 people and the staff were amazing with accommodating us. You place your order at the counter and the food is ready to serve, hot, and absolutely delicious. We were all so hungry so the fast service was a plus. The mammoth meal was perfect for 4 adults. Everything we chose was perfect.
Absolutely delicious. We took a group of nine here without a reservation (you can’t make one) and they immediately recommended us the Mammoth, their large family style option. The $120 platter came with a half pound each of brisket, chicken, tri tip, pulled pork, smoked sausage, and a full rack of ribs. There were also two sides and six rolls. We opted for the jalapeño mac and cheese and the baked beans with meat. Both were amazing. The staff was attentive and consistently checked in on us, refilling waters and asking to take our trays. Highly recommend for groups of any size.
This is my second review after our third visit. We stopped in Oakhurst on a Tuesday evening specifically to enjoy the barbecue on the way to Yosemite. We should have checked; they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. We came back for lunch on Friday and were the first customers of the day. The barbecue is wonderful and the service very good and very friendly. We shared brisket, pulled pork, and chicken and also took one-half pound of each home. Wow is it good. This is, in our opinion, barbecue as it should be, perfectly smoked. And, the smoking is done in the parking lot right out the front door, so the aroma is enticing up and down the street. Did I mention that the barbecue is wonderful?
The two-meat platter, featuring sausage and chicken, is accompanied by baked beans and the premium side of potato casserole. I'm so happy I did, since they were sold out of the house special baked potato. The meat is so tender, and the sausage has cheese and jalapenos. Wasn't a fan of the bread, but still good Staff hands you a menu, and you order at the counter after changing your mind a few times. Pay and then find a table. Staff are friendly, and tables are clean We're so bummed that we only had one chance to eat here.
If you are heading to, or coming home from Yosemite; this is a must stop for food. The restaurant opens right at 11 AM. There will be people lining up. This is not your typical fast food joint. There is no drive thru but service is fast. Meat is smoked for about 14 hours. You will see the smoker out front. I ordered the sashsquatch (might not be spelled right) it has brisket and tri-tip, grilled onion and some type of sauce. This sandwich is perfection. They cut the meat right in front of you. I also had the potato casserole. Everything was beyond yummy. I will always make it a point to stop here on my trips
After my second plate of brisket, I had to stop and just take a moment to appreciate how much work must go into making all this food. You can taste the hours of effort that go into the smoking process, and that’s something I really respect. It’s a whole craft, and you can tell they take it seriously here. The meat is smoked right there on the property. You can notice the lovely aroma before you even step inside, and that sets the mood instantly. The menu has a lot to choose from, which I like. I’m a brisket person through and through, but even so, I had a hard time not getting distracted by everything else listed. There’s plenty of sides, too, so you can build yourself a plate that covers every craving, from something rich and cheesy to something a little lighter. After a long hike in Yosemite, this is exactly the kind of place you want to land in. You burn a bunch of calories on the trail, then come here to get some much needed protein. They’ve got plenty of seating, it’s comfortable inside, and the temperature is set just right too. It’s the kind of place where you could easily bring your whole group of friends or family and everyone would fit in fine. And yes, I brought home a little piece for my dog. All in all, I’m really glad a place like Smokehouse 41 exists here. It’s part of the community. It gives people somewhere to gather, relax, and enjoy food that’s clearly made with time and care. I’ll definitely be back. Thank you, Smokehouse 41.
Ate here one weeknight in early May while staying nearby to visit Yosemite. Have to say it was really good barbeque with excellent sides as well! We’d wished they were open the following night as we would totally have gone back! So glad we went when we did and would go back when next in the area.
This is a steakhouse I stop by every time I’m heading back to San Jose after visiting Yosemite! Their brisket is the best I’ve had in California—very tender with a nicely balanced, slightly sweet sauce. The tri-tip is a bit chewy but still tasty. The staff are cheerful, and the servers are friendly. I’ll definitely visit again!
We stopped her on our way back from Yosemite because of the good reviews. There was a line outside but it was worth the wait. I had the three meat plate combo with brisket, tri-tip, and pork. Everything was juicy and tender. The sides, mac and cheese and the baked beans, complemented the BBQ. They make their own BBQ sauce and pickles, everything was very tasty. Everything we ordered was perfect. I was especially pleased with the great customer service. All the employees were attentive and friendly. Will definitely come back when we are in the area.
Food was unbelievable. Chopped beef was amazing, it was so flavorful and delicious I just couldn’t believe it. This is not a restaurant it is more like a fast food place. Place was a bit crowded but food comes just after you order it. If you look for a place to eat in after you finish seeing Yosemite this is the best you can go to.
5 star all around! We did have to wait in line, but they had cold water and staff outside to hand out menus and explain how everything works. They let you wait in the shade and monitor the line inside and that was awesome! The staff is all so kind and helpful and making sure you always have full drinks once you sit down! The food was INCREDIBLE. My family and I split the Mammoth so we got to try everything except the brisket which was sold out. All of the meat was so good and the sides were amazing. We got an extra premium side of the twice baked potato casserole and that was 100% worth it by far my favorite side. I would eat here again and again. We came at 6:30ish and got food around 7! So not too bad! The staff told us that if we came at 7 it is most often an hour and a half wait… so we were glad we came earlier!
Amazing place! It gets pretty crowded in the evenings and that’s for a good reason! The ribs were amazing. The 41 baker with smoked sausage was soo delicious and not like what I’ve seen or tried in other places. Cole slaw was very basic and natural and good overall. The mac and cheese was quite underwhelming to my taste. Overall a full rack of ribs and the 41 baker is enough to feed two hungry people and leave them amazingly happy. This place is a must if you are a meat lover and are in town. The staff were great
Some of the best moist and flavorful brisket I've had in a restaurant besides mine. The coleslaw side was Stupendous. The staff are great too. \nI would Highly recommend this place.

The food here was absolutely incredible. Stopped by after a recommendation from a civil construction crew I spoke to and it was definitely worth it.

Very good BBQ! We really enjoyed our meal here! Great service too! Not a lot of restaurants in Oakhurst, so highly suggest giving this one a try for one of the meals.
waited until New Years Eve to review my best dining experience of the year. I’ve eaten in some great restaurants in France, Italy, the UK and the US this year but this was definitely the highligh…
Ive travelled a lot and this has to be the best smokehouse Ive ever been to! We had to queue for an hour, but the flavour was AMAZING. We had pulled pork, brisket and Tri-tip. The smoke is perf…
Come early bc the pulled pork runs out typically by early evening. Service and staff are wonderful and kind. I got the last pulled pork portion at 7pm. The brisket was good but some parts were overcooked/grey. Long lines but it moves fast. Limited parking. The sauces are what make the meat so yummy.
Might be the best restaurant around. 📍 Visited on: June 28, 2025 🍽️ Dined: Takeout Food: 8.7/10 The meats are the standout here, you really can’t go wrong. Our favorites were the brisket and pulled pork. The sides are mediocre considering how great the meats are. Mac and cheese is a huge miss. Baked beans were only shining light and we tried nearly all options. Must-Have Dish: Pulled pork and 41 Baker Pulled pork is just about perfect. 41 Baker is very unique dish. Gigantic stuffed white sweet potato. Thing may have weighed 2 lbs. Service: Takeaway, so can’t speak on this. Ambience: 8/10 Looks nice inside but nothing special. Value: 9/10 Great portion size and quality. Would I return? Absolutely! Visited twice in three days.
Excellent food and very friendly and attentive staff. Meat had a nice "smoky" flavor and the fries with meat and cheese were awesome! A bit pricey though - it was $75.00 for the photos below but was on vacay so tend not to consider that as much. If we were local we would probably only return on a special occasion because of the cost which is also why it has 4 stars. But highly recommend if you're looking for good BBQ.
I stayed in Oakhurst for a short time and next to my hotel was this BBQ restaurant. The food was very delicious and rich in flavor! Sadly the brisket was a bit cold in my opinion but we entered the place at around 8pm and the place was very busy too. The sausage was also very appetizing. The BBQ sauce was smokey, sweet and spicy (there were two sauces, sweet and a spicy one). So if you ever find yourself in Oakhurst visit this restaurant.
The brisket and ribs are great. We also had the tri tip and it was good but not great. I would definitely eat here again but it is not the best I have ever had. I can think of a few places I like better. It was really good and you should give it a try. I agree that the prices for the amount you get is a little high.
Great spot in Oakhurst. The service was exceptional. You feel at home as soon as you walk through the doors the staff are so friendly and fun. We ordered a ton of food, and were happy with all the sides. Our favourite dish was the loaded fries (I think their called the dirty frites) with pulled pork. Amazing!!!! The ribs and brisket were pretty good but not in the top 5 that I’ve had, which is why I gave them 4 stars.
Good, but little portion, long queue and dry brisket, no more tri-tip and order process the most inefficient that I saw since a long time.. but the restaurant is cool and it's good. Will try maybe again this week
Overall really good bbq. Our group got the ribs, pulled pork, brisket and tri-tip. Meats were all really great, except the brisket was a little dry. For sides, we did beans, mac and cheese and potatoes. Definitely upgrade the side to the potatoes. Limited parking area and can get really busy. You order and pay at the counter. Staff was very friendly.
Service from employees was fantastic! Great employees there. My only minor complaint is the price of a tri tip sandwich. The option of 1 regular side isnt bad but those options exclude fries and is a separate charge which is a bit unreasonable given im already paying close to $20 and have to order a drink & fries separately. The food is great here but I wish the dinner rolls & bread for the sandwich was warm or had an option of being warmed up.
After a long day hiking in Yosemite this was the perfect place to get takeout from to satiate our hunger. The ribs were juicy and delicious, the pulled pork was very good, and the Mac and cheese side dish went really well with both. The baked beans and coleslaw were not overly special or remarkable, and the long wait to pickup a previously placed to-go order was a bit aggravating, however I would definitely still recommend this as a great dinner option when visiting the area.
Highly recommend brisket! One of the best briskets I had in NorCal (I’m from the Bay Area). It’s close to lots of hotels on the way to Yosemite, a great spot wrap up the day after hiking.
The meats were good, again not Texas but California BBQ. They make sure you get the exact amount of food, weighed meats, sides are placed in little cardbord boats, fries take a while after you order. I with they had Cornbread, part of a good BBQ in my world. All in all its very good.
We came around 6:30pm, they have parking in the back as well, the front was pretty packed. There was a long line but it move quickly. You order first and then pay and get your food right after, like most bbq places. We got the 3 meats plate which comes with 2 sides and we added the sausage which was cheese. The three meat plates were tri tip, brisket and pork. The sides were their beans with meat and jalapeño mac and cheese top with bacon. The reason for 3 start, some of the meats were warm to room temperature, sausage was the only one that was really hot. The beans were hot and and mac and cheese was room temperature. The staff were really nice. The overall taste was good, just wished it was hot. The place was busy throughout but we found a seat no problem. The portion was good for 2 of us if you are not too hungry. They gave us an extra plate to share so the pictures are of the plate already shared, should have taken a picture before.

We consider ourselves barbecue aficionados, so it’s always a risk to try a place that isn’t familiar. This one lived up to our standards and then some. Excellent bark on the ribs, meat was tender…
Interesting snake-like line-up to order cafeteria style. Several confused people on the porch wondering what to do/where to get in the line. long wait in this line only to find out they were out…
The food wasn’t too bad but the atmosphere is cold and the staff is VERY pushy. They added things we didn’t even want. A lot of plastic waste as well - sad
Excellent meats!! Didn’t love sweet potato (too sweet) but amazing aioli flavor on meat stuffed potato!! Macaroni yummy too! Glass of wine delish and such a nice little place. music too heavy/lo…
The cafeteria style service was strange and the food was honestly mediocre. I dont understand what the hype was about. Maybe when there's not many other options to choose from locally this seems like a gold mine, but it wasn't all that great. The tri tip was a bit tough so I had to cover it with bbq sauce (the sauce is good), Mac n cheese was so gross and watery and flavorless and topped with what it looked to be bagged bacon; cold and chewy, not freshly made like all the other meats. The beans had great flavor but they were not cooked all the way; crunchy. Overall just pretty disappointed because the videos they post look AMAZING but did not live up to the hype. Not even close.
A steakhouse lacking flavor is very unfortunate. Lots of options and very quick service. But the food always was missing something. Prices are fair and portions are large. Good place after Yosemit…
Went on last Saturday, around 4PM, walked in to place an order to go. Ordered 4 plates and an extra side for $115. Brisket, Sausage, and the Beans were good. Mac had no flavor, Tri-Tip and Fries were a let down. Service was quick but staff was rude.
If you’re thinking of coming here, make sure it’s before 18:00. After that, you’ll likely spend more than half an hour queuing only to be informed that they’ve run out of all meat. Yes, all of it. The only thing left are the sides—because who doesn’t come to a BBQ place just for coleslaw and cornbread? At that point, it’s hard not to wonder why the restaurant stays open at all. If you can’t serve a single piece of grilled meat, maybe closing around 18:30 would make more sense? Of course, preparing less meat than demand is an easy way to avoid waste and maximize profit. Who doesn’t love money, eh. But why does the restaurant choose to inform everyone only at the exact moment they run out of food? Would it not be more considerate to let people know earlier, before they’ve already invested (more than) half an hour in line for nothing? If the goal is to appear “popular” by keeping a line outside even when the kitchen’s empty, it’s certainly effective. There are a lot of nicer places in this town, and everyone deserves better.
